20 Best Swim Diapers For Babies (2023 Updated)

I bought this swim diaper size XL. When it arrived, I thought it was a mistake, it was way too small. This is small enough for a doll. I checked the size tag and it read XL. Unfortunately I canmot return it for a refund.

I would not recommend this item. It’s not worth one star. I couldn’t submit review without choosing a star.

Very inaccurate sizing. Sizing compelely off. Ordered a Xl that says it should fit 18 mo. 24-32 lbs. well I sized up based on the 1 review available. My daugter is 14 mo 20 Lbs and there is no way she would fit this.

This looks like it would be for 4 mo. Maybe 10 lb at most. Looks very uncomfortable.

I didn’t open this pack because I purchased the XL and the XXL and the XXL didn’t have a lot of space; therefore I knew the XL would be too small. Since the listing doesn’t have size the package says this swim diaper should fit ages 18-24 months, 28-33months and 13-15kg.

These swim diapers are great for the infant to toddler range. I personally prefer the trunks for my 2 yr old son bc they cover more when we’re on the beach but we use these pull ups around the house (kiddie pools/sprinklers etc).

The diaper itself is great. We used these last year for my son and no messes. He pooed at least once a day at the beach and nothing leaked! Plus these are easy to clean and washer safe. I typically do gentle/delicate cycle and line dry during the summer.

The fabric is nice and soft and the patterns are super cute and colorful. They were basically true to size based on your child’s weight. I rest easy knowing my little man is in good shape with these swimsuits.

I bought a pair of these for my 19-month-old daughter to wear in the pool and at swim lessons. I used the sizing guide and measured her accordingly and determined that the 24-month would be the best fit for her and was within her measurements.

I couldn’t try them on her before taking off the packaging. Once I removed, I washed them in my washing machine on tap water temperature and then hung them to dry in my laundry room. The first time she wore them, I could barely get them on her and they dug into her legs and waist so badly that she wasn’t able to wear them.

I was super bummed because we of course were not able to return them and had to go with a regular disposable swim diaper, which I really did not want to do. I think this product is a great idea but very sad about the sizing.

This is the only swim diaper we’ve tried, but I’m satisfied with it. I sized up following reviewer suggestions and it fits snugly but not too tight (have 1. 5 year old, ordered a 2T). Some water does get in when my toddler old goes in the pool, so maybe that wouldn’t happen if I’d gotten a smaller/snugger size? But then I’d be worried about the legs/waist being too tight.

If I were to do it again maybe I’d order two sizes to try, but we are happy enough with the fit. The water isn’t really an issue, but it obviously makes the diaper kind of heavy when he gets out of the water.

Not sure if it bothers him though! I’m not sure if he’s peed in it or not, but I think the diaper is sufficiently snug that it would catch the pee pretty well.

These work really well. They do run a little small though, for example my child is in 9 m clothes and the 6-12 m size is tight. **Don’t buy these expecting them to work like a diaper, they don’t hold pee.

I saw someone complain that they leak… yeah… they aren’t supposed to work like that.

These reusable swim diapers have cute designs, but the material is way too thin with no padding at all. I have a different brand of reusable swim diapers (iPlay) that have much thicker material and will hold in the pee and poop.

These Hudson swim diapers don’t hold anything in. It will catch most of the poop, but won’t hold it in securely and won’t hold in any pee.

These are cute but run really small. They say 6-12 months and they are already tight on my baby who is wearing 9 month clothes. Make sure you ring them out before you leave them out to dry! They are very absorbent.

My baby is sensitive to disposable swim diapers so if you have a baby that has very bad allergies to certain kinds of Pampers diapers whatever it may be this swim diaper is definitely something I would recommend you invest in getting eliminate wearing the disposable that causes rash.

This disposable diaper washes out very easily.

This has done the job for us so far. We got the 18 month size for our 7 month old and it’s a bit tight on his legs, so we probably won’t be able to use it for too long. It would be nice if it had snaps on both sides, we haven’t had anything to clean up but it would make it easier.

The design is super cute and held up great in the washing machine.

This is a genius idea. I love the idea of using these rather than wasting money on little swimmers. I also feel better about not adding waste to the environment. Baby has worn them once and didn’t have an accident while he wore them, but they seem absorbent.

I bought my first swim diaper from iplay last summer and am now a life long customer! These diapers stay put and allow my little one to play in the water without any concern! I have now bought the next size up for this summer and newborn swim diapers for my little one on the way!.

My son went through a period between growth spurts in which he was on the larger side. Actually at 6 months he was in the 98th percentile to be exact. During this time it was nearly Impossible to find anything that fit him right, especially diapers.

I tried nearly every brand in several sizes but never found one that prevented daytime and nighttime leaks. I tried everything from double diapering with a cloth diaper over his regular diaper to double diapering with the top one on backwards.

Nothing worked. I bought a few different swim diapers with elastic around the waist and thighs but they were all either too tight or too large in one area or another. I was frustrated and couldnt afford to keep wasting money on solutions that didn’t work.

Reluctantly, I decided to try the Splash About Happy Nappy Swim Diaper. I am so glad I did. It was the only thing that I found to stop my sons night time leaks and unlike the other things I tried, he didn’t look completely uncomfortable while wearing it.

My only issue with it is that it was a pain to hand wash and hang dry since it usually wasn’t dry by bedtime so we’d skip a night on those days. That being said, when using it as a swim diaper this was not an issue at all.

I highly recommend this swim diaper over all the others. Just make sure to go by your child’s weight when ordering!! You will not be disappointed!.

I habe had previous happy nappies and suits for my son since he was 6mths old. I have always thought the nappy was neber big enough to cover the swim nappy and bum as both the front and back were the same size and shape.

This didnt help when he started to grow out of them as couldnt go too big as the waist and legs need to snug. This new design is great and much needed. Now that the front piece is one and the back piece is bigger they fit so much better.

The longer waist and leg bands are great too and he looks much more comfortable in them. I feel it fits him mucb better and covers the swim nappy underneath perfect. He is now 2 & 1/2yrs and the XXL is perfect fit.

Plus he absolutely loves the new gekco design too!.

I work at a swim school and this is the only brand of reusable swim diaper we allow in our pools. We have tried other brands (Finis, iPlay) but none work as well as Happy Nappy’s do. They hold poop in the best with their thick thigh and waistbands.

They go by measurements of the child’s thigh and waist and we highly recommend that parents purchase them from us rather than online so our staff can get appropriate size measurements to make sure we have the best fit! We sell them for $15 in our retail shops.

Not a fan at all. I purchased these swim diapers last year for the first time and don’t remember having a problem with them. However this summer, is another story. Each time my girls have worn them and peed, you can see the drizzle down their legs when standing.

The guards for pee protection seem non-existing this year. They must have changed something. I haven’t let the girls wear these in their car seats on the way to a water park or pool park due to a accident always happening.

I probably only used it 4x on each girl and threw the rest out. Also, the sizing to me appears a little small. Will not purchase again.

These leak horribly. Thankfully, we were in our own private pool, because when my daughter pooped, it went EVERYWHERE and we had to deflate and clean out our big blow up pool…and clean everyone in there with her.

Another time, I picked her up to put her sunscreen on and pee leaked out as though she had nothing on. Absolute garbage. They’re like felt on the inside when it comes to absorbency. We have tried multiple times and cannot go anywhere with these, so will be trying a different brand.

We usually only get pampers wipes, diapers, but NOT these. I cannot say it enough how AWFUL these are.

So after reading a lot of the reviews I had to include my headline. A lot of people don’t seem to know this, but swim diapers are NOT supposed to hold pee! They only hold poop. Do not put a swim diaper on a child until you are at your destination, and take it off as soon as they’re done swimming.

Now that that’s out of the way, these diapers work exactly as they are supposed to. They stay on in the water, they’re easy to get off, and they kept most of the sand out. They didn’t irritate my daughter’s sensitive skin either.

I am in love with these AIOs. I don’t know what it is and I’ve used AIOs for my son from other good companies as well but these are our favorite!!! We love them so much this time around for our daughter we just purchased from Grovia and at first I got the hybrids with prefolds and inserts which were great to use during newborn, tons of poop times but now we’ve upped our AIO game and just purchased a ton of AIOs and we love them!! So easy to use and I don’t miss disposable diapers at all.

I feel like it’s the side snaps and the inside that is a game changer with these compared to others. Thank you Grovia for your genius invention!! We love them!!!!.

The fern is a really pretty earthy neutral. Our little guy looks so cute in them! They work great for daytime, especially because we do elimination communication, so there’s rarely much pee and never poo.

But as of our boy being 7. 5 months, they no longer work for nighttime. They have leaked out the sides and top, even with careful “boy positioning”. Definitely recommend for daytime use, especially if you’re doing EC.

Will be trying the O. N. E. for nighttime.

Ok ok ok. You guys. GroVia did it again. They somehow did it again. I promised my wife that we had enough diapers in our stash and that I wouldn’t buy anymore. But then this drop hit with opal and fern and I showed her.

She convinced me that we needed just a few more! (Reallly twisted my arm). So we got one each AIO, ONE and hybrid. And of course they did not disappoint! Buttery soft, high quality, organic cotton materials you’ve come to know and love surrounded by a waterproof pillowy sack of water resistant TPU in a BEAUTIFUL soft/matte/sage green that is my absolute favorite color of all time.

These are great for the kids. They fit very well and are comfortable for babies. I use these while on vacation so they are easy to dispose of.

I just received this cute little swimmer, so cute. Very comfy. Only thing is I wish there was a size chart to help me select the correct size for my baby, I’m horrible when it comes to sizes I always prefer going based off the size charts.

But I didn’t see one for this product. My son is 2, I ordered a med, it fits him too perfect he might be able to use for a while, my baby has thick thighs and with a baby booty. A large def. Would’ve been better.

I absolutely love Charlie banana diapers. I ordered 3 of these lavender diapers specifically because the description says that they came with the standard inserts. However, once I received them, they did not come with the standard inserts.

They came with the deluxe inserts. The deluxe do not work well for my daughter and take twice as long to dry after being washed. I was very disappointed that they came with the deluxe when the description clearly states they come with the standard.

I have now spent the last 3 weeks trying to get this corrected with the customer support team but it has been a very long, complicated process. I was told I would have new inserts coming in 6-10 days but it’s now been over two weeks and I have not received them and have not heard back from them.

I have now reached out again to have it resolved but am still awaiting a response. Out of frustration, I attempted to just buy the standard inserts from the site to fix the problem but now the small inserts are no longer available.

And this isn’t the first time this has happened. This has happened to three other individual diapers I purchased as well as a box of six I purchased. All of which stated that they came with the standard inserts.

So as it is, I now have a total of 12 diapers that I’ve spend well over $200 on and I can’t even use them because they didn’t come with the inserts that they are advertised to come with. I love the diapers but without the correct inserts, they are a total waste.

I recently bought these swim diapers for my almost 2 year old to use during the summer. They are wonderful and are a great option for getting in the water. I have also used them while he has been potty training.

He will wear them out so that if he has an accident it is much more contained and easier to clean up but still feels like he is wearing underwear. I will be ordering more!.

They don’t absorb liquid. I read many reviews only after purchasing. It’s seems logically that most first time experiences would expect them to trap urine from within the diaper and repel the pool water from outside to keep bodily liquids from the water.

I now see that it’s obvious to most that it’s not supposed to hold urine, but I just wonder about loose bowels and liquids that are not urine. I guess I’m asking too much to expect or want that in a pair of swim pants.

Also my little swimmer was 2 at the time they were needed and the smallest size was too big to fit properly. There was still space around the legs, so I’m sure they probably would not hold liquids OR solid within them if they’re loose fitting.

I will need to search for another brand that possibly has smaller sizes.

We love these Huggies Swimmer nappies for our son’s Saturday morning swim lessons and our days at the beach. They are so convenient and easy to oull-on and off. They also have sticky side tabs that can be undone and reattached over and over.

My son didn’t have any reaction to the nappies when they were either wet or dry (we do also use Huggies regular disposable nappies on him too). For my son’s 30 minute swim lesson the nappy is near enough the same size/weight as when I first put it on him , so he isn’t swimming about with a heavy nappy on (unlike a standard disposable nappy that becomes bulky and very heavy when submerged in water).

We also used the swimmer nappies during our many beach adventures over the past Summer and found them very handy as we just had him in a swim top plus the swimmer nappy the whole time, so it was less washing not having to use any bather bottoms aswell.

My son would also pop in and out of the sea over the course of a couple of hours and the swimmer nappy wasn’t full or heavy at all. Amazing! Very handy, convenient and affordable for a family who loves to live by the sea throughout Summer.

Meaning we can all enjoy our time at the beach without worrying about frequent nappy changes. Bliss!.

My son is almost 9 months, on the chubby side but still fit the S size. I like the little scratch on the size so you can easy adjust and it’s super stretchy. It’s very easy to put on either like a pant or normal nappy.

Love the design it’s so cute. Once wet, the nappy do not swell and has not moved in size or shape. The protective leak guard are tight to bub skin so no pop can escape and do not leave marks. Though I am not sure if bub has not too solid poo, will it escape? As it does leak for pee.

It’s a good alternative for disposable swimming pant.

This seems to be relatively well made and sized properly. The issue is that the color noted for the diaper is the same noted for a rash guard I also purchased, but in reality the two items are slightly different colors and clash.

I recommend in the future Zulily carefully note the specific colors as opposed to simply calling them both Aqua.

Was looking for a swim diaper that kept everything in so I could bring my little guy in the pool. This did not disappoint! On the first wear, he did #1 and #2, but nothing escaped. All contained. Your kids can wear it as is or you can line a regular disposable swim diaper underneath to make poo clean up easier (we did this and it worked fine).

These are a must have if you plan on taking baby swimming. They’re very washable and padded nicely. You wont regret buying these. They’re a little tight around the thigh so maybe get one size bigger than you thing.

Theres elastic all around so even if it’s a little big they wont leak.
