Works well. Heats an area very quickly. Simple to operate. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is, the plastic shield around the base of the heater wont stay done up; also, it starts to cough nasty smoke on start-up when the fuel is getting low.

This is a quality heater where you can control the temperature. I use it in my 40 x 30 garage. It rapidly warms the garage and maintains 60 degrees for nearly 24 hours, with an outdoor temp of 0 degrees Fahrenheit.

It will warm to at least 78 but thats to hot.

The thermostat on goes to a low of 60 I bought it to keep my pipes from freezing. Most thermostats go to a low of 20 do not buy if you are using it for that reason

This is a fantastic little heater. I have a 24×24, non-insulated garage. This heater puts out more than enough heat to get through the north east winter comfortably. The supplied hose DOES FIT STANDARD PROPANE TANKS!! It’s reverse thread so turn it to the left to tighten it into the tank.

Turn the gas on and wait about 20 seconds before starting the heater. If the heater is started before pressure builds, you will get a small flame and cool output. When started properly this heater pumps extremely hot air with great force when set to high.

It has fantastic output even on low for those fair weather winter days. Compared to larger kerosine torpedo heaters, this thing is whisper quiet with very low fumes. I highly recommend it!.

Love this thing! I bought this to work on finishing my attached garage. I live in the northeast and it’s the middle of winter. I have a small propane tank (like for a grill) hooked up and man this thing makes the space hot! I only keep it running for 9 or 10 minutes because the space just gets too hot to work.

And I haven’t ever put it any higher than the lowest setting. For reference, the garage is a little over 500 square feet with a 10ft ceiling. It does what it’s supposed to do and it does it well. Totally worth the money.

Had it for about a month and used it a handful of times. It works great and even on the low setting pumps out tremendous warmth. Even better, it’s shockingly quiet for a forced air heater. I just leave it on low and it heats up my uninsulated garage within 5 minutes from 25*F to about 60*F.

Burns very cleanly too with a perfectly blue flame. Can say enough good things about it, it does all I hoped and more.

I’m interested in purchasing your kerosene heater but kerosene is expensive and hard to find. I’m a farmer with bulk storage of diesel and gasoline. Can the two be blended to provide a fuel for your heater? Richard.

This little guy puts out some heat! 24X32 shop 19’ walls. Partially insulated, heats up within 20 minutes. Running diesel is cheap heat too! Thermostat works good as well. Wish it had wheels or an optional caster inserts.

Just picked it up, shipped with good protection, and easy installation of handle & guard. Wish it had padded fuel tank. But still a good product.

Cordless aside this device is much more portable than my kerosene heater and i can use the propane in more locations. Its easy to light turn the fan on and hold down the propane safety switch valve until it lights.

We took this with us and put it in our 10×10 4 walled canopy for our churches trunk or treat trail. We put up 3 walls as it was down in the low 40s my wife and i were cozy warm while others were bundled up freezing.

I used 6amp hour flexvolt 60v max battery after 2 hours of use it was still full i believe the run time for this size battery indicates close to 20 hours. Only con i see is This device does not have a thermostat just an adjustable gas valve.

For my uses i dont think this will ever be a problem but i could see how some contractors or others might like that featur.

As an excavator, I work outside in all weather. The DeWalt 20V Max Cordless Propane Forced Air Heater is a great addition to tools I keep handy for the winter months working outside. It is portable and does not require electric to operate.

On those cold days in Pennsylvania, it always gathers a crowd when we are working outside and it helps keep the machines running. Glad I purchased this heater.

I honestly couldn’t believe it. I bought this to “take the bite off” in my 60 x 40 shed. I have no power yet, and i was hoping to work a little in the cold. It was 15 to 20 degrees outside, I turned it on high 30 min later it was 80 degrees.

The shed is insulated, and when it gets colder who knows. But it worked way better than I thought it would.

Bought it,drove 35 miles home to find that the fuel pressure gage was broken off. It is made with a PLASTIC fitting. The fuel adjustment screw is also plastic. What happens to plastic when it is -20F outside? It gets brittle, if you try to adjuat it (per the manual) the plug slot will break.

Maybe this design will work in Florida, buy I advise against use in the northern states. Cheaply made, Mr Heater saves. 25 cents using plastic. This is the second Mr Heater I have purchased, they are junk.

Nice heater for the money! Easy to handle,even full of fuel! I have been using #2 diesel and has worked great. For a small work area or heating up something outside to get it to start in the cold it works great! Would buy another in a heart beat!.

Runs very efficient on kerosene with very little odor. The only thing I don’t care for is when you are carrying the heater around, kerosene spills out the air vent on the tank cap.

Works well is light weight and compact. Only drawback is it cuts out occasionally probably due to a thermal break designed into it but not hard to light again. It sucks the propane on the high setting but that’s expected for a 90K btu heater.

Seems well built. Heats uninsulated two stall garage well. Easy to use, but need to start the heater as instructed (turn on gas, plug unit in, let run for 20 seconds, hit starter button). Otherwise I did not get good gas flow from the tank I used,.

I’ve trusted the DeWalt name for many years, and I’ve neve had any of their products let me down. Controls are simple and easy to use. I haven’t used the heater yet but I know it’s up to the task. I’m new to Mills Fleet Farm but both surprised and impressed.

I can only get it to heat 30 degrees hotter that what theoutside temp is. When left on for a few hours. Its a small unit that works as it should. I should have gotten the next size bigger but I got it because of the price.

It does whats its suppose to but my 25×26 garage with no insulation is just to big for the heater to run you out. It was 10 degrees the last few days and the hottest I could make it inside was 45 Concrete floor and metal walls.

Not to bad for a little cheap heater Running on kerosene as well. It also works on diesel but I couldnt handle the fumes.

being a retired plumber I have used these type heaters to unthaw frozen water lines and this one I use to unthaw my rv holding tank at my camp during the mi winters. works great even without underpinning.

It was a great purchase. I used it in a house im rewiring that doesn’t have heat yet and after about a half hour, I was working in a t-shirt. The outside temperature was around 28 degrees.

Great heater! I would have given it 5 stars except for the fact that it arrived with the top louver broken off, but that’s of little consequence. The louvers twist off easily, so don’t adjust them much.

Hanging the heater was very simple. It operates perfectly, controlling the temperature very precisely. Turns on when the temperature is one degree below setpoint; shuts off one degree above. My garage is approximately 370 square feet, and is fully insulated.

The heater controls the temperature easily at 60F when the outside temperature is 15F. Can be programmed to shut off automatically after 1-9 hours of operation, or can be left on to run as long as you want.

Bought 2-units. 1st one fired up and worked good like all the others of this style I have bought. 2nd one wouldn’t lite. Called phone# that is pretty much listed everywhere, even on google reviews. They answered.

Had us try a couple more times. Then said we could return it to store or they could send a gas valve. So I had my guy disconnect the unit from gas line & hook up to gas line of working unit & it fired right up and worked fine.

Other tech noted that should hear an audible “click” from dish shaped regulator on gas line at propane tank when valve was openned. Didn’t here that from the supply line/regulator of non-working unit.

Tech then adjusted & reconnected attachment at propane tank to regulator. Set it to different, more horizontal position. The unit worked normal and am happy. So a lot of these complaints about “wont lite” (I read them all before purchasing) are possibly install problems or line/regulator issues ? Tech support should be aware & advise customers of this when calling with “won’t lite” type issue.

This unit replaces the same model I purchased six years ago. Mud wasps filled the gas valve on my old unit. The issue with the new unit is a fading flame when increasing a call for propane. Dial gets to 2.

5 on the setting and while advancing the dial, the flame contracts. If I keep turning the dial the flame goes out. Once I surpass that dead spot, it starts to roar again. When the heater functions properly, it works well.

I liked my first one enough to by a second one. My rating is more reflective of tech support than it is of the product. A call to tech support and two emails with videos attached, showing the issue has left me hearing crickets… If you buy one of these and it works, you should be happy with it.

Puts out a good amount of heat and is super easy to use. I kind of wish it had an on/off switch instead of having to unplug it each time, but still works great for heating up my garage. It has an electronic ignition, so no worries about getting things lit off.

If also has a thermocouple that will turn off the gas if there’s no flame, so it should be good for using it outside too. The hose it uses has male threads on each end, so it will work on any size propane tank.

I’ve used it with 20lb tanks, but mostly use it with 100lb tanks I have. The hose it provides is around 6′ long, so I put the tank outside my roll-up door and put the heater just on the inside of the door.

It can be bad news putting the propane tanks on the inside if you don’t understand the thermal expansion of the propane due to temperature.

On/Off switch for the fan no longer works after using the unit 4 times. Really bad workmanship on the switch itself. It just doesn’t turn on/off any more with very little use. I will be returning the device for a replacement, hoping I get no pushback from Blaine’s and/or DeWalt.

Other than the switch, for the 4 times I used it I was pleased with the heat it produced. It was relatively quiet as well. You can have a conversation while the unit is on. Battery capability also a big plus if you don’t have a cable for plug in.

At this point, however, I would not recommend it because without a working fan switch, the unit is a paperweight and non-functional.

So far, so good. This unit works pretty much as expected. The igniter system Is quite clever, but I’m concerned with longevity. Mostly because I don’t understand exactly how it works. There are basically two hear settings – high and low.

The high setting is loud, but it heats up my two car garage space in very little time. Even the low setting heats up my immediate work area fast enough. I like it much better than my old kerosene heater.

I bought this to heat our uninsulated garage in Minnesota. It very quickly gets the space to working temperatures, even when it is below zero outside. The batteries will last most of the day. It is a bit loud, but works as advertised.

I had an old, bigger one to use to warm the water pipes and keep them from freezing when the temps go below zero. It was old and unsafe and I wanted a better one. I only run it for short times, when it’s very cold, and write down the time, it keep track of how much fuel is used.

(my old one didn’t have a fuel gauge) this one says on the gauge “full (5 gals) will run 9 hours”, So far, it has run out at 5 hours. It has an auto shut off when this happens (my old one didn’t) Maybe it’s running it short times, off and on that uses more, and if it ran straight without stopping it would run 9 hours ? It does give off heat, and warms up a space fast, and doesn’t make a huge noise, but people should be prepared to not get 9 hours on a full tank.

Also, when I bought this in early Dec 2021 it was $200 less than it is now. If I had reviewed it right after getting it, I would have said “good deal for the price” but that doesn’t apply now. l I know, everything is going up.

I like the Dyna-Glo brand because they are pretty trouble free. This particular unit is economical to run for my application. I use it to heat up a body shop quickly in the morning until the overhead gas unit can take over.

Make sure when you fill the tank to use a fine strainer so no dirt or particles get into tank. This is true of any kerosene heater because there is no real way to clean the tank. The heater starts up every time cleanly and the thermostat seems to work great.

The Walmart price and delivery time was way better than all other vendors. This unit will easily heat up a 3-4 door garage. Highly recommend this heater.

What a disaster this thing is. I don’t know if it was damaged in shipping or what but: I opened the box and everything looked fine, no damage visible to the heater. I read the instructions. I put a bit over 4 gallons of diesel in the tank.

I put the cap on. Immediately fuel began spitting out of the small vent hole in the cap. After a few seconds the spitting fuel stopped. I touched the handle and fuel again began spitting out of the vent.

I tried to move the heater but even more fuel came out. This time it took maybe 20 seconds before the fuel stopped. I tried to move it again and even more fuel came out. I waited until it stopped, then VERY carefully, so as not to disturb the heater, cleaned the spilled fuel off the sides and from around the cap.

I then plugged it in. I turned it on. The fan came on and it sprayed diesel out the front and diesel dripped out the back. I shut it off and called customer support. I explained what had happened but the rep (who I could hardly understand) had no clue what to do.

I told her the instructions said the tank held 5 gallons and I put in 4 and fuel was spitting out the vent. She said something that sounded like “It has 5 gallon capacity and you can put in 3. 8 gallons.

” I asked what that means and she said she would have to check and call me back. So obviously calling this company’s customer support is not the way to go. So it’s going back to Sams Club. I had to pump the diesel out which just added to the frustration.

I bought this to warm up our two car garage which also doubles as a home gym. It’s very simple design with just an electric fan, push button valve, and an ignitor, which I hope will mean that it will last a long time.

Since we use it on a daily basis in the winter, we purchased a GasOne 50120 Propane Gauge to function as a POL to QCC adapter. It makes life easier when disconnecting and reconnecting the tank, as well as serving as a quick indicator for pressure in the line.

I forgot to turn on the fan first before lighting it up, and it automatically cut off the gas when it got too hot. Part of the label melted on the unit housing, and as a result, now serves as a reminder to plug it in before lighting.

The first weekend it worked perfectly. The next weekend the regulator didn’t work and it melted down the stickers and started melting down the handle. Called the manufacturer, they responded like a champ.

FedEx is picking it up today and they will be sending another one right away. So the responses was great from the company but what the heck. Glad the weather is warmer and we won’t need it till next weekend.

Hopefully the replacement will be here to assist us. We will see.

Nice and portable. Not too loud. Good for my 700 sq ft garage. Wish there was a fan control – it comes on when you plug it in and turns off when you unplug. A variable heat control would be great too.

Would buy again.

I use this to heat my 1000 square foot shop. There is a noticeable difference within 20 mins or so, and after a couple hours the it’s getting warm. My shop isn’t insulated, and has a high ceiling, so I’m impressed with it’s performance so far.

(have about 15 hours of use on it). The ignition system doesn’t always ignite the flame right away, but I won’t let that effect my rating, because I have yet to own/use something with an ignition system that works perfect every time.

Very Very disapointed. Bought it in the summer 3 years ago. When winter came. Tried it in my garage. Will not light. Have to manually start it. Using a fire stick. Even in warm weather. Will start then shut off immediately.

Once started. It works well. Flame therfore heat gas consuption can be varied. Still use it. But if the RETURN period had not ended. Would have pressed. The RETURN BUTTON. The inconvenience. Of having to buy another one at HD.

Made in China. Till I figured out a way to safely start the flame on this USA Unit. ANGERED me. Shame. A chinese copy is better than the USA made. Name ought to be. ProCon.

I am giving it 3 stars because when it worked it was great. Used it for about a week and now the unit is not working. My husband thinks it is the regulator that has failed.

As much as I wanted it to work unfortunately it did not. Heater would be great if it would just ignite. Tried two different propane tanks to verify that wasn’t the issue. The units fan was working properly and it was getting fuel just no spark! Sending it back today :(.

Used for Football Sideline warming stations. Much easy to work with/transport than large kerosene heaters. The self contained battery is also great as we don’t need to bring generators. Used about a half tank of a full 20lb propane tank for the game.

The protective circuitry prevented the heater from working. Perhaps the redesign needs to be resigned. Adding idiot proof protection is often the downfall of an otherwise great product. That appears to be the situation with the Hero heater.

Just purchased today have been looking for a heater for 3-car garage for as needed basis (shop work ect). Have traditional kerosene heater which works well but takes time (hour or so depending on outdoor temp) to warm up the garage to tolerable level.

Bought this heater and wow can’t believe how quickly things warm up. A little heavy with 5 gallons of diesel in the tank but certainly manageable. And honestly minimal exhaust odor compared to older models my friends had growing up (at least 15 years ago).

Price seemed reasonable compared to other options. Can’t speak on longevity yet can certainly update down the road.

This thing flat worked for what I needed it for but it is loud. This is my first forced air heater so they probably are all like that but it sounds like a jet engine. Also, it got pretty expensive to run on the kerosene, didn’t quite last as long as I thought it would have.

But it would heat up my entire garage in about 2-3 minutes, I’d turn it on every 15 minutes or so to warm back up. After going through two buckets of kerosene I switched to diesel and ventilated the area better.

Also, this thing will cut off when it gets low on fuel, not empty. I’d tilt the hole thing over to get it to get the last of the kerosene, then it ran for another 20 minutes or more. Only used during this past cold season and no major issues, I think it’s better used outdoors or well ventilated buildings/garage with diesel for the fuel.

Only recommend for certain applications.

What an improvement over my old radiant kerosene heater. The thermostat means it turns on only when needed, it sounds like a jet engine, so the fact it only runs for a few minutes to warm the whole garage for about 45 minutes is welcome.

It does have a little bit of a kerosene smell, but nothing that opening a bay door for a few minutes when I enter doesn’t fix. When I am in the shop I bump it up 10 degrees, because there is a 20 degree sway.

So I set it at 50 when I am away, which means it heats to ~60 then cools to ~40 before kicking on. It took a few days of stripping off layers when I had it set to 75 while I was in there to figure this out.

Overall I and my tools are very happy with the purchase.

Great little unit. Heats up the 36 x 48 garage in under an hour from 40 degrees to 70, then you can turn it down and it keeps it toasty. I add a few box fans to get the air moving or the heat sits at the top of the building.

It is a little loud but once the temp is high enough I can turn it off and use my smaller heaters to maintain the temperature. It is nice to heat it up quickly.

Should of got a smaller model. Works too good. Side note it eats propane . Small , not insulated wood shed problems.

I have used various heaters to heat a variety of enclosed but uninsulated spaces and this has been the best by far. I have only encountered one issue which had to do with the unit refusing to stay lit after about 2-3 months use.

The issue was a contact on the solenoid that delivers the gas to the nozzle. I called Customer Service and was walked through the simple procedure to fix the issue (Just had to sand the contact) and I was back up and running.

I have had the heater for two years and have only had to do that twice. Other than that is a very efficient tool for heating a large space to workable conditions if you get the right size. I would recommend getting a 40 lbs.

propane tank but then again I work and live in VT and need it to take more than the edge off the cold some days. I would highly recommend you also buy a CO2 monitor “just in case” but mine hasn’t even registered a change in the two years I have run this unit.

This might be a duplicate, but I bought this as a 2019 Christmas gift for myself. Went to fire it up Christmas eve to make sure it worked & was sadly disappointed when the igniter wouldn’t even work.

I could smell LPG so I know the gas valve was opening, I could get a spark about once in every 8-10 trys with the piezo igniter. It never did light. It’s going back for another brand that advertises an electronic ignition.

Had to replace a different brand after only one season because it never did a very good job of heating my garage and then quit all together. My new DeWalt does a much better job overall and does it using less fuel.

Also a lot more quietly. Very happy with this unit. Always thought DeWalt made superior products; should have followed my instinct in the first place.

Bought this heater for our 2-1/2 car insulated garage here in cold Western New York. Having a party in our garage in December and needed a little extra heat. Fired the heater up a few times prior to our party and it heated the place up in 15 minutes.

Will be sure to keep a window cracked while burning it. Only negative I have is that it is a bit noisy when running.

I bought this to heat a room in my home because it heated up to 700sq ft. unfortunately, I can not use it because when I purchased it the plug was a nema #6 30p which I was unaware of at the time of purchase because it is not in the description.

this should be in the description for those who are not electricians and are just common users. so please be aware that this is not the normal 3 prong household plug.

What works ? It puts out heat ! What doesn’t work is the fact that it does not (cycle) on & off like a heater should. IT runs all the time and i mean all the time ! By that i mean you are able to turn down the temperature but that’s it ! it runs constantly and does not shut off unless you physically turn the switch off.

My other heater once the garage reached the set temp it would automatically shut off until it needed to come back on again and so on all thru the nite thus saving me money on the electric bill because the temp stayed current ! That being said once i get my other heater repaired I will be putting it back in service and the (dura heat) I will put it away.

For this feature alone not cycling on & off is why i gave it only 3-stars.

Wonderful heater for my 2 car garage. Saw some complaints about the heater automatically switching from high to low, so I just set a couple degrees above my desired set point to get the temperature I desired.

Would definitely recommend.

I just bot this Nov 26/21,says some assembly required,well its just the handle and the extension cord wrapper upper! I never thot to buy 5 gals if kerosene at CT,before u buy this price shop 5 galons of kerosene as it burns about that in a day,ull definitely burn deisel fuel!well I went back fort francis,ontario, CT does not have 5 gal cans of K-1 kerosene!I just asked for kerosene,young clerk looked on his stock pc,said none,later found a 4 litter jug (1 gal).

the price was equivalent to 2 football sized pizzas!get me? If you buy this heater,CT price for 1 gal of kerosene is wow way too expensive bucks! True value here just quoted me big bucks for 5 gallons of kerosene! or more bucks for about a gal or 26 ish for 8 litres(forgot exact amount,but close to) This is one expensive little heater to run,and you really need a good reason to heat up a garage or construction project @big bucks a day! Using kerosene! that’s going to be expensive to fill and the label says you get 8 hours from 1 :18 litter tank! Says it can run on #1 or #2 diesel, or jet fuel,but in Canada they banned the sake of het fuel to the public,it used to be a high octane gas,but it’s now a high grade kerosene, but what the description doesn’t mention ,is they don’t suggest using off road deisel(maybe a tax thing,cuz I bought 20bux worth of marked diesel,got 13.

The instructions say to use k-1 kerosene below 23 degrees Fahrenheit (-3c)!it works on deisel,so forget kerosene, way too expensive unless yur desperate to work in a cold place! Once I opened it,there’s a big red stop sign,don’t take back to store! why not? It fires up on marked diesel,kerosene prices are way to expensive! It does run on off road,marked diesel,that’s a lot cheaper! I read the instructions,just so you all know,it’s designed for construction projects wheres there’s at least a 3 foot Sq opening letting in fresh air,not for enclosed areas like warming up your home,which is what I bot it for as a temporary solution,when it gets in the minus 20s! it mentions having it cleaned and serviced once every season,but cleaning it will be a task,ie,cleaning the fan blades will require some disassembly, it mentions a thermistor,but shows no picture of it or its location.

If your fixing your truck or whatever in a cold garage,if it will run on untaxed diesel great 25bux a day versus 92bux a day!,if not,it’s to expensive to run! I might return it or after I use it sell it for 3/4 of my purchase price! And Canadian tires policy prevents me from quoting current market price for kerosene or deisel.

Heats uninsulated 24×26 concrete block garage very fast. I purchased a carbon monoxide detector for safety reasons while operating, it has not registered any co2 while operating heater. It averages about 10 degrees for 10 minutes of run time when outside temperature is on the mid 20s.

I am very happy with this purchase. I used to run 2 electric plug in heaters, and 2 wicked kerosene heaters, this heater by far heats garage so much faster, and no kerosene odor. What used to take 6 hours to reach 60 degrees now takes 45 minutes.

Purchased this a few weeks ago while it was in sale, and boy, am I glad I did. I have an insulated, but not heated 3+ car garage in Cambridge, ON. I just changed the oil in my van and it was so awesome to work in 20C temperatur instead of the 4C and rainy outside! The heater generates a formidable fan-forced heat, and brought the entire garage up to temperature in minutes; and kept it there for the hour and a half I spent puttering around in there by cycling on and off a few times.

I used diesel fuel to run it and found absolutely no smell. The advantage to this is that diesel is far cheaper than kerosene, so I recommend it for anyone with a disposition for saving money. The heater is rather loud while running, but it’s the price for comfort.

Also,it hardly used any diesel for the time I used it, so I figure it’s the most economical way to heat a garage: Heat it when you use it only. Overall, I strongly recommend this heater.

Arrived on time. , but without the feet and without the hose and regulator. Used the phone number on the box to contact the company. Four hour wait time. Looked up the number of the company and was given a forty minute wait time.

Waited one hour and still no help. Finally called Tractor Supply and promptly talked to a real person. She resolved my problem by sending a new unit. That one arrived in 2 days. Feet and hose were in the box, but had the wrong manual.

Very happy with the people at Tractor supply. People at ProCom not so much.
