20 Best Tires For Volvo S60 (2023 Updated)

People seem to be getting confused about a couple points: 1. Wandering / Poor tracking: this tends to happen with untrained staff mounting all four tires on the wheels one direction, which makes directional tread patterns like these backwards on one side of the car, which results in poor tracking and wandering.

I have had tire shops do this, and it feels exactly how some “disappointed” reviewers are describing their performance. 2. Poor MPG: Michelin has replied here to a bunch of people that fresh tire compounds result in lower mpg at first.

That’s not untrue necessarily, but so far people have ignored that new tires are physically larger than worn tires, even at the same nominal size. The worn tires are giving artificially high MPG figures (they aren’t going as far as the odometer says), and the new ones are often giving artificially low figures (going farther than the odometer says, since they are often set for an average tire age), so jumping from worn to new makes it falsely appear that there is a significant MPG difference.

So, don’t get it twisted! These are great tires, especially in wet environments. Even at double the price of standard “used car grade” tires, I bought two more sets of these, so every car would be as safe and comfortable.

I only wish they came in a light truck load rating so I could feel better taking them on forest roads.

I was a little nervous when I read the reviews just before the tires that I had on order were to be installed. Noise complaints. these are just as quiet as the OEM all season tires. and the X Ice Michelin winters we had run for the past 3 winters.

On smooth pavement they are almost silent as they are at “town speeds”. On the highway on somewhat worn asphalt they are just a little more noisy than that. Someone with high complaints, check the tire pressure, that “might” be an issue.

The one reviewer who said they pick up lots of rocks. yes they do and because of the “open ness” of the tread the rocks are slightly larger and stay deep in the tread. I take a few minutes after driving over gravel and would likely have to do it as well in the winter when roads are “sanded”.

Fuel consumption. mine is the same as with the previous Michelin Lattitude and X Ice tires meaning I achieve the same or even better than posted mpg or liters per 100kms by a small margin. That will likely increase a tiny amount after a few more thousand kms.

No winter report but I don’t expect that these will be as good as the Michelin X Ice tires I had especially when they were new to 8/32s tread depth. This is on a Toyota Highlander AWD and my wife has the newer Michelin winters ( Ice and Snow????) on a Buick Encore AWD which are quiet, comfortable and grip deeper snow better than any winter tire I have owned in over 40 years of driving.

I will drive accordingly this winter but don’t expect any issues particularly on compact snow or ice. p. s. tire is awesome on heavy rain roads. On roads that had my 6/32s winter tires ( X Ice) squirming a bit these plow right through.

Could be the new tread depth but they are even better than the winters were at 11/32s.

I had a set of 4 installed recently. My 2013 MKZ has 19 Inch low profile tires. These were one of the cheapest tires available for that size. I had experience with the Eagle-RSA in the past on other vehicles, and found that they wore-out too quickly.

The F1 Asymmetric provide excellent handling in wet and dry conditions. They provide great grip in light snow. I was surprised that I could get a name-brand tire, with a high mileage warranty, for this price.

These are an excellent buy. I noticed that the response on these tires were slightly better than the stock Michellin Primacy tires that came with the car. If they dont wear out too quickly, I’ll be buying another set in 4 years.

The tire came a couple days early, pretty fast really. I got a used tire with 100% new tire tread for a bit more than half of retail. As the disclaimer stated, there may be a professional patch and there was.

It was a very small nail hole in the tread that I’d have been hard pressed to find if the patch had not been there to show me where to look. Otherwise the tire is in perfect condition. I have no qualms about riding on this tire.

Overall, probably one of the best all season tires available for 195/50/15, where there really arent many options. I drive in the mountains through all weather conditions with a modified 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage.

When new, they do exhibit an odd lag between steering input and the car actually turning. However, the grip definitely is there. They havent complained at all with spirited mountain driving. If you want immediate steering response, stick with a summer tire.

Wet cornering traction is quite good. I can confidently keep up a brisk pace in the rain, but I still get occasional wheelspin leaving stop signs, but they’re solid in the corners. They hold up very well through various temperature ranges, even the cold rains in the spring and fall.

Light snow traction is good, but I have a set of dedicated winter tires for the heavy stuff. The Hankook Ventus V2 Concept2 set I ran before were downright sketchy in the rain, but somehow had an AA traction rating, but had better steering response.

Downside is they wear quite a bit faster than I’d expect, but I do run them hard. If you need confident traction in all conditions, including in those transition periods where it’s too cold for summer tires but too warm for winters, this will get the job done.

So far, these have been the best performing tires I’ve had on our Honda Fit Sport. This year’s winter has been one of the snowiest and coldest on record. and these tires have exceeded what I ever expected.

Very nice riding and grippy. The car doesn’t seem to slip on the ice as much. Last year’s trip to Duluth went off without a hitch, as these tires handled the twists and turns of the North Shore just fine.

Great in rain too. We’re really good at regularly maintaining our car, so I’ll keep an eye on what the other reviewers we’re saying about sidewall bulge. I have faith in these and would DEFINITELY recommend them otherwise.

I have bought Michelin tires for all my vehicles forever. So saw the reviews on these Falkens as well the lesser price and said I’ll give them a try. So glad I did, we installed these on my wifes 2017 Murano which had Michelins and the change was outstanding.

These tires are engineered to handle the road under dry or wet conditions with almost the same performance level. Also allow you to drive even when the tire is almost flat. What a great brand! Yes, they are expensive, but I believe they are worth the money.

I’ve only had the tires on the car for like, 2 weeks – yet 4 or 5 emails later, I feel pressured to review. Mainly, so I can stop receiving emails to review the product. Give some peeps a couple of months to really experience the product before asking for reviews! Tires are smooth, very quiet, and no slippage on wet pavement – unless you really give it.

Dry driving on the highway doesn’t allow for the best straight-line drive – there are always adjustments while on the highway. Maybe that’s what makes a great summer tire though. On the streets, I feel like I’m on train-tracks.

Such excellent grip. Rolls over bumps the way my OEM tires couldn’t. They look a little thicker too. I have no idea how good the treadwear is this early.

These Pirellis are the first time I’ve gone with non-OEM recommended tires on a bike, and also the first time I’ve ridden on anything with a big-block tread pattern, so if you’re an experienced knobby rider, take my opinion with a grain of salt.

If you’re an ADV rider looking to switch to big blocks for the first time, though, I have good news for you: I got these tires on sale. I ended up not buying them on Revzilla, because the sales price was a little better elsewhere for once, but at the low-hundreds price range they’re in across the web right now, it’s gonna be a good price no matter what.

When I was switching away from the stock Metzler Tourances, I spent a lot of time waffling about what to buy. I wanted tires that would help me learn to ride on dirt and gravel, and could cope with a bit of mud, but I really didn’t want to compromise my on-road handling, as I use my bike – a ’14 Tiger EX – a lot in the twisties near my college.

Balancing off-road, on-road, and wanting decent life for commuting is a huge pain. These tires were the right pick, though. I got them installed near my folks house in Illinois, broke them in, and then proceeded to ride part-way across the country back to my college in Maryland.

During the break in the front felt way twitchier than my old Tourances. The Scorpions felt like they turned almost too well, falling into corners more than tipping into them. This was partially because the Tourances had gotten shoulders from how straight the roads are in the midwest, but the Pirelli’s also proved to be a bit over inflated.

I took about 3 PSI out both front and back midway through my first day of the trip, and it resolved everything. During that time I was also getting some bar-wobble but it was nothing drastic. I think the rear wheel might just be a little off-balance.

Still, in my case that V speed rating may be a little excessive. I don’t know that these tires are really suited to go as fast as they’re capable of, though it’ll likely be doable if you have steady hands.

On the trip I did everything from Super-slab to hard-pack and even a bit of deep gravel in a variety of weather conditions. The tires were a little noisy on the slab, but not really bad. The rear is louder than the front.

On dirt they are substantially more confidence inspiring than the 90/10s I’m coming from, though I’m not yet experienced enough to really test their limits. Deep gravel is still frightening, but that’s to be expected on a 600 pound bike no matter what you put on it.

Remarkably, where the Scorpion STR’s really shined was deep in the Twisties. I took US 250 from Wheeling, down to US 50, which carried me through the mountains all the way out to Winchester VA. Anyone who has done that route will know that it’s a pretty strenuous test of tire ability.

Anyone who hasn’t done that ride should get off their butt and go- it’s nuts. In any case, the Scorpions vastly outperformed my old Metzlers. I rode them all the way to a bit past the outer-most grooves on the rear tires.

If I could’ve seen all the way through my corners, and didn’t have the bags on I would’ve been happy to push them further. How they out-perform dedicated street tires is beyond me, but perhaps they can just afford to be a bit stickier because they’re not made to last as long anyways.

I did hit some rain on my last day of riding, and what everyone says about them being really good in the wet seems to be true. If I was riding blindfolded (not recommended!) I wouldn’t have known I was on a slippery surface.

Even in the rain, the Scorpions can put down a lot of braking force before ABS kicks in. So, they Pirelli Scorpion STRs are a pretty rock-solid ADV tire in my opinion. The only draw-back for ordinary use is that they won’t match the tread-life of a 90/10.

They also won’t’ clear as much mud or gravel as a full knobby, but on an ADV bike you should be staying out of that stuff anyways. At the sales price though, the former hardly matters, and the latter is a compromise almost every tire in the class makes anyways.

I’d really recommend these for anyone planning to take their bike on a real ‘mixed-terrain’ adventure, especially at the sales price.

Let me start by saying that I’m a spirited driver. I like taking turns fast. And these tires hold up to my driving style extremely well. Very confidence inspiring. Great for acceleration, braking, and cornering.

Not a whimper from them, where my last tires (Sumitomos of the same tier and price) would squeal all over the place on turns or if I let the clutch out too fast. Great grip in the dry and very good in the rain (no ABS here to save me, either).

And they’re actually very competent in snow, to the point that I’ve been able to work my way through everything except snow taller than the ride height of my car (6. 3″ per Honda). At that point, it’s not the fault of the tires, just time to break out the shovel.

Never got completely stuck in the snow because of these tires, never lost traction. And I do go out often when it snows. Will continue to buy these tires as long as I have this car (96 Accord), and possibly for future cars.

These tires are a great fit for my 03 grand am. We have only put a few thousand miles on them so far and they have held up well. They do well in the rain and are excellent in dry conditions. I am a aggressive driver and like to test the limits of the tires to know where my limitations are.

I dont have many concerns with these tires on sharp corners as they grip and hold tight and dont let go. I love the value for what you get. There is a little more tire noise than I would prefer but its livable.

I bought the set in October 2021, though I did have a set of Michelin winter tires already on rims. The Cross Climate in my estimation, exceeded my expectation in snow and icy conditions. I do live in Ontario, Canada.

What surprised me is the lack of aquaplaning going through water and the excellent stability, handling, smooth ride and quietness of these tires. In all honesty, when this set needs replacing, I will definitely stick with the Cross Climate.

I also found the grip to be excellent, winter or summer and no slipping when starting off in the snow or wet conditions. I have always been a Michelin owner but these are the best yet.

I put a set of four of these tires on my 2020 Honda Ridgeline in May of last year, and they have been absolutely phenomenal in wet weather. They are without a doubt the very best wet weather tire I have ever had, and that is my single most important criteria for selecting tires.

I was very pleased with their performance in light snow this past winter- a capability that isn’t needed EVERY winter around here, but sure does give peace of mind. BUT I can definitely verify what another reviewer said about longevity- I just purchased another pair, because both of my front tires were worn nearly bald in less than 20,000 miles (The rears look like they will last as long as the new front tires.

I am a fanatic about maintaining proper air pressure, and did not rotate specifically because the wear was so evenly distributed across each pair of tires that buying a new front pair when necessary worked just as well).

Another 20,000 miles from now, I will be looking into a set of CrossClimate 2 tires and hoping for substantially better tread life, but even if I don’t find it I am not sure I can go back to driving on other tires that don’t have this kind of grip in the rain.

My main concern with getting this tire was noise. I drive a Tesla Model X and were pleased with other reviews regarding handling in inclement weather, but I was concerned about noise because my OEM tirew were Continental CrossContact Sport with ContiSilent foam technology.

I can now tell you that the noise level from these tire are at best marginally worese than the continentals. In fact, the difference would barely be audible to most people. Most of the road noise I hear are from other vehicles, and no amount of foam in my tires will change that.

These tires are better in every respect than the Continentals, and I will never go back. I have long been a fan of Michelin products, and have been waiting for over a year for Michelin to produce tires that would fit my vehicle.

(I have 20″ rims). In conclusion I wanted to add that I purchased these tires at Costco, which I also highly recommend. The CrossClimate tires also carry a superior warranty over the OEM tires. Thank you Michelin!.

This is my second set of General Grabber HTS tires. The first set lasted well over 100,000kms on our 2009 Yukon Denali. They wear well, traction is great no road noise, comfortable ride and the XL rating is great to stabilize the rear end when towing a 8,000lbs RV trailer.

My original purchase was dictated by the fact they were one of the only XL rated tires on the market without a super aggressive “off-road” tread at the time. The market has changed a lot in 8 years and there are plenty of choices.

Why did I stick with the General Grabbers? Two primary reasons, the price at Canadian Tire was the best around. Even though there are less expensive options the quality and longevity I was able to get out of the last set kept these at the top of the list.

Second, Canadian Tire’s nationwide warranty. It’s been a long time since I bought tires at Canadian Tire, I do recall the warranty always being good. With the ability to pull into any Canadian Tire location across Canada for repairs and replacements it’s a no brainer.

I’m tired of purchasing tires from the local tire shop who do not cover the manufacturers warranty after you drive away. Any issues they need to service which isn’t always convenient, not to mention the price of a nail puncture repair or a bead reseal over $60! The Canadian Tire extended warranty is to cover this for 6 years from purchase.

Sure I may have to pay a balancing fee, but it’s still cheaper. It’s also much more convenient even if my vehicle doesn’t venture more than 200kms from home. The service was great as well at my local store.

I got these tire on sale for my Ram 1500. These are a great tire for what the were made for. They are not made for snow or mud, they are made for the pavement and hard dirt. I mainly travel the highway back and forth to work and occasionally haul a 7000lbs camper on the road and they are quiet and handle the road very well, so they serve the purpose for what I use them for! people buy these tires and leave a bad review base on how they preform in off-road and snow conditions.

These are a HIGHWAY tire!!! if you are going to go off-road or use them as a winter tire you will be disappointed! I have a separate set of winter rated tires for winter, so the General grabbers work well for the other 3 seasons.

Highly recommend for a highway tire under a budget!.

I fitted these to my AWD 2003 Murano a few days before a massive winter storm dumped 2 feet of snow on Vancouver and temperatures plummeted. These all season Grabbers handled the ice and snow as well or better than some big-name snow-rated tires costing way more that I’ve previously used.

When the weather improved and I could get out on the highway, I found these tires extremely quiet and smooth riding at the 33psi recommended pressure for the Murano. Handling was average for this class of tire but, to be fair, the Murano is a tank and has 18 year old suspension with 160,000 km on it so any handling shortcomings were probably more chassis than tire.

Overall, these are great all-round tires and do better in severe winter conditions than most all season tires. At this price, they’re an astounding value.

Mounted these recently on my 2018 BMW 7 Series. They are not runflats, I know, but I don’t like the runflats. The difference from the factory Michelin Primacy MXM4 runflats was amazing! SO much smoother and quieter.

The Michelins lasted 30,000 miles which was pretty good treadlife, but they got really loud the last 5,000 miles or so. The ride is better too. I have added the BMW flat tire kit/inflator to my trunk in case I get stuck somewhere, but in 35 years of driving I can only recall two flats ever.

I’ll take my chances for such a better/smoother/quieter tire, for less money to boot! They do not have quite as sporting handling in the mountain curves as the Michelins, but they are better in heavy rain than the Michelins ever were.

Haven’t had any winter weather.

I recently replaced the Continental Cross Contact UHP OEM tires on my daughters Ranger Rover Evoque. She barely got 22k miles on these tires. They cost $294. 96 per tire and are only summer rated. I purchased the Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus for $203 each.

The came with a $70 rebate also. This tire is all season, has a 50k mile warranty and has higher speed, treadwear and traction ratings compared to the OEM Continentals. They ride nice, are very quiet and they stick to the road.

They also look good too! And thanks to eBay, I also got a coupon for $100 off of a $400 purchase of tires and was able to use the coupon twice. All in with tax and free delivery, the tires cost me $578.

Quality tires at such an incredible price. Local tire shops couldnt get anywhere near matching the price. They actually told me that if the listed price on eBay was accurate, make the purchase immediately.

Advice taken. I took the tires to them for mounting and balancing and still saved almost $300 over their prices. Very smooth riding, quiet, all season tire with excellent wet and dry weather traction.

Very smooth and quiet tires. This is the 3rd set of tires I have had on this vehicle and these are the best so far. Much better than the Michelin Latitude Tour and Cooper Evolution Tour tires used previously.

Walmart’s price was incredible. I was able to get them while they were on sale, plus Pirelli was offering a rebate at the time. Between the sale and the rebate, the per tire price was $87LESS than the regular price.

That saved me $261! Plus they were shipped to my house for free and arrived in only 3 days. Walmart said it would take 7 days, but they shipped them right away and arrived in only 3. Amazing service! I paid a mobile tire installer to come out to my house and install the new tires.

A great experience from start to finish. If I had to criticize one thing, it would be the age of the tires I was sent. One of the three tires had a manufacture date of February 2020. The other three tires were all June 2021.

Surprised that Walmart would have a 2 year old tire sitting around considering how much business they must do. Most likely a case where old stock gets pushed to the back instead of rotated to the front when restocking.

However, that is just a nit pick since the tire was the same make and model and size and balanced perfectly. Great tires so far! I used to use Pirelli tires decades ago and for some reason stopped. Now that I am using them again I am not sure why I ever stopped as they make a great product.

Ordered 2, 1 as replacement tire and a 2nd as a matching spare to go with the 4 new ones I had new a month ago (one of the 4 new ones had their sidewall cut by road debris). Had weird white stuff on the second set of black wall tires that took 3 scrubbings from full strength tire cleaner to sort of get off.

Eventually with tire shine it looks like the other 4 new tires. The original 4 new Pirelli’s from BB Wheels 2 months ago didn’t have this crunchy white almost like salt residue. In terms of ride and handling they seem fine.

Too early to gauge how much of improvement over OEM these are for wet, dry braking, handling and traction.

About 1000 miles into these tires. I bought them to replace some Firestone tires that weren’t even half worn out (the Firestone tires were extremely poor!). So far, these tires perform world’s better than my previous.

They’re installed on an AWD Dodge Charger. I’ve experienced deep snow recently in Michigan and dry and wet pavement. I cannot attest to the tread wear lifetime as they’re too new to me. Hopefully I’ll remember to make an update next year after I have more than 1k miles in on them.

These Tires were original to my FWD 2014 Buick Regal Turbo. Rotated every 5K miles. They were comfortable, decent performance and overall good tires. I recently replaced them with Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 Plus.

These last a good long time, 100,000 miles, 50,000 miles each tire on the drive wheels which is right on par with the warranty. The reason I didn’t purchase these again is because they are really expensive.

I understand that they are touring sport tires so they have to be both comfortable and have good performance and tread life but when i switched to the continentals, the new tires were just as comfortable even though they’re ultra performance all season.

These tires run even more expensive than the critically acclaimed Michelin pilot sports. The MXM4s also have pretty thin soft side wall, maybe for comfort but it was flushed with the rim so no protection from curb rashing the rim.

The rubber compound is softer which makes for great stopping in wet but the trade off is they don’t last as long as rivals, especially for heavier vehicles like EVs. Overall a Good tire, but for the money you can buy a tire that offers more for less, including offerings from Michelin.

I bought a used Honda Accord V6 Coupe that had these as OEM tires. Two of the original tires were worn below my comfort level heading into winter in WI. My dilemma was to spend money on four new tires, upgrading to a much better tire at a much higher cost.

Or to buy two replacement OEM Michelin MXM4’s to get me through winter. I chose the latter. I was hesitant to buy new OEM replacements because of the terrible reputation they have. But I’m pretty happy with these.

The ride, noise level and handling of these MX’s are very good. Again, wouldn’t be my first choice if I had to buy a full set but I have no regrets for the money spent. All I can say about longevity is that the tires I removed, also MXM4’s were wearing evenly and still riding smoothly at about 45,000 miles.

Just not enough tread left (IMO) for the upcoming winter.

I bought a 2018 Honda Accord Touring new with these tires. I drive pretty tame in Kansas. flat. no curves. I do a lot of gentle engine breaking and with a CVT there isn’t much exciting about 0-60, so these tires live a boring life.

The car lives in a garage too at night. I got about 35,000 on the original set and decided to replace with the same tire. I am at 68,000 and it appears I am about 4-5k miles from a third set. I used to run Goodyear Assurance Comfortred’s and get the advertised mileage (80k) in older Accords when I used to travel highways all the time.

I think 45-50k would be realistic on these tires. 35k just seems low. Also, once you get down to about 4-5mm of tread depth, the noise really picks up.

I haven’t had any problems with tires (leased cars and purchased cars from 1995-2021 approximately 9 cars) until one year ago. I purchased a used Equinox 2016 from my dealership in excellent shape with 48600 miles Michelin Latitude Tour tires.

Almost immediately I’m adding air every few weeks for tire #1 and every week for tire #2. I’m retired, I’m disabled, I only used 2400 miles for the whole year which is difficult for me to add air to tires every week or two.

Mechanic/dealership said the problem is I don’t use my car often enough. Then two different mechanics said you need to purchase 4 new tires, you can’t change/purchase 2 tires and leave the 2 old tires on the car.

I was told I have the best tires but I’m trapped. I cannot drive 100+ highway miles without checking and usually adding air for my tire. I just had my state inspection which passed, tire rotation, my odometer is approximately 51,000.

I read Michelin backs these Latitude tires for 65,000 miles. I’m just disappointed.

Honestly best tires I’ve ever had. I have a 2014 Equinox and I’m on my second set. 90,000 before I replaced the first set ( I’m sure I could have gone longer) original to the car. I’m on my second set now with just about 160,000 miles on them!!!! Yes I said that right 160,000 !! I can not vouch enough for these tires.

Currently looking for my 3rd set. My front right passenger tire is starting to finally definitely show signs of being replaced. But the other 3 could definitely go another couple 1000. Thanks Michelin for making such a great tire!!.

I brought my Mother’s 2017 Chevy Equinox home to clean it up for her. I went out today, and I have a flat tire. After taking it off to inspect it, I found the sidewall has a large crack in the sidewall and there is cracking and looks like dry rot on the other 3 tires as well.

The car only has 24,000 miles on it with lots of usable tread left on the tires. I am glad no one was driving when it decided to go flat! I am certain that I will never buy any Michelin tires again! I guess I am going to have to go tire shopping on my day off.

2021 KIa K5 came with 4 performance Pzone tires. Family car and don’t use it for performance. Hit 14,000 miles and back tire blew out at the Fred and wheel are. Called dealer and they did not recommend those tires and said the rest will start failing soon.

Had to buy 4 new tires. Didn’t want to have another blow out on the interstate. Very discounted that the car dealer nor the tire manufacturer warrant this brand of tire.

I purchased these for my Mercedes GL 450 SUV. These tires are feel great, are quite and look attractive. The reason I choose the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus because of the way the tires rubber-to-void ratio is optimized.
