20 Best Tires For Teryx 800 (2023 Updated)

I bought these BearClaw HTR tires, front and back, to replace my original factory tires (which were not radials) on my 2000 Yammie Big Bear ATV. They are definitely smoother and don’t roll as much on corners than the stockers…steering is easier and more responsive too.

They are radials and are supposed to be better for heavier loads, like 2-up riding during the hunting season, but I haven’t tested that yet. They also look great on the buggie, so thumbs up on the aesthetics department.

I removed the old tires and installed these ones myself, using a hand tools. These new radials popped onto the old steel rims easily just using lots of lube and tire irons, so that was a big plus as well.

Only reason I haven’t rated them 5 stars is that I’ve only gone on one short/easy test ride. Will come back and revise my review after the Fall hunting season where they will get tested in more gnarly conditions and under heavier loads, but thumbs up so far!.

Got 2 years ago and couldnt be happy with these tires. The traction is incredible: dry, wet, mud or snow. I was going to splurge on tracks but still riding in 2 feet of snow, (live in the interior of BC Canada so lots of snow but not heavy).

The 8 ply makes them practically indestructible but still managed to get a 1 inch diameter branch stuck in one when I rode over a log at too high a speed. Took it to tire store for patch and they told me I’d need a tube even with a patch because hole so large, that is until they realized it was a radial tire which has a thick enough liner to adhere to patch, so no tube and didnt have to buy a replacement tire, thank you Kenda.

The sidewalls are also very stiff so provide’s strong lateral stability, even at low pressure which I didnt expect from a radial. This has always been the knock on radial versus bias but now that Kenda has solved this, I expect radials to be the standard at some point.

Can’t say enough good things about these, definitely recommend.

This is a 3000 km review of these tires over three years. I do a lot of rocky hard pack trail riding. I ride a Can-Am Outlander 800R. The tires perform generally very well, and had no slashes or pieces falling off.

The tread is holding up considering I ride aggressively from time to time. I have three minor issues with them. The tires tend to pull my machine to one side just slightly while riding fast on an FSR so I try to take a good line.

Also, they are not great in deep snow compared to a mud tire, but that is to be expected. The last issue is nails tend to get caught on the inside of the long claw looking tread bar where it curves outward.

I had only three nails, but they were all inside that part. Perhaps it was bad luck. The tires are much better than stock, and I would recommend them to anyone riding in rocky or hard packed trails.

Shipping time was next day, was great. 8 ply tire great. The 25X8X12 Isn’t the right tire for rear of UTV. For A set of tires it should sold as set 25X8X12 Front and 25X10 or 12 X12 for rear.

Probably a very good tire. Bought because I was getting a lot of flats and I think they will be great for minimizing those. However, they are made of a very hard compound and loud and rough on pavement.

Also the tread design chews up turf. Not a valid complaint just an observation. I probably should have bought a different tread design so this review is for informational only. Fair price.

Put these tires on a Suzuki carry all four wheel drive truck. 3 of the 4 tires balanced with less then an ounce. Heavy construction and nice tread pattern for most any terrain. Stobs and thorn shiver at the sight of these.

The description states fits UTV. Even list my brand, my year model, and even the size of my Polaris Ranger. Which in fact, these tires are for ATV only. With a 7psi max rating and or 300 lb weight. As we all kn.

A UTV Ranger requires 10 psi max rating. Very disappointed. Misleading product. A waste of my money.

These are not bighorn originals. These are made in China but for the price they are worth it. They are narrower than original bighorns. But if they last me 3-4 years then I could buy four sets of these versus one set of real bighorns.

Will let you know how they perform later.

I ordered these tires because I live in a very dry, desert area and did not want mud tires like the ones that originally came on the quad. I have only put a few miles on the tires, but like them so far.

Time will tell if they are durable enough to hold up in the rocky terrain where they will be operated.

I bought these for my RTV900 and they work great. I’ve only been using them a month so time will tell how durable they are. The tire shop had a really hard time putting them on because of the 8ply.

I bought a 2019 CanAM Maverick Sport XMR that comes with the ITP Cryptic tire, fantastic tire for a mud machine, but I didn’t buy the XMR for the tires or it’s ability in the mud, I bought it for all the other options it had that the Sport DPS didn’t.

I wanted a solid trail tire that could still handle some mud. These Maxxis Carnivores are perfect, smooth ride on hard surfaces, crazy traction on the trail, not afraid to plow through some mud and can handle some rock crawling.

Precisely the kind of trails I ride in Ontario, Canada.

Really love the tires the only thing I have a problem with is they were shipped on 2 separate tracking orders, 1 tire arrived on Monday and after 2 calls to FEDX and a headed discussion on the second call I finally received the second tire on Friday.

Missed the tire shop and had to dismount old tire and mount the second myself. Not fun for a 75 year old. But great tire and good price. Yes I know , it’s COVID and lazy ass people. Thanks for asking.

The Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 is what came on my Can-Am Maverick X3 when I purchased it. I bought this one as a spare. I like the ride, feel and grip of this tire, it works well in all conditions.

Big ride coming up so that will be the true test. I like this tread pattern as it seems to be a nice cross for multiple types of terrain. My first set of Bighorns still had tread left at 4,000 miles but had some cuts that were a little too deep for my liking so opted to purchase new.

Hope these perform, as well as the first set.

I was looking for a nice mud tire without the mud tire weight for the size and smooth ride for the best price and this is it!!! I purchased 28x10x12 for all 4 tires and run 4. 5 pounds in the front and 4 pounds in the back.

Runs smooth on pavement, dirt and rocks, don’t drive long on pavement tho these arn’t meant for it. All in all will buy again when the time comes. 28x10x12 weigh 26 pounds, the same size silverbacks weigh 36.

Dropped 40 pounds off to get better acceleration and top speed.

For those who ride in Ontario: I’ve tested the rear tire at RJ Motosport & Track 15. RJ is mostly soft sand with wet spots after grooming. The traction was perfect when I used the intermediate side of the tire.

Track 15 is mostly sandy but it’s packed. I drifted a lot n the corners.

Rode it in medium terrain (some soft, some mud, a little rooted, sparse rocks): excellent tire. Rode it in hard pack, rubble, roots…. Terrible, not designed for a multi purpose use…. Unless you are going to run 15psi.

However, on my older 450, the higher front end weight allowed for higher pressure to be run and still have a stable feedback.

I ride alot of sand , hard dirt, rocks and slick mud. Tire has good traction everywhere. Good looking Tire. Good price.

Very strong and durable tires and they grip on every terrain I have traveled. I have found if you do not need brute horsepowerto muscle through the surface you are riding on, then the minimum amount of throttle to keep you moving is best.

If you throttle too muchyou run the risk of just digging in when its not necessary, The 6-ply sidewall protects the rim from damage and allows a very stable ride at low PSI. I experimented with my tires and found that 3 PSI works very well for me on a Honda Foreman 500 with a 35 quart cooler filled with 40 cans of beverages and 20 pounds of ice on the back rack and me at 320 pounds.

These are excellent tires, this is my second front set. I did cut one on a sharp rock at 2000 miles so I replaced two. That said, the rear tires are at 2600 and will probably last 4500 miles before needing replacement.

FYI: I do not run on any pavement.

When I ordered these tires I did not think they would have been has tough and rugged as they actually are. These tires are good on loose gravel, excellent in the bog, and works through the mud. I have them on a 1999 Yamaha Kodiak 400 4×4 and where they are heavier tires I’d like to have a little more power to really give them a good going over.

Overall I recommend them for basically every condition and buy them from Traxion because I saved $100+.

I had an alignment issue with too much toe out that coincided with a road getting paved and we started riding more on paved surfaces on parts of organized rides (the front tires wore down fast). The rear tires show some wear but not enough to replace since its an 02 Foreman with 2WD/4WD.

I believe the compound is too soft for someone riding mostly on pavement, but this tire and tread is meant to be ridden on dirt. Tires have good traction in mud and for woods riding to set a stand or bring a buck out.

Never had to patch or plug the first set but that may just be luck.

Tires arrived, had them mounted, test drive noticed much smoother than factory tires. Then a foot of snow fell. Drove through no problem in two wheel drive. AWESOME. Highly recommend.

Arrived as described. Advertised as 26×7. 5. I couldn’t find anything in the description that pointed to a 7. 5″ tread so I took a chance and purchased a pair. Description was accurate but what part is 7.

5″? I’m happy that the tread is what I needed 5. 5″.

Great looking tire, fast delivery as always, tire looks to be of great quality. Mounted them on my 4 inch wide Weld wheels. Only disappointment is that the tires do not measure to the 26 inch specified height.

I even call MT and they said they would, nope. 25 to or just a bit over 25 inches tall fully inflated. Just advertise them for what they will be, otherwise very nice.

I Have been using Nothing But Mickey Thompson tires on all my Hot rods and street Cars for Years. I will only use Mickey Thompson Tires. they hold up well. I have the Sportsman 33×19’s on the back since 2002 Nothing wrong with them.

I bought a John Deere S160 lawn tractor last year and I kept getting stuck on the slopes with one tire loosing traction. Replaced the stock 20-10-8 with these. They are about two inches narrower, but they keep good traction.

It was much cheaper than replacing the tractor with one with locking diff.

bought a set for my Honda Pioneer 700. it was quite a challenge getting the beads to pop on the rims when I installed the tires, I had to inflate them to nearly 40 psi for the beads to seat. most of my use is on pavement or gravel roads.

they are quiet, steering takes less effort and I think the transmission shifts easier now due to less rolling resistance. they performed better in mud than I expected although they don’t clean out well, which just also expected.

I’m happy with mine.

Bought these to put on my garden tractor to blow snow without using chains. They work great, can even use the plow blade with ease. Saves the chains beating up my asphalt driveway.

I purchased these tires for my father for his Yamaha Rhino 450. He and I researched other brands, but decided on the Deestone Swamp Witch. He has loved this particular tire for over 10 years. He considered a 26” tire in another brand because the Swamp Witch is limited in sizes.

He returned back to the Swamp Witch because it has never failed him. Priority Tire was amazing because I ordered these tires on Monday and they came in on Friday, Christmas Eve, the busiest time of the year!.

Amazing tires tread is just beefy aggressive and exactly what they described and promised 6 ply rugged rubber gunna be amazing once ther on. I recently bought a different four wheeler and have kenda bear claws on back and I think kenda executions on front and they were amazing with the buy and these swamp witches o man let me tell u what they look even better then them bear claws and I’m just about certain will perform just as great if not better.

Eventually maybe I’ll share some pics when there all installed and ripping rooster tails!!! Love them!!!.

Got them installed on our Grasshopper mower, test drive was awesome. Deep lugs should not slip in wet conditions or dry! Quality of the tire is great, 6 ply should outlast the mower, lol. They’ll be used on a daily basis and I expect great results by the look and feel of these tires.

Little extra effort mounting them on Grasshopper rims but got-r-done with the help of a space heater. Bottom line: These are amazing tires at an amazing price, $108 total for the pair from SimpleTire.

Great tires. Only downside is they flat spot when the machine sits during off season. It goes away once they are warmed up. Not really a big deal. I think it is a fair trade for the long life and durability.

The dealership had brand new Sedona rims and tires on my utility atv when I purchased it and they were absolutely trash. I put these on and they are so much better quality and have more grip on the trails.

Excellent didn’t have try to balance these tires The bear paws were terrible nobody could balance them
