20 Best Travel Tote For Airplane (2023 Updated)

This is the second tote I bought from LE, trying to find the perfect tote to fit on my suitcase handle. The good: It’s well made, lightweight, not too large that it flops over your suitcase. The bad: A bit too tight to fit over my TravelPro handle.

but it works. Depending on how full it is, it might be easier to remove a few things to get it on the suitcase. The major issue is that there is no shoulder strap to carry it, once you check your luggage, it’s too much to carry by the handle and the straps aren’t long enough for shoulder carry.

While we are improving it, an inside pocket would be good as well as a larger outside pocket. Lastly, the handle wrap to hold the two carry straps together is ridiculous, not easy to manipulate. It should be a stiffer material and easier to wrap around.

I’m still searching for the perfect suitcase tote, this will work for now. I would only recommend if the things I mentioned wouldn’t bother you, or you just need a tote to throw in your car.

I ordered this bag for the sleeve that was supposed to fit over 8 inch wide handle on a samsonite rolling carryon. Doesn’t fit. I had to cut the sleeve and insert an extension piece with velcro fastener.

Now it works. Other than that, I like the bag. It has plenty of inside pockets of various sizes. It will hold my metal water bottle securely inside as well as a hurriedly stuffed in jacket. Lost a jacket at LAX because I didn’t have a bag to stuff it in.

Problem solved. Has a nice little ready access pocket on the outside for quickly needed items like tickets. Could use a shoulder strap. All in all, it’s a nice travel bag.

I found this bag to be roomy and flexible for under seat. stowage. I could improve this bag to be even better by: putting a bright contrasti g strip on top of the slot that is for slipping over your luggage carrier.

This would alert the owner that it is Not the side with the pocket. I stuck my phone into this side on the plane and it dropped to the floor. Glad I saw it! 2nd, place the inside pockets higher to the top of the bag.

Its hard to reach them in a crowded plain seat especially when your bag is full! Finally, consider having more outside pockets. If you had these features I would give a 5* rating!.

First off the price point is not for everyone. If you are like me, traveling on airplanes for business trips this is a MUST bag for you. Make sure you watch the short video on the item page as you will be able to see all the wonderful and organized compartments.

I can fit in my work laptop, charger, all purse essentials and still have room. It is beautifully made and lightweight. The classy gold hardware makes it perfect to bring to your business mtg and then perfect to bring as a purse to your business dinner mtgs.

I would not use this as an everyday purse. I believe the look and purpose really is for that business traveler.

It’s just okay. Good size and quality, beautiful color. The main reason I bought it was for water bottle holder- because I’m sick of my bottle falling over and leaking in my old day to day tote. My main complaint is that it doesn’t hold it’s shape when the side pockets are in use.

The shoulder straps aren’t sewn into place all the way up to the edge, nor is the inner lining tacked to the outer wall aside from right at the top seam, so the top inch or so of the sides droop down and inward and look sloppy whenever you put anything in the inside pockets.

Small detail but should have been easily avoidable. Probably back to Kate Spade next time.

Beautiful and functional. I’ve bought multiple pieces from the Tumi Voyageur line and have given the “just-in-case” totes as gifts. These totes fold into small rectangles and come packed in a separate carrying case that is multifunctional in its own right.

I always travel with an extra just-in-case tote — perfect for when you buy items while away that won’t fit into an already full suitcase. Great as a carry-on. While not inexpensive, these bags are durable and look fantastic.

I would buy over and over again!.

First time buyer…love everything about this bag except the inner and outer pockets. I’m not sure what the inner mesh with elastic edged pocket is for but it is clearly not a cell phone. While a larger screen iPhone fits, getting it in and out without wrangling with the elastic getting caught on both the phone and your hand is super annoying.

Really no matter what u put in it, your hand gets caught in the elastic fishing the item out etc …just put in regular flat edge sewn in pockets like most purses have. The outer pockets r functional but I’m baffled as to why they aren’t an inch or so larger to also accommodate a cell phone ? Especially the one with the flap over closure would be super handy for a phone.

And an average eyeglass case or pair of sunglasses wont even fit …therefore I find them a bit useless.

My first purchase and I’m delighted. Very well made with a lovely light material. I bought this for traveling as a companion to my carry on luggage and it fits beautifully over my case. It’s spacious enough to fit my liquid toiletries for easy take out at airport check, small make up bag, raincoat, umbrella, a jacket with extra room.

I can even add my cross badly Gucci if I want to. Love the pockets on the outside including the slip pocket at the back that can fit my phone, haven’t decided what to put in the other pockets as yet.

I own a minimum if 13 Royln bags. They are light weight but manage a ton in them without pulling seams or tearing. I am hoping to get the Big Mama in patent white for summer! I have carried these bags everywhere ( both plane and car) and they hold up nicely.

My only request is that the interiors not be black as it is hard to find some things with that dark interior. My daughter and granddaughters are requesting these bags for birthdays. I own some very expensive designer luggage but carry these more often for convenience and the fun of them.

I never worry about mishaps with Royln.

I was so excited to purchase this bag, because of the size. I am giving this a one star review because I can go no lower. I am highly dissatisfied and disappointed with the product. The inside fabric had some snags on the fabric.

Very poorly taken care of. The bag had lots of creases and folds and was stuffed with so much plastic stuffing, as if customer was to not notice the condition of the bag. It looked used or worn down.

I understand this was a clearance item. But why would you send a customer this? Why would they let another customer return this period??? It looked like it definitely had been used before. I honestly don’t believe in returning things because of the hassle of having to go through all of that, I shouldn’t have to return something in the first place, I should be happy and satisfied with my product the first time.

As much as one pays for these bags they should be handled and taken care of very well and delicately. The bag honestly looked used. That’s why I am giving it one star because this is the second time I have purchased an MK.

The first time the MK wristlet I brought I really liked, I went to return it because it was not properly wrapped as these expensive bags should be and the Little Zipper handle was all scratched up. When it should have been wrapped.

Really looked just bad and worn out. To my disappointment I went to return it and they didn’t have any more, so I just had to get a refund. The bag was a unique color and I was never able to find it anywhere again.

I’d thought I’d give dillards another try. This was definitely the last time though. I know now for a fact that employees and the company do not take care of these expensive products. Such a dissatisfaction and disappointment because customers pay a high price for these items, They could at the very least be packaged and taken care of properly.

Won’t be buying a bag again from here! I’ll just stick to the outlets even if I have to drive out there.

The middle zipper pocket inside is the best. Strap length could have been a cm shorter when adjusted the shortest length. There are only 2 lengths available and they aren’t different enough to bother adjusting the straps (which is a hassle bc the canvas is very tight at first).

I’m 5 ft tall w long torso and this bag takes up my whole body, so make sure to measure before you buy. Next time I will get a medium tote. Biggest disappointment with this bag is the huge dangling gold MK fob–it has a buckle on it so I thought I could remove it.

It’s sewn on tightly, you’d destroy the bag removing it. So if I’m out in the city I have this huge bag with this huge MK stuck to it–I’ll have to flip it around and wear it on my shoulder to avoid notice, or else use my smaller crossbody bag and pray that my toddler doesn’t require a change of clothes while out.

That said, I stay in the suburbs most of the time, so I’ll try to tolerate the fob. I don’t do logos and only buy MK for the quality. On that note–be careful not to let your ring scrape the exterior fabric, because it will leave a little mark where it dug in and scratched it.

This is my first fabric and I think next time I’ll stick with Saffiano. I didn’t care much for the feel of the pebbled leather so I went with canvas this time.

Love this gorgeous purse!. It’s big, roomy, classy and flashy! I am replacing an older purse with this new one. The leather is impeccable. The purse is made well. The Michael Kors hardware is shiny and eye catching.

I already had several wonderful comments while shopping with this purse. Love the quality and the care put into the making of this purse. Simply put, I went from Studio status to Red Carpet status in a few months.

If you’re debating ordering this bag just do it. I had reached out to the seller because I really wanted the pink bag that wasn’t available. The seller is insanely quick to respond and it was super awesome they put the pink one back up.

I adore it it’s a perfect size great material and the front isn’t a cheap sticker so this bag looks like it will last. I also ordered the organizer which is pretty decent is size I can fix all my things in it but it doesn’t take up the entire bag nor is it bulky.

Love the bag. The color and embroidery is lovely and it holds everything I need it to. The only thing I had issue with is the zipper came off. I was able to put it back on and probably have to super glue the end so it won’t come off again.

\n\nSo I’m updating my review to include that my initials were put in wrong. Partially my fault for not checking properly when I got it. As for the zipper, I had to super glue both ends of the zipper teeth to make sure the zipper didn’t come off so bit of a easy fix.

Still like the bag but some quality issues. Probably a 3. 5/4 star.

This bag is first class, premium quality. I love the roomy pockets, the slip-on opening to slide over my suitcase handle, the leather trim and carry handles, and shoulder strap. I fit so much into this tote bag and it slips easily under the seat.

Well made, good quality, nice design but overall don’t feel it was worth the price and I’m disappointed with purchase. Had the opportunity to use for recent trip and was surprised how little I could fit in the bag.

I had a checked in bag so was only using this one to carry toiletry bag and some items for plane like jacket, IPad,etc. It was stiff and bulky to carry around airport. Not what I was looking for, really wish I could return.

I bought this to hold our baby stuff on flights as well as daily outings. It has proven very useful, lightweight, easy to transport, and has great utility. We have used it on one flight and it fights easily under the seat, with easy top zipper access when we need it.

I have also used it often on daily trips to the beach, pool, and picnics and it works exceptionally well for these situations.

I use this as much for daily work (I’m ops not crew) as traveling. Extremely durable and replaced my backpack with ease. I love that just by removing the strap it goes from work bag to best suitcase companion ever.

As a flight attendant I carry a few extra supplies as part of my “purse”. This bag with a purse organizer inside is perfect for everything I need to carry in place of a purse. It’s the perfect size. I also love that it is light weight as a bag.

Some bags are heavy before putting anything into them and this bag weighs very little empty. I love that it connects to my suitcase. I am very happy with my purchase.

I have the previous multi-purpose tote from about 5 years ago. The top zipper is giving out. otherwise good quality. Actually, I liked my old tote better. I prefer the computer at the back of the tote and the pockets and zippers and open pockets are a bit more cumbersome on this new model.

I’m happy, but I was happier with the previous model of the same bag tote.

Absolutely love my dress! Color and pattern is beautiful. Bought it for a trip to Italy in August and am sure it will be perfect. Doesn’t wrinkle at all. Fit is perfect. I am 5’6″ and weigh 148. Dress is very flattering.

Wore it to work and received lot’s of compliments. Plan on wearing it to a beach party tomorrow night. So glad I found All For Color Game Day Dress in the UVA book store and was able to track them down online.

Love the items I ordered. The tote bag is super useful with pockets and space. Great for any outing. The luggage tag is awesome for keeping track of luggage that all looks the same. Great quality!

The colors are beautiful! The fabric is substantial! Sometimes if fabric is too thin it shows every lump and bump. not so with this fabric. It hides flaws well. I liked it so much that as soon as I tried it on I went online and bought 2 more in different colors!.

This bag was a surprisingly helpful item that I used for my personal item for my weekend flight. I used American Airlines, and the bag fit easily in the space designated under the seat in front of me.

The space in the bag allowed me to fit my crossbody purse, Nintendo switch, kindle, medium water bottle, glasses case. 2-3 snacks, chargers, passport, etc. all while being able to be zipped closed and it was incredibly helpful to keep all my essentials with me.

The zipper closes everything in to be more compact. The pockets were a pleasant surprise as they were plentiful. There is a small pocket in the front that fits your passport and boarding passes if placed vertically.

There is a pocket on that piece that slides over a suitcase handle. That pocket is nice and can fit a boarding pass horizontally. There is also a pocket on the left side that allows for a drink smaller than my water bottle.

The inside has two small pockets near the front for smaller items, like a phone, and the pockets toward the back are spacious and I fit chargers in there. The quality of the material feels durable and well made.

I can easily carry this bag over my shoulder even with all my items inside. The material attracts animal fur and some dust and lint, but nothing major.

I purchased the large weekender that opens like a suitcase. It stores alot of clothes I actually used for the weekend. Glad I have it. The only thing I don’t care for is. no wheels. The bag can get heavy to carry & schlep through the airport.

Other than that, it holds alot.

This tote had promise but didn’t live up to Travelpro standards. The handles were flimsy. (I was replacing a similar tote from a different manufacturer because the handles gave out prematurely. ) The top zipper did not enclose the entire bag, thus any pick pocket could easily slide a hand down the very capacious opening at either end of the bag.

Very BAD design! It was returned.

We live in NJ and every weekend we drive and hour to the jersey shore. The one thing my husband complains about every single weekend is that “none of our bags are helpful. ” They are either nor large enough for towels, they do not have a zip closure, they are not quality, and no organization.

THEN THIS BABY ARRIVED!! Hit the jackpot-perfect for the beach! I haven’t used it yet, but it looks fabulous in that it is well structured/ good quality, large enough for 2 towels and more, zip closure & great origination.

This bag will replace 3 of our not so great beach bags. I love the candy colors that it comes in too.

Very pleased with this roomy tote and can picture it for many uses beyond the beach. I live near Hilton Head, SC and plan to take to the beach as well as farmer’s markets, but it could also be used as an overnight bag.

Having a zipper really adds to the security and function. I got in the black just to keep things classic and neutral but I really like the green and yellow. I love how flat it folds, too! Definitely will get lots of good use out of this good looking tote!.

This bag is such a great size for so many occasions! Fantastic quality and organization. This does not feel like other canvas bags I own. Glad I came across this one! I bought myself the grey and it is beautiful and neutral.

They do not mention cleaning on air but on the Shorebags site they recommend to spot clean. Just good info for others that were wondering. I bought 2. One for myself and for a gift!.

After only 9 days of use, seams are already fraying, which adds to the aesthetic but I worry about the longevity of this bag if it’s frayed this much on the outside already. Random frayed strings on the inside bottom kept getting caught on items, which was frustrating.

Front pocket is basically useless, as the opening is too large to keep content secure. The adjustment device on the purse strap plus the fabric attached to it are so large that they dig into your skin when you have the purse strap on you.

The spacing between the strap’s attachment to the purse is so close that only Twiggy and Calista Flockhart could wear this purse cross-body. Which would be fine, if it didn’t slide off of your shoulder when wearing it one-shoulder-only.

The clips used on the purse strap had major wear/rubbing on them after only 9 days. Instead of being black, there were rusty brown grooves on the clips form the D-rings rubbing on them. Overall, extremely disappointed in this purse.

It kept popping on my socials and I was excited to buy it. Now, it’ll collect dust in my closet, as I tossed the packaging to return it when I received the item because it initially looked so awesome and I figured there was no way I’d ever need to return it.

So this actually happened. A co-worker who is part of the LGBTQ+ community recently started bringing in Chick-fil-A. That franchise’s troubled history with LGBTQ+ rights is by now so well known it’s become a meme.

She brought in breakfast for 3 of us one Saturday and made a joke that I was covered as a straight person for feeling guilty because someone in the community bought it for me. Working a Saturday was miserable, and even though, I had (as a joke again) recently received a “certified ally” card, which I took seriously, I ate it anyway.

A few days later, having not had food from this place in years, actually started to crave the stuff again. I don’t know, I was hungry, Biden was president now, and I thought, everything would be fine, and went ahead and ordered some.

The next day, I felt so guilty I confessed on Facebook, and my certified ally card was revoked. Buying this bag was my penance for eating that food. The bag, it turns out, is fantastic. It looks great, the deep pockets allows you to pack a lot into it, and it’s light and easy to carry.

I am now awaiting judgement on regaining by ally card. Hope springs eternal.

Love this bag. Always searching fir perfect bag. Love the size and -width- of this bag. Able to carry my camera and extra lens. Missing one more small pocket, but a great bag.

I’ve had mine for a few years now. VERY DURABLE. The best thing about this spinner tote is that you don’t have to worry about being able to bring the bag on the plane. If overhead space is limited, it fits under the seat.

So, it works internationally as a carry-on. It’s rugged enough that my 5-year old grandson can ride on it through the airport without putting an extra strain on me since it’s a spinner and not roller bag.

I liked it so much that I bought one for my mother. The only “down side” is that the case is difficult to open fully. I understand that this bag is more for business and you can just reach in to get your laptop easily, but that and similar tasks can be a knuckle buster.

Love this bag, fits my tablet easy and headphones and other personal items while it goes right under the seat!. While I still have room for extra clothes or sweater. I have the spinner too and it goes great together and have more then enough clothes for a week.

One is a carry on ( spinner) and this one is my personal bag. No need to check bag. Lots of room inside for tickets, ID and phone and charger. I have found it to be just my perfect go to bag to travel with.

The first time I used this product for a trip, the top zippered portion ripped. The rip grew quickly. I had several trips back to back, so o didn’t have time to contact TravelPro for a replacement. We’ve been longtime users of TravelPro luggage (four of our family members are in the flight industry), and while the luggage is pricy compared to other brands, I’ve always gone with your brand because I trust the brand and its durability.

Unfortunately, this has eroded my trust somewhat, and it made my travel over the last few months inconvenient because of the growing rip on the fabric on the top.

I found this product because I was looking for a vegan work tote that could hold my laptop, and this bag does that and so much more! I originally ordered it in taupe, but I thought the color looked more tan when it arrived.

I didn’t like the tan color, so I ordered another in black and gifted the taupe to a friend for her graduation. The only drawbacks to this bag are that the seam for the laptop sleeve unraveled after a short time and I had to repair it, and the water bottle pocket is a little weird.

I use the latter to carry my sunglasses case instead. I had emailed The Vegan Warehouse about my issue of the seam unraveling after only having the tote for about 3-4 months, and even though it was outside of my order window, they still went above and beyond to do what they could to make sure I was happy with my order and gave me store credit either to get a replacement or to find something else through the site.

Overall I ended up happy with both my order and the customer service, and I got to try some other amazing products that I’ve reviewed as well!.

I loved my Taupe Paloma so much, I ordered another one in Black. I just used it for a short trip where I needed to keep paperwork and several medications with me. The organization is perfect! Some bags have so many pockets and sections, that you can’t remember what you put where.

This bag has just the right amount of organization. There’s even a special soft-lined, insulated water bottle pocket! But, my favorite part of the bag is the zipped “trolley” strap on the back. You just unzip the bottom and it slides over your luggage.

Otherwise, you keep it zipped and it’s a great outside pocket!! Just a beautiful bag!.

I bought this tote in the cute taupe color and I have been using it for only a week but I know it’s going to be the one bag I use over and over again. I’m a big bag gal so I love the size for my day to day but for others, it may be a little too much for every day.

BUT you also have the option to bring it with you on vacation. It has so many pockets and convenient little features like the key chain that holds small things, the waterbottle slot and the big pocket on the back that you can use for luggage.

I’ve never been so organized in my life!!! Recommended x100!!.

I loved the look of this bag, and it is a great size. however, I regret this purchase. After using it only 5 times the foam underside of the padded shoulder strap ripped and now looks incredibly cheap.

The length of the strap is adjustable but when you make it very short the padded part sits too far forward so it becomes useless. Also, not sure why but EVERYTHING clings to this bag — dog fur, hair, you name it, and it shows up very starkly on the navy bottom.

Really sad about this bag, was pretty expensive and I thought it would be a good long-term investment but I don’t think it’s worth the price.

This is the third bag I have ordered and have had monogrammed. The product is well made and attractive and perfect size for a weekend getaway. My first one I ordered years ago and has held up very well.

OMG, this is it! If you are looking for a nice looking, practical, inexpensive bag for a male; this is it! I bought this for our son-in-law that is in corporate law–travels every week and in airports on planes daily—this is PERFECT.

The size is good, the style is wonderful and it looks super expensive!!! I scored as best mother-in-law among his friends! BUY IT!.

While I like the basic idea and function of this bag, the execution can use some refining. The material holds wrinkles after bag is unpacked and looks cheap and shoddy. Shoulder/carry straps are too thin and uncomfortable to carry.

Outer stuff pocket sags even when bag is barnd new. Overall just not happy with the “feel” of this bag but hope REI can come up with a better quality one in the future.

I bought one of these in the bright red “fire” color at our local Orvis for fishing and sailing. The Labor Day Sale was going on—so I went back the next day, and bought several in different color-schemes.

and now my Christmas shopping is about done. Why? Because these totes are so attractive, roomy, and superior to all others that anyone—family, friends, co-workers, you name it—needs one or more of them too!.

This bag is really nice, I hesitated to purchase, as I was concerned it may not fit under an airplane seat. After a phone call to an Orvis store, I was reassured. I just made my trip, and there was no problem whatsoever fitting it under the seat, even on the small plane.

In addition, on the back of the bag, there is a sleeve which slips over your suitcase handle. The bad just sits on top , and doesn’t wobble around, which makes it very easy to maneuver through the airport.

Im very pleased with my purchase.

Maritime blue is a great navy that is incredibly durable and elegant. Wishing for another company’s statement never full bag? Get the lightweight tote instead. Laptop, 3 yeti 24oz bottles, coffee tumbler, Rothy’s clutch (which I use as a wallet/interior “pocket”) purse organizer, glasses case, jacket, pashmina, son’s baseball glove and there was still space and comfortable to carry.

The lanyard is clutch. Wish there was one quick pocket on the side for mobile phone, a magnetic closure at the top and removable bottom (maybe V2?) – I would pay up to $225/bag that includes those 3 added features with no other changes.

Love the longer narrowed design. Washable like all other Rothy’s shoes. Receivesd loads of compliments at a conference I attended. It has survived baseball, softball, shopping, work and dinner out along with under the seat on tight aircraft.

I hemmed and hawed on it for months and wish I’d purchased sooner.

I am surprised at how long it took Rothy’s to lighten the weight of their bags. This one is wonderful (I’d prefer it even lighter weight). I was so happy to order it. However, I was shocked that it does not have the magnets to use with the Wristlet.

It also does not have the interior zipper pocket. It has NO pockets. why?? There is a key clip but Rothy’s missed the mark on this too. I bought the Light Poppy color, instead of having an awesome Rothy’s contrasting color, it’s brown.

?? brown?? Yes, brown. sigh. I do like the bag very much, but it is still way overpriced for what you are actually getting.

I used an Kate Spade gold saffiano wellsely for 12 years and it ripped. I decided to switch and try this Rothy’s tote and LOVE it. I have yet to fill it up, the bag is very spacious. The drop on the shoulder strap looked short but it’s very comfortable to carry.

It’s very durable, I spilled coffee with creamer on it and it just beaded off the exterior. All in all I’m very pleased! One wish, an interior zipper pocket. When traveling and the bag is in the front seat or floor propped up, if it falls over your contents spill out.

I bought this for travel, love the bright orange color! Love how light weight it is, but there are two main problems: (1) it has become very dirty in just the few months I’ve owned it, not clear how to clean it; I’m tempted to put it in the wash since even if that wrecks it, I’m no worse off than a bag that is too dirty to carry around, and (2) while the neoprene doesn’t feel especially rough to the touch, as it rubs against my right hip while walking, it has been destroying the fabrics of the clothes, my rain coat for example is now all rubbed and nubby in that area.

I’ve never had this problem with a bag before, but I think the little holes in the neoprene must create a rough surface.

I can’t say enough about this tote! It is the perfect tote to carry everything but the kitchen sink. If you like big bags like me, you will love this. The color is beautiful and I get compliments every time I use it.

The straps are comfortable on the shoulder and don’t fall off. I like that market tote look, so I use it unbuttoned. But, for someone that likes a sleeker look, buttoned is the way to go. All in all, you can’t beat the versatility and price point!!!.
