20 Best Toddler Gloves For Winter (2023 Updated)

Kids needed something that would keep their fingers warm while playing out in the snow and cold. These mittens are really good for that.

Easy on and warm for playing in the snow. Kept hands dry the whole time. Great price.

The coupler hooks on quick and easy and stays tight and does not leak grease out around the fitting. I really like it.

It is very functional. I originally thought it had a stopper kind of top, which I would have preferred but the flat top fits well. Looks great on the counter, am worried having had it for only a few days now, about the strength of the thin glass.

It did go through the top shelf of the dish washer okay on regular cycle. Have not used it yet although it holds a small jar of honey, which I got from a small private hive owner. Not sure yet how honey runs back down to the bottom if drips on the inside edges.

Does not have a reservoir to place warm water, but having it on the counter seems to keep it liquid here in SoCal. Love it all being glass and not having a spoon but rather the other kind of collector.

I searched Amazon and several online tack stores for good, warm riding gloves for my daughter , I purchased these because they looked like my adult winter gloves which are amazing , These fit perfectly , they are significantly warmer than the winter horseback riding gloves that I purchased, and have great grip! Highly recommend!!!.

The gloves i got were not made properly and i am returning them. The inner liner is not made right and when you put your left hand in these gloves the pinky finger will only go in a third of the way making it impossible to get the glove on.

I am sure if made correctly these would be nice gloves. A person on here said her son had the same problem i had and i wonder if i got his returned gloves. I am putting a note in with the gloves not to resell ,defective.

I was very happy when I received them for my husband. He has very large hands and we havent been able to find gloves big enough. All the gloves have been a size 2xL. We were surprised when these fit.

They are of good quality and should be very warm. We live in northen wi.

The quality of these gloves are very nice, well made. Unfortunately they were too big. I ordered a medium/large my normal size for women’s gloves. When I got these they were much to large. Thinking it was a men’s size even though I ordered a women’s glove.

Sadly I had to return. I was afraid to order the smaller glove. Wish they were in store so I could try on.

Purchased for my 21 month old. I wanted the long mittens for snow play. I put them over his Columbia down snowsuit & he fingers are warm & sometimes sweaty when pulling the gloves off. Gloves haven’t been wet inside or out even when he’s dipped a gloves hand in water.

We’ve been out feeding our goats in Temps less than 20 & he’s toasty warm head to toe. I highly recommend these Columbia mittens. They go on pretty easily. Rarely his thumb has to repositioned. I taught him to put extended finger tight against each other to pull on then poke his thumb out & he does great.

I love the long extended arm section. It almost reaches his elbow. My son has decent finger manipulation with a gloved hand & able to pick up items or hold onto sled rope handles. My kiddo is petite average build.

I really wanted to love these mittens for my little one. Well made, seem durable. But unfortunately when my 2yo goes outside for some playtime, after less than one hour, temp at -5°C with windshield, no snow on the ground, her little fingers were cold as ice.

It really breaks your heart. I bought them full price now they are 15$. If i was you i wouldn’t bother even at this price tag.

I just can’t say enough about the quality of these gloves! Not many companies make a good mitten for younger kids /toddlers now a days. I bought the mittens size 18/24 months for my 8 month old granddaughter (thinking she could wear them for longer than a hot minute) we all know little one out grow everything so fast.

This is why I bought the size I did. Yes they are a little big on her but they fit her nicely and they keep her little hands warm.

Hands down, these are the warmest, best, and most affordable commercial mitts for kids in any cold climate. These are a staple in the north across all schoolyards! Two sets of drawstrings are key. They fit extremely well over jacket cuffs, or can be worn underneath to be hard to remove, for kids or toddlers who stubbornly try to take off their mitts at any opportunity.

Fairly waterproof/water resistant, though I did buy a second pair to have on rotation as they invariably get damp after hours of outdoor play. They fit a bit big for my daughters so my 5 year old is still in size 2-4, and my 2.

5 year old just graduated from the thumbless baby version to the thumbed 2-4 version, though they are a bit big.

Our daughter wore these in -2C weather on a walk. For a brief period she was dragging her hands in the snow while wearing these mittens. Shortly after she complained that her hands were cold. Upon arriving home we found her hands cold as ice! On such a warm day wearing “waterproof” mitts this should not have happened.

I contacted the Stonz customer support team 3 times with no response.

I’ve worn this hat many places this summer, and it’s great. It’s adjustable and has removable front and back flaps for greater sun protection. I stayed pretty cool while wearing this on hot days and appreciate the chin strap on windy days.

These are good gloves, but I thought they would be somewhat warmer. They serve their purpose, great for snow and cold weather.

What cute little gloves! My son is 3 and so into helping. with EVERYTHING. One of his favorite things is being out in the garden with his grandpa- he does everything he can to be in the dirt- digging, weeding, planting.

We have tons of little tools that are the right size for him to work with, but I never thought to get little gardening gloves. These are PERFECT. They’re standard sized gloves- nothing heavy duty but enough to keep your hands clean.

The wrist bands are very stretchy and softer than I thought they’d be. Obviously the Paw Patrol characters are the draw for the kids- my son We are currently buried under snow but I am looking so forward to him using these when it is time to get back out there!.

We bought 3 pairs of the OTE mittens. Colors (purple and navy) were as advertised and the build quality is robust and the mittens have held up so far this winter with near daily use. The mittens are long enough to fit over coat sleeves easily.

The elastic at the bottom of the mitten fits securely and does a good job keeping snow out when used with the wrist clincher. The wrist clincher is easy to operate one handed while tightening. In terms of waterproofing, the mittens have stayed dry when used in wet snow conditions with air temps just above freezing.

When dipped into puddles the mittens remained dry on the inside but we have had limited opportunities this winter for testing waterproofing when submerged. Where these gloves have really disappointed is in keeping hands warm.

We have needed to have our kids wear knit gloves under 25 degrees Fahrenheit otherwise our kids have all complained about cold hands after about 30 minutes outside without the extra gloves. Even with knit gloves our kids’ hands have felt cool to the touch after being outside for an hour in 15 degree Fahrenheit weather and cold to the touch around 0 degrees and below after that same amount of time.

We expect gear to be warm enough for our kids to be comfortable outside for hours at a time so in terms of insulation these mittens really disappointed for mittens at this price point. We are still rating these mittens as 3 stars because the build quality and waterproofing are top notch and will likely last multiple seasons but we will likely look at other brands in the future.

I’m from Minnesota where cold weather gear is essential. Winters involve single digit temps for months. These gloves left my toddler’s hands cold even in double digit temps–over 20 degrees. If they can’t keep hands warm in what we consider a “warm” winter day–they definitely won’t work for our cold days.

Disappointing because they are more than twice as expensive as options on Amazon. You have to pay for returns as well. The only good thing is that I was glad to see gloves with fingers small enough for my 3 year old but not much help if they don’t keep her hands warm for even short durations in mild winter.

The product was what I was looking for, the mittens appear to be good quality, and a cute design. Love the extra length. But I was really disappointed that they arrived covered in dirt. There was no packaging on them, and it feels like they may have been dropped / stored in a dirty warehouse? Ultimately these will be used outdoors so we’ll keep them, but it’s not a professional purchase I’d hesitate to purchase here again.

Cute colors and love the long cinched wrist but Burton took it too far making these into puppets instead of mittens. I’m sure kids like puppets, but kids also like picking things up when they go outside to play in the snow, and the design makes it ergonomically so challenging for a little one to use their thumb.

There was no reason at all to do it this way It’s just really silly and gimmicky. Hard pass.

Sizing for this series of snowsuits is off. The size 5 snowsuit would fit children 5-6 (or even 7) years old. Which is fine. The next size up from 5 is XS. The XS runs very large and would typically fit a child 9-10 years old.

So there’s a gap in sizing from Burton and Burton’s size chart is not accurate. Apart from sizing this snowsuit is of exceptional quality and represents good value for a growing child.

These gloves are really fantastic for my son. They have a long zipper making it easy to put his hands in, and they have a velcro strap across the wrist to ensure the gloves stay put. My son loves wearing them, and they’re great for going outside when it’s cold.

For sizing reference, my son is just turning 18 months and I got him a size 2T and they fit perfectly. They might be smaller than what I thought a 2T size would be, but definitely not a big deal.

Great mittens That stay on my 18 month old. I got size 1-2years. I dislike the difficulty of getting her thumb in the thumb hole with the restive water proof fabric and more often than not she goes without having her thumb there.

But they keep her hands safe because she can’t get them off and we live outside! I would buy again!.

These are very nice waterproof mittens. My granddaughter is 3. 5 years old. I bought size 3-4. It fits her hand with room to grow. She was outside for 30 minutes playing with the snow. The temperature was 10 degrees and her hands was warm and dry when I took her mittens off.

I purchased these to go with a new green puffer coat I purchased for my 7 year old. Unfortunately, the gloves had a hole in them right on the palm of one of the gloves. The fit seemed ok, a smidge small.

They are not thick gloves so its not going to help for the super cold winter days.

The sizing on these gloves are completely OFF. The space for the palms is TIGHT my kid can’t even get their fingers in, they are also very bulky. So poor.

Her hands were dry but very cold. What a waste of 50$ so no i would not recommend these gloves for playing out in the snow maybe in the fall but definitely not in the snow. I will be going and getting the 12$ gloves for grandma’s house.

We live in Minnesota and we NEED good mittens that withstand cold and snow. I’ve tried many, many mittens over the course of 3 children and toddlers are by far the most challenging to find mittens that STAY ON and keep their hands warm in the snow.

Time and time again I come back to these. What was I thinking trying a different brand earlier this year?? (I was curious since someone recommended them. ) I should have know better. I am SO glad I came back to these LLBean mittens.

We were looking for toddler mittens that were waterproof, would stay on, and that we could get our son’s thumb into the the thumb part easily. These are great. They have a velcro split down the side of the wrist that makes it easier to get his hands in and his thumb in correctly.

They have velcro straps around the wrists that helps keep them on. I was worried about the size before ordering as most toddler mittens/gloves we found were too big. These were a perfect fit with a bit of room to grow for a 2T boy who is on the smaller side of the scale.

These are awesome! They’re truly waterproof, hours in pouring rain and digging for bugs/rocks in puddles or a lake, etc. They’re unlined so perfect for warmer rain and for layering thin gloves under.

The 2 issues I have is the single button on the wrist and the sizing. There should be more snap options for tightening. It definitely needs to be actually tight in order to stay on and the snap is just not tight enough so I’ll have to add some.

Also, they run huge even with gloves under. My 4yo average size girl is wearing the 1-2y in these pics WITH thin wool gloves under. They fit well and allow her to move and pick up things freely and they’ll last longer, but these would not have worked in her actual size and I’m bummed the 6-18m size is way too big for my small 2yo.

Other than that I’ll buy them again and as gift and just hope they add more snaps and smaller sizes!.

I measured both of my children’s hands the way the website tells you to, and ended up ordered mittens that are waaaay too big on them. The pair for my 4 year old fits me! I wish I’d bought them on Amazon, so I could have returned for free.

I bought the lined ones hoping to be able to use them in the winter with snow with gloves or mittens on underneath. You’d think the extra room would have helped with that, but they were either too big or too small for the mittens we were trying to put on the kids underneath.

If I could do it over again, I’d get a size smaller than their age from Amazon just for the cold, rainy days.

Finally! My four year old can put these on. He goes to an outdoor preschool in Oregon and these are the only thing that withstand the cold rain and mud in January. We layer with a small pair of gloves underneath on the very cold days.

I bought these LLBean Cold Buster Waterproof gloves a long time ago, to use for biking during the winter (low of about 20F). I am an adult but I have small hands so the largest kid size fit me. They were great – kept my hands warm and dry, and held up well to (gentle, i.

e. , adult, no snowball fights) daily use in winter for several years. Unfortunately, the “grip-friendly fabric” on the palm is made of the sort of rubbery plastic that degrades after a period of time (polyurethane I’m guessing).

I stored the gloves in a closet for a few years while I didn’t need them, and when I took them out again, the rubbery fabric had become stiff and cracked, and immediately started flaking off in black, dusty bits.

I unpicked the seams to see if I could salvage the glove, since the rest of it (the fleece, the polyester shell, the insulation) was still in great shape, but unfortunately the rubbery-plastic fabric could not be removed from the glove while leaving the glove intact.

I got good value from these gloves, seeing that they performed well for years and are only $25. But I do wish that companies would avoid making their products out of the sort of plastic that degrades easily (or that they would at least not make that plastic part integral to the product).

I’m ok with plastic fabrics like polyester and nylon – they don’t degrade, they only wear out with use and are very durable. But rubbery polyurethane material degrades, and it makes repair impossible if the glove is put together using that material.

These glove are high quality. I purchased 3 pairs for weekly skiing and daily snow play in New England. My kids say they are very warm and their hands stay dry. My only complaint is that despite measuring my kids’ hands and using the size chart, my first order of gloves were too big for each kid.

I should have known better since LL Bean tends to run large on my kids. Luckily, I was able to shuffle them between kids and easily swap out the last pair at our local LL Bean store.

They were a bit too big but otherwise great. Warm and mostly waterproof. Bought them in November. We’ve had icy snow all winter so far and now in mid January these are full of holes. Where the black part of the glove is sewn in, there are rips in every finger and in the palm of the glove.

My kid plays hard outside which is why I bought all LL Bean for this winter. Really disappointed these didn’t even last 3 months.
