20 Best Swimwear For Over 50 (2023 Updated)

I ordered these poles to use as a back up for my other poles. When I got them, I was impressed with their features. I was surprised to find that the straps were designated as “L” and “R”. I have owned numerous hiking poles and have never seen this.

I noticed that the grips were different for the right and left hands. I have always used poles that had a compression locking system that tighten when you turned the pole segment. These have a stationary locking system that appears to be very tight.

I am not sure, but it looks like you may be able to tighten them up if they expand. Overall, I am well pleased with these hiking poles.

Bought my daughter 2 sizes of the same swimming costume purely because after using the measurement guide previously she needed the bigger size top. We kept the swimming costume that fit and returned the other but could only get a credit note, not a refund.

Had we returned as we received I would have had to pay return postage. This isn’t good customer service, considering all other shops say you can return to any shop free of charge. It is a good costume but I only chose Sports Direct because the costume was slighter cheaper.

Had a known I would have been this much out of pocket I would have got the same one from elsewhere.

This is my favorite suit. I’m in the water for practice multiple times a week and this holds up to hard practice, to salt or chlorine pools, and this brand has lasted longer than any other suit. This particular style is my favorite since it holds like a sports bra, the leg isn’t low cut, so it doesn’t rub weird, and I prefer the straps to the skinny kind.

Best speedo out there, best practice suit out there.

I ordered this for a beach vacation. It arrived in time to try it on and pack it. When I tried it on, I was surprised at the flimsy feel of the breast padding and how it completely twisted in the process of pulling the suit on.

I had to do a bit of work to rearrange it but decided that was manageable. I decided to wear this suit the first day on out! I’m so glad this was a day we decided to stay on the resort and at the pool.

I felt a strap pulling loose as I left my room. I couldn’t believe it. The suit wasn’t too small – too the contrary it was slight loose in the bottom and I have a shorter torso so there should not have been any undue pressure on the straps! I was going to go back in and change but my boyfriend who had patiently straightened the straps for me when I put the suit on said, “Really? Nothing is going to fall out even if it completely breaks.

You have five more straps. ” We laughed. Well by the we returned that afternoon I only had four straps intact. One wear and two out of six straps tear away? Clearly they were not stitched very well! I expected so much more! I am going back to my local Nordstrom store with this worthless suit tomorrow.

This is too much money for a one wear swimsuit. A suit a purchased a couple of years ago at Target and wore for the first time the day after this one fell apart held up just fine… and I paid a fraction of the price for it!.

I have several La Blanca swimsuits and I’m never disappointed in the fit and quality. I wear the one piece and tankinis. I am a 63 year old that keeps fit and these suits work tremendously for me. I believe any woman of any size could wear these suits and feel confident.

I ordered the 8 in the top and 6 on the bottom. The ruching on the sides of the top help camoflage the tummy area too!! The color on the website of this top did not reflect the actual product. It was more flourescent coral in person and I just couldn’t get past it.

Too bright for me. I returned it because of the color but the fit is spot on.

Wish I looked like the above model. However, I am 155 lbs and 70 plus years and this is still a great suit for me. It provides excellent coverage of the derriere; high back to hide those bulges; support without a wire and ruching to camouflage the stomach.

I ordered it in three colors -ginger, turquoise & orchid – and they were all lovely. Decided to keep the orchid. Over the years I have owned LaBlanca – they wear well with a not crazy price point. Their customer service is excellent.

This is a company that has been in business for eons. Highly recommend.

The pink color of this bathing suit is absolutely stunning and the band that goes across the front lays nice and flat. I would describe the behind coverage as full coverage. The fabric is very smooth and feels nice.

I didn’t like that fie this brand and $ I was expecting it to have a little bit more support or “tucking in” feeling. Also if you have a large bust it may not provide as much support as you like in that area.

the cups are soft and molded and it has removable straps and the sides have wire which help. I would say it runs true to size but if you’re in between go with the smaller.

I bought this suit to wear for high school swim team and while it’s a nice suit, it looks stupid. The butt area covers way too much and the ugly thick straps are uncomfortable. It’s more designed for older women.

Also, the suit wore out quicker than I would have expected, as compared to other suits I have owned. I was made fun of for wearing this ridiculous suit. While they are more pricey, the Nike Hydrastrong suits are much better and last longer.

I loved this bikini online, I wanted to go for something that is classy but also a little cheeky instead of a bikini. Problem is, there isn’t a size guide so I had no idea what size to get! I had to go along the model’s size in the product details.

I looked it up on google and there wasn’t anything about these W sizes. So unfortunately I have to return this as I got the wrong size… I got W28 when I should have got W30. I suggest you go up a size!! Nonetheless, it’s a nice cheeky swimsuit that’s nice quality, quick delivery.

This is lovely looking swimsuit however I ordered small – my usual size and a size 8 arrived. I could barely get it on! So I ordered again, medium this time. So now a size 10 arrives and again, its on the small side.

It’s really disappointing. I didn’t think that a medium would be a small 10 and it’s frustrating that you can’t just select the actual size. To give some context a size 8 asos jean is pretty loose on me.

It seems impossible to get consistent sizing the days. Unfortunately I have had to return both and won’t be purchasing again after all the faff!.

As usual Tyr delivers top quality swimsuit. Just enough stretch, comfortable and stylish. I swim 7days a week, doing occasional race and the swim suit doesn’t get stretched or colours fades. Perfect swimsuit for masters as well as beginners.

Also Aqua Swim Supplies offers best customer service. I can’t thank them enough. I buy all my swimsuit from them. I bought at least 10 swimsuits from them. No desire or need to buy from any other suppliers.

I just received this swimsuit in the vivid seafoam color. Even though I bought the size 32 (my body measurements match that TYR suit size), the swimsuit still ended up being too tight and tough to get into.

I strongly suggest that you find your size in TYR’s Size Chart, and then go one size up when purchasing your swimsuit. I think this is something that TYR should suggest to its customers: this swimsuit runs small.

Unfortunately, I chose to cut the tags off before realizing my suit was too small, but I’m glad I’ll be getting another suit that’s actually comfortable to wear!.

I ordered the women’s dura-fast one solids cut outfit swimsuit. I would totally recommend buying this suit. I got the color teal and I love it. It is very comfortable while swimming at practice. I love this swimsuit so much i am going to buy all the colors.

One thing that’s not my favorite is that the price is a little high. overall It is still a great swimsuit.

So to start with I bought a 12 Hyper Blue and it was to long for my torso so I brought it back and got the size 10. Love the look the blue is amazing. Did not like the hydro-bra. The elastic and shaping as well as the pads show through the suit.

I took out the pads that was a little better but still wasn’t impressed also felt if wet it would take forever to dry. So I started to cut out the bra portion of the suit. I’ve done this with other suits before.

This was a mistake as the front lining does not cover behind the bra area. Hence the outlines showing through. Ooops. To late. So I had to finish. Unfortunately because the liner was sewn into the bra I had to remove it in its entirety and before I knew it I had taken out to much and didn’t leave anything in the crotch as well…ooops again.

Anyhow I tried the suit back on and “ Oh my god” the fabric feels amazingly good. I looked in the mirror and it looked good except maybe a bit of nipples showing. I could live with that. A small price to pay for it feeling so amazing.

I went to the pool it held up great but was taken back a bit by a couple stares until I realized it was a tad transparent at least the lighter blue trim certainly was and the rest not quite as bad. Oops.

In a way still glad I removed the liner. Oh also note there was a bit of a camel issue as well. So if your feeling really sexy don’t remove the lining at least leave something in the crotch area. Other than that buy two suits and try it with one you won’t be sorry.

Dicks has it on sale for $64. 00. It’s a steal. Sorry photo would not load. Perhaps I’ll try to load one later.

I have had countless of these suits in several different colors. I am a 67 year old woman and I have been swimming my whole life so I’m still in pretty good shape. I love the high cut of the legs and the cups.

The breasts aren’t what they used to be so the cups are greatly appreciated and the higher legs keep it from looking like a granny suit. Rinsing the suit in cold water and hanging to dry after will keep it going much longer.

This bathing suit looks great in the front and works well for exercise swimming. However, the low back at the bottom is too low and it shows flab – even if you don’t have much. By pulling that back upwards, it reduces the problem, but then I have to remember to pull it up.

A better suit is the one with the thinner “spagetti straps” which comes up in the back to waist height and therefore doesn’t pinch fat in an unseemly way. The procurement of this product on ebay was excellent – completely satisfied!!.

Normally I look like the poster child for Lands’ End. I love their clothes, they fit well and they’re very comfortable. But I have tried two swimsuits and I will never order another one. Swim shorts fit just fine.

Swimsuits are so tight in the chest that you could use them for an iron lung. The first one I bought was a tankini so I thought perhaps maybe that was just a little tight in the top the way it was cut.

The one I just bought is a scoopneck and although I used to wear a long torso, I had material bagging up in front of my crotch. The suit fits fine from my rib cage down other than the baggy material at the bottom.

But it’s not too tight. It is so tight in my chest and in my shoulders that I cannot breathe. That’s the way the tankini fit. Mind you there’s not much of a bra so all that’s doing is smashing everything as flat as humanly possible.

I am not a large woman. I am 5’5”, 63 years old and weigh 138 pounds. Normally I wear a 10 to an 8 in Lands’ End. I went by the size measurements and went with the recommended size 10. The material is just too tight in the top.

Way too tight. Absolutely will never order another one.

Okay, y’all. This isn’t a cute beach bathing suit, but it is great for swimming. I bought it in extra length and it fits perfectly. It will cover your entire bottom and part of your thighs. I’m pear shaped and my waist to hip ratio is pretty high, so I sized up and I’m glad I did.

I do think I could have worn my normal size, but I’m recovering from a spinal injury and can’t tolerate anything tight. I bought this to walk laps in the pool and do water aerobics, and I think it will be perfect.

There’s no chance of the girls escaping, which is my usual issue with two pieces, and I don’t have to worry about what is showing when I move. Typically when I buy a one piece I have to size up a few sizes to get the length I need, and I appreciate that I don’t have to do this in this style.

That being said, I’m not super tall though I have a long torso, so it might not be long enough if you are very tall.

I bought this suit in the navy tropical color a few weeks ago when it was on sale at Kohl’s. I purchased a couple of Tankinis from LE with underwires and had to send them back because they had an unusual fit and were very uncomfortable, size 18W.

I’m a 5’3” +/- 170 lbs. 60+ year old, and I wear a 40C bra size. I tried a size 16 one piece as mentioned above in the store and was blown away. I swear, this is the best fitting suit I’ve ever had! The soft cup bra was supportive and the suit style slimming.

Liked it so much, I ordered it in the black color from the LE website, received it today, and lo and behold, same great fit! I am one happy customer and I am so glad I made this purchase! I would definitely recommend this swimsuit for a comfortable and supportive fit!.

I had gained a lot of weight over the pandemic and knew I needed to buy some swimsuits in bigger sizes. I’m an apple shape that is currently a size 18 due to all that weight gain. I was afraid to try on the swimsuit when I got it, because the weight gain has made me so disappointed in how I look.

Well, I put it on and nearly cried. I look so good in the suit! It really does a great job with hiding the stomach area. Yet at the same time it’s super comfortable. Also the design is just real pretty too.

I immediately just ordered another with a different design. I would 100% recommend this to any other fellow Apple shapes, or anyone else who has gained a little weight during pandemic and who wants to look and feel good in a swimsuit.

Cute at first. But at week two stitching came apart around the neckline. Week three it started to fade. Week 6 it was completely faded except for top of straps that don’t get submerged in water, and the sarong had “grown” 5 inches.

Finally had to cut off 4 inches of the sarong piece. I rinsed it after every use to remove the chlorine. I use it 4 x a week for water exercises. Definitely not chlorine resistant.

This is my first two-piece swimsuit after having 2 kids. Even before kids, I was insecure about my body. But I decided not to let anything stop me from picking the clothes that catch my eye. This immediately drew me in.

I was bummed that the sizing was the same for top and bottom. I wish I could’ve gotten the top a little large cause my cherries were popping out. But the bottoms fit perfectly and I’d be comfortable wearing this swimsuit in public! Only other downside is it’s a bit more pinky than pictured, but colors can be different online than in person.

Okay, so there are definitely pros and cons to this suit. I love the color and that the top is so accommodating for a fuller bust. I have a LOT of cleavage, but I’m also breastfeeding right now, so that would probably be the case in any suit.

I did not love that none of the top is adjustable. While the top fits, it is difficult to pull over your head and get everything situated easily. I also didn’t love the lack of coverage with the bottoms.

I know it’s popular to show off your booty right now, but I’m a mom to two tiny kids, and I’m not trying to do anything other than be comfortable while in the sun and at the pool with them. These bottoms seemed more suited for a girls’ trip and lounging than for squatting down picking up babies.

I was just hoping for more coverage. Overall, I like the suit. I just wish I’d had a better idea of exactly what I was buying before I did. I’ll keep wearing it and pulling out my wedgies while trying to keep up with my kids.

I order this in a size Medium in the Red color. I am 5ft 6in and about 180 lbs. I usually wear Medium in all CUPSHE swimsuits and about a size 8. So true to size. I have to say this bikini is my absolute favorite swimsuit I have bought.

Material is thick and soft and comfortable. I am a 36D and it holds me in all over and the bottoms fit just as pictured. The color of Red is a muted but pretty and different color. It looks as shown.

You will not be disappointed if you like this swimsuit.

I loved the picture of this suit online so purchased it. I liked the fact that it was chlorine resistant, tall torso and had lovely colors. When it came it fit my 5’11 body quite well. I ordered a size 8 and weigh 123 pounds.

it was perfect! I wore it to my YMCA water workouts at the pool about 6 times and washed it in my machine with laundry soap after each wearing. The color started to fade at about the 4th wearing and the elastic was giving way as well.

So, I called Land’s End, got a great rep on the phone who gave me instructions on how to return it and I sent it back yesterday! I was very disappointed because I have purchased numerous chlorine resistant suits from you in the past and they have held up well and have not lost their color or their elasticity!.

Had not tried LE swimsuits before. Due to my long torso, I can only buy long swimsuits or two-piece, so when I saw that LE makes long suits, I decided to try them. But most plus-size manufacturers assume that anyone wearing a 1X on the bottom must be at least DD on top.

Not so. I bought two styles from LE—Carmela and this one. Carmela is an absolute no-go for those of us who are not top-heavy. This V-neck works, although as usual the bust is a little large, but it is not too noticeable.

Also wish the long version was a little longer. The “slimming” control layer works well but the downside to that is that it makes the swimsuit more difficult to get on than the average lycra suit. Think wet suit and you’ll be prepared for the struggle  Would like to see it in a few more colors.

This is my go to suit, and has been for years. It is great in the D cup, and the underwire is very comfortable and supportive. It is flattering, and it I love that I can swim laps in this, the criss cross back straps stay in place.

But, Every year I beg Lands End to make the solid colors in BRIGHT, HAPPY COLORS. Like WARM PINK, TURQUOISE, ROYAL BLUE, or a beautiful PURPLE, maybe even the beautiful ombré style. But, all there has been to pick from for several years is black, and the depressing blackberry.

There used to be pretty colors! PLEASE, PLEASE MAKE SOME SOLIDS IS PRETTY COLORS! The prints are not necessarily as flattering on many people.

I initially loved this suit. I have been wearing it 3x a week for about 1. 5 months now, along with another LE swimsuit, same style different pattern. It is made super well. It holds me in, I probably could have gone with a D cup but ordering the regular kept my bosom in place while doing water aerobics.

My friend have some chlorine resistant LE suits, too. We are both in the water for 70 minutes, spa for 10. This suit (I bought the no longer available purple paisley) was fading noticably into wearing 4 times.

I’ve had this suit less than 2 months, and it is super faded. Everything else is holding up wonderfully. The other LE suit in a different pattern, same style has also faded significantly. I shower with suit on after every wearing.

My friend’s LE chlorine resistant suits have also faded, not just a little, either. If you don’t care about fading, get this suit. Or if you are going to wear occasionally, get this suit. It holds me in (mother cat tummy) and keeps my bosom in place.

The fanny is a little revealing, and I don’t even have much of one. I purchased the correct size, 10. 5’2″, 145 lbs, top heavy. A larger size would look like I’m wearing a full diaper in back. It’s a high quality suit, except for the severe fading.

I’m usually a small, but there wasn’t enough coverage for my 32C chest. I ended up going with the medium. I generally love the style. I have a hard time finding one pieces that don’t look to matronly.

I wouldn’t consider it a full coverage bottom at all though. I thought it was rather high cut around the leg with potential for near crotch exposure. I kept it anyway because I got it on sale. I was constantly tugging up on the top to make sure it wasn’t slipping down too low and tugging down on the bottom so it wouldn’t ride up too high.

It’s ok if you’re just lounging and sitting around in the pool, but I wouldn’t risk running around with my kid in it. Not a holy grail swimsuit for me because I’d only wear it if I knew I wouldn’t be moving around too much in it.

I come to Aerie for my bathing suits because I suffer from long torso syndrome. It’s super hard to find one pieces that fit me. For the longest time I was ECSTATIC with the fit and offering that Aerie had.

I recently wore one of my long suits out so I was looking for a replacement. This intrigued me. but, not gonna lie, I think I am dumb or something. The fit isn’t like it was, I find it too short on me – and therefore it’s falling lower than I’d like it to.

Not to mention, I find the wrap kind of confusing. I’m not 100% sure how it ‘should’ be done. It also falls REALLY low cut on me and I’m not sure it’s A) appropriate for my use and B) if it’s going to keep my boobs in.

The fabric is great, very sturdy and holds in nicely, but this is a little lower than I expected and I’m not sure if should keep it.

This suit is adorable and I wanted to love it. I’m 5’8/140 and I sized up from my usual medium to a large. I’m tall, but I ordered the regular length since my height is in my legs not my torso. I think I’m regretting this decision.

My butt hangs out the back even though it says “full booty coverage. ” Also, the suit wraps in front under your boobs before going around your back and then back to the front to tie. I’m still nursing my baby so I’ve got generous proportions up front and I feel like underboob showing is a real possibility here.

I’m going to try the suit in a Long length to see if the coverage is any better. Unfortunately, my preferred black color is out in the Large Long size, so I’ll try the olive!.

Mom of two kiddos, C to D cup needing some extra lift. I was worried the straps wouldn’t be able to get the girls back up, but I love this suit top. It stays put very well. I wouldn’t go on a jog wearing it, but it’s great for playing in the pool with the kids.

I’m not a fan of showing off my cleavage and this works perfectly for me.

I bought this swimwear bralette and a nani swimwear bottom in a panic as I needed a swimsuit at the last minute. I’m usually a 34B and a size small fit great. The real test was that I spent the day diving and jumping off a boat into a lake and this suit (top and bottoms) stayed on – I was very impressed.

It’s sporty, it’s cute. I don’t have a model’s body, but I feel pretty good in this.

After trying on just about every swim top in REI, I found this one and am stoked! I love the colors, the back straps can move side to side which is great if you prefer straps closer together or farther apart, or if one side of your chest is larger than the other! Very pleased.
