20 Best Swing Away Heat Press Machine (2023 Updated)

I would not purchase this again. Ive used multiple presses now and this by far is the worst when ir comes to the attachments. The cord and connector is loose, they spin around which makes me think that they’re not installed properly.

The attachment loses between 10 and 30 degrees of heat every time I go to press start. Doesn’t matter how long I let it sit there at temp. Ive written the seller twice with zero response so here is the review.

Save yourself some headache and just buy a better press from a more well know company. I completely regret getting rid of my old one even though it was smaller. Even if youre not using this for the attachments, the platen itself seems to be extrememly uneven heat and leaves horrible platen marks on your shirts even with using pressing pillows.

Just do yourself a favor and dont buy it.

The Good – Arrived quickly. Easy setup. Element heated up quickly. The Bad – Directions are sparse. Although it was easy enough to set the timer, it would not begin the countdown. I tried several times.

It was late, so I decided to wait until the weekend to try again to see if I had missed something, and maybe try to find a YouTube video or reviews on Amazon for guidance since the instructions included were not very descript.

The Ugly – After the initial use, I tried the unit again 2 days later and it would not turn on. I tried 3 outlets to be sure it was not the power supply on my end. I double checked all of the connections.

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly. all lead to the Eventual Return.

This heat press is great! I love that it flashes and beeps when it’s done heating up or when ur pressing something and the timer counts down. I havent gotten a chance to use any of the attachments it came with, like the hat or cup molds, but it opens up more possibilities for my company and I cant wait to try them out! One thing I disliked was the instructions are not very helpful.

This heat press comes assembled with the t-shirt press which makes getting it set up for use super easy. The controls are easy to use. Swing-away design makes burning yourself on the hot plate less likely and allows for easy placement of the garment.

I’ve done a couple shirts with this so far and they both passed the wash test and no damage was done to the garment. Overall very satisfied! I was a little disappointed in the packaging. The styrofoam on the inside of the box was broken into tiny pieces and got everywhere when removing the press, and there were some dirty finger marks on the instruction materials from the warehouse, but none of this affects the quality of the machine so I still rate it at 5 stars.

Beginer here, but I was limited on funds and wanted an Easy Press This looked like the Cricut one, just not as pricey. I paid a little over 100 for it and I have not had one problem! It works well. It even came with the holding cradle, 2 sheets of HT Vinyl and a little canvas bag to try it out on.

I am new to HTV, Cricut, and all that comes with it. But I had absolutely no problems with this machine, its directions, or delivery. I would order again!.

This works great! I was using a regular household iron for my projects because I didn’t want to spend the money on a heat press. But I finally caved and I’m so glad I did! This made a huge difference and was so much easier to use! If you make a lot of iron on decals you definitely want to invest in this!.

This was a great buy! After reading the reviews I thought I would give this a try. I had to make about 50 shirts for our staff and it did its job! Its a cute color and I love the timer on it. It did exactly what it advertised.

Would recommend this one over the brand Cricut. It also came with a mini project so you can practice on it. love it!.

The machine is gorgeous, well made, super heavy duty and came beautifully packaged. The additional pieces and parts also came well packaged and are well made. The ONLY complaint I have is that there is no user manual included, nor is there one available online.

This product would be perfect if it had a user manual explaining how to swap all the pieces in and out. If you haven’t used an 8-in-1 or 5-in-1 machine before, you’ll need to look up how to swap out the parts.

Luckily, there are some good YouTube videos out there, so I was able to find some help by watching a video on a different product. The mug press has it’s own holder and simply connects to the control unit, after you have disconnected the top platen.

The plate presses will actually replace the top platen, by unscrewing the two wing nuts and lifting it out, and then putting the plate press in. The same for the cap press, but you also have to remove the bottom platen, by undoing the four wingnuts and then replacing it as well.

Honestly, I LOVE this machine, it’s SOLID and beautiful, and the smell from the burnoff (normal) is not nearly as strong as some others. But a well illustrated user manual would go so far to making it easier to use.

I feel like Swing Design could set themselves apart by adding one for this product, even if they email it after, and it would make it a million times better!.

The heat press works as well. Everything was delivered in a timely manner. My only complaint is t he way the machine arrived. One of the wing nuts holding the top heat plate on was missing. I had to use one of the nuts off one of the attachments.

The bottom platform was not tightened down either. I took about a 1/2 hour to tighten everything down Once that was done, everything worked well.

As of 3/18/2021 I am very happy with this heat press. I have only had it about 10 days so I haven’t had the chance to try all the attachments, but the main press itself I am very happy with. It seems well built and easy to use.

Even at the large size of 15×15 and swinging it almost completely around it hasn’t tipped from the weight. It seems very easy to use. If anything changes I will be sure to update. For reference I upgraded to this from a 9×12 ephotoinc press that was 3 years old and still kicking, that I loved.

Hoping this one holds up to the hype and last just as long or longer. So far so good.

I am ok with this heat press. At the beginning I thought the value its great, but when I started to use it I found this machine is poor quality. The plug on the heat press is so loose that keep coming off while I am working on the shirt.

And the bottom is so easily to come off if you pulling too much. It just took me extra works when I am using it. and the attached switch just came off for the third used. I am so disappointed. I just think the price is not worthy.

Foot massager is great. If your foot isn’t huge you can change postiions and hit different areas. The leg massager is side pressure and wheels on the back of the leg. Side pressure is good, wheels on the back of the leg are too “sharp.

Works as good as ones that you would buy else where for way less money. I will tell other people to buy this. The only con is the gun does not come all the way apart so it was a little hard to clean.

Other then that it was great.

I use this for botanical dyeing. For fast, crisp prints, it does a great job. It’s small enough that I can use it in my limited space, yet I’m still able to work on 9″x12″ paper or fabric. This is my first press so I don’t know if the return to to the set temperature is fast or slow, but it is acceptable to me – it always returns to the set point before I have my next print ready to place.

I wish the swing-away arm could also be raised as sometimes my bundles are a bit thick and positioning the arm requires making sure the bundle doesn’t shift. For this reason, I wonder if a clamshell might have been a better purchase.

The limited documentation that came with the machine was okay; there were a few things that weren’t clear, but I figured it out with minor experimentation. Overall, I’m very pleased and feel like it was a solid purchase for the price.

This machine heats quickly, closes properly, came securely packaged and appears to be good quality. Couldn’t figure out how to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit but will just use conversion. Rare to find the shoe attachment.

Unfortunately instructions do not explain shoe attachment. Was delivered 13 days early too.

The shipment arrived earlier than expected and I was so excited to open it up. They even included a blank cap, t-shirt and some HTV designs to practice with which was awesome. The extra gadgets included does make it worth the money.

The only thing i have to warn others on is because this is a swing away machine (and there is no weight holding it down) the machine WILL tip over if not careful. There are two holes that allow for it to be bolted down to the table though.

But for anyone who is excited to try it out STAT, just be mindful of this. Other than that, you get what you paid for plus a little more!.

Really haven’t used this machine yet, but have put it together. Simple to do, looks brand new and hope to have a fantastic experience with it. Will be putting in our garage so we had to make some changes in there to be able to use it there.

I looked at several before I picked this one. Liked the fact it was 15×15 which gives me a bigger workspace than I had already. Although I liked the fact it was all in one (5), I did purchase a stand-alone sublimation mug machine because we may be using them at the same time.

It is a swing away top so be ready to screw it down because when It is fully open it has a tendency to want to tip over.

I bought this heat press on here 2 years ago and I wanted to wait until I reviewed it because a lot of the reviewers seemed to say it crapped out on them after a few months. We use this press at least once a week and we’ve made thousands of shirts on it without any issues at all.

I love my new heat press. I’m very pleased with my purchase. It was out of stock for what seemed like forever but I refused to settle for anything other than this Starcraft. It’s a beautiful well built heat press.

It’s easy to operate. Makes crafting easier and faster. It’s a beautiful mint color. The price did increase quite a bit when they became available. But I believe it’s a good investment for such a solid well built press.

It was packaged well and shipped in a timely manner. It arrived a few days earlier than expected. You won’t be disappointed.

First of all I was surprised and very pleased with the very quick shipment after placing my order. It only took 2 days to receive. It arrived in perfect condition, I was able to unpack, plug in and get to pressing.

The temperature is spot on and adjusting the pressure is easy and quick. The top platen is level and provides consistent even pressure. Very happy that I chose this heat press!.

This heat press is light years ahead of all the others. I will be buying more to add to my business. Awesome Is All I Can Say!!!!.

I bought this heat press 6 months ago and it worked really well as far as the heat control and attaching heat transfers. But overtime because it swings out, the screw becomes lose and the top plate detaches itself from the machine.

This happened several times in the midst of pressing shirts (very annoying). And you have to let the machine cool down in order to reattach the plate. Also, the digital screen is difficult to read the numbers.

The background is red on top of red numbers, so you have to really look closely to read the temperature. And finally, after 6 months of production, and I’m just a beginner, so about 6 – 8 sets of shirts (10-20 at a time), the machine just stopped heating up.

I’m so unhappy with this purchase and it doesn’t appear to have a warranty after 90 days! DO NOT BUY.

I’ve seen and bought gun cases for $200 that weren’t the quality of this case. Solid, and well made, key lock and combo locks. Could not believe the quality when it arrived. Large enough even for my bench rest rifle.

Heavy duty enough for and certified for airline travel. You can’t go wrong for less than $45. 00! Highly recommended.

I was excited to have this until I read the “instructions” They are non existent! The vinyl paper does not work and nowhere can I find ties temperatures or instructions. TOTAL waste of money. VERY disappointed.

I havent had this press long, and have yet to use the extra attachments so far. BUT! I received this very well packaged. Did not really come with detailed instructions. I was able to find youtube videos, and it works great.

Mainly use for shirts. I was using an iron previously, you can tell a huge difference! LOVE this press. Definitely worth the investment!.

I use this to make tshirts, sweatshirts, baby clothes, etc with htv. I love it so much. Comparing to the clamshell, this one is far superior. First press down and the vinyl has a good adherence evenly across.

Also, with the arm swung away I can easily lay my shirt down with your having to bend over anddrag itinerary like with the clamshell. The setup was easy. The machine came very tightened for shipping.

So I needed to unwind the arm quite a lot before I could use it. This confused me at first and it didn’t come with a manual, so I’m sharing this infofor anyone who needs to know–unwind it A Lot to use it.

Another thing, if you get a felon sheet to go with it, get something larger than the 15×15. The 15 sheet fits so precisely that you have to line it up exactly and that is a pain. A bigger sheet would solve this problem.

I purchased the same style/model in 2012. Really love it! Overall it still works great, just need to replace a part in the handle for compressing the press down. And they don’t offer parts for whatever reason.

So I just bought a new version of this because i was very pleased with my other one and they didn’t it feels more durable but they didn’t take into consideration that when you turn the press 180 degrees it’s too heavy and make the machine fall backwards! I’m not working up against a wall, and it just flipped off the table(luckily I had some boxes there so it didn’t fall very far.

They need to work on the design, so someone doesn’t get hurt! Or buys a brand new machine and it breaks!.

Works ok but the first machine I got the box with the controls was bent and it took them about 4 weeks to arrange for them to exchange it for me. And a lot of not necessary phone calls. Then received my new one and it’s bent also but at this point I don’t want to deal with it all over again.

But definitely won’t purchase from the company again and would not recommend to anyone. I feel like you can find a better heat press for the price. If it was a cheap heat press I could see some issues but for the price and all the issues they gave me if I could do it over again I wouldn’t go with this machine or company.

I was a little iffy due to the fact that it’s much smaller but figured it had a better known brand so must be worth the money (triple the price and less than half the size of my last one) so I took the plunge, and man o man am I glad I did.

from the very first look I could tell this was much better quality: instead of a cheap spring lift this press has dual arm hydraulic spring loaded lifts on each side. Much better construction in the metal.

The display and buttons much nicer. my old machine had Celcius, this machine shows Fahrenheit!!! Yay!!! From the first press I could distinctly tell I was dealing with a new grade and quality product and knew immediately my old unbranded China press was NOT getting hot enough.

I am still in awe of this one. my ONLY complaint is that mine arrived with the beautiful pink paint chipping right on the front where it’s visible. So that was a little saddening, but after reselling my other to help pay for this one and items to make I had no choice but to keep it.

All in all I’m very happy with it, even tho it’s much smaller and more expensive, I LOVE IT , and if I knew then what I know now I’d have bought it right out of the gate. Lastly, I’ve purchased from swing design before and they’ve proven to have the best prices for me on big buys twice now.

So really happy with that as well.

The heat press itself works perfectly and the color is so vibrant and beautiful. I use it for baby onesies so the size is perfect but if I decide to do adult size shirts I can definitely still use it for that too.

Definitely recommend for those who are just starting out!.

IšverstiShow in original languagePurchased this machine in May of 2019. Within the first 6 months of having it, it was giving me problems. Since it was still under warranty, Technical support swiftly helped with issue, and sent me a part to fix it.

Here we are, not even 2 years later and my control board is fried and it will cost more than half of what the press is b worth to fix it. This press is extremely overpriced and absolutely not worth that listed price.

I only tried the hat press, which is the primary reason I bought this, so I can only speak to it. The press doesn’t open wide enough to be able to set up the hat and the htv. The instructions were not as bad as other people said, however, there were no instructions on how high or how long to set it for making hats.

I have already returned it.

The manual is lacking detail. Had to look on YouTube to learn how to use it. The heat reds is awesome. The company was awesome to deal with and had excellent customer service. This heat press is built differently and the controls are not in a box on the pressure handle.

The controls are under the the heat plate and very handy.

Awesome, best unit for the price. My wife love it and it works flawless. Has more attachments than we can think about using. We had a piece that was broke and when i contacted customer service they responded within an hour, and had a replacement part within a week.

I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and will definitely be buying from them again and will be recommending this company and their products to everyone i know.

I settled on this heat press because I thought having the control panel on front would be better, but that was a mistake. Though the press works well having to look under my t shirts to get to the panel is any inconvenience.

I wish I had gone with the conventional type with the control panel up top.

I wanted a heat press specifically for tumblers and got the 8 in 1 thinking it would be nice to do other projects. That being said, I have only used the tumbler press so far but plan on doing bags and tshirts this weekend.

Machine does not beep when desired temperature has been reached and it only counted down the time once so I am not sure if I’m doing something wrong or if it is the machine. Also, had I done more research, I probably would have gone with a different brand as I mainly do 20 and 30 oz tumblers and customer service confirmed that Swing Design does not make tumbler attachments for those sizes.

(Yes, I know I can rotate the cup and the press is much faster than my Cricut mug press. ) Giving 4 stars because the temp alert (beep)and timer countdown don’t appear to be working but the press itself does appear to work.

The 8 in 1 heat press is a great buy. I have not used all of my accessories as of yet but the cup accessories has worked great for me. I have turned out several tumblers using sublimation. My next goal is to print out a few T-Shirts to see how the press really work and then some plates.

I am satisfied with the 8 in 1 so far and hope to do more with it.

Shipping was super fast. So far, I have only used the press for t-shirts, but look forward to using the mug and hat presses soon.

I love my US Cutter Heat Press. This is actually my second heat press. My first heat press wasn’t work properly so I called US Cutter to trouble shoot the problem. They were unable to help fix the problem and offered a no hassle exchange of product.

I received it in a very timely manner. I was very excited to have my heat press in time for a vinyl pressing onesie baby shower. It was a hit. My only wish is that either the clamshell opened wider or the top swung to the side.

It would be easier to arrange vinyl on the bottom platten instead of having to move the garment from one surface on to the bottom platten and hoping the vinyl didn’t move.

I purchased this heat press 4 1/2 years ago after I purchased a Silhouette vinyl cutter. My soul purpose was to do t-shirts and this has never failed me. I have now moved on to sublimation, and it is still going strong.

This has been an awesome heat press. I have not had a single problem with it. I would highly recommend it to anyone just beginning or an experienced user.

I’ve only used this once to transfer a decal to a face mask and it worked perfectly. Setting clamping pressure was very easy to calibrate and change. The control panel did take a little getting used to but overall the heat press is pretty easy to use and works well.

Like a previous person stated, I too have been buying this for the last couple years. The last time I purchased was at the end of October. I too think it sat in the sun somewhere? The roll has a brown tint to it in striations.

The weird part is that it’s completely throughout the roll. The adhesive isn’t uniform either. I’m just now reviewing this some months later after getting further into the roll. It hasn’t gotten any better and now I’m scrambling to find another option.

This used to be a great product. When the quality is like it’s supposed to be, it lays nicely and doesn’t scrunch the stickers when going from climate controlled environment to the outside world.

This is my first press and like many others in the comments, I should have bought a bigger one. The press heats evenly when checked with a heat gun, heats quickly. Pressure is easy to change and appears to be even across the work surface.

Suction cup feet keep this unit very stable. Would not store this unit on a laminate floor, the suction cup feet would probably lift the flooring and ruin the floor.

This is my second US Cutter heat press. I also have the 15 x 15, which I love. This one does the job, but I was very frustrated when I first got it because I couldn’t figure out how to get the timer to start.

With my big press (a clamshell), it starts automatically when it closes. With this one, you actually have to press the reset button on the side, something that is never explained in the handbook. I had to call the help line and wait 45 minutes to get that simple answer.

One other thing, the press times out while heating up, and sometimes in the middle of a press. It’s frustrating to get up and hit a button to keep it going.
