20 Best Water Filter For Whirlpool Refrigerator (2023 Updated)

I have an old Kenmore Coldspot made in 2005 and this filter #6 fits it! It’s Kenmore model 106. 76239402 in case that’s helpful for anyone. I do have to be patient in finding the right depth and twist to install (makes me wonder if the other negative reviews about installation are just user error).

Also, it’s funny that my kids always want the fridge water. My whole family loves the taste of our filtered fridge water.

This was an excellent purchase. The filter fits my Fisher-Paykel fridge perfectly – and the filtered water is as good as with the original filter but at 1/3 the price. Will buy again.

I got this product at the right time when my old filter was due for change. fits perfectly in my refrigerator. I am very particular about the filters, be it air filter or water filter. I have another brand filter but when I out this, I could actually taste the water differently.

I live in Austin so the water here is not that hard so the filter doesn’t have to work extra to purify the water. but when I put this it worked like a magic. I am now hooked to this filter and will never go back to any other filter.

300 gallons is a lot, but not if you are drinking a lot of water. That is the amount of water this filter is stated to filter, so keep that in mind (I personally assumed I could get a year out of this filter).

This filter came ready to go, right into its area of my Whirlpool, simple to install and I feel is essential in helping my family have not only great tasting water, but to take out impurities. Thus far, the water tastes good and is clear, can I say its completely clean.

I’m diligent on replacing my water filter every 6 months. I’ve tried several different brands to see if there is a difference. The Mist UKF8001, EDR4RXD1, Pur Filter 4 Refrigerator Water Filter is easy to install.

There was less dripping on the install and it produced clear water faster than other brands. No issues since I started using it. Price point is good. Glad I gave this brand a try!.

I’ve used this filter for two+ years. The filters are mostly fine. I did have one bad one that immediately had a foul odor that no matter how much I flushed it, the smell remained. Installing another new filter fixed the problem immediately.

I had bought this bad filter as an automatic order of two filters at a time. When I reported the bad filter to Everydrop, they denied my request to replace it since it was past the 90 day warranty period.

Infuriating, since they promote purchasing the two-pack with a discount, but won’t warranty it beyond one filter’s use period! I reluctantly continue to purchase this filter, but now pay the higher single-item price.

Also, I don’t keep a back-up on hand any longer. I consider this higher cost and hassle an insurance cost in case of possible bad filters in the future.

First off the packaging on these filters is ridiculously fragile. I have had a subscription for 5 years and I received a filter that had obviously been opened and the seal was missing from the filter.

I called to have it replaced or my money refunded and they refused! The customer service at this company is the rudest most greedy people I have dealt with in my 62 years. I canceled my subscription because I refuse to give one more penny to a company that treats me that way.

The quality of the filter has gone down significantly over the past couple years anyway. I will do business with someone going forward that values me as a customer.

The worst quality filter I have ever bought! I thought it’s the original website so the filter will be better but it clearly not…. Go for amazon or whirlpool directly buy please don’t waste your money and time here.

Also, the shipping takes too long, I ordered and received it more than a week later, I called the customer service and that lady there talked in cold tone. I even ignored that and just waited for the filter but now after just two months of using it, here I am writing this review and ordering a new filter on amazon.

In less than a month, this filter stream is VERY SLOW, it takes you forever to fill a glass of water. I flushed it when installed as I always do. When contacted customer service I was advised to go to lowe’s and deal with them since it was bought from them.

They also recommended a service call, I don’t see why I have to do a service call for this issue? I reinstalled the old filter and was much better than the new one so my water lines are working fine, no other filter system installed, Just the filter.

I believe this filter is defective. Everydrop water offered me a 10% discount code to buy another one from them. I’m not going to spend another $50 on a product that I can’t trust anymore. I’ll find another way to filter my water.

Lowe’s asked me to contact everydropwater and everydropwater asked me to contact lowe”s. It’s Everydropwater product and they need to stand by it.

Bought this filter and replaced the Filter we had from Amazon the was a Glacier pure and that ruined our water filtration stopped the our water and ice from Producing for a year. We called whirlpool they said they didn’t know what the issue was.

Changed to a different filter provider and still problems. Well I found this company online and voila there filter completely fixed our system. Absolutely best filter.

I have a Kenmore Elite refrigerator that is made by Whirlpool. I do not want to mess around with filters that are not made by Whirlpool. I do not want to have any problems and want original parts. I have been using these filters for the past 4 years and have not had any issues with these filters.

Just because you can find a filter cheaper that is not made by original manufacturer doesn’t mean you will get quality. Defects do happen, but why takes chances?.

Extremely easy to install into the refrigerator. Just remove the old filter, remove the purple covering and insert the new water filter.

These filters are good and work well. I’ve been getting my filters here for 3 years with no complaints. I have had minor issues with the water looking bubbly or unsettled in my glass sometimes even after flushing it like instructed, but this seems normal with all filters I’ve bought anywhere.

The flow rate of these is good for a solid carbon filter as well. These are VERY expensive though, and until recently you had no choice but to pay. But, now you can get 2 of the same filters (different brand) at Amazon for 40$, so only $20 each.

They appear to work identically, and the water tastes the same. So save yourself some money and get a 2 pack for less money then a single filter here. I’d rather give my money to this local Canadian company, but they charge 250% more here!!.

Received the water filter as described when I purchased it. Quick shipping also. The price well I would prefer it to be less specially when the fridge manufacturer advise to change it every 6 mos. I have always received a good experience when purchasing filters from Fridge-filters.

Fridge-Filters was a great find! I couldn’t find my KitchenAid fridge filter anywhere for this price. I bought two filters since the price was good and I received them within a few days. I’ll definitely use Fridge-Filters again!.

Good product. Received what I ordered. Shipping was initially a little slower than anticipated but just depends when you order. They only ship Monday through Friday. Excellent customer service. Had a problem and they resolved it with no hassle and expedited shipping.

Highly recommend. Saved me a lot of money. Note: If you buy this part and you have an old refrigerator, you will need a 5/16″ to 1/4″ push to connect reducer adapter as the fridge (made in 1997) has a 5/16″ water line and the large water inlet valve push to connect is 1/4″, not 5/16″.

It would have been nice if they had stated this when I ordered the part but perhaps I should have known this? I’m no expert and I was able to figure that out but the repair took me longer than I expected because of this.

The only reason I figured it out as quick as I did is because I remembered seeing something about this on another site but I was looking to repair the tank at the time, not the water inlet valve. Fortunately, it stuck in my head and I was able to relate it to the current situation.

None of the videos I saw here or on Youtube said anything about the adapter that was needed. This is the only reason I did not give 5 stars. This is the second time I have used parts and instructions from this site.

You sent the wrong filter. I returned it. The return shipping was more money than the filter cost. My bad!!! Coupled with the fact that the other part for the icemaker is available cheaper elsewhere leaves doubt if I will chance using your service again.

I ordered the filter you recommended for my refrigerator. It was the wrong one. I had to buy one locally because it cost almost as much to ship it back as the price of a new one.

I feel the quality of the filter is lacking. This is the first time I have ever purchased these filters. I bought a 3 pack , and the very first one I installed leaked all over inside my Brand new refrigerator.

I didn’t notice it until the next morning so there was quite a bit of water to deal with. I pulled it back out and noticed that the inner section where the smaller o-ring seals was actually square looking, causing the o-ring not to seat properly.

I opened the other two filters and they also had a square look to them. Also, the 3rd filter was only wrapped in plastic and did Not have a paper seal on it like the first 2 did. and the plastic wrap was open on the inlet side exposing the sterile side of the filter.

If I could have posted a picture on here I would have. The other thing I noticed was that there was No Charcoal in the water when I purged the system. In the past all the other filters I bought had to be purged to remove the charcoal from the filter.

I definitely Will Not be buying these filters ever again. Do yourself a favor and Pay the extra money and get a better quality filter.

The last time I purchased a filter for this refrigerator, I paid over $50 at Sears for one filter. Looked on the internet because I knew I could do better. Found many much cheaper filters but when I read the fine print and compared them to the filter I got from Sears, I realized they did not filter as much stuff.

When I saw the price of these filters I expected the same but the advertisement lists what it filters and it seemed as good as the Sears one so I bought a 2-pak. Installed one and have been using it for a week or two now – I see no difference whatsoever.

So I am now buying another 3-pak to have on hand. Free shipping and I received my filters within a few day of ordering them. Often when you buy something on the internet you pay nearly as much for shipping and handling as for the item.

This was the same make and model filter that came with my Whirlpool refrigerator, so I thought it was a direct replacement. The original filter that came with the refrigerator was several years old, so I thought it was time to replace it.

I bought two of these filters. Neither one would work, the filters are too restrictive, and created back pressure that resulted in the refrigerator water valve making a loud jack hammering noise! When I installed the bypass plug into the filter port, no more jack hammering sound, so I know the issue was due to the filters.

These are made in China, which may be why they are poor quality.

This is the second time I have ordered this brand of filter. The first three that I ordered and have used lasted longer than my previous filter brand. My water tastes good without a filter; but, this filter does improve it.

It a disposable water filter. It is much less expensive than the major brand, has the same flow capacity and does a very good job of filtering my water from the refrigerator. I had tried others but they caused my water dispenser to make a loud noise and flow very slow.

This one doesn’t. Very good valve.

We generally replace these about every six months trouble-free, but ran into an issue this time. When I first installed the cartridge this time, it seemed like it wasn’t fitting just right, but locked into place, so I thought everything was fine.

About a week later, I noticed some water on one of the fridge shelves and started looking around. Appeared was coming from the water filter area so I open up the door and was greeted with a cup or so of water.

I removed the cartridge, and after investigating a bit more, appeared that that when I originally installed the cartridge, the cartridge o-rings weren’t making perfect contact with the housing for the cartridge, allowing just the slightest amount of seepage.

I took a couple of paper towels and carefully cleaned the surface of the housing where the o-rings make contact and the neck of the cartridge itself and the o-rings, then reinstalled. It’s been 2 days now, and no more seepage, so I’ll probably be doing this every time I replace a cartridge from now on, just to ensure I don’t end up with another leak.

I don’t think it was a product defect, probably wasn’t careful enough when I installed.

Quality, factory original filter at about 1/2 the price of buying it directly from Whirlpool. Received it in less than a week after placing the order. We’ve found our new source for replacement refrigerator filters.

I purchased two of the filters. I put one in the fridge and kept the other to put in when the other expires.

I gave the product itself, five stars as it is deserving, however, to suggest that it requires replacement every six months is, in my opinion, largely overstated. If you fridge has a water dispenser that is used several times every day, (large family) then maybe, just maybe you would benefit from a six month schedule.

On the other hand, if you are like most households whose dispenser might be used 3-4 times a day, your filter should last you 12-18 months, or more. Further, if you only have an ice-maker model, filters should last two years, or more unless you’re running an illegal bar out of your kitchen.

The warning that you may see appear on your fridge is set like a timer and has nothing to do with degradation of water quality, so don’t let that necessarily scare you into rushing to replace your filter.

Let your taste buds be your guide.

This filter is not the same quality as the previous ones – not sure what has changed but within weeks the flow rate started to diminish to the point that by the recommended replacement time, our water dispenser has basically become unusable.

We are a 2 person household on a top-notch municipal water supply so water quality or excessive usage is definitely not a contributing factor. We will give the subscription service one more try and see if the issue continues with our next filter.

I think its a great subscription. However I’m not a fan of not being able to adjust the frequency at which I need the filter. its odd to have a subscription where you don’t allow people to have control over the frequency.

I also spent 30 mins trying to call them and chat with someone just to have no solution.

These filters are great. No need to buy bottled water. My refrigerator actually makes a gurgling sound when it was time to change it. I found out by trying to figure out why the fridge was making that noise.

I ordered these 2 very expensive refrigerator water filters and the advertised labeling was much different than the filters I received. They are gonna fit in the Fridge , but the labeling I received does not mark it as a whirlpool item and the label it self is non English language.

It is made in Taiwan. I’m going to use them, but I have no idea of the effectiveness of the filter. The filters are not in a individual box like the one shown and the labeling is not like the one shown in the photo.

This is an expensive product. Although is filtering the water but is leaking. I have to keep a tray under the filter to collect the water and have to emptied it al least once a day. I will put up with this inconvenience until it expires and I will buy it from the manufacturer next time.

Dont buy this product it is not compatible with my Whirlpool WRRF560SEYM05.

Tried 2 of these. The filter door wont shut and secure this filter. Very frustrating. They appear the exact same size, but just wont go in all the way and allow the filter door to close behind it. I put the original back in and filter door closes.

I will avoid this brand in the future. Pics show the white filter that fits/works fine and the purple units that wont work. Beware.

We have had professional plumbers (as well as us) try to put a new filter in our Jenn-Air under counter ice maker. We even spent another $49 to purchase a second one thinking perhaps it was warped. The plumber tried.

The unit was professionally installed. No problems. I, the customer, ordered and installed the water filter three months ago; it was easy to install. So far, ice is clear and tasteless! So far, so good.

I subscribed to new water filter every 9 months or so.

This filter is a must have for my free standing ice machine. For my model, a filter is actually optional, so one might be tempted not to spend the money on one, but the ice is completely clear & tasteless!! Worth every cent! In the past I didn’t realize there was a recommended KitchenAid filter, so I ordered a random brand from a popular website.

It cost less, but did not fit, even though guaranteed to fit by the seller. After many attempts to resolve the issue with them, I realized I was duped into buying a look-alike. I now only order from you for authorized KitchenAid/Whirlpool products.

The filter pops right in, and makes a significant difference in the quality of the ice.

Received 1st water filter broken. Got on queue with customer service chat. Replaced it for free. Did not have to send back 1st broken one.
