Best Tom Ford Fragrance For Men (2023 Updated)

This is one of the best in Tom Ford’s Private Collection. It’s dark, with a prominent cypress note along with tons of resins and cedar and just a hint of citrus. To me, it’s not sweet at all; it’s dry, herbal, almost acrid but in the most beautiful way.

It smells kind of formal to me. I also find it more masculine than unisex, but still, it’s not something that a confident woman cannot wear. A great scent to be worn during the Mediterranean summer, with good -though not as good as the ouds in the collection- lasting power.

Italian Cypress enters with zesty citrus and fresh green notes, soon after subtle minty/menthol notes join the fray. As the heart phase takes hold the cypress note opens out and present its Mediterranean green and warming embrace, with green resinous notes appearing that add warm and depth, this is the masterpiece stroke that sets this fragrance apart.

In my mind I am walking up a path in Tuscany with the late afternoon sun wafting beautiful green and resinous aromas from the tall cypress trees bordering the path, I feel free and confident in me and my surroundings.

Wear anytime during the year, however it really comes to life in heat, a warm breeze in a sunny climate seems to awake and lift the cypress and resinous notes, wafting in waves of gorgeous scent clouds.

Silage is moderate with a well defined scent cloud enveloping the wearer, however warm air lifts and wafts the scent further. Longevity is very good, and the skin scent persistent. The woods feel a little smoky like smouldering woods that have been in the direct sunlight for to long.

I love how this fragrance has a combination of fresh citrus with warm woods with a stunning cypress note. The clove then asserts its presence but never discriminates. It’s incredibly warming and shifts away from the Italian side of things.

The clove gives the fragrance a gourmand light cinnamon vibe, with the natural intoxicating sweetness of clove aromatically shining. It wraps itself in the heart of woods and resins around a beautiful cypress body.

A subtle, classy, high quality fragrance.

Noir Extreme by Tom Ford is an amazing fragrance, assuming you don’t mind a somewhat headier scent. The citrus and florals combine with sandalwood and amber in a surprising fashion, with all of them under-toned by a rich earthly vanilla.

To be honest, headier spicy fragrances don’t usually work well with my body chemistry, so I wasn’t sure how this would suit me. Plot twist; it actually smells kind of amazing on me! At first I tried it out at home, just to see how I would like it.

The orange blossom and jasmine smell amazing, and surprisingly the Indian kulfi worked really well on my skin too. The sandalwood and amber merge with the fresher notes without overpowering them and overall it makes a really interesting and compelling fragrance, the kind of scent that you can’t quite put your finger on the different notes because they dance around with each other and make a kind of shifting fragrance story.

One moment I pick up the orange blossom, later the vanilla, and then later again the rose absolute. I decided to wear to a friend’s wedding and I swear I had 6 separate people ask me what I was wearing because they all liked it so much, including my Ex who was really interested in what it was.

I can’t ignore that level of proof, this is definitely a amazing and surprising fragrance. I will say, going back to the beginning of this review, this is a headier fragrance, it’s not sometime would probably wear everyday.

My daily routine includes more of a light/fresh type of scent, but I will definitely wear this for dinners and go out in the evening. The packaging is pretty stunning too, the bottle is made of a very rich deep cocoa colored glass that is dense and heavy, and it’s trimmed in metallic gold.

Tom Ford is known for his undeniable level of taste and Noir Extreme is no exception. 5 out of 5, def recommend!.

This cologne is filled with rich blend of spicy and citrusy fragrance which comes out as a little less masculine at first but once the smell settles in, it gives away sandalwood and vanilla ember aroma for a creamy, woody finish.

This balances out the overall fragrance for a long lasting/not over-powering smell of spice, wood, and sweet all into one. Not my ultimate favorite collection of Tom Ford, but I think it is worth the purchase.

I received this Tom Ford fragrance for free from Influenster and Tom Ford in exchange for my honest review. This used to remind me of Carlisle from Parfums de Marly (I guess it must have been the saffron, nutmeg and vanilla), but with each additional wear, I tend to think that this is closer to La Nuit de l’Homme than anything else, with vanilla on top to lend it a gourmand aspect.

It may seem odd to compare those two, but the cardamom is central in both scents, and both are rolled up into a well blended whole wrapped up in woody and flowery undertones. The gourmand aspect of Noir Extrême obviously sets them apart, however I dare anyone to spray them side to side, and notice the similarities.

The flowery tones are also quite different, as lavender is quite prominent in LNDLH. There is no doubt that Noir Extrême has plenty of qualities: it is very well blended, it performs really well, and it has a real nice, mass-appealing scent profile.

This is quite a safe pick for fall and winter if you and your surroundings don’t mind a gourmand type of scent. I wish it had a bit more character, or perhaps that certain notes had more pop to them, or that they did not all equally be part of the composition.

It’s not a real issue in that it goes to show how the notes are well blended. But this is why I would pick Carlisle, Herod or Layton before I would pick this up: something special unfolds when you wear those, and the sillage that they leave has something both mysterious and cozy.

Noir Extrême reminds me more of the classic Pert Plus shampoo smell (LNDLH reminisces me of that every time!), with a really nice vanilla backbone. Nevertheless, this is a great entry-level scent among gourmands, as it is not too daring, but it’s very well-built and performs in real satisfactory manner.

It may not ooze with personality, but it’s far from boring or unpleasant. In a few words: Imagine La Nuit de l’Homme with added vanilla, and different flowery undertones. Pros: Quite versatile and mass-appealing for a gourmand scent.

Very good performance. Cons: Lacks character a little bit. Overall rating (out of five stars): ★★★½.

Noir Extreme Parfum is a rich, long lasting fragrance. The first notes I smell when I spray it on are spicy notes (mainly ginger) and flowery notes (mainly rose). In a weird, but positive, way, the opening also has a sweet gasoline-like undertone to it that makes it smell luxurious.

Definitely a unique scent, unlike anything else in my fragrance collection that comprises of mostly blue and fougere fragrances (but I haven’t smelled the original version of Noir Extreme, so I can’t make a comparison to that).

This fragrance fades to a beautiful prominently leathery-amber scent that lasts for many hours. I can see this scent being a bit polarizing though, as it’s not something everyone is used to, so I’d recommend sampling it before buying a full bottle.

Since I got this fragrance, I’ve worn it a couple times a week. I see it as being more suitable for nighttime and upscale occasions. I personally prefer to wear bluer fragrances during the daytime and as my daily fragrances, but I see this working great as a daily for people who dress more upscale on a daily basis.

I’d categorize this scent as masculine, but also slightly unisex, as I can see it working for women in the right occasions, given the flowery top/mid notes. The bottle is an absolutely beautiful and work of art, hands down the nicest-looking bottle in my fragrance collection.

The bottle itself has a super shiny gold-colored finish and the ridged cap complements the bottle. The bottle perfectly matches the elegance of the scent in my opinion. The scent is very long lasting on my skin, lasts about 10-12 hours before it starts to fade completely, and I still get whiffs of it after showering before bed.

This scent is well composed but refined, and considering the price, I can’t say it’ll be “full-size bottle worthy” for everyone. I’d highly recommend sampling it at least once if the note breakdown seems like something you’re looking for.

Fougère d’Argent by Tom Ford is a Amber Fougere fragrance for women and men. Fougère d’Argent was launched in 2018. Fougère d’Argent was created by Olivier Gillotin and Linda Song. Top notes are Lavender, Ginger and Mandarin Orange; middle notes are Akigalawood and Labdanum; base note is Coumarin, according to Fragrantica.

Fougère d’Argent is branded unisex by virtue of its inclusion in the Private Blend line, but even a deviation from the traditional fougere rings masculine. Tom Ford strongly bounced back to his significant sense, with this fragrance and once again earned my respect and my money.

FA opens with a beautiful mouthwatering “ginger-y” orange scent, so juicy and vibrant to my taste. The opening is actually quite nice! I don’t smell any mandarin, but it’s fresh somehow! There are absolutely no sharp tone whatsoever as usually found in citrusy notes.

It smells like warm gingerbread cookies dipped in chlorinated water. That would be the ginger and lavender! The main stars in the opening and makes the transition to mid are ginger and lavender which gives that barbershop/shaving cream classy vibe.

Fougere d’Argent is noticeably sweeter than most fougeres and perhaps that’s in the more modern trend of masculine fragrances leaning sweeter! In the dry down the coumarin, lavender and ginger gives this a distinctly minty accord.

I’m also get hints of incense here that just makes this scent linger in the air or maybe it’s the Akigalawood which apparently is a note I love as its supposedly like patchouli, pepper and oud. This may be a fougere scent but its definitely not as traditional and rather blended quite well and takes a twist on a genre that many may find dated and modernizes it.

FA it’s a very elegant and sophisticated fragrance which could be used year round in any situations. This cologne is glorious. There’s no other word for it. It opens with a burst of dark leather and a haze of jasmine, like a saddle tossed into a summer field after a hard ride, a bit musky and sweet and definitely sexy.

Wildly sexy. It mellows down into amber and oakmoss, with the leather blending with a clean musk. There’s a midpoint that smells like a lush temple incense, some mixture of musk and patchouli and leather and jasmine that is sublime, completely sublime.

This is a beast, and a gorgeous one at that. Staying power is incredible, with 7 hours on the skin and still getting compliments, and days on clothing. The silage is intense as well. This isn’t one for the office, and you don’t want it to be, either.

This is a cologne for pure enjoyment — going out, going on a date, or going to bed with your date. It’s expensive, but the eau de parfum is worth it. It is sex appeal in a bottle. A down-market dupe is Cremo’s Vintage Suede, but if you can afford the real deal, get it.

I wouldn’t recommend this as a blind buy, unless you know that you (or the recipient) wear leather very well. It’s worth getting the tester, but beware — you or your significant other will be addicted.

I bought the travel size at first, because I was afraid it might land too masculine on me. I am an alpha female, so I can rock a good unisex fragrance if theirs enough notes in it to be soft around the edges, and Ombré Leather does that for my body chemistry.

At first spray, your going to get a strong hit of leather, which comes off extremely masculine. After that, it starts to dry down into a beautiful jasmine leather that leans more feminine, which I find beautiful.

This scent has been controversial because of the hard leather note, but if you just wait a bit, you will discover that theirs more than meets the eye with this baby. After about 45 mins, the leather actually dries down to a beautiful jasmine on my skin that’s both sensual and beautiful.

is a wonderful fragrance for man or woman. I have picked this up and used it multiple times, and finally broke down and bought me a bottle, because I fell in love with the dry down. Don’t let the leather note fool you.

A woman can pull this off, if she’s the right kind of woman. My husband loves this on me. He doesn’t think it pulls too masculine on me at all. The more I use it, the more I begin to love it more and more.

The black leather, violet flower, jasmine flower, and vetiver make this fragrance a beautiful one of a kind scent. I’m glad I finally purchased my own bottle. It’s good stuff. Don’t be hesitant. The dry down is where the magic happens people.

(I purchased this at full price from Sephora / Not a complimentary sample) This was such a unique scent. At first, I honestly hated it! Who would pay these extreme prices to smell like a piece of leather? But I kept the tester-strip from sephora with me.

and kept getting whiffs of it. It got to the point where I ‘craved it’ and ended up loving it enough to buy a full-sized 3. 4 oz bottle! At first spray, it definitely does smell like a piece of leather.

but don’t walk away yet. Within a few minutes it settles down and smells almost like a mix of premium leather (like a designer handbag or jacket) with a hint of maybe raspberry to it? It’s very nice and hangs around all day (or more).

2 sprays is plenty to last a full day, and if you get any on your clothes it’ll last for a week. It’s very nice, not overwhelming and keeps a lovely fragrance with you the entire time. During the day you’ll get little whiffs of it and begin to miss it when you’re not wearing it! I do recommend the Eau De Parfum over the Parfum as the scent does seem different between them.

One other nice benefit is that since it doesn’t smell like a perfume or cologne, I’ve found myself spraying things like a pair of high-end headphones to keep that fresh leather scent, and even spraying a shirt lightly with a half-spray before wearing it to keep that scent with me all day.

Composition: Frank Sinatra – I’ve Got You Under My Skin Yes, it’s noir. But there is no gloom and pessimism here. This scent conveys completely different emotions. It immerses you in the warm atmosphere of the evening.

I just took it from the post office, just one zilch there, mmmmm noir convinced me, about 4 times I really decided on it, the price is not cheap, an excellent smell for a man, a real correct expensive perfume that, like a classic, deserves an honorable 2nd place on my shelf!.

Outstanding fragrance and I am only very surprised that it did not became more popular or overhyped. It is oerfect balance of citrusy bergamot notes at the begining, in the head. More and more amazing woody masculinity is coming to the front but there is also amazing sweet note of the musk and amber.

Crispy and seductive parfume in stunning flacone, I do not know how Tom Ford came with this package design but I can not get enough.

But I do know that when Debenhams was still trading, I went into one of their stores and I smelt every one of the Tom Ford fragrances for men and women and they were all very, very, very nice indeed.

It reminds me somewhat of Cinnabar by Estée Lauder (which I love) in that it smells like everything wonderful about Fall. It’s warm, spicy, woodsy, yet slightly sweet -the perfect combination! My husband and I both tried it.

It’s strong at first but not overpowering and works very well with my husband’s body chemistry as well as mine. I loved it on him. He likes it too but actually likes it better on me so it just depends on your fragrance preferences.

I will definitely be using every last drop myself! It smells rich, and spicy-not too sweet and is blended so well that it’s hard to describe. It smells like everything luxurious, warm, and delicious that I love about Fall and Winter.

It smells so good in fact that I would love this scent in a candle, soap, lotion, room spray -you name it! It is an expensive perfume, but I think it’s worth it. This bottle will last a very long time (you don’t need to use much) and I’d rather buy one bottle of this than several other less expensive ones.

I typically don’t like fragrances with these note breakdowns despite the fact that the notes themselves seem like they’d be a perfect combination. I find many gourmand scents of this nature are overly sweet or don’t blend well together.

I also often find that Tom Ford quality is amazing but the scents don’t meet my preferences for the price tag. I was therefore very surprised to find that this was exactly what I was looking for from the scent profile.

The spices give a unique (to me) warm smell and while the fragrance is sweet I’d equate it to a gourmet pistachio ice cream where the nuttiness in flavor (here spices) are just as prominent as the sweetness.

It smells more like a baked good that is semi-sweet and the flavors you’d get in a real kitchen. The scent also lasts at least 8 hours for me and doesn’t change all that much during the wear down. Despite such high praise this lost a star for two reasons.

First as a personal preference I’d still prefer something slightly less sweet with a bit more potency. Second the house just released a new parfum version (vs. this EDP concentration) that gives exactly what I feel I wish this one would be.

I’d rank that 5 stars and this 4 as a result, but if you prefer a sweeter scent you may want this version. Also if the note break down of Indian spices with a bit of a creamy background doesn’t sound appeals this may not be for you regardless of quality and I always recommend trying before you buy at this price point.
