20 Best Swimsuits For Mom Bods (2023 Updated)

This suit is okay. Not amazing, but not bad either. It is perfectly well made, but I have several problems with it. Let me say, I have had a very hard time finding any sort of plus sized maternity swim suit that’s actually made to SWIM in.

They all seem to be made for sitting beside the pool, and looking cute in. I swim laps for exercise, and my OB has encouraged me to continue doing so, as long as possible during my pregnancy. But no one seems to make a racerback, maternity swim suit, not even Speedo.

Problems with this suit: #1, The halter neck is an actual tie, and after my first 6 laps in the pool, it came untied on me. Fortunately I was facing down in the water, and was able to grab the ties, before I flashed everyone at the YMCA.

I hate feeling like my swimsuit might fall down/off at any moment. #2. No one who is a plus size (and therefore has plus sized breasts), should really wear a halter. Halter styles (especially one with a giant knot of fabric) just aren’t comfortable against the back of your neck, when holding up the weight of plus sized breasts.

It’s like having a rock pressing against the back of your neck. #3. Everything I have ordered from Motherhood, has been too big on me. I have carefully measured myself, and used their size charts, to make sure I’m getting the correct size.

And somehow everything has been about 1 size too big. And I don’t mean it’s big in the tummy, and I haven’t grown into it with my bump yet. Everything (jeans, undies, tees, and this swimsuit) have been a full size too big on me.

In conclusion, if you just need something to wear beside the pool, or to maybe float around in, this could work for you. Especially if you have smaller breasts (I’m a 42DDD for reference). The fabric quality and stitching were just fine.

But if you plan to move (or chase older kids around), keep looking.

I am 5’8 and 34 weeks pregnant. Right now I’m 189- I have gained a little under 30 pounds this pregnancy and mostly it’s in my belly and boobs. I was SO skeptical about trying a one shoulder suit-particularly maternity.

I fell in love with the abstract print though. I hate all the maternity suits that look like grandma bathing suits- truly the worst! This suit came and fit perfectly. I didn’t even need the little strap for the side and I am a 36/38 E right now.

Beautiful print, nice material and I felt amazing wearing it on our trip to Florida.

I received my product with the Inkmate still attached to it. Upon sending an email voicing my concerns, I was told that they “unfortunately couldn’t send a replacement at this time, but will br issued a refund.

” They also stated that if I wanted the bathing suit that I would have to repurchase it and they’d discount it for the same price i bought it for. I’m sorry but I shouldn’t even have to repurchase the product.

Im not exactly sure why they can resend it after I’ve purchased another one but couldn’t just send me one without having to do this whole process over again. Taking it into the store wasn’t an option because apparently the warehouse it comes from has a different security systems that won’t release the inkmate.

My vacation is now less than a week away and I don’t have a bathing suit. Why should i have to repurchase the product? It should be sent to me free of charge for the extreme inconvenience. plus, after trying it on it was a bit larger and bagger than expected for being a size medium and 175 lbs.

I don’t think i’ll ever purchase from the website again as they weren’t very accommodating other than telling me that if i want the product i need to repurchase it.

This is great for the price. I gave 4 stars because I’m not sure about the bottoms, I’ll probably wear ones I already have. Top fits very cute and it’s comfortable the way the straps cross. For reference I am 5’4 130lbs 34C and the medium fits pretty much perfect.

The top has removable pads. Any bigger than 34C I’d go up to a size large personally. Should have normal size models though in these photos of course it looks amazing on someone who is a size 4. Does help with tummy control, it’s slimming.

FYI with standard shipping took 2 weeks to arrive to the U. S.

Love Tankins! Not as restrictive as a one piece yet not as revealing as a bikini. This Tankini is a must have…. Has all the bells and whistles expected in a sexy Tankini! Comfy Flattering!

I love the aquamarine color, and the ruched midsection and lightly padded cups are flattering for my pear shape. The only problem is that the top is just a little too short. If I pull it down it sits right at the top of the bikini bottoms, but any movement will cause it to ride up and show my love handles.

I love this swimsuit!! It fits so comfortably and has great tummy control which is area I always struggle finding a suit that I feel good in. I have that csection gone bad belly pouch but this bathing suit makes me feel so sexy.

I love wearing it! I have it in black sz 16 and It has been my favorite for the last two summer seasons. I just purchased another black for future wear in case style is discontinued that’s how much I love it!! I also ordered the leopard in 16 and as soon as I took it out of the bag I could see the cut was not same as the black.

I don’t know if it was sized incorrectly but it is definitely cut smaller than the 16 it’s more like a 14. although it fit, I’m going to exchange for different size 16 because in the back area it’s snug and I don’t like how my rolls look.

I wouldn’t exchange for 18 because it does stretch a tiny bit with wear and when wet to your body’s firm so you want to keep that awesome Tummy control the suit offers vs feeling and looking loose by sizing up.

This suit is definitely true to size and you will feel like a sexy goddess in it I was so excited to see the new print I hope the new exchanged size 16 fits me like the black one. Even though the cut of suit was off, I still feel this bathing suit deserves 5 stars.

Outstanding quality and I love the strong control material even though I am technically a size 2 to 4!! I wish you had this suit but in a two piece version for women like me that are average size. I do want to offer that I wish I could find a swim bottom that completely cups under the rear in a crescent manner but is not so high up on the hip, and more of a mid rise waist.

Even the high rise bottoms are too high in my opinion and seem to have insufficient rear coverage. This suit ran small so the one piece size 6 worked, but not sure what size I would wear in a two piece.

I like the fact that the top edge of the chest does not plunge down and is closer to a more horizontal line simply because I had a mastectomy with implants due to cancer and this style is not only very flattering but hides the imperfections left after surgery.

The top part also has great support even when wet due to the strong material. The only reason I returned it is because the elastic in the leg area was not strong enough for my preference and I decided two piece suits are just more comfortable for me.

I ordered the green. It looked like emerald, but it turned out to be closer to be closer to olive. Also, it shows the ring as silver metal on the green. As it turns out its brown plastic. The fit and overall style was great.

I’m disappointed that the colors and materials were not as I had expected.

I absolutely love this swimsuit, but it definitely runs small. I put it next to my Zoggs swimsuit and the difference is huge in the same size. Unfortunately, I cannot order a size up as it is all sold out.

I have never worn size 14 in my life! I’m normally around size 8-10 for hips and 10-12 for bust. The size 12 is pretty tight on my small hips. A bit of a shame as otherwise this is a very stylish swimsuit.

I purchased a 14 to fit my large hips. My hips do fit. But this wasn’t tight to my waist despite not being baggy, making me look like a barrel. The cups seem to be an E-F (I’m a 36DD) and are heavily padded.

I didn’t find anything shaping about this swimsuit at all. It’s just a swimsuit with padded cups. I wouldn’t fit my butt into the 12 so going to return and look for something else.

I own at least 6 LaBlanca swimsuits because of fit, style, and quality. I am 5’5”, 127 pounds, 34B. I usually buy LaBlanca two-piece top in size 4 and bottom in size 6. I decided to buy this one-piece because the style and pattern are very attractive and I felt I could use a suit with more coverage than my bikinis for days when I need more coverage from sun or when the air is cooler.

I ordered the 4 and the 6 not knowing what fit would work. I kept the size 4 because the top of the suit fit better than the 6 without compromising bum coverage or swimsuit length. This suit looks great with a flowing, long pants coverup.

I found the fabric stretchy and roomy, very comfortable. I want this suit in the new hot coral, but sadly it is sold out in size 4…I am on the waitlist which I found works well to finally deliver on out of stock items.

This was my 3rd suit I ordered this season, returned the other 2. I found a winner! I ordered Indigo color, so beautiful! It is also sliming color, without being a typical black suit. The cut and ruffle are very flattering.

I haven’t worn it in the pool yet, I’m not sure how the top will hold up, without the straps. I feel it could have a bit more support for a double D size. Such as, another elastic band underneath bust.

Other than that seems like it will work well. Again, it is beautiful and well made.

I gained some weight, so I don’t expect my suits from 2015 to work. I bought this suit thinking it’s cute and colorful. I ordered the 22W and did not find that it was flattering for me. I read another review of the lady who is 5″10 and 270 pounds and bought an 18.

I am 5’6 “so perhaps I needed a smaller suit. Honestly, I just think there is too much fabric to be flattering for me. If I could find it in a store where I could try on multiple sizes, I may find something that works.

But, at this point, I’m just going to return it and stick with the bikini and tankini that worked.

5’3” 140 lbs 32DD mid 40’s. Bought both Navy and Paprika(just bright orange, not deep) in size 8. Correct size. Back lacing not as flattering on me as model. Overall disappointed in top fabric always being wrinkled.

The hanging part isn’t as long or full as it should be; I tried one at Target that laid much nicer but didn’t keep as the print was too wild. The moveable pads were difficult to adjust, I don’t want to have to fix them each time I take this off to use the restroom.

Returned both.

I ordered about 15 different swimsuits in various sizes. This was the only one that was absolutely perfect for me. As a nursing mom, 5’3”, I’ve struggled with finding a suit that offers enough busy support without being constraining.

This one is absolutely perfect. The back strap is surprisingly secure, and the adjustable straps have plenty of room to fit someone taller or shorter than me. The best part about this suit are the padded cups.

Unlike most other designs, there is no underwire and the cups are substantial. I don’t have to worry about showing through, busting out or not filling the cups. I’m a 34DDD and the size 6 gave me the perfect amount of wiggle room.

I’ll be buying this design for years to come!.

I wanted this swim suit so badly. The color I wanted was sold out online in my size. I finally lucked out when they got more in stock. I typically wear a size 6 in pants and a small or medium top (I typically like them more loose fitting plus I am a 34DDD) I decided to get an 8 in this suit and I am really glad I did! The cups are almost adjustable and you can make them larger by pulling them up bc of the runched, almost drawstring up the strap.

I am a little self conscious when it comes to my belly and I love the runched and extra material across the stomach area, it definitely sucks it in and hides it a little. The only thing that is not my favorite, is the cut on the legs.

I typically wear Athleta boy short or their brief swim bottoms because they cover more. This suit comes up higher on the outer legs. I have a terrible tan line but I typically wear athletic shorts over the top.

This has been my go to suit for the last 3 weeks!.

Love it but it is a workout getting it on. My husband tweaks the back. I have probably ordered 8 or more. After Couple months in pool 5-6 times a week to workout it fades quick horizontally and big right down the back.

I’ll still probably buy them unless I find something that can handle chlorine. Plus 75 bucks a pop that’s expensive and I never get them on sale.

Another homerun from the Calia line. The suit fits well, adjustable cups, fits well around the seat and no wedgies or sagging. Nice tummy control and the suit is made with lyrca so will hold up well over time.

I purchased the light blue and the color is gorgeous. I’m 5′ 2″ and 140lbs on a good day. the size 8 fit just right.

I was just looking to match my daughter at the beach so I found these mom and me suits. I was so surprised at the quality and honestly is my new favorite suit!! Great support and we got so many compliments.

I usually have to buy a way bigger top than bottom as I am bigger chested. It worked fine just wish I could have mixed and matched sizes. The print is really pretty though.

My product arrived in the quality packaging synonymous with KB products, which always makes delivery exciting. At first glance, I was impressed with the fabric -thick but not the scuba feel you get in full coverage, weightier materials.

This fabric provided similar coverage without the bulk! Additionally, the panels didn’t scream maternity. Therefore, I was curious how it would fit my 30 week belly. It gloriously did -with room to grow.

No idea how this fabric rebounds like that. Encouraging for postpartum too. Cherry on top was having nursing clips on the wide, supportive bands. I’ve yet to come across a swimsuit with that feature.

The only downside, was that while the straps were supportive -the shelf bra had zero effect on support. I ordered the ***** version, which adequately hit the mark in size. As result, it made me wonder if I needed non ***** to force some compression for support.

Otherwise, my chest and belly ended up looking less segregated and a bit of a blob-effect. Highlight of the swimsuit: full booty coverage! This covered just perfectly-without taking away from just a hint of *** appeal you’d like.

versus ordering a skirted suit (older looking) for instance. Overall, very excited about the potential. I likely wouldn’t keep as any level of activity wouldn’t support the chest area. We were 95% there, but that 5% is impactful.

I really wanted to love this suit, but it just didn’t work for me. I’m 5’2 and the straps didn’t shorten enough to make this fit correctly. Also, as others have noted, there is NO support for your boobs.

The shelf bra does nothing, and it’s not adjustable. With my short torso, the bottom seam wasn’t actually lining up with the bottom of my chest, so it just left me with a seriously uncomfortable uniboob.

That said, the material is nice and thick, which I appreciated. The suit also provided nice coverage on the rear, which hasn’t been the case with a lot of maternity suits I’ve tried. All in all, if you’re taller than me with a smaller chest, this suit would probably work well.

Personally, I just needed a petite version with A LOT more support.

I like it a lot! I’m impressed with the material and the fit. I probably should have ordered the regular XXL instead of the *****, but I was worried I would need ***** closer to/after delivery (I may still be right about that!).

So for now, it’s a little roomy in the bust. The only other sizing issue I see is that I wish there was a little more fabric between the line under the bust down to the crotch. I feel like the swimsuit pulls up just a little bit at the crotch and doesn’t fit perfectly comfortably.

I do love the feel of the material and the nursing clasps and covers are AWESOME. I also like that it completely covers my bum! Even with the tiny fit issues, I still plan to wear this if I need to swim in the next several months as a very pregnant or postpartum gal.

I bought mine on the Motherhood website. I ordered XS based on their size chart & it fits very well on the bottom & still can expand to accommodate my growing bump. I’m on my 16 wks, 5’2″, 120 lbs, bust: 32.

5 & hips: 36. 5. I could have rated it 5 but I find the top way too big (capsize) that it’s not flattering for my size. It hardly shows some skin, I thought it will look like as shown on the model but I feel like I don’t look sexy & a bit covered with it.

I wished they make it proportion & make the caps a little smaller for an XS. I regretted buying it & should have bought the other design which is way cheaper but might be more flattering to wear. Also, the price went up just in a span of 2 days.

Prior to buying it, I saved my checkout while I was deciding whether to get the XS or S, I am usually XS based on the chart but I was hesitant to buy it at first because I didn’t know whether it would still fit me after a month.

After reading the reviews, I decided to get an XS but was surprised that the price went up to $108 already from $79 ish. However, I still purchased it because I really loved the design & the color (although it’s not as brightly colored (bottom) as advertise but it still fine).

Then, after a few days, I went back to the website & found out that the price went down again to its original price after I purchased it! This swimsuit is available in Macy’s but it’s more expensive there & when the online price went up (both in Motherhood & Pea in the Pod sites, Macy’s price stays the same at $108.

If I had known that, I could have just dropped by Macy’s at least I could have seen it in my own eyes & perhaps, would have decided to just buy a different design cuz for me, this one does not worth my money.

I’m 5’7″ 140lbs (pre-pregnancy 125) and got a Small. It’s a very comfortable swimsuit. Fits well. Doesn’t dig in. As with any one-piece, they’re usually proportioned for larger breasts. I’m on the smaller side, so not filling out the top as well, but it’s still a great looking swimsuit that I’m excited to wear this summer.

I like this cute swimsuit and especially the spf50 feature. I am 5. 6, 133 pre-pregnancy and 154 at 25 weeks. Got a small and very happy I did. Though the size chart directed me at medium, I followed the pre-pregnancy sizing of 4-6.

After reading some reviews I went for a Medium for some other items and while they still fit fine I think a small would have been better fitting.

I’m 19 weeks pregnant and bought this as my regular swimming costume was getting tight. I loved the style and it fits well. I’m curious to see how long it will practically contain bump but so far so good.

It feels like it will be loose on on the shoulders and slip but I’m a C cup and had no issues. If you have larger breasts you might want something with more security in the bust.

Love the simplicity of the design and the comfort. Im two years postpartum and this design is perfect for both mums and women with no children. Stretchy material. I wear this for my daughters swimming lessons but will use this throughout summer for certain.

I bought this as I couldn’t quite stretch to a Hunza G. I ordered on a bit of a gamble as I’m not pregnant but couldn’t find it in black anywhere. This fits perfect I am a curvy size 12 with a bit of a mum tummy and is so flattering! Wish it came in other colours.

Nice looking swimsuit, it fits me well and I love the straps can be adjusted, as well as the under breast area with a strip. The fact it’s nursing compatible is really a nice addition. Good fit for me in size UK 10 – I am 1m70 and 61kg (at the start of pregnancy).

Really loved the print and the zip but the swimsuit was much too long for me. There was a lot of slack in the straps and no way of tightening them. I’m 5’3” for reference.

Print is funny but i liked it. Sits really good on me and makes body shape looks nice. Not a lot of support at the breast part.

I love the look of these but the material felt a little loose and was a bit sheer (could see light through it when I held it up). It fits nicely but probably runs a little big and I’m worried about how it would perform on a pool day with kids.

I may order a size down and see if that helps…but as is I would only use it as a lounging, floating kind of suit.

I am a 34 DD or 36 D and also had a double mastectomy and reconstruction. Bought the suit because it would cover my scars and it does the trick. Super flattering and nicely lined. Would highly recommend this suit and brand.
