20 Best Travel Trailer For Family (2023 Updated)

I’ve had this stroller for 2 years now and continue to be frustrated with it. I knew within a few days of using it that it had fundamental design issues but Burley’s restrictive return policy meant that I couldn’t return it unless it was in original packaging and essentially unused.

I’ve tried to write reviews previously but Burley rejects them–they only want to allow 4- and 5-star on the website. There are numerous design misses with this product. Firstly, it’s incredibly bulky and doesn’t pack down well.

The folding mechanism requires so much force to set back up that my wife is unable to do it. I’ve thought about setting up something with channel lock pliers but am afraid of damaging the frame. The big wheels are really easy to attach and remove, which is nice, but the front wheel bar takes a lot of force to swap in and out.

Even when folded the stroller is super bulky and takes up the entirety of the back of our minivan with the 3rd row folded 1/2 way down. The handlebar mechanism is dangerously inadequate–I’ve had it suddenly ratchet up (stripping the adjustable height mechanism) when taking my twins up and down stairs.

Also, inexplicably for a jogging stroller, there is nowhere to put a water bottle or anything you might need quick access to when running. The single wheel/bike attachment arm sticks incredibly far out in front of the stroller.

Be prepared to feel like you’re driving an RV when navigating grocery store aisles. The 2 front wheels you can get for a shorter wheelbase should be included in the base price. The seats recline independently, which is nice, but they only recline a little bit–think less than an airline seat–so good luck getting your little ones to nap in this thing.

There’s also a substantial amount of storage behind the seats but it’s only really accessible when the seats aren’t reclined. I would have returned this thing long ago if Burley didn’t have such a restrictive return policy.

We bought this for my son to go along with his midnight black John Deere Gator XUV 550, thinking that since it is identical to the John Deere version, it would work. However, the hitch that is included to attach the trailer to the vehicle is not usable on the Gator vehicles.

Will be reaching out to PegPerego to hopefully get a resolution.

Yes it comes with car side hitch piece. I searched all kind of reviews/Peg Perego website/etc before buying to find out and couldn’t, so yes the hitch part for the car is included with this trailer. Read the text instructions as you’re assembling, the pictures don’t show clear detail where the washers and other small parts go into the axle assembly so I had to unbolt and reassemble it to get everything where it belonged after my dry fit working off the pictures.

Best Christmas gift ever! Best Christmas gift purchased for our youngest grandson !! The instructions on assembly were spot on. The material that the Peg Perego Adventure Trailer is made up of means the trailer will last for quite some time.

Our grandson loves it 🙂 and so do we.

Its really a great trailer for that price range. Made wella and sturdy and has a great cargo area. The only downsize to it is the harness for the child. I feel like they really cheaped that area out and it’s kinda not 100 percent safe because the harness straps are so cheap my daughter comes out of them all the time.

That’s the only problem I have with it. Other then that it rides smooth and looks great when riding.

Really like this bike trailer. We’ve used it 2 times now just in residential areas with some traffic and trails and seems to work well for our needs. Sturdy and light. Little guy is happy in it so were happy.

Really satisfied with this product brought get around with granddaughter with also my two small Chokies all appear happy that I can combined take out all at the same time. Trailer is solid and spacious also ideal getting heavy shopping as its amazing for usage Worth the money paying that little extra that’s Sturdy.

Bought a month ago it is similar to the Halfords trailer we owned 15 years ago. I think it’s worth the extra for the neat solid plastic floor tray and aluminium frame. It rides well though slightly bouncy at 40psi in the tyres.

We did think of a trailer with suspension but decided against it in case it takes more pedalling energy. We’re going on roads and canals mainly and have hybrid bikes without suspension.

Bought to get my 2 year old to and from nursery. It’s a half hour ride. This is perfect, EXCEPT, there’s no option to recline so when she falls asleep her head tips forward so doesn’t seem comfortable.

When she’s not sleeping though it’s amazing! She can bring her teddies etc and sit them next to her, it’s water proof so she stays dry. Can’t wait until the weather gets nicer so we can go out to the park in it.

Just wish her seat reclined. Literally the only negative I can find. The seat belt holds her perfectly, the foot area is great as it’s hard plastic so Easy to clean. It folds down for storage. The break is good.

I purchased the Polar LG7 for routine residential lawn & garden use for which it is entirely suitable. I particularly like its light weight & ease of storage in an upright position to conserve space.

Its 7 cubic ft. capacity is adequate for my. 75 acre yard but you may want to consider a larger capacity model for bigger lots/projects. I find the claim of a 600 lb. weight capacity dubious but will yield to the experience of others who have found this claim to be authentic.

My purchase was a floor model so no assembly was required on my part. It easily fit into my GMC Terrain with the seats folded down. It will be to your benefit to comparison shop if that is an option as I found a 10% to 20% difference in price between various retailers of the Polar LG7.

I have had two Polar Sled’s in the two larger sizes for many years and have found them to be completely dependable with no issues. I use these on a frequent basis attached to an ATV for working on large wooded tracts with varying terrain.

This smaller size is great for tight turning radius and although the undercarriage axle assembly is built to a slightly different design it has worked perfectly for the load design. Personally I have added tie down attachments to the top edge to secure equipment to prevent items from bouncing out during usage.

Additionally, I have attached a 1 7/8th ball hitch to the tow pin point for ease of attachment and greater degrees of movement. I would highly recommend this smaller size trailer or any of the Polar Sled products to anyone that wants a quality product that will withstand the test of harsh long term usage.

Not what I was originally looking for but the steel one wasn’t in stock. This one works good so far. Nice tow behind for the four wheeler. Have had probably 450 lbs of wood in it and dump latch held.

I wouldn’t recommend dumping heavy loads with the dump body and haven’t tried as there is no piston or anything attatched to the dump body! Works good for leaves, sticks, and other lawn debris or hauling.

Works for fire wood from the splitter to the stacking pile what more can you ask for. Time will tell if it holds up but for what it is it works well so far.

I have been having a blast with this trailer. Four wheels provides a lot of dampening for my kids to load into the back and ride comfortably as it follows the ATV through the bumpy landscape. It is easy to navigate (including reverse operations) and the dumpster operation is well engineered.

Lots of capacity and incredibly solid bucket and frame. I haven’t put it through all the motions yet but it looks and feels like it was built to last. The only surprise was that the four wheels still connect to the frame from a single access point.

It appears to be the same axle they use in the 2 wheel version. In theory, you could take 2 tires off the 4 wheel frame mount then directly to this point and have the 2 wheel version of the trailer. As a result, the trailer doesn’t stand upright on its own, which is probably safer but a little different than what I thought I was buying.

With a Milwaukee ratchet and a deep socket wrench set, this was a breeze to assemble. Very happy with the purchase.

The trailer came in box, only took about 20 minutes to assemble, the framework and axle is high quality steel and the tub is a really thick sturdy plastic. Used mine to haul gravel for my driveway and it hauls very well.

It’s a very good trailer for the price and very useful to have.

This is the second polar trailer I have purchased. They are light, easy to maneuver, and work great! I’ve hauled corn, rock, and logs in it. The best trailer I’ve ever bought.

Bought to compliment new Honda Talon UTV. It will haul so much more than the UTV is capable of. Excellent Product. Indispensable for hunting purposes; hauling deer feeders, tree stands, 100’s of pounds of deer corn, not to mention hauling out harvested animals.

In searching for a trailer for my ATV, I researched extensively. First, to see what was out there and second, to see what people thought of them. After having had my trailer for several months now, I figured I would write this to help the rest of you out there save some time in making an informed decision.

For reference, I generally use the trailer on weekends only and not for continuous professional use. That being said, I have repeatedly loaded the trailer to capacity and hauled it over rugged terrain and on steep pitches and traverses.

I compared about ten different trailers, ranging in price from about $300 to $1800. Obviously there was a range in size along with the range in price, so I thought hard about exactly what I intended to do with the trailer.

I generally use the trailer to haul around wood and stone on a tract of land that is hilly and densely wooded. So, for me, strength was primary and being the “right size” was a close second. The right size for me was in the middle of the range – big enough to make my trips worthwhile but maneuverable enough to get around through the trees.

Capacity for me would be determined by weight and not volume. (Had volume been my primary goal – i. e. hauling hay or supplies – I likely would have gone for the Polar 1500 which is quite a bit wider and has a box that extends over the tires.

) The best manufacturers tend to mention the weight of steel used in construction of their products when they have something to be proud of. This is the case with Polar and I was not disappointed when I unpacked the box.

This trailer, as told by the manufacturer, is very well-built. Heavy gauge steel is used throughout the frame with full-seam welds and large bolts at assembly points. The box is a durable plastic, which admitted seems thin (as I had read in other reviews).

But I have yet to cause it any harm after heaving in many tons of wood and stone. As for the tandem vs. single option – I can only speak for the tandem (of course) but can easily tell that it does an excellent job of taking loads over rough terrain and the extra pair of tires helps to keep the trailer from sinking in the soft stuff.

The downside of any tandem trailer is that tight cornering is tough – as two wheels must skid – which can be hard on whatever ground you are on. I just try not to make tight turns when I am on the lawn.

Last but not least, the price. This trailer fell in the lower middle of the range for prices but, as far as I have been able to research, is in the high end of the range for quality, so I feel that it is an exceptional deal.

I could have spent more but doubt I could have been any more satisfied. I should also note that I installed a 1-7/8″ ball coupler instead of using the tab and pin connection as I felt it would perform better.

I highly recommend this trailer.

The trailer but sent in a timely manner customer service as well as the store was very cooperative. The downside to it was the extension rails were pictured but not included. It should be advertised as an option.

Overall, order was very well handled, project, with the exception, was as expected and easily assembled.

I did my homework on this purchase the reviews were amazing in terms of how easy it is to use and change from stroller to bike stroller and size. It is a super smooth ride easy to push as a stroller great on all the bumps on the sidewalk.

However I received it last week and after assembling it I was so disappointed in the how much effort it took to collapse it. I had a hard time getting the wheels in. The stroller is actually bigger than I thought and my19 month old is so snug in there, like unbelievably and she isn’t even big.

I got this to use in the winter time but there is no way I am going to be able to get her buckled with a jacket on. I tried contacting customer support immediately after assembling it but I can’t return it so now I am stuck with a 500 plus bike stroller I am not going to be able to use.

We did a bunch of research to try and decide if we should buy a used Weehoo off of marketplace or go ahead and get a new one. The newer model is significantly more expensive than the product used to be, but we decided it was probably worth it because it would include a kickstand and shade covers (as pictured in the product pics).

However, we received a product with no kickstand or shade covers. If we had known these were not included, we would not have bought this product new. On top of that, the product we did receive arrived with scuffs on it and all of the zip ties cut.

I don’t know if it had been previously used or just wasnt properly packaged or what- but it added to our frustration. We contacted customer service and were told that the shade covers and kickstand are added costs, and that they’d comp us the shade covers.

They didn’t have the kickstand. I personally would think twice before ordering from Outland again.

I have an older model weehoo single trailer and we wanted this double to pull two kids. It is functional but not refined. It is very heavy and hard to get the kids in and out without the thing falling over.

Also, some of the materials in this newer model are not as nice as the old trailer, the material of the seats and saddle bags just feels much cheaper. I was very happy that the open box model came with all of the pieces, but the push bar that connects the bike to the trailer was bent and I could not get the pin through the lower connector.

I had to make-shift something to get it to work. I am pretty sure that the bent bar is why it was returned and I would like to have a non-bent push bar. Overall, I like the flexibility I have with this trailer, but it could be so much nicer for not that much more effort on the manufacturers part.

I am very glad I did not pay full price for this item. I only recommend this for strong bikers with good balance because it is hard to pull and get the kids in and out.

Soooo excited to get this. Incredibly easy to put together alone. My kids were excited but getting them in it, alone was not easy. It scared them. We are right at the 80 pound limit which I didn’t realize until it came.

I had to back them up a little to get going from where I balanced them and my bike tire popped up and it tipped over onto their side and they were scared to death and it hurt them. It was so heavy and long for a short girl to control alone.

Then I convinced them to let me ride. I started riding and had to stop every few feet because it was so wobbly and I consider myself a really good rider. Time will tell. Definitely wrenched my back trying to rescue them from my tire popping up and then the wobbling.

Neither of us our looking forward to another try any time soon. I’d probably get two singles over the double and always ride with someone else to help you. I hope we eventually love it. Very fast shipping once they got the trailer.

Tires are exactly what I wanted. They were delivered EXTREMELY fast and all came undamaged. I will be installing this weekend, but I’m not concerned with reviewing the tires. I’ve already run the Goodyears and they are top notch.

Priority Tire came through extremely fast and efficiently. I absolutely will use again.

The brand says it all. The product is solid, reassuring, spacious and in high quality in overall. Our baby is comfortable in it therefore loved it! As we are keeping it indoors, he is dragging us to it all the time for a trip around.

The safety lock is secure, and the space for putting stuff at the back is enough to carry all the necessary stuff. It comes with two layers of protection, a net and a rain protector. It can also be converted to a cargo trailer in seconds without taking anything out which is a big plus.

I have been using it with a bike for a long time and it’s like slipping on the butter. We are so satisfied with it and we never use the stroller any more. However, there are two things I really wish that could be different.

The first one is, the bottom place where the kid is stepping is a thin clothing, which could be torn in a small timeframe as our son likes to hit the ground with his feet even when he is sitting, It could be strengthened with a firm material.

And the second one is the foam covering of the handle. You have to be careful when holding it as in our case, a torn has appeared on the fifth day of use and we couldn’t even notice why and when it was appeared.

These should be considered as improvements on the future productions.

This product is awesome for my family of 4. We love to get outdoors in the summer and have been wanting to get a bike trailer for our kids for some time. My kids have a blast riding along with us. This product is very durable, made by a well-reputable brand, and the versatility is amazing.

I love that it can fit both of my kids comfortably (they are 4 and 5), while protecting them from the elements. It can also convert to carry pets/things like groceries. We will be getting a dog in the near future so this will be a fun feature to try out.

My husband set it up so I cannot comment on the process of attaching it to a bicycle. I do like that the handlebar is adjustable in stroller mode. Since I am shorter than my husband it allows us to each adjust it to our own preferences.

It folds down which is very convenient if we want to go for a drive to a bike trail. It’s definitely good size, but we are able to fit it into our vehicle with no trouble.

The product came in secured package without any damage. It did not take much time to put it together and connecting to bike is very easy. My husband takes my kid for evening bike rides and it has become favorite pass time for my son.

It is spacious enough for 2 kids and can be converted into cargo trailer when required. The switching is very easy and can be done on the go. I love that it can be used as stroller too. Great affordable little trailer with some very nice features. Folding sides are a benefit for loading. I also have an earlier version of this trailer and the newer ones have made some improvements to the latching at the corners of the sides and gate.

Tire size is nice to have larger for highway speeds and general load capacity. Does not come with a spare but we added one and a folding tongue jack in place of the stationary version. Gate could be a little longer for a lower angle when loading low clearance things such as mowers but you can work around this by cranking the jack down.

Build quality is very nice compared to other utility trailers. Frame has tube construction rather than angle iron like many others I’ve seen. Overall I’d recommend it for the money.

Pulls great, weighs nothing, easy to load stuff with the folding sides. I buy and sell power sports vehicles and this trailer is just perfect. I’ve had jet skis, quads, side by sides, lawn mowers, snowmobiles, dirt bikes and farm equipment on this trailer.

Purchased yesterday. The two guys that assisted me were amazing, we bought two trailers. Karavan 6 x 12. Great features, easy to use, fold down sides excellent. Price was amazing. Used a longer tow hitch with more drop and no issues with tailgate and tongue jack.

Purchased a “Gen 2″ trailer a month ago for the express purpose of hauling a 900 lb Harley bagger down to Florida from Northwest Indiana. The wire mesh is a bit thin for 450 lb per square foot, in other words two tires sitting on the mesh, 450 pounds on a 3″ x 4” area.

Not a problem as I intended on installing a 1/2″ green treated plywood deck that measurably added rigidity for a mere 70 lbs of extra weight. Also reinforced the ramp with the same plywood, 3′ wide, screwed all in with galvanized 1/4″ carriage bolts, fender washers, flat washers, lock washers and nuts.

My bike was about 2″ too long to have the ramp up, but no worries as I had intended to unbolt after getting the bike up, then jacking the bike up and turning the ramp 90 degrees and sliding under back wheel.

Worked perfect, no “air brake” with the ramp up. I added a trailer jack, as, God forbid, I were to lose both tires to flats, my tongue weight was way over what I would want to lift. Ok, now that we have gone through all of that, here is what I think.

The trailer towed perfect, empty, and with the 900 lb load. The paint is better than the first Gen trailers, but I still have bubbles on one rail where it was not cleaned well enough before painting.

But no worries, will grind down this spring and primer and paint. The tires have a sufficient load rating, and the speed rating is 75 mph, good enough. A friend has the “first gen” trailer from a couple of years ago, and he was very impressed with the square channel outer frame, and felt it was 10 times more rigid than his.

The only thing that I was surprised by was the gas mileage. I have a 7’x16’x 6. 5′ enclosed trailer that I get 10 mpg fully loaded pulling with my 2010 5. 4 liter 4×4 truck. Pulling the trailer and bike I got 13 mpg.

Over a few (?) beers, my friend and I deduced it is not the weight, but the wind drag on the wire mesh, even with the plywood on top. Going to maybe attempt to cover the bottom of the mesh with something, a review for later.

Don’t expect a high strength rigid trailer, with show car paint, not for the money you will pay for this. Those trailers go for three times the amount you will pay at TSC for this trailer. If you are hauling a bike or a medium size zeroturn, a great trailer.

Be certain to check that ALL bolts are tightened before driving off, and that wiring is good. I would recommend this trailer.

I’m loving my new trailer! I needed 5′ wide for my John Deere mower , but I didn’t want a huge trailer. 5×8 seems smaller than it really is, which is perfect! I can haul the mower when needed as well as all my project essentials like mulch, rocks, dirt, etc.

I drilled holes in the cross bars and bolted treated lumber on as “sides. ” They are 1″x8″ so that the ramp will still fold inwards. I was uncomfortable drilling holes through the powder coat – but to be honest, there are places the powder coat wasn’t perfect and it’s already starting to show a little rust beginning.

I may as well have a few rust spots on the top, too. AND make this trailer more functional for the various types of things I need to haul. I bought a large tarp which I’ll put down before loading rocks, mulch or dirt, and I’m really pleased at how functional this will be.

The trailer pulled quietly even when empty, and it’s attractive as heck. I LOVE that the ramp folds inwards/down, because when they don’t – they are just wind catchers and kill your mileage. This was one of the deciding features for me.

I also wanted a treated wood floor – vs the mesh that stretches out, breaks and requires welding to fix. I suppose if I were a welder, I wouldn’t care – but I’m not. I’m quite satisfied with the purchase of this trailer.

I waited for the 10% purchase deal from Tractor Supply and got a bargain. The price was very good and economical. Used trailers are hard to come by right now, and none nearly as nice as this, selling for more.

I don’t know how this got so many stars mine is a piece of absolute junk. I am on a road trip and needed something to haul my motorcycle because my hitch hauler broke. This was the only one anyone had for 100 miles so I went ahead and bought it.

First of all the post that connects the tongue to the trailer is held on by 2 little bolts, it’s not welded anywhere. Both of the tabs on the bars that lock the rear gate broke off so I have to have 2 people on either side just to get the gate down.

Not only that but all the boards are NAILED to the metal so have of them come out and all the boards start to warp. And finally, I have driven about 500 miles on the trailer with a motorcycle (300lb dirt bike) and a generator (100lb) and both tires are almost completely bald.

Even though I check the tire pressure every other has stop. This trailer was total junk and a huge waste of money. The quality control of this manufacturer is absolutely horrible. Please don’t waste your money on this.
