20 Best Swimsuits For Pear Shapes (2023 Updated)

Too small overall. Have brought 3 swimsuits from Blair before in different colors but same style but last 1 was a disaster. It is as if the size was deliberately changed so it fits small overall including the length.

Blair clothes imported from countries like Sri Lanka, Vietnam especially have the same problems. Noticed this with LL Bean clothes too.

I have had this suit before and it fit fine. I saw it on clearance so ordered two more. Now i know why they are marked down. The bottoms fit well but the bra in the top was very loose in both suits. Because they were so inexpensive i will wear them with a regular bra.

I’ve never had an issue with Blair over many years. Hopefully this was a fluke- hopefully.

I bought it to wear for water aerobics – not a good idea! Both the skirt and the top “fly up” when doing any sort of exercise in the pool – very annoying. Also, the panty under the skirt is not even elasticized and just sort of hangs loose.

Too bad, because it is a nice looking swim suit, just not made particularly well and definitely not for water aerobics!.

This swim bottom has full coverage in the back and an excellent height in front. The fit is true to size (I wear 6-8 in pants, but usually prefer my swimsuits not to be so tight). I also have a pair of size 8 in these bottoms, for when I really want to be “held in”.

There is gentle ruching at the sides which are just enough to soften side bulges, but not so bulky that your tankini top looks bigger around the hips. Gottex is excellent quality and lasts a long time with proper care.

Ordered these in a sz 12 (5-4”, 147 lbs). Good coverage in the back and the rise was fine, but I wasn’t crazy about the material itself. I prefer a little more heavier material for a swimsuit, but these are still a very nice swim bottom.

Gottex has been my go to suit for years. Having a pool and being a boater, I buy a lot of swimsuits. Gottex and La Blanca are top quality. I like them even better than a Miraclesuit.

Absolutely stunning red swimsuit, the color was so vibrant. Unfortunately I have large boobs (dd) and it just didn’t sit right, they were very squashed and looked like I was smuggling a terrier!! I had to return :(.

I bought a 34DD, same as my bra size, but it comes up too small – especially on the bust. It does not sit like a traditional balconette, as the bust width is really tight and squashes the boobs down, rather then give them a lift and nice shape.

I realy llike the straps and the way it hooks at the back. It is a nice swimsuit, but I’ve had to return it because it doesn’t fit well around the bust. I am, however, thinking about getting the next size up.

I quite liked this costume. The quality felt good and it looked ok with support in the right areas. Unfortunately, whilst on holiday I discovered that the bottom has already worn and has turned see-through.

This is very poor as have only worn is it no more than once a week and have only had it less than 6 months. I would expect a costume in this price range to last longer than that!.

I bought this for holiday. It’s a great fit but as a woman with a big chest I think it would have been better with thicker straps. The straps are thin & dig in a little so it feels a bit uncomfortable.

Other than the straps it’s perfect.

I received a size medium that was perfect as my typical bra size is between 32 and 34. It was not too loose or too snug. The top offers a lot of support and also coverage. This may be desirable for larger busted or maybe older woman (younger more modest types that do not prefer a skimpy top).

It actually could be worn for running or as a sports bra as well. I found the top to be nice and colorful and the material of very good quality. I actually ordered the bottom as well as I liked the design so much.

It’s much nicer than pictured! The top is lined and not see through in the water. It does retain its fit when wet as well. I would recommend this swim top!.

I bought this as a normal size 18ish/1x. I am an apple shape. I followed measurements provided for this suit and as someone that is 5’2 I usually expect issues regarding the length of the torso. I did with this and honestly.

They must thing chubby people must be troll size. It was incredibly short. I rechecked the tag and it was the size I ordered. If the length was 2 to 3 inches longer it would be perfect.

I love the style and colors. The only reason I do not give it 5 stars is that it is a little short. I am plus size (20-22) and average height (5’6”) and usually order the long length in your suits but this style did not have that option.

I think that all of your plus size suits should come in a longer length because most of us have a little more skin to cover!.

Very cute and flattering. The only thing I didn’t care for was that it had a metal bra hook in the back, and considering it would be in chlorinated pool water, I wasn’t sure if it would rust or not.

Finally a full-coverage button that doesn’t look like Grandma’s. This bottom is comfortable, flattering & even a bit sexy. I hate wearing a swimsuit because they are usually so uncomfortable. This bottom was amazing.

I could have worn it all day. It’s fast drying & easy to wash.

This swimsuit bottom will not disappoint. It is very comfortable while also being very flattering. The sculpting feature makes the swimsuit hold you in nicely while still being very comfortable. Very good coverage in the rear and also in the stomach area.

This is my 5th Cupshe bathing suit. They are all smalls, and this one is certainly the tiniest of them all! The body and back feel fine, but the chest area is certainly a plunge! I am small chested (36A) and the top barely covers what I expected to be covered.

That being said, this is a beautiful piece, nicely made and with a gorgeous color pattern. I would say stick to your size if you can live with a revealing top.

The perfect swimsuit for a new-ish mom or someone who wants to hold everything in and feel comfortable. Not a sexy look – it’s cute, but not sexy, if you know what I mean. But the ruffles are flattering on the chest area and there’s great coverage all around.

Maybe a little more compression in fabric around the stomach area would help! For reference, I’m 5’7″, 150 lbs, wide post-baby hips, smaller chest (36A), and I ordered a M.

It’s taken me ages to find a speedo swimsuit and this is the one. It’s the most expensive in the range but after trying a few it’s worth it. I have a long body and so many are too short. This fits well.

Wide adjustable straps and a flattering square neckline. Tried it in the pool today and very comfortable. Very happy with the design and fit. Generally speedo is small but it’s good to have a sleek fit in the water.

I have made the mistake of getting a larger size in the past and it’s not so good for swimming. I still order UK 12 but size 10 in clothing.

After struggling to find a swimming costume that would fit post-pregnancy, this was a winner. I estimate I am currently a clothes size 12/14. As I have a large bust, I ordered this in the largest size (18/40) and it fit better than others I had tried and provided enough coverage.

Ideally the straps could be a bit wider or stronger to provide more support, but in general this is a good swimming costume.

I am a standard size 10 at most stores, and I sized up one size to a 12 which fit perfectly. This swimsuit is a really good option for either holidays or local pool use as it is modest but stylish. There is a double layer across the bust and offers a little bit of support.

Overall very nice quality.

I feel like quite a few of Summersalt’s swimsuit designs ride the line between cute and grandma-ish. This is one of those suits. However, when I tried it on, the front was so much more flattering on my post-two-pregnancies body than any other suits that it won me over…until I wore it to a public kiddie pool and realized that my nipples were basically on full display the whole time.

Like very detailed outlines. I’m a nursing mom, so mine are probably more…uh, active? textured?…than some, but I was super self-conscious the whole time. I guess I just didn’t realize the fabric would do such a poor job at hiding that.

So now I really regret buying the suit, as I’m very uncomfortable wearing it anywhere but maybe my backyard with only my immediate family. Lesson learned…don’t buy a suit without cups or extra padding in the chest.

Less significantly, I think Summersalt and I disagree on what full butt coverage is. I’ve tried many suits with the most butt coverage available, and many of them in long torso (even though I really don’t have a long torso, but I guess when you’re 5’8” you automatically do).

This suit (along with all the others) is a bit more cheeky than I’d prefer. And it does ride up a bit when bending over, which I need to do quite frequently with small children. So in addition to crossing my arms or holding my child certain ways in an effort to hide my nips as much as possible, I was also wearing running shorts over it.

This swimsuit is just not ideal for how I’m using it, which I unfortunately didn’t realize until it was put into action and therefore too late to return. On the positive side, at least I don’t have to worry about excess cleavage or a boob popping out with the high neck.

I am an apple-shaped size 16, size C cup, so naturally, I was stoked to find Summersalt, which touts inclusive sizing. I even ordered the “long torso” version of this suit to allow for a comfortable fit around my tummy.

I was so eagerly awaiting the arrival of my package for an upcoming resort trip to Mexico, but was sorely disappointed when it arrived. The lower portion of the suit was way too tight, and despite being the “long torso” version of this suit, rode up in the butt/crotch area.

Interestingly, the upper half had the opposite issue and was WAY too big – lifting up my left arm caused my left nipple to make an appearance. For a brand that takes pride in its inclusive sizing, I would have liked to see more thought put into designing a suit that would actually work for a larger body.

For example, it was disappointing that there is no strap adjustment feature on this suit. Also, the way the back is designed asymmetrically, while visually pleasing on the model, doesn’t take into consideration ladies with back fat.

Because of the design of the suit, my back looked great on my right side (all tucked in), but I had back fat spillage on the left side. The only thing worse than an unflattering swim suit for back fat is a LOPSIDED unflattering swim suit.

This is a big nope and I’m so disappointed about it – I truly wanted this suit to be all it claims to be. Thanks but no thanks, Summersalt. Alas, I found a great-fitting sassy suit at a local shop on sale for $24.

I was very excited to finally receive my color block one piece. After reading how it was designed using so many different body prototypes I felt like my short, big boobs, smaller hipped apple body would finally be able to be comfortable in a one piece (I usually wear a different size on top and bottom in a tankini).

When I put the suit on it was clear it was very high quality material and that it provided a lot of support and was not thin and see through like so many suits. The blue and green color was gorgeous, and I LOVED how it looked from the front.

It gave me adequate boob coverage for my double Ds. I was so excited! The compression was amazing without being tight! Then I turned and did the back view, and BAM! My heart was broken. The cut of the upper back where the diagonal strap comes across cut WAY too low for my body that carries the dreaded “back fat” in the bra strap area.

I know so many women with this same issue that I was really disappointed to see that this suit cut so low beneath that area that it actually lifted and accentuated it! The compression of the suit cut into it so it spilled out over the back and literally looked like a third boob on my back.

I tried tugging and pulling every which way but the suit is simply cut farther down the back than I am comfortable with. If this suit provided more coverage across the back, like to the arm pit area, (basically if the back looked like the front) it would be 100% perfect! For reference, I am 5’2, 155 lbs and short waisted.

So if you have a long torso it will not cut this low on you. I really wanted to love this suit and hope that they can come out with a style that gives more upper back coverage. I was so sad to have to return it! I briefly considered wearing it ONLY with a cover up and not to swim but then realized I didn’t want to pay this much for a suit I am not fully comfortable in.

I do love the quality and I will be checking back to see if there are any changes to the cut in the future. The return was very easy so I am still a huge fan! :).

I’m a pear-shaped 1X, not particularly busty, and I slouch. I was attracted to the red pattern as red’s my fave color, plus I expected the pattern to obscure fit flaws that a solid color (other than black) would reveal if not actually highlight.

Pulls on like a dream, the bust cups don’t crumple, and the side-seam boning (!–nice tailoring detail) aids with my slouch and assures a secure fit; expect wide-ish straps will stay put. The lining is a matching red not white, as one review noted, but I didn’t find any slippage.

I also expect to be able to swim in it!.

I bought this suit in September and tried to put it on this last Thursday. The elastic at the waist was sewn down where there was no stretch. I had to cut the elastic to get it up, with my Physical Therapy assistant helping me.

It basically destroyed the suit but I had nothing else to wear in the therapy pool and didn’t want to have to cancel at that late hour. I called and talked to a service rep at Lands End. She said I could send it back but because of cutting it I wouldn’t get my money back.

She also said to me “Maybe next time you will try your suit on before going to PT. ” I’m 72, and have multiple degrees. I didn’t need to hear that from Customer service. Horrible experience and even though I’ve been ordering my suits from Lands End for many years, I won’t be doing it again.

This is the cutest best fitting swimsuit I’ve ever had. I have to get the D cup suits. I’m 5’5” 190 lbs. I wear a 14-16. I ordered the red suit 16D. It is flattering. It sucks in your tummy without looking like a granny suit.

It accentuates your breasts in a good way without showing cleavage, which I hardly ever find in a suit.

This bikini set have a lovely and summery colour that i find amazing. Colour is a bit more zingy than on that photo that came as a positive surprice to me. Style feels contemporary and the triangle shape, that i was hesitant to in the beginning works quite well.

BUT what does not work well at all, are the straps. The are sooooooo tiny and not prepped with a material that can support a G-cup and hence curl and dig into my skin. This is really bad. I find that the style runs a tad small in cup size so i would exchange for a GG cup, but the back size is true to size.

I loved the colour it is really striking and the fact that this is not padded or foam lined, who needs extra padding when you have a bigger bust especially in the water! Unfortunately the top is way to flimsy and plunging, my boobs kept spilling to the front, straps twist and are uncomfortable and major risk of exposing yourself in this top.

In fact I did! Love the idea but not practical, wore once but won’t wear again which is such a shame.

This is a really soft comfortable Bikini the bra is underwired and very supportive without being bulky and uncomfortable. I went on chat and asked what is the best size to order and the helpful staff told me to go up a cup size because it’s a plunge bra , so I did and it fits perfect and really covers my boobs to how I like it , not showing to much flesh.

The colour is very true to the picture. The bottoms are lovely with a little cut out shape at the back and covers well and I ordered a 14 true to size.

I like the style and colorful print of the tankini top. I bought the rustic blue vintage floral and love the splash of bright coral with the blue. However, since the top does not come in petite sizes, I would like to have adjustable straps so that it fit better.

I also wish that the cups were better constructed and had more support. The quality of the material is very good and better than that of the other catalog company. The other company does carry petites and has adjustable straps.

I will have to try to shorten the straps myself. I wish L. L. Bean would update the design to include adjustable straps. That would be a big help for those of us who normally wear petite size. I prefer L.

L. Bean but am torn between L. L. Bean’s fine quality and style and the other company’s better fit.

I have purchased several swim suits in the past few months from different companies, trying to find something comfortable and this suit is perfect. I do a lot of water aerobics which involves a lot of movement in the water.

My old swimsuits were so worn that the bottom of the tankini floated around a lot while I was moving so I’m happy to say that I did not have that problem. I love the bright colors and they go well with the swim shorts I already had.

Looking foreword to wearing these for many years to come. I was also happy that they fit so well, considering I bought the same size that I had been wearing. I was afraid that the new suit would be too tight, but it was really comfortable.

I’m so glad I bought two in different prints!.

I needed a print tankini top that would coordinate with black swim bottoms. I was happy to find one print style offered in Long, perfect for my long torso. I only wish the tankini fit a little closer to the torso, I do wonder if the top will float up in the water.

Also, for those of us ordering online, it would be helpful if the website could provide a list of coordinating swim bottom colors for each of the tankini prints (black,darker navy, classic teal blue, deepwater blue, etc).

You really cannot tell by looking at the online photos. The Classic Teal Blue Palm print goes well enough with black bottoms. But the dark color in the other Teal prints turned out to be a dark navy, not black, at least to me eyes.

I sized up to a small for extra coverage(and since there are sleeves) and the sleeves fit perfectly! The quality is amazing. However, the cup part turns inside out very easily revealing the pink side/inside of the suit.

This only happens on the right side so I’m pretty sure its coming inside out because of the way it is twisted. Still recommend, I just have to occasionally move the pad around and adjust the top. Usually I am an XS but ordered S.

This is such a dream bikini top! I really wanted something with sleeves and I loved this top. It is padded which was great. I’m a 34D and got a medium, and it fits perfectly! Sometimes I have issues with mediums fitting the ribcage but not my actual chest, so I was so happy this fit great! Planning to order the matching bottoms + sarong!.

I am 166cm and weigh about 58kg. I ordered an S (36) and the length fits perfectly. The suit has a great shape/ cut and makes me look quite well in shape (even though i am not). I am a little wider around the chest but thanks to the straps the suit can be easily adjusted.

I got nothing but compliments for it :).

Love the colour of this and neckline. The horizontal striping isn’t the most flattering though. Also it’s double layered, so if you take it off whilst wet and then try to put it back on, you have to spend ages sorting it out making sure it’s lying correctly.

Perfect cut and amazing color and excellent choice. Sits excellently on the body. Very flattering.
