20 Best Tools For Link Building (2023 Updated)

I agonised about spending the money on this, having loads of carving gouges. Turns out I should have got one years ago, even though so far I have only played about with it. Still learning the best grip, best direction of attack to avoid tear out etc, but the speed and quality of removal is amazing, compared to hand blocking out.

Obviously, I would revert to hand tools for finessing details, but it seems invaluable for initial stages. The biggest benefit for me is because you are not applying too much vari-directional pressure by not bashing away with a mallet, you do not need to grip the piece so hard in a vice, and constantly re fix as the blows loosen its grip on the irregularly shaped thing you’re carving and making everything on your too light workbench jump about and onto the floor: makes the whole work-holding nightmare of carving slightly less stressfull.

Who would have thought? It does spray chips all over you and the workshop, but then part of the point of creativity is to make yourself look like you’ve rolled in a field, right?.

Used it about 5 times so far, so too early to know if it will continue to perform well (which I say because I heard negative feedback regarding another Arbortech device, the reciprocating chisel, in which the hammer action progressively reduces the stroke).

But so far this ball gouge does what I bought it for, which was for scooping the bowl of wooden spoons and scooping small wooden bowls. It does that very nicely but I have yet to fully master the changes of angle needed when curving across the grain.

It is too early to tell how long its cutting edge will maintain its shape and sharp edge. For me as a pensioner this is a pricey item, so I can’t give it 5 stars till I know if it offers lasting usefulness without its blade losing its edge quickly.

But the design seems to work quite cleverly. I use it attached to my standard Makita 4. 5″ angle grinder.

This is the 4th carving tool out of the Arbortech range I have used (after the Woodcarver Pro-4, the TurboPlane and the TurboShaft). The Ball Gouge is a very powerful tool, especially well-suited to hollowing out bowls etc.

It’s unique shape with the circular blade removes wood very effectively. One needs to be careful not to delve deeper than intended! It produces quite a good surface when cutting with the grain. When cutting against the grain, however, its efficient wood removal can quite aggressively tear the grain.

I found it easiest to control by constantly moving the ball-head while staying quite relaxed in my wrists and shoulders (when the temptation is to be rigid and not allow much movement in order to produce a smooth surface).

520pro has made improvements in the drill by making it 1/4inch hex drive and marking the shaft with for depth adjustments that work nicely with the hole in the depth adjustment collar. 520pro does not have a vacuum attachment.

This leads to accumulation of drill shavings in the alignment area. I found the depth adjustment slipping to the next setting while tapping out the shavings between drilling’s. Also the clamp,”classic”, is small and not auto-adjustable.

I found it easier to use a trigger type clamp.

Finally!! A simple, easy to use laser level. This is also the smallest of my laser levels, smaller by far that any of the others. Just to be certain, I check this laser level against other levels. It is correct.

The laser’s red horizontal and vertical lines are easy to see in a brightly lit room, another plus. The gimble that comes with the level is easy to use and holds securely but I find I have more flexibility and versatility when i mount the level on a sturdy camera tripod.

Works fine for about five minutes then starts flashing, as if it’s too far out of level to self level. This occurred from a lessor extent when I purchased it about 2 years ago, but it is now unusable; after only infrequent use.

Bosch offered no help on this, other than to suggest I change the batteries – I have tried three different sets. And, their advice was to purchase another one.

One of the first items I bought when starting our renovations at home and has proven to be one of the handiest. The 1/4″ female thread is a good feature for mounting – I mounted it to a quick release plate for use with my camera tripod.

Have used this for literally everything from the ground up – Levelled out the yard, concrete formwork, Re-levelled the house (post & beam style foundations), deck framing, re-levelled septic & drainage pipes, framing, installing windows, siding, lighting layout, wood panelling, installing kitchen, tiling.

the list goes on and it’s still going strong after 4 years! Great value for money.

I love this tool, it is exactly what I need in my daily servicing of industrial scientific equipment. It is very versatile and 60% of it is built well. The problems are the bit holder never holds the bits well and they fall out of their holders and rattle around.

This is not from use as i never use the bits in the handle and even though I haven’t toughed them since the day I bought them, they are always loose inside and rattling around. THE BIGGEST PROBLEM is the black rubber grip on the handle.

I have owned three of these so far and each one, the rubber grip loosens up on the plastic handle and then you can no longer put the torque that you need on the screwdriver to loosen a tight screw. Perhaps if they bonded the rubber to the plastic or used a different material for the grip? Either way, it is too expensive to replace every six months because the rubber grip fails.

This driver is amazing! Shopped around and read every review site, finally came across this driver that has everything. Standard size bits, lots of them, all stored in the handle. Swivel palm rest. Compact size for hard to each areas and to make it convenient to toss in a bag.

Extendable for those hard to reach areas. And the whole shaft can come out as slip into an impact driver, great as an extension. Seriously so happy with this, use it all the time.

I love the product. It was easy to assemble and use, but the cost will probably keep me from buying another one in the near future. I am using this product for a Delta Table saw sled. The aluminum rail is perfectly straight and will help keep my back fence from warping.

I wish the track was in (2) 4 ft. lengths instead of (4) 2 ft. lengths. this gave me too many splices were the flip/production stops can stick on when sliding it over a joint. The 4 foot length would be better to control any back fence rail warp.

It took maybe 20 minutes to go over the instructions and assemble the kit. It’s very very precise. I work in a cabinet shop and there was no precise cutting system at all when I started. I bought this product and put it in and everyone in the shop is very grateful.

A while back I needed to replace my strippers, but I was not impressed with the new squared off handles of all the new models of Klein strippers. I wanted another pair, just like my old ones, and then I stumbled across these, the High viz version of my previous strippers.

I thought I’d give them a try. Doesn’t matter if I’m in an attic, crawlspace, or just inside a dimly lit house, having the glow handles is very handy! I can find them when I drop them in insulation! They glow super bright, and will glow for quite a while if left in the sunlight for a bit, and probably the only downside is of course your strippers spend most time in a dark tool bag LOL.

Very great product, wish they still offered the 11 in 1 with the glow handle! I’d buy a few!.

Klein maintained the same philosophy throughout their operation, IMO, — Simplicity. That said, this is true Klein design, nothing fancy, no extraordinary features, no exotic materials, and priced accordingly.

This is the good. The bad, is that their cutters are consistently either not as sharp as they should be, or cut too deeply for their setting. This product exemplifies those characteristics. Using the 8AWG stripper with remove plenty of stranded copper, that’s using the stranded wire cutters.

This forces me to use the 6AWG cutter, and pull like heck on it to sever the jacket to reveal all of the copper beneath. That’s truly unfortunate, and Milwaukee makes a similar product in this price range that I had considered, but decided on this one.

I would suggest any potential buyer try both, and make your decision. Finally, the grip is fine overall, but does not place your wrist in a particularly ergonomic position to provide enough leverage.

Had I not tossed out the packaging already, and used the tool fairly extensively, I probably would have returned it. Hopefully Klein can get their machines calibrated properly, so these products don’t continue to make it to the market, and they can regain their brand prestige.

Easy to read scale. Seems durable based on limited use. Rubber over molding is easy to grip. Passed six foot drop onto concrete test. Lock is smooth to operate and positively holds the tape. Decent metal belt clip.

Hook has three rivets and has horns on top side allowing it to be used underneath the object being measured. Used it to measure off a 17’ room with 12’ ceilings – no complaints. Hey, it’s a tape measure – don’t expect too much drama from it.

Claim on the package is 14’ reach “based on maximum extension of average professional user”. Apparently I’m not the average pro since I only got about 12’ extension before the tape “broke”.

After swearing and cursing for near on an hour to get a conti 5000 clincher on a rim, I threw the tyre down in disgust, went to the web, and came across this tool. I ordered one from Pushy’s and in a couple of days it arrived.

I am not kidding that within 2 minutes I had that #@%$*& conti on the rim!!! Fantastic little tool – get one, your knuckles and blood pressure will thank you.

Have used them a couple of times and they done the job of removing and joining the link on my 12 speed SRAM chain perfectly.

Yep, there are other bike chain tools for a third of the price, and then there are chain tools at double the price. For me, I shot midway and I am happy with this tool. Does it work? Yep, works great.

Used on three different bikes, from the kids cheapie to the expensive TREK. Grips chain nicely in both compression and expansion, no slipping, no pinched fingers, or fiddling with wire. Feels and looks of decent quality, not that I have a comparison, but as a mechanic, I know a bit about tools and this tool is fine for the hobbiest.

Pick yourself up one, makes the job so easy you will wonder why you didnt get one ages ago.

This one didn’t disappoint. It arrived quickly and tested it by removing the master link on my road bike and it works! This will definitely make my life easier when I remove the chain from my bikes. It has good quality and will definitely last a lifetime for a home bike mechanic.

The rubber hand grips are good and comfortable. For less than $10 and free shipping, you can’t beat that!.

Pliers with a good finish and good touch in the hand. Easy to use, 12v SRAM chain tested and works perfectly both in opening and closing the quick link. Recommendable.

I already had another vendor’s master link pliers for these Shimano quick-link master links. It did a fine job of opening the link when I changed my chain, but with a single scissor action the effort needed to pull the pliers handles apart to seat the master link was greater than I could generate and very awkward.

I had to have a helper stabilize the bike and put pressure on the cranks/chain while I used the pliers to get the quick-link to snap into place. Useless in a field situation. The Shimano tool has double jaws so that the opening action and the closing action are both in the ‘strong’ direction of your musculature: you’re always squeezing the handles together rather than squeezing to remove and pulling apart to install.

This makes it far, far easier to get the job done, and much less awkward with respect to having to handle the bike as well. They’re not perfect, and they’re a bit pricey, but the Shimano pliers are the only ones I’ve seen that do this job the best way.

This TL-CN10 chain quick link tool is a must for removing and installing the quick link onto the chain. This is the first time I’ve used it and it works wonderfully. For the installation it was much easier to have no tension in the chain as the link needs to be squeezed back together.

A clever tool.

Trying to use long nose pliers sucks. This baby does the job properly albeit $20 should be the price…

Awesome solution for riveting, The cordless portability along with the decent weight and form factor make this a versatile tool as one would expect from Milwaukee. However, I unfortunately had the pulling jaws fail and break surprisingly soon, Probably easily within the initial 200 pulls.

These are parts that naturally will wear, The only frustrating part is that the tool includes no replacement jaws- And they seem surprisingly tricky to source. None of my go-to local dealers stock them.

The downtime is highly unfortunate. Hopefully I will be able to track some down online, And have a spare set ready in the tool box to avoid future downtime. However, I regularly use dozens of Milwaukee products over years now and this is really the first time ive had any real issue with any of them.

This tool does however do a great job pulling Aviation grade Cherry rivets with a high success rate, and only costs a fraction of a pneumatic cherry puller. Im very optimistic to get mine fixed up and back to work, Easily would make a 5 star review if only I could source replacement parts quickly.

A week + of downtime over a life limited part is quite painful, especially when there’s a lot of work to be done! This seems like something that could realistically be improved on and I hope Milwaukee addresses this.

I absolutely love their products and this is the first to ever let me down in any way.

I was hesitant spending $400 (plus cost of a charger) on a rivet gun considering the cost of almost any of my other cordless high-end power tools are about 2/3’s to half that. However I had a large job ahead of me and using my pneumatic one seemed like it was going to be a headache considering running a compressor line, frequent leaks and misfires.

I also was hesitant considering every other single major brand cordless rivet gun was more than $1000 so in that comparison seemed almost too good to be true. I got to say though are use this to Riffert interior aluminum skin and a 24 foot sprinter van I want a full battery charge I am well over 150 rivets and I’m still on the first charge with no failures & quick smooth action.

The tool is very ruggedly built and comes with several different tip sizes that store under the battery. I even bought an additional battery in advance, anticipating frequent charging needs throughout a long job but haven’t touched it yet.

We’ll see how this holds up over the years but just doing this job alone it was well worth the money.

A must have for anyone trying to pull rivets. I went through 3 hand rivet tools on a single snowmobile project. This thing just laughed at the 3/16th stainless steel track rivets and installed effortlessly.

I literally was disappointed when the last one popped because I enjoyed the new tool so much. I went out on a limb as this is the first Milwaukee cordless I have purchased, and it was not cheap. I already convinced friends they need one and they do very little if any riveting.

I might go build a boat next, flex seal has nothing on this thing.

This set is just amazing. I tried the drill head to head with the Milwaukee M12 Fuel I bought recently, both of’m on full 2. 0 Ah batteries, and the results were surprising. Not just the Skil came in over the Milwaukee, a lot of times it so embarrassingly outperformed the big redhead that it made me question the whole Milwaukee thing.

For example; drilling a hole into a 2X4 piece of wood with a 1″ spade was done in 19 seconds by the Milwaukee and just 9 seconds for the Skil. The same thing when I tried the wider side of the wood, (the 4″) the Milwaukee got it done in 53 secs vs.

the Skil who did it in 32. Additionally, I had to get the Milwaukee battery on the charger first, as the Skil one lived significantly longer. On the weight, the Skil came in at 2. 14 vs. 2. 12 for the Milwaukee.

It’s a bit louder than the Mil as well as a bit bulkier, but the Skil wins your bottom line, as it is yet one of the cheapest popular 12v tools. The drill comes with a hybrid chuck, so you can insert any hex-shaped drill or driver bit without tightening the chuck, it has a strong magnet that will keep your bit from falling out.

And not to forget about the one-handed recip saw. This thing cuts and you don’t wanna mess with its power. I tried multiple materials, sizes, and cuts, I got amazed by the power and quality of this tool.

Great price,light weight, can trim and blow on one charge. I have little to medium size well maintained yard but have used trimmer on thicker taller stuff too. Haven’t had any issues as of yet but only used 3x so far.

So far so good. Love not having to pull start or mess with gas/mix etc. Two thumbs up! Only thing I would suggest is should be a battery with each piece. Have to use same battery for both tools. And batteries are lil costly.

Other than that. It’s doing the job I need it to do.

Good grip and balance. Light from base on drill so gets beyond type bit used in front! Doesn’t cost and arm and a leg to buy or get more batteries. Hello? This is where all the good designers went!.

Starting off with the drawbacks: -The shaft and bearings is aren’t the best fit. It’s not enough wobble to be a problem but it is noticeable. -The vertical adjustment is difficult to get it in exactly the right place and the numbered notched, at least for me, don’t indicate anything.

It seems more like an afterthought to add value where it doesn’t need it. Here’s what’s great about it: -I really like the fixture plate, it makes it so the options are endless when you want to set up a repeatable cope.

Unlike other notchers that only cope on one axis. -The clamp is comes with is excellent, heavier duty than the standard sliding clamps the Rhinocart comes with. -I can fixture it right solid to my fixture table in no time.

-The angle indicators are very accurate Overall a very good bang for your buck and even better than other more expensive notchers. It has a little more to be desired as most tools do but overall, definitely a good buy.

Works well. I really like the amount of adjustment available and how it’s easier to mount oddle shaped material. Notches in bends are much easier to do. It does take longer to get mounted and set up but its kind of a trade off for what else it does.

After you’ve mounted a few pieces though it goes pretty quick. Make sure you verify all the bolts are tight, some were only snug. As always summit had super fast shipping and lowest price.

This notcher has a lot of benefits at this price point. The plate allows an almost infinite alignment and clamping possibilities allowing for notches within bends and off-set, but because of that its a little awkward to load and hold the piece before you get the clamp tight, and it takes some time to set it up on center initially for the 95% of notches that are not in a bend and on-centerline.

Works good so far, but the bearings dont give me the most confidence in longevity, so we’ll have to see. Overall, in this price category, I think it has a lot of features others are lacking, and it gets 4 stars from me.

Replacement of the handle was pretty much trouble free. Looked like a quality product and was very sturdy and held up to numerous “trial fittings”. Probably could have bought the hammer new at about the same price (shipping), but this was more fun.

Dewalt. I have been a Dewalt Fan since I got married and my dad made sure I had a 4pc Dewalt Kit Jobsite Radio to Match. He wanted me to have quality tools since so was a newlywed 1st time home owner.

Dewalt has only gotten better over the last 20 years. The batteries have gotten smaller lighter but the have 60x more power. They make high quality products that preform and are super durable and quality.

It’s worth the money to have quality tools. Yeah you can buy much cheaper tools at Harbor Freight that have a “lifetime” warranty. So that means you will be spending you valuable DIY saturdays in line returning a junk power tool for a new one that will last ten minutes and once again your driving back to exchange.

Buy quality and buy Dewalt. They are the very best power tool available in my opinion.

I bought this to change summer/winter tires and rotate tires on a Honda Accord and Pilot. Was on sale so purchased to make life easier than having to use a breaker bar on every nut. First three tire it worked flawlessly and I was delighted.

Last tire, it could not release two bolts and I had to look for and dig out the breaker bar. I could lube the bolt stems perhaps but I purchased this to NOT have to do any monkeying around. I tried random bolts on the Pilot and they came off no problem, but I couldn’t shake the disappointment I felt when I could not get those two bolts off.

Returned and ordered the dcf899B (higher torque rating) from another retailer as CTire did not carry. So the first three tires were awesome and if you lube bold stems you would likely be ok for pedestrian use.

I think it would work for most this way. CT was awesome with the return.

Purchased this impact wrench to use for changing tires on our vehicles and was uncertain what to expect as far as the performance of the wrench as well as how long a battery would last. Initial impression was very good.

Using a 2Ah battery, changed all 4 tires on two cars. Worked very well, didn’t need to use a wheel wrench to start backing the lug nuts off, also the 2Ah battery was still going strong when the job was done.

Being old-school, I was reluctant to purchase the newer laser type levelers when they first came out almost two decades ago. The technology was available for use in the construction industry, however, I was a bit slow in converting over because I already had a 50 year collection of multiple sizes and types of levels.

I wasn’t ready to make the jump to this newer “Laser” technology, and so I remained with my old-school levels. But then. About 3 years ago, I started preparing for my retirement, and part of that process was to have a plan “B” in case I needed to go back to work.

My choice for plan “B” was the construction business. And so, after extensive research for the brand, and quality, of tools that I would need for this possible adventure, I decided to go with the “DeWalt” 20v MAX collection of tools due to their reliability over the years.

I was NOT disappointed! I had my eyes on DeWalt’s DW08825LG 12v 5-Spot + Green Line Laser Kit, however, being deterred by its cost, I decided to start off with more of an entry level laser, and so I chose the DW088 series of lasers.

I then went through a struggle with choosing between the Red or Green laser models. Research showed the Green laser to be a bit brighter and easier to see in daylight over the Red one, so I went with the DW088CG model.

(I also picked up a DW08801 Red laser for comparison, which is shown in the photos below). (Depending on your lighting, and the coloration of the material reflected on, both the Red & GRN lasers have their advantages over the other).

I was indirectly then attracted to the DW088 laser series because of its lower cost, (easily affordable), its small, light weight of 3. 5 lbs, (ease of portability), its use of 3 1. 5v AA batteries, (easily attainable), and its ability to mount in diverse ways; plus, it was “Self Leveling.

” It has an attached 180 degree integrated magnetic pivoting mount, which also has a 1/4″ X 20 thread on the bottom of the unit for mounting to a standard camera tripod. The magnets allow attachment to most metal objects, such as the metal drywall strip on most internal wall corners, as shown in one of my photos.

It also includes another detachable bracket that connects magnetically, and allows further mounting options such as ceiling brackets, nails, etc. and is contained within its own DeWalt molded “hard case” for protection and storage.

*** I REALLY like the DeWalt HARD cases!!! *** The DW088CG laser uses a “constant pulse” for detection with an optional DW0892G Green Line Laser Detector that allows detection up to a distance of 165′.

(Always pay attention to the fine print, which says it can achieve a range of 165′ WITH a detector), [sold separately]. The laser’s “visible” range is 100′ without the detector. I have measured this and I have achieved a distance greater than 100′, which is very significant for its intended use.

I do NOT own a detector, therefore, I am unable to verify the MAX range of the unit with the use of said detector. The Self-Leveling feature allows the unit to be “auto-corrected” within a +/- 4 degree tilting of the device without any outside adjustment.

If tilted beyond this limit, the “Out of Tilt” Range Indicator will cause the laser beam to “FLASH” until manually brought within the +/- 4 degrees of tilt, (Level/Plumb). This was a GREAT advantage for me in the use of the lasers to level and plumb the fabrication of my barn stalls, in that I did NOT have to use the cumbersome “string levels”, neither did I have to constantly “dodge” the strings that held them, along with the “re-leveling” of them every time they were run into, or an adjustment was made to a post, or such.

The first thing that I wanted to do was to check and verify its accuracy, so I setup the laser at the end of my 40′ hallway and went through the calibration procedures. (These measurements were also double checked with my “physical” levels for comparison).

Being a DeWalt product, I was expecting things to be BETTER than what was stated on the brochures, which was +/- 1/8″ at 30′. My results at 40′ as recorded in one of the photos below, was quite a bit tighter than the specifications; the Horizontal Beam, Scan Direction being 1/16th”, the Horizontal Beam, Pitch Direction being 1/32nd”, and the Vertical Beam at 12′ was 1/16th”.

All of these results far exceeded the specification requirements of the product, as recorded within the manual. (I did notice, however, that the printed manual included with my 1st laser, was now replaced with only a digital version for my 2nd laser).

[Ouch!] There are actually two separate lasers in this product; one for the vertical plane, and one for the horizontal plane. The On/Off switches are located on the left side of the unit and allow them to be turned On/Off independently of each other, giving the user the ability to use either one, leaving the other laser turned off, and preserving the battery’s EOL, (End Of Life), until needed.

It has “Battery Low Voltage” detection, along with a “Battery Low” indicator that “flashes” when low voltage, <25% of charge, is detected, and is located next to the On/Off switches for the lasers. I cannot verify the continual "run-time" of the batteries, due to my turning them off when not making measurements, however, I used them, in my opinion, quite extensively before needing to change the batteries.

**** BTW – I NEVER leave the batteries in ANY of my battery operated tools. A faulty and/or corroded battery can cause extensive damage, or force an expensive replacement. **** The uses for this tool is well beyond my initial perception over the older Traditional Levels and String Plumb Bob.

I can display the laser beam across the whole room at one time and NOT have to constantly move it as I work on different pieces of the project. Cabinetry hanging, wall/Joist/rafter alignment, floor tiling, ceiling tiling, hanging lights, and especially ceramic back-splash alignment, and electrical outlet alignment to keep everything square/level/plumb.

Wow! Just think what I could accomplish if I had the DW08825LG 12v 5-Spot + Green Line Laser Kit model and one of the detectors! The Dewalt DW088CG Self-Leveling Cross-Line GREEN Laser is listed as a Class 2 laser having.

I’m very impressed with this Dewalt cross laser device. I have a red crossline laser from another manufacturer and based on its performance my perception for these devices was a “nice to have toy”, but boy I was wrong, this green line laser is miles better than the red laser, I can put the device on the floor and it will mark a vertical line from floor to the ceiling, I tested indoors and had no problem drawing a horizontal line 50 feet away.

Here are the key features that I like about it: • It works; the green line is not a mimic, I have a attached a picture comparing red vs green line. The difference is night and day. • Simple to use; want draw a horizontal ? Press the horizontal line button, want to draw a vertical line? Press the vertical line button.

There is no dedicated on/off button just press the horizontal or vertical button again. • The low battery indicator light will turn on when batteries have less than 25% of charge. • IP54. protection against dust and water splash.

Do not swim with it : ) • Attaching / mounting options ○ If you are drawing vertical lines (i. e aligning studs) just put it on the floor, the laser will draw a line from floor to ceiling ○ To draw horizontal lines, most likely you will need to put the device above the floor using a tripod or mounting it on the wall / ceiling, It has two powerful magnets on the back so you can attach it to any metal objects, like metal studs and metal doors, it also comes with an extra base that you can screw to wood or clamp it on drop ceiling.

○ I like how you can rotate the base up to 180 degrees. Room for improvement • The device comes with an extra bracket to clamp it to a drop ceiling, however most of the drop ceiling rails nowadays are very thin, when clamping the unit to the drop ceiling the rail bends due to the unit’s weight making the mark not accurate, this is not the device’s fault but It would be great to redesign the clamp to open at least 2 inches with rotation so it could also be attached to 2×4 studs.

• The batteries that come with the device are generic low quality batteries, they are prone to leak. Out of the box the batteries were leaking acid. These are consumable items and does not affect the evaluation of the laser device but it would be nice if it came with better batteries out of the box.

I do recommend this laser device for indoor work, and small outdoor work, for outdoors there are other type of devices from Dewalt especially designed for outdoors that work very well with bright sunlight.

If you are a homeowner thinking about buying the Christmas special laser devices that you see at the home center for less than $50. don’t do it. Those are only good for hanging picture frames, instead invest in a quality device like this Dewalt.

Got this laser level to use in comparison with the one I was previously using (a different brand) on job sites. I am partially color blind and had a very hard time seeing the red laser line with the other set up past 5-6 ft.

from the unit. I was pleasantly surprised when I turned this unit on and could see the vibrant green line the entire way around the room. When it comes to using the unit, there are lots of positives.

The mounting bracket, although mostly plastic, is very sturdy in its construction. The pivot bracket is also sturdy and I found no deviation when rotating the unit side to side, when mounted. The magnets are strong and hold the unit in place without sliding.

I liked the fact that there is a stop point on the mounting bracket to which you can set the pivot bracket to with consistency. It’s gives the user the ability to remove the unit from the mounting bracket, use it else where, and then put it back and not have to worry about readjusting it.

Unit is extremely accurate. I do high end custom cabinetry and generally work to 1/32” of an inch when building and installing (try to work by the saying “aim small, miss small”) so accuracy is key. Over the distance of 22’ ,from unit to wall, I was able to figure out that there was just under 1/32” deviation.

Cons One thing that I wish this unit had was a field of view that was slightly past 180*. There was a point during initial setup on a job that I had to reset the laser due to it not being able to cover all needed areas at once.

Another thing I can see potentially becoming an issue with consistent use is the screw holes on the mounting bracket. Due to the bracket being plastic, there may be a chance to wear through those hole over time.

Overall this is a sturdy, well built accurate unit that is very easy to calibrate and use as long as you take the time to do it properly.

Wenn man mal ehrlich ist, werden im normalen Umfeld eher wenige diesen Tester für USB- oder BNC-Verkabelungen nutzen. Nachdem ich zusätzlich einige Bewertungen zu den verschiedenen Produkten verglichen habe, bin ich letztendlich bei diesem Set von LogiLink gelandet.

Mein Ziel war es, mit möglichst wenig Geld, ein solides Produkt zu erhalten, das nicht gleich beim ersten Einsatz auseinander fällt und u. a. einen Kabeltester, eine Crimpzange, und ein Auflegewerkzeug beinhaltet.

Pro + Lieferumfang Tasche, Crimpzange, Kabeltester RJ45 und BNC mit Adapter, Abisolierer, LSA, diverse RJ45 & RJ12 Stecker mit Kabelschlitten, zwei Schraubendreher + Gute Wertigkeit Stabile und ergonomische Materialien Contra – Der Kabeltester wirkte wie bereits benutzt, da die Folie auf der Oberseite einige Kratzer aufwies – Keine Batterie für den Kabeltester enthalten 9V Blockbatterie – Leider kein Knickschutz für die Kabel enthalten bei dem Preis aber ok Auch wenn die obige Auflistung eher Contral lastig ausgelegt zu seien scheint, ist dies nicht so.

Der erste Einsatz verlief, dank dieses Artikels, sehr schnell und sauber. Für das, hier gebotene, Preis- Leistungsverhältnis, kann ich das Set bislang gut weiterempfehlen. Die negativen ASpekte in der Liste sind eher marginale Punkte und die Kritik schon auf hohem Niveau zu sehen.

Für den Heimgebrauch und ab und zu mal, bei einem bekannten, eine Leitung auflegen oder ein Kabel crimpen ist dieses Set auf jeden Fall zu gebrauchen.

very strong holding up to a large dog that’s very strong.

Gets unfastened with strong winds. Sits outside – wintertime – and I continually have to go out and re-fasten it. Neat but would best be used indoors.

Decent quality and good price. I used them to hold grommeted cloth covers on a machine and it worked great.
