20 Best Toner For Skin Lightening (2023 Updated)

I like this product. I’ve used it for a few months now and have noticed a difference. I use it after the boldem cleanser, so maybe that helps. Either way, my dark spots have faded. The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is because it leaves my face feeling dry.

I usually use their shea oil after a few minutes to help put back moisture.

This is a great toner for the 3/5/7 skin method when you layer a toner several times to get light-weight but juicy hydration. It’s very light and absorbs fast but packs a real hydration punch, even with just 3 layers.

Nice for summer or for oily/normal skin and those who don’t like heavy products.

This toner is lightweight and very watery but sits well on the skin. This keeps my skin hydrated and rejuvenated. Gentle on the skin and fragrance free which I like. I also soak cotton pads and let them sit on my face for 10 minutes and the feeling after is amazing.

As said in the description. This is toner is great for soothing my skin no matter what state it is in. I particularly found it calming and cooling my skin when it was red and inflamed. However it did not stand out to me.

So although I would recommend it for those with sensitive skin, it has not stopped my search in finding the best toner.

this is my current go to toner. previously i used a lot the I-unik rose toner, and i wanted one slightly more nourishing for winter. this one is a watery toner : not sticky, not thick at all, but is has a tiny bit of humectant in which gives a creamy finish but in the lightest way possible, nothing like the Laneige one for instance.

it smells a tiny bit like flowers, its super sutle tho. my skin is very sensitive and takes it well. the formula is elegant and it plumps the skin nicely. i dont know about the glow because i have a lot of rosacea so its a bit hard to juge this but this is such a great product buy it eyes closed.

Texture is not watery but more like a syrup. It has a mild floral scent which disappears quickly after applying. Skin appears to be hydrated and glow after use. It doesn’t leave a sticky/ oily film on the skin like some of other thick toners.

I didn’t expect much from this since it’s the first product I bought from this brand, but I find myself reaching to this toner more nowadays. The price is not the cheapest but giving the 200ml volume, it’s actually not bad for a good toner.

I’ve heard of this brand via Korean youtubers so when I saw it was on sale I grabbed two lol. The packaging is nice – it comes in a sturdy plastic bottle, so it’s not as fragile and heavy as glass but also doesn’t feel cheap.

Maybe I’ve bought into the hype, but the toner is quite hydrating and not like the watery kind. It’s a touch sticky, but nothing too unbearable so I like it. It’s got so many ferments and I’m lucky my skin likes that stuff.

I’m hoping that this is *the* fermented product I can incorporate into my routine so I have high hopes. It can be a bit out of some people’s price range, but I did some math on some other popular toners and the price per mL isn’t that different.

If you’re looking for a ‘thick’ hydrating toner and ferments do well for your skin, you could give this one a try.

🪴 Also, the antioxidant and soothing ingredients such as snail secretion filtrate, Portulaca ole racea extract, aloe sources( aloe barbadensis leaf water, leaf extract) helps to soothe my red, inflamed cheeks.

💋I was given the opportunity from @go. picky @bentoncosmetics to try out Benton’s Aloe BHA Skin Toner in exchange for my honest opinion. 🌈Skin type concerns: oily, resilient, acne-prone, aging, hyperpigmentation 🪴Product comes in 200ml dark green, plastic bottle with a translucent lid that goes over a black pump dispenser.

I will go ahead and make note here that the only negative I have for this product is the pump dispenser. It is faulty, so I have to force it to pump. The amount of pressure I have to use makes the product literally hit my hand with such force, that most of the product flies out of my hand.

I just unscrew the pump and pour a little amount into my hand. Prdouct is a clear, ‘water like’ texture that zero smell/fragrance to me. 🪴 It is a toner that I apply 2 times a day in my toner/essence stage directly following my single cleanse in the AM and double cleanse in the PM.

I pour a small amount into hands and tap tap tap all over face, neck and decolletage 🪴This toner provides hydration while also eliminating dead skin cells and impurities, all the while combating blackheads and breakouts and clearing out pores.

Also helps reduce oiliness and has anti-inflammatory properties that help with redness and irritations. 🪴Because the BHA is only 0. 5%, I highly believe that this product would be great/safe for any skintype.

Including sensitive and even super sensitive. 🪴My favorite ingredients in this toner are Sodium Hyaluronate, Snail Secretion Filtrate, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Wate, Extract and Juice, and Salicylic Acid.

Buy there are many noteworthy ingredients. 🪴Super lightweight and absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving it oily or sticky. ✅Final Thoughts: Although my skin is used to a higher amount of BHA, I have still been using this daily because I find that it helps provide the type of non-occlusive moisture that my skin needs.

This is my first Benton Product. But its been on my list of brands to try. So when i was picked to try this product out i was ecstatic. Ive been using this toner for almost a month. Heres a little bit about the product and my thoughts….

Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner promises to “hydrate and prep your skin to help with the absorption of skincare products in the next step in your routine. ” Ingredients include Aloe with Soothes and moisturizes.

Salicylic Acid which exfoliates, helps reduce sebum, and contains anti-inflammatory properties and Snail Mucin which brings back moisture to skin. After almost a month of use on my combo skin i havent had any reactions or breakouts.

My skin has been more radiant and soft after using it. It really goes well with the other permanent products in my routine. The aloe has done wonders with soothing my poor over heated skin. Its very moisturizing but not too much to the point where it makes me oil.

I havent had any excess oiliness which is great. This is a really great toner. Definitely worth the $19.

For a while I couldn’t find a good toner for my oily skin, some were super drying and others would make my skin more oily. Stumbled upon this toner about 5 years ago and I haven’t needed to try a new one since! It makes my pores smaller, preps my skin nicely for moisturizer, and DOESN’T break me out.

Couldn’t recommend this product enough for how much success I’ve had with it over the years. I’m a big fan of all of the Skinfood lines, especially this one and the Egg White. Every time I use this toner my skin feels so refreshed like I dunked my head in cool water.

I am a huge fan of Korean toners and I am a huge fan of the brand Skinfood, particularly their wash off masks. I wanted to love this product because of its adorable packaging, awesome scent, and equally awesome price point, but my skin dislikes this toner, no matter how I try to convince it otherwise.

Everything about applying it is pleasant, until right after I am done and my skin feels tight and burns slightly. At first it feels very refreshing, but that tight and dry sensation comes and , even after moisturizer, remains.

Like the old school American astringents I used to use, except after a day or two, I began to breakout around my T zone. Not horrifically, but enough to stop using the product. My skin doesn’t tolerate this toner, but I still think it’s worth a shot because of the other pros.

Its harsh for myself, but if your skin likes it, then it is an affordable, cute, and classic toner. I have combination acne prone, somewhat sensitive skin and I am going to try the Tea Tree toner I recently purchased to try and get my skin to bounce back.

I am, however, curious about the BB Cream, and other products in this line!.

Y’all this was a game changer! I bought all three products in the peach sake line and wow, they worked so well!! I’ve been searching for skincare that truly made my pores look smaller and refined for ages (like since high school probably) and this trio is PERFECT.

I’ve tried products from Neutrogena to Mineral Fusion and everything in-between. Their results weren’t even close to this! I can’t stress enough how great it is to find products that finally finally work! On to the deets – The scent was nice, and the glass bottles made me feel like I was pampering myself.

It definitely smells like peach vodka/sake, but it wasn’t overpowering. A little goes a long way, and the bottles are designed so that you don’t accidentally pour out too much. Even though it’s not advertised as a deep cleaning system, I still felt like my face was fresh and clean after each use.

I used the products in the morning after my Muddy Body Pure cleanser, then went in with my usual makeup routine. Not only did my skin look 10x smoother, but I noticed I stayed oil-free much longer! So like I said, if you’ve been on a quest for pore refining skincare, look no further!.

My skin is oily, sensitive, and acne-prone. I have many closed comedones and do get cysts from time to time especially along my jawline. The jawline area tends to get super dry easily (peeling, flaking) if I overdo a product or use a product that’s too strong.

I use this toner after the Boscia purifying cleanser (green bottle). I just tap some onto a cotton pad and wipe it over my face in circular motions. It does a great job of immediately tightening pore and just making your skin feel fully cleansed, balanced and refreshed.

It does tingle for sure, so I immediately follow up with a moisturizer (I like Boscia’s green tea oil free moisturizer) and that helps the tingling subside immediately. After first using it, the next day I saw a major improvement in my skin.

Less oily, the blackheads were disappearing, and overall balanced skin. After using it for approx 2-3 weeks now, I have noticed my closed comedones have lessened, I can’t remember the last time I had a cyst, and I have very few (if any) blackheads.

So far no more whiteheads, either. Definitely will be a must-have for me. TIP: I saved the plastic “stopper” that it came packaged with for travel – it’s easy to put on and take off, and prevents any product from spilling in your bag.

Just rip off the tabs connected to the stopper for ergonomic purposes.

I have noticeable acne scarring (dark spots and a few pitted scars). I have tried an INSANE number of products, I mean literally I have spent tens of thousands of dollars on products targeted for dark spots, resurfacing, and acne treatment & prevention.

This product is one i picked up on a whim, and actually kept under my bathroom sink for a month or two before I even tried it (since I had so many other products to try first that to me seemed more promising).

Eventually I made my way to this toner, and honestly the first time I used it, it burned like crazy. To be fair, I had been using a ton of other exfoliating-type products prior to this so my skin was already hypersensitive.

I put the toner away for another week or two and focused on restoring my skin’s biome, and when it didn’t feel super red and hypersensitive anymore, I came back to this toner. This time, it still burned a bit in certain spots (namely where I had active blemishes), but I persisted.

I used this twice a day for the past 2-3 weeks and OMG, my face looks insanely GOOD!!! I have absolutely NO visible pores, my dark spots have lightened up SIGNIFICANTLY, and for the first time in forever, I actually have a smooth glow to my skin and feel confident enough to be seen without full coverage foundation.

I think generally people try to avoid talking about the serious toll dark spots can take on a person’s self-esteem, and the lengths we will go to in order to avoid anyone else ever seeing them. But it can be pretty damaging mentally and emotionally! This is the very first product of several hundred targeted products I’ve tried (literally!) that has actually made such an improvement that I can honestly say it has been life-changing.

I cannot say enough good things about this toner. If the stinging is unbearable, work on rebuilding your skin’s biome and then try the toner again. It might still sting a little bit, but I swear it’s so worth it because it is ACTUALLY working and the results will speak for themselves!.

Some of these these reviews make me laugh. “I used once and I broke out” OR “I used for a week and I broke out” these people do not know how to introduce skincare into their regimen. This is why I take many reviews lightly on products.

I am aware that everyone’s skin is different. But EVERYONE knows to slowly introduce a new skin care product slowly into their regimen. Makes me angry. This toner had worked wonderfully for my skin. I am 41.

I suffer from cystic acne in my jawline, and this took care of this within 6 weeks. (Even helped with “maskne”. Yes it does sting af first – as the bottle CLEARLY states but it’s Apple Cider Vinigar! The but ing sensation subsided after a few weeks – after SLOWLY incorporating this toner into Mt regimen.

People do your research, and smarten you! Totally great product. I love it and in will forever repurchase.

My rose water tones wasn’t able to keep up to my new face routine which includes peptides, retinol and acids. My combo skin went from oily/normal to oily/dry. (But I have to admit, the oily sections are half as oily as before starting this routine).

Anyhow. Off i went to begin hunting for extra moisture. I tried few moisturizers but that didn’t cut it, I needed bigger guns. I set my eyes on this black rice toner from the K-beauty world. It had quite great reviews, stating it also helped as anti-aging.

I paired this with a marine hyaluronic acid serum and it is AMAZING. After only 5 days of use, my face is so plumped up, my complexion took a turn for the better almost as magic happened! This toner is a bit different from your usual toner.

It is a clear liquid which has a bit of viscosity. I prefer to pour a little bit on my palms, rub my hands and pat it on my face (instead of using a cotton round, it would be a waste of product). I highly suggest this toner if you are dealing with dehydration.

Love. I have dry skin & this is the best post cleanse toner for me. I tried the Laneige milky toner moisturizer and that broke me out. This one I tap on and let it soak in, then layer my moisturizer/SPF and it doesn’t cause anything to pill.

Adding this to my my already moisture focused regimen has done wonderful things for my fine lines–giving this credit bc everythign else I use is great but this has boosted them. I also love to use this before I use a red light mask.

I haven’t used this on super humid days yet, so not sure if it’s a step I’ll continue in the summer. I will say it has been a nice extra step after being out in the sun, I’ve also sprinkled on chest & shoulders.

I (sensitive and severely dry skin type with mild-low mid level rosacea) got a sample of this in my last order and used it for the first time tonight. Did my usual cleansing routine and then threw this on, following the directions to a T.

Within about a minute my pores were much less noticeable and my rosacea was NOTICEABLY lighter and clearer. I had never been capable of getting the redness to reduce so much before. There was very minimal fragrance and it gave my skin absolutely no issues whatsoever.

It absorbed very quickly and left my skin looking supple and glowy. Even my dark circles under my eyes brightened. I 100% recommend after just one use, especially for those with issues similar to me.

I’m planning on buying this size when I get the money!.

I have combination skin, mostly oily. Definitely acne prone. I just purchased this toner three days ago and I love it. It’s super lightweight. Feels refreshing and calming to the skin. Not oily or tacky.

I have PCOS so there’s times where my breakouts are intense, like now. It’s been 3 days since I purchased the sample set that includes the serum as well (probably what brought my attention to this line) my acne is finally going down.

Could be my hormones, could be many factors or it could be INNISFREE. Just saying lol.

Effectively decreases the intensity of dark spots, brightens and toned skin well. Results can be seen after 5-6 weeks. The scent of the toner is quite light, and presumably natural, but it was slightly unpleasant.

Another drawback to this toner is that it is mildly sticky when you first put it on. I continue to use this toner regularly as I have not found a non-sticky, pleasant smelling toner that produces such great results.

I know people talk mess about MLM’s, bit this brand IS LEGIT! I have the Redefine set and it all works very well and I always see results. I like skincare that shows results after one use. YES, AFTER ONE USE!!! Maybe I have to pay super close attention to my skin, but I don’t think so.

There are spectacular products out there that actually work wonders overnight. Thank Goodness there are ways to REVERSE REDEFINE!!!! 🐞.

Already on the second bottle. Finally a toner that doesn’t dry my skin and instead it makes it very soft. I use it every evening as part of my evening routine. It both cleanses and softens and makes it ready for my night serum.

It last pretty long and is an absolute must have. In order to see brightening results you need to be consistent same as any other vitamin C product and if you do that results will show. Highly recommending.

HOLY COW. Winter has my skin unveliebable dry and dull esp with heater use. I’ve been using it for 3 days and my skin Is noticeably brighter. I noticed a difference even after one day, but consistently using it for 3 I know this stuff is legit.

Holy grail toner status for my dry combo skin for sure! It doesnt irritate even when I use spot treatment with salicylic acid. If you have dry, dull skin this stuff is gonna be your new best skin friend.

The only thing that concerns me is that it is sort of that dark yellow of oxidized vitamin C and the bottle is clear which is not great for vitamin C products. Would prefer a dark bottle but I keep mine in its box to be safe.

But even with my concerns that stuff has worked better than any vitamin C toner I’ve tried. Please never stop making this and dont change the formula.

I never really understood the purpose of toner so hadn’t tried one out in ages. Decided on a whim to give this Complexion Toner a try. I was impressed after only the first couple of nights, but now that it’s been a couple of weeks and the results have remained consistent, I wanted to post a review because I love this stuff.

I am IN AWE of the great transformation my skin has had: my ever-present large t-zone pores have disappeared and haven’t come back since. I’ve never had any product have a positive effect on this aspect of my skin.

While the odor is strong (but only for a moment), I personally don’t think it’s unpleasant. This toner is a totally refreshing experience at bedtime. Palmer’s — please don’t ever stop making this formula because it has found a spot in my absolute must-haves.

I used to to the Palmer’s Acne Soap bar, but during pandemic I had trouble getting more. So I tried Neutrogena products (the water based line since I have OILY skin) my skin got WORSE. I had very big breakouts all over my face and neck.

It hurt and it was terrible. I ready your skin has to purge when you switch facecare products. I kept looking to see when the acne var would be available again. So in the meantime I got SO many Palmer’s products.

I now use the Skin Success line: Deep Cleaning Astringent, Complexion Toner, Anti-Acne Medicated Complexion Bar, Anti Dark Spot Complexion Bar, Dark Spot Correcting Facial Cleanser, Anti Dark Spot Fade Cream for Oily skin during the day and the Anti Dark Spot Fade Cream for Night.

I even use the Skin Therapy Face Oil and the Moisture Rich Night Cream. I started feeling real relief at the 4 week mark or reincorporating these products. I noticed at the 5 week mark my skin feels so supple and smooth.

I’m seeing more overall skin clarity. I still have the dark spots from my acne (I think I need a good facial or two to get rid of that) but no new acne has come! My skin is really coming along again and I will never stray.

I just wish Palmer’s made a sunblock and eye cream. I still use a Neutragena sun block though. So it’s hard to say if any one product helped me since I basically use it all! I even use the Purifying Enzym Mask once a week.

The toner and astringent are great for when I go camping and find it difficult to wash my wash. So much dirt comes off! I’m a Palmers girl for life!.

I’ve been using this for a few weeks, and I really like it. It contains beta hydroxy, tea tree oil, witch hazel, and vitamin E. You can smell the tea tree oil, but it’s not overpowering. I use after washing my face, and it’s very gentle.

It leaves my face clean, but doesn’t make it feel dry. My skin does look more even, but my dark spots are completely good. Overall, it’s a great toner that leaves your skin feeling great and brighter.

Over this toner is OKAY. I wish I would have noticed that the majority of the reviews were incentivized. The packaging is nice and I like the size of the bottle and how much comes out when you pour. Now for the actual product.

First and for most, this toner smells awful. It’s almost like putting vinegar on your face. Secondly, it’s tacky feeling. It doesn’t matter whether you put it on dry skin or damp—you will notice it’s still there.

My skin has cleared up some using this toner but honestly I don’t look forward to using just because the smell. I was hoping to find a replacement for glow recipe, but 100% this is NOT it.

Wow wow. This makes a huge difference in my skin. I was using it every other night but definitely suggest to use every night once your skin has acclimated. I prefer this to retinol as you can’t use both.

My nighttime routine is putting a little puddle right on my hand and then using my other hand to rub it around my face and neck. I use my eye serum and then top with moisturizer. My skin is brighter, smoother, even helps control my oily skin throughout the day.

I got this product not even two weeks ago. I have definitely been using it incorrectly. I bought it specifically for hyperpigmentation. I did not realize this was an acid toner (which I have used others in the past and loved), and that is my bad for not reading the instructions.

I was using this as a daily toner BUT not only was I using it daily LOL I was using it in the morning and my Paul’s Choice BHA at night. Needless to say, my skin freaked!! The last two weekends my skin has completely peeled off as if I had a sun burn or something.

I literally looked like a snake shedding. My skin has been super sensitive and burns whenever I put serum on. It’s also been extremely dry. I’ve been using Ren’s intensive night repair mask and and Youth To the People face oil religiously to try and nourish my skin back to life.

After the second time of that happening, I went online to see if others experienced this and to read how to use. Now that I know how to use it, it does leave my skin glowing. While I have not noticed and probably won’t for a while any difference in the hyperpigmentation, I have high hopes.

I’ve never used this brand before and I bought a few of their products. Looking forward to good results! All in all, make sure you read how to use this first when adding to your skincare routine!! This is NOT a daily use toner.
