20 Best Toddler Mattress For Crib (2023 Updated)

We purchased 2 of these mattresses when we found out I was having twins and after a months use, the middle of the mattress is already sinking in! my twins were also preemies so this should NOT be happening.

Very disappointing. Would have returned them but they were bought early on in my pregnancy so we missed the return window. I do NOT recommend this mattress.

We just learned that our next door neighbors are pregnant. My 9-year-old daughter asked if we could gift the Sealy OptiCool 2-Stage Cool Foam Crib and Toddler Mattress to them. The Sealy OptiCool 2-Stage Crib and Toddler Mattress measures 51.

This means it is certified for indoor air quality and low chemical emissions for a healthier indoor environment. Second, this mattress meets the Children’s Safe Products Act and Chemical of High Concern of Children regulation.

I feel confident that it has been tested and meets these chemical regulations and that no harsh chemicals were added. Next, this mattress offers dual firmness that grows with the baby; with a firmer infant side and a softer toddler side to babies/toddlers comfortable and well-supported.

Lastly, while putting together the neighbor’s crib, my daughter and the 5-year-old neighbor girl got tired. They both laid on the mattress and quickly were asleep. When my daughter woke up she couldn’t stop saying how comfortable the mattress was.

This crib/toddler mattress is amazing. Like most parents, I want to know that my child is both safe and comfortable. We are using this mattress for our grandchild’s toddler bed for when she stays with us overnight.

What we like about this mattress is that it’s firm and does not have a chemical smell to it. It is very easy to clean. I would highly recommend this. Happy Grandmother!.

My Newfoundland love these as dog beds. They are waterproof and comfy foam. I buy a crib sheet too. So I occasionally take the sheet off and wash it. Durable, waterproof and less expensive than giant dog beds.

Not to mention the ease of washing a sheet compared to a dog bed cover!.

First off, I got this mattress for my small dogs. I have a memory foam topper on my bed and the dogs love laying on it, so I thought I would get something that supports them better but forms to their bodies for comfort just like a memory foam should.

This unit may be legally memory foam, but I would put it in the category of a basic foam mattress. Maybe because it’s 5 inches thick memory foam that it has to be stiff to prevent crib casualties, but there is nothing indicating that it is stiffer than the memory foam toppers in the stores.

In addition, the Millard company itself only calls it memory foam in the small print on the back of the product info. The advert picture on the front calls it a “foam crib mattress”, And that’s exactly how it behaves.

I love this full size crib mattress, it was a bit nosy and hard with the waterproof cover so I removed it and the mattress foam is so comfortable, he no longer wakes at all hours of the night crying.

In fact he sleeps until I go into his bed in the morning to wake him. The other mattress that we were using was hard and cold so I’m very happy with this one.

Bought this on black friday to use as a bed for a 140lb Mastiff. I was hesitant to buy because the weight limit is 50 lbs, but it seems ok. I weigh about 110lb and it felt comfortable. It didn’t compress too much under my weight.

It might not last too long because he’s so heavy but for now it’s awesome! The vinyl cover is waterproof–which is nice–but it can be kind of loud so we put a cozy crate mat on top so it gives the dog a bit more padding and dampens the sound when he’s shifting.

Definitely recommend for large/giant breeds. Thinking about buying another.

I read reviews before purchasing this and wasn’t sure about it because most reviews were from people purchasing it for their pets. I bought this for my four month old. The mattress fit very tight in my crib, which was great.

I was also unsure about it because someone said it was too hard. This mattress is not rock hard at all. I can push on it and there is give in the mattress. The mattress needs to be firm for an infant.

The reason I gave it four stars is because while it is firm-ish. I feel like it could be firmer for a small child. I put my baby on it and it isn’t soft to where she sinks anywhere on it though so it’s not really a problem right now.

I just wouldn’t think it would stay firm over a long period of time. The mattress also shipped in a clear plastic bag and not in a box. Thankfully it wasn’t damaged though.

This mattress is too firm! My 2yr old is not comfortable sleeping on it and i could barely fit it into her crib. I just brought it as a replacement to her “dream on me” mattress because I was starting to feel the springs inside of it.

If I would’ve known this one would be so uncomfortable I would’ve just ordered another one from the “Dream on me” brand. One word of advice. don’t throw out the plastic unless you’re sure your kid will be comfortable and sleep through the night.

Sealy Perfect Rest Crib and Toddler Mattress The Sealy Perfect Rest Crib and Toddler Mattress is a decent mattress for what it is and what you pay for it. It is not my favorite by along shot nor what I would grab as a first-time mattress for a few reasons.

The mattress is economical and has good value for what it is, however, the drawbacks are as follows: the first issue is the fel of the material. Granted there is a bed sheet covering the mattress, it just feels very cheap and plasticky.

Granted this is likely by design to allow for accidents to be easily cleaned off, I just don’t notice it on the other mattresses I have owned which are easily cleaned off with a better feeling material.

Second, the springs feel very stiff, to the point where comfort is likely compromised. I don’t think that safety is an issue here. A little softer springs would be better. The last thing is this mattress lacks double sided varying materials, where one side is more for toddlers and the other for babies.

I wish this had it but again, at this price point it may not be feasible. The other good things are that supposedly there are no harmful chemicals used on the mattress to harm the child. It is hypoallergenic.

Dimensions measure 51. 63 x 27. 25 x 5. 25 inches which allows it to fit most standard toddler beds and cribs. I would purchase again if I was in a pinch. There are other higher end mattresses from Sealy I would consider first though or at least give a minute of consideration to.

Baby really seems to love this mattress! He has been sleeping really well at night, has hardly been waking up and seems far more rested than he was with his older mattress. The mattress fits very nicely in his crib and fits well with all of the crib sheets that I previously owned for the older mattress.

It seems to be made very well; no stray strings or threads. I also like that it can be wiped down and sanitized. The look of it is basic, which that’s all I would expect for a crib mattress, so that’s okay.

The baby really seems to enjoy the switch and that’s more than I can ask for. Overall, it’s a wonderfully comfortable mattress perfect for anyones small human.

Great infant/toddler mattress. I like that it’s waterproof so it’s super easy to clean in case of inevitable accidents. It wipes clean very easily and doesn’t make the loud sound like regular waterproof coated items typically make.

No more stains and hard-to-clean messes on the mattress. I can also finally get rid of all the extra padding and liners under the sheets because it’s no longer necessary. My daughter loves it as well and slept through the night.

She kept saying “so cozy. ” Excellent toddler mattress and she will definitely be using for many years until he transitions into a “big kid bed. “.

I ordered a crib and a mattress for baby #2 coming. I ordered both through BuyBuyBaby, the crib I absolutely love…. But once I set this mattress in there I realized the dimensions were different than my daughters mattress which fit snuggly in her crib.

So I wasn’t sure if it was the crib it’s self or the mattress, but there was enough room between the mattress and the crib railing that if a baby stepped there they could get their leg stuck. I tried my daughters mattress in it and it fit snuggly.

I found the dimensions for my daughters mattress and it was 52” L by 27. 5 W. This Sealy mattress was 51. 67” by 27. 25”. So just make sure you’re comfortable with this not being “snug”… even though it states that… it is definitely not.

This is a gift for my daughter. It hasn’t been used yet but I’ll tell you why I chose this mattress. I’m Gen X. I grew up sleeping on sturdy mattresses with springs! They sure don’t make mattresses like they used to.

When I had my kids there were not all of these choices. I did a bit of research and decided to purchase this. I was very uncomfortable at the thought of putting a baby on a foam mattress. I wanted sturdy springs! The price was great! The features were great! I like how it has sturdy springs, support around the edges and corners, and that it has 2 sides for different ages.

I anticipate this mattress being fabulous for a good 10 years as it’s for babies/toddlers, not adults.

I bought this mattress for my newborn recently. We got the same one last year for my oldest and figured we’d get another one for our second too. It fits perfectly snug in his crib. There are no gaps around the edges.

It also can with a flame retardant cover to go underneath the waterproof covering. Very firm infant side and nice cozy toddler side. 10/10 would highly recommend it.

Feels soft on the toddler side and is memory foam. Way better than the plastic mattress used for infants. My toddler fell right to sleep instead of tossing and turning like she did on her previous plastic coated mattress used for infants.

The infant side does feel very firm. I would definitely recommend this mattress for both a crib mattress and a toddler bed.

BABY MUST HAVE, SERIOUSLY. My little man sleeps in his crib with zero issues now. We had a Dream On Me mattress before and he hated it, it was rock solid and made noise anytime he would move around. This mattress is still firm but WAY softer and makes zero noise.

We got this mattress to go in a second crib at our neighbors house for a nanny share, but our 11 month old daughter was tossing and turning a lot during the night on her first mattress (naturepedic 2 stage on infant side) so we thought we’d switch them and see if it helped.

She has slept AMAZING 3 days in a row! Taking long naps during the day and sleeping very peacefully 7:30pm – 8:00am. It seems so comfortable for her and we are so pleased! Never would have purchased another mattress if we weren’t setting up a second crib, but so glad we did! One note- It is definitely softer than her first so my husband was nervous about it being too squishy.

I’m not sure how we would have felt using it with a 3 month old.

its interior is of a firm foam and is covered by a very soft cotton cloth, in case of any fluid spillage, it is very easy to clean with a wet towel. its sewing is very well made and of great quality.

Thanks to target I got to try this product in return for an honest review. This product was surprisingly better than I could have ever imagined. It’s very durable, well-made, and very nice to look at.

I walked in and caught the little children bouncing on it like it was a trampoline. The crazy thing is their heels never touch the floor, and if you’ve had a not so great mattress before you know what I mean.

So up on the bed it went, I found myself curled up on it asleep. It would have been the best of ever had, and I’ve been as little as the children. 🙂 It was very cool to the touch and I can see how it keeps little ones from sweating so much while sleeping.

Very soft mattress. Not supportive enough for my 25 lb 2 year old. Mattress visibly sags and cups when he sleeps on it and caves in on the edges if he rolls to the sides. Would probably be fine for newborns or infants who don’t move around on their own, but I do not recommend for toddlers.

Good mattress for the money. Not terribly firm but this is for occasional use. Nice design on plastic cover. Mattress seems like it will last well.

I bought this mattress for my 2 year old grandson’s toddler bed and it is a perfect fit. Nice, plush, quality mattress. Mattress is able to fit infant/toddler bed sheet sets. I sat on it to see how durable it was and it held up.

This mattress seriously changed how well our daughter goes to bed, in the best way. We love that this bed has two noticeably different firmnesses on its two sides. We look forward to using the firmer side after our next child arrives, but so far we have only used the softer side for our 20-month-old.

She has always been a pretty easy baby at bedtime, but it wasn’t uncommon for her to rustle quite a bit and sometimes get fussy because it seemed as though she couldn’t get comfortable (we figured it was just normal baby behavior).

Literally the first time we put her down on this new mattress, she appeared to notice something was different, get into a comfy position, and go right to sleep. We figured this was a fluke, but we hoped it wasn’t.

This Sealy 2 cool mattress is great! I love that it fits the crib and toddler bed so I can use it for longer. It is light weight and easy to clean matterial that is waterproof. The mattress design is very gender neutral which is also nice for multiple children to use.

The mattress itself is very comfortable and made well. No strings or anything from stitching it looks for nice. The cooling gel is a nice feature that my little one seems to love.

This is one fantastic top of the line crib mattress. It has a soy bean cooling gel and design Ed for when the baby gets older it cause the other side is designed for a toddler. It has a waterproof cover top and is easy to wipe clean.

It’s a very clean mattress as in it doesn’t use all the harsh chemicals. It’s made very well and fits standard size cribs and toddler beds.

IšverstiShow in original languageWe got this mattress for our son born in May of 2021. Thankfully he didn’t have many accidents where we have to wash the mattress cover. It’s seemingly comfortable, easy to use and my son sleeps great on it.

I will definitely get the same one for our next child due early next year! My only complaint is that the zipper on the mattress cover broke. We only had to take the cover off and wash that less than 10 times I think but with the zipper broken I can no longer use it as the cover and all the covers I find places aren’t full mattress zippered and I can’t seem to find a replacement, maybe I’m missing it somehow.

I fully recommend but I wish you had the zippered cover replacement easier to access to get an extra for those times the zipper broke. Is there a link somewhere we can find it? I’d prefer to get the one the actually goes with the mattress because I know it’ll fit well and work properly with it.

Please help solve this problem.

IšverstiShow in original languageWe bought this mattress based on the stellar reviews and will not be using it. We opened the mattress from the box and let it sit out for 3 days prior to placing in the crib.

There’s a distinct smell, almost potent, that I wasn’t expecting for a Green Guard Certified product. It’s been out for over 2 weeks and the smell is still very strong, rubbing off onto my baby’s skin each morning.

It’s deep within the mattress and even putting it outside for a few hours a day doesn’t get rid of it. I was also disappointed in how soft this mattress is. I thought it would be two sided based on ‘crib and toddler’ mattress but it is not.

I ended up buying another mattress as I simply do not trust this mattress for my baby.

I was super nervous as always with mixed reviews. I also never purchased a foam mattress and was unsure what to expect but I’m so happy I went for it! It’s sooo soft yet so firm for safety! No crazy price tag, but all of the quality of a higher end! So easy! Expanded completely about 5 minutes into opening even though it says 72hrs.

(We left it up anyway just in case) and my daughter just keeps laying her head on it. She must like it! Don’t spend hours and days obsessing. Just get this one! Always love Graco products.

We got this crib mattress for a toddler bed. It is easy to wipe clean- critical for a potty training toddler. It is firmer than an adult mattress because it should be! Babies and toddlers sleep just fine on this mattress and I appreciate the firm surface for safe sleep.

Like many kid’s mattresses, the plastic can make noise when the kid readjusts. I prefer the protection from accidents, but know that it’s not silent.

This was the fourth crib mattress we purchased and it FINALLY fit properly/snugly in the crib. For reference we have the delta farmhouse crib. This mattress does not feel as nice (thick/plush/soft) or like it will last as long (much shorter warranty) as the others we had tried but it was also half the price.

I feel much better knowing we have the proper fit of the mattress for the crib even if its not as fancy as the others. Overall we are happy with it and would recommend.

This crib mattress is nice and firm! I like that it seems to be a waterproof material. I did put a waterproof mattress pad on it to soften it a little bit, and then sheets over it and it’s perfect. The color is definitely way different than the photo but I didn’t mind seeing as it will be covered anyways.

Sealy Baby Ultra Classic 2-Stage Mattress We are about to have our third baby girl and I was just telling my husband that it was time to upgrade our crib mattress. I knew that I wanted something that would be from a good company and safe for our baby girl to sleep on.

The cover is 100% waterproof, and I find it easy to wipe it down when with baby has spills from his bottle, or has diaper leakage.

Firm coil bed for baby. Love the coil mattress for its firmness and longevity. For a baby, you want a firm mattress to reduce the risk of SIDs. One great thing about this mattress is the corner and side protectors.

It keeps the mattress firm all over – meaning your baby can roll over all the way to the edge of the mattress and you don’t have to worry about the bed dipping. Really makes you feel like you can use the full length and sides of the mattress versus just the center part.

Mattress also fits great in our crib with no gaps. Don’t have to worry as much about SIDs which is one less thing to worry about. Baby seems to enjoy the mattress and we like firmness and the fact that the mattress is waterproof.

Water just seems to bead up and roll off the mattress. Makes cleaning up blowouts, leaky diapers, etc, really easy. You just need to wipe down the mattress with a wet, slightly soapy cloth and wash the sheets.

The mattress is 2-sided with both an infant side and a toddler side. Both sides are firm but the infant side is much firmer. We haven’t used the toddler side yet but like that we can transition the baby to that side later as they grow up.

I recently ordered a baby crib/toddler mattress, sheets and blankets for my sons baby. Everything was shipped and received on time or earlier than expected!! Everything looks good and I will definitely continue to order from Walmart.

Very soft! The back side is firmer, but if you were looking for a squishy and comfy mattress for say 12 months or a toddler, this is a great one! It also fills all those crib corner gaps. Worth the purchase.

I do not like the standard waterproof kind. If thats what you want, this is definitely not spring filled or that firm. It is very comfortable! Back firm side suitable for I would say 5-6 months or more safely.

I would not place a newborn on this mattress. Its a great option if you plan to use a bassinet first or co sleep. After that its suitable age wise for a larger infant who can turn and flip.

We purchased this mattress to replace one we had been given for our newborn. We were looking for a mattress that was FIRM enough to be safe for a small baby. I am so happy we bought this mattress! It is firm so when I lay my baby down he does not “sink in” to the mattress like he did somehwhat with our old one.

I also really like that it is JUST the right size for the crib. We have a standard size crib and this mattress fits very well all the way to the edges without being difficult to put in and take out for changing the sheets, etc.

We let it sit for 3 days to fully inflate after being shipped compressed, but it was probably ready to go before the 3 days anyway. I RECOMMEND this mattress for a crib for sure!.

We bought this for the crib at our vacation home. Our one-year-old sleeps very well and seems quite comfortable. We only use it a few times a month so I can’t speak to how it would hold up with daily use but overall it’s a great mattress for the price.

However! This mattress is significantly softer than the “infant” side of our dual sided mattress at home and I would not recommend it for a young baby. I’m comfortable using it for our toddler but would have returned if we needed a mattress for an infant.

My husband and I own two of the Sealy Baby ortho rest crib and toddler bed mattresses. The first we purchased new for our son nearly four years ago. The second was a hand me down from my brother’s first child.

I was making my Son’s toddler bed the other day and realized how well this mattress has served us. We used it in his crib, and now in his toddler bed, and despite jumping and bouncing and fit throwing on it, it looks brand new.

My daughter’s hand me down mattress of the same brand, which has now been through two children, still seems in perfect condition in her crib. I am impressed at how comfortable these mattresses can be despite the thick plastic outer.

Both of my children rest peacefully on them each night and at nap time. They are both still firm and safe. They have been fantastically waterproof through our potty training adventures and do not absorb any odors or smells.

The plastic outer cover has sustained no damages, rips, or tears through all of the uses it has endured. Overall, a nice, safe, comfortable purchase for a baby, and fantastic value for the money.

I bout the Sealy Ortho crib mattress from Amazon. I got a great deal on it. I generally do a generous amount of research on big products before I purchase, especially my baby’s stuff. This crib mattress got a good amount of excellent reviews, so I bought it.

Although my little one barely sleeps in her crib, when she does, she doesn’t sleep for long. I read that babies need somewhat of a firm surface to sleep on, so I was a bit surprised to find this crib mattress was much on the soft side.

It’s a little springy too. My baby plays in the crib no problem, but as far as sleeping goes, we’re sticking to the playpen- she sleeps in there the longest. I hope when she gets a bit older (she’s now 4 mons old) she’ll sleep in the crib without fuss, but as of now, it’s firmness is not to my liking, nor is it to my daughter’s comfort.

I’m not even sure if it’s the softness that she doesn’t like because she sleeps with my husband and I just fine in our bed, and ours is fairly soft as well. Might just be the springs. Didn’t know there were springs in there but it’s bounce, so I’m guess they’re springs.

I wouldn’t recommend it- I will have to replace mine.

My husband and I purchased this crib mattress for our first son, who is now two and a half. It’s a great mattress for a really great price. It’s firm, even today, two and a half years later. I don’t see any signs of wearing yet.

It’s easy to clean too. We all know babies and toddlers have messy accidents. Some soap and water will do the trick. It’s waterproof, so there are no worries of ruining the mattress. It fits both the crib (according to ASTM standards) and the toddler bed very well.

Great mattress!.

Mattress is not firm at all and makes noise when you lay down baby to sleep. Once I place my baby down it dents where baby is laying down. When laying baby down, it took her quiet some type to put her legs down, the noise of them touching the mattress kept waking her up.

I returned and purchased a firmer mattress and instantly she stayed asleep and was cozy. day 1 and dented in the middle.

I just bought this mattress. As soon I put it in the crib with the bedding set did I did not like it, did not felt confortable. I thought maybe baby would liked; wrong, he is a baby who sleeps all night long and with his new matress he kept waking every hour and during the day as soon he feels or hear the mattress because also is kind of noisy, he start crying.

I will love to return it, but is out of package and my husband lost the receipt. Please help me my baby needs a different mattress a confortable one also no money to be wasting on mattresses. The matress is tree days old.

I was looking for a 150 coup count mattress that would be firm enough for a newborn and durable enough to last through the toddler years. I believe this mattress fits the bill, although I can’t testify to long wear yet, having just used it for two months so far.

I ultimately chose this one because if the Sealy warranty, so hopefully that will stand me in good stead regardless. However, I will say that this mattress is not at all breathable, despite being described that way.

Every time, I pick my baby up from a nap, baby and bed are all sweaty. Its like sleeping on a plastic bag and a cotton crib sheet is too thin to make up for it. I feel like it keeps my baby from sleeping as long on this bed.

I will have to invest In a mattress pad do that my baby can sleep comfortably. It’s not a major problem, but if I’d known I might have selected a different mattress.

I bought this thinking it would be a good mattress because it has Serta in the name and that’s a well-known company but turns out that all it is. A name. The mattress sunk in, in the middle for reasons I don’t know.

My daughter wasn’t rough with the mattress ( not jumping up and down or anything like that). Other people have reported the same problem and still, I bought it, giving it the benefit of the doubt that maybe they just got a bad batch but LO AND BEHOLD.

the same thing happened to me not too long after the purchase date. About 1 month in and it started to sink in and few months after that the mattress lining tore in the middle where it’d sunk in. I didn’t bother calling the company at the time for a replacement because I was dealing with other things at the time (COVID19 and everything that came with it).

Anyway, I ended up having to pacify the situation by putting a pillow underneath the mattress (That’s right, A PILLOW) to level it out a little bit so my daughter could sleep on it. This bought me time.

I’ve been extremely disappointed with this product and would never recommend it to anyone.

This mattress and is firm. It is not hard though. It is soft enough, good and safe for a baby. You do not want a mattress that is too soft so babys face does not get buried in it. The mattress is of good quality.

It appears the outer layer is made of waterproof material but I still bought some water proof encasements and other protective coverings to protect from stains and to make the mattress last longer. The mattress looks truly water proof and wipeable but it might be worth it to protect from stains and discoloration just in case.

Nice quality, perfect fit for our baby’s crib (we’ve got the delta Jordan collection) because the edges are square and not round. The fact that is waterproof help us to save some money buying a mattress protector, so that’s a plus.

And don’t get worried of how firm it is, because that’s what is recommended for little babies.

I’ve spent days searching for a good, pretty firm mattress for my newborn and decided to try this one. So, after almost 6 months of my baby sleeping on it comfortably, I can say I’m really happy with the purchase.

I like that it can be easily cleaned and didn’t have any chemical smell when it arrived. Really good mattress that will serve us for years, I believe.
