20 Best Tool For Code Review (2023 Updated)

Very easy to use this device. Was able to hook it to the cars diagnostic port, scan my car’s codes (with descriptions,) and use the very accurate details to find and fix my car. I am not a mechanic and haven’t had to deal with a check engine light for many years.

This inexpensive tool made the determination simple. Once I was shown the codes (there were two,) I Googled the codes and found several videos that helped me locate and repair the issue! I probably saved $500 to $1,000 NOT having to take the car to the dealership to find and fix the issue.

I am very happy with this device. It works as advertised.

There are way too many times that my novice self can’t figure out an issue on my car. In the past I’ve had to take it into the shop and hope they’ll run a diagnostics (hopefully for free…) then I’ll usually just fix it myself after that point.

This tool has already this summer saved me a couple thousand by helping me diagnose a misfiring cylinder as well as some issues on my other car. HUGE help. The best part is, this is definitely one of the more affordable diagnostics tools which makes it that much better.

If you have a vehicle, you’re going to want this in your toolbox. Doesn’t matter if what you drive is 2 days old or 20 years old, you’re going to want this. It’s great for basic things such as the gas cap, sensors, etc.

, etc. Is it as detailed and expensive as snap on? No, but it does what you need it to so you don’t have to keep going to the garage for a diagnostic code read and paying for it, or even to Auto Zone, even though they do it for free.

This little thing has already saved us so much money, wish I would have been able to find it sooner! It’s easy to use, comes with a manual so you understand how to use it, and if you have a smartphone, you can even link it together so it can tell you in real time what’s going on.

I definitely recommend having this on hand.

I borrowed an OBD reader from a neigbour to see if any codes were showing on a friend’s car and it could read the codes, but didn’t have live data, nor was it able to reset the change oil light. A week earlier, a lower model of the Innova reader went on sale and I was about to go buy it, but decided not to when I noticed that it also was not able to reset the change oil light.

The 3100 RS model is the lowest version that can reset the oil light, so when it went on sale the following week, I was very happy and rushed to Canadian Tire to buy one. I didn’t really have anything to test, so decided to test my car battery with it.

The test showed I had a bad battery, so I tested my alternator. It tested fine, so I replaced the battery on my car. Not long after that, I watched a YouTube video of a car mechanic that mentioned this very same tester and said it did just as good a job of testing batteries as his $800 battery tester.

That made me feel very good about my purchase because the Innova tester does so much more than just testing the battery, and it cost a lot less too! The mechanic also mentioned that newer cars don’t warn you with slow engine starts (like older cars do) that your battery is about to die.

One day, your car just won’t start! That can leave you stranded and costing you more than this tester. I now think that every car should come with one of these as standard equipment. Since they don’t.

better go and buy one for yourself.

I purchased this tool to help me diagnose both of my vehicles when the check engine light turned on. The tool itself is fantastic and is very intuitive to use. However the associated app for the iPhone/Android is as good as useless, slow, clunky has no real use case and attempts to make recommendations of what will fail in the future for your vehicle.

Another thing to take into account when purchasing this product is the updates on the internet – this tool has a USB on the bottom that can be connected to a windows computer and using Innova’s desktop application can be updated anytime to get the latest vehicle support software.

This is leaps and bounds ahead of other similar products. Outside of the App related issues, this tool is absolutely my go-to.

Looked for OBD2 tester online at CTC site web. Found 3100RS on sale. I read all reviews. They stated nicely connected to Android phone. Went to store. Asked clerk about unit since it showed 3100J on pacjage and same store product code.

Kid says same as advertised since store product codes matched. Tried unit out. Would not pickup my car’s Vin number (Lexus 2003) as well would not connect with phone. Called help desk in Cali. Guy tells me the J model will not connect to phone as is not the RS model.

I tell him CTC sold it to me as RS model. He says I know your not the first! Brought back the unit told CTC about false ad and got my refund.

Works with my seat leon but have to keep trying to connect as it will keep saying it cannot connect to cars computer. It does connect after about 6 attempts. Once it connects there doesn’t appear to be any problems and works fine.

Only used on the one car so couldn’t say how good it is. It does have plenty of features some to complicated for a novice like me but if you get the details from this OBD2 you can at least google the results and know what your talking about if you need to take it to a garage.

Less chance of being ripped off.

I bought this EMF detector to measure the EMF in my home, I was diagnosed with being too sensitive to EMF so I want to measure electrical items in the house. One shocking item that emitted a high amount of EMF was my cats recirculating water dish fountain! The phone, the router, the TV, its all amazing how much is emitted from small items and that wind up affecting my health, and everyone elses health, too.

Once set up it’s easy to use. The initial setup is a bit of trial and error as the instructions aren’t the best. The device itself is easy to use and reads codes for many manufacturers. It also has the ability to capture data whilst driving.

I was very impressed with how many systems I could scan with the 5410 tool and mostly how easy it was to get connected and get details. The live metrics feature is also extremely helpful to monitor critical systems on a test drive to confirm repairs are working as expected.

Clearing codes is also extremely easy. The bluetooth connection allows a full report to be generated on a phone or tablet, perfect for looking through outside of the car to further diagnose any issues or identify service recommendations.

Only drawbacks are what a few other reviewers have noted – the unit can lag at times with the buttons not being immediately responsive but it clears up after a few seconds. Also, the app is good but not yet great and hopefully will continue to be updated as there’s a lot of potential for it! Note: I received this unit for free as part of a product testing program.

Whether you’re a professional, work in a garage, or just a DIY mechanic, this tool is a seriously valuable one to have. Would highly recommend it to anyone who likes to take a hands on approach to vehicle care.

If you think in anyway that you could benefit from the Innova OBD2, then by all means, I encourage you to get one. Firstly, almost anyone can work the thing. It’s almost as simple as plug and play. Was able to correct a few aggravating dashboard lights on both of my vehicles, and since I’ve had the Innova OBD2 I’ve been able to stay ontop of everything.

Very impressed and glad to have one.

I am somebody who likes to be hands-on and be able to do stuff on my own and this follows me as it relates to taking care of my care. I have seen this kind of scanner be used by specialists to diagnose problems related to the vehicle.

I got this because cars can products are the ones that are widely used in the industry by DIYers and specialists and mechanics. I was very pleasantly surprised as it was really easy to setup and connect to my car and was able to get started real quickly as opposed to wasting time setting this up.

The app also helps a lot with tracking as well as diagnosing issues and getting in front of them. It is somewhat of an investment but for example, for me, I was able to find a problem that I needed to take care of right away as opposed to waiting for a disaster to happen.

I have a chevy colorado. I ran the scan. It shows all systems are good NO CODES. Yet im staring at a ABS light, as well as a ” fault in tracktion control” When i press hard on brakes sounds like banging, as well as peddle goes to floor.

So no, not happy with this. Why does the report state ABS system is normal ??? answer this.

Local garages and dealers have you over a barrel. Some codes, especially safety related problems like ABS, won’t clear after replacement parts are installed. It breaks their heart to charge you $90 – $125 or more for the 5 minutes it takes to reset your system.

Ordered it Sunday, received it Tuesday morning, car reset Tuesday evening. So I paid $109 for the 6100p. Turns out I had more than broken wires on the sensor. The sensor was bad too. The bonus was the non communication signal letting me know I had reversed the new plug wires.

The unit is paid for. Every use going forward for my whole family is FREE! I would just add this one thought, having some basic car repair skills are helpful. This tool can help you identify your problem.

It still requires hands on repairs to fix the problem. Today’s cars have so many systems you can’t afford to guess and just keep changing parts.

Initial power up the unit goes into setup and attempts to connect to a wifi network to update itself. It would not connect to the network after numerous attempts even when I reduced the security settings on the wifi network to make it easier.

The device offered no way to skip this step so it could not be used at all. An Email to the company went unanswered.

Horrible instructions. I am still not clear if I can operate the unit without spending BIG BUCKS to update and/or enhance the unit. What you pay for the unit is one thing. The cost of owning it seems to be all together different.

I hope the manufacturer will read this and contact me because I feel duped.

I could not download the updates from their website using my Hughes Net satellite internet 20 GB plan. I had to use a faster internet connection from AT&T U-Verse. So, you may have a problem downloading the updates on a slow internet connection.

That was the only problem I had. Everything else has worked out great.

I was trying to center a clockspring, steering angle sencor, it would give me the trouble code and that was it. I had to go to another analizer to get numbers for centering steering. positive and negitive numbers.

I had several problems with my Mercedes and the garage (a national chain) spent several hours with the car and finally pronounced it to have more problems than it actually did. The cost of all the repairs was not calculated but was going to be substantial and open ended from the discussion I had with them.

The car had gone into limp mode so it was struggling quiet badly with no turbo, the temptation was to say just get on with it, but thankfully I decided to order this diagnostic machine because I wasn’t happy with the diagnosis I was given! The tool arrived much faster than anticipated and I had it connected to the car within a few minutes of arrival, I was astonished how simple this was to do, just spend a little time to identify the exact car model – this bit is very important, I don’t think the garage had correctly identified the car and this may be why they misinterpreted the data? The main problem was a disconnected pipe to a sensor on the DPF, the car was fixed literally in under a minute, no more limp mode! The repair could have easily cost several times the cost of this diagnostic tool and I would have been no wiser, so as the title implies this is an invaluable tool which could pay for itself many times over.

Having had this tool for a couple of weeks now, I findit fascinating how much information can be gleaned from it about the fitness of your vehicle, I cannot recommend this tool enough, buy one.

I could not determine if this item was a genuine iCarsoft product, or a Chinese knockoff. The iCarsoft name did not carry the trademark designation on any of the contents including the user manual. The user manual was so poorly written I didn’t think it could have been done by a legitimate company.

It seemed a bit strange in its use, and the constant beeping every time a key was pressed was terrible. Since I could not trust the unit as a genuine product, I could not use on vehicles in which I had a large investment.

All information on-line showed the trademark on the product and it’s accessories.

Bought it for my Mercedes Benz W212 250cdi 2011 for DPF filter forced regeneration. I was assured the tool will work. The scanner came with the latest software version already installed. After connection I was able to read all of the error codes and clear them out (just one in my case) and read life data as well.

However the package says ‘reading error’ when DPF forced regeneration initiated after reading the never ending list of disclaimers. Another downside is that forced regeneration is for driving mode only (maybe it will continue whilst the vehicle is stationary but I didn’t have a chance to test it).

The English language is horrible you really don’t know when the engine should be running or the key should be just in the first or second turned on position. Xentry is much more clear from the nomenclature perspective.

Am I happy. no. It didn’t solve my problem.

I’d always have to run to the local autozone to have a check engine light checked which is great to have that service but say if my car wasn’t able to make it to a store I’d be stuck not knowing what I’d need to fix.

This device has made my life a lot easier and has saved me time and gas money by just being able to click it in and see what’s going on. I especially like the blue tooth option which sends the diagnostic readings straight to my phone and translates the code right then and there.

This may not have all the bells and whistles but for someone just starting out fixing cars this is a game changer!.

It didn’t give you easy to read description codes for a non-mechanical person to read. It took a long time to connect once it was connected to the different ports. If you wanted it to work it was truly hard to understand.

So we took it go back to the store to get help to understanding the buttons and how to use them. It was over price even on the sale price. The hired mechanical person who works on our vehicles told us it might a defected one.

He had tried several times to get it connected. So we returned to the store with much disappointment. Again it’s all about knowledge and who has been trained to work on this item. It should be much easier for regular folks and even with someone who has over 25 years of experience of fixing vehicles could tell something was wrong with this scanner.

We thought it would help us normal people, so we could save on money and tell their hired mechanic what their codes were. Then maybe purchased the parts from AutoZone at a military discount price for ourselves to save on money but only get charged for the labor hours to fix our vehicles for the family.

The Auto Zone workers at this local was very helpful.

This thing is so easy to use you can just skim through the instructions for a quick how-to. Easily gives code faults for all 4 components (engine, transmission, airbag, antilock brakes). Tried the live data to see how fast the input computing was.

Lightning fast with digital and graph display. Best alternative purchase if you don’t feel like paying $2,000 for a high end scanner.

A lot of scanners wont work with my 14 pin Mercedes Sprinter but this one works great. I managed to track and fix engine codes brake codes and SRS codes. It gave me enough info to find the fault , fix it and then remove code Saved me more than it would have cost at Mercedes in the first use , plus its way more convenient.

The CR Plus gives direct access to the mnfr specific fault data. The time savings makes this tool worth it for me. The picture is clear and easily readable but the small 4″ screen is truly the limitation of this handy toy.

Regardless, pulling the fault data on my BMW 335i and my took seconds to retrieve. It also solved the electrical issue on my 03 Silverado that haunted me for months.

You can get professional readings, without having to pay thousands. Great scanner tool with many attachments and capabilities. Definitely worth the money.

Don;t waste your time on code reseters. Use this tool to solve your problems. Using this tool I eliminated the guess work of auto store suggestions and fixed my car the right way

Pretty great value for the money. I bought this vehicle that was plagued with problems (definite lemon) and this little device kept me informed of what was malfunctioning. Mostly I wanted to know the codes the car was throwing, but this thing has other features I haven’t really fleshed out.

I just keep it in the glove box (it’s pretty small) and pop it in when the check engine light comes on. Pretty handy and cost effective tool.

LAUNCH CR3001 Eventually discovered this unit is not compatible with my 2009 Chev. Silverado ABS/SRS modules. Not many are from what I have found. Works fine for check engine codes, ODB commands, etc.

but not airbag/ABS. Manual provided seemed generic and did not match specific as it said unit. Standard OBD2 Protocols from 1996 to now.

it’s really nice and well designed code scanner, worthy the money! all basic feature are included and some new features such as capture screen and battery test, those are very useful functions, what impress me a lot is the hand feeling of this tool, very comfortable when you holding in hand.

I have been testing this unit daily for the past couple of weeks servicing many makes and models. The loading time is impressive and faster than other scanners that Ive used. This makes it perfect doing quick scans before service.

It does have some live data features and will display battery voltage. This is something that I wouldnt expected at this price point. This is a great basic scan tool. It has become my go-to when I need to pull codes quickly.

Im sure this is the best car obd2 tool in my toolbox!.

Easy to use to check and turn off a check engine light during a busy day. Only problem is that the light is out but the code is still stored in computer memory. I think I fixed the car and the light is out but if the code is still there, did I fix it? I still have to get out the big scan tool to clear the memory.

I have never owned a scanner before and was a little skeptical because of the low price. It works AWSOME. I am definately pleased with my purchase. I have tested it on many vehicles with great results.

Guys at work have used it and are all pleased with their results. I would purchase this same one again.

Easy to use. Just plug into an OBD II port and you are able to see any codes the car computer is giving as well as various other diagnostic info. Good value for the price!Tadaa! I like this better than going to an Auto Zone!.

I was an early adopter to the x431 scanners back in the mid/late 2000s and was thoroughly displeased with the product back then. In addition to over promising access/function, it was bulky, slow, error prone, and just generally a terrible way to spend $3000+ (let alone twice, I had bought a later gen one around 2010 or so as well).

Suffice to say I was extremely hesitant to give them another chance, but given how fast everything-tech has improved over the past 10-15 years, the new lower price point as well as portability of this unit pressured me into trying again.

I must say this is a very different animal than the early units. Obviously the color touchscreen is a huge improvement as is the smaller size, but also the speed is great. If you leave it off when not in use, it takes only about thirty seconds to be ready to work.

Moving between menus is very snappy, with only substantial delays when selecting a different manufacturer (the Bluetooth modules has to reconfigure) or when accessing inherently slow systems of course.

Functionality is better than before, though they still do over-promise things. Don’t expect to program keys on most vehicles even though they claim to. Most will use external (vci based) encryption which makes anything the scan tool clones irrelevant sincethe encryption isn’t there.

A plus side however is that while in the older systems it would just say it was successful regardless (as it just completed the cloned action anyway with no regard for output), ones I have tried out of curiosity have all given some error of sorts indicating it would not be possible to complete our is not fully supported etc.

While a minor thing on its face, this is actually a huge plus in that you don’t spend a ton of time trying to figure out if the problem was the key, an ecu/module, the scan tool or just user error. You know right out of the gate it isn’t going to work so no need trying to over-diagnose the situation.

So far access has been exceptionally thorough, being able to customize bcm/etacs functions on 2020 infiniti models for example with no problem. Even though there are a massive amount of manufacturers from foreign markets, there are still holes in the north american market support.

One would have to go brand by brand, but right off the bat I noticed the is no Nissan Rogue at all it seems, and the entire Hummer brand is also missing (including no listing for those models under Chevrolet or GMC, nor compatible vehicle access like Yukon etc).

So while still very far from ideal or perfection, at the current price point this is reallya no brainier. Very thorough access to many many vehicles at a sub-1k price tag. Even if as a secondary unit, it’s a great addition to the tool box and doesn’t take up much space.

This has all but replaced my 12k Verus if it weren’t for the lack of a lab scope.

I have downloaded all the vehicles updates. You don’t have to do all, but they do stay highlighted in the Update menu. That would be my one gripe is to enable selecting and deselecting what you want to have on the device and have it remain hidden until you select that you want it on from a separate menu.

Also would have been nice to have the ability to add memory from a SD card. But for me the 32 Gig is plenty as even with all the downloading and updating I have plenty of memory. I have used on 5 vehicles so far and it has done well.

I bought to be able to write Vin and reset an immobilizer if needed after a ECM change in a 2004 Toyota, but it turned out to be not needed. I then ran tests on my sons 2016 Toyota Sienna Van and it came up with 3 unknown issues.

So already I like this items ability to see deeper than a standard scanner. The issues shown to us were history items that were no longer an issue, but nice to know about as van was bought used. I like all this item is capable of doing for its price.

The touch screen is large enough even for me at 70 years old and is responsive once you figure out where its sweet spots are for the upper left back arrow. I am getting a screen protector to put on it as I know how dirty us mechanics hands get and figure I better protect it.

Most of the add in connector adapters I will probably never use, but I am glad to have them just in case. It is a little hard getting the Android software to allow you to hook up to a printer other than the one from this company which it wants you to buy.

but I figured out how to download files like I do from my phone or just simply email it to me and print it out on my home printer. If you can afford a bit more money for an item (usually about $150) I would buy the larger scanner X431 V Pro 4.

0 as it is easier to do all the above items I find bad on this one. But for me this is good as I am on a limited budget for my home use.

Works great. Diagnosed my son’s Volvo perfectly. Very intuitive to set up and use. You need to download it on a device with a lot of memory as it come with manufacturer’s data from every car maker in the world.

Saved about $40 on eBay as opposed to scAmazon. Love it. 2005 Honda CR-V with an airbag light. Tried resetting with paperclip under the dash. No joy. Check yellow plugs under seat: still no joy. Get this tool: Errors at seat belt (open) and driver seat position sensor open.

Boom, problem solved! Wire broke under the derived seat by the seat position sensor. A little strip, solder and heat shrink and Im back in business. Saved me hundreds at the dealer. Paid for itself on the first use.

No more annoying Airbag Light and now we can use the car with the confidence the air bag will deploy safely.

Works good. Helped me diagnose my abs on my 2013 Kia sorento. Had all three lights. Traction, abs, hill assist. Meter showed bad rear wheel speed sensors. Swapped sensor with new sensor and hub bearing and erased codes.

Even reads live data from sensor on mph. Great tool to have for kia. I also own a Kia soul so I’m happy having this reader for both my cars.

Wanted to check battery state, but discovered that this isn’t a standard obd2 diagnostic. Obd2 was invented to monitor emissions and so it concentrates on engine efficiency, not peripheral stuff like batteries.

This unit is solid and has its own display (not relying on a linked phone like some). It did read a fault code that led me to change glow plugs that I didn’t know were failing. The instructions talk about different protocols but only the standard one worked on my Renault Megane.

great product, I was left scratching my head, then this turned up, problems solved. It took all the guess work out of the equation in less than 10 minutes. It saved me changing parts just for the sake of it and needless to say saved money.

Best fifty pounds ever spent. It does cover a plethora of cars and is easy to use. A mechanic I am defiantly not, It did give me the confidence to have a go and saved a small fortune in garage bills.

Would recommend, it is compact and pretty rugged and is easily stored in the glove box. No batteries needed just plug and play.

I bought this scan tool two weeks ago to help work out what needed fixing on my car. It was extremely easy to use and has already helped identify what work needs doing on my car and on my dads! Would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to avoid nasty surprises from the mechanic after the check engine light comes on.

Does exactly what I wanted – an affordable ODB scanner for VW/Audio/Seat that allows you to clear codes. I had a flat battery on our Seat and also an airbag warning on our audi (caused because I removed the glovebox on our audio when fitting a stereo) – this managed to clear both so that I no longer had annoying warnings on the dashboard.

Very happy to recommend this, for around 40 GB pounds this is a bargain.

Used it for rear brake pad replacement on an Audi A6 Avant 2012 model. Worked as hoped for and DIY job successfully completed. If it helps anyone out there, turning on the ignition with a keyless Audi is as simple as pressing the engine start button WITHOUT the foot in the brake pedal.

The ignition turns on but no engine start. Also put the car on charge whilst working on the EPB brakes as the ignition and daytime driving lights remain on throughout the procedure.

If you do your own car repairs, then this Ancel unit is essential in pin pointing all those electronic warning failures and what needs replacing. It will also reset servicing schedules. It will pay for itself in no time.

In my opinion, it gives good value for money, accepting that this is not a replacement for a VAG diagnostic that cost hundreds of pounds.

Updating the firmware borked the catalog. So I returned and got another one. Same thing happened. All within the span of about an hour. I called Innova support and they were completely flummoxed. I did my part, I reported the issue.

I ended up just getting a very cheapo generic wireless ELM327 OBD II reader from the biggest online retailer in the world. With that, your choice of cheap iOS app to drive it and guess what? No more issues and much better software.

This is an antiquated product. do your research. It works, but there’s better.

If all you need is a basic trouble code scanner for your car, this is the product you want. It is light, compact and easy to carry in vehicle. Reads most common engine trouble codes and will save you lots of money.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT!.

Finally I got the time to try the scanner and looks fine. The screen is sharp and legible. But I am still getting educated about it. I recommend it.

This “Pro” model give me access to most modules and systems on almost all vehicle. It will let you see readouts from most sensors, etc. Give you details about most codes also. I had one like this for Saab and Volvo which I really liked.

It let me work on my XC90 which most scanners will not do much with. I sold the Volvo with the scanner. So I purchased the Pro model so I can use it on other cars. This scanner is good enough for most technicians to use in repair shops.

It will reset most reminders like oil change, etc.

Great DIY’er scan tool. I able to used this for my Nissan X-trail T30 to diagnose engine crank but no start. It helps me a lot to bring down all possible causes by checking the performance of each components e.

g. battery voltage, engine timing, fuel relay, CAN status and many more. I will recommend this product to those who love doing DIY projects.

Once you begin to learn how to operate the CR Pro its mysteries unfold. It is very good at identifying the cause of a problem whilst it does not necessarily overcome some manufacturers code erase security it does identify the original problem and save the needless waste of time trying to check all the ther possible causes.

Purchasing some of the cheaper BLUE translucent models of Bluetooth scanner adapters proved to be a waste of money and time. While they ‘May’ technically have the various protocols as outlined in their respective listings, does not mean they work in all cases.

Many of these budget adapters are inexpensive clones, that don’t have all that is required, to communicate with ‘some’ of the onboard PCMs. This adapter, even though it is pre-owned, is of very good quality and so far, has worked on the various vehicles I’ve connected it to.

Specifically, the BLUE translucent model mentioned earlier, would not communicate with my 1997 Explorer, nor my 2000 Windstar. Connecting this Tested device, even though used and refurbished, works Great EVERY time.

It is worth the money to spend a couple of dollars more and have something that is reliable, than to goof around with something that may or may not work, just to save $10. Big Deal!!! Spend the extra and save the headaches.

This scan tool has connected to every OBD2 car, truck and van I have tried it on. Probably 50 vehicles or more, both domestic and imports. Much more automatic than more specialized (and expensive) code scanners.

No need to select year, make, or model. The device simply begins flashing lights once connected and figures out what the vehicle is on its own. Once the lights start flashing like crazy, it has found the specific protocol and moves onto working like it should.

Connecting to a phone or PC is easy as well: it pairs up just like any other bluetooth device. After pairing up the first time, both my android phone and laptop remember the PIN and automatically connect thereafter.

Besides reading and clearing codes, the device also reads live data while the car is operating. Different cars provide more or less raw data, depending on how the ECM in the car is set up, but every car I have troubleshot with this tool has given me oxygen sensor, air/fuel ratio, and speedometer data.

I have been able to log fuel economy and fuel trim data for more than a dozen vehicles, allowing me to troubleshoot for dead or slow sensors as well as glitches and other more complicated issues. It is also cool tolog track data and watch fuel economy change with driving habits and traffic.

I will be recommending this brand to anyone who might ask me.

I am very pleased with the unit I received. It connected flawlessly with both my Android phone and Windows-based laptop. (NOTE: If at first you’re having issues, thoroughly check the settings on whatever device you’re trying to use.

I had to manually change settings on both my devices before they would connect to the OBD Adapter. ) Pairing this device with a software called Forscan (particularly the full desktop version; the app works great, too, but is limited) I am able to perform tasks typically only possible on higher end scan tools, including programming PATS keys! The only issue was that the faceplate on my unit appeared scuffed up, but as it turns out, there was a thin layer of protective film.

Once I peeled it off, it looked like brand new! One more thing to mention: this device does not read MS CAN by default, but is apparently capable of it with a little modification. (I haven’t done this yet, may update this review later.
