20 Best Table Saw Fence Systems (2023 Updated)

I purchased this sled to accurately cut the tenons for the rails on a queen size bed headboard where the tenon shoulder to tenon shoulder distance is critical and repeatable. Like all Incra products, set-up and tweaking are key to performance.

I set up my sled on the right side of a right tilt Delta Unisaw so as to use the table extension for support. With this set-up I can only do vertical blade setups, but I have an Incra 3000se for other cutting needs.

Also, I used the cut-off from the stationary side and attached it to the end of the extension table, using double side template tape, for support. A few hours adjusting this sled or any miter gauge will pay returns for many years.

This is my third Incra product purchase and I highly recommend their products. Also, my tenons are spot on! I wish I had purchased this sled a long time ago. Rhon.

So glad i found this item. When i bought my bandsaw, was so disappointed it did not come with one. It works great! Would have given 5 stars but a bit flimsy, requiring you to use a square everytime you move it as it is not solid enough to maintain square once you tighten lever.

Not a deal breaker, still love it. Still highly recommend.

good quality good price. A very handy tool to have if your a project type person. Easy setup time does not take up a lot of room if you have a small shop, but can tackle a large job. I use this for metal mostly, aluminum, steel, and Stainless Steel.

This tool has reduced for me the creative ways I would have to make my cuts. Why did I wait so long to buy a band saw for my projects.

A definite keeper! Once I ran through the alignment it worked perfectly. The directions were not very good — I looked online and found some great videos of how to do the alignment. There is a very slight bow on the left side of the cutting plate but it does not affect the cuts.

Cutting lines and curves is very easy.

I finally have a professional grade router table fences. The difference is remarkable. I’ve been use ing a bare bones fence for years. I just didn’t know how much difference there was between my old fence and the new aluminum fence.

Accuracy and consistency with every project. I’m sold.

Good quality doesn’t always equate to a better tool or product. It was missing screws and T-Nuts from the packaging which I see in other reviews as well, missing parts. other than that it’s a stable fence, my featherboards from my last fence won’t work with this fence so will have to get new ones or purchase the clear cut stock guides.

Haven’t had a chance to use the router fence yet but alter I install it I am very impressed how well it made. The only problem I had where the screws to mount the brackets to the router table was missing.

No big deal always have screws laying around the shop.

I’ve been looking for a good fence for my Grizzly since I bought it 18 years ago and finally have one. No it did not screw right on but if your handy with tools and can drill and tap two 1/4×20 holes you can use the KMD7200.

The holes below the table that hold the useless supplied fence are 11 1/2 inches apart and in the exact middle of the corner blocks. You can’t use them but knowing the sweet spot gives you a mounting places to drill and tap.

Measure exactly 18mm down from the table top and make a small center punch aligned with the under table mount holes for the original fence. It will take three drill bits, cutting oil and a steady hand.

Use a 3/32 or 7/64 bit for the beginning hole going all the way through. Then use a 5/32 bit and finally a 13/64 bit which is the correct size for the 1/4×20 tap I’m metal. Using a four cutting edge tap slowly Tap the hole.

You’ll only be able to turn the tap 1 1/2 turn and the back off a half turn. Remember, you’re tapping cast iron and if you don’t back the tap out 5 or 6 times the tap will jamb and it may break. Once the holes are tapped you’ll need to space the fence out with two washers.

You’ll also need two 1/4×20 hex bolts about 3/4 long. You’ll be glad you went through all the trouble, the KMS7200 is a great fence for the price. I’m already resawing some 1×2 1/2 cedar.

Product came in 3 days in perfect condition. You actually get 3 thumb screws and a 4th with a larger black knob to fit the thread on the base plate. All fit and work. Fence is strong. Time to rip. Will order from this company again if I need to.

I ended up having to order after I realized it didn’t come with the saw. My father in law (the primary saw user) was aghast that they’d actually leave this out of the box and nickle and dime you for it afterwards.

Especially since it’s pretty much essential to lining up cuts. That having been said, it works well and seems like a solidly build ad-on (Well, as as solid as a thin piece of metal can be). It’s recommended for all owners of compatible Milwaukee saws, but I’m deducting one star because you shouldn’t need to buy it separately.

This add-on is very helpful for accurate rip cuts. In a pinch, I was able to produce redwood two-by-fours from four-by-fours with a pass on each side of the board. Result: even, clean cuts.

First of all, ordering from Tools Plus was an excellent experience with great pricing and super-quick shipping. With that said: Hard to believe this costs as much as it does, but I’ve come to expect Made in USA to be expensive with costs cut in fit and finish.

This is a good fence, but there are some serious shortcomings. First of all, The steel mounting parts are unfinished, meaning that they will rust right away if not painted. Something that should have been done at the factory, but to cut cost they leave it up to you.

Second, spacers are used between the fence and the saddle. They appear to be aluminum, but the hole size is ridiculously large and they almost seem incorrect. However, if you don’t use them the fence will be too low.

I plan on replacing with my own later. Finally, the fine adjustment has a tremendous amount of backlash. It adjusts okay, but it feels so cheap. I also do machine work and will fix this, too, but for the money I shouldn’t have these sorts of complaints.

I’m sure this will be an accurate fence, but expected a little bit more.

Great upgrade to my craftsman 113. X saw. I like that it stays parallel to the saw every time, the micro adjust function, and it’s easy to set up the ruler to be accurate. The instructions were okay, not the best.

It took half a day to do the installation. I had to drill and tap holes in the round front rail to fit the saw properly. The rear rail sticks out back from the table further than the factory fence rail, so the original splitter that attached to the saw trunnion does not fit anymore.

I had to change to a new saw insert and the microjig splitter system, which added another $100 and more time to the upgrade. I’d give 4. 5 stars if i could.

First off. I give it 5 stars once it’s installed and operational. I took away stars because it was a nightmare to install. I installed mine on a Rigid 4520 table saw and the holes didn’t line up. This means you have to drill your own.

Not a big deal you say? HA. Rigid decided to give almost zero clearance for your nut and bolt from Vega. and it didn’t fit or work on the back rail (square not round). I also had to drill the holes on the front but it was much easier.

Since the thread is all metric on the rigid and imperial on the Vega, (and me with only a metric tap and die set) I wasn’t able to drill and tap the hole. After a couple attempts I finally got it working and got some bolts in that held.

Basically, I put the whole thing together and it took me the better part of a day to do it with all the set backs and nightmare scenarios. Installing the fence itself was easy. but here is a great question, why on earth don’t they drill a few holes under the fence for the optional back guide? and why on Earth when it’s installed.

does it hit the damn bolts they have for the extension table? anyways. it was a nightmare and Talked my cousin out of trying it himself because he’d loose his @#$% if he ran into the same nightmare I did with his Rigid table.

Once everything was set and aligned though. dang is it sweet!!!!.

I have an old Biesemeyer table saw fence that I bought in the late 1990’s. I compared this new fence to the old one and it is very close to identical. Both use baltic birch for the side panels, they are the same dimensions and the locking lever mechanism is the same, but the handle is different.

I like the new one and will use it on my second unisaw. I like the old one better but I don’t think the new one will work differently in any significant way. If you need a new fence for your table saw I think this product is a good value and worth buying.

It took two people to install the fence – but it was worth it. I installed this on an old Rockwell 34-350 12″ – 14″ Tilting Arbor Saw which was manufactured in 1957. This fence is a world of difference from the stock fence.

I did have to drill holes to mount but following the instructions and using the angle bracket as a guide I had no problems. Make sure you use a sharp bit designed to drill through metal – dont use a cheap nock off.

If you dont install the fence right your cuts wont be true (duh! – but I had to say it). I should have done this years ago.

nice and easy to use but the side laminate chips too easily. biesemeyer should use nylon or some other plastic instead at that price point.

I recently purchased the Wixey 700 digital readout for my Jet panel saw and Xacta Fence. First, a little background about my self. I worked in manufacturing and in the inspection/quality control industry for 40+ years.

I’m very familiar with tolerances in the tenths of a thousandth (. 0001”) and microns (. 001mm). These are tolerances that are sensitive to temperature let alone misalignment. So, first, the Wixey 700s least significant digit is.

005”. that is it’s best accuracy. Their resolution isn’t listed in their specs but should be 10X better than. 005 (. 0005)to be able to guarantee accuracy & repeatability to. 005”. Next, the speed that the reading head moves does effect accuracy.

Move it too fast and it looses counts and your reading will be off, so move it slowly. Installation is much more critical than Wixey’s instructions would lead you to believe. The track once installed, must be parallel to the line of travel of the fence or tangential error will result.

I squared the Wixey track using my square and feeler gages. Next, the supplied bracket that attaches to the fence, isn’t square or flat making the bracket to the fence and the magnetic display head out of parallel.

In my case, attaching the bracket to the pivot bolt on the fence lock, made for movement every time I unlock and lock the fence. Because the bracket isn’t square, the reading changes because the contact point changes.

I used the flat stock provided and attached it to the fence with screws. I like the magnet connection idea but magnets attract iron filings and if your shop is like mine, you will find filings stuck to your display head magnet and this will effect accuracy.

With the Wixey track parallel both horizontally and vertically with my Xacta fence rail, I made 6 5. 25” long pieces (measuring each with my digital calipers) out of MDF and used them like Jo-blocks since I don’t have real Jo-blocks.

I placed them end to end (31. 5”)and took a reading. To my pleasant surprise, got a reading +. 010”. that was better that I expected and some of that error could easily been sawdust. That’s about. 0003”.

inch So, in short installation and operation is critical if you want to get reliable / repeatable readings.

Very ‘toy’ like for supposed precision instrument. Worst part is that if you happen to damage any one item of the assembly, Wixey will do everything they can to prevent you from replacing the part – will not sell some parts! The greed shows immediately upon making a request to buy the part.

I wish I had known about this before wasting time and money on this Chinese junk.

First off, let me just say the saw is great. Probably better than great. It cuts well, the T-Glide fence is amazing, the dust collection is phenomenal and the safety features are top notch. I hope I never activate the brake.

I’ve cut hundreds of feet of boards on it and it never misses a beat. However I am a little disappointed in a few things. The first being it comes in a lot of pieces. I feel for the money spent for the saw, and the extra money spent on freight it could have come more complete.

For instance, the cast iron top should be one piece, not three. Maybe they could have e been machined as one piece and taken apart and labeled with dowels for faster assembly. I had to swap sides and spent way too much time getting them level.

Also little bits and pieces like the tool holder and doors could have been installed at the factory. The assembly guide and hardware packaging is great, I just feel it’s a bit too much assembly for the price point.

Lastly, and this is probably my biggest gripe: it’s short. Too short. At only 34” tall it’s over fours inches shorter than the saw I replaced and it’s annoying. I’m not exactly a giant either. I’m 6’ tall with shoes on and after a little while of using this saw my back starts to ache from being hunched over.

If you are over 6’ tall you should probably plan on building a platform for the saw to be on. On my old saw kickbacks would hit my belly, now they are going to hit me in a lower, much more painful spot.

So make sure you have your apron on.

bought the saw, used it for about 10 boards and didn’t touch it for a month or two due to travel plans. then I turn it on. the blade comes to a screeching halt and then won’t do anything. the problem is the thermal overload switch.

they sent me a replacement but this particular item is the only thing there isn’t a video for with instructions on how to replace it. setting aside the fact that the thermal switch stopped working when it was 20 degrees outside.

shouldn’t have this problem with a brand new saw at this price point.

Your hands are worth the cost of this saws safety feature alone, the average cost of going to the ER for lost finger would pay for this saw. That said this saw is a fantastic quality of engineering and build, when compared to every other brand its as good or better but with the unique safety feature.

Out of the box I had no issues, everything was well organized and labeled, the instructions were very clear with the necessary hardware labeled to easily follow every step. The cast iron tops were very flat, fence glides smoothly, and the extension table is easy to adjust for level surface.

I do highly recommend getting the Industrial Mobile Base that works for the PCS as it makes moving this saw around so easy.

I have been an hobbyists woodworker for about 15 years. When it was time to upgrade to a cabinet saw, I narrowed it down to Powermatic and Sawstop. My wife, an ER nurse, highly encouraged me to buy the Sawstop because of the technology.

I couldn’t be happier with the Sawstop. Dust collection is great. The fence guide system is accurate. Overall power is not a problem. I have cut oak, 2 inch ash, walnut, and hard maple with ease. This saw was accurate and ready to go right out of the box with very very little adjustments needed.

The price of this saw is nothing compared to an emergency room visit.

Sawstop engineers a great product and the perception is reinforced by the assembly experience. Everything fits perfectly and as you’ll read in countless other places the instructions are the easiest to follow in existence.

It all goes together right the first time. It’s clear that they have incorporated user feedback into the instructions by how they give you an extra tip here or there exactly when you need it.

This is a great saw which is made even better by the extra safety feature. Right out of the box the cast iron top is perfectly flat and smooth. I did not detect any run-out on the arbor and the miter slots are parallel to blade at all angles.

Plenty of power even though it’s “only” 1-3/4 horsepower – this is about the most power you can get out of a 110V motor. Cuts through 12/4 poplar like butter. Handled 8/4 cherry without a problem. The fence is excellent and easy to use.

It is also a relatively quiet saw, especially compared to a jobsite or contractor table saw. The height and angle wheels are exceptionally smooth and just an absolute pleasure to use. Dust collection is good and easy to change guard and riving knife.

There are less expensive options out there – good saws – but this is a beautiful saw made perfect by the extra safety. Well worth the extra money. Makes me want to build more furniture, just to use the saw!.

I have the Delta Unisaw setup as the centerpiece of my backyard woodworking shop. I haven’t used the saw much yet since I just got it. Setup was straightforward and easy. The saw is heavy and heavy duty.

The 5 HP motor starts quickly to full RPM. The power of the motor compared to my old Sears contractor saw is amazing. Very high quality solidly built product. The side feed table works great and was easy to install.

The fence is easy to calibrate and setup as well. No real downsides to this purchase so far. I routed out the side feed table to insert a undermount router-lift that shares the biesmeyer fence. I augment that with a router fence that clamps to the beismeyer.

GREAT UNIT ALL THE WAY AROUND.

I recently purchase the Delta 36-L552 saw from acme tools. I was very impressed with the quality of the product and the efforts put into the packaging. The saw runs without a flaw and will be the center of my cabinet shop for years to come.

I cannot say enough good things about this saw. I have used several unisaws in the past and have always been impressed with the quality but now that it has been redesigned with all these great features you just can’t beat this saw.

if you are on the fence about this decision to buy it or not. just buy it you will NOT be sorry. It is the crown jewel in my woodshop. I use it to build furniture and cabinetry and small to large projects.

The precision of this saw is incredible.

I hesitated for so long to buy this because of everyone talking about how you can’t rip boards or being worried about the fence getting in the way when you are ripping. I should have bought this a long time ago! The fence comes off or on in about fifteen seconds so it was a complete non-issue.

The one I ordered came with the positive stops and didn’t need adjusted. ALSO! I have a powermatic PM1000 and it was easy to adapt to fit it. Just mark four the holes carefully (make sure the cast iron is flat behind where you drill).

Get a slightly oversized metal bit to allow for some play and drill away. I used a lot of oil as I drilled and it only took about twenty minutes even with marking carefully. Very heavy and smooth. Beautiful tool.

I’ve had an Excalibur slider for the past 20 years and this is hands down, a much better slider. It’s is very beefy, the rail that attaches to the saw is a full 5/16″ thick. The shipping weight is 85 lbs, to give you an idea.

Once you get it setup, it slides very smooth and precise. The fence rail is beautiful and stout in appearance. However, the stops come from the factory poorly adjusted. There is a simple fix that is not included in the brief instructions.

It is well documented on Sawmill Creek forum by a very intelligent guy (wink, wink). Once they are tuned up it works like a dream. No longer will you have to measure your work piece, draw a cut line on it and line it up with the stopped blade.

The stops ride on a track with a magnified needle bubble much like that on a good rip fence. It is very easy to calibrate. And just like you would on a good rip fence, slide the stop until the needle wrests on the measurement you need, lock the stop and make your cut.

Try doing that on an Excalibur! For a smaller footprint, I chose to mount the rail so it is flush with the front of the table saw. The directions describe how to measure and drill holes for this alternate mounting option.

They say you will also have to drill and tap new holes on the underside to mount the switch box in an alternate location. However, when I went to drill these holes, they had already been done at the factory, and the alternate set of mounting holes for the switch had also been made and tapped.

They haven’t updated their instructions yet. Mine arrived from CPO Tools with the box a bit damaged. This slider is currently on a national back order and I believe mine was the last one available anywhere in the country.

It appeared to be an open box shipped. There is a good size scratch on the table’s surface. However, I called CPO and they were very accommodating and offered to pay for return shipping and give me a full refund.

However since the item is scarcely available, I decided to keep it. But my hats off to CPO for another great customer service experience. I highly recommend both this sliding table and CPO Tools.

Love to use this accessory when cutting any large sock such as plywood. I have only one issue with the miter gauge when crosscutting a full 4′ by 8′ sheet on plywood to lessor extent with smaller crosscuts.

Unlike the miter gauge provided with the basic saw the miter gauge with the sliding table does not provide indexed stops at 0 and =/-45 degrees. This means you must check the adjustment every time you make a change! It also means that when cutting a full sheet is cut, the weight might cause some slippage within the miter gauge resulting in making the cut with an incorrect angle.

Believe that this is a serious deficiency in an otherwise great addition to the saw. Rockler says you can crosscut a full sheet (48″) but Saw Stop instructions says the max crosscut is 60″. The other caution I would add if you crosscut a full sheet then move the Pivot Handle out as far as possible on the extension table.

Really disappointed. No ability to quickly square. Must shimmy back and forth either side with an adjustable square. The vac. port sucks completely. Constantly falls out with weight of the vac. hose.

If I had to do it over I would have made my own table or bought another brand. You might be better off with a 2×4 board and clamps vs. this highly overpriced fence.

I researched every fence on the market and decided the Kreg fence has the most features for the price. I wanted a good quality fence that included micro-adjustments. I selected this one to go with the new Kreg router table and there are no problems with the fence and table combination, both work great together.

The quality is top notch and ordering, and shipping was easy and fast. Thanks to Kreg again!.

Excellent set. Love the fence and the lift. Two little suggestions though; the instructions on installing the router into the lift could be a bit more in-depth. And it would be great if the table came equipped with the feather boards.

Then, I would love it more. Great products.

I ordered this along with the ICS stand with conversion kit. This saw was missing the leg support brackets and the ICS stand came with a bad jack. Total order was nearly $5000 and I’ve had to order over $100 in parts to get it to work.

I’ve had the saw for nearly a month and haven’t been able to make a cut yet because of missing or defective parts. Apparently sawstop has let go of the quality control department.

I have been trying to find a fence that fits my Skil Ledgen Circular Saw Model 5155. I even contacted the company but was told none were available for my model. This fence fits it as if it were made for it and what is a super big plus is that the fence slide that slides along the wood is bigger than other fences I have owned in the past.

Anybody that owns the older Model 5155 and need or want a rip fence, This item is what you want. I ordered it not knowing if it would fit, But it fits as if made for my saw. I can not be happier with this rip fence.

This is misrepresented in the description. It is NOT a table saw rip fence. It is a circular saw guide. It may be good for ripping long boards with a circular saw but is completely useless as a table saw fence.

I have not used it and may never use it as this is not what I needed, which was a replacement fence for my table saw.

This is the right item IF you have a Skil saw. If you have a SKILSAW, then it is not the right one. Note the distinction in the writing of the two. All pro saw models are designated SKILSAW. Non pro units are described as Skil.

All the rip fence kits are different for Milwaukee saws , lve sent two back to other company’s that stated they would work with my 61/2 saw
