I have tried SO MANY products for my fine, naturally curly hair, with disappointing results. Saw this line and landed on this product for the Volume and Weightless claims. Washed my hair last night, applied as instructed, did almost nothing to encourage the curl.
Yet, this morning I have a FULL HEAD of curls, even to the roots. My hair is soft and natural looking. I could add another Curlsmith product (which I am currently researching now) for more definition, but all things considered, I am completely content to leave it alone.

I have tried soooo many curl mousses and this is by far my favorite. I have 2c/3a curls so I needed a lightweight product that wouldn’t weigh down my hair. After washing my hair I use a leave-in conditioner, heat spray, and this mousse for definition.
I scrunch the product in and dilute with a spray bottle of water and then rescrunch it. Then I use a diffuser and end up with absolutely gorgeous loose curls. Don’t forget to scrunch the crunch! Though truth be told, this product is less crunchy than others which is nice.
I do wish they had a gel to go with this mousse to help hold the curl longer. On days 2/3/4 I usually spray more water on my hair and rescrunch the curls to define them again. Even without the extra hold I still live this product because it’s the only one that has worked to give my curls definition and volume without weighing them down or making them greasy.
I received this product free for my honest review. I have been using this for about a week now and have noticed that my hair has more volume, bounce, and softness. However there isn’t the curl definition I was hoping for with a mousse titled curl and wave defining.
That being said I do enjoy the benefits I have noticed and will definitely continue to use this product. I am unsure if I will purchase more when it runs out since my current focus is on defining my curls.
I typically have 2b wavy hair and depending on products I use on my hair and the environment I often have 2a or 2c hair. I was hoping for a solid 2c using this product. If anything this helps combat the 2a for more of the day then without it.
I still notice my curls loose their oomph by the end of the day. I would recommend this to someone just looking for a mousse that provides volume and bounce, but if you are looking to enhance curls I’d say try elsewhere.
Let me start by saying, if you have fine/thin hair, or if your hair is otherwise easily weighed down, this product is not for you. That being said, when used on the appropriate hair types (coarser/thicker types with a natural curl pattern), this product is amazing! I use Moroccanoil first on my hair, then apply a small amount of my Redken curl cream, and end with whatever mousse or gel I’m using.
With this product, I can skip the curl cream and still have well-defined, non-frizzy curls! I have to stress you only need a SMALL AMOUNT of this product; do NOT put your regular-sized glob of mousse in your hand! Scrunching like normal after applying is important too, even though you don’t end up with the same crunch as other products.
That took me some getting used to–remembering to still scrunch even though the texture was different.

I have been a longtime fan of bumble & bumble products. This curl mousse was kindly gifted and I had my husband and mother try it as they love to use mousse. Here’s the consensus between all of us. The scent is very pleasant! My husband said it’s a bit feminine, but he would still use it.

I’ve been using this product for a few years. I have mostly wavy hair with a few ringlets at my nape. My hair is fine but have lots of it. It frizzes easy in heat. I find, for me, it’s best as a last layer or as a refresher the following day.
I’ll scrunch into my just dried hair to tame the waves into more defined shape or next day scrunch in dry or after I’ve water spritzed my hair to waken it (and it has then air dried). I find it lightweight and don’t need much, lasts me ages.

Unless You Have An Allergy To It (Which Is Common), There’s No Reason To Fear This Ingredient, As It Is Safe In Such Small Quantities. There Is No Actual Evidence That It Causes Hair Loss, And It’s Actually Used In Many Cosmetics.
This product holds curl but contains both paragons and sulphate. I wanted something free from these ingredients and purchased on Amazon. I had been using LUS brand but it’s expensive. I noted no ingredients listed on Amazon which should have been my first clue.
But, on various websites and Instagram, this is listed as “curly girl approved”. It DRIES my hair and so I came here, to look at the ingredients. It’s going to the garbage now that I know why my hair is so dried out after use.

I have type 3a hair and this is one of the few hair products I’ve repurchased repeatedly. I transitioned to my naturally curly hair over a year ago, and after trying lots of gels and heavier hair products, I decided to switch to a mousse.
How I use it: After washing and conditioning my hair, and applying a lightweight leave-in conditioner or cream, I use this mousse. It gives great definition and is lightweight enough so my hair doesn’t look like a puffy blob! I refresh by spraying my hair with water and scrunching in the mousse where needed.
As another reviewer noted, I only apply this product when my hair is wet.
I love this foam! My absolute favorite foam, and I have tried loads of them in the 3 years since I started wearing my natural texture. It is not very moisturizing so I use a curl cream or leave-in under it.

These are two no-no ingredients for my curly hair. Proteins kill my curls and leave my hair dry, frizzy and impossible to detangle. Silicone is simply a bad ingredient for most curly hair. It coats the hair shaft preventing moisture from penetrating, leaving hair dry and unmanageable.

I’m honestly surprised at some of the negative reviews on this. I’m super picky about scents and I think this smells great. Also, the smell doesn’t last so it’s irrelevant. I have long, fine hair (but a lot of it).
I’ve tried a lot volumizing products like caviar, bumble and bumble, BSH, to name a few, but none of them gave me lasting volume after a blow dry like this mousse. On day 3 after a wash my hair still looks good, and it didn’t make my hair look/feel dirty.
I NEVER write reviews, but this product has changed my hair life. I get stopped in the store by strangers telling me they love my hair. Like with all products, I think there are things you can do to increase its success, the most important: blow dry it with a round brush.
I do not even use a flat iron until day two or three, and then only to straighten some of the ends in the back. I am down to fixing my hair 2-3 times a week. On days two and three, I literally wake up, spray dry shampoo at the roots and dry conditioner at the ends, comb it, use the flat iron if absolutely necessary (usually only necessary on the under hair in the back), and hairspray.

I have very fine, mostly straight hair chopped into a pixie cut. The mousse I used last (Redken Bodyfull) left my hair very dry and coarse. I wanted something that controlled frizz and gave me volume, so I picked up the Rusk Plumping Mousse at the recommendation of an ULTA stylist.
This mousse has a light, unobtrusive smell, good texture on the hands, and even application. Used with a round brush, as directed on the packaging, the product gives my hair lots of volume while controlling frizz.
The only downside is that the volume seems to fall throughout the day; I think this is a result of living in the Alabama heat and humidity day in and day out. But my hair doesn’t fall completely flat, so I’m definitely okay with losing a little volume over time.
Overall, this is the best mousse I’ve found for this price, and I’ll continue using it until I find something better.
This is my favourite mousse brand! I still haven’t found the perfect mousse but this is pretty close. My only gripe is that my curly hair just can’t be tamed in extreme humidity. This doesn’t leave my hair feeling too crunchy like other comparable brands.
I have relaxed hair. I rollerset with mousse because creams and gel weigh my hair down. This mousse smells fresh, lightweight, no frizz, and curls were very nice. BUT my hair was dry and crunchy. Could be I used too much so I will try once more.
