Best Thread For Brother Sewing Machine (2023 Updated)

Beautiful aurifil color that is perfect for EPP project. Dk Delft is not too dark, but works well with dark blue fabric. I hadn’t shopped FQQS in awhile and a friend reminded me to check it out when I was looking for some thread.

She loves this site and now so do I. I’ve been finding a great selection of things I’m looking for (aurifil & fabric lines). Very competitive prices, everything arrives when they said it would and good packaging.

I have been doing more and more of my shopping on FQQS.

Aurifil is my go to thread for piecing and quilting on my home machine. My only concern is the lint that comes off and into my feedogs and collects in the bobbin area. However, in the thread’s defense, I think this may be due in part to the fabric.

I just know that if I start getting skippex stitches I need to stop and brush out the lint. Dove and other light grey thread blends so well for quilting. Thank you FQS for the sale price on Aurifil. You made my day!.

This Aurifil Cotton Thread 2 Pack is such a great value. This 50wt thread is thin but strong and does not produce a lot of lint. I like the Dove color because it goes with so many colors. I really recommend this thread.

The threads sew up beautifully. I have been using them for a couple of days now on different fabrics and designs and have not encountered any problems. The colours are bright and match beautifully with the Brother threads.

They wash well, with no colour bleeding into the fabric. Fantastic value for money, highly recommend. Arrived very quickly.

This Embroidery Thread Kit offers so many shades of colors. Its very easy to pick the perfect color to blend in with my pattern. A friend told me she had looked everywhere for shades to blend in with her daughters mermaid shirts.

This thread is very strong but soft. I have used it for myself and washed my items in laundry. The thread colors have not faded. They still look as nice as they did when I embroidery them. This kit came in a attractive box with the threads color coordinated.

It looked beautiful. It also had nets included. These nets are to be used after you use your thread. You slip a net over the thread and store it with no worries of the thread getting unround. Great idea! This set was defiantly put together with quality and customer satisfaction in mind.

Great blending colour (grey). Doesnt tangle or shred during sewing. I use a Milliners needle size 11 and flat-back whip stitch. May seem fine compared to other sewing thread, but is strong. Would be good for appliqu too.

Fantastic thread to use for patchwork as well as appliqu. It almost disappears into the fabric when hand stitching. You only need this shade as it blends in with all fabric colours. Very strong and doesn’t seem to knot at all.

Haven’t used it on machine so can’t comment.

This thread is the one used by the professionals, and they use it with great results at their classes, everyone wants some when they see the beautiful outcome. I use the gray colour one mostly. I use it with small English paper piecing, I am doing my C&G in Quilting and Patchwork and miniature patchwork is a requirement for the Diploma.

This gives a lovely lightweight smooth finish to my work. Essential thread for lots of different things.

I love this thread. I have been using it now for about two weeks in my embroidery machine and I am had maybe 3 thread breaks. Every other brand I’ve used I’m constantly rethreading but not with embroidex.

Aurifil thread is superb for piecing, quilting, mending, everything! It doesn’t shred or break and it threads beautifully through my sewing machines (yes, five!). Although I purchased a neutral color, I love the fact that the Aurifil color selection is limitless and if necessary, I can choose one that matches my project.

This is an excellent quality sewing thread. Suitable for most sewing needs. Packs come in varying colours. I chose the primarily white and black selection.

My friend is new to sewing and was pleased with this variety pack of threads, as she’s starting out with smaller projects in a mix of colours. Güterman threads are always good quality and the pack is also good value for money.

A really handy combination of colours. So good to be able to buy several reels of cotton together. Love to have a stash of them.

I was recommended Gutermann Sew-All for a satin dress I am sewing. The teal color matched my fabric perfectly, so I decided to use it. I have a vintage sewing machine, and the fabric is lightweight. I have never had problems with thread breaking in my machine before.

First, I bought a spool and I could barely go 3 feet before the thread broke. I was able to easily break the thread with my bare hands. I thought it was a rotten spool, so I bought two more spools from another location.

Again, the thread broke after a few feet. I have tried with cotton and polyester fabric, thinking it was my machine. and still the thread breaks. I’ll be sticking to my regular brand, which works fine.

Thank you Blick for having this thread. I bought 6 spools of Col. 20 white GUTERMANN 547 yard size. We live far off grid and don’t go to town often, so when I saw I was running very low on the main thread needed for my winter sewing project I looked online and saw Blick carries it.

That is good news for me because I have bought other things from them and knew I can trust their service. It took a few extra days to get the package due to the heavy snow fall of the passing storm. It is an all day trip to a sewing store in our area that carries the same thread.

I needed a few new thread colors for a project I was doing in a class, and I noticed the instructor using Gutermann thread. I don’t usually get this brand because it’s more expensive, but it happened to be on sale the day I stopped in so I decided to try it, and I’m so glad I did.

I can tell the thread is a higher quality than I usually use–it feels stronger, the thread is a consistent thickness, and it was easy to find colors to match my fabric perfectly. Not that my previous thread was bad (I’ve used it for years), but this feels like a step up.

After using it, I’d say Gutermann is worth the extra cost, but I’ll still be watching for future sales to stock up on new colors!.

Love Gutermann thread. A dream to work with in my machine and hand sewing. Sturdy and great colors. Doesn’t fade or bleed the color when washed. Very long lasting quality and 500 yards means I don’t need to replace often.

Definitely worth the price especially when on sale or with a coupon. It’s all I use!.

Please double check that the color you select matches the item name. They are mixing thread names and colors and sending incorect thread. The thread itself is amazing, but usless of you get the incorrect color.

This is a very good quality all purpose thread. Great for a reliable machine thread as it rarely shreds during use. I find it perfect when used with my Janome machine. There may be cheaper threads on the market but this will save you money in the long run.

I was looking for a 100% cotton thread for quilting that was not as expensi e ae the ‘fancy’ imported threads, AND i wanted something i could run out and buy locally and not wait for shipping! My local Joann’s had this Coats & Clark and its AWESOME!! you can feel the silky softness of it, just by touching it and yet it is tough and strong and help up beautifully in piecing and machine quilting!! Once your seams are pressed, it disappears right into the fabric! And yet for quilting, it has a gorgeous soft sheen that looks beautiful on top of the fabric as well!! Joann also sells a larger spool of this with around 1100 yards.

Its a bit thicker weight – at 30wt – than a typical 50wt piecing thread but it worked great in my machine with a regular size 80 needle. You may want to size up to a 90 needle when quilting though, so it can flow through the eye more easily.

i REALLY loved this thread!! That is why i am back online today, to order a few colors ofnit, that arent carried in store. that is my ONLY complaint – I WISH my store carried more colors!! But i am ordering this online, when i could go elsewharere and order the fancy threads, if that tells you how much i loved it!!!.

I bought this thread because the label said “Machine Quilting,” but it sure didn’t work in my machine. The thread repeatedly frayed and broke, even after repeated tension adjustments. I finally loaded some ordinary cotton-covered polyester and no problems at all.

First and foremost, Coats and Clark is the only brand I use. I’ve tried the more expensive brands but found that my machine, a Janome, doesn’t run as smoothly as it does with the C and C. I make neck ties, and have found the quilting threads to be the best thread to use, in both my machine and when hand sewing.

Since purple is the most single color tie requested, I use a lot of it. It makes no difference what the color, Coats and Clark is just the best, in my opinion.

I have just used my first Hemmingworth thread purchase. I did an FSL Dreamcatcher. It stitched out very well. No thread breaks or glitches on my Janome 500e. I also love the plastic case around it. Keeps the thread dust free.

The embroidery threads are true to the colours shown on my screen, I love the plastic case to keep the threads clean and tangle free. The snips and torch are very handy. My order was delivered quickly.

I purchased 2 spools of Coats & Clark thread, in “Bright Sapphire” & “Neon Green”. The quality is excellent; it’s reasonably sturdy, & I’ve yet to have a thread break on me. It’s also soft & thin & drapes well.

The 1 con is that in order to secure the end of the thread, it really helps to have long thumb nails; there’s a thin groove around the plastic ends of the spool, & I had to use my nail in order to wedge the thread into it.

Bright Sapphire is a beautiful shade of medium cobalt/electric blue. Neon Green is pretty much what you’d expect. I was hoping it would be darker, more like a kelly green (that’s how the color looked on my monitor) but alas, it’s true to its name.

It’s a nice green, & definitely not too yellow.

I love Coats and Clark threads! I recently read about how the two companies merged and became Coats and Clark. They were both huge companies in Paisley, Scotland after Napoleon Bonaparte stopped the silk thread from entering England, causing a great shortage of silk thread.

This resulted in the invention of cotton thread and many companies opening up in Paisley, Scotland. It’s a very interesting story, for those of us interested in history.

I ordered black and white thread. Using it for hand sewing, mostly for clothing repairs (when clothes/socks get holes and we repair them). Strong thread, holds well, sews well easy to use. Arrived quickly.

I have used and recommended this thread since the 1970s when I first started using it. Trouble-free sewing (little-to-no shedding, tangling, or other naughty thread habits). Beautiful color selections that give both color number and color name.

I had a periwinkle blue dress that I needed to bring in but wanted to find the closet color match possible. 930 Periwinkle worked out great! The thread is very strong and durable. Glad I took a chance on this brand!.

I am disappointed because you don’t list the thread color number. Without the color number I don’t know if I am getting the right color. I like the thread.

I am new to sewing and ordered this because it was recommended by other sewers. However when I got it; it was hard for me to find where the thread was to be separated from this type of spool. My machine indicates thread should be put on so the thread feeds from the bottom of the spool.

This seems to feed from the top. Not sure about using it yet till I figure that out.

Triangle paper is fantastic. Keeps piecing fun and accurate! You will mot regret this purchase. Aurifil speaks for itself. All packaged with care and my order arrived sooner than expected.

I was sewing for years before I tried this thread because I am thrifty and couldn’t believe it made that much of a difference. It does! This thread is so thin in removes bulk from seams and makes every project go smoother.

I bought this thread recommended from the “Alabama Chanin” book sets that I’ve acquired. The garments are all handmade with 100% cotton jersey, and all stitches are hand-sewn using Coats & Clark “button” thread.

It’s definitely an investment worth all the time put into these garments. For garment seams, use this. I’ve tried less expensive alternatives with negative outcomes (popped stitches, and tangled messes).

All the decorative designs, and embroidered stitches are done with different thread. So your initial purchase of this thread will last a while. Highly recommended for Alabama Chanin inspired wardrobes!!.

Since being a beginner, my husband had bought me a sewing machine years ago, but was to busy to ever get it out. But with the current world conditions I decided to give sewing a try. Needed to buy all the small necessities like thread.

It’s hard to find decent thread for quilting. They sell excellent thread but occasionally the thread gets knots in it while machine quilting.

I love this thread. The cone is a great value and the thread lasts a long time. I’ve used several so fine cones and have never experienced breakage or had tension issues. My machine (Pfaff Creative Sensation Pro II) does all the decorative stitches, walking foot function, free motion quilting,.

I use this thread when ever I can’t figure out WHAT color to use for machine quilting. It disappears on the back of a quilt, It is almost like it reflects the color around it. Especially useful on multi color backgrounds.
