20 Best Treadmills For Bad Knees (2023 Updated)

Here is my story and experience the last month with my treadmill. My Sole F63 finally quit on me after 12 years. We ordered several parts after speaking to Sole reps and troubleshooting over the phone.

$100. 00 later and lots of effort my husband, it still showed an error message of LS1. Instead of continuing to order one of a thousand parts and losing more money on it, we went to Dicks Sporting Goods to purchase a new one.

The prices naturally have gone up but I loved mine so much I wanted another one. First of all, getting it home was a challenge. Dicks wanted 300. 00 to deliver and set up and already spending so much on both treadmills, we said we would just take it with us.

We have a suburban XL and all back seats had to be placed down to get this monster in and it rested against the front seats. The next challenge required 3 strong men to get it upstairs as the box weighs 300 lbs.

It took them an hour to muscle it up one flight of stairs. I also had to hire someone to remove the other one which took them two hours to disassemble it so the two of them could bring it down in parts, down the stairs to haul away.

The new one is beautiful and has new tech features for a tablet and iPhone etc. As I inspected my husbands hard work in assembling, I noticed something was off. Quality control missed a detail that is going to drive me absolutely insane every day when I walk.

The STOP button on the panel is UPSIDE DOWN! This is not a button that can be removed as it is made into the panel. After all the hard work, trying to repair the other one, loss of money, 5 men to get one upstairs and down, the time to assemble and all the headaches for my beautiful treadmill that I hope will last 12 years —not only do I have to pay on it for 18 months, I have to look at this upside down stop sign.

I am so disappointed this was not caught by quality control and I had to pay such a premium for it to be perfect.

While I considered the assembly to be pretty straight forward, I would guess some people have struggled a bit – especially with the routing of the cables to avoid damaging them when assembling the top portion of the treadmill.

The machine itself has worked very well, but I have a few observations. When running and being close enough to the control panel to see my tablet in the nifty holder or use the controls on the treadmill, there is the tendency to kick the motor assembly cover – not a huge thing, but I have to work around that.

The fan is a nice feature, but it should tilt down farther – my wife is a bit on the petite side and the fan pretty much blows above her head. The speakers could be a bit more robust; some audio sources aren’t very loud and it can be hard to hear over the machine’s mechanical sounds – keep in mind that not all of your customers are 20 somethings with perfect hearing and vision.

The programming features are pretty basic. That doesn’t keep it from being useful and I understand the desire to position it as an entry level unit, but a little refinement would be nice. A fitted dust cover would be handy.

Overall though, the F63 has been great. It is well built and performs well. The speed and incline settings are more than adequate for my needs. I enjoy the auxiliary speed and incline adjusters on the side rails – very convenient.

I love the long deck. I have used treadmills with shorter decks and experienced that whoops feeling as my foot was at the end of the track – I haven’t had that problem with the F63. The tilt up feature works very well and the unit maneuvers on its wheels very easily when tilted up.

I did quite a bit of comparing with other respected brand’s models. Based on our enjoyment of it, its quality, features and price, it was a very good purchase.

I was looking for a basic treadmill to jog on several times a week, with my biggest concern being sturdiness – nothing is more annoying then a treadmill that shakes or wobbles when you run! I went into my local store so that I could stand on them and see the sturdiness for myself.

I went in thinking I was going to like the NordicTrack, but was surprised to find that the Sole models were much sturdier! The associate told me this is one of their top sellers. I’ve been running on it for a few weeks now and it has been absolutely perfect for me – nice and sturdy and all the features I need.

I like the “jump off” platforms on the sides, and the speed and incline adjustments on the side handlebars. It has plenty of storage for water, phone, etc. , and I also like the tablet holder, although I haven’t used that yet.

One downside is that the quick start buttons don’t include all speeds (i. e. , there is 3, 5, 7 etc) but I find it works well for me since I usually start at a walk and then increase to a jog after a few minutes – I just start at 3 and use the side handle buttons to adjust up from there when I’m ready.

If you want more high tech/iFit workouts etc this isn’t the one for you, but I personally just like to just get on and jog and watch tv or listen to music, and didn’t want to pay a subscription. In addition to the heart rate handles it also comes with a heart rate chest band.

You can also connect to a free app to track your workouts, including outdoor workouts. I haven’t done that yet so can’t comment on the app, but it seems like a nice option to have. The fan isn’t the best but really no treadmill fans are – just use a real fan if you need one.

If you’re looking for a good basic sturdy treadmill, I highly recommend this one!.

I purchased the Sole F63 because of the good reviews and because of the excellent warranty. It’s too early to say whether I will be satisfied with the function of treadmill but here are my initial impressions.

Positives: Overall it appears to be good quality considering the moderate price of the unit and thankfully it seems to be working fine (with one annoying exception). Negatives: 90% of the assembly was quite easy but was much more difficult than necessary due to the following: 1.

) The instructions refer to numbered parts or “left/right” references but none of the parts were numbered or marked left or right. It was not too difficult to figure out but it definitely took lots of extra time to make sure the part was correct and avoid having to disassemble to switch parts.

Additionally, there are four screws that attach the plastic cover to the bottom side of each side of the control panel. this part of the assembly took almost 1. 5 hours and numerous cuss words due to poor design which resulted in a bad fit and having to screw in from bad angles and blind (the holes were so recessed and hidden).

I might have chosen another treadmill if I had known. And finally, the console does NOT turn off after use. It is completely lit up hours after last using it. I’m sure I’m in for a hassle getting this fixed.

Overall. DISAPPOINTED. I’ll update after getting it fixed.

Dont waste your money on cheaper treadmills (including lower or mid-range ProForm or NordicTrack brands). I went through three $500-$700 treadmills before realizing the value of paying a bit more for SOLE.

Even before starting to put it together, you can feel the quality, just by the sheer weight! After a relatively easy assembly and set up, you certainly can get a more fitness facility experience while running.

No slipping belts, bouncing running boards, or creaking frames. I do like using iFIT and got used to it from previous treadmills so I still use/watch these training videos. Although the app will not adjust this treadmill, this does not seem like a huge deal and I just use the side hand controls to do this easily.

I have not yet used the SOLE training videos yet. As far as the F63 not having a screen, for me this was not a big deal especially as I prefer having the screen separate from the machine, just in case it malfunctions, getting a new TV is a whole lot easier that replacing one integrated into a machine.

The fan is not strong enough, but I havent found any treadmill fan that is. The fortunate thing is the crossbar is strong enough and at a perfect height to mount one to give adequate airflow for long runs.

I LOVE this treadmill! I had been researching treadmills for the past year. I wanted something compact, yet it needed to have all the features I was searching for. I looked at everything from a manual to the top of the line.

I decided I. The Schwinn due to the features and reasonable price. I got what I wanted all while not spending over 4 figures for a treadmill. Aside from being EXTREMELY heavy in the box, I was able to assemble it quite quickly by myself.

It folds up to stay somewhat out of the way. It has all the features I was looking for and love. There are -0 incline settings and the speeds go from 0-10. There are SEVERAL workout options to choose from! You are able to manually adjust the incline and speed as you are working out to meet your needs.

It also gives you the option to save your workouts! The built in cup holders, fan, book/phone/tablet holder and speakers are an added bonus! The two different stationary handles provide great support and walking comfort.

I also love that it measures your heart rate. I love the impact absorption system. It has provided much needed relief to the knees versus walking on the highway/gravel! I am very pleased with my purchase and use it daily!.

Three years ago, I bought a Sole F63 treadmill from FS, which was excellent and faultless. You can still find my review on the site. So I went back to FS to buy something similar (the F63 is now unfortunately with my ex), but instead was sold the Schwinn 570T for 50% more cash, on the basis that it is a bit more solidly built.

This is true, but that’s about the only positive I have so far. First impression on assembly was that the cabling between the Control Panel and the motor was extremely cheap and nasty, the connectors are the poorest quality I have ever seen.

The control panel is well laid out, the fast speed and incline buttons have an Enter key, so it’s a 2 button process to use them which is a bit of a pain. Now the more serious issues. For Bluetooth connectivity (very prominent on the display), we are told to install the Schwinn Trainer app.

This does not exist, either in the Apple Store or Google Play. After much searching I found the “Explore the World” app with which you can view some nice settings while you are running, however it doesn’t control the incline of the treadmill to match the course, and doesn’t really do anything else.

So the Bluetooth functionality of the treadmill itself doesn’t really work. Use of the treadmill itself was fine enough on the flat, then when I set an incline of 5 degrees and speed of 9. 6kmh, the motor cut out after 4 minutes.

This happened many times. The FS Helpdesk swung into action, suggesting I “check” the belt tension and lubrication (both of which should be preset). So I slackened the belt off just enough so it doesn’t slip and lubricated the belt, and tried again.

Again, ok on the flat, but now when I try to increase the incline, the machine bleeps continuously, the incline field on the display flashes at zero, and the motor dies again. This issue persists, and I am now attempting to return it for a refund – so far unsuccessfully.

For £1200 you would expect a functioning machine and a better service.

Great treadmill – structurally sound, easy, simple to program, no fussy electronics that we wouldn’t use, plus a built-in fan. We replaced our 20-yr old treadmill because we couldn’t obtain a new belt, and the old one simply wore out.

We are glad we purchased the Schwinn treadmill. We especially like the sales person, Jennifer at NFM. We told her to show us the biggest bang for the $$, with not too many bells, whistles, and space efficient.

She showed this 810 treadmill, but we looked at others and kept returning to the more stable 810. We bought it that day and had it delivered to our home, set up, and the old one taken away. The two men who delivered the treadmill were polite, professional, and efficient.

So so easy and quick. I’d give the whole deal 5 stars!!.

My first 1200i lasted six years and I loved it. In January of 2020 it died, and thankfully I was quick to order a new one because as you know, once the pandemic hit it was impossible to get a treadmill.

The new treadmill was/is either a lemon or they just stopped making them as well. In less than a year, I was repeatedly getting an error that would just stop the belt inthe middle of a workout. Turns out the electric sensor was faulty, so they sent someone out to replace it.

The guys that came to replace the sensor also noticed that the motor wasn’t working. They asked me if it seemed to take a while to start and stop, which I said yes, but I just thought it was a change that was made to the model since I had my old one.

Nope, I had a bad motor. So, Lifespan ordered me a new motor in march or April. I just finally received it in August. They didn’t send anyone to install it, claiming it was outside of their labor warranty.

While I had been waiting for this new motoer, I asked them several times to just send me a new treadmill bc the one I had clearly wasn’t of the same caliber as my old one. I mean, to have a faulty sensor AND motor in only one year?! But they refused to do that.

So now I have a motor sitting in a box and an unusable treadmill. By the way, the invoice that came with the motor claims it’s a $995 part. The entire treadmill sells for $1200 so I still don’t understand why they couldn’t just replace the treadmill.

This isn’t the same product nor company it used to be :-(.

This is an attractive and well designed treadmill from the same parent company as NordicTrack. In fact, there is a very similar looking NordicTrack model but this one, I feel, looks better. Before getting into a brief review, I would like to highlight the fact that this treadmill may need lubricating right out of the box.

When we set ours up, it was fine for about the first week and then developed a squeak at certain inclines when I ran on it. My wife tends to walk so had not noticed but it was irritating to anticipate the squeaks on each footfall when the treadmill inclined.

I traced the issue to the screw underneath which raises or lowers the running platform. WD40 is no good for this – you need silicone lubricant. I bought some with a flexible tube as you need to put the platform in the storage position to get to the screw and then get the lubricant into a small space, onto the screw.

I have done this twice now since owning the treadmill (4 months) but I also put a lot of miles on and the incline is heavily used as well. That out of the way, the unit is heavy and requires a helper to at least move it to the assembly area.

As some reviews have stated, some of the pre-drilled screw holes are missing which makes you over-think connecting the plastic trim. However, the screws themselves appear to be self-tapping so you can easily just screw them in to the plastic and underlying metal without too much hassle.

We had one part of the trim down on the floor which doesn’t stay in place but is not really noticeable and does not cause any issue. I would have given 5 stars for quality if that was connected and all the drill holes had been present.

Since getting this set up in our workout room, we have used it most days between two of us. My wife does her own thing and isn’t bothered with the iFit library but I have used the free 1-year subscription to do a lot of the series and taken part in some live 5K and 8K events.

They even send you a medal if you complete and reply to the email that follows a live event! I bought the optional heart-rate monitor which pair well with the treadmill. It is utilized in most of the iFit workouts so that it will speed up or slow down your pace if you are not in the correct heart rate zone for the expected effort.

The only real complaint I have is that the integrated tablet screen is a bit small and I struggle to read some of the data. The more expensive NordicTrack treadmills seem to have much bigger and movable screens so if I ever upgrade, I will probably head there.

In the meantime, this is a great machine and was priced well. I will hopefully put many more miles on this before ever needing to upgrade.

Very difficult shipping and handling problems/home assembly info: Our first Proform 2000 was damaged in shipment so we ordered another. Walmart made good on the discounted price. The second was received with a cut in the large box it came in and plastic pieces of the front hood/cover had dropped into the motor and now we have to have a new motor and cover/hood to be installed onsite.

Like most home equipment, “you” are the final manufacturer. The parts were provided very neatly separated and packed and it was not that difficult to follow the instructions. Most parts went together with no problems, however, the screw holes on the top rails were not finished well so it took extra/scary effort to apply parts there.

thought I would strip them. the manufacturer should be more careful ensuring that. Hooking up to wi-fi, starting up the system, registering online. all went well. There is a bit of a start up time after turning it on and before usage but, hey, “first world problems”, right? My wife has not actually used it yet, however, our first basic trials seemed OK so, after the new motor and hood/cover are put on, we expect this to be a good experience.

Controls are fairly easy to use and the noise is OK. There would have been a fourth or fifth star if it weren’t for the challenging shipping and maintenance problems upfront. We’ve had a Proform treadmill before getting daily usage for about seven years and had NO problems.

Best Buy’s service and delivery was great!! Proform treadmill, was a little disappointing. When we finished the assembly, we noticed a loose screw sticking out the bottom of the housing. Eventually go the screw out.

Within the first couple of uses, noticed there would be clanking sound occasionally at start or end of the workout. Spent 2. 5 hours on hold and then talking with tech support for them to send me a replacement motor.

Had to do replacement myself. Didn’t resolve the problem. I did some troubleshooting and found that there was something loose in the drive roller. Called and spent another hour on hold until I got tech support and they sent me a replacement roller.

Now it’s back together, but I had to do all the repairs myself and couldn’t use the treadmill for about 3 weeks while the parts were being shipped each time and I found time to repair the treadmill. Gave it 2 stars because now that it’s working, it seems to be solid and works well.

Just not sure how long until I find another manufacturing defect.

Our Sole F80 ordered Jan 2, 2022 performs well, with one exception. For the most part, it’s easy to use, and has some storage for my phone & water bottle. The display offers plenty of info and feedback to monitor my workout.

I selected the F80 mainly because of its high ratings AND that it is considered a QUIET treadmill. Problem is, at the speed of 2. 5 to 2. 6 mph, an annoying whahm-whahmm-whahm pulsing noise becomes evident.

Then, as I increase speed to 2. 7 mph, the noise quits! The noise isn’t evident when the F80 is running with no one on it, and at 140 lbs I’m not highly overweight to put stress on it! I contacted the company March 27, 2022 & sent them a video with sound, but the rep said he couldn’t hear anything unusual.

Insisting they treat my problem seriously, they replied they weren’t sure what the noise is. Perhaps to pacify me, they decided to mail a new drive belt, and would send a technician to install it under warranty.

I was to receive a call from a technician in the area to schedule an appointment. The drive belt arrived, but no technician called. I emailed Sole again. My warranty request was updated & they re-submitted the order for a technician.

That was May 20, 2022, and yet again, no call from a technician. After a dozen emails, at this point, July 19, 2022 I’ve sort of given up, which, in the end may be their warranty strategy. So, though the F80 would earn a 5-star rating other than the noise at 2.

5-2. 6 mph, their Warranty Support rates ZERO with me.

First of all the enclosed chest strap didn’t work(won’t connect) even after I changed batteries. Customer service is abysmal and that’s being kind. When I contacted them about sending me another chest strap, I got a canned “we will respond within 5 to 7 business days” response.

The actual response was only a few days later but they said they could not see where I had registered the F80(which I did the 1st day I had it) so they would need ALL the registration info in the email to even consider sending me another chest strap.

You know what, keep it, yeah, I bought a $1,600 treadmill because I wanted to cheat you out of a. 39 chest strap, good call. But the 2 things that have me considering returning it are: 1. The mileage only shows to the tenths, not the hundredths, and while this may seem minor, consider you want to run/walk 1 3/4 miles or 2 1/4 miles, all you get is 2.

2 to 2. 3, not 2. 25. Every treadmill at ANY gym I’ve ever run on had the display to the hundredths, it’s really a no-brainer. And btw, I sent Sole customer service a message about this and whether or not it could be a software update in the future and surprisingly, no response.

The last thing that I should have noticed at Dick’s was that the belt IS NOT and CAN NOT be level. The way it’s designed, there’s a. 2 or maybe. 3 uphill incline and you would know this when you put a level on the support side(s) or even push the level on the belt, either way, it’s a small incline.

So, all in all, I would say consider competitors before just going with CR recommendation(which is what I did) but Dick’s has a 90 day return policy so I will most likely return it and get something else.

I received and set up my treadmill roughly three weeks ago and have loved it from the moment I stepped on it. I would recommend having someone else install/set up as it is time consuming. It took my husband and I around two and half or three hours to assemble and two people were definitely needed at certain steps.

It is a great unit overall, sturdy, solid, doesn’t shake or wobble when in use ( I mainly run, speed walk, or incline walk on it). It not only feels high quality but the appearance also is impressive.

It looks sleek and the screen included is a fantastic size with great visual effects. The software does seem to need to update often but other than that it works great with no freezing or glitches. I like the features of the screen/software including the basic lap feature as much as the special features the ifit membership has to offer.

Overall it is a high quality unit. I think the price point of which it is sold at is fair for everything it has to offer. I believe I will be able to keep and use the unit for many many years to come.

I love this treadmill. The engineers who designed this did a great job and Lifespan deserves a lot of credit for offering a treadmill that both automatically folds and unfolds. It was the only treadmill I found during my search which did so.

I am a 65 year old woman with a back injury. Most folding treadmills require leaning all the way down to lift the deck of the treadmill back up which is a huge problem for me. This treadmill solves that problem and makes it possible to work out regardless of the weather OUTSIDE as you can remain in the climate controlled haven of your home.

It is also fairly easy to wheel around if you need to move it around the room. You don’t have to be the Hulk, or have a good back to do so. This makes my life much easier. While the treadmill is great, the checkout process was a little strange.

I purchased the treadmill during the Memorial Day sale and the price kept changing in my cart (sometimes displaying correctly as a discount and sometimes not) which caused me some concern. I’m glad I persevered, however, as the final result was as promised on the site.

I mention this to help reassure those who might experience the same thing. Hopefully, Lifespan can solve that glitch during other sales. I also had a less than stellar experience with the white glove delivery service where they deliver the treadmill to your home and fully assemble it — a must for me given my back situation.

I commend Lifespan for having this option. At first, I thought my delivery would be one of the success stories. I made contact with the delivery service without much problem and they were able to deliver within a reasonable time frame.

The treadmill was going into a room with hardwood floors so I had some protective padding in case it was needed during the assembly process. The delivery person told me he didn’t need it. Since I didn’t know what was involved with the assembly I took him at his word.

BIG MISTAKE. Although he said nothing to me at the end I noticed a big scrape on the floor that had not been there previously. So, my recommendation to you is that if you have flooring you value make sure the assembler protects the flooring.

On a more positive note, the treadmill has operated well since the assembly. So, the delivery person knew how to properly assemble the treadmill, he just didn’t realize how to do so without damaging the floor.

I have now had the treadmill for a few months and it has worked very well. It has increased the amount of my exercise. The Texas heat made exercising outside difficult and Covid and the Delta variant (combined with my senior status) made exercising in the gym not a safe option.

Now, however, I can easily exercise in the climate controlled conditions of my home while watching whatever I want to to keep me entertained. I definitely recommend this treadmill.

After spending days and weeks researching treadmills we decided to go with Life Span Fitness because they are known for their good warranties and customer support. However, after our recent customer support experience we regret buying our second LifeSpan Fitness treadmill.

Our treadmill is less than a year old and it stopped working. Customer support said it was probably the running belt, so we waited 3 months for a replacement. In addition, neither the phone number or email address to the service company to replace the belt work.

What good is a five year warranty if the treadmill does not work during that time? As you can imagine, it is very frustrating to have a large piece of exercise equipment that does not work and just collects dust.

In addition, unlike a couple years ago, you will not be able to talk to a human if/when you call customer support, your voicemails will not be returned, and you will need to wait at least 10 days to get a response to your emails.

If you are like me and buying a LifeSpan treadmill because of their warranty and customer support, I would encourage you to research other companies with similar, if not better options, for the same price and better customer support— as I’m sad to report that LifeSpan is no longer a leader in the fitness equipment industry in these key areas.

I purchased the TR5500i in the hopes to get exercise in during the cold months while dealing with COVID. The treadmill arrived and I set it up following the directions, which were straightforward. The treadmill operated for a total of 7 minutes.

7 minutes is all I got – over $2,000 for 7 minutes of exercise. After 7 minutes of use, the treadmill stopped and gave me an E9 error with a number to call lifespan. After lot of back and forth with Lifespan’s technical support, I was told a part needed to be replaced in the treadmill and this part would be installed by a repair person.

However, the repair companies that lifespan connected me with were located in other states. And because of this, it would take them nearly a month to be able to make the repair. So for over $2,000 – I am stuck with a treadmill that worked for 7 minutes for a month.

Lifespan support told me there was “nothing they could do” despite me giving them the contact information for local repair shops that could make the repair within a week. I should also note that Lifespan’s Customer service line is nearly always unavailable.

I had to spend hours on hold, left countless messages, and used the silly automated webservice here 100’s of times to get someone to respond to me. Its been a terrible experience overall. This is a $2,000 paperweight and the company is very difficult to work with.

There are tons of better options out there – just save yourself the headache.

My husband bought this treadmill and as a manufacturing employee for 15 years (and my husband a Mechanical and Repair Manager) of an ATM Company, we both are asking ourselves if this company even has a Quality Department.

Packing was excellent, and the quality and assembly of the product of the treadmill itself is well made and easy enough to assemble, however the plastic control panel is horrible quality for assembly per molding of the plastic.

The screws for the bar in front absolutely will not snap together no matter how you loosely you tighten the screws in the back. Turns out the screws included for the front plastic bar is not near long enough.

Either that or the inside top 4 bosses does not meet up with the inside bottom bosses. This issue also causes the plastic arm pieces not to rest correctly. Another issue is the bottom screw holes on the metal arm rails, that the plastic bottom arm rail cover screw to, are not tapped out so now we have to go buy a tap so the screws will screw in.

I had read before purchasing that you do not need a subscription to activate the treadmill, however that little trick is hidden from the purchaser. To run the treadmill in manual mode you have to press the blue IFIT button on the top right on the control panel 15 seconds then FINALLY you can use the treadmill in manual mode.

I do understand wanting to sell the service but it is quite deceptive to not include that instruction in the manual. After all, the customer DID spend over $600 on the physical product and more than deserves to have clear written instructions on how to make their treadmill work.

There are plenty of die hard Apple-Heads globally who I’m quite sure the ifit service is more than financially supported. Much, much appreciation to the person a few reviews before me that gave instruction as to how to run in manual mode.

I would say that I wouldn’t buy this again for those issues, however I would then have to add nothing beats a well made old treadmill, but those days are long gone. The treadmill and features themselves really are good.

• I know they don’t build things like they used to, but the new 5000 is extremely disappointing in fit, finish, materials, and sturdiness in comparison to our current (and quite old) ProForm we were trying to replace.

• My general recommendations after this experience would be: • Don’t purchase any large heavy exercise equipment you haven’t examined and used in-store, as logistically and financially it can be very impractical to return • Don’t buy any iFit enabled exercise equipment unless you intend to maintain one of those relatively expensive iFIT subscriptions for the life of the equipment (note this can easily cost more than the equipment over the life of that equipment).

• Consider purchasing delivery and/or assembly options for larger/heavier equipment if it needs to go up or down stairs to get to its desired location • As to the ProForm 5000 • It has no way to permanently bypass iFit so every time you want to use it you have to go through a multi step bypass process, its “50 internal programs” don’t seem to number anywhere near 50 and they are heavily interspersed with many more locked programs you have to browse through to get to the built in ones, and “manual” use still requires the bypass and is incredibly rudimentary and unattractive.

• The console is sleek an clean looking with good control layouts but constructed largely of thin and fragile feeling hard plastic, and ill-fitting components and cladding with sharp edges and gaps. The whole console is easy to shake around significantly with one finger and a water bottle in the water bottle rattles around even when walking slowly on the treadmill.

The large fan enclosure that looks like it holds two fans side by side is mostly facia with one small noisy fan in the center third. It has four speeds and generates a reasonable air flow but there is no directional adjustment and is directed at your stomach if you are of average height.

• The treadmill base is generally quiet when running but mine has a periodic grinding sound that I believe is the belt grinding on some of the plastic cladding at some point but I haven’t isolated it yet as it makes the sound only when someone is on it.

The elevation adjustment is noisy and slow and returns to 0 at the end of each exercise session. • Overall I would not recommend it to anyone given its quality and value for money and its very poor user experience without an iFIT subscription.

I searched awhile for a new treadmill and decided on the ProForm 5000. ProForm now has a 2000 which replaced the 5000 but it is virtually the same machine for the same price. I think this has a slightly larger motor but the size and capabilities are the same.

Both ProForm and Best Buy offer free shipping but I bought from BB because I wanted the delivery, installation and removal which I eventually cancelled because all they could offer was the service 6 weeks after the arrival of the treadmill.

so we painstakingly did it all ourselves. It is a very heavy piece of equipment and we were placing it on a second floor so that took 3 people. The assembly was 4 hrs and you definitely need 2 people.

The reason it took so long was that screws didn’t fit the holes that were predrilled in several places so we had to improvise. Honestly was a nightmare for us but it’s up and running. I’m impressed with the 14″ touch screen , the bluetooth speakers and the cushioned deck.

The motor is super quiet and smooth. We are not using iFit but on this machine it’s not a problem at all like the reviews I read from others. When you start the machine it gives you an option to set up an account for iFit or manual mode.

Maybe this is because it is a version before they made iFit necessary to start the programs? It does have wifi but that only works with iFit. The bluetooth works with my music apps on my phone as well as video audio but not phone audio.

I LOVE the 14″ touch screen and monitor set up. The fan is positioned lower than on my Horizon treadmill so I can actually feel it better. So far no complaints & I am truly enjoying this treadmill. It’s a solid machine, great running deck and quiet.

Perfect for home use. A side note: Best Buy’s delivery guys were awesome!!.

This is my very first treadmill- after a lot of research and comparisons I landed on this one. I’ve had it since April 2022 and now it is May 2022 so I think I have a decent idea on the quality of it which prompts me to write this review.

It was fairly easy to set up, you will need an extra hand on some parts but as long as you follow directions you’ll be just fine (took me about 4hrs from start to finish). The machine is very, very heavy so if you have stairs I suggest in home delivery if possible.

Has a heart monitor that you can strap around that the machine picks up automatically. Contrary to some reviews YOU DO NOT NEED USE iFIT to use this machine (there is a manually start). However, using the iFit programs makes everything much more enjoyable.

When using the iFit program the incline and speed adjust for what you see on the screen (pretty cool) but, you can always over ride it so don’t worry about that. The platform is a tad bouncy but in all honesty it is better than running on hard concrete.

I would equate it to running on fresh blacktop (kind of squishy). All together, so far so good- very happy with the purchase.

Build The treadmill came nicely packaged in a large box on a crate. Most of the pieces were light enough that one person could carry them, although the main portion of the treadmill, the motor and the belt, required two people to carry.

The instructions were easy to follow, and it was obvious that the intent was for the installation to be quick and simple. We encountered two problems during the process that required a little extra time.

First, you have to pull the cord through one of the posts to connect the motor to the display. A piece of wire is pre-run through that post to make it easy to pull after you wrap the end of it around the cord.

Unfortunately, the wire came unwrapped, and we had to shake the cord through the post the rest of the way. Second, the display portion was quite difficult to fit onto the rest of the treadmill and required getting it in just the right spot to get it to sit correctly.

After some time we were able to get it together and it’s been working great. The Hardware The most important part of any treadmill is the running platform. The treadmill has a very wide and long belt with plenty of room to run.

It’s also nice that you can adjust how firm the platform is to get either a soft or stiff rebound. The display feels well appointed with the 10 inch screen, and the speakers are loud enough that you can hear what is playing on the display over the sound of the treadmill.

The only issue we encountered with the display were the support bars that extend out. I found that my running style resulted in some hand and arm strikes against those bars, which required some adjustment in how I run on the treadmill.

The bed folds up easily and has a safety release to keep it from failing. The release took us some time to get used to compared to other treadmills I’ve used since it requires that you put your foot against the middle of it and pull the treadmill down.

Since this took some time to get used to as an adult, I feel that it will be extra safe for our kids. The running surface goes all the way from 12 degrees incline to 3 degrees decline, which provides a nice range of scenarios for most training.

I did running, walking, and hiking on the treadmill and felt that it suited each purpose fine. It also comes with a heart rate monitor which connects automatically to the treadmill. You can monitor your heart rate right on the screen along with all your other stats.

It is comfortable to wear and another helpful way to train. The Software The iFit system that comes with the treadmill and the iFit subscription that provides premium access to workouts and routes really push the treadmill to a new level.

I have a particular outdoor route I really enjoyed growing up. I have since moved away from that area and haven’t been able to run that route in more than a decade. Using the route builder option, I was able to experience that route again with the street view walkthrough and the auto-adjusting incline.

It created a small moment of nostalgia even though I was running in my basement hours away from that route. The subscription also provides other pre-built routes that include coaching. I was able to try a few of these and found that they were engaging, adventurous, and a nice way to mix up your everyday workout.

Overall, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a treadmill with some bells and whistles but doesn’t want something that will cost and arm and a leg. It’s a great mid-range option. I was given this product for a reduced price in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.

NordicTrack is an excellent brand that produces well-made treadmills and the EXP 10i is a great example of that! I have owned several treadmills over the last 10 years, and this one has many great features at an affordable price.

PROS: -The deck length is nice and long with plenty of room to lengthen my stride without feeling like I’m getting too close to the back. -Sturdy build and easy, fold-up design makes it fit just about any space -Loved the 10inch screen that makes following iFit workouts a breeze -Incline and decline feature make for fantastic indoor hike/vert training -The speakers are clear and offer a nice range in volume to easily hear music and/or the trainer over the sound of the treadmill operating -Bluetooth connection makes syncing to phone/personal music a breeze -Flex in deck helps reduce stress to joints -No slip in the belt at high speeds or at incline/decline -I LOVE the iFit program that is available on this machine! Especially enjoy that it uses the heartrate monitor to personalize the training experience CONS: -The fan is not very effective and is somewhat loud -The belt cover and motor at the front of the deck aren’t underneath the stand quite far enough, so I found myself catching my feet on it when I crowded too close to the front.

I tend to crowd the front, so that’s a personal problem that may not be a problem for others. Overall, this is a fantastic machine that I would recommend to anyone, especially if you don’t want to spend a ton.
