20 Best Version Of The Pearl Fishers (2023 Updated)

Required reading for my granddaughter for school. Bought her her own copy for home. Backpack is heavy enough.

i bought this book for a summer reading assignment, and didnt really care about the look of the book, i just needed a usable book. delivery was pretty fast too!

The book was in very good shape. No writings on pages. Well worth it.

I could have sworn I had read this book, and I was really excited about it having a 10th anniversary re-release so I signed up to be on the launch team and received a beautiful complimentary paperback copy from the publisher about a week before the re-release.

Imagine my surprise when I started what I thought would be a quick re-read and realized I had either never read this book before or I had completely forgotten it! I was quickly immersed in a beautiful and compelling story of love and redemption, and I really enjoyed it! I absolutely loved how Mrs.

Afshar imagined Rahab and Salmone and even their family members. I loved how she portrayed the way Rahab was drawn to the God of Israel and repelled by the gods of her own people. And I loved how her family was so wholehearted in their turning from their old gods to fully worshipping the God of Israel! My one complaint about this book is a complaint I also have about most English translations of the Bible so Mrs.

Afshar is in good company. The substitution of the phrase “the Lord” in place of God’s name is a big deal to me and I found it was distracting, didn’t make a lot of sense, and took away significantly from my enjoyment of the story.

While I personally use the name Yahweh, I don’t really mind what name authors and translators choose, so long as it’s a name and not a common noun that they try to turn into a name by capitalizing it.

So I would have been fine with Jehovah, Yahuah, Yah, or any other variation – it just needs to be an actual name when the character is naming the god they worship. It doesn’t make sense when they try to use “the Lord” as His Name, especially when, as in this book, they use the uncapitalized term “lord” to refer to their husband, a tribal leader, and even pagan gods who are “lords” worshipped by the pagans.

It drives me batty that authors are willing to use the names of pagan gods like Molech and Ba’al, both of whom were mentioned in this book quite a lot (and both of whom have names with variable spellings) but are then unwilling to use an actual name for the God of Israel! If this book had taken place after the Babylonian captivity when the Jews starting making this substitution, I would not have found it so frustrating because it would have been historically accurate, but in this context, I thought it really took away from the clarity and power of the story as well as being historically inaccurate.

It was a big deal when Canaanites switched allegiance from their old “lords” to a new One, and knowing a god’s name was an important and necessary part of being able to worship. Please forgive my long rant, but I felt I needed to explain this frustration I had with this book in order for my review to be truthful and just, especially since I decided not to take away a star from my rating and to go ahead and give it 5-stars.

It really is a 5-star book for most readers. The fact that I had to treat reading it as a bit of a code and substitute “Yahweh” in my head every.

Rahab is shrouded in loneliness and guilt. Sold by her father at the age of fifteen, hers has been a life of hardship and shame. The Canaanite gods offer her no comfort—silent and greedy, they take and take but offer no hope, no future.

When word reaches Jericho of a ragtag nomad group called the Hebrews whose God miraculously delivered them from slavery, Rahab is intrigued. As the Hebrews approach, conquering all in their path, her countrymen panic, but Rahab experiences a searing desire to be a part of this people whose God is one of power, mercy, and compassion.

And then the unthinkable happens—she encounters two Hebrew spies in the city and instinctually decides to harbor them. The rest, they say, is history. Rahab’s story is one that most are familiar with: the harlot who shelters two Hebrew spies and is spared—later to become a part of God’s people and even an ancestor to Jesus Christ.

This fictional account of Rahab’s story explores the dynamics of a former harlot marrying a prominent Hebrew man. What restoration must have occurred to make this marriage thrive? The author exquisitely captures the redemptive work in not only Rahab’s heart but also in the heart of her eventual husband, Salmone.

I absolutely loved the imagery that was present throughout the novel: the scarlet cord, the pearl earring, the deadly snake, Jericho’s walls—all tangible elements tied to deeper spiritual truths. I also loved how the author was careful to craft the marriage relationship so that it wasn’t one-sided.

BOTH Salmone and Rahab needed work done in their hearts in order for the marriage to be a success. The pacing was also excellent—nothing felt rushed but unfolded naturally over time. The wins were hard-won and realistic.

I liked that a good portion of the book took place after the marriage, showing that a committed relationship is not easy and takes sacrifice and a dogged pursuit of the other. Beyond the main relationship between Salmone and Rahab, there were many solid side characters who were compelling in their own right.

Rahab’s sister Izzie’s gnawing guilt over offering up her son to Molech was heart-rending and the entire family’s agonizing decision to join the Hebrew camp was also well done. The book came full circle when, at the end, Rahab reconnects with and forgives her father for his egregious sin against her.

Each relationship felt raw and honest and added to the overall appeal of the story. In Pearl in the Sand, the author delves deep into the hidden places of the heart and explores the theme of our value and infinite worth in the eyes of our loving Creator God.

This book is hope-filled and riveting and will stir your affection for the Lord. A big thanks to the author and Moody Publishers for the opportunity to read this book for review! All thoughts and opinions expressed in this review are my own.

This toy is absolutely amazing. I am a sucker for developmental games/toys made for babies that give them the opportunity to meet their developmental milestones! This one is definitely one! I introduced this product to my 4mth old thinking it was going to be very advanced for her age, well think again.

She loved the lights, sounds, and colors. Although, she could only grasp the starfish and lobster she definelty amazed me after a few weeks. She learned the concept on having to reach in to retrieve the figures! That idea blow up for her.

Now she is 6mths and she understands that if an object has an opening she can reach in the retrieve what’s inside( laundry basket, bowl with snacks, even reaching inside a backpack). This toy is great for a baby’s grasping, visual motor, and sensory skills.

As an occupational therapist, I can vouche for this wonderful product.

My 8 month old granddaughter has chosen this as her favorite toy! She always goes straight for this one even when there are other toys all around her to choose from. She loves taking the fishies out and dances to the music! She has other toys that sing songs but this one by far has her reacting the most! I get such incredible joy watching her play with it.

I had this shipped to my house for Christmas and part of the sticker on the front got torn off. Target sent a free replacement (very carefully packaged) which I definitely appreciate! My 6 month old really likes the little animals, once she gets older I’m sure she’ll like putting them in the fishbowl.

For now she loves shoving them across the floor, perfect size for her hands.

With the 3DS shop closing down next year I felt the need to own at least 1 copy of a game from each generation, preferably the definitive third game (luckily still have a copy of Yellow & Silver [wish I never lost my copy of crystal as a kid though]).

While I do already have Diamond, Ive heard for a long time how much better Platinum is and as such I wanted to play it as Pokmon: Legends Arceus managed to actually make me excited about Pokmon again instead of just buying, playing, & putting down a Pokmon game after beating it.

Platinum brought back a lot old memories of playing Diamond as a child, but also with new experiences that I never got to witness as they werent in Diamond or Pearl. Also felt great to go back to an era when Game Freak actually put care and effort into their games which it hasnt felt like theyve really done since Black 2 & White 2 (exception of course being Legends Arceus) as theyve just made the games easier and easier since XY were released.

It was just the case, manual, and inserts. No damage to the printed bits, just a bit of scuffing on the clear plastic cover sleeve–totally expected. Inserts and manuals were free of damage–just the expected level of curling these DS cases cause naturally.

As an aside, the cover art is really pretty with that holofoil background. I’d purchased the bare games separately a long while ago, so it’s great to be able to get cases for them now and make them a bit safer to store.

(The games are also great!).

These pens are the best. I am a traveling notary and paralegal so I use pens ALL the time and I’ve had the most difficult time finding good reliable pens that feel good in the hands and are of consistent and good quality.

The ink flow of these pens are amazing, they never ever skip and the ink is very fluid. My customers are lawyers and doctors so they also know a good pen is hard to find. I’ve paid over $30 for pens but none of them even come close to this quality.

They are also fancy enough to take out at a high profile meeting. My clients are always complimenting these pens, when I let them use one that is, lol. I do wish they were easier to find.

I haven’t written in black pen in years. Like, two decades-years. But, I love Tül products and these sirens had been calling to me for awhile, so I finally went sailing happily into their lair. They didn’t disappoint.

Each pen is more gorgeous outside than the next, and the Ink flow does not disappoint. If you know Tül gel ink, this is it, baby. This is the kind of product you don’t mind using up because you’ll get to buy more.

Standard perlers that function as they are supposed to. Nothing extra special about them, so they get 3 stars (average). What I do like is that there was a good selection of colors to choose from and I got the exact colors I needed without having to buy colors I don’t need.

I wish they sold the patterned beads separately, too.

Perler beads perform as expected. Easy to put on peg board for creating design, easy to meld with regular iron, and stay together. Color stays the same, no changes from heat and melding. Theses were used to make the green alien from Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

“A brand new copy of Pokemon Platinum for only $25?! This is too good to be true!” And that’s because it is. These cartridges are counterfeited, and so are the game’s cases and manuals. The worst part of it is because it’s counterfeited it crashes CONSTANTLY, and HEAVY emphasis on CONSTANTLY.

It’s pretty much MANDATORY to save your game every 5-10 minutes because most of the time it will just randomly freeze for no reason, causing to close out the game and use data, and it happens almost all the time.

I had to do the same exact NPC battle 3 times in a row because it froze twice, seriously don’t buy it here if you value your sanity and don’t want to save your game every 5 minutes or deal with constant freezing.

Unfortunately, the low quality of this cartridge is something I have to deal with because I can’t afford a legit copy right now (DS Pokemon games are hard to get). Buy from anywhere but here, even GameStop is a better choice.

Platinum is one of the most fun and lore-heavy games for the DS. It tends to freeze at times, but this is actually very common amongst copies of the game, because of the fit in the DS slot. Just make sure to save your game frequenly.

Although I got the game for a better price than anything else I saw, the used gaming market is pretty bad right now. So, save your money and wait until prices are normal again unless you’re absolutely itching for an authentic copy.

Bought this recently and used it several times. Haven’t caught anything on it yet, but it does handle well in the surf. It cast fairly well and it’s durable also. I haven’t caught anything on it yet, but I have had strikes.

Usually tails get bit off on short strikes, but the paddletail is still on with no tears. You also get four for same amount you pay for three from another company.

These baits worked extremely well. The action was life like and very easy to control in the water. I used them in Hilton Head where there wasn’t anything but sharks biting! They survived the bite as crazy as that may be.

Note you need to rinse with fresh water and place back in holder to preserve user quality.

I bought several of the Tsunami swim shad soft bait lures for a recent striper fishing trip. The lures worked very well as we caught our boat limit for keeper striper not to mention the number of stripers which we threw back.

Everyone was very pleased with the results from using these lures.

I love fishing Zoom Super Flukes, especially shallow. It sinks slowly and is very flexible. The tail kicks nicely when worked as a jerkbait. I catch a ton of bass on these, and the pickerel like them, too (which for me is a bonus because taking a pickerel home for dinner is a great treat after a day bass fishing.

) I rig it weightless Texas style on a wide gap hook and it works great. My favorite colors for clear, highly pressured water are: watermelon red and bluegill.

Love the flukes. They are cheap and very effective way to catch some nice bass. Had to try the lemon shad color for my river since chartreuse is a top producer. I think these actually do better with the added pearl color.

Love the action. Can’t beat the flukes from Zoom!!.

This bassinet does everything the description says it will. I know some reviewers complain that the movement of the bassinet startles their little ones. As long as my baby is swaddled the movement of the bassinet seems to soothe her.

The vibration is not as powerful as some other baby products but she doesn’t seem to mind. The vibration, sounds, and lights will shut off after a half hour but luckily for me my baby doesn’t mind that and it saves on batteries.

I love that when you rock the bassinet the bed stays level instead of allowing baby to roll into the side of the sleeper. I replaced an arms reach co-sleeer with this and we both prefer this bassinet.

The mattress and fitted sheet that come with the bassinet are adequate and baby doesn’t seem to find the mattress to be too thin (it is similar in comfort level to a pack n play mattress). I did remove the mobile because I find my baby is easily distracted.

My little one is 2 months old, 23 inches long, and has room to stretch out.

This was an item I put on my registry and I was glad we didn’t go with another expensive option. I felt like my baby was safe and comfortable, and it was easy to get her in and out. We didn’t use the mobile, it was kind of in the way and unnecessary.

I liked the mesh sides a lot for breathability and safety. My only complaint (and this is only because we had a baby in the 95%) is that my daughter outgrew the bassinet when she was 4 months. I would have liked something to last 6 months, but she transitioned to her crib just fine.

If you have a bigger baby, it’s something to consider.

Regarding the shopping for my 1st baby, After a long time I Can finally say that I have bought something that my baby likes. Before this I already tried 2 courts in which my baby can’t do anything except crying but this one is comfortable for her and she can enjoy and play before sleep.

She feels safe but also can see around due to net used in cradle. Vibration of Cradle is bit less for me but maybe for babies it’s fine. One thing that I want is smaller the length of moving arm because when I move it strikes the stand of it and baby gets frightened of the sound it will be perfect if it’s battery power so keep revolving.

Rhymes and poems can be added more to make more fun. Build and quality is very good also very easy to assemble. Rest it’s a wonderful court for kids. Material is also high quality. Safe, economical and esthetically beautiful.

A problem I have experienced with other softgel tabs in general that I have taken are that they start to dissolve either in my mouth or while going down my throat (I have sensitive tastebuds). When I began taking Probiotic Pearls Complete, that was one of my main concerns.

I have had a constant issue with bloating and some very bad discomfort in my stomach. They are so easy to take and I have no issue with getting them down. Barely any taste to them at all. They are small and hard which in my opinion makes them so easy to swallow.

These frogs have become a bread and butter lure for me this year. Ive had decent luck using other frogs but have had alot of problems with legs getting torn off and durability issues in general. I dont have alot of money to be buying packs of frogs all the time.

I bought a sexy frog to have in my “frog box” and it sat for a while. Finally I got sick of going through frog after frog so i tied on my KVD sexy frog to try out. BAM! fish on the first cast! The hookup ratio on these frogs is really good and these frogs are tough as nails.

Rarley do i hook my fish in the lips due to bass trying to inhale and swallow the lure. Almost always hooked in the roof of the mouth. Weedless and great action when you twitch them fast. Ive caught alot of fish and my original lure is still going strong.

Buy one and try em. I love em.

Bought this bait thinking it would be a great addition to my tackle. Used it on two casts and was very satisfied with the movement and display presented. On the third cast, I saw two splashes as the bait hit the water and retrieved the bait to find that the plug had flew out during the cast.

7 bucks for three casts, safe to say I’m d. issapointed.

You want your turntable to sound better than your CD player. This album knocks it outta the park. Those who say it sounds like their CDs are crazy. I had 3 CD versions of this album from the first release.

This sounds incredible. The cymbals the Drums the Base. The guitar. The vocals are perfect. So ya. Boo to you who dont go for this. Its perfection cranked.

this is a classic grunge album that energized and moved all those who were there for this short lived music genre. pretty much every song is a hit or at least passable to let play onto the next chart topper! great for vinyl cause you dont have to play with the needle switching it around.

So glad this was re-issued! The pressing sounds great. The cover seems flimsier than I remember, but all the re-issued vinyl and new vinyl seems to be like that. Get off my lawn!

This is my first purchase from MZ Wallace But it definitely will not be my last. I have always been a lover of luxury designer handbags but I was tired of being taken advantage of with high skyrocketing prices and inferior materials so I have been searching out other types of handbags that look like very high end handbags for a fraction of the cost yet are so classy and versatile.

I absolutely love this black leather bag with the gold and red details. It is the perfect size. All of the pockets are perfectly placed. And my favorite is the three different straps which can make it a dressy shoulder bag, a Crossbody, and I use the wide Crossbody strap to make it a belt bag.

I noticed a few other reviews mentioned sticky zippers but my zippers are as smooth as can be. I only hope that this brand makes other colors and glossy. It really ramps up the chicness. I am 1000% happy with my purchase.

You wont be getting what you see in the photo for the significant price you are paying. The braided strap must be something new that they added and they call it “untreated leather” Well the first time it touched my clothing it shed all over with what looked like giant dandruff of some sort.

I guess it was leather skin? Anyway, obviously couldnt strut that look around so i put it aside and used product without it. When finally got in touch with customer service they asked me to send pics which i did of course.

No help. Said “the leather is untreated so this kind of wear is expected” I tried to explain that it was like this the whole way around the chain with no wear at all and No Go. Dont have a replacement, sorry! Bad taste left for me for this brand.

I purchased the Kintsugi Shadow 6000 immediately upon seeing pics of the shoe on saucony. com. I’m a long time fan and I know a nice pair of Shadow 6000s when I see one. anyways, there is nothing about this shoe that will let you down.

It’s extremely nice. The material selections and overall quality are superb. I’m not playing when I say this pair of sneakers has materials that rival any collaborative effort that I’ve personally owned.

The suede is baby soft. The nubuck is “buttery”. The exposed foam on the tongue is a nice touch. The “leather” sockliner & tongue liner are a nice touch. The colorway on this shoe is gorgeous in-hand.

O. L. brand and we bought two of these Winter Disco Surprise Furry Pets from BestBuy. com last month. I hadn’t seen them but have purchased other “pets” for my friend’s children and my niece. I understand the dolls can be controversial but hopefully everyone is fine with these animals.

They actually arrive in a Furry stick on ‘costume’ that is peeling off already so there is no way to preserve it. Underneath you reveal the “pet” we got a Rare Gold one which was fun to open- especially bc the name is something to do with Ziggy Stardust which makes me laugh every time.

Most of the animals come in the balls but they are for storage or for kids to lose and me to break my ankle on later. but these integrate a water / glitter display by allowing a small amount of water in between two layers of plastic and then it is like a half snow globe.

I took the pictures over a month ago and don’t have the toy to get a better shot but you may be able to see it on the one with more gold glitter.

So my daughter has wanted these lol surprise toys for awhile but I always felt they were too expensive. We found the teal and pink ones on clearance at our Walmart for $17 and they were originally marked $33.

13 so I thought hey why not. We got them for her birthday and she was so happy to get them. But she and I both were disappointed in what you actually get. She received one small doll with a tiny version of the same doll and two outfits with two shoes and a water bottle for the doll.

that’s it! I’m glad we only paid $17 for it. She does use the container it all came in as a carrying case but one case holds both doll sets and the other just sits empty. Definitely not worth $34 I don’t care how popular it is.

I don’t see what all the excitement is about with all these LOL dolls and toys. HOWEVER, my daughter who was turning 5 really wanted this for her birthday so I got it for her. I have to say I actually enjoyed playing with this! My daughter loved putting the sea shell in water and watching it dissolve and then opening all the toys (which are tiny by the way).

Just a FYI, I thought about putting the sea shell in my daughter’s bath because it is just like a bath bomb. DO NOT do this! When the sea shell dissolves it changes the colour of the water to a very dark reddish purple which stains your skin! It does say in the instructions that it stains your skin so long as you read you’ll be good! Overall, I definitely recommend.
