20 Best Table For Small Dining Room (2023 Updated)

We were looking for a replacement for our mahogany breakfast table. I wanted something white with interesting lines and sturdy. This table is off-white, which I knew from reviews, but it is so close to white it still works well with my white cabinets and gray chairs.

I really like it! Assembly was easy but I would suggest adding a little wood glue and having a socket wrench. That little wrench they supplied does not adequately tighten the nuts. Additionally, because some reviews mentioned the top scratching, I put a glass table top on it.

We already owned one and figured better safe than sorry.

I’m surprised at how nice this table is. It is heavy and sturdy. The instructions were easy to follow however it did take myself (alone) a little over 2 hours to assemble. The legs are not solid – they are hollow and you have to build each one.

I may seal it so that it doesn’t get damaged, but for $230 this was a steal. Happy I bought it.

Excellent, sturdy, had no trouble assembling it. My issue is the color. The various pictures show different colors of wood, and I expected a brown table, either a kind of butcher block lighter brown or a nice darker brown.

The one we got is grey. Driftwood grey. Doesn’t go at all in my kitchen. Disappointed.

Wanted a cute brown table for my kitchen to go with a set of Parsons chair I bought on an online deal website. Picked this one for the color and it was a very nice middle brown. Goes perfect with my chair.

This table is so easy to assemble. Place the top on the cardboard on the floor, align the folding legs on the 4 screw holes. It took literally 5 minutes to assemble it. Great table at an affordable price for my breakfast nook.

The table is advertised as 2 day shipping but it took more than a week to get here. Fedex had it for 4 days in the same place without movement. When it arrived, it was very beaten up with tape to solve the rips, a label that said damaged barcode, and two big footprints on top of it.

We were very surprised that the table actually didn’t suffer more damage apart from two slightly cracked corners and a scratch on the side. It’s packaged very well but maybe it needs more if fedex is going to keep beating it up.

The instructions for the table were very easy to follow. The table is elegant and sturdy. Heavy also. We really love it and don’t mind the slight damage but do be prepare if you order it.

Very good product for the value. The wood is smooth and a beautiful color. It is a perfect fit for my small unit. Looks exactly as described. Ebay came through. Thanks Ebay.

I got the set a couple months ago. I love it! I get a lot of compliments on it. I do wish it was just a few inches wider, it’s tight to get 4 people with dinner plates in it. But, I still love it. no regrets!.

I’m happy with the table. Looks real cute, but my handyman had a problem putting it together. Two of the feet did not have any pre drilled holes for the tabs to be screwed into them. I was upset because then the table would scratch my floors with out them screwed in.

Luckily my handyman put stickers on the feet for me, but I really wanted the screws because they would look much nicer. I’m waiting to see if Houzz will compensate me for this.

I am retired and went from a 2800 square foot home to a 1000 square foot condo. I started new on everything , area rugs , art work furniture etc. I needed a small table for the open space kitchen/living and dining room all in one.

I debated back and forth on this table since the price was so low I thought maybe it would not have the quality of the bigger known decorating stores. My adult children put this together in less than an hour , if you are elderly get someone else to do this for you to make life easier.

Wow , was I surprised how beautiful it was. Perfect size for smaller apartment , I put it with two beautiful parsons chair and it seats two very comfortable. On top I have 2 faux books with green bird bookends.

My friends saw it for the first time and said, “Wow, this is so pretty I want one” lol. So, I absolutely would recommend this to other shoppers !.

This is a very nice sturdy table. If you like the rustic look you will like this table. I probably would have given the table 5-stars but the table comes in 2 boxes and I received 1 and then received the second box 2 day later.

Also the assembly instructions were missing from the box. But I did call Hayneedle received a copy of the assembly instructions and I have a new dining room table. Oh and instead of the chairs in the pix I chose some black leather half back stools which are so striking.

Good quality. Arrived with a small amount of damage to the edge. Larger than it appears in the photos I’ve posted. Perfect amount of distress to add for a modern causal look. I ordered different black chairs to go with the table than the ones that are shown in the manufacture picture.

Table is solid but moves a little when you put your elbows on it.

Took a while to receive it. The shipping carton that it came in was sturdy. It does come with all the hardware and tools to put it together. As for the table, the paint isn’t great, has big black circles.

Not sure worth the money, with these circles. Trying to figure out how to hide them or return the table.

Great quality table – solid wood and nice finish. Design is clever and stylish, and great for small spaces. Works well with one leaf down behind a sofa and pulls out easily when needed as a table. Finding stools that fit completely underneath is a little challenging as the width is 30″ between the legs.

Arrived right on time! Went to store to pick it up and they were nice enough to have someone help us take it to the truck – The guy even picked the box up by himself(!) and put it in the truck bed!! Score extra points for that! It was a reasonably heavy box.

The packing was out of this world – My compliments to the manufacturer. Every piece was there; no nicks or scraps or anything out of order. A great amount of care was evident in the way it was packed.

The finish on this table is beyond rich. LOVE the drop leaf too. It’s fantastic. It’s a very beautiful table. I bought it to put in my studio for extra space to display finished work. I can’t say enough good things about this table.

It was out of stock for awhile and I waited it out because I wanted to be able to order it from Walmart so I could pick it up myself, rather than have it delivered to my home. AND I wanted the best price! This is my 2nd big item ordered through Walmart and I’ve not been disappointed yet!.

The table is beautiful and just as sturdy as the reviews say. The only problem is it 4 hours to build because we had to figure out we had to drill holes ourself. Be prepared to have to pilot hole the table top and leg beams.

If you have that tool available it should go quicker. But strong beautiful table. ✨✨.

I love the quality of this table for the price. It’s so sturdy and looks great. The only issue I’d say is the stain color is much darker in some spots than others but not a huge deal

We love our dining room table. We have an industrial style modern home with concrete walls. Adding cabinets and storage is so hard so we have to have stylish and functional pieces. The heavy build and rustic vibes if this piece easily stands up to our home while providing much needed space shd style.

Great table! Came quickly. Was easy to put together. There was one small dent on the base and a tiny scratch on the tabletop but not worth the hassle to return. Happy with my purchase.

It was a long long hunt for a dining table that was sturdy and quality product. We were a bit nervous about purchasing a big piece of furniture online but after looking and visiting so many other furniture stores we got the feel and we decided to try.

Especially because the review was so good and consistent. We love it. Husband loves it, kids love it, the house looks more stable, complete…if that makes sense…we love it. The delivery crew were so relatable and friendly.

Updated review: customer service sent me a new table (free of charge) and I have not had any issues with the new one at all. Old review: Large crack in table. My Madera table started to crack after less than a month and very minimal use.

I reached out to customer service and they told me this is entirely normal for the table to crack. I spent a lot of time researching what I thought would be a table to last me for decades. If this is the condition it is in after 1 month I cannot imagine what it might look like after a year.

I am so disappointed in not only the poor quality of this table but also in the lack of support from the customer service.

This table is so beautiful! I was replacing an older round table and was a bit concerned about this taking up too much space. It is perfect and such high quality. It looks perfect in my space. Looking forward to making many memories around this beautiful table with family.

I live in a small apartment, and like many small apartments, this one doesn’t have a separate dining area. I have a tiny corner of the living room with which to place a dining table – so I really needed one that was nice and compact.

However, I also wanted one that was big enough to serve as extra table space for when I’m working on prepping a larger meal (because, yes, the kitchen is tiny, too). This was a bit of dilemma before I struck on the idea of getting a table with drop leaves.

Unfortunately, it seems that smaller tables with drop leaves are somewhat hard to find, but after much searching, I came across this table, the “Winsome Wood Hamilton Double Drop Leaf Dining Table. ” The first thing I love about it is its smaller footprint – it measures just 30″ by 26″ across with the leaves down, and 30″ by 42″ across with the leaves fully extended (do keep in mind, though, if you happen to be trying to jam this into some tiny niche, that when the leaves are down they still take up some space while hanging, so the table is more like 30″ by 28″ wide).

Also, I like the tiny drawer. It’s not really big enough to hold much, but I appreciate the effort at putting in a bit of storage. Plus, it kinda makes the desk look almost like a writing desk, so I could see this table serving multiple functions, making it a nice multi-purpose piece.

Speaking of versatility, I also like how the table keeps to a simple, classic style without being too boring (the tapered legs give it some visual interest), to where it could look equally well with a contemporary decorating scheme or a more traditional one.

In terms of quality, I should mention that the leaves are sturdy and stable (very much so) when extended. What’s also awesome is the fact that the table is made out of actual solid wood (with the exception of the interior of the drawer, which I’m pretty sure is made of some sort of composite.

Color-wise, it’s pretty spot-on to the online picture, and I’d describe it as a walnut color (just like the listing does). The finish is also pretty good, at least on the top and legs. The underside of the table isn’t very well-sanded (feels rough), and I can tell that they put a thinner coat of varnish on it.

So, that’s clearly where they cheaped out. Still, for a table that’s made of real wood for this price point, I’m not going to complain. Overall I’d have to say this table is a fantastic value for what you’re getting.

It’s solid wood, has a reasonably decent finish, is sturdy, and is attractive, all for the price of $120 (as of the time of writing this review). You really can’t beat that, and if you are desperately searching for a tiny dining table for a small space that still looks nice, then this really is a great choice.

Looking very good, set up is very easy and simple. My wife and I are love it. When the box arrived, we thought set up will be very hard. Both of us were wrong. The table made of wood, standing up firmly, does not move at all.

Nicely polished wood. All you have do put eight screws in right position and you done. Screws and screws driver included. It has nice fancy drawer, easily you can put stuff there. Excellent retail and save packaging.

I have a small kitchen and I calculated that 45 inches was the longest table that would fit my available space. I needed the light natural wood and the white colors too, so this table was perfect for my needs.

I used the walmart free shipping option, and exactly two and one half days later, the box arrived via UPS on my front porch. It was HEAVY (66 pounds!), and thankfully there was a strap around the box so that I was able to grab onto and drag it into my living room.

I removed the top of the box, removed the legs (2 smaller boxes) turned it on its side with the tabletop still in the bottom box. I was able to carefully carry the tabletop into my kitchen sideways. I laid it with the table-top downward, and proceeded to install the legs.

The legs were beautifully finished white with no scratches or marks. the screw ends fit perfectly in the holes they had drilled in the corners of the tabletop. From there it simply involved placing 8 sets of washer, spring washer, and bolt and tightening the bolts down.

Easy as pie, really. Then I removed one side of the box bottom, and with a little work was able to get the table onto it’s side and then lifted it into upright position. I’m 66 years old and I’m sure glad it didn’t weigh any more than it did, it was a struggle for an old woman like me! The table top has no scratches, no broken tiles, all grout intact.

Ordered this table based on the other positive reviews of this product. Unfortunately I was extremely disappointed with what I received. Table had a large crack in the wood all along one side. Packaged everything up and lugged it to the post office to return and requested a replacement.

Replacement table arrived promptly a few days later but unfortunately this second table was in even worse condition than the original. In addition to cracks in the wood the tiles were broken and were no longer attached to the frame.

Going through the hassle of sending back a second time. This time I am requesting a refund. no more furniture purchases from Walmart for me.

This table had some caulking done around the tile to keep it in the wooden frame. It was half coming out all around it and it even slipped out when tipping the table to put the legs on. This could have caused all the tile to break or the assembler to be injured.

The notes that came with it said you can contact your local Walmart for help. I called several and no-one carries this furniture so they can’t help us. I was told to pack it up and send it back for a replacement.

This would not be a an option for us. We paid for expedited service because my 93 year old mother needed it immediately and I had to go back home to another state where I live. Instead, we will have to pay for someone to caulk it for her.

It is hard to believe someone let it out of the warehouse looking this bad. I have pictures if anyone wants to see it. I would like Walmart to send me a $25. 00 check to cover the cost of maintenance service in my mother’s living facility.

That would make me feel better. I could even turn in a receipt for the work done. How can this be accomplished? I have pictures if that would help. I would never recommend Walmart again based on the product and service so far.

Let’s see if you can turn that around by responding to my concerns.
