20 Best Toner To Tighten Pores (2023 Updated)

Glow Recipe is one of my favourite brands and every single time I buy from them I’m shocked because their products always smell so good and the whole aesthetic of the brand is adorable. I get worried about products that smell nice because I try to avoid added fragrance (idk if there’s added fragrance or if it’s just that the ingredients smell good in this case though) as it can cause irritation or breakouts but their products are yet to cause any issues.

This toner in particular really surprised me as I had been using the watermelon mist for a while because it has AHA, which tends to be more gentle compared to PHA or BHA. So, when I bought this because of all the positive things I’ve been hearing about it recently on YouTube and TikTok, I found it works so well! I was mainly purchasing it for the exfoliation properties of the PHA+BHA, however it also ended up being SUPER hydrating (not like overbearing and pore-clogging though).

It feels super light and refreshing, especially if you have a beauty fridge to keep your skincare cold, but even without the use of one it still feels so good. It makes my skin feel so clean and fresh when used right after cleansing (especially in the mornings.

Glow Recipe watermelon products hit different when you’ve just woken up and wanna feel like a Pinterest-esque beauty vlogger). What I especially like is that it has the perfect amount of everything; again, it was hydrating but not too hydrating.

The PHA+BHA that exfoliate and brighten did so without being too harsh on my skin (which was one of my fears and the reason why I usually opt for AHA over PHA or BHA). If you’re scared to use it because of skin sensitivity, don’t be! I’m a teenager so my skin is still a little reactive but this product caused no issues and made my skin better than before.

I first used it when I got it a few years ago, but then puberty was like “lol yeah I’m gonna make you look like a cheese and bacon roll” and so I stopped using it out of fear that it was the cause of my newly developed skin sensitivity and reactiveness.

I recently bought it again, however, and it works wonders! I’ve been trying not to over-exfoliate in an attempt to heal my skin barrier (I recommend korean beauty products for this if you have the same issue because I’ve noticed that popular skincare brands there tend to focus more on hydrating and building the skin barrier for preventative purposes rather than dehydrating to limit blemishes despite it just being a short-term solution because it risks weakening the skin barrier like some western products do) but this was gentle and hydrating enough to exfoliate without damaging my skin barrier, thus not impacting the protection from irritants and whatever outside dangers that cause breakouts.

Anyways, I love it and you should too. It’s like my holy grail.

Today I am finally reviewing the second part of my Glow Recipe “Watermelon Glow” sample from Sephora. To be completely transparent – I actually don’t have much experience at all with toners. This may be appalling to many skincare gurus, but alas I had no idea how to use this product or what it was for.

Upon learning about the product from the website, it seems like this is another iteration a type of essence I’ve recently started using. Essence, toner, whatever you want to name it, this is the very first thing that touches your skin after you’ve cleansed.

I’m a bit jealous of those who have the full sized bottle – it is absolutely gorgeous, uniquely shaped, and shows off the gorgeous formulation inside. Getting my sample out of the container was a bit difficult, and akin to smacking the back of a ketchup bottle.

Glow Recipe suggests you gently pat the product onto your skin, as opposed to swiping or rubbing. I feel like intuitively, and out of habit, we are tempted to rub products that we apply – or at least that was the case for me.

I began using a cotton pad to lightly dab the toner onto my problem areas as I was looking for a more concentrated, treatment effect. The formula consists of so many ingredients it’s hard to keep track – most notably watermelon extract, cactus water, and actives including PHA + BHA to help simultaneously exfoliate and hydrate.

I love a multitasking product. I could barely feel the toner as it absorbed into my skin, with no irritation or discomfort whatsoever. My skin soaked this up completely. As far as the scent, this product is fragranced, though fragrance is not a key ingredient and is in fact the very last on the list.

My only critique is the smell. Somehow the dew drops smelled so much better to me, almost like watermelon candy. This, on the other hand, smelled like watermelon varnish – a small inconvenience for the pure efficacy of the ingredients.

My review barely scratches the surface of all the good that is in this product. A must-try!.

I tested the line of “Fruit Babies” from Glow Recipe to see if the products actually lived up to their hype and I found myself pleasantly surprised. The Watermelon Glow Toner claims to refine pores and hydrate which it certainly seemed to deliver for me.

The presentation of this product is impressive. It comes in a super cute glass bottle which can be easily recycled, refilled, or up-cycled which is really unique and cool. Ingredients: 🍉 PHA or “Polyhydroxy Acid” – keeps skin hydrated and balanced by dissolving dead skin cells in orderto reveal a more even skin texture.

Good for those with dry or sensitive skin as they are less likely to sting and burn. 🍉 BHA or “Beta-Hydroxy” AKA “Salicylic Acid” – contains anti-aging properties, as well as helps in the treatment for oily skin and acne.

Can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well. 🌵 Cactus Water – contains antioxidants in order to help flush your skin of toxins. It is full of antioxidants, vitals, and electrolytes which protect the skin against sun damage an fight aging and collagen loss.

🌱 Willow Bark – ani-inflammatory and antibacterial. Soothes irritated skin and alleviates acne and irritation. This product is an excellent choice for anyone who enjoys a “no-nonsense” approach to skincare.

I especially like that this brand is “Leaping Bunny” certified which means they are cruelty free and do not test on animals. This product and most in the “Glow Recipe” product line are vegan as well.

The texture actually surprised me! I have never used a toner of this consistency which is slightly thick but I really enjoyed it. It spread nicely onto my skin and absorbed well. It left a “dewy” feel on my skin but I prefer this to feeling dried out which many toners I have tried in the past have felt on my already dry skin type.

After testing this product, I plan to buy the larger size of this product since I loved it so much and incorporate it into my daily skincare routine. Glow Recipe is a very affordable option for high-quality skincare products that will deliver results without the high ticket cost.

I am not a big fan of “watermelon” scented products in all honesty which is why I hadn’t tried this product sooner but the scent is so light and natural that it really doesn’t bother me.

This toner is made for all skin types and can be used on your eye area once placed on a cotton pad to refresh the eyes once they are closed. This is one of my staple toners that I use on my facial clients through out the treatment.

I have used both alcohol free and regular with another brand that had herbs or fragrance added to it. The alcohol used is pure grain alcohol which doesn’t overly dry the skin meaning by chemical means like rubbing alcohol.

Pure grain means drinking alcohol that is used as a solvent to extract the essence from the herb while soaking. Just like vanilla because there is no essential oil that can be distilled from it. This toner can be reapplied through out the day as well to refresh the skin.

Please follow the directions on the bottle and if spraying on the face keep your eyes closed while using product an arms length away from your face.

This product works well for me and I’ve used it for months now! I heard witch hazel is really good for your face so it’s always a part of my skin routine now! You get a lot of toner for a good and fair price point!! I have combination skin, though, I think it really does depend on you and your skin specifically.

It might not work for every single person with combination skin, and not for every skin type. You just have to try it out for yourself and see what happens! If it doesn’t work for you, cool, go and try something else! Also, sure, it smells a little weird, but for me, I got used to it after a while and now it doesn’t bother me at all.

Yes, it’s gonna dry out your skin. please look at the back of the product, and you’ll see that there’s 14% NATURAL GRAIN ALCOHOL in the ingredients list. if you put any percent of alcohol on your face, it’s gonna dry it out.

This also dries my skin a bit. That’s why you put your other facial products(serums, etc) and then facial moisturizer on your face afterwards! It’s an absolute must to put moisturizer on your face after you use this toner.

Anyways, in short, I think it works well for me personally! Just give it a go and see if it works for you! It will dry your skin a bit or even a lot(depending on your skin type) bc of the 14% natural grain alcohol in the product, so I suggest using moisturizer on your face afterwards!.

Finest Toner I have ever tried ❤ It’s an alcohol free toner that contains 2% BHA (Salicylic Acid), Papaya Enzymes and Moringa Seed Extract plus Moringa Water. Papaya enzymes gently exfoliates and helps to reveal a fresh looking complexion.

Moringa water removes impurities and BHA deep cleans pores and removes excess oil from the skin. It doesn’t strips off. Good for oily and combination skin. I have tried other brand’s toners as well. I feel COSRX’s and Paula’s Choice BHA Toner can be a substitute for Farmacy’s toner (in case you are out of stock).

The only concern I had in COSRX’s and Paula Choice’s Toner was they are sticky (glycerin type) which makes me uneasy. While Farmacy’s toner is light weight and watery that absorbs well. Therefore I would choose this over the other two.

I always hated putting toner on a cotton ball and wiping it across my face just to feel a tacky residue in its place. But this toner is so much better. The spray attachment makes the hassle of using toner hassle free for me.

And it doesn’t make me feel like I just rubbed a glue stick all over my face. Plus the refreshing feeling of spraying the toner on your face in the morning is a great way to start your day. Highly recommend!.

First off, customer service. – I bought a bundle deal that didn’t have this in it when I thought it would. I mentioned in that review that it may come with various other products instead because I had received a different one.

CS reached out to me and sent me the toner. I wish every company was this good. The toner. – I started off using a Artemisia sheet mask and liked those so well wanted to try the toner and cream. I don’t get a lot of acne but when I do I want it to go away quickly.

When it starts to come on, I use the toner and cream and things settle right back down. Usually within a day or two you can’t tell I had any acne.

This really leaves my skin feeling clean. I have giant pores and haven’t seen much difference there yet but I haven’t been using it long. There is a tip on the bottle about applying it to a cotton round and leaving it on cheeks for 5 minutes.

I’ll have to try that. So far I really like it either way.

It contains fragrance and aromatic oil, which are not good for our skin, everyone + sensitive and acne-prone skin. I do like the smell of green tea – very refreshing, but putting much parfum/oil in skincare is not my thing.

I bought it anyway since I really like Some By Mi’s AHA-BHA-PHA line. Overall, I got breakout and redness from using it for a couple of days. I hope it is not from this product, but it is the only new product in my skincare routine.

To make it fair, I will try it again after the current skin issue is better. But if it causes the same problem, I will have to give it up, for good.

I use this day and night and so far so good. I think it has helped me with my oily skin. as for pores, i think it’s still the same. the product is not drying or strong. it does have a fragrance to it.

Def don’t forget to shake the product well before use.

I was so excited to try out the Rescue Pore Minimizing Toner. I was excited about the ingredients especially the tea tree oil. The packing and the bottle of the toner is definitely eye catching. I enjoyed the fact that the bottle is easy to use with no spillage.

A few things I did not enjoy about the Rescue Pore Minimizing Toner, was the smell and the drying effect it had on my skin. So this product could use a few drops of essential oil in it, the smell was definitely not pleasant what so ever.

I then tried the product on my face and was not to pleased with the result, the Rescue Pore Minimizing Toner dried out my skin very quick, I guess I was under the impression that the tea tree oil would give a little moisture but I was wrong.

I would not recommend this product, because of the smell and it drying my skin.

I’ve incorporated the Rescue Pore Minimizing Toner twice a day into my skincare routine (AM & PM) and really happy with the results.

The solution contains tea tree oil, which I’ve always wanted to try out and has a cooling sensation which I found refreshing. I have noticed my skin appears more radiant, less oily and balanced. My main concern are the large pores on my cheeks.

After using the toner, they aren’t as noticeable as before. My skin is soft, my acne is clearing and I have a nice glow!.

I have tried many different toners and I use them on a daily basis so I am very familiar with them. I have tried drugstore toners as well as high end toners, so I was surprised that this pore minimizing toner could hold its on against all of the other toners that I’ve tried.

I really enjoyed the tea tree which has anti-bacterial properties so my face was left feeling very clean and fresh. The smell may be a bit much for some people but to me it was completely fine. I love how it didn’t leave my face dried out and I didn’t flake nor get a burning sensation.

Overall I did see a improvement when it came to my pores although it wasn’t drastic. I am convinced that with long-term use the results will be amazing.

As the title implies. It stings a bit. I don’t think it for those with super sensitive skin. My skin can tolerate it after a while the feeling dissapear. You do need to wait until it dissapear before putting another product coz it will intensify.

Overall I dont see any improvement yet as I only use it sparingly for two weeks. Only when i feel my skin need thorough toning.

Amazing product! I know it is not possible to shrink the pores, BUT believe me, this product does it! I don’t know how, but every day I look in the mirror and my enlarged pores are smaller in size. It has an amazing ingredient list.

A must have for people with sensitive skin! This does not contain any irritant! I have two others from Etude house and Nature Republic. Those two leaves a stinging sensation a few moments after application.

This one does not do that. I also noticed how my pores visible minimized after days of using this one. Got mine at Althea. com btw 💕.

Was a long-time (~4 years) user of the rare earth pore-refining moisturizer. Since they discontinued it decided to buy this to see if it would help mattify, but does nothing. My skin is still oily after using it.

Maybe for 5 min it absorbs the oil. But after 30-60min all the oil comes back. Wish they never discontinued the rare earth moisturizer. This was not a good replacement. Don’t buy if you think you’ll have the same effects as the moisturizer.

I’ve been using this toner since 2018 and I have yet to find one that’s better for my skin. I wouldn’t recommend this to someone with dry or sensitive skin, it has alcohol and other drying ingredients.

However, I have oily/acneic skin and it works wonders. It keeps me more matte through the day, its helps heal my breakouts and prevent further ones, but don’t use it everyday because its quite harsh.
