The offset to allow the top to rise without rubbing had to add a spacer. Great product. had one ding in the lid, small enough not to worry about.

Tool box was as offered, very nice, better than I expected. Installed with no real problems, just where it was located on the truck bolt hole was right on a seam, little grinding on the truck and it was done.

Really very happy with the product, arrived on time.

over all they are what i hoped … took a while to recieve them but not too bad.. Unfortunetly both doors were dented on one of the boxes.

I love my Buyers toolbox! I modified it (with angle aluminum) to face mount on the side of my freight liner, (it is also fastened from above,) and it looks great. I needed a little extra space for my big and heavy tools in my van conversion, things like jacks, vises and crow bars.

it is the perfect solution!.

This truck toolbox is a good value. Its a nice looking item well-made and well-designed. The only downside is that in my opinion the thickness of the actual diamond plate could either be thicker or stronger gauge used in the construction of the box overall.

Received boxes in good condition in a somewhat timely manner(2 weeks). Pleasantly surprised with ease of installation. Very sturdy and solid. My only critisisim would be the quality of the aluminum Welds on the lid closer bracket.

I don’t see those lasting too long.

Although this Tool box is nice looking and easy to install it is so cheaply made. It arrived with a dent in the curve of the lid which can’t be fixed. So rather then looking at it every time I get in my truck I had to install the box backwards so the dent would be on the passenger side.

It’s very flimsy. Should of re-painted my old steel box and saved the money.

After looking at tool boxes for my new truck for a month or more, I finally settled on this and am happy I did. Luckily right before I was going to buy it, it went on sale 20% off! Only been a week, but the box seems well built and the extra features like the upgraded handles and the top rail compare with others far more expensive.

Love the rugged look with the rail and the handles and even the locks/keys seem so much more reliable and heavy duty than the box with paddle handles I had on my old truck. Not sure I’d put something as heavy as a fully loaded cooler on top, but would have no problem with a large bag or something similar.

The extra space it offers for trips or large loads is helpful. I do have a couple of tips Some mentioned having to mount the box a little further back in the bed to keep the rail from hitting the back window when opened all the way.

That is true, but only maybe 1. 5-2″ or so. However since I did not want to give up even that much additional bed space, I mounted flush against the cab side of the bed and used a chain to only allow the lid to open just far enough without hitting the glass.

Still have plenty of room to get stuff in and out no problem. Also to keep the tray from sliding back and forth while driving (which you can hear), I just used those felt pads you put on the bottom of chair legs stuck to the side rails to hold the tray in place.

If you need to get under it, you just lift it over the pads and slide. Wanted to add pics, but site was picky and wouldn’t accept them.

Great toolbox. I can close the lid from either side of the truck. The only problem was the driver side lock had a small problem. After I locked each lock with the key the next day the driver side lock would not unlock.

So I unlocked the passenger side lock and opened the up the toolbox. I removed the bad lock by by removing a small screw with 1″ locking bar and a small “C” clip ring. This let me remove the locking cylinder from the handle and inspect it.

From my inspection I found small pieces of metal in the tumbler and grease. I cleaned off all the grease with metal in it, cleaned out the tumbler cylinder applied new grease. Reinstalled in reverse and tested.

Test Sat. Lock and and key work great! I like that you only have to unlock one lock to open the toolbox.

You’ll note in other reviews about the gap that you’ll have to leave between the front wall of your bed and the tool box, and this is true. I’m going to come up with a filler panel and weather strip for that gap since my plan is to also have a soft roll up tonneau cover from the tool box to the tailgate so that I can have dry storage in the bed while pulling our camper.

Installation of this box is very simple since they provide 4 slots on each side of the box. You will not drill any holes into your tool box or truck, you will simply purchase any of the available toolbox mounting clamps, choose the slots that you want to use to mount with and clamp the unit to your bed rails.

Simple and easy. The latch system works easily to open the box from outside of the bed and the very solid lid and full width hinge mean that you can latch it from outside the bed as well. I will not comment in the locks since I do not live where I would ever lock it.

My old box that I removed still had the keys zip tied inside of the box from 2017, this one will be the same. The included drawer in the unit very sturdy, I do like this much more than my old Dee Zee box, the drawer was cheap and thin and would sag and fall.

This box all around appears to be “Better Built” including the thicker aluminum, so this one should last a long time and not dent and deform so easily.

I looked at similar boxes that were less expensive and some that were more expensive. The UWS box was good quality at a good price. I epically like the body being formed from a single piece of metal rather than welded.

The lock and top lid are much better than the cheaper boxes sold elsewhere. I am very satisfied and would recommend the toolbox to anyone.

Received Damage not Heavy duty so thin its not worth the $200 i paid lock latch needs to be pulled hard to open this tool box is trash not recommended i will be returning mine waste of time ordering this to get junk.

I love the boxes. Best way ever to store tools. Only thing that would need approving is the locks. It needs a cover over the lock so stuff can’t slide under it And jam it

I bought this box because of quality and economy. The box looks great and is functional. I bough this box for a weekend truck. The box doesn’t need to be super heavy duty. The bad thing is everyone wants to charge a heavy duty price.

It’s a good box. It looks great. It should last me the life of that truck.

I picked up my tool box within two or three days at my neighborhood Walmart. Only problem was when I got it home and pulled it out of the box there was a ten inch scratch straight down the center of the top of it and mostly below where I was to install the handle.

It was easy to figure out what happened. When the lady at the store opened the box with a box cutter she cut into the tool box. I hadn’t paid much attention to how she cut the box and can’t say that she knew she damaged my tool box.

I like Walmart very much and go there often. I plan on using this tool box as a utility and not a showpiece so a scratch on it is really no big deal to me, but it is like buying a new car with a scratch on it.

Just the first of many I suppose.

This is a well built American made by Lund product that im sure will last for years after the cheap plastic and-or imported junk boxes have passed. It’s a shame these kind of products aren’t readily available but instead they try to push the cheap made big profit junk on us all the time.

The listing said 2-3 week build-delivery time, but I had mine in about a week.

actually using it as outdoor storage for a motorcycle trailer. Straps, softloops, ect. needed to be more weather resistant that painted steel. The diamondplate is a nice touch.

Overall the box has held up fairly well after about 4 months. It is deep enough to hold a standard 5 gal bucket and has sufficient room for most of what I need it to. Unfortunately the latching mechanism leaves alot to be desired.

It worked easy in the stor and for the first few weeks of use. Shortly thereafter it started get more and more difficult to open. It’s now to the point where it barely opens despite yanking on it multiple times.

At times, I have to resort to prying on the handle to get the latch to release. I would recommend going with a the latches as opposed to the handles as found on this one. If budget is not not a factor- pay the additional money for a Weather Guard box- I wish I had.

This is my third Tractor Supply Branded truck toolbox in a year. The first two failed within three or four months after purchase. The first box, the weld broke at the latches. The second box, the latches locked up and the push button release would not pop the latches.

I had to use a pry bar at tractor supply to break open the box to access my tools and trade the box in under warranty. I use my tool box everyday as I own a residential construction company. The only reason I still have a Tractor Supply branded box is because it’s under warranty.

I have no faith in the reliability of these tool boxes. Spend the extra and get a weather guard box or something better. I will say customer service at my local store has been great. I still shop there but will be careful what I buy tool wise now that I’ve had these issues.

the weld’s were ok but not in line. very lite. did not come with any mounting bolts or brackets. the manual said to screw to the bed lol. the opening levers very nice the boor pistons open and hold open great probably made in china.

would i buy again yes.

Pretty thin aluminum diamond plate. But the lock and strikers work great and it’s made well. Should hold up for residential type use. Not good for heavy tools and equipment

Received this box as a Christmas present unfortunately and was unable to return it due to TSC’s return policy. It’s a terrible product. Had it in the rain once and rust was already forming around the handles.

Not Water tight either. Had all of my cordless power tools in it only to find out they were completely soaked the next morning. This would be a great product if all you want to do is store life jackets and swimsuits.

will not recommend to any one and this one is going to the dump.

The one I got for my wife’s truck was great; everything worked fine. Mine was backordered and not so great. Mine must have been torqued a bit in shipping and so the lid sticks a bit. Additionally, the lock was jammed; the keys didn’t work so I had to rekey it.

Also, the welds on the corners aren’t as shiny on mine. Like I said, a bit inconsistent.

I own a GMC Sierra 3500 HD. I always do my due diligence researching before I buy and the maker of the TSC Tool Box is Dee Zee – a company with a solid reputation. The primary reasons why I chose this truck tool box: (1) It fits under my hard, folding tonneau cover; (2) I like that the lid opens from either side – and you can reach it from the ground (outside of the truck & truck bed); and (3) I prefer the black texture “powder coat” – a matte black – over traditional unpainted diamond plate & diamond plate painted gloss black (this tool box is matte black & is a better match to the sprayed-in bed liner).

Personally I’d never buy a plastic (composite resin) tool box. Cons: (1) The push button latches are stiffer than I’d prefer but maybe over the course of time they will open easier; and (2) As others have stated in their reviews, the adhesive watertight weather seal could stick better (note: call the manufacturer Dee Zee & they will mail to you replacement weather seal that’s better quality – they have recently switched what they use as OEM).

When speaking with Dee Zee Customer Support re: replacing the weather seal, I was told this model (and the 56″ model) has been replaced by a new model that has the new watertight weather seal and dual pull latches instead of the dual buttons.

Though I’m happy with this purchase, in retrospect I wish I had purchased the same box in the 56″ length (I thought I might like a little space on each side of the tool box when purchasing lumber but I realized the space on each end is essentially wasted & not functional).

I think mid-size truck owners will find this perfect – but for full-size truck owners with a folding or rolling tonneau cover, I’d recommend that you purchase the same TSC tool box in the 56″ size. Note: I looked at this box in the store, but I purchased it online and used curbside pickup for convenience.

I did a lot of research before deciding on this box for my 2018 Toyota Tundra Crewmax. I would have liked a bigger box, but this one was the best design to fit my short bed full size truck without blocking my view out the back window and not interfering with my Yakima Bedrock bed rails for carrying kayaks.

The locking mechanism was already bent in the store and one of the sales associates bent it back into position for me. I was a bit worried about this, but otherwise the box seemed fine. After I got the box home, I unhappily learned of other preexisting damage to the box that only became evident when I removed all the labeling on the outside of the box.

It is only a crease in the aluminium across a weld, but it annoys me. Any attempt to knock the crease back out would no doubt open the weld. I wanted the box specifically to carry my winter emergency gear.

Winter was upon us. At the time, it was the only box of its type in the area TSC stores. I didn’t want to take a chance on ordering a replacement box which might be damaged worse, and I needed the box now.

So I kept it, but I’m not happy about it. If you can find one that is undamaged, it is a good, functional box that fits my needs. Dry inside so far. I would prefer if it didn’t already have two holes drilled in the bottom.

I’ve decided to fasten the box to the truck bed by running a cable through the handles and behind the box, and locking the cable to the truck bed.

Finish on the box is great and holds my misc. tools, tow straps, and tie downs. Sits in my bed with plenty of clearance for my tonneau cover to go above. I haven’t bolted mine to the bed because I occasionally need to remove, so i really like that it has handles on the side – both to use for securing in the bed and also for moving it.

The buttons to open are a bit stiff to open. If I’m in the bed I’ve got to put some weight behind it or if I’m outside the bed of the truck I usually just slam it with my palm to open. That’s the only reason for the 4 Stars.

Otherwise, very happy with the purchase!.

This tool box was very substandard as far as craftsmanship and quality, it’s built by better built. The metal they use is very thin, not like other tool boxes I’ve had, and when they welded the seams it actually warped the metal.

And the TSC advertisement on the back of the box is overwhelming, I covered it with something more desirable.

I bought this box online and picked it up, very effortless process. The box itself appears to be decent quality however the box was “twisted” a bit so when I set it on my truck rails one corner was 3/8″ higher than the opposite corner, also the lid or box was out of square enough that the lid would bind during opening and closing.

Between trigger clamps and a hammer I got everything adjusted so it now works well. It’s not junk, but you will get what you pay for & this is one of the cheaper boxes.

I have 2 year extended warranty but I have problem from first day. Lid won’t close level on both sides after many adjustments. Also dent in top corner. would like to know recourse please. Txt 9122246292.

Got this toolbox to upgrade from my previous one from tractor supply due to needing 3 replacements in a year. This one lasted 3 months before ultimately starting to break and latches are no longer functional with minimal use.

Deep box and has plenty of space to store things without bowing. Unfortunately the latches are starting to bust through the lid so I will be returning it.

So decided to buy a new toolbox for my new truck. I went with a wallet friendly one. A couple of things would have made it even better and kept it from being a 5 star. I like that it’s steel so I can keep my magnet mount lightbar on the side of it on the inside when I’m not using it on top.

It’s nice and deep for plenty of storage. So I’m going to explain the star rating. First and foremost one of the latches wasn’t wanting to latch. So I did some investigating on it. I found that the peg that the mechanism latches on to was loose.

I had to adjust it and retighten it. Minus 1 star. Next I wish there were predrilled holes to make install easier. I got some of the clamps so I didn’t have to drill into my truck. Would have been nice to have some holes and make it a 5 minute job.

Also some of the other toolboxes had the shocks that would open the lid as soon as you open the latch. This requires 2 hands to open. One to pull the latch and another to open the lid. Those 2 things combined takes off another star.

Overall it’s a no frills steel box that locks. If you need a decent toolbox but can’t afford an expensive aluminum one with pressurized shocks but is still water resistant, this is for you.

Nice tool box for the money. I needed a replacement for an over the bed rail version so I could put a Softopper on my truck. This fit the bill for what I needed.

Box metal is thinner than I expected but it will work for a simple storage box holding straps, chains and a small floor jack. Height of box fit fine under the cranking handle swing diameter for the tongue jack.

Had to add internal reinforcements when I bolted it to my trailer tongue with U-clamps. Worked OK.
