20 Best Travel Blanket For Airplane (2023 Updated)

This is a bit on the pricey side for a smallish blanket, made in China, but I can’t deny that it’s a really nice blanket that fits a niche that you could probably fill with any old blanket but to varying degrees of convenience.

The thing about this blanket is that it’s just the right size for travelling, not too big and not too small. It’s also very lightweight without being useless, it has a good warmth for it for indoor use.

It’s made of a dense but thin fleece like material, nice and soft against the skin. The other nice unique thing about this blanket is that it has a built in little pocket for it to fold into and basically store itself in which is awesome.

I have to admit I’m struggling with trying to figure out the best way of actually folding the blanket into the built in pocket but I really appreciate the fact that it’s not a separate bag to lose while you’re using it.

Style wise I like that it’s got some flair but without being loud, is pretty gender neutral, but if I wanted to nitpick I’d like it better if it didn’t have the big NxTSTOP branding on it. All things considered I think it’s worth the price if you travel frequently and will make good use of it’s portability features and qualities.

I just received my travel ‘blanket’ and, although its nice, its not exactly what I was expecting. I like the colours and it is well made as far as I can tell, but its really more of a large scarf or shawl than what I’d describe as a blanket.

I haven’t actually measured it, but it is of a similar size to most of my pashminas and I’d say it weighs about the same too; maybe a little heavier. It sort of feels like flannel but its made from a 50/50 blend of cotton and polyester.

I think it will prove durable and will wash/dry well, but in my experience poly/cotton fabrics like this tend to pill. Time will tell, I guess, but so far so good.

This Travel Blanket is very thin and lightweight, very suitable for travel. The label says 50% cotton, 50% recycled and maybe that’s why it’s not as soft as a fleece blanket. I didn’t find it very warm and I think it will keep you warm on an airplane.

But it would be another story if you were stuck in traffic in a winter storm. I am happy when I have realistic expectations.

Lightweight and warm, this blanket is great for traveling. I use it on planes since it is rare to find a blanket onboard. Also great for car rides. I machine wash it in cold water.

Blue Hills advertises their products as being premium quality. That they are. The blanket appears to be a product that will last a long time. Although the teal colored blanket was advertised, I ordered the red one, just because it would be easier to spot on my linens shelf.

The concept of this product is a modestly sized blanket folded up in a fabric zipper bag. When in the bag, it functions as a neck pillow. just the right size for supporting the neck in an airplane seat.

When the blanket is unfolded, it will cover the whole body, but is not a thick type blanket, which would keep you warm in sub-freezing weather. The product is not particular useful for me personally, because I rarely travel by air and am always the driver when taking road trips.

No children at home now, but do have guests with children. It is perfect for keeping children warm in a house or car. It is ideal product for the parents of young children because it will easily fit in the side pockets of most car doors and can easily be unfolded to lay over a child in the back seat.

Then if they arrive at a home and the kids want to take a nap, the parent can easily put the blanket over them.

A nice, soft blanket which feels good against the skin but it is not very warm if the fan or air on.

The overall quality of this blanket. Excellent for monograming. Surprisingly nice…

So I should start off by saying I love your products and how you go about making them. The quality of materials are fantastic, and I love how you make great options exist for recycled products. With that being said, I do have issues with your higher end synthetic and down products.

The issue resides mainly in the loft size for your Featherlite and NanoLoft series of Rumpls. For a blanket, one should expect that if you are paying more, the performance of the item should be greater.

As for what performance is in a blanket, the primary use case tends to be insulation. The NanoLoft and Featherlite blankets have such low performance in terms of insulation, since it seems that you have valued packable size over the actual warmth of the product.

I work in the outdoor industry at REI and I can honestly say that when someone is looking at your Featherlite blanket (399. 99 usd price point), I urge them NOT to purchase it. You could easily spend 100 less on a packable quilt that has the same purpose with a MUCH higher quality down-fill count.

The Featherlite has an embarrassingly low quality down-fill for the extremely high price. All of this could be forgiven, if it actually kept you warm. But again, it seems that you believe the consumer wants a small blanket to spend 400 dollars on, as opposed to a well performing product.

I hope to see changes in pricing or in the quality of your products, or I can only recommend buying them when on such a drastic discount, such as the one I received.

When preparing to move eight cats from the US to Portugal, we needed to find blankets that would be comforting to the cats and also help protect furnishings and airplanes. In the past we’ve used waterproof sheets, but those are undesirable for a variety of reasons: aesthetics, comfort, and sustainability.

I accidentally happened across Rumpl blankets online and was thrilled that they were not only water repellent (cat accidents happen!), but also made from recycled materials. I purchased one to try it out and when it arrived I was stunned by how beautiful it was in person.

The colors are gorgeous! We ordered 2 more plus a couple of Stash Mats about a month before moving so that the cats could get used to them and they would smell like home. The cats loved them immediately and they became a favorite bed.

In transit, the blankets helped keep the cats warm and block out some of the airplane noise, and they saved the day with a water spill and litter box accident. Now they cover our furniture to keep fur at bay, and they are so beautiful we don’t have to hide them away when company comes.

The cats still love them and sleep on them almost exclusively! We plan to add to our collection so we have plenty to go around. And they are really durable and easy to wash, so cat claws and shedding fur aren’t a concern.

This is my all-time favorite RUMPL (I have 7 and the collection is growing!). If you’re searching for the perfect, versatile blanket, search no more. Even during COVID times, I’m on the road quite a bit for work – I DO NOT travel without this blanket.

It packs down to the size of a water bottle making it easy to carry on to planes (fits perfectly in the water bottle pouch on the side of a pack!). I never know how cold I’m going to be on a flight – so I love having the blanket with me as an insurance policy.

It’s the perfect size for plane use – it covers my body with just enough to tuck underneath my bottom without being too unwieldy for tight airplane seats. It also doubles as a great pillow if need be.

The pyro trii-fade is a beautiful, vibrant pattern – I’m eying a larger size as the next addition to my collection because I love the pattern so much! I also keep one of these in the car – from soccer games to softball tournaments, you never know when it’s going to come in handy – I use it all the time! I purchased this product the week it launched (thank you RUMPL email list!) and have used it on a couple dozen flights and for many, many outdoor sporting events – it’s showing no signs of wear or tear.

Also washes well – I hang dry so there haven’t been any issues with fading or shrinking in the dryer. It’s my favorite RUMPL – warm, versatile and fun!.

It’s a perfect blanket for whatever the activity your planning! I use mine at the beach all the time and it works wonders! The sand just slides right off and if somehow there’s some sunscreen residue on it I just throw it in the washer and then hang to air dry! It’s as good as new again, ready for my next outing! I love all their products! Would definitely recommend to anyone and everyone! Won’t find anything like it!!.

This is what I wanted – a lightweight ground cloth. That being said the material is very thin, as it is exactly like any ENO hammock, but for the ground. I was slightly disappointed at the loops on the corners as they don’t seem very reinforced and I don’t expect them to last very long especially if much tension is placed on them.

4 stakes included are pretty nice, solid aluminum. Not sure what I would use the “stash pocket” for, as it is merely a zippered pouch in one corner of the blanket (not for packing/storing the blanket, that is a separate pouch/bag).

All in all satisfied with the purchase as I was looking for lightweight and small packable solution.

Took this great piece of gear to Croatia over the summer of 2015 and couldn’t have been happier. I didn’t have any issues with the stakes. They didn’t get in the way or bend or anything. The pouch it came with was roomy enough to store the bag and 3 cans of beer.

Kept bugs off of us when we were outside, kept us clean when we was on the ground, and the pouch kept my beers cold when I put a few in the pouch and tied it in the river. Any gear that is solid and has multiple uses, is a win in my book.

I use this primarily behind my pickup under my Kelty Waypoint Tarp as a way to keep dirt out of the trucked and sort of extend the “living space” a bit. It’s lightweight, and seemingly durable with coolers, chairs, and hiking boots being on it almost constantly.

I haven’t used the little pocket that on it yet, and can’t quite think of a use for it honestly, although I’m sure someone more imaginative than I could find a reason to use it. All-in-all a solid purchase that I am more than happy with.

I thought this would be a warm blanket to use with my double deluxe eno hammock. And although it isn’t what I thought it would be I really like this blanket a lot. I live near the beach and I enjoy hammocking underneath the fishing pier.

And this blanket really made the difference. Love the size and material Love the zipper and the included stakes that come in the Velcro stash bag. When staked in the sand on a very windy day this blanket stayed put.

The blanket is ~92″ x 92″, since I didn’t see that info anywhere. This parachute-like material blanket is large, water resistant, lightweight and packs down very well. It’s become my go-to beach blanket, easily fitting 3 people (could fit more).

It also comes with 4 stakes which has been a gamer changer for the beach. I would highly recommend if you are looking for something light weight, packs small, big, and versatile.

So I’ve used both the Versa and Versa Luxe. Both are *excellent* blankets with very high warmth factors. The Versa packs down much smaller due to not having the additional microfleece layer, but I use these in different ways.

The Luxe is a great cuddle blanket with kids, decent wind resistance, and oh-so-warm. Highly recommended for cool evenings where you just need something extra while around a fire reading stories or something.

Perfect. My kids also love the little hand grabs and foot box!.

I own two different brands of camping blankets and the Klymit Versa Luxe blanket is my favourite. So soft and fleecy on the inside! I use it at home and for car camping; too heavy for backpacking. It’s also great around the campfire.

Love that it makes an XL camping pillow and fits into its own stuff sack. I am buying a second one as a gift!.

This blanket keeps me at a comfortable temperature and does not cause me to overheat and the fleece doesn’t attract or hold onto dog fur. Nice for fall car camping. I will likely try the regular versa as craftsmanship of this blanket is amazing.

The only cons for me is that it’s bulky, though it does pack fairly easily into the foot box if you take the time. Overall a very nicely constructed blanket that is less prone to slipping off. It’s the perfect blanket if you don’t mind the bulk for a bit of luxury.

This is one of the best Camping/traveling blankets I have used in a long time. For the price, it is worth every penny. It has a smallish footprint and compacts to a small/medium sized bag, and is very well made.

Ive had issues before where the camping gear you buy, never fits back into the bag/traveling case you first initially take it out of. This blanket is not one of those cases – The blanket easily folds up, and there is an elastic band to help keep it all tied up into a small rollup to fit into the bag.

Very convenient!As far as I took this camping over the weekend, with the night time temperatures dropping to the low 50s/High 40s. Using this to keep warm in a camping chair is the business, and the waterproof outer layer is an added bonus.

I only used this as my blanket while as I was sleeping, and it provided enough warmth to last me the whole night without me waking up from the cold shivers. Great Traveling blanket – I can see myself throwing it in my car during the Winter months of the year just in case, or during a football game in the fall time – pretty much anytime you need a blanket outside of home, this will be my guy for now on.

We purchased this for camping early in the fall, and it did exactly what we were hoping for kept the chill off on a night that dipped just below freezing. Pros:- Its super lightweight. Honestly, packed up w/ our camp bed inflatable queen from REI it wasnt noticeable addition to the weight.

– Packs up into a tiny pouch: we slipped it into our camping bed pack, and theres noticeable space being taken up. – It fits perfectly between the sheet and comforter of our camp bed, and served to add just enough extra warmth to keep the chill off.

Cons:- Trying to come up w/ something. I guess the only drawback could be that the material is a bit slick, so if you just lay it on top of your blanket or comforter, it can easily slide to the side or off.

Since we put it between our sheet and comforter, we didnt have any issues.

Ive had this blanket for about a year now and find it very useful for outdoor picnics. What I love about it compared to other blankets is that it keeps the moisture from seeping through surfaces like damp grass and maintains the surface to stay soft and dry during use.

I like that the surface keeps its flatness and the corners dont get blown by the wind too easily due to the material and all-around stitching around the edges. The fleece surface is noticeably warmer to sit on compared to other blankets that are cotton/synthetic, and dries quickly when water gets on it.

I have not tried washing it fully in the washer, but its easy to clean just by wiping the bottom side with a damp paper towel and using a lint roller for the fleece side. Ive also used it at the beach a few times and sand comes off easily.

Such a great purchase and highly recommend!.

I hate hotels that only have a really hot duvet cover. You have a choice of nothing and freezing or the duvet and roasting. This is the solution. A light blanket that you can pack.

Smaller-than-expected hardly a blanket, good for a throw.

Soooo cute! I bought this blanket because of the pattern but it is so nifty when you want to roll it up and put it back in its pouch- you can even put your feet in the pouch when you’re using the blanket and it keeps them extra warm.

The blanket is medium thick, so not the warmest blanket I have from here but very soft! My only qualm is that I wish Vera Bradley made their blankets a bit bigger, because the sizing they have for most of their blankets always leaves you wishing it was just a litttllee but bigger.

I bought this blanket in three pattens as hostess gifts and had them monogrammed by VB. They are so soft and the monogram’s look beautiful. I ended up buying a fourth blanket for myself! My only critique is the length of letters allowed for monogram.

I was not able to monogram my name, Heather, as they don’t allow that many letters. Kind of seems silly to me.

I loved using this blanket on my last 4 hr flight. It folds up fairly small, could fit in my tote along my other things. I actually unfolded the blanket and put my feet in the pocket (that the blanket folds into).

I usually bring slippers for long flights because of the cold, but this beautiful, soft blanket literally covered me from head to toe! Very cozy!.

I gave this blanket to a friend who is seriously ill. I sleep with my blanket every night and it like being wrapped up in a cloud so I hope that it helps Chris feel good too. The blanket feels wonderful and is a delightful comfort.

It is a great size and easy to care for. I just throw it in the washer and dryer every week and it is ready to go. This is a great product. I love, love, love these blankets. Of note, I bought little ones for my twin grand daughters when they were young and they were perfectly cuddly.

I bought a Paynesgray Kashwere throw at least 10 years ago at a little shop on St. Armands Circle on Long boat Key, FL. It has been a family treasure ever since. In fact my husband had literally taken it over.

I love the new Kashwere blanket throw. It’s comfy, perfect to snuggle up and get comfortable. It’s my second one and washes and retains its soft cozy feel. You will definitely not be disappointed. The quality is worthy of the price you pay.

This is mainly a travel blanket as it has a big pocket sewn into it to fold up the blanket. It also has a band attached to hook it onto your rolling luggage. I wish this had been written in the description, as this is not suitable for what I need it for.

Secondly, after washing there are fuzzies all over what was in the dryer and on my furniture. I own a few of the larger fleece Vera Bradley blankets sold the last 2 years, and they are wonderful. This travel blanket does not compare in any way.

One good thing is the colors and print are beautiful.

This is the second one of these pillow/throws that I have purchased. I like to use it on the car when I am the passenger. I can use it for a pillow or a cozy throw. Very pretty, too.

I decided to buy my 3rd rumpl the other day and i ordered this travel blanket. i should’ve read the product dimension carefully. the quality of the blanket is amazing. you won’t be disappointed. the size is great for traveling esp when i am flying.

i gave 4 stars because i am not sure if this item worth $99. i rather go buy original puffy for $99 than this teeny tiny size blanket (i know, this travel blanket is Nano version) but i still think it’s a very high price point for super small blanket.

I bought this to use on a flight to Scotland. It was perfect for the chilly airplane- it’s so cozy but not bulky. We landed in Scotland at the tail end of a record heat wave. With no air conditioning in the hotel, this blanket was perfect for hotel sleeping as well.

I love it and will travel with it always.

First, I am a little disappointed that the Versa Blanket I recieved does not have the cinch cord that is referenced by Altitude and shown in the product photos. I suspect that the product description has not kept up with changes to the product.

Altitude needs to update the product description so that people that regard the cinch cord as important are not upset. I purchased this blanket as a cheap and light alternative to an overbag. It meets that requirment for me.

I’ve used overbags and been irritated by how they compress and restrict room in my sleeping bag. So a blanket made more sense to me. The Versa Blanket has corner attachment points that allow me to keep the it on top of the sleeping bag independently by attaching it under the sleeping mat.

I have not had an opportunity to test the blanket during actual camping. Irrespective, my trials at home show that the blanket can stay on top of my sleeping bag as I turn over in the sleeping bag. This will allow me to mininimize moisture on my down sleeping bag by pushing the dew point out to the blanket.

At a minimum, this bag will be a welcome addition during the summer where cooler weather makes supplemental insulation advantageous with my summer sleeping bag.

I got my versa blanket through Bespoke Post. I am not going to lie, I have seen many Klymit products advertised and reviewed, but they always seemed to me to be a bit expensive and appeared a bit flimsy for my needs.

Let me stress that in my adventures there is no room for trendy “ultralight”, social media-fueled gear. 90% of that garbage doesn’t last 48 hours for me, hence my hesitation at making a purchase. particularly at those sort of prices.

Lets face it, outdoors companies are selling what is trending, and more power to them, but I never spend money on gear that won’t hold up, or, even hints that it won’t. I have darn near frozen to death with hypothermia due to fake R values, ran out of water in the middle of the desert because an “indestructible” bladder sprung a massive leak from a six inch fall on smooth ground, and nearly bled out in the Rockies because a “safety” folding knife came open in my pocket during a tumble down a snowfield.

Then, I was out in the field when my time to choose my monthly Bespoke Post Club Box came up. I returned home to find that it was a Klymit Versa blanket. I figured “What the heck, too late to change, might as well try it out for a night before I return and exchange it for something else.

” WOW! I was wrong wrong wrong wrong! Not only is the Versa blanket well designed, it is far more durable than it looks. The first night I tried it at out home, indoors, on my bed. AC set at a pug-friendly 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

yeah, a bit chilly for me, but my elderly rescue pugs can’t handle higher temperatures very well. Not only was I comfortable (I am a cold sleeper), I didn’t get all sticky sweaty or overheated like I do with similar synthetic sleeping gear like the Friendly Swede sheet or the Kelty Rambler 50F sleeping bag/quilt! I was shocked, this all synthetic blanket behaves almost like it was designed specifically for me.

I have horrible nightmares if my feet get cold, but can’t stand to wear socks while sleeping. With the Versa, I just tuck my feet into the pocket and I sleep like the dead! The rambler foot pocket is too small by the way, the Versa is just right! I should also add my pug Carlos the Unwonder dog, approves.

He gets over heated under a blanket, but was enthusiastic to snuggle up next to me under it, and did not want to leave the next morning, even when it was time to eat! I was so enthusiastic of the versa, I took it out on a late season trip here in Nebraska Sandhills.

Daytime temps in the mid 70s, night time in the 40s. I brought along my trusty Alpaca blanket from Ecuador just incase the Klymit failed. Nope, nothing but the Klymit Versa and the built-in mattress of my ARB Skydome double swag, and I was snug as a bug in a rug.

Late night thunderstorm on day three, and I stayed comfortable and dry. I now cannot wait to try out the Versa in lower temperatures and lower humidity, adding it to my sleeping layers. Sure it is not designed for use below freezing and such on its own, but when paired with other gear and other sleeping equipment, it is a perfect addition.

This very well may be the best designed camping blanket in the world. It is so good, I just ordered two more, one for my recliner and one to keep in my emergency gear in my Jeep. Ignore the price- this item is worth every single penny! My only complain as I couldn’t find and washing instructions.

I assumed cold water and hang to dry, mild detergent only. Thhis is what I have done, and it has held up great without the insulation balling or bunching. In short, I haven’t been this happy to be wrong about a a brand or a product in a long time.

I am now shopping to try out other Klymit products to make my field research gear even better. I cannot wait till winter to pair the Versa Blanket with my trusty 25 year old alpaca wool and a few other bits of kit so I do not have to sleep like a sweaty human potato in a synthetic mummy bag.

I’d give ten stars if I could, and look forward to purchasing more Klymit products. Hopefully that double wide air pad is as good as the is blanket- I can save space and weight in my Jeep by not having to drag around the heavy, but super comfortable foam mattress.

I work as a paramedic and I bought this originally to put in my winter first aid/emergency kit in my truck as a contingency item. I ended up using it all the time for camping. It packs up small, is surprisingly durable, is warmer than you would expect, and it can double as a pillow.

The foot pouch is great. I also own the luxe version with the fuzzy liner and that one is incredibly warm. Overall a great purchase. I bought my family each one to put in their vehicles for emergency winter use.

I saw these advertised on Instagram. I was immediately intrigued and the product looked like it could be great, but also cautious. Whenever I see something I might be interested in I spend a lot of time researching the product to find out if it’s genuinely good or just ad spam.

After reading a few reviews and trawling a couple of websites I hit go on the shopping basket. The Cloudtouch blanket arrived really quickly and I wasn’t disappointed, the feel and quality was as I hoped.

It’s very satisfying when you purchase something online that meets your high expectations. My partner immediately purchase a second one and we will be investing in the picnic blankets next and probably two of the smaller cloudtouch blankets for our girls.

They seem a bit expensive but the fact that they use recycled materials and feel incredible well made and durable gives me the confidence that they will be a worthwhile investment. They’re also beautiful, but a lot of the nicest designs were sold out.

If you can afford it, I would highly recommend them.

Excellent blanket for camping and general outdoors with easy press stud fixings to change the way you use it. The fleecy lining feels really nice and cosy. I used this for wild camping up in the shropshire hills and kept me nice and warm, however the compression for packing is not the best, it’s quite a big pack size.

The travel one would probably be best for me rather than the cloudtouch. Versatility of being able to make into a sleeping bag or pillow as well as just a blanket is brilliant and it’s also something the wife and I use inside for cosy nights on the sofa.

The quality seems really good, although I think the placement of the zip for the pillow would be better of placed in the middle and out of the way. Overall a really good product and I featured it on one of my you tube videos THAT UNFIT BLOKE, so if u wanted take a look.

Ordered this to use mainly as a picnic blanket. As soon as it arrived it was in the suitcase and it came with us to Portugal. It’s not too big to carry so it was ideal for us. We used it everyday on the beach and it was brill.

It was big enough for two adults and a 1year old to sit on and it was perfect for the beach as the sand just dropped off when we lifted it up to leave. Any wet sand just dried and then dropped off due to the material the blanket is made from.

It’s a nice touch that it comes in its own stuff style bag, it makes it easy to carry. It seems well made although I can’t comment on how it washes as it has yet to be put through the washing machine.

It’s nice to know that it’s made of recycled materials and hopefully it will last us a long time. I really like the idea that you can clip blankets together and I will probably order another one in the near future so we can have have even more space when/if we need it.

I LOVE Voited products. This is my second purchase. The quality is fantastic. The products are practical and useful. They’re compact and great for travel or on the move, whether packing to take in the car, or in a backpack when walking/camping.

The fact they’re eco is a huge plus. The designs are so gorgeous and stunning, the colours are rich and aesthetic. I have used my products on the beach, in the garden when sitting by the firepit, on a walk to rest and picnic, as a sleeping blanket.

If you don’t fancy housing a bulky dry robe but would like a lightweight compressible version and also have use for a beach rug, an extra duvet in the camper on cold nights, a pre/post exercise toasty wrap, a campfire blankie or hooded robe combo that can also swaddle a baby/dog on your lap then this is for you.

Face away from the crowds and it works well as a non-slip change robe too. Packed into itself to form a comfy cushion, it has certainly earned it’s space in the camper or in a backpack in the compression sack provided for a day at the beach.
