20 Best Travel Kennel For Dogs (2023 Updated)

Dog crates this size are very cumbersome, but the wheels, double handles and hand grooves make it so much more manageable! The last time we flew, his crate had only one handle, in the middle of the roof, so when he was picked up, all the weight shifted to one side and the crate tipped over.

I bought this crate so my doberman could fly to Alaska with me. I travel alone, so dealing with heavy luggage is nearly too much for me to handle, adding a huge kennel and a curious dog makes it impossible.

But, this trip went better than expected, because I could stack my luggage on top of the kennel and wheel it around! It was plenty sturdy to support the weight of suitcases. It was simple to slide the wheels off, when it was time to crate my dog and turn him over to TSA.

Also, it was easy to initially put together and then break down again for storage. And, as an added bonus, it comes with two bowls, that clip to the door. We don’t use the bowls, but it is a TSA requirement, so it’s awesome to not have to spend additional money to buy them separately.

We have two GSD that were destroying their metal crates and having constant accidents in them. These kennels provide just enough room for comfort and are airline approved. Theyre easy to roll around, making that adjustment period easier for cleaning.

Now, we dont have the problems anymore with destroying the kennel or having accidents, which are virtually nonexistent now. Great product; so glad we FINALLY got them!.

This is quality with a lot of features and easy to assemble. I bought for my kitty to drive cross country to have room for litter and bed. It will be great. Love the wheel option.

As a dog trainer for over 20 years, my preferred created has always been the Pet Porters. Until a few years back when they changed the design. At that point, they seemed to put all the money into looks and very little into the durability of the doors.

I use pet porters to potty train from an early age and the doors on the smaller models seems to work just fine. I’ve never had a problem with them. I get to the XL size and they literally fall apart just trying to open them.

I recently took a dog to KK with me with a brand new pet porter and was gone for maybe 5 hours. He was out and the door was broken when I returned. They sent me an article on how to train my dog. This is a dog that is just fine in a wire crate all day, but I had recently bought 3 new pet porters to replace very old ones that were falling apart.

All three no longer have doors. In less than a week. But again, these dogs can be put in wire crates and do not escape. It’s not the dog, it’s the cheap construction of the door. I have replaced many doors just because I opened them and the bars fell out as I did so.

The turn lock doors never had these problems. I’ve sent many friends the link to replace doors instead of having to buy whole new crates because they have the same issues with the XL crate doors. Be aware these crate doors will not hold up.

Invest in something more durable if you have a larger dog.

I purchases two of these crates to fit into a small space with little headroom. They work well for that purpose. The interior size is fine for short confinement for 6 pounds and under. The plastic is very thin on this crate and feels like it will break or crack easily.

It has a basic door with spring latch. I have thought I latched it several times, only to be surprised by my pet being out and about. You can’t latch and go, you must double check, as it feels like it’s in the aligned holes but it is not.

I will call that user error, as I now double check which is just a good idea. Overall, I do not believe this crate will fit the size pet as advertised and I do not feel it is a secure travel crate.

This was very easy to put together and is a very good carrier for the price. As far as calling it a “kennel”, I thought those shopping would like to know that the door does not stay open without help.

Due to the shape of the door opening it swings shut eventually. If you are planning to gradually introduce your pets to this as a carrier you will have to find a way to keep the door open. This is not a big deal for us, but it seems to have been an assumption I wasn’t aware that I had about carriers/kennels until I got to experience using this one.

We pet sit for friends and they have similar looking kennels that their pets sleep in. The doors stay open while we are walking and playing with them and they can return to them independently. I did not deduct from the rating because I didn’t purchase this to serve as a pet kennel, just a carrier for vet visits.

But if I were needing to to serve as a regular nap/safe place this aspect would be frustrating. So be aware before you purchase for that function.

This kennel served its primary purpose perfectly–I was able to board my dog on an international flight without issue. A few extra nuts and bolts were included, which was great. A few things to note for other travelers: -The crate has metal bolts but plastic wingnuts.

You may need to replace them with metal nuts, depending on the airline. -This crate is too large for some domestic flights, according to the airline I used. This wasn’t a big problem for us, as we were able to fly directly from the nearest airport, but if you need to make a domestic connection I would check on that.

-The live animal stickers pictured are not included, but my airline provided the stickers free of charge. This might be another thing to ask about. For every day users, my husky mix was able to take the door off of this thing when the bolts weren’t 100% tightened down, so this might not be ideal for escape artists.

Make sure the bolts are tight so they can’t wiggle the door off. The plastic seems very sturdy, though. Overall, solid crate but could be better for the price.

I had to replace my dog’s crate, typed in the name of the previous crate I had been using and this one popped into the window. The door can be hung to open from the left or from the right. The door is opened by squeezing two metal tabs that compress springs.

Two metal bars fit into holes at the top and bottom of the door opening. The casing for the front of the lock is plastic, easily removable even from inside the crate and my dog was able to knock it off, and the door opened because nothing was now holding the metal bar/spring mechanism in place.

Wyatt is an escape artist who as a puppy, was able to open his first crate with his nose. The crate I replaced was Wyatt proof. I’m hoping Gorilla glue and some packing tape will keep the cover on the lock and the dog in the crate.

For how expensive this crate is, the manufacturer needs to do a redesign of that lock, because it is definitely not worth the price.

Did NOT come in a box. Held together with two cable ties. Big shipping labels are stuck all over the outside if it. They are not coming off easily. It was delivered it in a snow bank NOT near my front door.

It is scuffed and gouged in a few areas inside and out. I found two black pieces of plastic broken off inside of it. One of the holes edges where a bolt is supposed to go through had the entire edge crushed off.

I guess I expected MUCH better quality for what I paid. It’s not 40”. It barely has any more room than my old 36” that I am using for one of my other dogs right now. They look the same size sitting next to each other, but my old one is much sturdier.

IMO, if a dog wanted out, it would have no problem escaping it. Sorry- but this is an honest review.

I’ve had two of this exact model before (but blue) and enjoyed it, but I passed them to a rescue adoption family. (The kittens were trained with them so it seemed fitting). I automatically repurchased the same because they lasted 8 years already and still looked great.

They’re well built but the handle is on the top door, press fit onto the wire. Therefore it flexes with heavier pets. You can’t move the handle elsewhere because then it wouldn’t be central for carrying and then it doesn’t lay flat so they can’t be stacked well for storage & transit.

Lastly, the measurements are of the outer dimension. So if you look at the bubble-shape design in the photo, you can see the pet’s floor space is a little less than the overall outer dimension. That’s cozy for smaller pets and really helps it stay centered in a forward faced position (buckled-in) on car seat cushions.

Unfortunately, my 12 year old fat cat is too big to lay out and turn around in the size I got. I returned it with no problems and will switch to a carrier with more cubical or straight upright wall design so my pet can make use of more of the whole dimension it takes up.

These also have no quick releases, so when you put it together (top bolts onto bottom), it isn’t meant to be taken apart between trips. That’s okay for ready stored carriers, but I’d like to use one that makes an open bed when not on the move, and stacks tiny for storage otherwise.

This carrier is also not rated for air travel, if that’s what you need. However if none of these little issues apply to you, I can definitely recommend this as I had two for over 8 years and they still look pretty new.

They fit the cheap standard washable fuzzy beds from Menards and are very easy to clean & disinfect as well. (Don’t use bleach or alcohol on plastics. Use quaternary ammonium compounds for viruses and bacteria, or peroxide for pet parasites with cysts, like CDC says.

Bleach and alcohol can etch plastics, making them fragile or brittle, and making surfaces more receptive to harboring various pathogens over time).

I didn’t have any assembly issues (as others have expressed) but it wasn’t until the Carrier was fully assembled that I spotted the issue with the Top Door. And when I was using it for our cats, the issue became very apparent.

The problem is – the top door only opens just slightly past 90-degrees. a very poor design. Any bumping of the carrier while trying to put your pet into it can cause the top door to fall / close. Or, as you attempt to load your cat or dog into the carrier with their feet / legs flailing around, they can also easily hit the door and cause it to close before you get your pet inside.

So then you have to put your pet down and hold them with one hand, while you try to open the top door with your other hand. The whole idea of the top door is to make it easier to put your pet inside the carrier and this kennel does a poor job with that aspect.

Ideally, the door should open about 135 degrees so that it doesn’t accidentally close while loading your pet. Having a door that opens too far (say, 180 degrees) can be an issue too since you might need to close the door quickly to contain your pet.

but given the choice, I’d rather have it open all the way. The rest of the kennel seems fine, the latches seem secure and fairly easy to operate. But had I known about the top door issue, I would not have purchased this carrier.

I use this for my cat as a carrier and he loves it, it is nice and big so he doesn’t seem as cramped as his old one. In fact, I leave it out in the basement and it has become his “house” when he wants to rest or hide from the other cat.

If you’ve ever felt like a standard carrier was a bit too cramped for your cat this is a nice step up without being overly massive. I love how the top opens so it’s easy to get him in and out at the vet rather than shoving him into a tiny hole (or ripping the top off entirely).

The downsides of this is that the top is screw-on, which may or may not be a negative depending how you use it. My old carrier was snap-together which allowed me to tear it apart and nest the top inside the bottom for storage.

Since I’m leaving it out now that’s less of a problem for me. The other downside is that there’s no seatbelt hook of any kind. You can have the seatbelt go through the handle, or wrap the seatbelt all the way around the front, which is probably less secure in a major crash.

A small plastic notch in the top for a seatbelt would be a no-brainer. I had some trouble finding a good size crate mat. Based on the dimensions given, we started with one that was 18×12. It was simply too small and slid around the inside of the crate.

We got another one that was 22×13. 5 and it fits perfectly, nice and snug. All in all we’re happy with this. It’s very well made, with the exception of the seatbelt hook well thought-out as well.

I work with many new dog owners and dogs and have a lot of experience with crates, as we use crate training with all puppies. I ordered this crate for a new puppy back in July. I was so excited to receive this crate as I loved the design, the special add-on Lollipop crate trainer, allowing me to insert the lollipop type of toy (Filled with a yummy treat like peanut butter) through the crate door, which makes the crate more fun for the dogs.

I have tested almost every crate on the market over time and this one seemed to take a new approach to the aesthetic appearances of dog crates. The features seemed well designed and I could not wait to get my crate.

Setup was easy and while I absolutely love some of the features of this crate, the door latch will not lock on the first try and I have to wiggle the door several times to get the door to actually latch.

This has caused issues as any other person trying to secure the dog in the crate, closed the door thinking it is locked when it has not latched into place, causing the puppy to start roaming free while unattended.

I truly always support new companies with innovative designs and while the price tag was steep, the featured seemed worth it (if they work as they should). In this case, I think Diggs should go back to the drawing board and re-design their locking mechanism on the front door and on the top section of the crate to ensure that it works consistently on the first try.

The dog’s safety must be a priority and if the crate won’t lock properly, it is not meeting the basic function of a crate. I tried to call their customer service number and I was told I should call back during their normal business hours, even though I did call during their posted “normal” business hours.

Revol is by far the best option I have found for a good quality large sized crate for longterm use. I have a 4 month old crate trained lab/golden mix who immediatly ran into this crate when we set it up.

We don’t use the puppy divider and havent used the side door just yet. I love that the main front door is SO large, not a small cutout that the dog has to head duck to use. Although it still makes some noise, this crate (even without a crate mat inside) is much quieter overall when my dog moves around inside compared to the normal Metal crates.

The door latch works easily, I do check that the pins at top and bottom have properly engaged when the door is shut, but I would do this with any crate! The metal mesh sides are well coated with no rough edges.

The plastic itself is good quality smooth beefy plastic that should withstand most puppy chewing! I ordered a crate cover from chewy that fits well (a bit big) it opens on 2 sides and all this combined makes for a very homey experience inside! The crate is large enough that I have no concerns my dog will ever outgrow it.

Although the crate is expensive, it is well worth the price and wish I had bought it first originally!! I have a snooze pad but havent used it yet as my pup generally prefers the cool plastic floor with a small blanket and snuggle puppy.

It would be nice if you could change the front door opening, as it is designed it only open to the left so check your space! Note, the crate is large, transporting when collapsed is feasible but not overly easy!.

The Revol dog crate is really pretty and good looking. I love the pull out tray, the garage door style opening and the back wheels for easy relocation. I however did not like that under the pull out tray are holes and not a solid piece, so when my puppy had diarrhea it was underneath the pull out tray and all over my wood floor! This is also horrible for hair buildup, I thought everything was nice and neat until the diarrhea accident when I also found piles of hairs in the hard to reach crevices and grooves.

I took out all that I could and would like to know if I can hose this down but not sure since the metal is actually silver plastic! I also do not like that the garage style door seems like it will break every time I open it to put my puppy in, it doesn’t feel sturdy in that area at all.

The last thing I do not like is that the puppy divider can not be used in conjunction with the snooz pad and the pull out tray is SO LOUD! My puppy just standing and moving sounds like claws on a chalkboard! Oh sorry, one more thing, speaking of the snooz pad, it is so delicate to wash.

This should be something I can throw in the wash and dry like normal since it’s something for dogs and might need to be washed um I don’t know…often! The instructions say to turn inside out and wash on gentle and do not dry it… this causes all the the hairs to stick everywhere (the under side is a felt like material) so gross! I’m so tempted to wash it as normal, but it was really expensive.

Overall, nice concept with several flaws. I don’t think it was worth the high price. But it is really pretty!.

My GSD pup is crate trained. I purchased my first PetMate plastic crate in 2004 and never had an issue. When my GSD got too big for his wire kennel, I upgraded the size and got a PetMate Ultra (for its airline approved status).

For three solid nights and any day time crate use highly distressed my dog. No one in the house slept. He was quite agitated (barking, clawing at the crate bottom, etc). He could not sleep or lay down in the crate.

On the fourth night, I put him in the crate with the same result. Ten minutes later, I took out the old 2004 crate (flat bottom, no injection mold markers) and popped him in it. He sat down and gave the biggest sigh.

I finally understood he had been in distress because of the new crate. On inspection, I discovered these round things under the bottom, pressed into them with my forearms and immediately felt the pressure points/pain.

Who thought this design was a good idea? Did PetMate even try it? I beg designers to sit in it, lie down in it, press their forearms on to these circle things. Question your motives. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a cheap excuse and terrible quality.

I’ll be cross-posting this comment on multiple pet store sites. I’m so unimpressed with this design. The incredible distress my dog endured because of shoddy design is unacceptable. PetMate needs to do better for the pets you aim to help.

PetMax shouldn’t sell this product; they should ensure the pets they serve do not experience stress or injury.

I needed to take my dog to Europe via plane and he is too big to fit under a seat, so he had to travel cargo. I was really worried about him being separated from us, so I put some blankets in the bottom of the crate, with the lid and door off, and got him used to the crate by feeding him in it and using it in place of his normal dog bed.

This seemed to really do the trick as he was comfortable in it before we dropped him at cargo checkin and seemed to regard it as his den. Good construction for the price and was accepted by Lufthansa no problem.

Chewy ships super fast which was great too. NB: if shipping a pet overseas start researching requirements at least 6 months in advance as all countries have different requirements. Check the USDA site to see what those are.

I assembled following the directions and the door doesn’t close. The door latch, or pin doesn’t retract far enough when the dial is turned to the open position and won’t allow the door to close properly.

If forced, it will close, but the latch then hits the nut beside the door used to keep the top and bottom of the crate connected. And the top pin doesn’t seat properly in the hole on the top of the crate requiring you either bend the door or stretch the plastic.

Then, good luck getting it open. Also requires two hands to unlock the dial latch while turning simultaneously. What was wrong with the old pinch from the top/bottom style door latch? Poor design, pieces are manufactured separately and don’t fit together when shipped.

Terrible.

Very nice crate. Seems well made. After reading reviews, I chose the XL crate even if the size suggested for my puppies adult weight would have been the Large size. However, even the XL will not be big enough when he is full grown.

I know this because I have two full grown dogs of the same breed ( Standard Poodles) and it’s too small for them.

Our new hound arrived 2 mo ago from a rescue group in Mobile, AL. We started him in a large hard-sided crate for ‘security’ but he quickly settled into sleeping and being confined when we left for errand running.

He often investigated his sister’s large soft-sided crate and would settle there for a nap so he seemed ready for his own. So now we have two of these is our bedroom. Tess’ door flap has been left open for over a year – she prefers her crate to sharing the bed with us.

Enzo’s still confined by the flap as he’s pretty mischievous. Each dog was sized up a size for their weight 42 & 52 lbs as they alternate between being curled up and stretched out when they sleep. The crates are easy to vacuum out toe dog hair and come with a nice fleece covered mat that is a washable cover over an encased foam.

The case is also removable by zippered closure. Really nice!.

So, bought this after our Lab ate her furniture style wooden crate from the inside out. First month was terrific. All was well until she found the zipper on the long side. She happily shredded the zipper and stitching holding it to the canvas.

Now I have turned crate on its side so shredded section is now the floor and keep zippers high and out of her sight. So, if your dog is part beaver as ours seems to be, always keep the zippers up top and out of line of sight.

The good is that it very light, folds easily and and Tante Rosie, our beaver/lab seems to really like it. happily goes inside regardless of time of day. And most important, even the lovey bride, who is not a dog person, seems to like it!.

We are using this as our pup’s main crate when we are at home. We have a 5 month old Vizsla who will probably top out at around 55-60lbs, but wanted a good amount of room so he could stretch out during the day when we aren’t able to be home with him.

(Purchased the largest model. ) The crate looks nicer than the metal cages, in my opinion, so we don’t mind having it sit in our informal living room. He can fully spread out and stand up comfortably.

So far so good, though he has managed to start chewing the bedding a bit. Owner’s error though, he’s a puppy still and I shouldn’t have assumed he could handle that bedding yet. For the time being we’ll continue to use fleece blankets as his bedding and upgrade him once he’s through the teething phase.

I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a sharp-looking alternative to a metal caged at home crate!.

I bought this XL crate to fly our 49 lb Aussie from Los Angeles to Newark so he would have plenty of room during the flight. The wheels are a HUGE selling point as this made it easy for us to wheel him beside us and our luggage while we were in line.

Once TSA cleared the crate, they asked us to remove the wheels and take them with us-as their pet belt could not handle those safely. So-in the purse they went. LOVE that we could easily remove them.

Otherwise we would have had to purchase one of their less sturdy crates for travel. The crate is sturdy and kept him safe for the entire flight. In fact, the only reason I took 1 * off was that the 2 handles on the top come out easily and unfortunately we lost one somehow during his loading, flight and unloading.

Would certainly recommend this crate for fellow dog lovers traveling with their fur kids.

I have both medium and large of this crate. The large is more of a medium sized crate which is good for my younger dogs under 1 year. But it doesn’t fit my older dogs that are full grown where other “large” crates of other brands fit my older dogs great.

Also the doors come off super easy which sucks for a dog that might push on the door. Multiple times I’ve had my dogs escape these crates and they aren’t hard on crates as they don’t escape other similar crates with better doors with longer tines that sit in the holes.

This is a high quality cat carrier, but there is one thing that I wish was designed differently, otherwise I would have given 5 stars. If you’re dealing with a stronger and more difficult feral cat, then you would stand the carrier up on its end (side facing up so that it’s “deeper”) and put him in head first (because it’s safer and easier and he can’t grab on to the sides as easily as he would from the top entrance).

But the back side of the carrier doesn’t sit flush when you stand it upright on its end unless you lean it against a wall and steady it with a leg. Other than that I find the top door very convenient to retrieve the cat, or to put a calmer, more docile cat in from the top.

It’s easy and simple to assemble, durable, and good quality. I’m happy with it, other than one design element that I think could be improved (making the back a flush, flat surface).

I had another crate made by another company that no longer makes soft-sided crates, only tough toys and rugs. Not certain why they no longer make them as the one I have is 30 years old (has housed 3 different dogs over those years) and still going strong.

Anyway, I have my old one as a back up but decided a new one (actually 2) would probably be appreciated as we get two new Sheltie puppies. The other reviews of this Doggoods crate were excellent. We ordered one for our first new pup and have been extremely impressed as we get started with our 6-month old Sheltie.

The crate assembles in 2-minutes tops, and the fabric is super thick and durable. As with ANY dog, YOU HAVE TO monitor the dog in the crate, and some puppies may actually need a hard-shell crate for up to a year to outgrow their chewing, but this crate will serve our new pup well.

Another pup is coming soon and we went ahead and ordered a second crate. I have a very positive feeling these crates are going to hold up for another 30 years! I highly recommend this crate – perhaps with just a towel or a blanket to start as the inner pad is pretty flimsy (& appeared to our pup to be like a chew toy) but there are some great washable pads out there on the internet made of tough fabric (similar to the tough fabric this Doggoods crate is made of) that are available through another company that can be ordered to fit these crates.

Not sure if I should share the name of the pad company but the guy who owns it is a veteran. If you’re looking for a solid soft-sided crate, this is the one!.

I love it! Zoey & Zephyr love it! I purchased the XL to fit 2 Standard Poodle puppies for their inside the home FORTRESS. It is attractive and love the 2 sided zipper openings. Too bad one of the inside plastic roof side tubes snapped off the end that clamps into the other top plastic tube as I attempted to open it up and attach it.

I probably used too much force when maneuvering the side roof plastic tube to its place; nevertheless it snapped at a vulnerable end and that demonstrates it is not sturdy enough. Despite the broken side tube it still is usable as the other 3 tubes keep the roof up.

I love it enough to keep it for indoor use as is with 1 out of 4 broken roof support plastic tubes. The puppies play in it and seem to enjoy it. They do not show interest in chewing it. If you purchase, be gentle and cautious with unfolding the roof plastic tube structures into place.

Fabulous overall experience. Product was received in a timely manner, well packed, and the product itself is the best! There are too many junky soft-sided crates on the market. This one is sturdy, putting it together is a snap, and the pad inside can be replaced with all kinds of options when needed.

We generally replace a pad on the inside about once a year just to keep them fresh. Our dogs actually like the blue ‘cooling’pads more than big fluffy pads anyway, but they are Shelties with a lot of hair.

The crate itself is just superior and I have just ordered a second one for another pup arriving soon. Really, I can’t say enough good things about this crate. If your pup is a chewer you might consider a hard crate temporarily till they move out of the chewing phase but there isn’t much to chew on in these crates anyway as the canvas outer shell is very tight doesn’t give much leeway to chew.

And our current 6 month old Sheltie goes in to the crate to lay down completely on his own – it’s his own little abode and he is content.

I wanted a carrier that could fit my two small dogs each of them are about 12lbs! Im flying alone so I can only bring one carrier on the flight and this was perfect!! I got the large size and they fit great and are so comfy! They weren’t ready to get out! This is honestly the only carrier I could find with decent dimensions to make sure my dogs would be comfortable! And I love that I can wear it as a backpack and pull it like a suitcase! Makes traveling with them so fun!.

This bag is great! Would have given it 5 stars if the wheels were more sturdy and larger. Wheels are tiny and more on the plastic side than sturdy side. We use this bag everyday. I would prefer if the wheels used on the shoes Wheelies were used for this bag, it would have been a perfect 5 star review! If this wheel is rolled or used over concrete too much, these wheels will probably crack.

Love the “idea”. hate the actual experience. My 6 month old miniature poodle is tall, but only weighs 17. 5lbs, so I bought the Large since she will gain another 5lbs. She is heavy to carry when out shopping/running errands, and I do not want to put her inside grocery carts, so I bought this so I could just pull her along.

She does not like sitting up in it (which she does fit nicely) because it TILTS her backwards as you drag it along. and so this forces her to lay down into a tight ball due to the length of her legs.

As a car seat, it would work though because then you would just lay it down on the seat the lengthwise. As a backpack, it would work too. but that is not something that I wanted to use it for because I already know that I’d have problems due to her weight (and her flopping around) getting her on and off my back by myself.

There is a loop/buckle INSIDE the middle front mesh for keeping the upper half of the mesh rolled down. but if you have a younger dog who still likes to chew. they will get to chewing on that thing right away.

it should have been put on the outside where a dog cannot mess with it. The last problem. which is the BIGGEST problem of all, is that if she does not sit directly “on center”, but instead, is moving around or rubber necking left to right, she tips the entire thing over on to one side or the other.

even while I am walking with it. This means that I have to struggle to keep her from tipping it over while in use. If I stop walking and put her in a totally upright position, she is ALSO able to tip it backwards or frontwards too just by leaning on it! So I have to have an extra heavy hand on the handle on all times to prevent this.

This is designed exactly like a piece of carry on luggage except for the see through netting. Luggage would not have live animals in it, but instead, is full of tightly packed inanimate objects that do not move or shift around at will.

unlike a dog/cat does. So because of the easy tip over problem, I am sending it back. My thought is that this design is best suited for a VERY light weight pooch. maybe less than 7lbs because they will then have plenty of room to lay down while being dragged w/o having to be curled up in a ball especially when it is hot outside, and also, will be less likely to tip it over when leaning on the sides.

or the front. or the back. I guess I will have to resort to buying a four wheel stroller and putting up with people looking at me like I am some kind of dog nut/worshiper who acts they have an actual “human baby” lol!.

This crate tucks in nicely by the bed. I had to twist the crate to get it to fit, but since it is soft sided, it was easy to do. I have 2 long haired miniature dachshunds, and they both have plenty of room and are really happy to have their blankets and sleeping space.

The crate is well made and is perfect for my needs. I looked at a number of options and could not find another crate as narrow as this one. The metal door is easy to close and I was able to flip it so the door opened the direction I needed.

The only negative is with the limited space, the opening radius of the door is fairly limited. Both my dogs can easily fit, but depending on the space in your unit, a larger dog might have troubles fitting through the door.

(Again, this limitation is based on the narrow width I have available in my unit. ) So happy with the purchase-perfect for the trailer. The dogs give it 4 paws up.

I only rated this at a 3 due to it being an awkward shape. I loved the construction, design and the overall weight of the crate. It is the correct length for a 36 inch crate but it is only 25 inches tall.

If it was the standard size as a 36 inch crate it would have been perfect. I would also be interested in a larger version if they decided to come out with an XL version. The clasps on the sides are a little difficult to manage and think that could be worked on some as well.

A shoulder strap to easily carry it would be great to keep hands free.

This works perfectly for when I have my pup at the office with me. I’m sure my pup could tear it up if he wanted to. I wouldn’t leave him a long in it for long periods of time. I just use it to give him a place to chill or when I need to contain him while I’m still close by, so that’s not really a concern.

It folds down so easily and tucks out of the way. Perfect for my purposes.

I love my new pet carrier my three kittens fit inside just perfectly they are about 12 weeks old and they fit comfortably all three of them and it isn’t that heavy it has a carry strap as well as the handles.

It also has poles inside that you fit together (very simple) which makes this carrier a lot more sturdier when sitting on its own on the floor. There are two bags that hang on the side as well for toys or a bowl if you like or a leash.

And I figured out there is a hanging strap inside which can also be used to hook on your pet as a short leash which keeps them connected to the carrier it only bout 12in long. If this strap serves any other purpose can someone else put that in the review because I couldn’t figure out any other reason this would be here.

The carrier also folds and collapses into a flat easier item to store. Easy to clean material.

Making time to share what I learned — this is the BEST of many products I’ve purchased for my pup. Amazing value! Would pay 3x the price. Didn’t want a wire crate; puppy paws can get caught. Sturdy, light, collapsible, has a “sunroof” that makes it easy to place your puppy in or take her/him out of the crate is next to your bed (recommend).

Got a too big size (for now) but easy to place a pillow or similar inside to divide and size for a small pup. Love the easy carry handles on the sides and the strap so you can (also) pull it. Comes with a soft pad so it’s ready to use on arrival.

Wonderful, multi-functional product.

We bought this and had it sent to my parents house so we didn’t have to bring a crate with us. 2 nights in and its been a disaster. Doesn’t have any clips to secure zippers in place like most soft sided crates do.

Has a strap hanging IN the crate for no discernible reason. We had to tie tuck it away because he started chewing at the plastic end of the strap. Our 12lb puppy has broken out of it 3x now. On the third break out, he managed to break the zipper entirely off, so now it’s not even usable.

To repeat hes a 12lb puppy. The crate should be able to withstand anything he can throw at it.

I’ve had large Petmate carriers for my cat(s) for over 10 years. They’ve worn like iron and are still going. Have tried other brands and always returned them because the top opening always need two hands to open/close.

The design of this one, with the strap across the top which connects the two zippers, means I can open and close with one hand so I can hang onto the cat with the other. Need the extra security since I’ve begun taking my little heathens to our county SPCA outdoor shot clinics (1/5th the price of my vet).

With the addition of a new, young feral, needed another carrier. Bought the medium last week which worked like a champ today at the shot clinic. Vet tech pulled back the zippers, held the kitty in place, give her the injections and oral meds, and zipped the carrier closed in a total time of 30 seconds.

He commented on how convenient this carrier is compared to most. I agree. Price is fair and quality is really good. Expect this one to last as long as my others have.

The carrier has a sipper opening at the front, pictured, and also across the top. I leave it out and my cats lay in them like cat beds. This makes it far less traumatic when it’s time to go to the vet.

They don’t associate getting in the carrier only with the experience of going to the vet. My one issue with the carrier is I’m concerned my cats could manage to open the top zipper. The top zips closed around the top panel by a zipper on each side connected by a handle.

Then there’s a velcro flap you fold around the handle, and this secures the zipper so the cat can’t force it open. My cats have not been able to get it to budge so far, so maybe I’m just worrying for no reason.

I’m buying a second one because I have two cats and my 12-year-old cat carrier finally gave out.

My dogs are trained to behave in soft crates and not chew on it or scratch it up. I have used several different kinds of soft crates at dog obedience and agility trials and classes for nearly 20 years, and never had one tear.

Until today. The mesh on this Jespet 3-door crate is so flimsy that my dog made a hole in it 10 minutes into using it for the first time, just by putting his paws against the mesh. The solid parts of the crate are well made and sturdy, but all the mesh panels are made from material that is much thinner than the five other mesh crates (from three other brands) that I own and have used for years.

The zippers are a little more flimsy also, but the main problem is the mesh material. It is thin and soft, without the rubberized coating that is on other soft crates that makes the panels more sturdy.

This mesh is easily torn because the threads are small and thin. Other than that, it would’ve been a nice crate. The steel frame is thinner than my other 36″ crate, which makes this one much lighter and easier to lug around at shows, which is why I bought it.

The crate is easy to pop up and take down. It would’ve been a good crate except that the cheap mesh makes it useless. I guess that’s why the price was so good – you get what you pay for. If you’re thinking about buying a soft crate, try a different brand for something more sturdy.

I purchased this in the 36 inch size for my beagle, just in case I need to have an emergency temporary set up for him somewhere. I have a bulky steel kennel the same size, but this is so much lighter and easier to haul around.

Very easy set up on this, also, easy to collapse and fold. My dog’s on the larger size of medium and weighs 39 pounds. He has a good deal of room to lie down and turn around in addition to standing. I’m a little concerned he might try to rip the screens, but he won’t be anywhere where I’m not when he’s in this, so, I think it will work.

I’m going to keep this in the trunk of my car, just in case, and take the heavy kennel out.

I bought this crate so each of the our two dogs had a soft-sided crate for an upcoming stay in a rental. I just don’t like how flimsy the mesh is. I’m not sure if there is a brand with more durable panels.

I replaced the panel of the crate we already had myself because my dog tore holes in it by stretching against the door in the morning. I am not sure how long this one will last without mending with a tougher, screen door mesh.

The crate is the perfect length for my intention to use as a sleeping den for my dog. Upon opening it did smell strongly of plastic however I assumed it would dissipate. I assembled the crate and placed outside to let it air out.

After just over a week it still smells strongly of plastic especially on the inside. I put my head inside just to see how strong the smell would be for my dog and it was even stronger. Its no wonder so many reviews are of the pups chewing their way out because it must of been unbearable considering their sense of smell is so much better than ours.

I had to return it and continue searching for a crate.

This is exactly the size I needed for small dog for transporting in car on long trips. Plenty roomy and lots of side “ windows” for looking out. Fits perfectly in the car seat and and put the seat belt on to hold it.

The mesh opening makes it easy in and out. Fairly sturdy zipper closure. It folds flat and comes with a carry/ storage bag. The bottom is not super sturdy even with the included pad, but am able to carry our dog in it in and out of a hotel as she is a lightweight.

Prices are so much better at TSC than specialty pet stores!.

This is exactly what I was looking for! It’s roomy enough for my large Labrador (85lbs). He can comfortably lay down, turn around, and have plenty of head room when he sits up. It is light weight but feels solid when zipped together.

I love that it folds easy to go into a carrying case. And it was a nice bonus that it came with the little crate mat. Overall amazing product at an amazing price. I will be using this as my dog sport crate – it will be so much easier to pack around then the metal one I was using.

I bought 2 of these, one for each of my cats. It was easy to put together and lightweight. I first used them when my cats were 5-pound kittens. Today, they’re both around 13 pounds and I don’t have any issues with them fitting inside or with the carrier supporting their weight.

It is made of plastic, so it feels like it may not be that durable, but it is actually very durable. I’ve never had any issues with them. An added bonus is that they’re easy to clean! My cats, being the scared babies they were, both had accidents in their carriers on the car ride back from a vet appointment.

It was super gross, but the mess was contained inside until I was able to take them apart and thoroughly clean them.

Overall, I like this carrier. I like the height of the carrier because it allows my cats to sit up if they want to. It is also roomy enough to transport two good sized cats. The plastic is also sturdy.

The downside is the way the front door is attached. It has four turning brackets that hold the door in, so the door can be opened either to the left or the right. That is pretty handy. However, the brackets don’t always stay in place.

Therefore, the door falls off!! That has happened to me twice now!! Both times, I was in the middle of a busy parking lot!! That is not a good scenario when frightened cats are inside!! Thank God they didn’t escape!! Although I like the carrier, I am half-afraid to use it!!.

I realize these carriers are cheap. But the thickness of the plastic is very thin and would not hold a dog or cat very well, much less a rabbit or ??? The door cage constantly falls off- the plastic locks are not secure and fall off all the time.

One of the carriers I bought will not even hold the door shut anymore after just a few uses. I had to reverse the door so that the curve faces in to try and lock it. There are just design flaws and the manufacturer needs to redesign the door and how it keeps shut.

Those strap holders are so flimsy and the way they hook onto the carrier are a disaster in the making- the pieces will fall off fast and the animal will fall to the ground. I like the colors but I would not purchase the product again.

I am not returning them because it’s just too much trouble.
