20 Best Toys For Hyper Cats (2023 Updated)

It took my cat approximately two weeks to warm up to this new toy — with the ball track accessible from the inside of the ring. Like most kitties, he’s a great experimentalist and so he right away figured out the difference between this ring toy and most others where the ball can be spun from the top or from the outer side of the ring.

At first he decided he didn’t much care for the difference. But as of yesterday. with both of us now housebound due to the coronavirus. he was onto it big time, and is now playing with it regularly! I’m giving it 4-stars instead of 5-stars because he’s a larger cat and with the active play area on the inside of the ring he needs to maneuver more gingerly than he would if the ring were slightly larger in diameter.

We needed a slow feeder for a young cat that added to his enrichment while we introduce him into household. Otherwise he inhales his bowl in 4 seconds flat. This is perfect! Jimmy loves digging his food out and also will pull out the cups and tip them over and bat them around a bit.

He gets 1/2 in his bowl and 1/2 in the Catit feeder , and treats in the cups at other times. He loves it and Hunting for food is fun! This is so easy to keep clean – I grab the cups and hand wash them in sink and wipe the holder down and done.

The Catit feeder is sturdy, simple to clean and designed really well. The green cups are smooth and rounded on the bottom and great for little paws to scoop. There is a small “well” or low spot on the tray that catches the food when Jimmy scoops it out and it falls to this low spot – absolutely brilliant!.

I thought among the three cats we have there’d be one that would really get into it. Turns out us humans are more into it than the kitties! We like showing them how it lights up and we like seeing their reactions which are attentiveness and swat now and then.

But in terms of sustained play, or playing by themselves with it, didn’t happen. They do care about it when we are sitting by it batting it around but I would rather be playing a wand toy with them if I am going to interact with them around.

If I had to do it all over again I would not have bought it but then I would have always wondered if it would have worked for us. We’ve had it out for a couple weeks now. We will probably pack it up soon as it isn’t worth the floor space it’s taking.

4 stars because I can see it perhaps working for very young kitties (mine are 1. 5 years and older) and it’s built nicely.

So my other cat is Ms. Picky. She has the opposite temperament of her housemate. She is firmly convinced she is a prey animal and acts accordingly skittish much of the time. She is also very picky with her toys.

She only likes certain things. SHE LOVES THIS TOY. I originally had just the enough pieces to make a long line. She would play with it at least once a day. Who knows how often she did this when I wasn’t present? I installed the other parts to make it a big loop.

She LOVES it. I like that the elevations within the toy are perfectly adjusted to make the ball keep rolling beyond what you think it should. Yes, it takes up some real estate on the floor. It’s that or a bunch of “babies” scattered all over the house.

I mean, we have that anyway, so pick your poison.

I had one from a previous cat but it got ‘horked’ on recently and there was really no way to clean it properly, so this is a replacement. I don’t see my boys play with this very much. I’ve squeezed the catnip pouch inside to crush the catnip and make the scent stronger, but still nothing.

It is a well made toy. As described on the website in size. It’s stuffed well but yet soft and the outer fabric is a sturdy soft cotton, flannel-like. My Boys are not really into lying on their backs and kicking at the tail, but I’d say if your cats do that sort of thing, they would like this toy.

I was working as a feline-only vet tech when I was introduced to Kong’s kickeroos. We had them for sale in our retail area as well as in our boarding facility because so many kitties go absolutely wild for them! Admittedly, they do seem to be made with a thinner fabric now, but my cat isn’t terribly aggressive with her claws even though she enjoys biting and kicking at the toy as intended.

The only reason we are on our second kickeroo is because my dog is under the impression that all toys are her toys and she chewed into my cat’s first kickeroo. I bought this one as a replacement as $5 is hard to beat when the toy makes my kitty so happy.

She was asleep when this replacement arrived, but when I showed it to her she woke right up and has been playing with it for the last 10 minutes. She is not a huge toy fan, but the kickeroo seems to be a huge win for her!.

At first my cat loved it, hugging and kicking this toy around. But once the catnip smell was gone he was no longer interested. Occasionally I’ll “refresh” the toy by spraying with catnip spray, but it’s just not the same.

He’ll just sniff the toy, lick at it and be done with it. Obviously each cat has its own personality and some like toys and some do not, mine falls into the latter. Nevertheless, the toy’s construction is well built – won’t easily be torn apart, has just the right amount of stuffing – easy for cats to hug and kick, with some bounce back, and a variety of textures for the cat to enjoy – a burlap like top, bumpy soft middle, and a fluffy tail at the end.

We have two 3-year-old adopted girls. This looked like the perfect toy for both of them. They have several of the regular ball cat toys with the scratching pad in the middle and both love them. I put this toy in my sewing room to see if Marmalade would play with it, but alas, she proved once again to be finicky.

Snowball has been in quarantine because of an intestinal infection, and floorspace is limited in the bedroom she is confined to, but I have high hopes that she will play with it. hopefully not just in the middle of the night when she plays with the other one.

Says it in the headline. The whole massager in the middle can pop out, so I did that and replaced it with a cardboard scratcher. I can hear my cat playing with the ball in the middle of the night sometimes, so I know she’s getting use out of it.

However, the ball is easily removed — my little cat has pulled it out a few times. But, it’s bright yellow so it’s easy to find, and it goes back in easy.

The kitties really have enjoyed this birthday present! Lots of laughs to be had as they held it with their front feet and bit it, kicking it with their back feet. Our old gal that is a former feral, she is in love with this toy and rubs her head and face all over it.

Highly recommend, BUT please use supervision with young cats that like to try and eat things.

this is a good one! i’ve found it difficult to find simple kick toys that are also long and wide enough for my cat to really get a full body hold on them (she is a smaller cat tho). this one is the perfect size! when she’s feeling feral while we’re playing, she’ll go to this toy and unprompted start kicking it, biting it, and lovingly rubbing her face all over it : – ) 4 stars because you can’t refill the catnip.

and the fabric is kind of cheap/synthetic. but hey is anything truly ever perfect in this life ~.

My 13 lb cat seems to really like this toy. I’d seen him use a kicker toy once before, that my dogs ended up destroying, and he seemed to enjoy that one, so I thought I’d give it another try. The dogs still try to steal this one, but so far I’ve been able to keep the kitty toys away from them.

Although my little dude is more fond of the teaser toys on a stick, when I get tired of playing with him, he usually finds this one and amuses himself. He chews on the ‘tail’ part while kicking at the soft stuffed part.

I’ve had it about a month now, and it’s been getting some action and is holding up well – seems pretty sturdy.

I have so many Mad Cat toys, my kitty’s love them because of the Silvervine. With this toy though, they didn’t take to it as much as the other Mad Cat toys. The waffle so far isn’t anything, but they do seem to enjoy the chicken leg at least a bit.

It could just be the shape of the waffle. And they just got their new toys yesterday, so there could be a chance they will play with it. Even if a new toy isn’t played with or isn’t a hit, they really love and appreciate getting new toys in the mail or from the store.

They get happy. they have a toy box! They love their toy box. Overall I do recommend trying Mad Cats if you haven’t yet. The price is a bit much I believe, but I grab one of these as a special treat for my 3 babies once in awhile.

They have so many toy’s though. lol They also really really LOVE Yeowww! toys!.

Wow these toys are adorable, we love all the food themed ones. But, there’s something extra special about the chicken drumstick in this 2-pack of toys. My boy Cooper LOVES this drumstick with all his heart.

It’s lightweight enough that he can toss it about easily, it has just enough crinkle to get his attention, and it’s held up to several rough n tumble play sessions. Plus, who doesn’t love that happy little smile on the drumstick’s face?? I couldn’t find how to contact this company to ask them to make a bulk pack of drumsticks that I could buy.

maybe Chewy can help? Anyway, get this set of toys, you won’t regret it.

These toys are super cute, but my cats don’t really want to play with them. They love catnip toys and I was excited for them to try silvervine, but they haven’t been very interested. They seem mostly plushy so I am not sure how much of the herbal mix is actually in there.

It was worth a try and I would recommend if you’re also curious about silvervine and have cats who are less picky with toys.

Get this toy for your kitties if you have hard wood floors. Something about the little pieces of plastic skittering about makes them go crazy. They love slapping them around. The noise isn’t bothersome like some toys, but they love it.

The plastic is a little more heavy duty so I feel better about them playing with this rather than a milk jug ring. It also deters them from trying to steal pony tail holders or small things on the counter.

I hide these around the house and let them hunt for them. I will be buying more.

Fat Cat makes the best toys! My tortie loves chasing twist ties and milk caps around the house, but we don’t have have milk and bread to open for her to feed her addiction. These “crazies” have been a great option! We gave her a pack and she immediately lost all 4 in the vents, under the couches, and into whatever other magical realm cat toys go to, so we bought a 2nd pack and handed them out one at a time.

She has learned to be better about immediately losing them and will entertain herself all day with a crazie. Great buy for our lil buddy.

I am always looking for toys to captivate our kitties, who are house- bound, indoor cats. I was overly excited, to see my finicky cat; go BONKERS over these simple cat crazy “rings”! I read a review of a customer who raved over them, so I gave it a try! What an unexpected HIT these were for my finicky 5 yr old male cat! He LOVES THEM!(loses them under every piece of furniture!)- but he carries them around in his mouth, from room to room! ( so cute!) So glad I purchased them!!.

I have one of those rare cats that doesn’t care much about catnip, so most toys don’t impress him, but he certainly loves stealing my hair ties, so when I found this toy I thought I’d give it a shot.

Oliver absolutely LOVES it! He plays with it pretty much daily and it’s so cute. His back legs go crazy kicking it while he holds it in his front paws! It’s got a little jingling sound to it so of course he wants to attack it during all my work calls but it’s pretty quiet.

We call it his “scronch” and he has never loved any other toy the way he loves this thing. I’ll probably buy another one just to have on hand in case his first one gets too beat up from all his playing! Absolutely recommend it – if your cat likes hair ties, this is a must buy.

Very good toy. High quality, cute, good materials, very durable. But unfortunately my cats just weren’t that into it; at first they all wanted to play, even my 15 year old, but soon they grew bored. Such a shame.

I think it’s a very good toy that a lot of cats will love, but mine are very picky about toys and aren’t that interested in soft toys. I would still recommend it as I think it does seem like a very good quality toy, just not for my picky kitties.

I was very apprehensive about purchasing this toy in the first place, but just out of curiosity, I did so. As soon as I took it out of the package, I knew I should’ve followed my instincts and intuition, and NOT purchased it.

With all the dangling loops, elastic, etc. , it is absolutely NOT (in MY opinion) a safe toy for cats, on many levels. nor any OTHER animals, for that matter. So, I have now acquired a few extra hair-ties — which I have NO need for, but at least my Babies are safe, and enjoying their hundreds of OTHER cat-APPROPRIATE toys, perches, etc.
