Tried this for the first time last week. I used a curl cream (weightless air dry cream by Curlsmith) first, then this product, then the Curlsmith Flexi Jelly. My normal routing usually give good definition and good volume, but I just wanted to try to get a little more volume.
The first impression was okay, I felt that the hair felt a little “fluffier” but in my opinion it came at the cost of texture. I felt that definition was a little lost and by day two, when I usually have decent definition if I protect my curls overnight, my hair was looking quite dry.
I also found that the product tends to flake a little, I could see tiny white flecks in my hair (I only used three pumps of product and I never get this in my normal routine). By day three my roots felt sticky, which is another new thing for me.
I am going to persevere with the product and try using even less, or layer it with a different product, but first impressions are, this new Curlsmith thickening lotion is not one that I will be repurchasing.
Too expensive for a product that didn’t give me any better results than a cheap brand.
I was extremely skeptical of this product, but being a CurlSmith user I decided to give it a try. The first day I really didn’t notice much of a difference at first. then I looked in the mirror after diffusing.
OH. MY. GOODNESS. I couldn’t believe the volume. Even my cowlick (which is extreme low density area) looked plumped. I barely had to cover that spot. I’ll definitely purchase a back up because once people find out about this.
it will sell out. For reference my go to styling routine is the following: I use the Featherlight leave in, seal it with a couple of drops of Olaplex oil, then used this and styled with the Verb Curl Foam.
I don’t think I’ve ever had this much volume before. If it’s going to be too humid. depending on the day I use as a last step either the NYM Hard hold gel or the Light gel from Bounce Curl to block the humidity.
And I used the Clarity shampoo bar from the Vida bars to wash and used Miribel Naturals Protein conditioner that can be used as a leave in or rinse out conditioner. Sometimes I use the CurlSmith multitasker.
The first time I used this on my hair (2C/3A, medium-low porosity), I did see a little lift at my roots, but nothing crazy. It seemed to diminish definition in some of my curls – they were more voluminous, but seemed stretched out/almost straight towards the top of my head.
I was surprised at how incredible the hype was surrounding this product considering I barely noticed the effect at all. I don’t think you’re supposed to use a ton of it, given that the pump on the bottle is so small, but wasn’t sure.
So I watched tutorials of how to apply it and tried again. It barely does anything to my hair. It also seems to make it a little more difficult for my gel to form a cast. Overall, I would not buy this again.
I’ll keep experimenting with it until I use up the bottle, but after will stick to my usual product routine.

I have never had a worse experience with a hair product than with this product. I have fine hair so I was excited to try but this literally felt like glue in my hair. After I applied, all my hair clumped together, making it look like I had numerous bald spots.
When I tried to brush it out, my hair just moved in a large clump. I literally could not comb my fingers through the product. I tried to use water to rinse it out and it did nothing. I legit had to wash my ahir with shampoo quickly in the sink before work to get the product out.

OK so I had a frizz reducing treatment done to my hair and it absolutely knocked out ALLLL of my natural volume. I thought i’d have to wait months for my hair to grow out, but then I found this product.

I’m Mexican, Native, and Spanish of decent, in that order. I have a bit finer yet strong to thick hair from the Native, but have a little wave and a little straight from the Mexican and Spanish sides.
This product doesn’t weigh my hair down, whilst giving it a naturally styled look. And generally even in Midwest winters, this product does a great job of hydrating my hair. It can be hard to find good product for “in-betweeners”, but give this product a shot if you and your hair match that profile.
I also have a lot of topical allergies and sensitivities, whilst I cannot say this is fully hypoallergenic because I am not sure, I have had no issues from it (let alone from this whole brand), and I have pretty severe topical allergies.
All in all, can’t beat immediate results of this product for the price.

As someone who’s always struggled with “volume insecurity” I was skeptical that this product could give my naturally straight, thin hair the weightless volume it so boldly promised. I just used this last night and am so Pleasantly amazed at how beautiful and full my hair looks. I took a shower, using my usual shampoo and conditioner. When my hair was almost 50% dry I sprayed 4 spritzes down my hair and then combed it thru.
I set my blow dryer on medium speed and medium heat. Then I blow dried until it was 95% dry. Done. Looks so very much fuller. Helpful to know, I’m 59 and have fine thin hair so almost always have it up in a ponytail.

I’ve used this product once so far and I have to say, so far so good. As I’m writing this I’m on day 3 hair which is usually my flattest day but I’ve still got volume. I’ve got really heavy straight hair so it is really hard to keep volume and this works really well.

Im someone who has always been skeptical of setting sprays because the drug store options over promise and under deliver, but I still have a hard time justifying spending $40+ on a good setting spray when I can use that money for other things.

I was interested in buying the Caudalie Beauty Elixir for a while because I wanted a setting spray that also made my skin look really dewy and healthy, but I decided not to purchase it because some videos of people wearing the Caudalie Beauty Elixir make them look almost shiny, and I have oily skin.
If you want a setting spray that makes your skin look refreshed but not dewy, this is a great product for you. The reason I gave this product 4 stars out of 5 is because the smell isn’t very pleasant.
Once you get used to it, it’s fine, but it’s definitely not a fruity or floral scent I’m used to getting from products. I also can’t compare my experience to other setting sprays because before this, I was using aloe vera and water in a spray bottle as a setting spray (which worked pretty well, actually, but I couldn’t get it to spray out evenly like I can with the Pure Bliss).
