20 Best Swaddle Blankets For Newborns (2023 Updated)

These blankets are incredibly soft, well-made and the prints are so nice. They are generously sized and wash very well. I do not recommend drying them on high heat. I dry it on medium heat for about a half hour with other clothes and then I take it out and let it air dry for a little while.

You have to remember that it’s cotton and cotton can shrink. So far these have not shrunk at all and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. I will definitely be buying more of the swaddle blankets. They make the perfect gift for any child.

I wanted to love these because of the sweet, but not over girly patterns. Unfortunately the material is very coarse, and not at all like other muslin blankets that we have. I kept them and use to cover car seat from sun, or a quick nursing cover since they are so breathable.

wow, I loved these!! they are LARGE! great for a baby blanket, a makeshift nursing cover in a pinch and even good for tummy time! soft and beautiful prints! I’ve washed these a ton and they’re still going strong! and these were great for the summer months because they are breathable.

great for blanket, and even a carseat cover to block out the summer sun when going from car into buildings. or even when in the stroller and you need to block out the sun from baby’s eyes! I definitely recommend.

I have used all three of these receiving blankets since the first day I brought my son home. They go everywhere with him, I use it as a blanket when he is in his carseat, in the bassinet stroller when we walk him, and lastly just to wrap him and calm him in my arms before nap time.

Just be aware they will shrink so wash in cool or warm water and only put them in the dryer when almost dry, not wet.

I love Burts Bee’s blankets! From Knitted to receiving blankets, are soft and so well made! Not a mini blanket like some or super thin like others- I love that these have a finished edge making BB’s muslin blankets hold their shape and a dream to fold- if you have used other brands, you know knot all muslin blankets are the same!! I have two sets and I know these will be my son’s favorite for years!! They are mine!.

I got this pack of 3 on sale and it was such a good deal since I love Burt’s bees ! The swaddle blankets are a big size and the material is great! I like this material a lot more than the 30×30 cotton blankets.

The pattern is great too for unisex !.

I love how lightweight these are but yet keep the baby warm. they also hold their shape really well even after washing!

These blankets are perfect for those warm days when your newborn still enjoys being swaddled but it’s too warm for a flannel blanket. Also perfect for breastfeeding cover just slip it under your bra strap to hold it on place.

Very nice for swaddling. Bought this for a baby shower for my niece. I actually wrapped the box containing the rest of the gifts in these blankets. Tie it up with blue tulle bow.

This swaddle works great at first, but after using it for a month it has become completely useless. My baby splits the zipper open very easily. The Velcro completely gives out and won’t stick at all despite the fact that we have been extremely careful with washing and caring for the swaddle.

Embe does not stand behind the quality of their products either. When I reached out to see about a replacement, they said there was nothing they could do because it wasn’t purchased from them directly.

Not sure if target will help name either. Total waste.

The sleep sack itself works fine. I like how there are snaps at the top so that one can swaddle or let the little one’s arms out. My little one has always liked arms out and close to his face. The straps across the body give a secure feeling for baby and also keeps the little one secure with the rocking motion of the bassinet.

I’m giving it three stars because I strongly dislike the strap that must go between the legs of baby. My child is long torsoed so it doesn’t strap properly and smooshes his diaper up. When I leave it undone, the Velcro tears up the mess part of the sack.

Even sizing up doesn’t help. One of the advertised benefits of this sack is that it allows for easy, quiet changing in the middle of the night. The strap does not allow for that at all. If I was a developer, I would remove the strap between the leg strap again.

Let me start by saying I live by my swaddlers. I have three kids, two of which would not stay asleep for more than 30 minutes unless they were either held or swaddled. So to save sanity swaddling became a daily thing.

That said I have used pretty much every brand on the market. These are by far the best. They are very pricy, but worth every penny. The zipper is a two way zip so diaper changes are easy without disrupting your child’s sleep.

The fact that all the Velcro is on the inside of the swaddle, means it will not destroy your nursing tanks… nor the expensive cute knit outfits you dreamed of taking those baby pics in… again this is experience talking.

The fabric is very stretchy so it mimics the constricted feeling new babies are used to. I would buy one for each day of the week if I could afford it, they are THAT GOOD. Register for a bunch!!!.

As other reviewers point out on several other websites including this one, this swaddle is not safe. When waking up for night feeds we found the Velcro to be up on and over our baby’s shoulders the first night.

Worried about the material covering her face we watched her in it during a nap the following day. When baby moved and wiggled her arms the Velcro moved up her shoulders again. We did purchase the correct sized based on the website, followed the directions on the box, the recommendations from the website, and their Facebook video on YouTube.

We did not purchase the cloth diaper to secure her arms down as responds from customer service on here recommend -it defeats the purpose of the 5 second swaddle as well as not feeling comfortable adding an extra layer over baby.

I don’t feel we should have to purchase more items to make the the swaddle we already bought safe and effective. When reaching out to customer service with concerns and attempt to exchange our other two unopened swaddles (the following day of receiving our order) thinking a size up would suit our baby better we were told to gift the two unopened ones and as there are no exchanges even with proof that we had not opened the other two boxes and offering to pay for shipping there and back to us by two different customer service agents.

The fact that the company would not let us exchange sizes (we weren’t not trying to get our money back) proves they too know their item is not of high quality. The ease of putting this swaddle on is not worth the possible risk of covering or blocking your baby’s nose and mouth.

I was extremely happy to receive this beautiful Comfort Knit Swaddle Blanket in Sunburst print from Aden + Anais and Target in exchange for an honest review. which this is. As a new parent (or in my case grandma and full-time babysitter to a beautiful bundle of joy while momma works) you can never have too many blankets around.

and this one is the absolutely perfect blanket. 95% cotton and 5% spandex provides for a nice, needed stretch. especially when swaddling. Beautiful pattern. Super duper soft (important when used near baby’s delicate skin) and washes extremely well.

I washed in cold water and dried on low. and blanket maintained its perfect softness. Nice, large substantial size (47″ x 47″) makes the blanket a perfect size for multi purposes. examples: swaddling, putting on the floor for baby to stretch out on and practice baby rolls, stroller cover up, a cover up for nursing time, placing under baby for on-the-go diaper changes, and for those impromptu, fun peek-a-boo games.

Love the quality! Would make a perfect baby shower gift. Plan on making this my go-to baby shower gift at all the showers I attend in the future. Thank you Aden + Anais and Target for the opportunity to try this swaddle blanket out in my home.

These blankets are AMAZINGLY soft! I cannot recommend enough these. They served multi purpose. They are warm, but lightweight and breathable. Thin and soft enough to swaddle in summer of New Jersey. They are so big can be used as cover up while nursing.

I sometime wrap my baby with them if she is cold. They made of pure cotton. I absolutely love them. If you’re like me who has been searching for a soft blanket and finds traditional muslin blankets too rough, look no further, you need these ones.

Aden & Anais products do not disappoint and usually my go-to brand for swaddling blankets. This blanket is so soft and cozy my daughter takes it with her everywhere. It holds up really well. When I say this kid takes it everywhere I mean everywhere.

It gets dragged across dirt, asphalt, grass you name it! It holds up really well. Unless it gets really snagged on something and she just pulls on it it doesn’t tear. Super stretchy and easy to swaddle with too.

I really can’t say enough about these swaddle blankets, they’re just great!.

Purchased SM/M size Pros: Cute! Easy to swaddle, stays put with the velcro. Does not shrink if following the instructions to wash on delicate cycle and dry low. Cons: Velcro stuck to a lot of other baby clothes, so be sure to strap them down solidly before washing and drying! The velcro tabs on the top layer also curled a bit after washing a few times so it was harder to keep them down to prevent sticking to other clothes.

More info: My little one was 7lb 18in born in October 2021. We keep her room around 70-72 degrees, so these lighter 0. 5 TOG worked well layered with a short sleeve crotch snap onesie. [As we transitioned into winter, we used these on warmer nights, on colder nights we used the Halo sleep sack swaddle the hospital gave us which was 3.

0 TOG. ] We transitioned out of swaddling before she turned 3 months old (to prepare for rolling over) – at 2 months old she was 10lb 20in and still fit in these great! Testing for the sake of this review, she is now 4 months old 12lb 24in and still fits in these, but she is a petite little lady – if she were any longer or heavier these would not fit.

I am 5 months pregnant with my first child, so I have not had the chance to use these swaddles (hence the 3 stars instead of 1). However, my first impression is not great. First, the colors are way off compared to the photo.

I really liked the dusty pink but these are more of a baby pink that looks dull as if they have already been washed a bunch of times. Second, and more importantly, the stitching is already coming undone.

I noticed this immediately after taking them out of the package. They have not been washed or used and this is already happening. Third, the Velcro is SO LOUD! I don’t have any children but I have two dogs who are scared to death of Velcro, so I can imagine that the same sound would be unpleasant for a baby.

At the very least, it is loud enough to wake the baby during middle of the night changes. The pros are that the fabric is soft and the set is affordable.

A few people commented their swaddled had rips in the same spot, but they are meant to be like that to allow movement. I agree with other comments that the Velcro is annoying because it is loud when having to open the swaddle to put baby in, open to adjust for fit, and open to change baby.

If baby is sleeping it can startle them awake. The new swaddled have a zipper bottom to make changing easier-these were not available when I did my registry and came out shortly after I had my baby. I wish they had always been designed that way! I haven’t bought the zipper ones yet because I was gifted two sets of the original and already had washed them.

Didn’t want to waste them. I’m also wondering if anyone else thinks the sizing is off? They are 100% cotton and I washed and dried following the directions, but the swaddle seems to have shrunk. My daughter is 2 months, is 10lbs 9oz and 22 3/4 inches long.

According to the sizing it should still fit her well, however, I can’t tuck her hands into the lower fabric, her feet go all the way to the bottom and the chest part just comes up high enough but when I pull the first part over, the fabric is just below her shoulder so it can line up with the Velcro on the chest.

Then pulling the other piece over to do the final Velcro, I can just get it to reach to close and it feels very tight with me having to pull it over to hit the area to Velcro. I do not see how she could be in these for 2 more pounds and 3 1/4 more inches.

I purchased the swaddle blanket because I loved how soft my baby’s footie onesie was and I wanted to feel that in a blanket. It is everything I imagined it to be. The reason for 4 stars is that I wish it was bigger.

The rounded edges make it feel smaller than it actually is and the logo is quite large. I do wish the logo could be made with the same tag that is on the back of the onesies instead of stitched in. Otherwise, it’s a great, quality swaddle that is very soft.

We call this the “sleeping blanket” because as soon as we snuggle baby in the velour she falls asleep. We’ve tried many other blankets and this by far is Baby’s FAVORITE. We are planning to buy more this winter in other colors as soon as they’re released!.

This swaddling blanket is quality and the color is exactly as expected. Material is soft. I love this product and have already purchased more of these in different colors.

This is definitely the best flannel blanket that I have ever seen. The material is really soft and the the size is big enough. I’ll order more so I can use it as a towel too as it’s much more softer

I love the woodland theme print to this blanket! It is also very thin yet very warm when I wrap around my little girl. The blanket is long and makes a great swaddle. I have washed the swaddle blanket and it did not curl or shrink at all.

Perfect for Jungle themed nursery. You can never have too many blankets! Haven’t used it yet but it’s very soft.

These shoes are so adorable. The material inside is very warm as well. The thing is, they slip off sooooo easily and at the bottom on the sole it has these dots that look like they have grip. They don’t.

Zero grip. So if I put them on my baby and stand him up, his feet are slipping all over the place. They’re pretty much useless my 9 month old never uses them. Just once for like 2 minutes and then they fell off lol but the quality is good.

They don’t feel cheap but they don’t feel like they’re worth $10000. You know? they’re good.

Purchased these receiving blankets to use as the coordinating flannel in a baby quilt for our newest grandson. I couldn’t find prints in the fabric stores to go with my quilt. These were perfect, They have washed very well and still look as bright as when they arrived.

I used the fox print for burp cloths. Great buy and great receiving blankets. Glad I bought them.

I purchased these for my newborn a few months ago. As I loved the prints, very girly. They wash well. To me they weren’t as big as I thought they would’ve been. We basically use them as ‘liners’. I’ll put one down in her swing or bassinet for a cushion.

Overall, the pricing was good for as many as it came with. It’s a good grab and go blanket, I wouldn’t be upset if we lost one. lol.

I was lucky enough to be selected to review the miracle blanket for the sleep store and have been sooo impressed with it! Super cute print, strong but comfy fabric and a nice big size – especially good as our boy is pretty long for his age (now 10 weeks).

I used small miracle blankets for his older sister but that was 5+ years ago and had forgotten about how good they were until this opportunity came up. I like how easy it is to use, just need a flat surface and can wrap him up.

The large size means he’s very secure and I get a nice smooth, snug wrap. He already has a strong sleep association with the miracle blanket. May fuss a little as I start wrapping but then can see him realise that he knows what’s happening and he relaxes ready for sleep.

It took awhile for me to write this review as I decided to transition from his bassinet to a cot and wanted to see how that went. And thanks to the miracle blanket, I’m happy to say that it was basically seamless! He goes to sleep in the cot at night just as well as he did in his bassinet.

He will self settle at night as well, often going 6 hours between feeds. so I get good sleep most nights and am a happy mama! Daytime is more of a struggle as we have a busy house with 3 kids so he likes being held and in amongst all the action.

He still associates the wrap with sleep and will relax and drift off super quickly if held but doesn’t like being put down. All in all the miracle blanket has worked amazingly to help get a good nighttime sleep routine in place and aids with sleep during the day.

The only thing that would make it better is if it was compatible with seat belts. it would be so handy to pick up a sleeping wrapped baby and strap them into their carseat or pushchair without having to unwrap in order to pop out for a quick errand or to pick the kids up from school etc.

I received this product from the sleep store to give an honest review about it. Before using this I’ve been using a different type of swaddle and she was able to get her arms free quickly no matter how tightly I wrapped her, which made it more likely for her to wake up at night.

The miracle blanket keeps her arms down with the arm flaps, and her body weight stops her from being able to get them free, no matter how much she wiggles. The first night of using this she slept her longest stretch of 4 hours.

Prior to this she only sleeps around 1-2 hours. After not having more than 1-2 hours of consecutive sleep before this, believe me when I say the miracle blanket is really a miracle. A bit of getting used to putting it on.

However, this works a lot better, and my baby sleeps for hours more so it’s 100% worth it.

As a first time mama, I wanted to prepare for our baby and for the sleepless nights ahead of me as best I could so I bought two miracle blankets amongst other things. Our baby is three weeks old now, and we’ve used her miracle blanket every night since birth and surprisingly enough when people ask how many hours of sleep we get each night they’re a little taken aback when I reply “7-8 hours” with our baby sleeping on average 3-5hours at a time.

We use muslin wraps in the day to give her a little more leeway in terms of being able to move her arms but at night in her miracle blanket we like to keep her snug with each arm tucked in nicely beside her that way she doesn’t wake herself up.

I intend on passing this on to my sisters who have babies on the way.

This swaddle was the easiest to use of all the different swaddles I tried for my newborn. The simple zipper makes wrapping your little one up a breeze. My little girl likes both the “arms out” and “arms in” options for swaddling.

This product makes it easy to let her arms out if she wants to self-sooth. My only complaint is that it seems like the swaddle could be tighter around my baby’s mid-section, providing that snug, swaddle fit.

This is an ok swaddle. It swaddles pretty tight which can be either a good or a bad thing depending on the user. However, my baby didn’t like having her hands swaddled down so she didn’t enjoy this swaddle.

Luckily you have the option to open the sides of the swaddle so you can get your baby’s hands free but I personally preferred using a Swaddle Up -swaddle instead.

My daughter sleeps almost through the night when put on this. She is 8 weeks old z and only really wakes up once at night. In other swaddles she would cry but this swaddle allows her to still move her arms around but let’s her feel she is being held tight.

I also love that it can be zipped from either the top or the bottom when she is wearing it making diaper changes at night very easy.

Y’all did a great job choosing the symbols of Texas to include on this very soft and cozy blanket!! I especially enjoyed seeing Cadillac Ranch. I used to take my Texas History students on trips all over our great state, and that was one of their favorite locations.

I love love love how soft the swaddle and bib are. The print is perfect for our little girl to show off her KY pride. I will say if there was an option to have a lined blanket like the bib is I would order in a heart beat! The blanket is super soft and thin like a typical muslin swaddle blanket, but I would have loved something that seems a bit more durable like the bib as an option.

I have shared this with a lot of friends and this will definitely be my go-to baby shower gift from now on.

I ordered this for my best friend who was born and raised in Pennsylvania and moved to Virginia where we met and where her and her husband currently live. She was so excited to receive something that reminds her of home when holding her little boy.

The fabric is great and I would definitely purchase again. Since I am currently pregnant I might have to purchase the North Carolina set for myself! WOULD FOREVER RECOMMEND!!!.

I just opened and it has strong chemicals odor! I can not understand how you can sell like this? I even did not want to wash to try remove this chemicals, it’s organic certified , how is it possible that should be smell formaldehyde ? That’s for children! Are you serious ?.

I like the size of them but after first initial wash they are not soft the way organic cotton should stay. I got similar pattern and size ones off Amazon and they kept their softness after first wash.

Won’t be buying more because of the reason stated above unfortunately.

These are so soft & breathable as well as larger than the hospital swaddle blankets which made swaddling much easier! We always made sure it was in the diaper bag this summer.

LOVE this swaddle. No Velcro, so when baby squirms they’re not waking up because of the sound velcro swaddles might make. Multiple layers of wrapping to ensure arms stay put, and wide bottom so hips/legs aren’t constricted.

Breathable fabric – not heavy but not too light. However, if your baby gets hot easily I would dress them in something really light during the summer months. Easy to wash, easy to use night after night with no break down of fabric or structure.

The miracle blanket is the first swaddle we have tried on our little man, where his arms/hands have not found their way out within an hour! The fabric is soft with enough stretch to make it easy to put on, and the size is generous to wrap around the baby, and tuck underneath nice and securely! I got excited to try it on as soon as it arrived, little one fell asleep right there on the mat all wrapped up tight.

His sleep is less disrupted by his movements – I would definitely recommend this product to anyone that has a wiggly baby that breaks free from a standard swaddle.

A baby sleep expert recommended I purchased this after I told her my baby kept wriggling out of her old wraps. I cannot recommend these enough! My baby also sleeps alot better while wrapped in the Miracle Blanket.

The quality is superb. The cotton fabric is nice and not too hot for her which was also a problem before. If you’re unsure right now whether to get it, this is your sign to go ahead and just buy it! It’s worth it.

This cover is extremely thin. The photos are misleading. It says it’s soft and warm. The cover is not made to keep anyone warm. It looks nothing like the photo in person. It’s not a blanket it’s thin like something you wrap on your head.

I was so excited to receive this just to have to return it. When you open it up, it’s see through. The photo doesn’t show that it’s see through. I held it up and seen everything in my home.

This was exactly what I was hoping for! I bought a different swaddle at a boutique for my daughter and it’s so soft/silky and I wanted another one. This is the same lightweight material and it just gets softer with each wash! The pattern is super fun too! Will hesitate to buy more of this brand on future!.

We got the New York print at our baby shower and loved it so much bought the California one! Love the sweet imagery in the prints. They are the highest of quality fabric. I’ve never felt cheesecloth so soft ! The size is perfect as a bib and burp cloth and the little snap is so convenient.

Just adore this product for our little ny/ca girl !.
