20 Best Tablet For 200 Dollars (2023 Updated)

Just a few minor comments, mainly about the S-Pen (stylus) that’s included with this tablet. I am glad to have a chance to try the S-Pen. It appears to have a flexible nylon nib and motion and/or distance sensor, eg.

when you press a bit on the surface of the tablet the nib bends a little and (as an example) Autodesk’s Sketchbook program makes your stroke thicker, based on the new data. I was pretty much up and sketching right after unboxing, and after setting aside the rather silly (and undocumented) business of “Bixby” which appears to be Samsung’s idea of a virtual assistant a la Siri/Alexa/Cortana.

On my edition of the tablet some of the fixings for “Bixby” popped up unheralded and without prior warning. I chose this tablet after watching comparative reviews on Youtube – Samsung Galaxy S6 Lite vs.

iPad. I think my having experience with Samsung’s Galaxy A5 smartphone was a plus as there is really zero documentation in the box. In the recent past I’ve found it a bit hard to understand how a generic stylus can generate either a very thick or a very thick line on the phone, depending on your temporary choices of “brushes” in software.

(-: Sketchbook employs an arcane method of choosing how to save a drawing,. PNG being the default and. PSD being a somewhat hidden option for export. It also employs. TIFF files internally if you can figure that out.

Placing the tip of the S-Pen close to the surface of the tablet also invokes a hidden icon shortcut to “Air Command” menu – easy to miss in my opinion. And I am still a bit confused about the cost of replacing/backing up the S-Pen, and I think the tri-axial Apple Pencil is evolving faster than I can track it.

As well, with some of the Wacom “Bamboo” styluses the nylon nibs are a consumable? No idea how long they last.

This either was or was my second of the same kind of tablet and I was so happy because I needed one for so long since my MacBook went out on me. Definitely wasn’t disappointed! It took less that half a day to figure out the difference between the iOS system and Android but it’s all pretty self explanatory.

I’d definitely say it went really well and I prefer watching things on my (Now upgraded but still Samsung Android) tablet). Highly recommend, even for the apple freaks out there lol. Biggest bonus: If you have a Costco membership that slashes the prices down even more! ☺ï¸.

This has been hands down one of my favorite tablets to use daily. The 9. 7 in screen is just the right size for me from streaming Netflix and Hulu , to browsing on Pinterest , playing my mobile games , surfing the web , and social media.

It handles day to day tasks with a breeze. The tablet is a bit heavier than other tablets I have used in the past. The battery life is phenomenal. I get about almost two days with heavy use. and it would stay on for almost a week with light use.

The volume is decent for a tablet , I can play Spotify and easily listen to it with no problems or complaints. This tablet has a handy meme pet card slot to expand the storage space which I absolutely love , and think all devices should have this option.

The tablet runs smooth and is fairly quick with loading apps, I haven’t had many crashes of applications either. The tablet seems incredibly well built , it is Samsung though and the products I have owned of this brand are great and is what keeps me coming back and trusting the brand.

The screen is vibrant and it is just a beautiful powerhouse tablet that doesn’t break the bank!.

I’ve owned this tablet since 2015, and it’s still going strong! The screen has held up a hell of a lot better then I was expecting, with only a few shallow scuff marks that are barely visible, I use this tablet mainly for Spotify, Pinterest, Reddit and Crochet projects.

The camera has sadly been rendered useless due to multiple little scratches to the camera lense and the battery life is actually rather impressive and charges faster then my Samsung Tab 2 9. 7.

I was happy with this phone so far. It’s a bit of a downgrade from my aging Galaxy s model but to be honest I didn’t see much of a difference between this one and the flagships. The phone quality is as good as the S models.

It does have a plastic back but if you are going to use a case it’s no big deal. The processor speed fits my needs. If you are a big gamer or social media user you may need to charge your phone more often.

But for me even on my heavy Social media usage days I still have enough battery life to get me through the day. Overall the phone fit my needs. The cameras work well and take clear photos. The call quality is clear and I haven’t had any dropped calls.

I liked the option for the expandable storage as well. I will not that the phone does not include a SIM card or a charging block. Set up on my current cell provider was a breeze so I haven’t had any real issues as of yet.

I’ve owned my SM-350 Tab A for about five years now, and it keeps going. It’s not much more than a backup device I’ll occasionally use for playing Spotify or YouTubing, but if you don’t mind the laggy performance it suffers with modern apps, it can serve a purpose.

Serious Con: There are no Samsung/Android OS updates for it for quite a while now. I’m running Android 9. This can be a security risk, so be mindful of how and where you still use it in 2023 and beyond.

Pro: In Airplane Mode with Wi-Fi on, battery life is still quite good after all this time. Streaming Netflix etc. is perfectly acceptable if you aren’t multi-tasking.

love this tablet so much that i bought one for each of my family members. along with the otterbox for protection. the only con is after a couple of years of having the tablet, samsung discontinued the tablet and any new updates that would accomodate the apps.

there is no point of using the tablet because now it runs slow, and most apps are not comparable. wish they would allow us to trade more than two tablets. the second ine is less than the forst trade at the same timez they basically give you $25 to trade the tablet for a new $250 tablet.

IšverstiShow in original languagePurchased a Lenovo Smart Tab M8 with Google Assistant in November 2020. Have taken good care of it and it’s only been lightly used. In March of 2022 I tried to power it on, but it’s “hung”, meaning it comes on but it won’t move past the red Lenovo banner that displays at start up.

It won’t boot to the operating system or the home screen. Naturally it waited until it was out of warranty to fail. Took it to my local repair spot who said it’s in a “boot loop” and the battery has failed.

After only a year and a half of light use? Seriously? And the replair place can’t repair it because they can’t find a replacement battery since it’s considered “old” (M8 vs the newer M10) and Lenovo doesn’t sell parts for their own devices.

Can’t get it fixed through Lenovo b/c their service is a minimum cost of $200, which I don’t even know if that includes the repair cost or if repair cost is in addition to that. Either way that’s twice what I paid for the tablet to start with so I now have a useless brick and won’t purchase Lenovo again.

Very disappointed.

IšverstiShow in original languageThis is one of the better Android tablets I’ve used. It is fast and works like a charm. I have tried to break it or make it crash, but it has not yet happened. It is not an advanced tablet for power users, but a device designed for moderate users.

The 2 GBs of RAM seems a bit too low for this device: however, I have experienced no major issues. It can use both Google Assistant and Alexa. Although this one came with the Alexa Dock, it is compatible with the standard Lenovo charging dock, which works well with Google Assistant.

Unfortunately, the charging dock is not sold as a stand-alone item, but if one owns a second Lenovo family M-Series tablet, regardless of size, the dock works. It is also a great alternative for stand-alone smart speakers and devices issued by major brands.

Highly recommended for moderate users but not for power users.

I ordered two of these tablets. Nice display and docking station and solid, well-constructed tablet. I’ve had continuing and frustrating problems with WiFi on both tablets that I continue to troubleshoot by easter-egging.

One worked fine on my 5GHz WiFI (but dropped intermittently), but wouldn’t connect to my 2. 4GHz WiFi. Second one wouldn’t stay connected to either WiFi network. Returned the second one for a replacement.

Replacement would drop 5GHz and connect to 2. 4GHz, but would lock up and not function until I disconnected and reconnected. Finally, after reading Lenovo forums, I turned off Bluetooth on both tablets since it appears to interfere with 2.

4GHz WiFi. Both tablets worked intermittently on both WiFi freqs. Finally, disconnected first tablet from 2. 4GHz and used only 5GHz and disconnected second tablet from 5Ghz and used only 2. 4GHz, with Bluetooth off on both tablets, and they seem to be working OK for now.

No issues with my router, and all other WiFi devices work perfectly on both WiFi freqs. Still considering returning both.

It’s the perfect size for digital comics being just slightly small than a typical comicbook. It feels sturdy and yet very slim and portable, easy to slip into your backpack or even coat pocket. Upgrading from my 8″ Iconia Tab 8 the bigger screen is really nice even tho the resolution is the same 1920×1200.

However, It only has a USB C port and an audio jack, but no mini HDMI port like the Iconia. The biggest draw back, which would have been a deal-breaker for me had I known about it before purchase, is the method for inserting the microSD chip.

Instead of the standard MicroSD port you find on most tablets and laptops these days, it has a flimsy plastic “tray” that can only be ejected with a special pin tool. The tray holds a MicroSD and SIM card, but the MicroSD has to be balanced vertically in the tray, then you need to carefully insert the tray without the slightest jiggle.

If you have the tiniest shake the MicroSD will slip out of the tray and become jammed ontop/behind the tray inside the tablet. It is EXTREMELY hard to get this to work right, no matter how careful you are.

And once it is jammed you risk breaking the tray and the SD card trying to get them out. I do not think the tray will survive this procedure more than 10-20 times (if you are lucky) over the entire life of the product.

I’ve had my Iconia since 2015 and have put the SD in and out hundreds of times without the slightest issue. I fear Lenovo Tab M10 Plus tablet will not last as many years if I am putting the SD card in and out every week or so.

When (not if) it breaks you can buy a replacement tray for “only” $40. LOL. I have managed to get a 128GB sd card in the slot. I plan to leave it in there permanently and just use the USB C to upload files.

If I had known the SD card was this style, i definitely would have bought a different product. So, i am disappointing with this design choice. If you plan on frequently inserting/removing SD cards, you may want to keep looking for a tablet that has the ordinary, reliable, easy to use MicroSD port.

I got this for reading books and graphic novels. E-readers are great for books, but aren’t the best for comics/manga/etc. especially if your source material is in color, hence the need for a tablet that doesn’t break the bank.

The 1080p screen is great for reading, casual web browsing, and watching videos/movies. Though it is acceptably bright for indoors use, It may be a little dark if you want to use the screen outside in direct sunlight.

64gb of storage is a little on the small side, but the included expansion slot fixes that minor issue. I’m a big fan of Lenovo’s added feature to limit the battery’s charge to something under 100% (since full charging lithium ion batteries puts a lot of stress on them) but I would have liked to see the percentage cutoff for that feature at 75-85% and not 60% of the total battery (I can’t find a way to change it).

As an aside regarding other reviews for this product relating to the gesture button at the bottom of the screen- you can change your navigation options when setting up the tablet (and afterwards in the settings menu too) as they are an android feature and not one specific to this device.

I use the standard 3 button navigation at the bottom of this tablet’s screen and it works exactly as it should. I haven’t tried gaming on this as I didn’t purchase it w/ that intention, so I cannot speak on its gaming capabilities.

Real good tablet, minimal preloaded apps hence minimal pop up ads. A lot of the preloaded apps can be uninstalled without messing up the tablet’s function so you get even less ads. So much better than the Fire tablets that drown you with those stinking ads and then they expect you to pay to remove them.

This tablet may cost a little bit more than other tablets but it’s not that much more and definitely worth the price. As far as the seller goes, all I can say is that I got my tablet on time and it works great.

The only reason I give it 4 stars and not 5 is bcz of where the power button and volume button are located. (Another reviewer on Amazon complained about this too. ) When you hold the tablet vertically those buttons are right where your fingers naturally placed to hold the thing in your hand.

I have to make a conscientious effort to put my fingers either above or below the buttons or I’ll accidentally raise or lower the volume or shut the tablet off. It’s annoying. It’s annoying to have to think about where I’m going to place my hand to hold my tablet so I don’t mess with buttons that I don’t mean to mess with.

I think they could have easily been placed at the top of the device and well out of the way. It was a lazy move on Lenovo’s part but other than this that tablet is a complete winner. I would gladly give it 5 stars if it wasn’t for that one very irritating feature that could’ve been easily avoided when in the design process.

I bought it at Walmart bcz at the time it was about 10 or 15 dollars cheaper than Amazon and their return policy (in case anything was wrong with it) is pretty much the same. Yes, it’s easy to set up and easy to use.

So far nothing irritating that I can think of except for the buttons. Actually, I don’t think that’s worth docking a whole star so I give it 4 1/2 stars!.

This is a good alternative to Samsung. Performance similar to the new Samsung Tab A 8. 0 2017 edition but $70-90 less. The few things you don’t get for the money in comparison to the Samsung is it has 5mp back and 2mp front camera and not a 8mp back and 5mp front, only 16gb not 32gb of storage and no auto brightness.

The screen brightness and battery life is very good comparable to Samsung and the stereo speakers are excellent. This tablet also has an FM radio and a notification light that adds a nice touch to it that most tablets don’t have.

There is much less bloatware. I know comparison to the older Samsung Tab A 8. 0, it probably has 350-500mb less storage taken up from bloatware. As for an example, Microsoft Office with Skype and OneDrive uses up about 350mb, with Samsung you can’t uninstall it but Lenovo you can.

Lenovo has its own Weather, sound recorder and some goofy introduction app you can’t uninstall but the storage space taken is very minimal. This does have a stock Android feel to it but Samsung is known for its bells and whistles with their version.

For example, the Split-screen is very stock on this and Samsung designed their to almost behave like Microsoft Windows with changing the size, have more then two window open and minimize feature with a floating icon that can be reopen.

But on an 8 inch screen, how many apps will you have on one screen? Also bezel does not have physical navigation buttons so the navigation is on screen. Not very noticeable when in portrait mode but the screen does feel a little smaller in landscape mode.

Many apps have a navigation button auto hide when scrolling or watching a video so the screen looks full screen. I think that is a personal preference if someone wants a tablet with onscreen or physical buttons.

All in all, it is a great tablet and an excellent alternative to a Samsung. I decided to try this brand out because I am a Moto phone fan and I haven’t been disappointed.

Bought this tablet to replace my iPad Mini 2 that’s aged and slow. I use my tablet for simple tasks in the office e. g. OneNotes, Excel, browsing internet, checking emails etc. For the heavy lifting, I use my Lenovo Laptop.

Instead of paying premium for an Apple device, I’ve decided to explore budget tablets. Given this is a budget tablet, I was sceptical about its reliability and performance. But being a happy Lenovo ThinkPad user, I’ve decided to try out a demonstration unit in the store.

First of all, it is a budget device, but it’s not cheaply built. The body is finely built and the plastic doesn’t feel cheap. It does not have a high performance processor, but apps can be loaded and run smoothly.

With dual screen capability, I can read emails and browse the internet side-by-side, seamlessly. Updating the OS to the latest version did not slow down the device (Android 7. 1. 1). This device was released in late 2017, and it is still the current model.

Secondly, the screen is beautiful. It’s bright and displays beautiful colour. It’s not retina display, but it’s more than enough for reading text and watching Netflix. One feature worth noting is that this tablet comes with stereo speakers on landscape mode, which is an essential feature only available on the premium iPad Pro.

This gives you a much better user experience in watching videos. And yes, it has a headphone jack. The rear camera is good for taking photos and making notes in OneNotes. Front camera could be better, but I only use it for Skype (instead of selfies.

). Bottom line is, this high quality budget tablet can handle most business tasks easily. It’s light to carry around. For the price, I can chuck it around in the office without worrying too much about it (I didn’t even bother getting screen protectors and case).

If it slows down after a couple of years, I’ll just get a new one without burning a hole in my pocket. There is only one issue with the flashing green light at the front of the screen. It flashes when there’s a new notification.

Unfortunately, there is no way to disable it. But I check my emails regularly, so it doesn’t bother me. This device runs on a OS developed by Lenovo that’s built upon Android. Fortunately, it does not add too much default apps to it and keeping it very simple and clean to start with.

But 16 Gb internal memory is not a lot, so I suggest spending a little bit extra on a 16/32Gb micro SD card to give yourself a bit more space.
