20 Best Swing For Colic Baby (2023 Updated)

I was given this swing to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and was pleasantly surprised that my 10mo daughter actually loves it. She is very opinionated, willful, and always on the move and she outgrew her other infant swings, seats, etc a while back.

When I put her in this swing she calms down even when she is in the middle of a meltdown where before the only thing that would make her happy would be me walking around with her in my arms. I try to workout a couple mornings a week and before this swing she would start getting in my way and fussing for the last 15 minutes or so making it pretty much impossible to finish.

Since being given this swing, I put her in it once she starts getting impatient and she is happy for the rest of the time. I have experimented with the different patterns and some work for her and others don’t.

Having the vast control over both pattern and speed is super helpful since she is so picky and she needs certain ones to stay happy. I am also impressed with the music as I am very tired of the same old songs that are in almost all toys and that are constantly stuck in my head, This swing has songs that are either completely different or have enough of a twist to them that they don’t get stuck in my head.

It is also very obvious that this swing was designed down to the detail to be as easy for parents to use as possible. Putting it together was a piece of cake (the pictures were a little hard to understand, but everything was intuitive so it didn’t matter).

The top smoothly disconnects and converts into a rocker (unfortunately my little girl is too big for me to be able to use that function. ) If it is too close to a wall it will alert you. The seat is easy to remove and throw in the wash but is still super soft and comfy.

Do be aware that this will take up a decent amount of space and the swing base does plug in the wall instead of running off batteries so if you have a crawler like me you will have to find a place for it that they can’t get to the cord.

While I would not say that this swing is worth it for an already older baby like my 10m daughter I would say it is more than worth it for a smaller baby knowing that it will continue to be useful for many months.

I just wish I had it when she was smaller because I think it would have been an absolute life saver in being able to get things done while she was happily swinging along.

I registered for this at received the first one from my Target registry. I wanted on that had the chair that came off to save space in our smallish house. I got it put together just fine. Once I started using it the battery wouldn’t stay tight in the casing so I was constantly trying to tap the casing to wiggle the battery back into the EXACT right spot or it wouldn’t work.

Once I started to try the swing I couldn’t get the blue light to stop flashing which indicates that there is something in the way and it won’t swing; except I had nothing in the way. I tried both ways on the swing base.

I called Graco and had to send them video of the swing not working, the model/serial info, and a picture of my registry showing when it was purchased from my registry; they sent me a new swing and seat and have to send the original back to them (I’m sure it’s going to be really fun to try to get it taken apart and fit back into the box that the replacement one came in ha!).

The replacement came yesterday and I got it put together. The battery casing is still EXTREMELY picky on exactly where the battery touches and the battery isn’t tight in the casing so it too slips out of place on this one too.

My husband got it rigged up so it stays where it needs to (for now at least) – sometimes it just starts making a clunking noise (my son is 6 weeks old so he’s really not doing anything but sitting in it so it’s nothing that he’s doing).

The replacement swing appears to be working so far. There are many options for swing/removable chair combos out there so don’t go with this one. I highly doubt I just happened to get the only two bad ones they had.

I have no idea how this got so many good reviews.

Our home is small, and having convertible products is something we will pay a premium for. We already own a more expensive swing, but there are a few things that make this a better option for our family: 1) Being able to remove the bouncer seat and carry it to our porch without the need for an electrical socket.

I didn’t anticipate how much we would be doing this in the fall, and having this built into one product saves so much space in our home. 2) The straps come off with the seat fabric and can be cleaned in the event of a poop-splosion – this WILL happen to you at least once in any rocker (and for us, once a week! so frustrating with the “roo” product) Other notable items: The swing movement direction can be changed – manually, but pretty quickly nonetheless.

The sound machine is a nice feature assuming you don’t already have other standalone options in your home – the sound quality isn’t as good, but again the portability of the built in is very nice. Unfortunately my LO has never been super interested in the toy bar on any product, but the toys on this are at least attractive, and also removable.

Finally – let’s talk about the age and weight limit. Although technically suitable for 25 lbs and 12 months, my 8 month old baby is no longer interested in sitting in this – or any other reclining baby device – a new development upon independently sitting and learning to crawl.

Overall- I wish I had purchased the soothe and sway on day 1 INSTEAD of the more expensive brand swing, as the space saving and cleaning functionality is so helpful. For our family, it would have been incredible for 7 months.

This swing was very easy to put together as all I had to do pull out the seat n base and attach the hanging toys. There are 3 hanging toys for your little one to enjoy. The seat cover is nice and soft and I like that it is washable! The base is made of aluminum which makes it strong yet lightweight.

Perfect for travel. The harness is well designed for safety and is a 5 point harness. I like you can either plug it in without worrying about batteries wearing out but there’s the option of using 4 AAA batteries which is great when traveling.

This allows the swing to be mobile and used in areas one would normally not be able to use it , such as a picnic area, rest stop, or camp ground. I like that the swing has 5 speeds though it’s hard to differentiate between them and the fastest speed isn’t much different from the first speed.

That is my only criticism of this swing. I like that this has a Bluetooth feature , which easily sync’d with my iPhone so I could play my own playlist of music and lullabies. The remote is an added feature which came with the battery included.

The color scheme being grey is very gender neutral which makes this a perfect baby shower gift. The real test came when I put my granddaughter Ella who is 3 months old and 11 lbs (she was born a premie) into the swing.

I got this for her because she and my daughter live with my husband and I and I figured as much colic she has this might help. It’s been 3 days and this has helped her rest pleasantly and it’s a great swing for both home and while we travel.

I’d definitely recommend this swing for both safety, portability, design, and features. Oh the only thing not included are the 4 AAA batteries for making this portable which can be purchased anywhere inexpensively.

This Nova JooL baby swing is top of the line. Everything has been thought of. I love the super comfy and soft material the baby lays on. I also love the sun shade and bug netting cover so baby can be with us outside.

It was extremely easy to set up and the sun cover can easily be added or removed. The bug netting just zips on and off. The touch panel is easy to use. I can even just tap it softly with my toe and it registers.

It is so nice to be able to connect with our baby’s favorite songs and sounds via Bluetooth. The lock mechanism so the swing doesn’t move when transferring baby in and out is easy to push up and down but has enough resistance that I don’t worry it will pop up on its own.

The little hanging toys are kind of big and cumbersome. They just get in the way for us so I have left them off. My 5-month old loves it still. Wish I had this when she was tiny because it would have been used outside constantly in the summer months!! Really the only thing that I could throw out there that could be improved is I wish there was a way to toggle through the baby songs that are programmed and be able to choose one to just repeat or, better yet, that there was a setting for white noise.

We have mostly used the Bluetooth, but I did let it run through all the songs for curiosity sake. Most of the beginning songs are pretty and calming to listen to, but there are a couple especially at the end that are just fun songs (baby shark, jingle bells) and not really very calming.

It does repeat itself after the 12 songs have finished, so it doesn’t just stop at least. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product! We love it and wouldn’t buy any other swing now that we realize how wonderful this one is!.

I absolutely loved this rocker! It was one of mine and my daughters favorite items in the early months. I used to remove it from the base and put it next to me on the bed while I breast pumped. I would also slide it over next to me on the couch while I pumped.

We lived in a studio and I found this soother/rocker to be so versatile. I was really sad once she started learning to turn in it and it was no longer safe for her to be in it! Parting with her swing was bitter sweet.

I recommend this swing to anyone who asks and will definitely purchase a similar rocker/soother if we ever decide to have another.

This is the most amazing swing I have ever experienced. I learned the tail end of 2020 that I was going to be a grandmother and we had 3 months to get ready! Needless to say I was less than pleased BUT I am a supportive mother and my momma bear mode kicked in.

This was one of my 1st purchases and as I have never spent more on a swing before and I’ve had 4 children of my own, I justified the price as this was a 2 in 1. But wow wow wow. This is the softest, comfortable looking, just plush baby seat which detaches from the swing base so easily.

It vibrates both on and off the base, and the swing adjustments are just stellar, it moves in anyway possible! Up, down, forwards, backwards, sideways, figure 8! It’s crazy. I’m 37 and I was a young mother and this would have been a game changer for me.

The only thing negative is that I cannot fit in it! So nice. It’s also very neutral so either style could be gender neutral and fit in with any decor. Highly recommend!.

My baby LOVED this when he was an infant! He would fall asleep in it all the time. I’ve never used a mamaRoo, but I’ve been told this is very similar. We never detached the removable rocker, so I can’t comment on that.

But the chair moves in so many different ways, plays music or sounds, and is overall very soothing for a baby. I liked that we could also adjust the speed of the chair too. This was a life saver.

My baby did not like this swing very much, but I still think it’s a good product. We plan to store it hoping next baby will like it. We purchased it because we love the compact size and simple operation.

And we liked that it was a simple back and forth rock like when we rock baby in the rocking chair. A cool feature of this that we didn’t know until we looked it up is the swing will turn off if baby is too high or slips down too low in the seat.

I like that safety feature. The speed knob illuminates with a pretty blue light and is simple to operate. I highly recommend for anyone that wants a smaller swing but still wants a quality item. And did I mention how easy it is to clean!!.

Got this as a gift for my first and used it with my 2nd too. Had to figure out how to keep the babies weight distributed *just* right so it wouldn’t auto-shutoff. The blue LED light for the knob is so bright we have to cover it with a blanket.

Rocking speed does not match up to the knob settings – it barely changes between low to high. And the thing is SO LOUD. Thankfully my babies can sleep despite the creaking/cracking plastic noises. But it doesn’t make for a peaceful moment when an exhausted momma/daddy needs some quiet.

I had purchased this Munchkin swing from my colleague’s baby registry, as a gift from the team. My colleague received a completely random high chair instead, but it had the label and order number indicating this swing.

Being 8 months into pregnancy, she had to send her husband and pick up the correct item from the store. My colleague is happy to receive the correct item, but this is not at all how a gift should be received!.

That my total cost was 197.00 on sale Amazon sells for 119.00

My question is that how long baby can use it from new born.

I received the rockaroo as a gift. Such a thoughtful gift considering the price, and my baby loves the swing which is the reason why I still use it. Other than that for the price, the quality isn’t the best.

The swing makes noise when it’s in motion. When my baby is in the swing a lot of the time the swing will stop on it’s own causing the baby to begin to fuss. The speed settings don’t match the actual speed.

In addition, the mobile toy bar isn’t so mobile you have to manually play with the little plush toys in order for the baby to notice. Buy at your own risk.

I bought this for my daughter and was also given a “regular swing” she seems to be more entertained in the “regular one” than the 4moms rockaroo, since the day I bought it. It does not go faster than the 1st level, we thought maybe it was because she was so little now she’s almost 5 months and still super slow.

It also has a loud clicking noise and no matter how many times I try to fix it it doesn’t seem to go away or get better. Also the toys at the time don’t move or dangle so they’re not fun to look at.

Ok folks!. So based on all the problems listed in multiple reviews. i was SUPER skeptical about purchasing this swing. So skeptical in fact. that i decided NOT to get it, but then a family member got it for us.

So here’s the lowdown so far:-Shipped on time. -No missing pieces, and all the pieces are in good shape. -Super easy to put together. im a 5ft tall woman and i did it myself with children in tow in under 15min.

Instructions were common sense easy to follow. -It’s not a compact swing, but im actually surprised how well it fits in our small apartment. It’s an airy design, so doesn’t really disrupt our open floor plan.

-The patterned part is that soft plastic-type fabric, easy for cleaning spit-up off of. I am a little disappointed with the other fabric. It looks minky, but the feel is actually more like a rough felt sort of.

But does feel like it’s made to last at least. -The little bears are cute and i was surprised that he immediately fixated on them and seemed to like them. -He’s been in there for mere minutes and is already asleep.

i can’t even believe it. I’m just sitting here watching him in awe that he’s sleeping without an hour and a half of me having to walk him around. breaking my back. -It does sway ever so slightly when it’s on the max speed, but it’s a safe, reasonable and minimal amount imho.

-It’s not silent. it does make a side to side noise like all swings do, but again, I find it to be a normal amount. isn’t waking baby up, and i think we’d sleep through it fine, as it’s steady white noise.

-There were complaints that’s the seat tilts to the side, ours doesn’t. -There were complaints that the legs don’t sit flush, ours do. -There were complaints that the seat is too shallow. i find it to be an appropriate standard shaped seat.

My 5 week old fits fine and seems will grow into the seat well enough. -So far it doesn’t make that horrid creaking noise I’ve heard in videos. but that seems to start afterwards, so I’ll update this post if it starts.

-I’ll also update if the motor slows or dies like others have said has happened. So!. as of right now, it’s looking good, and hoping it stays that way!UPDATE: Baby is now 10 weeks and has gotten big and heavy.

We’ve had to upgrade our go-to speed from 4, to now a 5. So the people with BIG babies who say the machine barely swings. I TOTALLY believe them. I’m guessing we’ll be maxing out the speed soon ourselves.

The machine makes the occasional clicking now, not super often, and I think I know why. One day the machine was swinging and baby was in it, and my daughter leaned on the swing (which was stopping it from moving, while the motor was still running) to put the baby’s sock back on.

THAT’S when the slight clicking started. Couple weeks after that. my daughter got a basket ball stuck under the swing while it was moving. and the clicking got slightly worse. I constantly have to remind my husband to TURN OFF the swing first.

because he makes the swing stop when he deals with the baby, and I cant imagine thats good for the motor. The sound is getting worse each time something like that happens. So im willing to bet that a lot of the people who say they get really bad clicking after a certain amount of time.

might be harming the swing in this same way. Has the swing been worth it? YESSSSSSSSS. Omg. It has SAVED us on some really bad days. So worth it. UPDATE: Baby will be 12 months old in a couple weeks.

It’s finally happened. the swing is making that loud, continuous creaking noise. Loud enough to wake baby up if there’s no music or white noise to drown it out. Such a big heavy baby now though, it’s no surprise that the swing finally can’t quite keep up.

The heavier he gets, the more wobble is in the motion of the swing. But overall, we’re not only happy with how the swing has helped us. I wish I would have bought a second one for Grammy’s house. After all the stress of deciding whether to buy this thing in the beginning.

turns out it was the #1 best thing we got and the one thing we couldn’t live without. With my injuries. I don’t think I would have made it without this swing for baby.

Congratulations Graco, this might be the worst purchase of my life. From VERY early on, the mechanisms for opening and closing did not work properly. On the sides, there are pieces that are supposed to move up when you squeeze the handle but they wouldn’t, so it takes 3 hands to try and move those malfunctioning pieces while squeezing the handle.

Then recently, something internal with the handle stopped working and without exaggerating at all, it would take me about 15 minutes to open or close the stroller, which is annoying in itself but also dangerous when I’m a single woman alone in a parking lot at night.

Today I had to leave the stroller in a parking lot because once again, it WOULD NOT close back up and there’s no way to fit it in my car if it doesn’t fold. For reference, this stroller was very lightly used.

I had it about 7 months and at a MAX used it maybe once per week. I’m sure the positive reviews are from people who just received theirs. Yes I would have rated it highly too for its convenience until I had it like a month and it started spontaneously malfunctioning after never being handled roughly whatsoever.

Absolute garbage waste of money. I’ll be sure to tell everyone I know to stay away from this product.

The swing is easy to assemble with clear instructions on how to put it together. The cover zips off which makes it really easy to clean if you have any accidents or spillages. The pattern is a very cute design with two very cute little characters hanging down.

There is a strap at the bottom of the frame and the swing which clips together to hold seat in place if you don’t want it swinging. It has 6 different speed settings which were very easy to use. My baby seemed to like the middle speed setting the best.

I liked that I could change the volume of the music for when baby is awake and then when they fall asleep in the chair so they can sleep without loud music waking them up. Vibrate button which is also easy to use.

The swing is simple to fold down for either storage or when taking it down to my mother in laws. I have really enjoyed using this swing and would recommend it to anyone looking for a a swing they can take along with them or store when not in use.

Cute, Perfect portable swing. Quality is good. I love that I can easily move from room to room with 1 hand. It’s light. Swing can go pretty fast, which I like; and the music is soothing to my little one.

I haven’t used it long enough to replace batteries yet. Hoping it lasts a while. I would definitely recommend.

PROS: multiple swing speeds, changeable via knock on side. Easy to assemble. Music on 2 volumes. i feel like the recline is at a safe level. Comes with removable head support. Buckle is easy to adjust.

Has a timer you can set or just manually turn on off. it’s whisper quiet. CONS: The mobile that attaches pops off constantly and falls on baby’s head when the swing is in motion. i wound up removing it because it will NOT stay attached.

Runs only on batteries, no plug in. A little finicky to fully collapse for storage.

I give this swing only one star mainly because of the poor design of the seat. When my baby is in it head head is bent touching her chest. Yes the seat is deep but the way it’s just the fabric stretched over the metal frame it doesn’t cradle the baby’s head safely.

Also there is no lock on the seat when in use. My two pushed on the seat and it started folding up. The whole swing frame is quite wobbly as well. I’m really shocked there were do many positive reviews for this Ingenuity swing.

As for me I have tried different positions and different infant supports and I have not been happy with how bowed my baby’s head is. I am returning this swing.

While there is room for some improvement, this item does exactly what I was looking for it to do, without too many bells & whistles and therefore priced accordingly. -The swing settings are really fast, so we only use the first setting which is faster than I would swing my son in my own two arms.

Maybe when he gets bigger they won’t move as quickly if he’s heavier. ? -Turning the swing on or changing speeds makes a clicking sound which sometimes startles my baby out of sleep, unfortunately. But it’s something I can live with.

-It has a pretty small footprint and is lightweight, easy to move from room to room. -While the collapsing feature was originally a big selling point for me, I haven’t actually used it except to take it to grandma’s house.

-The seat is comfortable although my 2-month-old could still benefit from a newborn cushion as he sometimes slides crooked in the seat. My Comfort & Harmony bouncer has one, but this item does not. -The seat can be reclined or slanted upright, which is really useful for distinguishing between sleep & playtime.

I purchased this swing after being deeply disappointed with the Fisher Prince Cradle N Swing – and so far, I’m in love! My little one hasn’t arrived yet, so I can’t comment on use with a baby – I will update after arrival.

However, what I can say is that set up was a breeze – It took me only about 10 minutes, and at 7 months pregnant that was greatly appreciated. The design is beautiful and blends seamlessly with my home – furthermore it is super compact which I love! I live in the city in an apartment and am already short on space, so not having to add extra bulky baby gear is a huge plus for me.

The display screen is sleek and easy to use. I’ve had no problems with the Bluetooth connectivity and the app works flawlessly. The only thing I wish it had was either some pre-set lullabies or the ability to play your own music via the Bluetooth.

It does come with an aux cord… but what is this 2007? I’m not even sure where I’d find an aux cord adapter for my smartphone anymore. Also, the built-in speakers could be of a higher quality, however given the ease of assembly and use as well the compactness and sleek style, it’s one minor gripe I can live with.

Lastly, the newborn insert is sold separately and retails at $34. 99. With the Mamaroo already coming in at a costly $250 I really feel that everything should be included, and for these reasons I can only give this swing a 4 out of 5 stars.

However, I do really love this swing, and would recommend it to any of my friends expecting kiddos. If you don’t mind splurging a little and if design is an important feature to you then this is definitely the swing to go with!.

It has a front forward setting and it does tilt back! My daughter didn’t like it at first and preferred an actual rocking back and fourth swing that was handed down. But then she eventually went back to the mama ru.

We were extremely lucky to find a brand new one at bed bath and beyond! Which is buy buy babys sister store and it was priced for $40. 00! Everything worked we used the different motions (which there are 6 of) and at full speed.

The sound is alright and I appreciate the Bluetooth capabilities along with the aux cord but the speaker is just muffled no matter which one you buy lol I messed with them all! I also took off the attachment that holds the 3 balls? She was more intrigued looking at them in her hand and best of all we were able to gift/give it to our friend who almost bought a brand new one since ours was barely used! It was and is in most hospitals in the nursery center or NICU! 🙂 I think I used it more to take pictures of my daughter since it was the black print and the way I would set her in it just worked perfectly, I’ve also seen friends that pass it down for there other little ones and I was sent a video of my friends little girl using the “car ride setting” tilted face up using it as a fun moving seat while she was reading lol.

So it does hold weight well and all around is a wonderful product for new parents. You just might have to get the baby or child used to it and since the speeds and settings are all different you’ll just need to find one that’s perfect for them.

You can also play your own music rather than the white noise lullabys rain etc which can definitely be of help too! These pictures were from last year – my daughter is now 16 months and as I said before I was able to have it still in brand new condition with the box and paperwork! (and as I said before it was a great option to set my little one in since I was so close by to either lay a blanket over for pictures or just use the plane black material really made the pictures turn out great!!!.

Alright. So my baby was five months old when we got this. I grabbed it cause my husband always talked about it and since I pick most of our baby stuff, I said this one can be his pick. Sadly, our baby isn’t a huge fan of it.

She sits in it fine when she’s hanging out with me, though the periods are usually short. Don’t let this discourage you though because I think there are still a lot of pros to this thing, hence the 4 stars.

There are multiple options for movements with multiple options for the speed of each of those motions. There are also several options for melodies and you can play music from your phone through it. It’s pretty easy to assemble, the fabric can be taken off easily for washing, and the five point harness is great for safety, especially with a wriggly baby.

What I don’t like a whole lot are the buttons. They are holes with what I assume are sensors inside. Great look but when you have spiteful cats that puke on things… lemme just say cleaning that out of those button holes wasn’t my favorite experience.

I would’ve much preferred normal buttons that morning. Also, for the price of this swing, it would’ve been nice for the mobile over the baby to move or do something. You just stick the balls in there and then have to turn the mobile yourself.

At this price point, I was expecting a little more in that regard. Overall though, I think this is a good product. I don’t think I would recommend spending this amount of money if your child is on the upper range of the weight limit but if you have a newborn, I can definitely see this being a huge asset.

We are soon trying for our second so I am looking forward to have the swing for that baby in the future.

Bought for my first grandchild a few weeks after he was born. He loves it & my daughter says that she doesn’t know what she would have done without it! It is very versatile as the seat can still be used in vibrate mode off the stand & carried around to where you want it.

He is happy to sit in it & watch my daughter as she does jobs & easily falls asleep in it because of the various motions. I looked at several more expensive options but this one was definitely by far the best & it also looks very stylish! Highly recommended!.

I would not be without this chair with my newborn, he absolutely loves it. It settles him and keeps him happy for hours. I like the different motion and sounds too and the option to have it mains powered or battery powered.

So happy I purchased this and great value for money too. Definitely recommend over any other chairs.

I was looking for a swing and after trying out several different ones this has to be the best. Although it’s not a swing the movements we’re better for babies stomach issues and lasted longer as most swings stop at 9kg and this goes up to 13kg.

Would definitely recommend.
