Kirkland Signature Pure Vanilla Extract is made using superior vanilla beans from the orchid species, Vanilla planifolia. Even though there are hundreds of organic compounds that make up vanilla, it is the naturally occurring vanilla that gives vanilla its deep, rich flavor and aroma.
Kirkland Signature Pure Vanilla Extract is blended to 2000 PPM natural vanilla. Use Kirkland Signature Pure Vanilla Extract to enhance your favorite recipes and baked goods. Rich, deep color Beautiful pure vanilla.
This extra-rich and creamy vanilla is perfect for baking and bears social benefits that make it all the more sweet. Our extract is made using the highest quality, bourbon vanilla beans from Madagascar.
It smells really good, I’ll say that upfront. Very wonderfully orange-y, like peeling a fresh one. But it is so oily, and I couldn’t figure out how to incorporate it into anything. For water and cocktails, it was just like a little orange-y oil slick floating on top.
No mixability means not useful for my purposes. For baking, I used as much as I dared — it is oil, and I didn’t want to throw off my recipe by adding too much — and I couldn’t detect any orange flavor in the dessert.
I’m sticking with grating and squeezing and DIY homemade orange flavor.
This Product Is Perfect For Restaurants, Food Service, And Home Cooks Alike Our Vanilla Extraction Utilizes A Highly Advanced Heat Percolation Process That Ensures A Deep And Rich Vanilla Flavor Rodelle Pure Vanilla Extract Is Made From The Finest Hand Selected Vanilla Beans.
I go through multiple bottles of vanilla extract in a year and bought this when all the others were sold out. It’s not as good quality as McCormick, M&B or Simply Organic. It has a strong smell of alcohol upon opening that isn’t present in any other vanilla extract.
Next time I’ll just wait and purchase better quality because this just isn’t it. It’s priced at a fraction of it’s competitors for a reason.
Rodelle vanilla is very good, but the bottle design is poor. You end up wasting a lot of product because it runs down the lip of the bottle opening. If a vanilla retailer sells vanilla in a better bottle I will try it.
I suspect part of the problem is the low surface tension of the product since it contains alcohol. Of course, a thickening agent could be added, but I wouldn’t recommend that. If a bottle could be molded with a small nozzle inside the threaded opening that would work.
Alternatively, a cap with a built in eye dropper would work.
I originally got this vanilla a few years ago at a large discount store. I finished the bottle and tossed it, thinking I could buy another. Nooo. It was no longer being sold in that store. Fortunately I remembered the name and I found these two bottles that are exactly like the first bottle I bought a few years back.
I love the flavor of this vanilla. Would you believe I add it to my coffee in the morning? It’s so rich and I add a little stevia too. Totally delicious.

The bottle came with the safety seal intact. However, my experience is completely different than those leaving 5 stars. This smells like pure grain alcohol and pours like it as well; it is very watery compared to traditional vanilla extract.
The smell of the grain alcohol was so overpowering that if there was a hint of vanilla I missed it. I had a couple of whole vanilla beans on hand so I put them in the bottle in the hopes that this can be salvaged into something usable.
As is, it would never be suitable for any baking or other vanilla extract use.
The perfect vanilla for baking. I buy about four bottles of this every year. For my niece to do her baking with. In return, I get home made cookies and pies. 🙂 More specifically, chocolate chip cookies.
Hers are the best ever. And using high quality ingredients is what makes them so. This is why I pay for the Wakins. Using Wakins is the difference between just okay. And flipping awesome. Her chocolate chip cookies are so amazing, that they won second place in a Christmas cookie contest.
Watkins Vanilla was the only vanilla we used when I was growing up. Small story: I grew up very rural in the late 40’s, 50’s and 60’s and a Watkin’s Man would stop by occasionally selling all sorts of things including spices and flavorings.
There was also a bread man, and probably others as well. ) For many years I had forgotten about Watkins flavorings. The COVID thing has made ordering on line the way to get many supplies. The Vanilla is the same high quality I remember from years ago.
Thank you for still manufacturing your fine products.
If you like to cook, this amazing Pure Vanilla Extract is for you! Produced from a proprietary blend of select vanilla beans and an exclusive cold extraction process that gently extracts and preserves the more than 300 distinctive flavor compounds present in vanilla beans, this flavorful extract is a delicious pantry essential.
Great for when baking classic sweet treats like homemade cookies or pastries or for adding an interesting depth of flavor to savory soups, sauces, vegetables and more.
I really like the Nielsen-Massey vanilla. It is traditional, fragrant and tasty. I considerate it to be a consistently high quality vanilla, and I add exactly the amount called for in a recipe; no need to add extra.
I like the glass bottle it comes in and I feel that the price at Zulily is fair and reasonable. Finally, it comes very well wrapped & packed. I have recommended this vanilla from Zulily to friends several times, purchase for myself & gifts for others.
This is real Vanilla Bean Bourbon flavor from Madagascar. It is expensive but once you have tried it you will never go back to the lesser vanilla flavorings. I started using this brand by error over 20 yrs ago and the smell and flavor it gives to baked items is unbelievable.
People will praise your baked goods, and ask for the recipes. You will never go back to a lesser vanilla extract. Buy an 8 oz. bottle around $32. but keep it in the refrigerator and it will last for years and still have the wonderful smooth and mellow vanilla taste.
If you are like me and it takes time and effort to make those wonderful baked items then you go the extra mile for that over the top taste. It is really worth it.
I purchased this vanilla 4 months ago. This morning I went to use it and the inside of the cap is black and there is black residue in the vanilla. I gave it a tiny taste and it is bitter and disgusting.
The bottle was stored properly and I have never had this happen with a new bottle of vanilla. I paid almost $20 for this small bottle because I thought I was purchasing a quality bottle of vanilla. I was not.
I will not be purchasing this brand again and it’s too late to get a refund.
McCormick Pure Vanilla derives its rich subtle flavor from the finest quality imported vanilla beans. A teaspoon of pure vanilla is a wonderful way to enhance the flavor of many foods. Vanilla is so versatile; it is one of the world’s most loved and tantalizing flavors.
I just opened a newly purchased (from the highest volume supermarket chain in NY), brand new bottle of your Pure Vanilla Extract. It is PALE in color and smells like a bottle of chemicals! I opened it immediately following finishing what was left from a bottle I’ve been using for about TWO years.
I needed another tsp of vanilla to finish what I was making. Thank goodness I didn’t just move quickly & dump it in. I could see immediately that the color was light. Then I smelled it. absolutely awful, NOT vanilla extract.
I decided to go to your page to see if perhaps there was a recall for a bad batch, but noooo. instead, there were several reviews telling you EXACTLY what I had in my hands and YOU replied with dismissive, insulting answers.
There is SOMETHING WRONG with your vanilla extract. PLEASE investigate and stop whatever is going out to your customers!.
Hello; I grew up using McCormick’s pure vanilla extract and have always been satisfied until now. I emptied a current bottle and opened a new one to immediately see that the color was weaker and the scent was off.
It smelled more like watered down alcohol. Please don’t tell me that the vanilla scent intensifies as it ages, because I’ve long loved opening a fresh bottle and enjoying the rich vanilla flavor. I’m not sure where you’re getting the information that I’m reading on other 1-star recent reviews with the same complaints that the flavor will intensify as it ages.
It’s not there now, and it always has been before. Also, it is difficult to pour small amounts from the bottles now that the company has eliminated pour spout lids. A sad day in my baking world!.
My grandmother told me to never use imitation vanilla extract (no offense to families who do 🤗) so I always go for McCormick. It’s a baking staple in our home. It smells so delicious! FYI, if you want your home to smell nice at all times here are 3 vanilla extract hacks: 1) Soak a few cotton balls in vanilla extract, and hide them in places around the home.
Sit it on something that won’t be ruined or stained. 2) If you have a bottle of vanilla that’s about to expire, pour the remaining vanilla into an oven-safe mug, and bake until the aroma of vanilla fills your home.
3) Dip a cotton swab in vanilla extract and rub the vanilla over the top of the light bulb. When you turn the light on, the heat from the bulb helps distribute the vanilla smell throughout the room.
Give your cookies, cakes, cupcakes and more a delicious vanilla flavor with this Wilton Clear Imitation Vanilla Flavoring Extract, 8 oz. Versatile and flavorful, this vanilla extract is great for giving your treats a delicious bakery flavor.
Perfect for all of your baking needs; add it to your cakes and cupcakes, or try it in your favorite cookie dough or buttercream frosting recipe. Best of all, this vanilla extract is clear, so it won’t change the color of a pure white frosting, dough or batter.
Safe to use in any recipe calling for a flavor extract, this sweet vanilla flavoring is a great way to add warm, delicious flavor to your baked goods.
The title and description is misleading – nowhere does it say that it is imitation vanilla. The only way you would know is to enlarge the picture (it says artificial really small) or when it gets delivered.
I ordered two – one arrived broken. They will be going back.
I needed to make a lot of white frosting for Easter baking. I originally purchased a small bottle at Joanns of the clear vanilla. I was running low and so I got this larger bottle to help get me through all my baking.
I was pretty surprised and disappointed when I went to add this vanilla to my white frosting and it was brown! It was a very light brown but I was expecting it to be clear like water like the smaller bottle.
I have been using Wilton products since my parents had a mom&pop bake shop when I was a kid. You can’t beat the flavor of this vanilla product,I always use the buttercream icing recipe for all my decorating.
In our opinion, this is as good as it gets. This exclusive product was developed especially for the cook who prefers to eliminate alcohol and gluten from favorite recipes without compromising on flavor.
The delicate flavor of this pure vanilla has another great advantage in that its flavor will be maintained even under high baking temperatures. It can be used in any recipe that calls for vanilla extract.
The flavor holds up well in high-temperature baking. Ingredients: vanilla bean extractives, natural vanillin, glycerin, sugar (28 gms in 4 oz), xanthan gum, and water.
I don’t know why everyone is giving this vanilla such high reviews. It is the worst vanilla I’ve ever purchased. It doesn’t smell or look like vanilla. It’s so thick you can barely get it out of the bottle.
And when you do manage to get it out, you loose have of it cause it’s so thick it plops out all over. Don’t waste your money!.
It smells wonderful and also tastes wonderful. Price is even better as you can not find this prices any place other than here. These is my third time buying this product. cakes and bakery that you can smell from a mile out.
Spice Islands Pure Vanilla Extract is a flavorful and versatile ingredient that may be used in a variety of recipes. It’s sourced from Madagascar and harvested at the peak of freshness. This extract is pure and all natural.
It’s ideal to use in baking and adds full-bodied flavor. Add it as an ingredient in cake or cookie mixtures, custards, ice cream and much more. This vanilla extract comes in a convenient, compact bottle that’s easy to store in a kitchen pantry or cabinet.
The No Corn Syrup formula is phenomenal. I was going to make vanilla bean cookies this Xmas, but luckily I looked up reviews for the beans at my store. It turns out many vanilla beans, especially cheaper ones, tend to be quite flavorless.
So instead of one bean I decided to use a tablespoon of this extract, and they turned out amazing! The flavor of this brand is great for the price and the all-natural formula doesn’t disappoint.
I love all pure vanilla extracts, but this is the best one. Most vanillas are made using vodka or a similar alcohol (you can’t get drunk off vanilla extract,) which is good. However, this vanilla is made using bourbon.
This gives the vanilla extract a richer, deeper flavor. I use it in everything, and it is absolutely delicious.
Frontier Vanilla Extract is made from the Bourbon variety of vanilla beans and has no added sugar. Buttery smooth, extra-sweet flavour and subtle floral notes make this vanilla extract great for desserts and sauces.
But don’t stop there vanilla is also now commonly used in smoothies, savoury dishes and even DIY home care.
We used to pass on “flavoring” version because the thought of the word “flavoring” meant artificial or imitation. Vanilla flavor is still made from pure vanilla beans and is not imitation vanilla. Due to pandemic I couldn’t get extract of vanilla and had to buy this.
WOW what an awesome surprise purchase. This Vanilla flavor is just like vanilla extract except it is made without soaking the beans in alcohol. We love that it is a smooth flavor in our baking.
Frontier Vanilla is Excellent!! It has the BEST Flavor and Aroma! I won’t use anything else since I found this about 6 months ago! I was tired of all the cheap yucky Vanilla’s in stores so went searching , tried several.
From the finest imported vanilla beans in the world, Flavorganics Organic Vanilla Extract is great for any baking recipe. Add a tablespoon to your family’s secret pancake mix. Water, Organic Alcohol (35%), Organic Vanilla Bean Extractives.
I usually buy two bottles of Flavorganics Vanilla at a time. I use TONS of vanilla in my baking and this product really delivers. If the recipe calls for 1 and a 1/2 teaspoons, I’ll use 2 teaspoons. It never overpowers but definitely makes a wonderful difference in the recipe.
It’s has a smooth and “creamy-vanilla” flavor to it. Don’t hesitate to give it a try.
Today I opened the recently received bottle of Flavorganics Organic Vanilla Extract to make some homemade brownies. It smelled wonderful and I was looking forward to the end result. Normally I buy another brand of organic vanilla, but I wanted to try this one because other reviewers spoke highly of the taste and smell.
When it came time to add the vanilla, I encountered a most annoying reality as part of the contents intended for the measuring spoon was dribbling down the side of the bottle and onto the countertop.
I have no way of knowing whether the design of the bottle was intentional or just a boneheaded blunder, but I feel very strongly about getting the FULL use of the products I pay for. BUYER BEWARE! The bottle is poorly designed and you will lose a portion of the contents with each use.
The manufacturer is no doubt aware of this issue and could have inserted a drip-proof pour spout into the neck of the bottle, or just used a different bottle that didn’t leak the contents while dispensing.
I thought about using an eye dropper to dispense the vanilla but decided that I shouldn’t have to. So I wrote this review instead.
Flavorganics Organic Vanilla Extract is the best because the vanilla taste doesn’t get lost in the baking. The flavor is strong, rich, and oh-so vanilla-tasting. I put it in everything from apple pie to biscotti.
We also add vanilla to all our hot cereals, French toast batter, and organic fruit cocktails. A reviewer thought the vanilla had a strong alcohol smell. Not to worry, the alcohol burns off when heated.

I do a lot of baking at home from breads and granola to cookies and waffles and I go through a lot of vanilla. I tried this one given it’s good reviews and the price but the comparison of this vanilla to the last batch of safe, Mexican vanilla that I had was night and day.
The previous vanilla I had was brown but crisp and clear whereas this is cloudy looking and not appealing. For someone less concerned about quality, this is probably fine but vanilla shouldn’t be cloudy given the ingredients.
so that makes me very suspicious of what is actually in this! While most vanilla has an alcohol base, they still smell pleasant. I find this to smell more like disinfectant than something I want to add to my recipes.
I’m a inspired cake decorator and I frequently have to make vanilla flavored treats and I use this every time! I recommend the “Oils” because they’re stronger than the other vanilla flavors I have tried before.

I mainly use vanilla in baking, I bake to take cookies to work for large groups of hiking trail maintenance volunteers. I doubt that people would notice the difference between the Single Fold and one of the more expensive varieties in my cakes and cookies.
My wife thinks it is good, but I’m not a foodie and probably couldn’t tell the difference between this and McCormick’s. It is more economical than most store and on-line offerings and I like the fact it comes in a glass bottle vs.
plastic. My last 8 oz bottle only lasted 9 months so I bought a 16 oz bottle the second time around. The only complaints I have are an over abundance of bubble wrap in packaging and that it is pretty easy to crack the cap.
That said, my single bottle order came well protected. I had to laugh at all the shipping options. I’m good at planning ahead and not over paying for shipping. Free is GOOD!.
I have long enjoyed Nielsen-Massey vanilla. I tried Slofoodgroup 3 bean vanilla and was found that it had an amazing flavor. Actually like this better NM vanilla. Most subtle flavor notes with complex flavor bouquet.
Would highly recommend this for anyone who is a vanilla connoisseur.
I haven’t tried my vanilla yet. I had just purchased vanilla from someone local. I know, from all the great reviews, I will love it. The website is so easy to navigate and I like the thorough explanation of the products.
The vanilla arrived so fast that I was surprised. I will be purchasing more items from this wonderful site.
Premium, hand-selected Heilala Vanilla beans are used in a unique cold extraction, slow percolation method over 3 months to gently draw out and preserve the delicate aromatics and produce a sweet, creamy and complex vanilla extract.
No sugar, chemicals or artificial anything. 98% of the world’s vanilla is artificial. Heilala is part of the rare 2% of real, pure vanilla. Products that are labelled as vanilla essence are typically imitation vanilla, a man-made chemical compound that mimics the flavor and aroma of real vanilla.
Heilala uses premium vanilla beans grown in Tonga and hand-selected for their freshness before being dried under the Pacific Sun.
I’m allergic to wheat/and while the alcohol in most vanilla extract is from what/this one isn’t. But that’s not the main reason I’m ordering this vanilla for the 4th time – and btw/this time I’m ordering 2 bottles.
I love it. It’s great for baking! My family has commented since I started using it that many of my cakes and other baked goods taste better. And they didn’t know I switched vanillas. It – and my baked goods – smell yummier/and the kitchen smells vanilla-ier when baking than it did while using other brands.
Oh/and it’s great in chocolate cornstarch pudding/too. There’s too much alcohol in this vanilla extract to use in non-baked goods imo unless you’re using just a little. But that’s okay/because I can get non-alcohol vanilla for those things.
There’s only one thing I’d change/and that’s the bottle. It looks very nice/but most vanilla is protected from light by darker glass. No problem/though – I keep it in a very dark cupboard that doesn’t get opened that often.
I see some people have had bad experiences/but my first three purchases of Heilala Baking Vanilla Extract have been delicious/and the company is very fast at replying to emails/too. And since I’ve been happy with the product and the company/if I happen to get a bad one/I’ll contact them for an exchange.
I really like the flavor and fragrance of this vanilla. It is completely different than Tahitian (which I love for it’s cherry notes and inimitable sweetness) but with darker notes more reminiscent of caramelized apples and spice notes reminding me of sweet potato pie.
I swear I also get a little root beer in the nose as well. Altogether it is different from other vanillas/similar to Mexican but more complex/dark like Madagascar but sweeter and fruitier. It is my go to vanilla for glazing apple turnovers for now but I’m already dreaming of Autumn baking with Heilala!.
I bought this sugar-free vanilla extract because I’m on a ketogenic diet and had to bake a dessert for a party. I made pecan shortbread cookies and they turned out amazing!! The vanilla flavor is delicious and they were a huge hit.
I would absolutely buy this again. Store brands are loaded with added sugars.

Seems like there are some super-fancy vanilla sommeliers up in these ratings. Im not a professional baker, but the sheer volume of my thighs would tell you I bake a lot. So much so that it was a somewhat disconcerting realization that I need to reorder this vanilla already.
And I will reorder this vanilla rather than trying some other vanilla because it tastes and smells like vanilla and its cheap. It doesnt have any kind of discernible bouquet, but it also doesnt cause an unpleasant aftertaste.
It arrives in a box, in 2 days, at my door, and its great for baking. I dont know what kind of magical utopian vanilla some of you people are trying to find, but this one is fine for me, and I would recommend it to other regular people.
I have been using this vanilla extract for years. My mom loves it and so do I. They use a proprietary cold extraction process that preserves the 300 compounds in the beans and that makes a more flavorful product.
I have been able to successfully substitute in recipes that call for vanilla bean paste and won’t even notice. Is definitely a really good product at a really good price and will last for a really long time.
I use this vanilla extract for every recipe I make in my kitchen. It has a balanced flavor that provides the flavor needed in everything from cookies to scones. Even though the size may worry you, the flavor potency lasts – even with extended shelf time.
I highly recommend this -reduction to anyone who does not want to mess with small versions of vanilla extracts in their kitchen.
I was so eager to receive this 4 oz. bottle of ‘two-fold’ Tahitian vanilla, but cannot even smell or taste vanilla, ONLY the ethyl alcohol. I used to purchase Zeron double intensity vanilla and it truly was a glorious perfume of vanilla but they no longer make it, so I turned to this ‘two-fold’ in the hope of discovering a new go-to product.
I paid double for shipping plus exchange rate … total over $76 for a very small bottle of ethyl alcohol hand sanitizer. Worse purchase ever! Buyer beware!.
This is the real deal. The aroma has a strong cherry vibe, almost like cherry cough syrup (but in a good way). My first time using this extract was in Stella Parks’s coconut cake. The coconut swiss buttercream uses Tahitian vanilla beans as well as Tahitian extract.
The combination added a real depth of flavor that worked well with the tropical flavor of the coconut oil in the frosting.
I have some pure ethanol (to make COVID spray) and put about 75 grams of Papantla Mexico Vanilla I got when I visited there a hundred years ago, that were frozen. It developed into a wonderful liquor in the last 5 months and is getting darker every month.
The Tahitian 1 fold vanilla extract is even more intense and full bodied liquor that has a great flavor and aroma. No hay mejor!.
Madagascar is famous for the abundance and flavor of its vanilla beans, but the plant actually came from Mexico. Spanish explorers gave vanilla its name: it means little sheath. Visit our blog to learn more about Madagascar vanilla and discover new recipes.
The vanilla has perfect flavor. I use it in many baked goods and in French toast. I’ve been buying all of my spices at The Spice House since the late 1900’s. I used to go into the shop in Evanston. That was always a treat because it smelled so great in there and the staff was always helpful and informative.
We moved to Indiana in 2008 and I ordered my spices by mail. I was always pleased with the service. We are back in Illinois but we live quite a long way from a Spice House shop so I’m still buying by mail.
I continue to be a fan of the service and products from the Spice House. I often tell others how lucky we are to have such a quality shop nearby.
This double strength is just heaven! When you open the bottle the smell immediately makes you happy!!! Quality is unsurpassed. I ran out and wanted the 8oz that was out of stock. I purchased a foofy madagascar bourbon that was supposed to be double strength and was aged in french oak.
Sounds amazing right? Well it didn’t even come close!.
The price of pure vanilla extract has gone up in recent years, so you’ll pay more whatever brand. So why not get a really good one for your money? you can tell by the fragrance that this vanilla is the pure, authentic thing.
You’ll notice the difference in your baked goods with a richer flavor.
About Heilala Vanilla (pronounced ‘hey la la’) Heilala Vanilla began as an aid project in the beautiful and unspoilt South Pacific Island of Tonga. Following on from a devastating cyclone in 2002, Heilala Vanilla was founded to assist the community by providing employment and a sense of purpose and pride.
The Heilala Vanilla plantation was established by a New Zealand family, in partnership with a local Tongan family from the village of Utungake in Vava’u and in 2005, the first crop was harvested. The beans were taken back to New Zealand and loved by local chefs who quickly spread the word that these vanilla beans were the plumpest and most flavorsome they had ever worked with.
Since these small beginnings Heilala Vanilla has partnered with growers throughout several islands in Tonga and celebrated their 10thharvest of vanilla beans in 2015. Heilala Vanilla has significantly impacted the Tongan economy and continues to give back by providing employment and infrastructure across a number of communities.
To this day Heilala Vanilla is the world’s most awarded vanilla and products are sought after by specialty food retailers, fine dining establishments and gourmet food manufacturers all around the world.
All Heilala Vanilla Products are Gluten Free. Heilala Vanilla beans have Kosher Certification from the Kosher Licensing Authority.
This stuff is superb. It’s what real vanilla extract should be/but has more depth and intensity – it manages to be deep/earthy and floral all at the same time. I wonder if some of the negative reviews don’t really know what proper vanilla extract should smell or taste like and only know the synthetic substitute.
Anyway/I highly recommend this product and would buy it again.
This is adequate vanilla/but both the scent and flavor are mild. Feeling like I need to use twice as much of this to get a good vanilla flavor makes this already expensive vanilla way too expensive for me.
Imo/there are better vanillas available in the grocery store for much better prices. So/while there’s nothing bad about this and I’m using it all/I wouldn’t purchase again.
Vanilla beans that have been steeped in alcohol are used to make Pure Vanilla extract. Use this extract to flavor desserts such as baked goods, ice cream, beverages and custards or use as an ingredient in savory dishes as well.
This stuff is expensive but has pretty good flavor and breaks down to be cheaper than smaller bottles. Most important to our company is that there’s no added sugar/sweeteners. It actually is pure vanilla with alcohol vs.
some other bulk bottles that use additional sugar**cough-co**. Annoying when you’re trying to produce a vegan product.
Very cost effective solution for vanilla. Great strong flavor goes a long way in my baked goods. I literally put this vanilla in everything! I like to fill a small squeeze bottle to help minimize spillage when measuring.
In conclusion, America’s Test Kitchen found that vanilla extract is a versatile ingredient that can be used in many different recipes. They also found that it is a good value for the money and that it can be found in most supermarkets.
