18 Best Torch Lighter For Dabs (2023 Updated)

This isn’t just a lighter, it’s a mini torch. When stuck out in in below zero temps (used down to -20F) and after getting dunked in a river in the Arctic, this is the only lighter that would work EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Admittedly it had to be kept in an inside pocket but it was the only one that worked. This thing is a life saver. Since it’s also a torch, it was also effective at melting ice off of snow machine hitches.

I bought this to give as gifts for the survival kit for five of my closest friends after experiencing its reliability and usefulness.

A couple years ago, I bought a Soto XT Torch from REI. I used it a couple of times, and it worked well. Recently, when I went to use it, it didn’t work — no gas flow, no light. (I’m near sea level, so it is not an altitude issue.

) I contacted Soto Customer Service, and they promptly shipped me a new one. Wow, what great customer service. As to the reviews here that complain these torches don’t work at high altitude (above 5,000′), in all fairness, the Soto packaging makes that very clear.

Really with out a doubt the best bug out everywhere all purpose lighter I’ve ever found. Over the years I’ve had many lighters and just realize how much waste over time there has been. Now I’ve found I feel one of the best Refillable lighters on the planet, because it just plain works.

My wife has used five lighters to my refillable which is still half after lighting up my life with BBQ and much much more. I like it and feel since it is refillable it is very more environment friendly than all those thousands that get tossed every day.

Im a 4th yr apprentice. i went from a hd bernzomatic to this bad boy. moving on up :). The power of the flame is superior than what im used to. my fittings heat uo evenly and quickly. ive soldered up to 1 1/2 cooper and ball valves so far.

holding up great. i did buy the bernzomatic extension hose for greater flexibility in tight spots or areas in between studs. works great like this. #unionproud.

You will have gas too, if you want these to work more than twice out of box. These are neat torch lighters and look great, they work perfect, after you fill them. Which is no problem really, because it no doubt save shipping expense and initial cost, $0.

60 each for a torch is a great buy for a really nice torch. Fast, fast shipping, very masculine and useful lighter that really works perfect. Face it, you are going to have gas on hand anyway for a refillable lighter.

I buy By the hundreds to pass out to friends, they love them too, but I refill every single one first. Just enough gas in them to factory QC test, never a reject in hundreds, one weak battery though, led very handy, 1 weak battery in hundreds is acceptable.

I love this product and will continue to buy them! However, I wish this product didnt click so loud bc I get up at all hrs of the night sometimes and I smoke and I light my candles and Im so afraid of disturbing my husband and kids!! Other than that, very nice work guys!! Keep up the great work!!.

This is an awesome lighter. It has a lock on it so kids can’t ignite it. Wind proof and you get a bottle of butane with it. The butane seems to last forever I’ve used this a lot and there’s only a drop of butane used.

Love these little guys; wore my old one out, hence buying a replacement. I don’t bother with the refillable tank; scripto or similarly shaped disposable lighters work fine. Just check them before buying; if one makes a flame 1.

Very Happy with the torch, but the the refillable cartridge will not hold butane. If butane is put in it the torch is usable for a short time only. The torch has a hotter, stronger flame when using the refillable cartridge.

Hoping that customer service will send a replacement cartridge. Still satisfied with the torch.

I would have given 5 stars but the “fuel cell” that had to come empty USPS reg. Had a leak so I went down and bought 3 cheap lighters for a buck and they work great. A Tip you have to adjust the flame control up or down till it’s right then it lights up fine.

This is a great lighter. It lights every time, I like the way it fits in the hand, I even really like the small clear panel in the middle, so you can see the butane level in the lighter. All this and a lifetime warranty.

It can’t be beat. I even like the color better than I thought I would. The lighter I received looked a lot better in person than it did on-line. The actual color was really cool. The picture on the website looks a little cheesy on my monitor.

This is a great lighter for camping due to the length of the neck. The neck is very flexible and can precisely position the heat in any direction, so you don’t run the risk of burning your fingers. What makes it especially nice its being wind-resistant and being dual-flamed provides a reliable light.

The slim nozzle makes it easily fit into the opening of lanterns, grills and deep welled candles. Its made of a durable metal construction, and has a rubberized flat back to insure the lighter won’t roll away when you place it on a table, and has a child-resistant safety button to prevent any accidents.

On the bottom of the lighter is a adjustable flame dial to let you optimize the flame, a nice clip to hang the lighter with, and the valve for filling it. This lighter uses butane fuel and since I already had a container on hand, I filled it as instructed.

I found it lights very easily but when I tried adjusting the flame, turning the dial from high to low, made no difference at all? Now that may be my fault as I learned later, that Zippo recommends using Zippo Premium butane in there lighters.

So when it needs to be refilled I’ll try using there brand and see if it makes a difference!.

Literally the worst torch I’ve owned. I had a small This Thing Rips! torch for 3 years and when it stopped working eventually, I got this pile of trash. 4 months later, it spews butane out the bottom until empty.

I’ve never had a torch so bad that it didn’t even last half a year. Mine have all gone at least 1 year no problem. The good reviews are probably bots lol.

My first fill up seemed to cause the flame to be maxed out with almost no adjustment. This was solved after burning through some butane as now the flame has proper adjustment and it’s just beautiful.

I wasn’t expecting it to be so much more powerful torches this style. This thing is a b e a s t. Yet at its low setting it’s fairly quiet which makes it pretty much perfect. Might have been able to bleed the tank to solve that early issue or it just needed a short break in.

Either way I don’t see it as a negative and just a note for others who might experience the same.

I used this torch for the first time today to solder sterling silver and copper bangles. I bought this because my other torch worked for rings and small pieces but didn’t get hot enough for larger pieces.

The Big Shot is comfortable to hold. It is easy to light and to adjust the flame. I did notice it sputtering at times, don’t know why. Also it seemed to run out of fuel pretty quickly. I filled it yesterday and didn’t use it until today, so I hope it’s not leaking.

I’ll find out tomorrow if I have to fill it again. Also, I noticed that the domed area between the nozzle and the tank becomes pretty warm during use. Overall this seems to be a good torch, it works well for soldering bangle bracelets.

This is a great little item to have in a tool box. I don’t care too much for the hold device. One thumb to disengage the lock and another to engage the hold open mechanism. Just awkward. Otherwise easy to handle and the heat is ideal for quick solders without burning all the insulation off a wire.

Does not generated nearly enough heat for soldering. I imagine its because the solder attachment is way too long. Only use this for sparking up your herb or toasting your crem brule because its useless for anything else.

I use this torch for everything, lighting candles, camp fires and so on. I just used it today to sweat some copper pipe together for a shower/tub application. Its awesome!!

I have bought 2 of these, one a month or so ago and another recently. The first one lasted a week before it started hissing butane out of the fill valve. And now the newest one is doing the same thing.

Now I have 2 of them that wont hold butane for more than an hour. Ice builds up on the valves. Dangerous.

The torch doesnt hold fluid; butane fizzes out as soon when attempting to refill.

I previously had purchased Scorch triple torch lighters but they did not hold up. I smoke 1 cigar a day and with the last Scorch (purchased 2 in a little over 2 years) about 30 days past the warranty (problem started while warranty was enforce) it would not light (ignite), I contacted the authorized retailer on Amazon as well as the manufacturer with no response from either.

I did a Google search and this lighter showed up as a “best value” and a good product. I received it in a timely fashion, tried it last night and it’s great so far. It does have a manual open lid (Scorch was automatic) but that’s no problem for me.

I would recommend this lighter. UPDATE 03/27/20 I have been using this lighter daily since 03/17 and it’s a great lighter. Besides value I believe the quality is there as well.

This lighter is very inexpensive and works flawlessly. It’s a highly rated lighter in the cigar community. It fits 3 major categories when selecting a cigar lighter: function, price and reliability. I would definitely recommend purchasing this item.

This is the second Allume Double Jet lighter I have owned. I’ll take a little bit better care of this one, but after 6 years of pocket carry & the being used on heat shrink tubing in tight quarters many times over it was time to replace it.

The best feature this lighter has is the trigger mechanism. When you squeeze the firing lever on the side it also opens the access port to the jets, but it only operates if the lighter is right side up.

If held upside down, it will not fire. It doubles as a safety for when refueling, and when its in your pocket the cover over the jets keeps lint and other junk from getting clogged in the jets. Very well designed and well built.

The lighter was difficult to fuel. Used XIKAR butane; but, excessive fuel used. Most wasted. Seems like fuel valve is too small. Now spark is not functioning. I’m filing a Service Request with XIKAR.

Having owned a Xikar Allume Double lighter I knew what I was getting myself into in terms of build quality. This triple torch lighter is an absolute tank! It’s the perfect size for a table lighter that can also be thrown in a pocket for a herf with your buddies.

It holds a ton of butane, has a very easy to use adjustment wheel for its flame, and has a solid ignition trigger on the side. This is all anyone could ever need in a lighter.

I use my torch frequently. I’ve had a bunch of torch lighters before and after a very short time they’d all stop working. A friend gave me this torch and it’s STILL working tho the flint I think may be starting to go out but it’s last like 5x longer than any other torch I’ve tried.

Im in awe. Im so glad I was able to find it online. Yall will see me again! I definitely want a back up just in case. Love it!!!! I hope they got a pink one.

This is my husband’s favorite lighter so I ordered him 3, the lighter produces a strong flame & works well in windy conditions!

Picked one up about 2 years back and still working perfectly with near daily use

So, I purchased this Micro Torch to heat shrink some tubing after my “name brand” torch died. I quickly figured out that the safety HAD to come off! Some side-cut pliers made easy work of that issue.

Then I learned that in order for mine to light every single time, the fuel had to be on the lowest setting and the air mixture set to wide open! Mine is awesome! Of course, I hope all of the negative reviews that say “Would not light” figured out that it was empty out of the package.

Mine was anyway. It’s been the best mini torch I have ever owned and I burn minimum 1 can of butane a month while plumbing, wiring, and starting fires around the farm.

Very disappointed with this product. At $30, it was the most expensive lighter I ever bought and I gave it as a gift. They took it to use on a camping trip and I found it a few months later in the garbage can.

Charged it up to use myself and immediately after turning it on, it lit one time and that was it. It was dead after one attempt. What is this lighter good for? If you dont have an outlet with you- you are just out of luck.

Worst product ever! Buy a whole case of bics instead for the same price.

Despite reviews that it doesn’t hold a charge and only last a few lights I bought this item. Here’s the deal, it does hold a charge, but a few tips. don’t over charge it! I use a Droid turbo charger for it, it charges from empty to full in about 10mins, pay attention, when the charger blue light stops blinking and goes solid disconnect it fast.

There’s an on and off switch and if you don’t turn it off after every light yes the charge won’t last long but duh that’s expected. So a lot of negative reviews on this device pretty much comes from people that don’t know how to maintain a battery.

If you turn off after every light it will last you over a day or two or more for sure and for 10mins of charge that’s pretty good. Also make sure you drain the battery all the way before your next charge.

It’s a cool lighter and works perfect no complaints at all. One strange thing no one seems to have mentioned is that it makes high pitch noise when you light it. Like something only a dog would hear or me apparently lol lastly keep it under the 8second time frame for lights, I usually do 3-5 second pulses.

Well after seeing the Atomic Lighter on TV, I had to try one. Well after it arrived fast & I charged it per instructions. I got about 30 lights & it needed a re charge. OK, Its new & I figured it will take a good charge after a few uses.

Well the best this lighter can do is between 50 – 60 lights & it needs re charged. YES I counted! I had to buy a USB AC adaptor to charged it in a wall socket (Yes was shown on TV, but NOT included) & immediately removed it from charge upon it completing the charge cycle.

Well that’s a bit short of the 100s of lights they say this lighter will provide. As another said: You have to turn it off in between uses, well I did that & still only got 60ish lights until it needed recharged, so much for that method! Its a nice lighter, well made, a bit heavier that standard lighters of this size, but its more of a novelty item than a total replacement for fuel filled lighters.

3 Stars because it doesn’t provide the 100s of lights as stated on TV.
