These arrived brand new looking and in perfect condition. The HTML & CSS book is one of the most easy to follow books on the subject matter I have encountered. I’ve read it twice and the concepts are sticking very well.

However, it is out of date; a number of changes in both the recommended approaches to designing sites, and the code itself have occurred since published. These are things I am aware of and I am not a programmer.

However, I still recommend this book as a great intro to the concepts. It is easy enough to supplement with visits to a site like w3 schools or Stack Overflow, to learn latest best practices and newer HTML5 tags.

I am not finished with the Javascript & JQuery book, but it seems to be attempting to humanize a much more complicated subject matter. However, I am not sure yet if the Javascript & JQuery book is succeeding, but relative to HTML + CSS, Javascript seems like a very complex language, syntax-wise, to me, so it might take a second or third read to feel fluent in at least beginner JS.

Probably not for you if you’re seasoned developer, but for me this was the best set of books I’ve seen on the subject. Javascript books I’ve seen before tend to omit the very basic founding concepts jumping straight to practical applications.

While it’s good to get to apply knowledge straight away, it is sometimes not clear why the things have to be the way they are. This book, in my opinion, makes it crystal clear. Both books seem to me a bit over-illustrated, but that’s not really a problem and may actually help those who think more visually.

I find it hard to suggest a better place to start one’s front-end web development career, especially from a design background.

Well written, visually compelling, but not just another “coffee table” book. I’m still working through the examples, so I can’t vouch for every detail, but it is clear to me that the author knows his stuff.

Obviously, you can only get so much from a book, so it will not help you if you won’t help yourself. There are downloadable code examples available for each chapter to allow you to dive in without much effort.

If this is what you want to learn, download some image and text editing software, find a cheap (or free) Web hosting service, explore the many help forums at W3Schools, Mozilla Developer Network, GitHub und so weiter, and build your killer site!.

The Logitech Brio was easy to set up on a Mac. I just plugged it into a USB A port on my Ben Q monitor and attached it to an articulate arm. Then I connected the articulate arm to the stand of my Ben Q.

It all works great. I do not use the microphones as I have an audio interface and external microphone but the camera is clear, sharp and does a pretty good (but not perfect) job with color (bright saturated shirt colors or very dark shirts etc will throw it off a little, just like most webcams I’ve tried, but it’s not too bad.

) I use a LumeCube Go Panel over top of it on a separate articulate arm and another LED photo light in the room, so I can’t really speak for how it works in low light, but with plenty of light it’s great.

As I indicated, I bought this model because of its USB A cable connection into my receiving device (monitor) and also because of the 4kUHD resolution. I haven’t really checked to see if the 4KUHD is actually running during Zoom conferencing (I suspect it tops out at 1080p) but it it looks great on my end and even on a 31.

I really love this webcam! I bought the cheaper Logitech C920 Pro thinking it would be good enough for my Zoom sales meetings, but it didn’t adjust to the color of my face well and I looked a lot whiter than I am (which is already pretty white).

I needed something that would adjust to lighting in a more intelligent way. This camera is expensive, but given that I’m on zoom all day long, I think it was a worthwhile investment and I’m happy with it.

The 4k is nice to have, but I don’t actually use that resolution since zoom only supports HD. I’d say the cam is worth it just for the lighting and autofocus adjustments. The cam is also a really nice quality.

It’s metal, versus the cheaper versions being plastic. I also like the small white light it shows when it’s on. It’s subtle.

The video looks fine. It doesn’t seem to look much better or worse than my previous Surface Studio built in camera. What I don’t like about this camera is the mechanism for mounting it to the monitor.

If you bump or move your monitor the camera is not mounted very tight and you seem to have to adjust it periodically. Even when I close the safety flap to cover the lens it moves. I would have returned this but didn’t want the hassle and I needed something until I can find a suitable replacement.

In all fairness this could work better if your monitor shape is different. I use it with the Alienware 38 and the back is slightly curved so it proves to be a tricky angle for this type of attachment mechanism.

The Logitech meet up camera is a high end full featured video conference system in a small footprint. It is well suited for small conference rooms at the office or for home office when you need wider coverage or don’t want to be sitting on top of your camera.

The camera and camera software are incredible—they actually work together with the mic array to turn toward the speaker and/or zoom in if necessary. Fancy stuff for such a small unit. The audio quality is top notch as well—both incoming and outgoing.

The beam forming mic enables natural conversations with voices appearing to come from where they should based on the speaker’s location. Overall great video conferencing device for the post-COVID remote working world.

With our seemingly never ending work from home, we were looking for something we could use for our meetings as well as safely keeping in contact with family and friends. Setup was super easy and quickly usable in both Zoom and Google Meet.

The camera quality is solid, and the speakers and mic were surprisingly good as well. The optical zoom is definitely useful and the cameras ability to zoom in and isolate on who is talking is a handy feature to have.

Take the camera and undermount it on a TV and you get a much easier way of doing Zoom calls with grandparents while little ones are wiggling around the room. Overall this is a really good videoconferencing setup.

The Logitech MeetUp Videoconferencing camera is a little videoconferencing camera with a big punch. It’s not to big, so it doesn’t take up much room, don’t let the size of it fool you, it has the best features you can imagine! We’ve been using this from our home for work related calls.

The beamforming microphones provides very clear audio! The picture quality is by far, the best, images are also crystal clear, it also has pan and tilt features. Very easy to setup, and very easy to use.

I’ve had a set of these for 20+ years, I can’t imagine adjusting cables without them. I bought this pair for my son to carry on the passion, for cycling. I have a ton of Park tools, but I’ve never seen anything that compares to these!.

My local bike mechanic suggested using one of these when truing my wheels with straight-pull spokes. When you try to adjust straight pull spokes (the ones with the nail-type head, as opposed to the J-hook), the spoke will simply turn with the nipple unless you hold the spoke steady.

This tool holds the spoke without damaging it as pliers would. Also great for snugging cables, of course. BEST USES: Snugging Cables, Truing wheels.

Bought this to modify it as a spoke holding tool, because of the simple design this tool can be modified quite easily to keep your spokes from turning while tensioning them. Remove this bit here, bend this part there, and add a spring holder, then viola a spoke tool that is second to none for keeping your spokes from twisting.

Marcel’s are required by my state to pass your State Board for cosmetology. They’re definitely weird, but anything that poses a learning curve is. It takes a minute to figure out, but when you I, you’re unstoppable! I would definitely recommend a heat resistant comb to use for your kickstand and cooling your curls.

This iron gets HOT. I tried to do my own hair and ended up burning my neck pretty severely. Use with caution, but so many curly styles can be created with this, that it makes it all worth it! .

I love these Hot Tools Curling Irons. I read all of the reviews for the Professional Marcel Iron before deciding to buy. Especially the lowest ratings. It appeared most of the complaints had to do with the handle of the flapper (this may not be the technical term for the metal part that covers your hair, but I hope you understand 😊).

I then turned to YouTube and found directions for using this Hot Tool. I have curly, wavy hair that seems to need more pressure applied to it in order to get it to do anything when using ANY curling iron or flat iron.

THIS Hot Tool seemed to be the answer to my problem. I took a chance and bought 3 sizes. I am in my 60’s now and my hair is not as curly. nor near as thick as it once was. lol. but when I got hang of using these Hot Tools.

I Was ABSOLUTELY THRILLED! The reason is, because my hair was smooth enough to be naturally shiny. Regardless of your age, hair color or race, if your hair has the kinks in it that makes it curly or wavy, then it usually isn’t shiny, naturally.

Not the best product, but also not the worst. The value is there for a hair styling accessory; but it noticeably doesn’t get quite as hot, as quickly as some of the higher end brands. But if you aren’t looking to spend a lot for your hair styling tools, this is a good quality of brand, in a mid ranged price for a tool that will suffice and hold up to the task.

I personally find, the hotter the tool, and the tighter the rod- the better and linger lasting the curl. Works, but isn’t my first or even my second choice for styling products.

So this webcam happens to be a bit more expensive than most. After being disappointed with my last Microsoft camera, I decided to jump the price range and give this a try, after all, the specs DID look attractive.

After a couple of weeks using it quite frequently, I must say I’m very happy with it. Image quality is indeed fantastic and better sensor (and I assume firmware shenanigans) make it really good even at quite low light levels.

I use Linux and it just plug-and-played with the generic video4linux drivers with no problem at all. I’ve used it for Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, OBS. all with no issues. I’m genuinely impressed. Whatever gripes I have with it are quite minor, and they are as follows: – The standard “monitor hook” stand does not offer the camera a lot of flexibility.

So although it’s easy to get it to point to where you want, it doesn’t really have any sort of “swivel” for immediate tweaking (i. e: it’s easy but you WILL need more than one hand and 2 seconds) – The camera is USB-C and the cable (which IS pretty beefy) is directly attached to the camera.

It’s got decent length but, with my particular setup it’s squarely in the grey zone between being the ideal length or not quite long enough. With USB-C extensions being trickier to find, this CAN be an inconvenience.

– It doesn’t have a physical cover for when it’s not in use And. yeah. that’s it. Three minor things which aren’t even really problems. I’ve sorted the cable and there is a n option tripod mount included if you want to replace the provided solution.

Really other than the price being a bit high in comparison, I have to scrape the bottom of the barrel here to find any complaints. Great stuff, really.

The Logitech Streamcam offers full HD and great colour at 60fps, which pretty much says all you need know if you want high quality non-jittery video. The camera is however, bundled with some brilliant downloadable software which is very helpful in order to run the camera at its best.

You can choose between frame rate or exposure priority, image stabilisation, auto white balance, 50 or 60Hz anti-flicker and even auto framing. Options to flip the image horizontally or vertically whilst streaming can be pre-set and there is even a picture-in-picture option for two camera sources.

You can also take snap shots of the screen or record a video. I found the autofocus feature great for moving around, whilst the 50/60 Hz antiflicker features to be the most helpful when dealing with indoor lighting.

The only hiccup was the clip-in mount which is intended for portrait or landscape shots. Whilst the camera clips easily into the two supplied mounts, which fit onto a tripod or the top of a screen, the mounts are a little loose.

This results in undesirable camera movement when the cord gets bumped. The cord is also a little on the short side and you may need a USB-C extension. Yes, I said USB-C. I had a spare USB-C socket, but most people with an older computer may not.

It’s easy to get an extension cord or an adapter, but to avoid frustration when you get the camera home, check out your system before you shop.

Excellent webcam with features that make it stand out from the crowd. The logitech software helps get the lighting right and I love the auto framing. I got a trial of xsplit in the box which does a great job of creating a professional blurred background look.

It is really easy to either mount on a monitor, a tripod or my favourite: the microphone boom arm. It is useful that it automatically orients the picture. It benefits from having good lighting, but functions okay without depending on your room.

It would have been nice to have a detachable usb cord. I have had to use a usb 3 extension a few times. It is low latency when plugged directly into the motherboard.

This is the very best Logitech webcam I’ve ever used. With the downloaded software enhancements you can do many special activities; i. e. , zoom, speed rate, etc. It’s so easy to set up and use it’s fantastic.

Better than my C920 Legitech webcam. The head set is very functional and the ear pads fit perfectly over your ears and close off noise. The only negative I have is the operating instructions that are included in the box.

It’s pictures rather than words and some of the pics you must look at for awhile before understanding what the pic is telling you. I downloaded the user manual and it was much more helpful. The user manual should have been included in the box!.

We received this headphones and webcam bundle recently and we are really pleased with it. The headphones are over the ear and very comfortable. Features a in line button that can answer call and hang up call which is nice.

We also liked the feature that when you pull the microphone down it is activated, when you put it back up it automatically deactivates. Nice feature. The Webcam is equally nice featuring an easy clip to any monitor and an ability to change video quality.

This is such a great headset! It is very well made. The cord is wrapped in a cloth like material, which makes it look even better!! The ear pieces are of great quality. They are soft and fit great! The sound is superb!! I love that they are noise canceling and you can move the Mic out of they way when not in use.

The webcam is great for those mandatory meetings. It’s easy to set up and use. They are such a great pair to have, especially for work!.

Excellent webcam, suitable for streaming or video work. I had an old Logitech C600, it was 2MP with autofocus- but it needed a lot of light to work properly. In dimmer light it got very grainy & jittery.

So I decided to get a newer webcam, and this one does just what I want! Since I’m using a 32″ TV as a monitor, it’s great that this webcam has the capability to be attached to a tripod; I’ve got it set up now in front of my monitor, at just under eye level, so to my family it appears that I’m looking directly at them- which I am! It works in bright light or dim light, the images are crystal-clear, it has autofocus & zoom, facial tracking- in short, it’s perfect for my needs.

My family is in Australia, where they can’t leave & I can’t enter, so for the foreseeable future we can only get together by video chats, and this webcam is the bee’s knees!.

This is a good product at a competitive price, and I had only slight problems with the set-up. The zoom and autofocus work out-of-the-box with Logitech Camera Settings software (we use Windows10). However, be aware that this model is C930C (not C930E) and is basically the Chinese version of this device.

We use Logitech’s “Logicapture” software which in the Uk has support for the C930E but NOT the C930C, so Logicapture did NOT recognise the device. I researched this problem and found that it’s necessary to edit the logicapture.

exe. config (just an XML file in the “bin” folder, so any text editor will do) to change the PID of the C930E (0x0843) to that of the C930C (0x0891). After that simple change the camera works very well with Logicapture.

Of course if Logicapture ever needs to be reinstalled the above change will need to be repeated. It’s also possible that in the future updated versions of Logicapture may have a bearing on the above.

I have just bought and tested the Logitech C920, C925 and the C930. The Webcams are primarily used for VC for business discussions and have been used in single person and also with group VC calls. – C930e: Highest price sharper than C920.

Much wider at 90degrees — much wider at 90 degrees – for my use this was the best for VC’s where we have 4 people around the table – the wider angle makes a clear difference – I would recommend the C930e for group video calls as the 90 degrees makes a huge difference.

I am using it on two Macs – with OS Catalina and Big Sur, works perfectly fine. Make sure you download the utility software named as “Camera Settings”. This is like pimping the c930e, it does magics.

Don’t use Capture software, use only “Camera Settings” software and you will never look behind.

I bought this webcam for a relative using an older desktop running Windows XP. This said computer has a 1. 6GHz processor, so it could not support 720p calling too well (believe me, we tried. ) The C210, a 480p camera, provided the perfect balance between low processor requirement and appreciable video quality.

I clipped it to the top of the monitor, and both the webcam and in-built microphone work pretty good at an approximate distance of three feet from user. This webcam is used mainly for Skype calls. Skype detected the webcam and mic right away.

However, sometimes it take a few seconds to “warm up”, i. e. for the green power light to turn on and the webcam to become functional. This would make sense whenever it hasn’t been turned on for a while, but even during calls it does that.

Not too big a problem though, as it never drops a call or restarts on its own during one. Being on the viewing end of these Skype calls, I see that the picture is pretty good, I can actually make out details and see color on the wall behind the user’s chair.

My main complaint about this webcam are these flickering, white vertical lines that have recently started appearing mid-call. Both the caller and call receipient can see them. They don’t come up right away, but when they do, they severely affect the video quality and stay for the entire time the webcam is turned on.

Even moving the webcam sideways or swivelling it up and down about its clip doesn’t work. This has been the most annoying problem with this webcam so far, but since it’s a recent issue, I suspect it isn’t a manufacturing/unit defect.

I bought this headset a few years ago and it still works great now! I use it for three to eight hours a day for what feels like forever now. The material covering the foam has sort of wasted away in recent months, but that is after two to three years of intense daily use! The bindable keys on the side are perfect for your media player so you don’t have to tab out of what you’re doing.

( PS: They don’t seem to work while in League of Legends, but that’s the only game I’ve found that stops the keys from working on iTunes ) So you could get up to five or more years out of this if you only use it for about three hours every day.

Have had this headset for six months, its been good BUT!!. it started falling apart after 1 month and it been treated very well from desk to head,the sound is average the bass is terrible but treble is good.

This is an average gaming headset there are better out there for cheaper then this (razer) but if you like logitech then by all means get it. Nothings stopping you. Oh and the mic is probably the best thing on the g35 just be aware that it does start to break easy at the sliders.

This book is probably the most well written and graphically presented computer programming book I have ever owned! The basics are presented concisely in an easy, but not belabored way. Many advanced concepts are also covered in a very clear fashion.

I learned a lot and will eventually read this book cover to cover. This book has replaced most of my other Javascript books. buy it. you won’t regret it!.

I have already been self-learning JavaScript myself, but this book really took it to the next level. The writing is excellent – everything clearly explained,with no rambling. The book has great visuals of everything that is explained, unlike aboring old textbook.

I really want to like this thing, but there’s a huge issue with it that makes it basically unusable with the metal base. The hole in the base in which the arm sits to hold it up is too big, so the arm leans way over and spins all over the place.

Even the slightest adjustment to the angle of a mounted webcam or other device changes the balance and causes it to swing every which way, making precise placement next to impossible. Interestingly, the C-clamp that also comes with it has a plastic sleeve inside the hole where the arm mounts to it, and this sleeve acts as a spacer to hold the arm tight and keep it from wobbling, swaying, spinning, etc.

The base needs a similar sleeve, but it doesn’t have one, and the one in the clamp seems to be glued or otherwise held in place so tightly that it might very well damage or destroy it to try to remove it to put it in the base instead.

I reached out to the distributor/manufacturer to see if they could send a spare plastic sleeve for the base, and they essentially said no and that I should return it if I don’t like it. The only reason I didn’t just return it was that I got it on sale, so it would have taken more time and travel to send it back than that bit of money was worth.

So, should you get it? If you’re going to use it with the C-clamp, then it might be great for your needs. If you’re going to use the metal base, however, I think you’ll want to avoid this product, because, as it did with me, it might prove to be nothing more than an exercise in frustration.

Not a trained technically but have a strong understanding of anatomy. Would not use unless you have this understanding or you could do damage rather than heal. In my case, specific application to trigger finger.

Four months, occupational hand therapist for two months, brought improvement but not a cure, cortisone injection brought complete cure, for 2 weeks, then back to pre-injection status, went to chiropractor that specializes in sports therapy and he used graston and Active Release and had a big improvement but still problems after two visits, I was leaving the area due to covid-19 and he suggested that given my knowledge of the hand and finger anatomy to buy this device and copy his treatments.

Well unbelievable results. The hand doc had suggested more injections or even could have surgery to cut the pulley in my hand. Just two more treatments, 2 days apart with ice afterward and woke up this morning with no trigger finger, still some tenderness and not 100% (yet).

I have methodically broken down my body from a lifetime of gymnastics, running, and climbing. I refuse to stop, though. This tool has been super helpful in keeping me in the game! I use it on my knees, IT band, and elbows.

Recently, we bought the C920 for me, and moved our older C910 to the GF’s laptop so she can do telemedicine video calls with a clearer image and better color than her laptop’s built-in webcam. Been testing the C920 on my ACER laptop (with an Intel Core i5 dual-core cpu) and on our main PC (with an Intel Core i5 quad-core cpu).

Happy to report it works equally well on both. The camera seems to have a chip inside which processes the video in H. 264 format, so your computer’s processor doesn’t have to work hard to handle it. Good lighting is always the way to go with any webcam, yet the C920 can produce very acceptable results with less than ideal lighting.

HINT: Set the background on your monitor screen to use it for lighting. In Windows, right-click on an empty area of the screen and select “Personalize”. In the new window select “Solid Color” and choose White or maybe amber if you want a warmer tint on your skin.

Keep your video chat or other window fairly small so you’re getting a lot of that screen lighting on your face. This is useful anytime, but especially at night, for example. Getting enough light on your face ensures that the webcam’s auto-focus works properly.

If you’re sitting in poor light with a lamp somewhere behind you it makes auto-focus less effective. Remember, low light always reduces the webcam’s frame rate so if you don’t want jerky video put on some light!Regarding privacy, covering the lens is fine, but what about the microphones? If someone is hacking your camera they can still hear every word you say even if the lens is covered.

There are a couple of options: 1. Unplug the webcam when it’s not in use. 2. Disable the webcam and, separately, the microphone, in Device Manager. Just a word about Logitech’s overall quality. Over the last 8 or 10 years we’ve owned a Quickcam Ultra Vision, a C270, a C525, and a C910.

They’re all still in good working order. Even the ancient little low-res ball shaped Quickcam still works. The point is Logitech quality is reliably good. The C910 has the Zeiss glass lens + stereo mics and produces high quality results in any decent lighting situation.

The current C920 is very similar and uses H. 264 format for quality and acceptable file size. The C920 also has a wider field of view. What about their Logitech Capture software app? It has all the usual adjustments plus picture-in-picture controls, chroma key, and more.

Definitely worth a look if you’re not quite ready for OBS or others. If you have a special need there are more expensive webcams that offer 60 frames-per-second or even 4K resolution (Logitech Brio springs to mind here).

If that’s you, be prepared to optimize your system with some pro-quality lighting, microphone, background, etc. Ultimately, Logitech C920 remains the most popular choice in high quality webcams even after eight years on the market.

Time tested and approved.

I am so glad I waited in order to get this webcam. Granted it’s a lot more expensive than the many advertised that look similar or give similar specs. However from the moment you open the packaging, the quality of construction of this camera speaks for itself.

Solid metal, soft plastics, a versatile but well made bracket including tripod mount, stereo mics, clear film protecting not just the front transparent window but even the shiny gloss plastics. It’s a lot smaller than I expected, just an inch or so high and maybe 5 inches wide.

It feels pretty solid though but it is quite light. The cable length is generous, maybe 1. 5m? There’s no software though or instructions in the box, but on a Mac with OSX catalina it was plug and play, it just worked straight out the box.

I did though download the Logitech Capture and Camera Settings software from the Logitech website which enables you to adjust the resolution, zoom and pan, adjust colour, temperature, sharpness and so on.

Compared to the built in 720p camera on my iMac this is noticeably improved, excellent picture quality, natural colours, excellent low light performance and autofocusing. It’s nice that you can disabled the autofocus with the app and manually focus if required.

Although I don’t tend to use the built in mics, theydo sound great and in stereo. Excellent wide view, no visible distortion and works equally well on the Windows 10 PC with Teams – again no software installation required.

Definitely a class leading webcam and really pleased.

I purchased the C920 webcam to replace a C910. The C910 was a brilliant webcam and I had hopes for the C920 but sadly no. It doesn’t come with any software and the Logitech site (rebranded Logi) is incredibly hard to negotiate.

I have spent the best part of a day trying to find Logitech drivers for the webcam. Microsoft’s default UVC drivers work but it’s not clear what functionality you are missing when using them. Given that I don’t have the correct drivers perhaps the following comments are not valid but that’s the current situation: 1.

I’m not impressed with the video quality and not sure it’s truly HD. 2. Low light performance is poor. 3. The picture is not stable, it flickers and 50% of the time reverts to black and white needing to exit the application (Zoom, OBS) and restarting the app.

Its quite compact, about two matchboxes in size, and feels solid. Good build quality. The default is you mount it on top of the monitor. It hangs over the bezel by bending the adjustable mounting strip to fit.

This strip also has a threaded insert, so you can mount it to a stand. In addition to being able to adjust it by bending the mounting strip, it has a swivel ball mounting to the strip, so its very adjustable.

Its probably worth getting a gooseneck stand if you’re going to use it a lot, as that will allow more precise positioning. The positioning on top of the monitor seems too high in my case, so I mounted it for a first trial on a home-made stand, just a couple of bits of wood and some elastic, to get it at about mid screen height, which seemed to give the best image.

It works fine either in daylight or artificial light, the image is well balanced and neither washed out nor excessively dark. Contrast is fine, shadows are not blacked out. It is fully compatible with Debian Linux.

Install Cheese first, to test it, and it will come online immediately. The Zoom application also works fine in Debian. I have not tested it yet with Windows so cannot comment on the Windows driver. Autofocus works fine with a very slight, just perceptible delay as you move out and in.

Sitting at a desk, the field of view is about right for one participant in a Zoom meeting. It is probably not wide enough if you are trying to have a group in one room participate over one camera link.

I don’t think there is any way of adjusting the field of view manually. Exposure is also automatic, if for instance you increase the light level in the room, and works fine. On top you will see two bumps.

The rear one is the mic. The front one is a button which doesn’t appear to do anything. It doesn’t seem to send any key code when pressed. Maybe it does something in Windows with the Windows driver? There is a choice between two versions of this, this one, the Studio, and the Cinema, which last has lower resolution.

This one is probably worth getting on the grounds that it is going to be more future-proof and it doesn’t cost much more. I cannot comment on the quality of the mic because of course you have to be on the other end of the call to assess that.

It is a mono mic – the Logitech, which is the obvious competitor, has a stereo mic. I did not think this was likely to make any difference for conference calls. I am very satisfied with it. Its typical MS hardware, not particularly cheap, but a competent design, well built, decent quality item which does exactly what its supposed to do.

Excellent value. If you glance down the reviews of the cheaper off-brand ones with similar specs, say on Amazon, you’ll find a bunch of rave 5 star reviews. But then scroll down, read the lower star reviews, and you will probably come to the same conclusion, that there is little point trying to save a few pounds on an unknown brand and dubious performance when for a little more you can get a known high quality item in this one.

The MS LifeCam Studio is an HD camera (1920 x 1080) with a single built-in microphone. It has pan, tilt and zoom (PTZ) functions, as well as iris and focus controls, but these are inaccessible for reasons detailed below (although the latter two are automatic by default).

It has a flexible foot with a threaded hole, although I can’t tell what this is meant to fit – it certainly doesn’t conform to any metric standard (and the Product Guide gives no clue). It comes with a neat little padded pouch, and a “Product Guide”, which looks impressively thick until you discover it just consists 6 pages of minute print giving only regulatory, safety and warning information (i.

e. nothing useful) in 30 languages. It is not supplied with any software or drivers, although these can easily be downloaded from Microsoft’s website (once you find out exactly where, that is – again, the guide doesn’t even give that information, so just Google for it).

Once you’ve downloaded the installation pack, connect the camera BEFORE running it (leaving it to when you’re instructed to do so doesn’t work). The LifeCam V3. 6 camera management utility installed with the drivers also doesn’t work.

It reports no camera connected even though other applications can see it (including MS Teams and Skype), so the PTZ, and manual iris and focus functions it’s supposed to provide are inaccessible. This is an old problem about which many have complained on MS forums as well as others, but MS have clearly done nothing about it.

I use Zoom and wanted a better camera to hook over the top of my monitor. One then needs to adjust the camera’s zoom setting to minimise the surrounding room clutter and focus on the person. There is NO zoom setting within the driver that auto-downloads from Microsoft for Windows 10 20H2.

You can only adjust focus, brightness and some other useless settings. There is no specific webcam program from Microsoft for this webcam with Win 10. This is stated on their website. The design of this camera is much older than one realises.

Apparently it was good with Win7 Sorry Scan, but I’m returning this product.

I’m considering returning this product because I know its potential and the cost behind it. Let’s start with where this product differs from normal webcams, and how this makes this a very strange product to begin with.

This camera’s sensor is larger than a normal webcam’s, and yet much much smaller than a normal camera’s. You might say this isnt an issue because your phone and most laptops have camera’s much smaller than this one and plenty of them do fine.

This. is the only problem with this camera, and its a major one. Your phone’s front facing camera works by taking the worst image you’ve ever seen, if you’d been able to see the raw to begin with, and using a lot of guess work and processing to get the image to what you see on screen.

This processing includes color correcting, highly advanced noise removal, and in some cases, complete pixel synthesis to create the images we see today. This is not to say those sensors are bad, just that they are essentially all software.

Webcam’s feed on this same design, in that they take what should be a terrible messed up image, and use insane amounts of software on every frame of video to ensure that the photo that comes out might look blurry, out of focus, or like all the detail in the worst cases, is gone.

but the image is noise free and in all likelyhood the best-case scenario out of these cheap sensors as they can squeeze out in hopes you enjoy it regardless of the horrible quality per bandwidth ratio now that USB3 has been a thing for so long.

Big Camera’s, DSLR sensors are of such a greater scale that much less of these various software tricks are actually necessary as they are consuming so much more light and have such better understanding of the raw input due to this amount of light, that they can see much closer to how the human eye sees, and in some cases, much much better as we can control the “Brain” that processes that light into an image.

Pulling color and dynamic range out of places an eye would stumble in dark scenarios. However because of this lower processing, a DSLR may initially appear to produce a noisier image in low light scenarios in all but the best of cases.

Good news with a DSLR~! You can take its raw output from the sensor and throw that into some video or photo editing program and apply those same post processing effects phone’s use to a finer degree and produce an unparalleled image.

It’s range is so much higher that it is worth this trade off. This camera. Falls into an uncomfortable middle ground between these two, and because of it you have to do something crazy to make it work, so crazy in fact that I am considering returning it.

Let me explain. See this webcam’s sensor and range might be better than most webcams but. this says very little, due to the camera being so lacking in post processing, and its range not being high enough to make up for it.

Much of what you can do with this camera in POST will make it look like a normal webcam without extreme amounts of light. To be clear, I am not talking DSLR amounts of light, it is much higher even than that.

Where something like a Logitech webcam may lower its post processing as more light is introduced into the image, this camera has very little from the start, meaning right at the start, a lot of light is needed, and unlike a DSLR, its sensor cannot compensate for gain, at all.

The moment even a little gain in the sensor is added, noise will be noticeable, and colors start to bleach out. I have an 1100 lumen bulb on my left, a 1600 lumen tv backlight, a 1600 lumen desklight, a 1600 lumen bedlight, a 1100 lumen bulb on my right, and a 1050 lumen bulb behind me.

The image, is unusable for any description of recording. There is noise everywhere, and it is unfixable with manual settings. in a small room. Through my testing, I can drop exposure to -4 maximum with high gain (Below medium for this sensor, there is lots of noise) (-13 is the fastest exposure setting for the camera) This should imply that even with a focused bulb at 2800 lumen’s the best I could do is drop exposure one more notch, or remove the gain setting (This camera’s “Exposure Times” are doubled.

Dropping one notch does nothing unless at the slowest exposure speeds, these means the software is lying to you) Also, noise and the “Gain” setting are not completely related (A slow exposure will still produce noise in the image even with gain disabled) Implying again that “Gain” may not be an appropriate word for what the software is actually doing, unless the sensor is noisy by default which by is disproven by watching videos of people with expensive video lighting.

The above means the best combination for removing noise from the base image is to lower exposure to a -5/-6 with 0 gain for this sensor, naturally, without post processing (The least amount of post process work needed) Unfortunately, I have nearly 2200 lumens pointed at my face, and I cannot use these settings without high amounts of gain unless I put both.

Great webcam for dong zoom meetings/calls. It’s a “plug/play” device with no set up required. I use it to conduct a bootcamp class in an exercise room. Here are my pro’s and con’s: Pro’s: 1. Easy set up, fast.

2. Good to average video quality 3. Audio is ok as long as you are in front of computer. Since I’m teaching a class, I’m on the move in front of my computer, but constantly moving 5 to 10 feet away from webcam/computer.

Therefore audio is ok, and sometimes cuts out. Con’s: 1. Audio is my only major “con. ” And I think it’s not fair of me to rate this as a “con” because I’m about 5 to 10 feet away from webcam/computer as I am teaching a bootcamp class via zoom.

Whenever I move in close to the webcam to adjust something, and I happen to be speaking, the audio is great. But once I move back away from webcam, audio is ok, but as mentioned earlier, it sometimes cuts out.

Conclusion, I bought this because I was not happy with quality of my laptop’s webcam, and wanted a “step-up. ” I would recommend this webcam for doing things like zoom or where you are in front of your computer.

I like that it is very easy to use and set up.

For $70, this was cheapest branded webcam. Image quality: Image clarity is good although the colors were off. One needs to install its software and adjust the color, saturation, hue etc. to get reasonable picture quality.

Out of the box the colors were not calibrated well. Logitech Webcam (from 4years ago) was way superior out of the box and had better build and picture quality, although it cost me around $100 then. This webcam’s privacy cover is loose and made of cheap plastic.

I would say the price should be around CAD $40-$50 for this quality. Webcam technology has moved at snail’s pace since so many years, and companies are just selling same junk year after year with hardly any improvement.

At present times, they are reaping the benefit due to remote work at mass level. Price of Logitech webcam is through the roof >$300 for a 4-5 year old model. Imagine buying a phone from 2015-16. :).

I work on movies as a set lighting technician. The bag holds the tools I need and I was excited about the charging feature and the light. But I was greatly disappointed that the bag drains batteries when not in use.

If the 20v battery is plugged in, it will be dead in a few hours even if I didn’t use it to charge anything. I haven’t found any other reviews that mentioned this oversight, seems pretty faulty.

I upgraded from my tool bag to this. Quality seems great and the configuration seems like it will do the trick well! Look like a gentleman and a scholar with this baby on!!! The price is a little inflated for what it is.

CLC and DeWalt have a healthy margin on this bag, but its nice. I spent the money because I knew I was getting a quality piece, so far not disappointed.

Awesome backpack. Flashlight is brighter than expected. High quality, at least about 3 months of daily use. Makes carrying 40-50lbsnof tools much easier on the body to carry. Would buy another if I ever have the need.

I pick one of these up while I was building a better zoom/Microsoft teams set up. I wanted something with better video quality than the built in webcam of a laptop while being as simple to use as possible.

The c920s exceeded my expectations in all ways. Zoom and teams picked it up right away and the autofocus does a good job of keeping you in focus despite any movement you might have while at your desk.

The low light abilities were a pleasant surprise as well. I was expecting video quality to fall apart pretty hard outside of optimal lighting conditions but the camera was able to compensate pretty well for my less than ideal room lighting.

The quality loss at night or in a dark room would probably be less than ideal but for my use case (general use during the day with sun coming in from my side and overhead lights in the room) it works pretty well.

There are a couple downsides however. The integrated mics are not great and if your budget can stretch to a dedicated microphone as well then that’s definitely the way to go, they sound alright but their pickup pattern is so wide that any other noise in the room along wit you gets picked up.

More significantly (but also easier to deal with in some ways) Logitech’s Capture software is not very good. It’s functionality is alright but the way it’s laid out and its responsiveness makes changing settings and seeing their impact a hassle.

Fortunately you can skip it entirely if you’re using the webcam with stuff like zoom and teams. Windows picks it up right away and it shows up in their options menus without any additional set up. That last part was of critical importance to me.

One of the primary users of the system it would be part of is my elderly father so having to fiddle with settings menus regularly would be an immediate disqualifier. We’ve been running this webcam for a little under a month now and I can happily report there have been zero issues.

After my initial set up (and a little fine tuning in the settings of zoom/teams) it’s worked flawlessly since then.

logitech. com/en-us/software/capture. html 3) Auto focus is good – quick response time 4) Is it HD? – pretty close when the lighting is right. When i am doing formal/work calls, I put a small night-table lamp right next to my laptop/monitor so that it’s in front of me brightening my face.

That makes quite a bit of difference. Don’t need the fancy LED ring lamp. i also prefer the warmer glow of a regular bulb/lamp. 5) Field of View 78° – i find that it is just right for me. the wider capture does not make me look squished in, and it’s not so wide that things start to warp.

6) Dual mics- “loud and clear” was the feedback from the other folks on the call. (P. S. I wasn’t yelling, just the same as in normal face-to-face conversations) 7) The hanging clip/hook works fine for me.

I have tried it on the desktop monitor as well as different laptops, it’s minimal effort making the adjustment. 8) The shutter is just a nice little bonus 🙂 All in all, though this is double the price of the basic models, it’s definitely worth the while if the budget is flexible.

With this webcam, i don’t think i would go for any upgrade anytime soon, so that’s savings in itself.

Unfortunately, most laptops don’t have great webcams. The one on my new Lenovo is ok, but not great by any means. Now that I’m doing more Zoom and Team meetings I felt the need for a much better webcam.

After reading a number of tech reviews on the subject I decided on Logitech and one of their models. I wanted a 1080 cam, but also didn’t need a 4k one. Seemed that the C920s fit the bill and was reasonably priced.

Best Buy had the best price on the unit at the time I purchased it. so I went ahead and purchased one. I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now and am not at all disappointed. The picture is clear and crisp (which after all is the most important aspect of getting one of these) and the audio, from what people tell me, is excellent.

It has two microphones on either side of the lens and they pick up my voice perfectly. One thing I like is the built in (but removeable) security cover for the lens. The clamp works fine and seems to set the camera up in a good position without too much jockeying around.

It has the option of being set up on a tripod if the end user wants as well. The one thing I wish it did have was a removeable cable. The USB cable is permanently attached to the back of the cam. The angle of view is perfectly fine and it seems to focus very quickly when I move around.

At least I haven’t had any issues with that aspect of it. You can get software to adjust the webcam via the Logitech website. I found the software to be elementary, but good enough to do the job. The blue led lights on either side of the lens lets you know the cam is on and operating.

I have found this to be very helpful as well. All in all, I really like the webcam and can recommend it based on my personal experience. Granted, its not a $200 webcam, but it does the job and does it well.
