20 Best Tools For Carving Pumpkins (2023 Updated)

I love this product. I didn’t carve a pumpkin this year but used this kit last year with fabulous results. It is nice to cut intricate details and be able to have a clean inner pumpkin 🎃. This is really the best thing to use instead of digging your hands in to get it out and then a spoon to clean.

Decent pumpkin carving tools, guide book, and template set. A few of the knives, the blades fell out mid-carve. A bit on the dangerous side, especially with slimy hands. This set has inspired some…inspired carved pumpkins for my family.

I kind of wish there was an advanced set available, like we leveled up. 👻.

I bought this product last minute for a bonfire party I was going to. I carved pumpkins with it and the tools were actually pretty decent. We did have to use another bigger knife to cut some large sections.

I love that it came with some patterns to trace too. I wish it had come with a little bag or box to store the tools in, but overall i enjoyed this product.

I haven’t actually used these yet, as it’s only August, but plan on using them this Halloween. The set comes in a nice zippered case, similar to what you would store CD’s in (for we old folks who remember those), in Halloween colors of black and orange.

Inside there are 8 tools, each in their individual space where they are securely attached to the case with elastic. What impressed me most about these is that all the tools have a full tang, just like good knives, and have some weight to them, unlike the cheap ones that you get at stores like Target.

There are 4 saw type tools with a variety of teeth per inch, a really nice scoop to get the seeds & guts out of the pumpkin, and three tools that I have no clue what they are for – guess I will need to find a video on pumpkin carving.

I can’t imagine needing anything more than this set to create some amazing pumpkins! If I have any problems after using them I will update, but they seem amazing so far.

I got the ghost face version and my son loved them. They held up great and made carving easy. I only wish it would have came with two pokers for outlining. I had to wait until my son finished so I could use it, instead of us doing it together.

But other than that this is great.

Bought this on a whim and glad I did. We had store bought cheap kits in the past that were junk. I have no idea how it compares to fancier kits but it worked for us. Carving was faster and all the tools gave us greater control.

That made the carving process all the more fun for all of us. Having a zippered kit thats easy to store for the next year was nice too.

Holy smokes, these things are serious pumpkin tools! I feel like they need to be stored in the garage with the hardware instead of with the utensils. First thing my husband said when I took them out of the box was “Are those full time? Wow!” I expect this to be the last set of pumpkin carving tools I ever have to buy.

Heck, these may get passed down to my grandchildren, they are just that sturdy and sharp (And speaking of sharp, I actually wouldn’t let your kids use these unsupervised as they make quick work of pumpkins AND fingers).

Carved 3 pumpkins with them so far and encountered no issues. Easy to hold and cuts through the rind well. The metal scoop is much nicer than the plastic ones I’ve used in the past.

Bought this kit on a lightning deal and it was worth every penny!! I have never carved a pumpkin so quickly and accurately!! The tools that come with the stencil books are garbage and I have kept them over the years because a lot of them break after the first use.

Well I threw them all away after we made our Jack o’Lanterns this year! These tools are made very well, don’t bend, very sturdy and cut through a giant pumpkin without any problem. Happy Halloween!!.

It was next to impossible to cut into the pumpkin with the supplied attachment. The tool itself is far too weak. HORRIBLE PRODUCT!!!

It worked very well for carving my pumpkin. Even though it only came with one tip, we were able to buy new tips to use on it, making it even better for detail work. Highly recommended!

You can use it for a lot more than carving a pumkin. I have been cleaning up rusty toots, air registers and other metal and wood items.

Also brought a set for my son who thought it was absolutely brilliant is the easiest way to do pumpkins for Halloween

I brought this for the children to have some fun and the tools ended up snapping. Not good Not safe Crap Waist of money

We grow our own squash but I wasn’t sure how much I would actually use this tool. However it’s proved indispensible. The knife initially looked a bit flimsy but it cut through the tough skin of the squash effortlessly.

The claw scrapper soon cleared out all the seeds and unwanted bits. I was delighted at how quick and easy it was to use. The knife comes in a protective sheath which is very useful and then clips into the sturdy plastic scoop.

The knife is super sharp and goes through the squash effortlessly. I wish the knife was a bit longer, but it does the job. The scoop does a great job cleaning out the pulp and the serrated side makes separating the seeds from the pulp very easy.

I use this primarily when I prepare butternut and spaghetti squash.

We brought this as this year we decided to grow squash (butternut and mini) and its always an issue when preparing them. This made the job lot easier and less messy. The scrapper end was brilliant at removing seeds and the knive end really cut through the flesh of the sqaush.

It comes with a knife protector which is handy if like me you throw and grab things out of the drawers and also because it all sits together you dont have to go searching. Would definately recomend this to someone who enjoys eating squash and its good for prepping pumkins for Halloween.

At first this seemed a bit pricey for a few x-acto knives and blades But what’s great about this set is that you get one of everything (actually two of a couple of blades), which, in the long run, is cheaper than buying everything separately.

I had no idea what some of the different numbered X-acto blades were like, an I sure didn’t want to buy a pack of 5 of one kind only to find out I’d never use them. With this set, I can try out each of the blades and determine if I should buy more.

Same with the three handle styles. In addition, if you’re a modeler or crafter who frequently sells at craft shows and does work at your table between sales, having all of these blades and handles in a very sturdy carrying case is a godsend.

A magnet holds all the blades in place, and you can bring a full set of hobby knives with you to shows or clubs easily. Bottom line: this set was well worth the price and is a great introduction to the various handles and blades.

On first look the case is nice, and the tools do as well. However when you start looking closer and using them that where it changes. The case does not close easily. You have to press hard so that you can use the zipper to close it.

The knurling on the on the sleeve is subpar. It works okay for the smaller knife but the larger all metal knife your fingers slip as much as they grip. Its an extremely thin piece which if it was a little thicker they would be able to put a proper knul on and grip would be no problem.

That’s where it loses a star for both ease of use and value for the money. As for sturdiness, well the case is tough but I don’t know how long that zipper will hold considering that the case has to be pressed together, meaning there is always pressure on the zipper when closed.

Conclusion I would rather have them put more effort into the quality of the handles and leave the case out altogether. That’s what’s going to get used. The case will be set by the side and forgotten about im time.

THis is a great little X-Acto knife set with all the basic blades you should need. There are three food solid cutting utinsels and its easy to change blades. Replacement blades are easy to get and are low priced.

being this is the name brand and not generic, I found the quality to be better than the off brand that m replacing. The set comes in a case for eas storage. The case is not high quality but basic, but it has held up well in the near six months Ive had it.

These knifes are great for crafting or small wood projects. X-Acto has many accessories and blades you can purchase and this is the main reason I purchased this set and not an off brand. My last X-Acto set was almost fifty years old.

I replaced it with a cheap set and now am going back to name brand. Economically better in the long run, great quality product.
