I see people wasting money on the bolt-on spacer with extra long flexplate bolts. Why bother? This does the same thing without the extra hassle or cost. Just hammer it into your crank, and this centers the snout on the torque converter keeping it from vibrating.

This is so you can use any old Chevy Transmission and torque converter with a newer LS engine and flywheel. Just need to open up the bolt holes in the ls flywheel for them to line up with and older torque converter.

This product centers the torque converter on the crank.

I am using this for a LS/TH350 combo swap. Summit had fast shipping and a quality product. Mated the TH350 to the factory LS flywheel with no issues or alterations. Alignment was perfect!

Just finished using this kit to rebuild my TH350 trans that had burnt up 1st rev clutches on my drag race vette. Kit is complete except no bushings or thrush washers, bearings. instruction were good but pictures where black and white not really good enough to see.

buy your self a book and video it will make it a lot easier for 1st timers. had to punch two holes out on the gaskets they didn’t tell how to do that use a small piece of metal tubing the same size of the hole.

had all the seals and gaskets, steels and clutches needed very complete kit minus the thrush washers and bushings.

The seals, steels, and the fibers were great quality. The pictures in the instructions manual were poor though. Everything worked out well just had to purchase the bushings and pump pistons separately.

Will purchase this product again.

Overall it’s good, it doesn’t have bushings or thrust washers though; had to order those separately. Comes with an instruction book but it’s black and white and very faded.

This was installed on a 1994 K1500 with the 4L60E automatic transmission. Great product that works at a low cost. The hardest part of installation was popping out the ECM , lol. I gave the appearance a low number because the tape supplied to hold it in position is no good , it should come with a custom mount instead of tape.

I keep it on the first setting and it works great. I noticed a difference immediately.

I installed the shiftplus about a month ago. Very easy to install and works amazing. I put 32×11. 50 tires on my 07 colorado 3. 7L. It struggled to shift. Now, with the shiftplus installed, running it on the first stage, even with my work equipment in back and it shifts better than when I had the stock tires and no shiftplus.

installation was very easy. i did it at the trans end. 1972 monte carlo with 1995 lt1 with 4l60e. only drove it 3-4 times. cant really tell the difference. i want to see a difference but honestly dont see it.

maybe i did something wrong. would not recommend it at this point. maybe i got a bad unit?.

For the price this is a 5 star, but, I would have liked a little more info on non GM swaps and 4X4 applications since this model is going in many things besides an old Chevy. The meat of the rebuild section is great and if you have successfully rebuilt a TH400 you can use this book as a reference to build the 4L60E successfully also.

Its home is next to my old 700R4 Pontiac manual.

Very informative with high quality pics. Modification section needs to be updated with newer available heavy duty upgrades like TCI trans brake and Sonnax 300M input shaft, and adding a small section for bolt torque values and flexplate/torque converter spacing would be nice.

I was expecting a little bit more detail in theory of operation. Not bad at all as a primer. No where near the kind of detail that is contained in the Motorbooks International publications. The one detail that was totally lacking is throttle cable adjustment.

Throughout the book, proper adjustment is stressed, but no where does it describe how to perform the adjustment. Yes, a lot of this detail can be found in other reference books such as the factory service manuals (if you can still find them for your application).

The disasembly/assembly sections are detailed enough, though. Overall it’s a good book.

the “Updated Edition” is still out of date. i should have realized that before i purchased it. What drew me in was the C2 Corvette on the cover as that is what i am working on and expected to be more in depth.

It did have some information but not anymore that couldn’t be found on the net. It is still a great reference guide.

This book could not be anymore usless. its a lot of color pics of someone doing there own project. no wiring diagrams or hardly anything on the harnesses, no part numbers or where to get stock parts to fit let alone aftermarket parts.

Don’t waste your time or money. you will get more info on the LS blogs.

The book is very good and informative. Gives a great deal of info and tech help. It touches on the issue of cost of the LS1 but I think I would devote the beginning of the book to talk about cost of an LS1 swap from crate motor to the diamond in the hay stack junk yard find.

I know the Author talked about cost in the history and through out the book but I think it should have been a section to itself up front. It would have made the book more enjoyable for me.

I put it in a race car that’s about 375hp. It has about 40 laps on it, most of them engine break-in. Pan and filter are full of brass from a failing part. Waiting to hear from TCI…

I first tried a locally rebuilt trans which would not shift. Not trusting local products, I ordered a TCI T350 and a new Hughes converter. Price and shipping were very good. Buyer should know that trans comes with a tag that says warranty is void if any converter is used except a TCI converter.

I was not aware of this or would have purchased a TCI converter. Barring that, everything went in properly, trans has firmer shifts than stock, requiring me to set the vacuum modulator way back, trying for earlier, less harsh shifts.

A slight leak from the tail-shaft seal. Overall, a good investment, since money I spent on a local product was wasted.

I got a sizzler th350 from summit and installed it in my el camino and the thing didn’t last a month. It had suddenly locked up on the highway. Called tci to try and get some compensation but they told me I would have to pay for shipping to them and back and possibly for the repair.

(at that point it is chaper for me to get it rebuilt here, seeing as im in canada) Tore it apart and found that the snap ring on the one way had come out destroying the trans. NEVER BUY A TCI PRODUCT!!! THE PRODUCT AND THE SERVICE IS GARBAGE!.

I had some trouble with the threads being in poor shape on the first one. Speedway replaced it. The second one would not fit the bellhousing would not go past the starter housing, but the 1st one fit fine on the motor.

Again Speedway replaced it. The 3rd one hit the starter as well so I just ground the inside of the bellhousing until it would fit. Expensive part to have the grind out part to make it fit.

Don’t be fulled by the description were it says not SFI. Because this bellhousing is the same other than it only has a backing plate that covers the low portion like a factory shield. Only this shield is much thicker and stronger.

The approved SFI has a full backing plate top to bottom. Other than that what a super strong an well made piece. I build cars for a living and will must definitely will be using this in more cars.

I am very happy with result but I modified the product. #1. The dust plate only has two fastener points and will rattle very loud. I made a replacement dust cover and added two additional fasteners on each corner.

#2. you will need to substitute header bolts or Allen heads in the lower corners as there is no bolt head clearance. #3. I machined a lot of the starter pocket flange away to clear headers. Very accurate pivot stud location.

Again excellent product, box had been opened and resealed, contacted Sonnax and spoke with Jason, a parts tech, excellent customer service, confirmed that unit was correct and theirs. USA made and very good quality but the race was difficult to install, very tight, but with time and care went into sprag bearing! Will most definitely purchase again!!! Torington bearing and sun shell very good quality as well! Price was a little high, but you get what you pay for.

I went into my 4l60e to fix a tcc slip and hard 2-3 shift. There was nothing broken, but knowing the sunshell is a weak point I had this re engineered heavy duty one on hand. It was an easy swap in and gives me great comfort for when I’m way out on the trial putting my 4X4 rig to the test.

Ordered Sunday night, Trans arrived Wednesday afternoon, much faster than I thought freight shipping would arrive. Install was quick and easy. First drive you notice a little notchy-ness, but just break it in like Tremec says to, and as you drive you can feel the shifter slipping into the gates easier and easier.

Compared to a LS T56 you really notice how precise the shifts feel. Great upgrade if you plan on punishing your drivetrain at the track Shifter in my pic is not original, It’s a B&M off the old trans.

Holley has made it this much easier to swap an LS and T56 into my 72 Nova. This crossmember looks great, and even allows for room for exhaust routing, which was very important for me. It feels like a true quality product, and looks like it will last for a very long time.

A lot of people complain about you having to use all Holley components to be able to use this, but when you crunch numbers, Holley’s LS swap system makes things MUCH easier! It has saved me from having to piece things together, AND from having to cut my Nova’s floor too much(Non Magnum T56 only)! That’s a win for me anytime! The only thing that I do have to mention is that the crossmember had like two chips on it.

I am just going to touch it up a bit, and drop it right in. I would definitely recommend this crossmember to anyone.

Fit very well. I had to go with this crossmember to allow clearance for the exhaust to line up with my headers. I bought this to replace a Bowler Crossmember which didn’t fit at all, and interfered with the headers.

The Holley Crossmember is very well made.

Bolted right up as described. Great instructions and quality finish looking parts. Way better than running just a spacer and elongating holes on your stock flex plate! I had to drop the starter after mock up just to install the converter bolts on my TH350.

But I am also running a truck oil pan. Other applications might allow more access.

Worked perfect with the GM LS3 525HP CRATE MOTOR from SUMMIT !!! Starter and Ring gear aligned right up as well as the flywheel/flex plate to CONVERTOR TAB HOLES. Only pulled the CONVERTOR 3/16″ to mate them.

You must use this item with all the old vintage trans. Original trans fill tube will need to be modified or something that fits, cause the engine block/heads sets back further than a SB CHEVY.

Fits as advertised. Used the kit to mate an LM 7 (truck version of an LS) to a 700R4 transmission. A kit from a different vendor did not work as it didn’t allow the torque converter to snug up to the flywheel.

It left a gap. The Summit kit resolved that issue.

Got this to replace the 4l60 I blew in my Silverado. It arrived poorly packaged (it poked through the flimsy box it was packaged in), but I figured whatever, it didn’t have any damage. Im happy it comes fully assembled with electronics and all, it made install smooth, paired the trans with a new oem torque converter.

Started it up and it ran great until it hit the highway. After that it got a p1870 code. I plan to replace the valve body since I have a new fully assembled one in my garage. Hopefully that does the trick.

Ive also noticed trans fluid seeping slowly out of the bellhousing access hole/dust cover. Should have bought a rebuild kit and rebuilt my existing 4l60, overall disappointed with this product for apparently being dyno tested and built to last.

They should also package this MUCH better. The box it came in was a joke. Price is pretty average, but should reflect a product that won’t have problems out of the box. Time to sort out this p1870.

Bought this 2 months ago. Came to my door tested and ready to go all but full of fluid installed topped off fluid and went straight to work 9hr away with a 7×12 inclosed trailer 15000 miles now with 99% of them being hooked to the trailer never a stumble slip nothing absolutely perfect will definitely be buying another for for my other truck.

I had a shop rebuild my stock transmission to be a “performance” transmission. $3200 later and i was still burning up 3/4 clutches. I was in a pinch and decided to order a trans in a box and jegs had the best price plus no core charge.

I received the transmission on time and went in without a hitch. This trans is quick shifting, very responsive, and has great positive shifts. Perfect for my cammed 5. 3. As long as the longevity of the transmission is good then I’ll be more than happy!!.

First th400 level 4 with transbrake went 4 passes on 600hp motor and something gave up in the internals of the trans. They warranted the trans with no problems. Put second trans in and it works flawlessly and hits hard every shift.

Transbrake works perfect and hard launch everytime. Would definitely recommend this trans.

Haven’t had any issue with this trans since install a year ago and approximately 20 passes 5000 street miles and probably a hundred hard street pulls at 600-800rwhp levels and I am a person that usually has many transmission issues in my other projects haha.

Very well worth the money for this one.

Took a trip from Virginia to Michigan, it was night and day. Lower rpm than factory. Plus I could really see the benefits of my engine upgrades done previously with this transmission. Had to remember that I wasn’t in a race car lol.

Told my avalanche group all about it.

Came with everything shown, directions, torque specs and tool list. Last piece I needed to complete my LS swap to an older 4l80, now the engine is fully secured to the bell housing and I’m no longer nervous about pulling a load with the truck.

Bonus i now have an extra set of bell housing and torque converter bolts.

I needed this for my 2000 chevy suburban which I recently installed a 4l80e transmission and newer 2005 5.3 engine. Came with simple instructions and extra bolts.

Just received mine today. It looks like it fits exactly for the 4L80/4L85. Comes with all of the bolts required to connect to the transmission and back of the LS Oil Pan. Also has the bolts to connect the flex plate to the crank and the flex plate to the torque converter.

The surfaces that are not touching the pan or the transmission are rougher than I would have thought but they don’t seem to matter. Seems strange to be able to scratch your wrist on the outside curve of the part.
