IšverstiShow in original languageI own an audio integration company, using it for installs with lots of gear racks and the odd light screw jobs. I have loved this tool for so many years now, I always carry it around when I’m on jobs.

Handy to slip in a light tool bag or laptop bag, so I don’t have to bring my bigger boys with me. I absolutely love the nuanced control the gyroscope brings, but it still has plenty of torque to drive something home.

However, I am now on my 3rd one, having had 2 die on me in the last 6 months, this last one only lasted about 2-3 months. Not ok. I’m about to start the warranty process, will see how that goes, not hearing good things about the process.

I love this tool and it is indispensable to my work for light duty, but man, Dewalt!. step up the quality on this great tool!!!.

IšverstiShow in original languageWanted to love this tool, family got it for me for Christmas after I had used a friends and loved it. Worked great for maybe a month. Now when you pull the trigger it will sometimes work other times it’s just turns off and have to pull the trigger again.

Stopped using it and it just sits in my toolbox unused. Would love to actually use this product as the fine adjustment is perfect for what I wanted to use it for.

IšverstiShow in original languageI have bought power screwdrivers like this M4 from Milwaukee (and the 2. 4 volt AEG before Milwaukee bought them) for over 35 years. This screwdriver is perfect for doing electrical work like installing switches, outlets, fans, lights, etc.

Plus any assembly or disassembly work you may be doing. The key to this screwdriver is the torque control. Set it where the screw or nut tightens to the right it tightness and repeat it over and over.

It will always be the same. One battery goes for the whole day, Pop in a fresh one and put the other on the changer and you’re ready to go again. This isn’t a substitute for a drill driver, but it is great at doing what it’s designed to do.

So if your needs match it’s capabilities, you’ll completely love it. And you’ll find yourself using it all the time for the right jobs. I use my M12 drill driver for drilling and heavy screws like on a deck, I use my M4 screwdriver for light drilling, assembly, and everything else.

IšverstiShow in original languageWe have been using the M4 screwdriver line for about 11 years in our control panel shop; around 8 of them at this point and they have worked great for torquing the many components that require it in our line of work with industrial control panels.

This was a slight improvement over the older M4 model for comfort and size but the numerous lower torque settings with the clutch is what makes this M4 line great. My only complaint would be the motors all sound and torque out a little different from driver to driver.

Now I hear the M4 is being discontinued – but Milwaukee doesn’t seem to have a good replacement for this in the M12 lineup which is a shame. They should really introduce and inline M12 variant of this with slightly more torque but just as many increments – especially if they are killing off the M4 line.

The 2401-20 may come close but it’s not an M4 replacement for terminating hundreds of wires on components a day.

IšverstiShow in original languageI’m a VERY frequent user of the M4 power-screwdriver. A power screwdriver is invaluable for what I do. It works fairly well for me, but after only 2 years a lot of the lettering paint is worn off, and my boss’s cheapo Matebo has a guard for the angle-fold to stop your hand from being pinched.

I HAVE pinched my hand on this multiple times. I would really like this feature in a Milwaukee. Also, it would be even more convenient if it was changed to use M12 batteries but retained the same peak motor torque.

The M12 screwdriver does NOT have the form factor that works for our work. The drill shape makes it much too bulky. As far as I know literally no other tool uses M4 batteries, and so I have to have a charger in my box just for this one tool.

I’d love to exclusively keep M12 based devices in my mobile tool kit. Overall, The relatively low motor torque, and sensitive peak-torque sensing (numbered collar near the tip) of the current M4 works fantastic in the electronics field, or in any field with a high likelihood of stripping, over-torquing, or breaking screws.

The torque makes the M4 able to work with very small screws safely. But it also has the ability to loosen very tight screws and nuts. Even into “Bolt” territory. With either the 1st gear in the transmission or by the fact that the output shaft locks to the body so you can use the whole tool to loosen or tighten something.

Ive used the body of the tool to loosene bolts that it had no business loosening. And it’s held together like a champ. I would assume that with the right motor and transmission design it could utilize the M12 battery and retain the same features.

Or even possibly just electronically cut the 12v of the M12 to the 4v of the M4. Whether by running the M12 in parallel if the inter-cell lugs on the outside of the battery can handle tool current. Either way, this is a solid and reliable product from Milwaukee that will get the job done.

But I wouldn’t expect it to meet 100% of the premium standards that other Milwaukee tools meet nowadays.

IšverstiShow in original languageI actually picked up one of these at a big box hardware store several years back and I probably use it about as often as all my conventional screwdrivers and power drill combined.

So all the time, basically. Now it doesn’t exactly replace those tools, but it’s light and compact enough to carry around with my usual kit, and more importantly it’s perfect for certain repetitive tasks.

Such as driving long screws into plastic anchors or punching self-tappers through thin metal. In a pinch I once used it with a spade bit to cut 5/8″ holes in wood studs. The gyro control lets me get away with doing things one-handed and it’s responsive enough for applying careful amounts of torque when needed.

Just about any standard hex bit or attachment with a locking lug will work. The batteries leave something to be desired. Typically a full charge will last a working day but constant heavy use (like drilling wood studs) will kill them in just a few hours.

I acquired a spare battery to make sure I have up-time. Not cheap. They do seem to charge quickly at least. I’m still using the old driver to this day. Still works great but I’ve banged it up pretty good, so in the last year or so I’ve started nosing around for a replacement.

Locally they’re sold out but I am very pleased to have finally found some here! Batteries are also getting harder to find. It’s a unique, small form-factor 8v that DeWalt doesn’t seem keen on expanding.

Too bad, because this is hands-down my very favorite, most useful power tool.

IšverstiShow in original languageIt worked well for a while. The variable gyro-scoping was nice (yes “was”). The farther you turned the screwdriver body, the faster the drive went. To slow it down, just turn the body the other way a little bit.

Very cool. Then. It would just stop. by itself. All the time. I see in other reviews here (also homedepot. com) that this is happening to a LOT of people. What made it worse is that DeWalt sent me to the closest DeWalt service center (yes you have to pay the shipping) but they wanted $30 just to look at it.

Shipping plus $30 just to look at an $85 tool? No thanks. DeWalt don’t you have enough info to realize this is a wide-spread issue worthy of a recall or something? Happy with a lot of my DeWalt tools.

IšverstiShow in original languageI bought it new at Lowe’s and have used this for one year on my bench for mostly machine screws in a very clean environment. Light duty would describe my use. The on switch has become very finicky lately.

The light will come on but the it takes about 6 or 7 presses for the green battery level light to come on and motor to activate. I really liked the gyroscopic feature but durability is terrible on this.

I don’t think I’ll even make an effort to find the receipt for the warranty. I’ll buy another brand instead. I really can’t believe I only got a year use out of it.

IšverstiShow in original languageI bought this to help with my forearm pain so I could still stay productive. It’s a good idea on paper but in the field it doesnt work. The twist motion rarely works right, it will make a half a turn and quit.

The reamer is a great idea, but if it only makes a half a turn and stops, and you have to reset. might as well use a regular Klein reamer or screwdriver. This thing just needs a trigger and a forward/reverse switch like every other power tool.

Way to complicated then it needs to be.

IšverstiShow in original languageI bought this after watching a man use the non-reamer version on a video while making a tool box. I was going to do some other product reviews for the electrical trade at the time and thought I would try out the one with the reamer.

I expected an okay screwdriver and was less than hopeful about the reaming ability. I was in fact thoroughly impressed with both aspects. For running pipe on a day to day basis, especially in wood framing, this tool is fantastic! It will drive 1 5/8″ screws for clamps, straps, and boxes into 2×4 lumber without a problem and the reamer is more than functional.

I could get it to “bog down” on a rough cut conduit, but after a brief learning curve it was extremely useful. The battery would get me about 5-6hrs of heavy conduit reaming and mounting, but recharge time is very reasonable.

Overall, I would recommend this tool to any electrician, conduit installer, or service tech in any industry.

I carry a fully loaded tool bag so when i can conserve space with a tool like this instead of carrying an entire drill or impact it’s great! Takes up no more space than a thick screwdriver and is able to drill through sheet metal easily and even 1/8″ steel.

This tool is great because of how lightweight it is and it can be operated easily with one hand. Highly reccomended!.

IšverstiShow in original languageGreat screwdrivers! Well made and insulated for electrical work. This set includes the ECX bit which is designed for electrical screws. A standard Philips will work but the ECX is a better fit and prevents stripping.

The ECX is a screwdriver-type bit that fits the combination-type heads that are common on the screws securing electrical panels, along with other smaller electrical components, such as outlets. Note: always verify no power before doing electrical work.

IšverstiShow in original languageThese are my third set of insulated screwdrivers, the issues with the other brands was the handle grips become too smooth and slippery after just 2 or 3 years. These are still new but I feel the hand grips on the Milwaukee will last longer.

The downside of this set is it only has a large slot (common head) and it is too big to fit into some older circuit breakers. The two Robertson are the bread and the butter, the addition of a medium slot would make this a perfect kit.

It pry’s, it chisels, it pierces, it punches. As a 20 year Millwright, it is one of the most impressive tools I have used, I’ve had mine for 3 years, and it’s so far indestructable. the only this I haven’t used it for is driving screws.

The torque range is good, but having had the wiha speed e I decided to continue with the wiha brand and I’m glad I did. It’s a superb set, easy to use, adjust and swap bits in and out. With the standard driver attachment also it has an extra level of versatility.

The case with also comfortably take the speed e and the stubby which I take everywhere.

IšverstiShow in original languageI’ve been after one of these Torque screwdrivers for a long time. They have been in such demand Nation-wide, that I couldn’t find them anywhere on the internet at the competitive price which Toolstation set.

I have already used this purchase and my personal opinion is that its a great piece of kit. Why pay over £150 for another brand when Draper have made this workable tool available. Its like buying a chicken from a well known high street brand and buying the same chicken from a cheaper shop down the road.

IšverstiShow in original languageI purchased this item after searching to a torque wrench suitable for use on screws rather than heavy bolts etc. I especially liked the fact that it can be used on 1000V systems.

After purchase, I tested the driver and found it to perform very well using the supplier set of interchangeable bits. I now consider this to be a vital item in my toolkit for working on electrical connections.

This gives extra confidence and piece of mind when tightening screws on bus bars and terminals etc. Having the torque setting and positive ‘click’ really does reduce repetitive fatigue when on installations requiring lots of connection tightening.

I am sure that all the good engineers out there will agree with me when I say that its good to know that all the connections are tight before signing the job off, and this really helps to ensure that.

I only use 1000V rated tools, so this was a must for me to reduce any danger of accident. I have since purchased a spare driver just incase I lose one. Worth every penny. Hope that helps others.

IšverstiShow in original languageBought this when I was installing a new consumer unit in order not to overnighted the screws in breakers. I found the settings felt similar to the tightness I usually tightened the screws to, probably slightly less.

Good feel to the driver and the set came in a compact tool roll. So far very happy with this product.

IšverstiShow in original languageThis is better than I expected the specs say. 05-5nm but it actually registers at. 03 which was great as I needed it for very specific low torque computer screws at. 05 so could see the steps leading up to required torque.

After a lot of searching this turned out to be fantastic and a great price.
