After crimping several sets of Cat6a patch cables over and over, they each tested fine with the Lan Scout Jr cable tester. However, when I went to use the cables in an install, the 1&2 pair was consistently faulty.

Upon inspection of the crimper it appears that the pins to crimp 1&2 are not the same length as the rest of the pins. This is a MAJOR issue. Furthermore, I was completely misled by your Lan Scout Jr tester that said all of the cables passed every time! Curiously, I sourced another ethernet cable tester which showed the fault in pins 1&2.

After I found that out I tested a different brand crimper and it worked! I wasted over $100 on the tool and tester and at least $50 on cat6a shielded ethernet plugs I need to throw out. This is truly disgraceful.

This is my third EZ crimp tool and first Klein branded one. I never had problems with the others but I bought this because of the compact design. I started having callbacks a few months ago and have now lost many hours and thousands of dollars troubleshooting connectivity issues.

I started seeing anomolies where the Fluke tester would show all cables connected but fail the qualification test. Sometimes if I flexed the cable near the connector, pin 1 would fade out and disconnect.

I didn’t suspect the crimper at first, but then I tried different connectors and different cable and the problem continued. The problem seems to occur more often with the thicker double jacketed shielded cable.

This crimper implements the new pass-thru technology and makes cable making more reliable, faster and easier. First off the crimper uses pass-thru technology. The 8 wires for RJ-45/6 wires for RJ-11 actually push through the end of the connectors (sold separately).

This ensures that there’s not more crimping an end, and the wire wasn’t far enough into the end and you crimp it and the short wire doesn’t hit the crimp or has a bad connection. The crimper is high quality and even has a wiring diagram on the side of it saving you time when needing to verify the wiring layout.

The crimper crimps the connector and cuts the wires off the front of the connector. It even has a ratcheting feature, so you know when the crimping/cutting cycle is done. Of course they cost more than the generic ones, which I have purchased in the past, and this one is a lot nicer and more reliable than the inexpensive ones.

It’s worth the extra money in my opinion. It’s worth the time not having to re-crimp an end because it didn’t take. One or two non re-crimps pays for this tool in the extra time you save not having to do that.

Since buying this, I haven’t had to redo the ends on any cables I’ve created. I really like this crimper. I like it enough to do a review on it. I usually don’t waste my time on reviews unless I have problems.

In this case, I’m willing to donate 5 minute of my time for others as I like this product a lot.

I got these for their ability to cut wire. after ruining a regular pointy light duty wire cutters and becoming very frustrated while trying to cut wire with that “notch” that is in typical slip joint pliers.

Yes they were more than I wanted to pay, but I’m happy I went ahead and got them anyway. They more or less paid for themselves the first time I went out and trimmed and/or twisted the sharp ends of the baling wire holding my fence panels together.

The wire was previously sort of kind of bent out of the way. but now I’m much less worried about the dog or me gouging ourselves if we brush up against the fence. Right after that I used them to cut some ad hoc home-made tomato cages that I decided to use as concrete reinforcement.

Easy-peasy.

I bought these as my very first set of Linesman pliers back in 2014 and this exact set saw me all the way through my entire apprenticeship and still are in the toolbox and used every day. Cannot believe how well they have aged; they have only gotten smoother with age.

Besides oiling them and wiping them down I’ve done very little maintenance to keep them this well. Paired with the excellent construction and very useful features these pliers will last any electrician new or young for years to come.

I recently moved to go off to trade school to become an electrician and the only tools I had with me were not suited at all for the work I was doing in school, I decided that if I’m going to be doing this for the rest of my life I should get some good tools for myself.

The first tool I got were these lineman’s pliers and after the first minute of using them I knew that every tool in my collection is going to be replaced with a Klien. Amazing tool with top notch quality and I look forward to using these pliers for many many years.

I bought a small set of Klein brand screwdrivers from the local Home depot that I work for. I have owned them a couple years now and wow, what a great set of drivers they have been! My first experience with Klein tools however began many, many years ago when my father retired from one of the big three auto makers.

He was in final assembly and had his own tool box. As the tradition goes in final, when you retire you got to keep your toolbox. As part of that box were slew of very nice insulated Klein screwdrivers! I have been using these same screwdrivers for many years on everything from automotive applications to Gun Smithing! These boys really shine however when working on electronic applications.

Out of all of these Klein screwdrivers, only one of them has ever failed on me, and it’s failure was 100% my fault. Even than it wasn’t a loss as I re ground the tip and made a gunsmithing tool out of it! The bottom line here is that I own many old Klein tools, and even a few newer ones as well! They all work just as they were intended to! I also dont see any difference in quality between the old stuff and the new stuff.

Many manufacturers cheapen things up over time however as far as I can see this is not the case with Klein. Thank you for making great tools!.

These are comfortable to hold, strong, and have excellent tips for gripping the screw. I got tired of inferiors screwdrivers (esp phillips head) that just get chewed up at the tip. I went and looked more online for brands that professionals rated as best and this brand kept coming up in mentions as well liked.

Now I see why. Ive purchased these now in many sizes and have been throwing out my older, poorly made or machined screwdrivers. Really happy with these.

I bought this, along with a T25 screwdriver, for tightening the last little bit of screws after running them down with my impact driver. The #2 bit of this tool, with the length, accesses kreg pocket holes.

I always worry that using a drill or impact driver will over drive the screws in and prevent a good joint. This alleviates that worry. I wouldn’t necessarily run the screw in completely by hand, but I’d use this for the last 1/4 turn worth to snug it down.

Same goes for the T25 I bought (different brand) for construction screws. Klein makes good tools at a cost. I’d recommend spending the money on good tools rather than paying twice for a crap tool and then a good tool.

I bought this tool just to get done with a project, I had lost my other brand of paduit gun down a wall cavity. When I used them i was immediately impressed and loved them so much i never replaced them with my other previous brand.

They are slim and easily held, very durable cutting blades and the tightening function is reliable and easily used in very tight conditions. The color is also a plus for its visibility in low light environments.

Wow!! If you have never tried a zip tie tensioner before you are in for a treat. This can tighten a zip tie so tight it will break it. Most people reviewing this tool are not using it right. It’s not their fault – there are NO instructions.

When I got it I said which end goes where? What you do is assemble the zip tie like you normally would and pull it tight by hand. With the zip tie in place place the tool over the tail with the little orange lever facing the connection or closest to the item being tied.

Squeeze the big lever until it’s as tight as you want it. After each squeeze push the tool inward (toward the work) to take up the slack. Squeeze again until tight. You can over do it and break the tie.

If you do that, don’t worry, I’ve do it too. It’s part of the learning process. Now that you know where the break point is do it just a little less. When you are done tightening squeeze the orange lever and it will cut the tie flush with the tie.

Hope this helps. Always buy more ties than you need you’ll break a few. Just a few words on types of ties. There are 50, 125, 175 and 250 lb. ties. You can kinda guess which are the heavy duty they are thicker and generally longer tag the small ones you generally see.

This tool is made to work with the 125 and heavier ties. I haven’t tried it on the small ones because hand tight is usually all you want. It’s my opinion this would work if you were gentle with it.

If you use nylon cable ties and tighten them by hand, then cut off the excess with something, you are (like me for many years!) an ignorant fool. Why did it take me so long to get one of these? Quick and unbelievably easy – it simply works great.

You can adjust the amount of tension on the tie simply by squeezing softer or harder. And Snip! – the excess is neatly cut off. The tools is ever-so-slightly counter intuitive in that one (me, duh) would think the red cutter handle toward you – you know, use your thumb? No, red handle goes toward the tie.

A gentle squeeze and off the excess comes. A great little tool!.

This is a often copied tool with so many fakes flooding e-bay and Amazon Crank Brothers has a page dedicated to spotting the copies. It’s one of the big reasons I shop a legitimate bike store like this.

Engineering and machining are top notch. The tool is a bit heavier than expected, but still within the average. The serrations on the sides aid in a better grip. Folding out of the tool pieces is easy, but not too easy, the tool pieces (e.

g. 6mm hex) stays in place for one handed operation (cheaper tools are either too loose or too tight). If you want QUALITY, go with Crankbrothers, worth the extra cost.

I used the tester before this Last one and it worked so good. Now I don’t have that one and had to go out and buy the newest one and it’s not even comparable. I am returning it and getting another one

I do a lot with screws as I avoid nailing when possible. Phillips screws are the most widely used so my #2 Phillips screwdriver gets a lot of use. I purchased this Klein #2 4 screwdriver to replace my Stanley Jobmaster that Ive had for probably thirty years, I took a picture and submitted it showing/comparing the two brands.

Amazingly they look and feel almost identical. The Stanley shank is slightly thicker, but Im hoping the Klein, for $9. 50 will last as long and will be well worth the price. Ive only used it a few times and it is very good, no camming out as it fits perfectly.

If you do commercial work there will come a time where you have to run emt and this requires cutting pipes, you will need a way to clean up the cut so the cables dont get damaged. There are a few different ways to get this done a file works, ive seen people use rods but the best and fastest way is to use a reamer.

A reamer will give you clean beveled edges that you can send and pull cable over without any damage or cuts to the protective layer the thhn comes with. This design features a built in slotted 8 at the base that works to tighten set screws in connectors and couplings; it comes with a replaceable blade that can be swapped out if the cutting edge gets dull after 2 years plus im Still on the factory set edge which still cuts like a dream.

I run a ton of 3/4” and 1” EMT. I use it daily so much so that I carry it in my back pocket. I normally put everything in a tool pouch. It’s beat on boxes and connectors, and turns most screws I come across.

The reamer blade can be replaced when I may need to do so. I have had it over a year and hasn’t been replaced. I had a ream tool from another company, it needed switched every 3 months. All around tough and ready to work.

Purchased these reamers when I started as an apprentice for an electrical company. I use them constantly, even when not working with conduit, as they are great for box screws. The grip is very comfortable and won’t chew up your hands even without gloves.

I haven’t even had to replace the blade! Another Great Klein Product!.

This is one of a few Ideal screwdrivers that have the wire nut driver feature. This one is a bit heavy but it is nice to have the variety of driver bits contained in the handle. One potential issue – if you try to remove a tight wire nut with this, the end cap (which has the wire nut receptacle) will unscrew from the handle.

The less expensive version which does not have bit storage in the handle does not have this problem.

This screwdriver has every bit I need including bits I didn’t know I needed. I wanted a ratcheting screwdriver with a good variety of bits and this is it. The first time I used it, I thought I only needed a Phillips head to remove a doorknob, but there was a set screw with a hex opening.

Sure enough the driver had the right hex bit which save me from having to run home for my hex kit. I like that all the bits a stored in the handle. It feels fairly sturdy. Overall a good value.

I particularly like the fact that its yellow and its easier to find when working in unlit areas. The best feature is the wire nut socket built into the handle. Great way to grip and tighten wire nuts when your hands are sweaty.

Always used a small piece of a metal snake or a drop chain until this and now a new method & tool to add to my arsenal so so far so good..

But I am mainly using it on drywall.

These flush cutters are very poor quality and I do not recommend anybody buying them, Jaws do not line up properly leaving the cuts very poor or impossible to cut though zip ties, I used these for cutting a few zip ties and when I went to examine the cutting edge it was ruined, the edge was folded, and now these cutters are unusable.

I’m 16 years old and i am trying to build my tool collection, I am trying to buy USA made tools that are of very high quality and will last me a life time and then some, Every Video I watch I hear about Klein tools and how great of a tool maker they are and specifically there very high quality tools and how it’s worth spending the price tag, Maybe I got a bad pair of flush cutters and that may be very true but I have read other reviews and they are not to far of from what I am saying about these cutters.

My return window has passed so I could not return this tool. I do not recommend these cutters to anybody.

I had to make the decision of buying a pack of 5 cheap Chinese flush cutters or buying this one for about the same price as the pack of 5. First of all, I’m pretty sure they came in packs of 5 because they were expected to work maybe 10 times before they broke? But I digress.

I saw that Klein tools were made in the USA and I had a recollection of when you used to be able to buy things made in the USA and they were really good quality. I decided to take my chances and go for the Klein tool.

Was. Not. Disappointed. Just by looking at it you can tell that it is a quality tool. However, as they say, the proof is in the pudding (I need to look that up. wtf). Anyway, looking high quality doesn’t mean high quality.

So I’ve used it in numerous applications and it continues working like new. I will definitely go out of my way to buy Klein tools in the future. I miss this quality of stuff!.

I hoped to use these for miniature making, cutting plastic bits out of sprues and such. However, the manufacturing of this tool is terrible. I bought this tool and another, cheaper set of side cutters from Home Essentials Direct.

When I got these, I could see immediately that they were poorly manufactured, it’s sad when the cheaper tool is the one that is actually decent. So I returned it, got another pair, which were just as bad.

So the following is true for both pairs of cutters; one blade was longer than the other. When pressed together, you can see how unaligned the blades are, and noticeable gap. These would do okay for home electrical work but you can get better tools for cheaper right here on Home Essentials Direct so I would avoid.

Handle is nice, good ergonomics. 2/10, would not recommend.

The quality of Klein tools is impeccable. So easy to use and well worth the money. You owe it to yourself to get a good pair of crimper and cutters. This one does all three! Crimps both insulated and non insulated connectors as well as wire cutters.

Great tool. I highly recommend you get one.

I started my second job as an emergency vehicle upfitter a couple years ago, and I was told I’d need to assemble a collection of my own tools. My first week, I used one of my manager’s three pairs of these.

After walking out of the shop with them a few time, I went and got a set of my own! Between these and the Klein flush cutters, they’re the only two tools I need, and I’ll probably never need to buy another pair.

Don’t be fooled, I’ll ABSOLUTELY be buying more Klein Tools!.

Great product with excellent construction. I used it many times while renovating my new house’s electrical wiring. I’m not giving it a full 5-star review only because it is quite expensive and it may be possible to get similar (or close) quality for less, so the value for money is not totally clear.

Also, I kinda wished it had a spring-loaded action as I found myself mildly frustrated at times having to awkwardly open it with one hand while my other hand was holding something else. The spring-action really wasn’t that big of a deal though and I don’t believe there is a spring-action tool that is equally sturdy, so it may just not be possible to have the best of both worlds.

There were times I was glad it wasnt spring loaded, though, like when I qas teisting wires and needed to adjust my grip. In those situations, a spring would have annoyed me. All in all I am glad I have this tool in my arsenal and will be using it for many years to come.

Maybe even my grandkids will be using it.

I use this tool daily, and it has yet to fail. I have the spring-loaded version (#8-16AWG Solid), which completely replaces my various small wire strippers. It cuts wire easily, and the needle-nose shaped end is perfect for looping wire.

I still have my lineman Kleins for heavy duty cutting/bending/self-defense/hammering/etc, of course. I can wire a job using this tool for 80% of the tasks. It is nice to not have to switch tools when you switch tasks–definitely a time-saver.

Have had zero issues with stiffness of motion. I highly recommend soaking it in WD40 for a weekend if you do have issues. I did this on a pair of rusted-shut Klein dikes, and it was smooth as butter after 2 days–just a thought.

Anyways, highly recommend this for anyone who does a lot of cutting/stripping/bending wire. It’s a hefty and sturdy tool, just like most Klein products. You can literally feel the quality of manufacture when you have it in your hand.

Would buy again if hell freezes over and it actually breaks.

These gnarly lil strippers will do everything you paid them to do and more. They’ve got sharp jagged teeth to rip that sheathing off and expose the bare underneath. You wanted more? They can take whatever hardness of screw you have and take care of business, leaving it shorter than when you started.

Got rid dig deep down in your sack for something your fingers just can’t reach, dip the tip in, it’s long and nimble and so dexterous that it will grab whatever slippery devil you need out that bad boy.

And just bc their head is narrow doesn’t mean they can’t twist you up around their shaft like they playing games with you. You want strippers and bolt cutters and crimpers all in one tool? This is your stripper baby.

This screwdriver has replaced a set of individual screwdrivers I use for electronics repairs. Instead of looking for a specific screwdriver to remove a screw, I just pull out the shaft, flip it over, and switch to the bit I need and put the shaft back into the grip.

The bits are hardened and will handle a lot of torque without snapping or warping out of shape. And the grip is slightly larger than your typical electronics screwdriver, so it perfectly fits into your hand comfortably.

And the bottom of the grip spins for additional control.

I bought this tool almost a year ago. It has been my upmost widely used tool. I work in a industrial setting doing controls, etc. Instead of carrying all the individual ones, this tool has allowed me to carry my essential tools without worrying about loosing each individual screwdriver somewhere.

I can’t seem to do any work without this tool and helps me be more proficient in my work. As a electrician, having too many Klein Tools isn’t just a waste of money, it is a investment and will always be my number one brand of electrical tools to purchase.

I use this at the tail end of all my tenant finish projects for lighting control equipment. It is really handy to have in my shirt pocket. Also it fits nicely in my tool pouch, takes up very little room.

The rotating back price is great as you can apply pressure with a finger to the back while using the different drivers. I don’t usually use all in one drivers as they feel bulky but this is one I have definitely kept handy.
