Very easy to use right out of the box. Should be a game changer this winter on the hard water. It worked great on lake Erie hunting down perch on the boat.

I purchased this unit for its large screen as my eyesight has been declining. I really like that part. I also knew from the start that the units auto-plot capabilities would require purchasing the upgraded maps.

This is an important feature in my opinion. Some things about this unit are very disappointing. Garmin brags about the ‘free’ ActiveCaptain app that they provide with this, however I found that it has very poor map and charting capability by itself.

I had wanted to use the app for pre-planning my outing, but it was of no real use for that. Garmin points to the extra cost Navionics app for better capability. I tried Navionics free trial and found that I could create a route there, then transfer to ActiveCaptain, and then finally transfer to the Chartplotter.

Very klunky way to get the job done. And, after paying significant money for the Chartplotter, I really don’t like the idea of paying an additional subscription for Navionics. This really hurts my satisfaction with the whole package.

Another failure is that while the chartplotter has wifi capability, it insists on being the hub, so you cannot connect to your home wifi and upload routes from your living room (again, I like to preplan my outings and I really didn’t want to sit in the boat to accomplish this).

My desire is that once I get on the water, I am just following the routes I had planned for the day, overriding only if scomething else grabs my attention. Finally, Navionics would be great if I could run it on my laptop and then upload remotely to the chartplotter.

But, there is no laptop version. Remember, I’m somewhat eyesight challenged so large screens are important. Pls make the chartplotter internet-connected rather than just wifi-connected, so I can work on my routes or updating software from anywhere.

My thermostat can do it, so my expensive chartplotter needs to catch up on that level of technology. It is behind the times in this respect.

I looked at several fish finder / chart plotter combos. This had the most features I was looking for. I like Garmin anyway. It was pretty easy to install and set up. There were only a couple of issues.

First, there are numerous expandable features, but it was difficult to determine what features are installed on this specific unit. Associated with that was the manual. It mentions all the features, but adds (if equipped).

This made things complicated, especially for someone new to fish finders / chart plotters. Lastly, was the Clear Vu screen is not as clear as the sample shows. I’ve tried adjusting contrast and brightness, but it is still too dark.

I compared the fish finding feature with an older fish finder and was amazed at the extreme close comparison. So far, I have enjoyed the Garmin, but it will take time to learn how to use it effectively.

My wife and I agree it is a learning curve and this gives us both something to grow into. I would recommend this product, but caution you to examine all the features and what comes with the specific unit.

The transducer will make the difference. Take time to see which transducer fits what you want and buy the full unit accordingly.

LMC shop shipped me this garmin panoptix unit with a DEAD 12v battery (voltage ~9. 3 V). I talked to garmin customer service, who was great, and confirmed that the battery was bad. LMC shop WILL NOT ANSWER my several emails regarding this.

I just want a new battery or partial refund for the cost, and they are totally nonresponsive even after several weeks. WHAT A GARBAGE STORE!.

Without a doubt the best sonar unit Ive ever owned. A game changer, Ive had lowrance, marcum, vexilar, and humminbird and the Garmin is by far the best. Ive had humminbird anf lowrance on my ranger bass boat and last year installed a Garmin echomap and blows all other units out of the water.

I know theses Sonars are expensive but save your money or get a payment plan because its worth every penny. You will NOT be disappointed.

I’m only gonna write about the GPS side coz I’m not using the Sonar features or the transducer. For me, this is a standalone GPS only. On the plus side, its compatible with the Garmin Vision HD maps with relief shading.

Even if you don’t upgrade to HD maps, the pre-loaded Navionics basemap has fantastic detail. The 65CV is easy to setup and transfer waypoints thru Active Captain. Super user friendly and mega easy interface to get your head around.

I have an NMEA 2000 Lowrance Point 1 GPS antenna and this Garmin unit connected up to that antenna via the NMEA 2000 network and is 100% compatible. That said, I wish i had the $$$ to buy the 7″ or 9″ UHD versions because of one very annoying reason.

Here’s the reason which I discovered when it was too late, after purchase: The power connector cable and NMEA 2000 connector cable on the 65CV are plug in cables that are supposed to be held in position by a really clunky slot in locking plate.

This is a loose accessory. The 7″ and 9″ UHD models use a much more reliable connection (commonly used by most other brands too) that plugs in and then gets locked off with a threaded locking ring. Because I pull my electronics off my boat after every trip and use a home made flush mount, the connector plugs on my 65CV are a big problem for my particular usage because of wear and tear that I put on my cables and my inability to lock them off and remove the lock easily on the fly.

If your unit is nearly always mounted onboard, the UHD 65CV connector system will be fine. Seriously, it won’t be a problem – I have very specific needs and I never expected the UHD 65 cables to be different from the 7″ and 9″ model.

The way cables plug in isn’t something a person would typically research beforehand. That said, I believe Garmin offer the best marine GPS products because I love the user friendly way they function, the mobile accessibility and the ease of customising the stuff you see on screen.

Great item for the price but I’d love to upgrade to a big screen Garmin.

Have a season’s worth of use now. This unit is pretty good with what I would say are only a couple of ‘faults. ‘ Good part in my mind is the intuitive, relatively simple use and setup. I think that is typical of Garmin products.

One suggestion, read everything about the unit. Who ever reads instructions? Ran into an issue when my boat batteries gave up the ghost. Here’s what happened. My boat instruments showed the batteries were dying and the Garmin stopped working, That was because the voltage I guess got too low.

Motor still cranked but electronics did not like the lowered voltage. So, once the batteries were replaced, had issue with the Garmin. Nothing really wrong but who knew the screen went to lowest brightness setting, I guess as a response to the battery voltage.

Had I read all the info, I would have known how to restore the brightness when you can’t see the screen to set the brightness. And the sonar shuts itself off. No big deal but you got to go turn it on again in the settings.

Again, not a big deal but maybe Garmin ought to have big red warnings, or the owner ought to read the manual. Overall, that’s about the only issues I had. Presentation is nice, controls are fairly intuitive, if maybe way too much for a not too serious used like me.

Having called Garmin for support, it was excellent.

Intalled on our Boston Whaler center console last winter and have used all of this season. Installation was very straightforward. Saw other reviews that felt the transducer wire was too short. Not an issue on our boat.

Still learning all the different features. Unit is very easy to operate, even in sporty conditions. Nice and bright–easy to see the display. Even tells you when you have an incoming cellphone call–great when you can’t hear your phone ringing.

Downloading updates via cellphone and app are very, very slow. Sometimes taking nearly an hour. The updates do work very well and load without an issue–but last update took nearly an hour to transfer from iphone over to chartplotter unit.

Would buy it again if I trade in this boat. Only remaining project for this winter is to connect and network it with our VHF radio.

It’s a hybrid of a Echomap series and GPS series chartplotter with the best sonar compatible features and has a large UHD screen with more pixels then the 9 inch echo maps for greater detail in maps and sonar returns.

Right away you can tell it’s a heavier duty build than the 7 and 9 series Echomap. This unit will not record livescope thru active Captain so beware if you think it’s the ultimate sonar machine. The LVS12 port is additional feature for live sonar but beware had had bad reviews and less popular than the LVS32 and don’t know if a LVS 12 data can be shared to a 93 unit I know my 93 unit has a LVS 12 simulation so why can’t it share LVS 12 data if the ultra does the software translation to the network.

I know Garmin could update software to allow better networking and sonar recording features but opt not to for marketing strategy and older Echomap plus is discontinued and updates have stopped so you can’t even get the new vivid colors I have though many picky comments for being invested into the Echomap series over $4000.

00 and you do find limits for your hardware and it’s software too. they will always be coming out with faster bigger and better units with improved performance so to get units on clearance is the only way I purchase my echomaps and good prices with free shipping and a gift card plus a promo is how to get the most amazing deals on this unit.

I recommend only buying the Echomap series on clearance because they are always onsale from a latest model coming out. The 93plus sv met all expectations for a live image sonar unit so the 106sv is a huge upgrade can’t wait to get my hands on a GT56 and look at those new color pallets and pray someday Garmin figures out how to live sonar record on the app for as on their GPS xsv series plotters.

So is it recommend for the professional angler yes it is ,for the you tuber wanting to record livescope no it’s not unless you go pro it up close. Clearance priced echo maps and free shipping is huge savings and the echo map series I have bought all my units for amazing cheap deals for the best live sonar and user friendly menus I have ever seen.

The force trolling compatible controls is one of the units best features for chartplotting a course and really does out more fish in the boat giving you more time to fish instead of driving. I was amazed at pre programming a course and the turns and really just sit back and fish while the Garmin networked Echomap does everything you would want in a Sonar/GPS navigation system.

Not recommend for ice fishing the power consumption is high and will chew thru batteries because all the processing features but could be used if increased the battery AH to accommodate the draw. Dual memory cards for mapping and memory.

Can see the faster map processing for sure zooming in and out with a 10hz receiver compared to the 5hz in the 7 and 9 series. 2 network ports can host a variety of networking options for other echomaps or panoptix transducers.

Only thing though my lake is not available on this and my first Echomap it was with lake vu us lakes You would think ultra maps would only improve a lakes detail. Not enough customer service on mapping and the Echomap support doesn’t clarify mapping.

4 screen split is a new option.

Fantastic unit, exceptional clarity/accuracy and works as it should. If you bought it boxing day you got a heck of a deal. I find It comedic that people are reviewing this badly. Considering the fact that if Cabela’s doesn’t have in stock how is that a reflection of the quality of the unit if anything that states really good as they can’t keep it in stock.

The other review with the gentleman complaining about how Manitoba Lakes aren’t there maybe should have read what was included in the map coverage so he knew ahead of time. Also, none of the Inland maps in any of the NavTronics or overly great.

You are way better off to use the mapping feature in this unit to make a more accurate underwater maps. That is also not specific to this unit, but any unit. Moral of the story is do your research before you buy any fish finder.

But if you are going to buy one, this is a good one.

I bought this 93SV with the GT56 transducer a couple of months ago to replace my broken Humminbird Onix. The Onix was HB’s top of the line model when I bought it, and worked well for me for many years.

The Garmin does have better side and down imaging, but I do not like the user interface as much as the HB. It is often confusing and not intuitive. HB does a much better job there, IMO. I also miss the ability to split the screen in 4 parts (3 is the max on the 93SV) so I can have Nav, down, side and 2d all on one screen.

I’ll get used to it over time, I’m sure. But it was not the big step up in tech I was thinking it would be. I’m glad I didn’t update just to update. I’m not sure the value would have been there from the Onix.

I recently had a warranty issue with my Elite Ti2. I called Lowrance and got a very nice person on the phone. We talked about the issues the unit was having and it was determined that I needed to return the unit to be tested.

I tracked the shipment, and the day it was received they tested it found it was bad and sent a new unit the same day. What else can you ask for? I have read a lot of nasty reviews and comments about Lowrance having bad customer service.

My personal experience has been has been great. I have owned Lowrance products for over 30 years. They have addressed every problem I’ve had over the years. I think some of the people that write nasty comments were probably just as nasty when they called Lowrance to begin with.

Be nice and work with the technician and they will take care of you. It’s always worked for me.

I bought this based on an in store demonstration where the fellow showed me active imaging. I was initially looking for a Ti2 7″ to mount to my bow to match the Elite Ti2 12″ on my console but they didn’t have any.

So this is what I bought based on the guy saying words to the effect of “This is what you can do with it” and showed me a demonstration of the live imaging. What he failed to say, or if he did say it, it was not clear, that I would need double the cost of the unit to buy the Lowrance ActiveTarget Live Sonar at an additional $1499.

00 plus tax. Lowrance owns some of this too, they use very techie descriptive but non-committed words to imply that the unit comes with everything you need but fails to state clearly that it you want the active imaging, whip out your wallet again.

So the reality is that I now use it with pretty much the same features as my Elite Ti2 12″ at a slightly higher price than I would have paid for a Elite Ti2 7″ but no active imaging, thus the 3 stars.

But In my mind, the way this is described by both Lowrance and BPS it was all deceptive. Perhaps it just the way of the world today but I expected more.

Fantastic electronics. It has made a tremendous difference in my fishing success. I have used it with great results for kokanee in the lakes, coho/chinook in the ocean as well as lingcod and rockfish.

Amazingly easy to use, especially with the touch screen interface. Watch a ton of YouTube videos on how to set up and tune your transducer for the best results for your fishing conditions. critical. Being able to see fish rise to hit your bait while troling or jigging gives you a huge edge.

I highly recomend this fish finder/gps. combo.

I boughts this unit on boxing day sale day before christmas day. Recieve the item within 2nd week of january. Got to use it few times at my local lake and lake simcoe. great graphic and definitely big diference with striker 4cv plus.

Has majority preload mapps i probally will fish or lakes already fish at, clearvu,traditional,gps,flasher many more i love. can’t wait to use it in spring time for awesome pike fishing. love the unit.

when I upgrade will definity go for 95sv. i’m happy with Garmin echomap uhd 75sv with tranducer. Can’t complain with there great sale and not late with delivery within GTA even when it came from the main facility in Calgary.

First, installation was a bit of a pain but it ended up great. I power it with a 20V 2ah DeWalt battery and it works just fine even if they do not recommand it. Lasts about 8 hours. I was not gonna carry a super heavy lead-acid battery in a kayak that is already loaded with camping gear.

Being that I do a lot of kayak camping-fishing trips on large water bodies having a GPS/tracker was a must for me. Just got back from a trip and that feature has been great for not getting lost in difficult situations.

The user frendliness reminded me of an old Garmin GPS, not great. Far from Google map. Menus are a little difficult to get used to but. Contour mapping is nice. Sonar is great and powerfull. Could follow my jig all the way down 150′ of water easy.

So far Clearview has been useless. You can not see any fishes on that mode. Wich is the point of a ”fish finder”. Split screen is awesome. Another con is that when you need to bring it inside your house to add waypoints or else you will need an extra power cord at $50, Ouch! So all in all it is very good but I could have done without the extra cost of CV.

I installed this on my 13 foot boat for Gulf coast creeks and shallow water fishing. The chart for this device is like a blank sheet of paper, it does not have land, water or navigation markers. The only information the chart will display is where you have been, the depth contours that your device recorded or from the Garmin Active Captain application which shares depth contours from other users.

I use my cellphone apps such as Google Maps and Navionics for the big picture if I am in unfamiliar areas. Depth and voltage alarms are very handy. The fish-finder display options are as detailed as most inshore fishing could require.

The screen size is the smallest I would use on any boat, easy to see and interpret at a glance while moving. Very satisfied.

I have a small 12’ rowboat and this is my first ever fish finder. Mounted this unit on an ammo can and the transponder on the trolling motor. Would be nice if it had the option to add a battery to make this a package.

I’ve had the unit on the water for a total of about five hours. Improved instructions and the ability to have a tutorial mode to learn the unit before I hit the water would be helpful. The unit is pretty user intuitive once you spend the time to get familiar with where things are located.

It took me about 20 minutes to get the QuickDraw contours feature to work. Deepest water I was in was about 20feet. I could easily follow my jig, as I raised and lowered it, on the screen. The one thing I did notice is that the lake I was on has two small islands, larger of the two would be approximately 20’ x 40’, while using the quick draw feature it did not show a land mass or show a blank area on the map.

The islands are nonexistent and on the display are really under two feet of water even though I could beach my boat and have a picnic without getting soggy sandwiches. The screen was easily viewed with a straight on look giving it the best brightest clear view.

From the side the screen seemed dull. The cord on the transducer is about 20’ long while the power cord is only 3’. This isn’t a big deal for me since I’ve got the battery in and unit mounted on an ammo box.

Just thought it was worth mentioning. Mounting the transponder on the back of my little rowboat would not work due to the riveted seam sticking out. If it were shimmed out with treated plywood I could have probably made it work but then the transponder would be permanently mounted on the boat with the wire exposed to all Mother Nature fury.

My boat is parked outside. Overall this unit is exactly what I expected to get. I still need to play around with it and continue to understand all the features and options it can do to improve my fishing trips but I’m pretty satisfied and would definitely buy it again.

What would make this a five star review would be: the addition of a small tube of marine chalk for transom mounting of the transponder. Longer power cord Battery option package Case option like the striker cv4 package Better instructions Tutorial mode.

I was looking for a small, portable fish finder that I could use for both ice fishing in the winter and in my kayak in the summer. I was also looking for a reasonable price. I don’t fish enough to justify a top-of-the-line unit.

The Striker 4 portable fit the bill perfectly. It comes complete with everything you need. I am impressed with the build quality and engineering. My vision is poor, so I was a little worried about a 4” screen.

No problem, I can see it fine. I love the feature set- everything I need and more. Some reviewers didn’t like the fact that you can’t upload lake maps and there is no memory card slot. I fish on small local lakes and don’t need that.

The CHIRP sonar is definitely worth getting. It gives you a good picture in all depths. Pros: • Great product for the price, full featured comes with everything you need to start fishing. • Quality build and design • Since Garmin’s core product is GPS units, they include it on everything.

Unusual at this price point. Cons: A couple of little nits to pick, hence the 4 stars instead of 5. • The documentation is very poor. I am a total newbie to fish finders and really needed a more thorough manual.

I suspect they assume a certain amount of background knowledge which I do not possess. I ended up watching a few Youtube videos made by other Striker 4 owners. • The float that holds the transducer for ice fishing could use some kind of adjuster.

They tell you to tie the cable around it, but I would like something more precise, so I rigged up a stop made out of wood. • The battery and charger use blade connectors, which are not very robust. They are likely to break over time.

I adapted a pair of alligator clips so I can easily connect the charger without disconnecting the battery. Overall I love the Striker 4 and would definitely recommend buying one.

I bought the Garmin Striker 4 for a few reasons. 1. Needed a portable Ice Fishing sonar to update an older unit. 2. I wanted a Flasher unit but cost was an issue. 3. Affordable on a very limited budget.

4. A unit I could use on different platforms. I came across this unit by a simple video search of what others were using. It didn’t take long to decide to look into the Garmin. I know they have a good brand, the cost was very reasonable (and on sale at the time of my purchase), and it had awesome features.

Dual Channel sonar of 77 & 200 Mhz and the Flasher Sonar so popular with advanced units I looked at but really out of my price range. I watched a few videos that demonstrated the features and the ease of use, they really showed me I couldn’t beat this unit for the price.

I know there are lots of options but for me I needed some I could set up easily and just fish! I purchased it and took it on a Ice Fishing trip in Feb 2021 and quickly set it up to find marks and within an hour of use I had my first catch! The sonar is easy to switch from, the controls and menus are straight forward, if you use other electronics is rather easy to navigate the menus.

The Flasher feature worked best when I fished alone. When I had a person fishing with me or close by, it was best to use the traditional sonar settings and easier to see which line in the water was mine verses the other.

Response is better than I expected, seeing my jig, seeing fish moving in and out of range, and seeing the movement of fish on the attack was so cool and exciting. I have fished without sonar and the day can drag out especially when they aren’t biting! But I guess when you are engaged with the screen and actively jigging the time doesn’t matter and you enjoy the hunt! LOL.

Just bought this for Ice Fishing. I’m not totally Techi on these things so it will take a bit of time to completely understand all the features and how to use them. I have used this 3 times now for Ice Fishing and no question you can see the Fish swimming to your Bait.

Kind of neat as you are prepared for the Bite. I must say the Clarity is fantastic for such a small screen. Price wise, great buy. my old Hummingbird uses the 6 volt batteries and that is a heavy cost for those batteries, I certainly prefer the chargeable battery with this unit.

Just a word of advise, after each use—recharge the battery—-and they even tell you to do that each time your use it.

I switched from Lowrance to Garmin after the 2nd Lowrance failed on my Kayak. Lowrance failed after getting splashed with saltwater (It was NOT doused or submerged. ) The Garmin has failed twice (locked-up) programming waypoints.

The failure occurs during hover-state over an info-item. This causes the device to freeze. The only way to break out of the freeze. Un-freeze requires long-press off to power-cycle the device. The problem also occurs when you use the cursor positioning on a chart.

After they fix this bug – everything looks good.

As a retired 20 Navy & 10 year USCG Veteran. I have a lot of time underway on many watercraft. In the Coast Guard as a Recreatonal Boating Safey Specialist and qualified boating instructor I have used many GPS units.

I have owned many boats and brands of marine equipment. This unit is very user friendly, a snap to install, and has many features that make it the ideal unit for my boat. This compact unit does not clutter my helm, but still gives me all the features I need that you would find in a large unit.

The unit did not arrive with the protective cover however as stated in the product description, but Wholesale Marine made me very happy with the quick response to my complaint. A new cover was shipped in a few days, and they checked back afterwards to see if I was completely satisfied.

I recommend this unit and this retailer with all 5 of my stars. Bravo Zulu WholeSale Marine.

Great little unit for a kayak. It has 1000’s of inland lakes which can help determine where to go fish, then of course the traditional and clear-vu to make sure you are actually fishing for fish. I’ve caught more a couple times out this year, then all of last season with the help of this finder.

It was easy to install, a lithium battery works for several days be recharging, and the menu system is pretty well designed and easy to use. Help yourself catch more fish.

Stop thinking about it. Just buy it, you know you want to. I’m a Minnesota man, I know what I’m talking about when it comes to fishing. This garmin is almost borderline cheating. LOVE IT

Awesome fish finder for the money. If you are looking to get your first fish finder, but are upgrading from a older unit I highly recommend this unit. With the 3 in 1 active imaging you’ll be able to find fish where ever they hide.

Also the built in mapping helps you learn the lakes you fish. Pair it with an optional navigation card for even more detail. I’m running two of these Ti2 units on my boat. I have a 12″ unit on the console, and a 9″ unit on my bow.

I have them wirelessly connected. So I have 2D sonar, and mapping on the bow. There is also alot of good info about these units on the internet. Easy to learn, and have a 2 year warranty. If you’re looking for live imaging you’ll want to look at teh HDS live units.

Upgraded my HDI 7 Elite to this TI2 12”. Screen size and features are fantastic, and the price is too good to pass up. Touchscreen capability is a huge step up when you are used to button entries for everything on my older unit.

My complaint is they make it sound like the CMaps are loaded, but the maps preloaded are very very poor, so you will have to buy the yearly CMap subscription to get the quality maps they will show online.

I already had Navionics map cards so i just continue to use those.

Do not buy this. I’ve never hated a product so much. I have never left a review on anything, but I am MAD. Unit crashes all the time. Touch screen is incredibly awful. It either doesn’t register or registers something an inch away on the screen.

Try typing in a WiFi password to do the software updates! Or having to constantly do software restores when the settings menu button is located between standby and power off, good luck not turning it off accidentally.

So frustrating. I don’t know why I haven’t sent this unit to the bottom of the lake. I’ve done all the software updates, configured settings, checked wiring, grounding etc. I’ve had other Lowrance units in the past and wanted this so it would work with my Motorguide Xi3.

Spent $300 on NMEA wiring on top of the $850 for the Ti2 with maps and transducer and it’s so bad that I don’t even use it! Don’t know how they can say these work together. Doesn’t recognize autopilot half the time.

Sends you in circles when trying to autopilot route of waypoints. Sonor is spotty and fairly useless. The charts are the only usable feature until you touch the screen and have to hit the “clear cursor” button in the top right corner, which is impossible, and so the screen gets stuck forcing you to power unit off and then go through the miserable warning screen again.

Extremely fed up. I’ve contacted Lowrance without any response yet, and they will have to sweep me off my feet at this point to convince me to ever buy another Lowrance product.

I purchased this unit to mount on my waverunner. I’m happy with the ease of installation and overall build of the unit. It will work well for my application. I would of liked to have the display screen alittle larger but overall this gps works well for my purpose.

Excellent so far. I fish inshore reef and estuary in the fishing heaven of Weipa and this unit has blown me away so far! The only thing that I did notice is that the transducer is a big bit of gear which means I will have to be more mindful at that area of the boat at times.

Other than that I installed it with the Berleypro screen and it all fits excellent. Anyone with an open boat should have a look at these screens. The crew were excellent, thanks again for awesome support guys!.

The product description the on website did not say it was the GT-54 xducer like it explicitly does for the 73 so I assumed it was the GT-56 newer model. That was not the case. In hind sight I should have gotten the 73 because I did not need the offshore mapping in the 74 but thought I was getting the newer xducer.

This is not a negative review on the unit, it’s a great unit and preforms quite well. The entire uhd 7x series is good just wish the site would have better defined what xducer came with the unit. I still can’t figure out why the 73 lists the xducer but the 74 does not.

This is a very big marketing flaw on BPS/Cabela’s side of things. The box from garmin clearly said what was in the box but ordering online I could only go with what was provided.

I bought two of these units one last year and one last spring. I paid $600 for each unit. They are an excellent value at that price. At full price I wouldn’t buy one. The mapping is horrific. The sidevu on 1125mhz is almost worthless.

My kid has another brand and you can see bluegill beds clear as day passing by them. This unit at least with the gt54 transducer will not show bluegill beds. The touch screen does work well. The removable feature is nice.

The downvu is good as is the traditional 2d sonar. With the side vu @ 455mhz. it is easy to see suspended baitfish, bluegills, and crappies. This is all evaluated when using a 12v house battery.

I’ve used it several times now and am happy with it’s performance. It’s fairly easy to install. I watched several youtube videos to learn how to use it. Touch screen is great, the preloaded maps are awesome.

The down scan and side scan work great along with the traditional sonar. There’s a lot of different options to customize it the way you want it. The only thing I don’t like about it is when you’re using the down scan or side scan, the fish appear as just a small dot.

I’d prefer something that stands out more. I would buy it again.

Elite-Ti Series of Units I have used an Elite-Ti 12 unit since last year, and wow is all I can say. These units are initially advertised as a unit with high end features at an economical price. For a touchscreen unit with all the bells and whistles of GPS, SideScan, DownScan, and sonar, most of the time an economically priced unit worth having is out of the question.

Not for these units. I grew up on the Tennessee river chain fishing the infamous Kentucky Lake the most, along with Pickwick, Guntersville, and other Tennessee lakes. For anyone that knows these lakes well summer time and ledge fishing go hand in hand with one another.

The term ledge fishing some say was born on Kentucky lake. Without a unit that has SideScan, summer time can be a very stingy time on these lakes. Since using these units and really learning the Side and DownScan features the numbers and quality of fish have skyrocketed for me.

Since I have been into the sport of bass fishing at a young age I always knew Lowrance was the choice of unit. My dad used Lowrance throughout his career so it has only suiting for me to do the same.

I fished for four years at the college level and used Lowrance units to help me understand new bodies of water, break them down, and be able to catch fish in less than a few hours from first seeing the lake for the first time.

Now that I am out of college and working full time I know more than ever how important a budget and saving money can be. I also know how tight money can get. We all have our hobbies and fishing just happens to be ours and the Elite-Ti series of units allow for a price that does not break the budget, but allows for all the same features as the pros.

The touchscreen has worked without fail and allows me to use the unit easier and be able to pinpoint certain schools of bass, or structures I think will hold bass. These units are by far the best I have ever put on my bass boat.

Whether I am fishing deep ledges on Kentucky Lake or looking for the edges of grass lines on Guntersville I know that this unit will continue to hold up and lead me to catching more and more fish. The new Chirp sonar is a very big go to of mine as well with this unit.

I love to use the sonar to find baitfish in the summer and fall and the chirp brings such a crisp image to the sonar screen like I have never seen before. For an angler that is economically concerned this is the best unit on the market by far.

Fair priced, simple to install and use, but with all the high end features of the HDS series of units.

I bought this unit in Feb and had it installed and ready to go on the yak by the next week. Imagining is crystal clear once I was able to find a spot on the yak where the pedal drive didnt interfere with the giant tranducer.

The tranducer is really my only complaint, the size is enormous compared to some of the other brands. But the quality of the image makes up for it. The preset settings I felt were a little out of tune but once I was able to play around with the settings I was able to dial in to my preference.

A postive thing I notice compared to my last unit is that I dont have to be moving as fast to get a clear image on the side view, which is nice if I’m just drifting with the wind. Unlike before where I would have to constantly change the ping speed to match my drift, this unit seems to change ping speed with depending on how fast the GPS thinks I’m moving or it’s just that good of a unit it doesnt matter.

Lastly the customization of the screen is unbelievable. How you can set up the pages to see different views (maps, DI, SI, 2D,) is unbelievable. I wish I had photos to show but there are unlimited ways to set it up to your liking.

Lastly, the only other down fall I have notice is that it sucks up a lot of juice. My battery would last maybe 12 to 15 hrs on my old unit, this unit will drain the battery maybe 6 to 8 hrs depending on my settings (brightness etc).

I would highly recommend this unit and can see this unit lasting me a long time with no need to upgrade.
