20 Best Table Saw Push Stick (2023 Updated)

Great pushstick that offers good control and security when feeding work past the blade. The handle is angled slightly to the right, which isn’t obvious in the pictures, but it is a nice feature because it keeps your hand a bit further from the blade when your fence is on the right-hand side.

The plastic feels durable and the rubber pad on the sole holds the workpiece firmly without marring its surface.

This push stick makes it so easy to pass the wood by the blade. The handle is large enough to grab and your hand and fingers are no where near the saw blade. Great product!

For the price point this is a good set of push blocks/sticks. The gripping material on the bottom works well, and the hand holds are comfortable. These work well when trying to keep from losing a finger working around your table saw or router table.

Well worth the price.

These are just molded plastic with the 3 flat blocks having 1/8″ black rubber. Don’t let the rubber get too dirty, stains or finish on them. It could cause soft woods to mar, scratch or transfer. They are washable with mild dish soap and let dry.

I do a lot of small cutting on my table saw and these products keep my fingers away from the blade

Good quality push block for the money. They are a little small in surface area compared to the ones they are replacing, but are adequate. Would buy another pair. Good grip on wood surface

I work with cabinet grade plywood and veneers and they grip to the wood very nicely

I feel much safer using my table saw thanks to your products. You really should add some photos of the bottoms of the push blocks showing the rubber grips that are attached. In the photos you have, you can kind of see them, but I wasn’t sure until I got them in my hands.

Nice product for use on table saw and jointer. the bright colors are good for quickly locationing. The rubber pads on the bottom gripp the wook piece well.

These safety blocks are a nice item, they work well, and are comfortable to use. They keep your work item more secure and produce a consistent forward motion easily.

This looked like a nice product when I first received it. However, the first kick back of a board being ripped on my table saw broke 3 of the feather times off. The plastic is too brittle. Take a pass on this product.

This featherboard works great. You get two metal miter channel sizes. I was confused the first time I put it together and it didn’t lock into the miter slots. Duh. Pay attention to the sizes. This will adjust to some pretty weird angles.

I sometimes wish it were a little bigger. that’s why 4 stars. But with a little convincing it’s still a 5 star product IMHO.

I am a newbie to wood working and find the feather board is a nice safety tool to help me with different projects. The use of this feather board is especially useful for ripping thin pieces safely.

I’ve cut a fair amount of wood, usually larger pieces. I’ve always managed to be careful. Looked at the Gripper a while back, scoffed at the price and got some cheap push utensils. Recently started cutting some thin stock.

Used a thin push stick. I was in a bad position , reaching over and the thin push stick flipped either from my downward pressure or hitting the blade. Cut a piece of my thumb tip. Blood everywhere. Not a smooth cut, very ragged.

Luckily no bone, still got some nerve damage at the tip but no hospital. lucky. Went and ordered the Gripper and will get a second one. The physics are spot on and precisely why I decided to buy it. Used appropriately the stability is great.

I’m just getting used to it which is why 4 stars. Don’t take chances , eventually things happen.

This is a very well made device with adjustability to do just about anything except. I will always use my Sawstop guards which limit the use of push block. I will use basic push sticks and feather boards.

But. Any cuts where the guard, splitter and antilock pawls are removed, this push block is a must. I am looking forward to using this on my router table. I would definitely buy this tool again as it provides another option to be safe!.

I ordered this sort of on impulse based on a Rockler promotional sale email. It looked real great on the instructional video. It is well made, and looks just like the advertisements. I find it of limited application with my table saw, as it requires adjustment for each different use.

It also is useful only for relatively short pieces, and two of them are recommended for longer rips. I have all ten fingers intact after using stationary saws since 1970, and have always used push sticks and such.

I felt guilty about returning it, and didn’t, but will likely not use it exclusively.

This essential tool makes narrow rip cuts about as safe as they possibly can be. You should think of this safety item as a “rolling blade guard”. It firmly grips the piece being ripped and creates a stable platform for your hands above the blade, throughout the cut.

It guards your hands from a saw blade accident and it also reduces the chance for kickback as you can make a firm, confident push through the entire length of the workpiece. No fumbling with or for a push stick.

It takes time to work out how to use it. It is not simple but it is not overly complicated either. It is well worth a lifetime of safe rip cuts to take time at first to learn how to use the GRR-Ripper.

Watch the videos carefully and then set up various pieces and view the GRR-Ripper in relation to the blade before ever turning on the saw. An essential accessory is the Gravity Heel Kit. This should be the first thing you buy with your GRR-Ripper.

Buy this with the GR-200 rather than get the “Advanced”, which you can purchase later as you become familiar with the tool. These help tremendously with push stability and are designed to be sacrificial, saw through it with the blade.

Sight down the GRR-Ripper before every cut to ensure that you have lined up the legs properly. After that, it is pretty easy to confidently set up with speed. Remember, don’t make narrow rip cuts without it.

I even make wider cuts with the tool because the confidence it gives you in doing a correct speed push through the blade really minimizes kickback risk.

I bought two of these so I could have the same thing in both hands when ripping longer pieces. I have not had these for very long, but I have used them several times and I like them a lot. They are tall, so my hands are a good distance away from the blade and they are thick heavy duty plastic material.

Its easy to adjust if necessary, but I really don’t know if that’s going to be required very often. I just ripped a 8/4 thick piece of purple heart into 1/2″ strips. I would normally make cuts like this with the thin piece on the left side of the blade and move the fence for each cut.

Since the advertising says these are made so you can run repetitive cuts with the thin piece by the fence I decided I might as well see what I thought about doing it like that right from the get-go. I had complete control of the workpiece through the entire cut.

I never had any threat of kickback. Ripping the Purple Heart pushed my saw and circuit breaker to the limit though. Two of these are certainly handy for that kind of cut even if the set is a bit pricey.

I thought the adjustable leg height for ripping the edge on a thin piece was going to be gimmicky, but I have used it three times and its genius. I don’t know if I will ever use the large platform piece, so if I had a do over Might get the set one level down.

All in all no regrets though. Actually after just a couple more seconds of thought if I had a do over I would have purchased them the very first time I saw them instead of fiddling with home made sticks and cheap push blocks for all these years.

Don’t get me wrong, when I first got the cheap orange push block set I was quite pleased and at the same time nervous about the lack of distance between the blade and my hands when pushing wood past/over the blade.

These are just so much better for me I don’t really care that they are expensive.

When I first saw a Grr-Ripper demo some time ago, I thought, this is a pretty cool push block, having lots of configuration options, and the ability to cut very small wood pieces safely. But the price kept me away – until recently.

I got one as a gift and started using it, googling all the different configs and techniques, and trying it as often as I could. While it exceled in handling small pieces, long pieces were a challenge.

After I bit the bullet and bought GRR-Ripper number 2, I got a handle on (no pun intended) how to use both on long boards using a leapfrog technique. The price still stings – slightly. But I don’t have regrets in getting 2 blocks along with the 1/8 side pieces.

They’ve been working great for me, both on the table saw and my router table.

Handy kit for a router table or table saw. The padding holds my work pieces firmly. The magnet on the push stick is quite powerful. It doesn’t move from my table saw cabinet no matter the amount of vibration, but it still peels right off easily when I need the push stick.

Shortly after running a short piece of wood through my tablesaw, the piece slipped out allowing my left thumb to contact the blade. I’m extremely fortunate not to have lost the thumb. It took a nice chunk out, which has now healed.

when I saw this push-loc I ordered it immediately. I’m disappointed in the quality. It’s too lightweight and I question its durability. It will probably break if dropped on the concrete shop floor. I’ll continue to use it, especially for small short pieces.

I expected more from Bench Dog. I have several feather boards from them and they are excellent.

I picked this up at Rockler a couple of weeks ago because it was interesting and inexpensive. The tray won’t fit in my Delta fence, but I’ll come up with a work-around. The push block itself is surprisingly strong and rigid, is grippy underneath and has a nice, solid catch at the back for pushing your workpiece.

It would easily push through a quarter inch cut. Anything smaller than that you need a Gripper to do it safely. When you inevitably chew it up, it’s is inexpensive enough to simply replace.

I got this for cutting thin stock piece. I have used it a lot now and I can say. Yes I do like it and will be using it a lot more. Like all your other tools you need different push blocks there is no one fits all.

I like the way I can see what is going on when I push past the blade. I also like I can push thin stock through the blade and trim it down after its been cut and get really tight cuts close to the blade and not have my hands in any way near the blade.

My hand is way above it.

The GRR Gripper works well for its intended use. It definitely makes using machinery safer. However the add-on pieces raise the cost of the initial price considerably. Most of the upgrade and add-on pieces should be sold together with the basic unit even if that means a slightly higher initial price.

It is irritating to think you have a safe product only to find out it is not as safe as it could be if you upgrade. All of the intended uses of the item should be clearly stated on the original item.

Then pre-sale information should tell the buyer what must be added to really make the item as safe and useful as possible.

Very stable and feels much safer when using my saw compared to homemade push block or the push stick that came with the saw. Really helped keep 1/4” birch ply flat and against the fence when cutting several drawer bottom panels.

Easy to adjust for different widths to allow the blade to pass through while keeping my hand securely out of the way on top of the very sturdy handle. Bonus was the side drop down that stabilizes against the saw table when working with more narrow boards.

Even used on my router table when rounding over drawer face panels. Very pleased.

I moved 500 miles and thought this might be helpful for loading/unloading, but wheels are a bit small for long driveway negotiation. In the shop, however, it’s a breeze to move my 12″ table saw. I dropped in a a 3/4″ plywood platform to close the bottom for dust collection, and I have the saw set in against the front bars.

The leaves a length at the back that allows the dust chute connection to be protected. I’ve not yet set up my sliding table, which is why I got the extension. The front side drop locks work well once adjusted, with no apparent need for anything further at the back end.

My only gripe is the design with corner-only support. A provision for at least one additional platform support in the center of each side would fit my need better, but this has not generated a problem yet.

I bought this mobile base after being so dissatisfied with other bases. Purchased a SawStop cabinet saw and wanted a base that also supported the extension table legs. SawStop’s bases only lift the cabinet saw base and the extension legs hang with no support.

The Portamate 3750 supports the entire unit and provides a much more stable platform. I did have to modify the rails by cutting them down to fit more closely to the cabinet footprint and extension table legs dimension.

However, this mobile base was $120 less than SawStop’s industrial mobile base so it was well worth the effort. The base is well engineered and went together without issue.

The picture is not of the item you will receive. I wanted the one in the picture what shows it having castor wheels on all corners. What I received only has tow sets and two fixed wheels. I have a small shop and it’s hard to steer it around.

This is a nice little push stick, suitable for small-scale and hobby type work. It is smaller than the full-size push sticks that are more common. The blade is about 3/16″ wide, good for working with small or narrow pieces.

Overall length just under 10″. Plastic construction with rubber handle.

Very good item. Rigid enough to move the wood along, soft enough to not harm the blade if you get it in the cutting path. Excellent for thin ripping, and narrow enough to not get in the way on small pieces.

The only improvement I can think of would be to have a magnet embedded in it so as to hang it on the saw like other larger push sticks I’ve seen.

I really didn’t have much hope that this push stick would work but thought I’d give it a try with my tabletop jigsaw, which happens to be the same color. I was pleasantly surprised. Works great and certainly helps relieve the vibrations to my wrist.

It easily and safely pushes the item through the blade. Thick, durable plastic will last for years. Highly recommend.

This is a perfectly good push stick to save your digits from straying from their intended residence. It does a fine job of that. I have sawed some boards up using it already and. “Look ma, fingers!” To my surprise, when I bought my table saw (and this stick) there was an equally fine push stick included with the saw.

Mercy me, I now have two push sticks so I feel doubly safe. But be careful out there, sawblades are viscous and always ready to snag the errant digit.

I HAVE BEEN USING A BOARD TO PUSH THE BOARD I AM CUTTING THROUGH TO THE OTHER END OF THE SAW, BUT USING THIS LITTLE TOOL WORKS A LOT BETTER FOR ME.

Works good. Easy to stow and have at hand. Great safety device, with magnet it’s stored where you need it…better to have handy and use than risk serious injury.

Safe work practices start with tools like this. It’s ergonomically well made, slim enough to be used for all but the narrowest of cuts, and stays put when the magnet is placed against a metal surface.

My only gripe is that it needs a magnet on BOTH sides, so I don’t have to look away from my running saw to put it down where I can reach it again or bother turning it from one side to the other just to get it to attach.

Nice ergonomic handle design with a good handle guard to allow use of fingers or the entire grasped hand to rest against to prevent the hand from slipping forward during use. The addition of the built in magnet allows you to locate the stick to your convienence without fear of misplacing it, while also keeping the cutting table clutter free.
