20 Best Toys For Small Puppies (2023 Updated)

Nicky is a 35 pound black lab mix and this duck is his favorite stuffed toy. He takes it all over the house and he takes it to bed with him. It is very sturdy. Nicky has chewed through or roughly shaken other stuffed toys and they fell apart.

This one holds up. He also loves the squeaky.

I just got this for my pups. They get so excited when they get new toys. Multi pet is a great brand and I have purchased so many of their pet toys since owning pups. This is a very large toy very cute though.

These are my dogs FAVORITE toys. He has three of them and plays with all of them constantly. He carries them from room to rooms and we often wake up at night with one in the bed. They stay in tack and don’t test easily like other toys.

They get dirty easily but they are easy to just throw in the wash with some towels and they are good as new.

We have had the goughnut for 2 weeks now and our Meg (Fox terrier/Whippet/Beardie) hasn’t even nanaged to put teeth marks into it. No chew toy has lasted this long. She chews everything until it is tiny pieces but the Goughnut has lasted.

Long may it last!! And she looks sooo innocent too.

My pup started chewing this after finishing with the treat and ripped through some of it. This is only my 2nd or 3rd time using it and this happened only after ~5 mins unsupervised. I’m afraid to use it again since she could rip and eat parts of it.

See attached pictures. Also, putting anything on it remotely runny will not shape well with the Groov, even when using the cover and freezing. I blended together some frozen fruits with chicken broth and honey, it ended up in a smoothie-like texture.

It was difficult to put onto the Groov but I thought it would freeze okay once I put on the cover. When it was done freezing, it didn’t freeze inside the grooves, some of it froze outside of it onto the edges, making it difficult to attach on the crate (Diggs Revol crate).

These products are high quality very functional. I was amazed how easy it is to set up the crate, open the box, take it out and pull it up. The quality is unbeatable and I have spent hours researching dog crates.

It will last many years. You know the old saying ” you get what you pay for”, well in this case it is true! You will not be disappointed. The Snooze crate pad is also another quality item. Well made and sturdy.

I also love the Groove Training Aid, is is thick and solid One of the smartest training tools I have seen in years. Diggs certainly impressed me with the quality of the products they offer.

I have put different spreads in yogurt I have made popsicles and the product holds up. I still have a young puppy so I don’t know how this will hold up with a strong chewer. It does promote licking because that’s how your dog can reach his snack and it does calm them and it’s great that it goes in the crate but eventually when the spread or popsicle or whatever it is getting low a dog will chew because dogs are chewers.

It’s not really that big of a deal you just have to supervise your pup and remove it. The really big issue with it is cleaning. I literally have to run boiling hot water over it and use a teeny little wire brush to get all the food off and then I run it through the dishwasher.

That’s why it gets four stars.

What a wonderful cozy, soft and cuddly fun big dog came into my house one day for my 9 pound Havapoo Pepper. It really didn’t look like anything special online, even in the box as I was opening it up.

But WOW, when you take Buddy (that’s what I named him) out of the box, that first feel of him is magic. All you want to do is hug him and never let go. The you see there is a heart you can insert into Buddy and he starts being human.

The heart starts beating and he becomes real. And then, you can make him warm with a small packet and he comes to life. You hold him for a while and you suddenly forget all your problems and guess what? You fall asleep, and Pepper never gets to play with Buddy.

So, Buddy is a wonderful addition to Pepper’s toy box, if it ever gets into the toy box. But seriously, Snuggle Puppy is definitely a wonderful behavioral aid toy. I found that my hyperactive dog Pepper loved Snuggle Puppy from the minute he came into the house, well from the minute I let Pepper have him.

I saw a change in Pepper’s behavior soon after. Snuggle Puppy began to calm her down, especially at night. When you look at the price you might think it is a bit expensive but believe me it is worth every penny.

It is a great purchase.

We bought one of these just before we drove for several hours to pick up a two month old White German Shepherd Dog. She slept with it all the way home, and every night since, plus often during the day.

She is now a few days short of her 6 month birthday and this snuggle puppy is with her every night, most evenings and a lot of days. She began sleeping through the night earlier than she should have and we are convinced this snuggle puppy is the reason.

She can go through a bully stick in less than an hour or so regardless of how thick it is and this snuggle puppy looks almost brand new!!! When the batteries for the little heart start to get weak, she will bring it to us to perform a little “heart surgery”!! We leave it set on a continuous heart beat and the batteries last a couple of weeks.

Be forewarned that if it is really quiet, hearing that little heart beat is a little unnerving at first!!! LOL. This is absolutely the most wonderful gift you could give a young puppy!.

I actually bought two Snuggle Puppies – one for upstairs, and one for downstairs, before I brought home my 3 month old Yorkshire Terrier. The honest truth is that I’m not sure the heat or the beating heart made all that much difference.

It didn’t bother her, but I learned that this toy was a super favorite whether it was turned on or not. I think it has something to do with the size and comfortable plushness of the toy. The first picture I have of Charlotte was of her piled on top of one of her two litter mates.

She does the same thing with SP. She is now 7 1/2 months old and still hauls SP around with her. the other night I felt her get on top of me in the middle of the night. I groaned, but thought ok. Then there was a PLOP!, and I realized she hauled Snuggle Puppy up there with her.

I grabbed SP and put him beside me, then PLOP! he was back on top. It took about 8 tries for me to convince Charlotte she was welcome, but SP could sleep beside us. I would absolutely recommend the Snuggle Puppy to anyone coming home with a new puppy.

I have purchased these flying discs for years. My Belgians and Border Collies love them in the dog park and swimming in the lakes. I bought a new one for my 14 month old Border Collie, Willow and within 20 minutes of throwing it at the dog park, the seam ripped open and 2 inches of the rubber tubing popped out!! I couldn’t believe it! These are normally extremely durable.

I have 2 on top of the frig that are old, faded and chewed, but they still work. I could understanding this if Willow had been chewing on it, but we were just playing fetch. I don’t let my dogs use these fly discs as chew toys in the house.

They are always put on top of the frig when we come home from playing. I had to push the tubing back in and stitch it up! Unfortunately today when we went out to play again, the seam ripped in a whole different spot, and I had to sew it back up before the tube popped out again! I’m surprised by the poor quality.

I am going to order a new one, hopefully this was a fluke and the next one will be the quality I am used to. Thanks for listening.

I have been using the Tail Spin Frisbee since 2008 and have probably purchased close to 40 of them. Now have a third generation of dogs. I bought two new ones for about the same price that I always have.

The soft silicone rubber ring is no more and is now hard tygon like PVC and the new cloth is very thin and tears easily and immediately. At this point I will not buy them again and will look for an alternative.

This is the third flying disc we have purchased for our dogs. The others were too heavy and/or did not fly very well; however, this one is perfect. It’s a light enough weight to fly a good distance, is easily & safely caught in our dog’s mouth, and can be shaken with gusto without coming apart.

so far. We have two Lhasa Apso dogs weighing 20 & 15 lbs. and the larger dog loves this disc. The smaller is still a puppy and hasn’t decided if she wants to chase the disc or her brother. We will be ordering a couple more so that we aren’t chasing after the dog with the disc in order to send it flying again!.

I had gotten this toy back in October for his 1st birthday. And he loves it! I was really apprehensive about getting it because of some of the reviews. My fur baby is a heavy chewer, we’ve lost a check book, a few pairs of shoes (amongst other items) because of it, hehe.

I have a smart, food obsessed, moderate chewer. He figures out slow feeders eventually, and will literally inhale his food if it’s just in a bowl. This ball slows him down and provides him with some much needed mental stimulation.

My main problem is that it is so hard to fill. I’ve tried using the cut off top of a bottle like the manufacturer suggests, but despite trying different bottle sizes, it does not fit. I can’t find a funnel that is big enough for his kibble to go through.

So I’m stuck shoving kibble into the opening with my fingers, which is time consuming when you’re talking about an entire meal. This is the only thing that has continued to work for us, and I appreciate that it is made out of a soft material, but I wish it was easier to fill.

I’d recommend this if you’re using it occasionally or for small amounts of treats, but for twice daily use to max capacity, I need something easier to fill. It is vanilla scented and tends to collect hair and lint from the floors.

Frisco is a Shih Tzu with a tiny mouth. This is a perfect size toy for him. It’s one he carries around obsessively. Very cute toy. Pretty sturdy. It’s still intact after several weeks of constant play.

My small size cat likes to pick up her toys and carry them around the house. This ExtraSmall ducky was a great size. I received the Blue one. She is a little afraid of the squeaker, but I think she will get used to me using it with a little more time.

very easy to squeak for my small fur baby. It is hard to find toys that are small enough and easy for her to squeak on her own. These are super cute and I know she will be excited when she gets these for Christmas.

My little dog loves these, he plays with them for hours unfortunately, he loves their squeak, me not so much but it makes him happy.

My japanese chin gets very excited playing with these! They sqeek easily, and although they don’t roll away like a ball, they do roll around.

My labradoodle, Oscar, is a simple dog. He has simple tastes and simple desires. He lives for food, affection and playing fetch with a ball, and not necessarily in that order. The Gnawsome Squeak & Light LED Ball is hands down his absolutely favorite ball.

I purchase two of these and unfortunately they fell apart within less than a month. My dog is VERY gentle with her toys, it’s almost a little unusual. Most of her toys are in perfect condition despite frequent play.

She more so carries then around and cuddles with them but some how the thread on both of these have come loose in multiple spots cause the ears and feet to fall off and the squeaker & cellophane to come out 🙁 unfortunate because she LOVES them!!!.

I thought this would be a little bigger. On the order page, there is a picture of a very large dog with this toy. Size wise this is not what I received. What I received was only about 6 -1/2 x 7-1/2.

I would have preferred a toy a little bigger. Very disappointed!.

Have the dimensions on these toys changed significantly? I ordered two of these balls earlier this year and my pittie mix destroyed the smaller one in days, so we were more careful with the larger one, and it is only recently that she’s taken this one apart.

I ordered a new one — large. My bad for not drilling down into more of the description, because “large” is about the size of a softball. Worthless. I’ll be sending it back. What I was replacing was about the size of a smallish pumpkin.

Dimensions, photos with relevant dog sizes would be super helpful. That said, I also ordered a holee roller extreme, which is about the same size as this pseudo-large, but much thicker in construction.

This might keep her occupied for a while.

3-year-old golden retriever (Belle) and 1-year-old male shihtzeranian (Boyd), and both will choose this stick over almost anything, and they like they at least as well as the peanut butter sticks and animal material sticks.

Both of the latter have sharper edges and chew down too small and turn into choking hazards for an impatient dog like Boyd. Plus I’ve seen those kinds of sticks draw blood. They get rolled up in a way that creates too much of an edge on the ends.

These have form, but no sharp spots, and they take FOREVER to chew down, so they don’t ingest any great amount of anything in a sitting. Anyway, if you have a chewer, try these sticks. There are a lot of different kinds – like I said, both my dogs prefer these over the multiple that we’ve tried.

First of all, they are super affordable. Second, we have two weimaraners. Our youngest one is a chewer/destroyer. I used to get him meat flavored hard chew toys from HomeGoods and he’d eventually start pulling off and eating plastic bits which really scared me.

My younger Aussie who will be 2 in March likes this, but then again she is more of a chewer than my older Aussie. She will chew this night, really haven’t seen her pick this up during the day. Doesn’t smell and doesn’t make a mess.

When I first presented this to Ike, he showed no interest. Later I put a small treat in one of the holes and that was all it took to capture his attention. He continues to enjoy chewing on it, and sometimes I have to sweeten the deal again with a hidden treat.

First, my dog loves this thing. She would keep it with her all day if I let her. But it isn’t a toy you can just throw to your dog and forget about it. Power chewers will destroy it within days or sometimes less.

With that said, my vet has really complimentary and enthusiastic things to say about my dogs teeth and gums. And all I really do is give her this for about 20-30 minutes before bed at night. She often falls asleep while chewing it.

Wish I had been able to see this item before purchasing it. From the description provided and being familiar and comfortable with Pet Safe thought it would be good for my pup. However once it arrived and after removing it from the package had second thoughts to the point of never giving it to my pup who is somewhat of an aggressive chewer.

My goldendoodle pup is going through 2nd teething and he was gnawing it for a while. but he does not have a tendency to destroy his toys.

My chiwennie Ruby is absolutely obsessed wth these squeaker balls. The squeaker last a long time and the ball is very durable. Ruby has one or two in everycolor. She loves to play fetch with these balls and they are easy for her to see because they are so bright.

The ball smells like bacon so that makes it even more of a good thing for her. She will sit and chew on the ball for hours. She is very fond of her squeakers and these balls do not disappoint. She brings one everywhere she goes.

The fact that they are so affordable is great for my wallet. The dura play balls really do hold up for a long time even when they get left out in the sun and weather. I can buy her one and it lasts months the ball usually will tear befor ethe squeaker goes out.

I bought this for my 2-year old great dane. Good size for a big dog. It arrived in a very nice environmentally friendly shipping envelope, some sort of a sturdy paper. Unfortunately, it sat out front for hours until we got home.

We really love that this toy is both made of cotton (only) and in the USA. Other ropes are made of “blends” that nobody knows what’s in them. This toy is our retriever’s new favorite, for now ha,ha,ha.

It frays though, but we prefer that to “indestructible” toys. It is great to be able to buy toys for our pup that we can trust.

My GSD loves chewing snacks like bully sticks and bones and antlers. However most of the time even things that are supposed to be able to handle strong chewing he absolutely destroys within minutes, and things that he can’t, like bones filled with marrow or such treats, after he eats the filling down he’ll get frustrated and give up.

So far, this has been a hit with him! It’s chewy enough on its own that it gives him that give reminiscent of his balls, it’s durable enough that he hasn’t ripped it to shreds yet. And it’s easy enough that he can figure out how to get all the snacks out.

And most importantly, it gives me a break from having to play fetch with him every 15 minutes! The only issue is, it might be a little too easy. If I put just kibble or simple treats in there, he’d have them finished in seconds.

I feel a better design would have a silicone flap over the fill hole, allowing it to be filled easily, but still take a little bit of thought to figure out how to dump it.

This is hands down my dogs favorite toy and the one he spends the most time playing with. I fill it up with some treats or kibble cover it with peanut butter. He spends a few minutes licking off the peanut butter, a few minutes getting the treats out and throwing the toy around and a few minutes chewing it afterwards.

He gets anywhere from 5-20 minutes playing time with it. And it’s fun to watch him think while trying to get them out.

My Miniature Fox Terrier loves this toy. It’s the perfect size for his tiny mouth. It keeps him entertained for quite some time. He finds it much easier to get bits of frankfurt out as they’re smooth, but some small chunks of salami with a rougher surface last for ages.

A definite winner.
