I really hoped I wouldn’t have a chance to review these, if you know what i mean, but alas, I do, and they were amazing! I have a front wheel drive Rav4 with decent tires, but the temps had been below 0F for several days, and I parked on a slope while ice fishing.

I am assuming the tires were a bit warm when getting there, and they melted the frozen snow some, and made it a challenge to go up the slope and get out of the hole. I threw these little guys on and boom, right out I went.

Snow was about 4″ deep around that area, and these still bit in nicely, getting me out of the spot I put myself in. I hope I won’t need them again, but I know if I do, I can rescue myself and save either a friend having to bail me out lol or a tow fee :).

I couldn’t get my fully loaded trailer with cord wood out of the woods and up the hill because of the ice and snow. I went out and picked up these Trac-Grabbers at Cabelas. And about five minutes after getting back to the trailer in the woods I had them strapped to my trucks tires.

Real easy install. I climbed right out of the woods and up the hill with no issues. Super happy with this product! Would definitely recommend.

A very good product to use when stuck, but you need to listen to the instruction very well, the instructions arent there to make you go slower or hinder you experience with the product, the instructions are there to make the product work the best and not break.

The first of the two most important instructions are to keep your wheels straight, they say this but dont give you a reason, and the reason is if you turn your tires too much with these on it can damage your cars tire well and everything around it, and can break the trac grabbers as well.

The second is to go slow with these on, if you put the trac grabbers on and floor it you are an idiot for thinking there not gonna break, you need to slowly crawl out of wherever your stuck. It even works a lot better when you do that, AND if you are flooring it and they somehow dont brake you will dig your self deeper.

Ive seen too many bad 1 star reviews about these. And I cant understand why, Im only assuming its because people cant follow directions and get cranky when the product fails and they cant seem to understand why.

Ive used these countless times after getting my Jeep stuck in some bad mud and have had no problems whatsoever with them.

In sub-zero temps, this tire has performed great. I can not find a situation where these tires lose control. But they’re not perfect. These are not as good as the Hakka’s, X-Ice’s, or the Blizzak’s but I doubt anyone would actually notice in real conditions.

I will buy these again and save 30% over the premium winter tire options. If you need to drive up a 90 degree ice wall then sure the Blizzaks might give you the best shot. But if you drive like a normal person, even in terrible (Minnesota) conditions, these tires will do more than enough.

This is my second purchase of this brand of tire. My last set lasted 60k miles winter and summer no rotation done. If rotated would have gone further. Great in heavy snow conditions.

Im glad I bought my Nexen tires, once in my Rav feels sturdy on the road. The tread is excellent and they are excellent looking as well as workable, thank you!

In October 2020 we would soon need new snow tires for both of our vehicles so I started looking around at what was available. I previously had General Altimax Artic winter tires on my vehicle and even after 5 years they were still great in winter conditions but I figured it was time to replace them.

On our other vehicle we previously had Continental WinterContact SI Plus tires. My wife does more driving than me so I was not surprised these tires were wearing a bit faster but had provided excellent traction for three winter seasons.

According to Canadian Tire the Michelin X-Ice® SNOW was the top rated winter tire, just ahead of the Continental WinterContact SI Plus. (For some reason the General Altimax Artic tire had no CT rating despite having excellent customer reviews).

We purchased two sets of the Michelin tires and assumed they would be great in winter conditions. When winter weather finally hit we were shocked to find both of our AWD vehicles were sliding (fish-tailing) at the slightest sign of snow, slush, or ice on the roads.

Neither of us drive aggressively and had experienced no sliding of this type in similar conditions on our previous winter tires. These Michelin X-Ice® SNOW tires are the worst performing winter tires I have ever owned, especially considering their premium price.

Michelin touts the tires long tread life in their ads, saying that you can get an extra winter out of them compared to other brands. I have no doubt that this is the case but I’d rather have three seasons of excellent winter traction than four seasons of poor traction.

I wish we had went with the Generals or Continentals again. I don’t know how CT rated these Michelins as the top winter tire, They must have tested them on bare, dry roads.

With increasing gas prices, I decided to keep my car three more years so I took advantage of an end-of-winter sale and replaced my older Michelin x-ice tires with a new set. My car is hybrid-electric, so when it’s running strictly on battery, it’s very quiet.

After a month of driving, I cannot believe how much more quiet this tire is compared to the previous generation. I got a good price, a highly rated Michelin tire, and I’m set for the next three or four seasons.

The sales team was a bit of a fast-talking crew, promised a few things they did not deliver, like a Michelin rebate directly from the manufacturer, but overall, I am pleased and would recommend this tire without hesitation.

Replaced these tires on BMW 431 ( had Pirelli snow tires on ); There is roll at corninrind , feel slike going to loose traction; On snow and ice; 10% better than summer tires. Only good thing about them is less tires noise.

2006 RWD ford explorer. Old tires were squirrly on a nice day. Only drove this vehicle on dry days. Thought I’d try a set of winter tires and bought 4 cooper true north. Whoa. Night and day better traction in wet and ice snow conditions.

It handles better than my 4wd yukon with these winter tires. 2 deg right now, snowing, ice everywhere and just got my kid to his game. Had to share. You want a set of phenomenal tires for these conditions, These are them.

I bought these tires and had them installed on the 27th of September and on the 2nd of October we got 40 cm of snow. This is probably the first time I’ve guessed right about installing my winter tires in a timely fashion.

I chose the Cooper tires based on experience with Discoverer M+S tires that I’d used on a Toyota FJ for over a decade. My new tires, Discoverer True North, are on a Subaru Outback. I’m impressed with the grip and control the tire offered in accelerating and stopping on ice and in deep snow.

They are also significantly quieter on dry pavement than all but a very expensive set of Bridgestone tires I had on a BMW I’d previously owned. My installer told me this was the only set of these tires he’d sold.

That’s a pity because they seem to work very well. I bought them based on past experience with Cooper tires and a very positive report from Consumer Reports. My decision seems to have been a good one.

One of my very best Walmart experiences. the tires arrived in a timely manner, I was contacted immediately, I schedule an appointment to get them installed, the installation took only about an hour, the Service Techs were professional, clean and courteous.

As for the performance of the tires. I was almost ready to sell the vehicle because the all season tires, with < 8k miles on them, performed so terribly on snow and ice (NE WI) that I thought I couldn't use just a front wheel drivev SUV.

These snow tires are remarkable. Since having them installed I’ve been through a 3 inch and a 6 inch snow fall and it’s just like driving my four wheel drive truck. The difference in throttle, brake and steering control is amazing.

Yes putting four new snow tires on isn’t cheap but it’s well worth it when you consider the cost of just one trip into a ditch or another vehicle.

I really have not had these tires on long enough to give an honest evaluation.

I’ve driven 10,000+ kms during the winter of 2019/2020, 90% of my driving is on the QEW/400-series highways in Ontario. Mercedes recommends 17″ wheels for the GLK, but having 20″ OE wheels with AMG package I opt’d to go with 19″ wheels to maintain handling, and I never regretted it.

The tires are quiet, comfortable, corner and turn-in well, and soak up the potholes. Although I’ve never had the opportunity to try it in deep snow conditions, traction in dry and wet/snow is excellent, and able to handle turbo-diesel torque in high boost conditions, allowing seamless thrust with the 4Matic all-wheel drive system regardless of weather.

I’ve also noticed the benefit of quick recovery time when the tire hydroplanes in wet snow/slush/rain. The only downside would be a bit of tread squirm under hard/panic braking, but it’s to be expected with the narrow tread blocks (Alpin A4 winter tires did the same; similar tread design); on a SUV it would be more noticeable than on a car due to more weight transfer.

If you’re a hard braker, then the Pilot Alpin PA4 might be the better choice. For most people, this tire is an excellent choice for urban areas. Previously, I’ve purchased Pilot Alpin PA2/PA3/PA4’s, X-Ice3 and Alpin A4’s, and await installation of the X-Ice Snow on another vehicle—I’ve always been happy with the performance of the Michelin family of winter tires; my number one choice if available in my tire size.

I’ve been extremely happy with these tires, compared to the all season tires from the factory these are similar or lower noise, significant improvement in ride comfort. The very slight amount of traction given up in dry and wet is easily made up for in the snow.

Tires traction in wet and snow is predictable and made it easy to navigate close to a foot of snow. Would not hesitate to purchase these tires again.

Big snow fall early Nov. here in Ontario. First time out in snow on these and wow they are awesome. Tried to test myself to see how much glide, slide, grip and stop was on these and I was super impressed.

They gripped like a champ and I felt super in control. Great comfortable and responsive ride. SO thrilled I purchased the for my car.

The one negative is road noise on some types of pavement. Other than that… a superb tire: ride, traction, wear, handling.

I purchased the pilot alpin 5 winter tires in November 2020 Was very satisfied with performance and the look of the tires.

Put a set of these Pirelli Scorpions on my daughters 2017 Tacoma. This all weather tire makes for a great ride in her Urban/suburban environment. Expect only 50,000 miles for wear.

These tires are excellent! I just had to use them yesterday during the snowstorm with roads that were icy and snowy. Of course I had to be careful but my car maintained control at all times; I was able to break and turn without issues.

Bought these for my Toyota Tacoma. I commute 140 kms round trip every day from a small town in Ontario to a larger city in the GTA. Everyday I felt confident that no-matter-what the elements would throw at me these tires would do the job and get me through.

Installed, with tire pressure sensors, steelies, these were not cheap – but then how much do you value your safety? I have a friend who has put two words together and came up with Gription. These tires have it.

I have factory Bridgestone Hypersport S22’s on my 2019 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R (636) they were installed right from the factory when my bike was built. My tires have 4,400 miles on them with just a little life still left.

I was here reading reviews because it’s just about time for a new set. My 636 will be receiving tires for the first time since it was built in Japan lol. And, yesterday I hit two nails that punctured my rear S22 tire.

I managed to plug both holes on the side of the highway and I was able to drive home my bike home. Yes, 4,389 miles on these tires. First of all, let me say I have never gotten good motorcycle tire wear in my life.

I always chewed through tires… I dunno why. Well, these S22’s held up. The front tire and rear tire have a little tread left in the center, but the front tire is cupped pretty bad. The bike still rides insanely smooth though.

Even at hyper speeds. I’m nearing the wear bars as well. I am buying S22’s to replace my factory installed S22’s. I could probably milk them to 5K miles. But, seeing is the front is cupped and I have two plugs in the rear, I say it’s time for new ones.

4,389 miles is nothing short of INSANE!!.

This WS90 is the latest model that is supposed to last one winter longer than the WS80. I started with WS60’s some years ago. Even worn, I’ve never felt like I regretted the purchase nor the effort. I’ve used Dunlop and Firestone and other makers of snow tires but these handle and last and grip the best.

I’ve had Nokians and they are not worth the additional cost. Snow tires are cheap insurance. and necessary even if AWD/4WD as that will NOT help you in corners and coming to a stop!!!! Even with the older models, I did not feel the material wore out too fast.

As with all snow tires, remove when temps get above 70 so they do not becoming too soft and pliable and wear out much quicker. I’ve used these on Highlanders, Camry’s, Civics, Odyssey’s.

Walmart makes buying tires on-line. Why go on-line instead going straight to the store?, because the best tires from the top tire companies are on-line, but almost never at the store. On-line pricing is as good as you will ever find and the tire are delivered free to the store.

Warning, be sure to keep your paperwork and check to be sure your receipt is accurate. I had road damage to a tire but they would not honor my claim because I did not have the receipt. On the next set I purchased, I asked for road damage, but they forgot to include on work order, but corrected by adding it to my credit card and it then did appear on my card receipt.

I believe the mechanics do good tire work, but are sloppy at the check-out counter. As the customer, you need to make sure your paperwork is all in-order before you leave the store.

So far these tires perform tremendously in the snow and slush. Only had them a month so we’ll see how the rest of the winter goes, but I have no doubt they will work perfectly for my needs.

Great except the black nut covers I got were too small for my vehicle. Would still order from them again any day – but will order extras elsewhere 😉

I bought a set of these for a RWD Ford Ranger. The noticeable stability that these tires bring is second to none. I chosen not to stud the tires and had no problems at all going through any winter condition.

It felt like my RWD ranger was a 4×4. The high amount of Sipes and snow groove technology is really evident in the tire. These tires hug the road and I have noticed big difference in shortened braking distance.

I would put them up against a Michelin tire any day of the week. You cannot go wrong with having these tires on your vehicle.

This is my first pair of snow tires, and so far they’ve been worth every penny after 500 miles of dry highway, snowy highway, and a mixture of plowed and unplowed backroads. They look and feel and drive like light-truck tires, and that’s not at all bad.

A little road noise is noticeable on the highway, but the peace of mind is preferable to a harder tire that might be more quiet. I’ve tested them in a Top 10 all-time snowstorm in Duluth, MN (post Thanksgiving 2019, 24 inches in 24 hours), and they did very well maintaining traction during turns, starting, stopping, and tracking straight in several inches of snow.

The roads were really horrible even after a day of plowing, but the tires made everything stress free even while the plows struggled to keep up. When it came time to actually break free from the snowbank where my driveway used to be, I don’t know if I would have made it out without these tires.

They did spin a little, but instead of spinning, heating up, and smoking like regular all-seasons, they instead sucked the snow into the tread, hooked up, and got me going with 6–8 inches of snow underneath my vehicle (and thus directly behind the front wheels).

I have no AWD. The tires did all the work. The difference in winter performance over regular, all-seasons is noticeable, to me at least. The FWD vans I have driven generally do well in snow, but often feel sketchy/out of control due to their harder rubber tires.

This is the biggest difference I notice about the Evolutions, and really all snow tires—the softer rubber plus the tread really do work. On the interstate, they tend to start to howl a little above 65 mph.

I don’t notice the noise as much at 45–55 mph on county roads where I normally drive. If I had to drive hundreds of highway miles on dry pavement every week for work, for example, I’d probably chance it with softer all-seasons.

But since I use the interstate sparingly, I’m all in for the winter rubber. It remains to be seen how well they wear. I hope to get two or three winters out of them, November to March, but we’ll see.

I have purchased several pairs of these tires for winter driving. They do a great job in snow. They are not a long lasting tire. Longevity is not why you buy these tires. Ideally you should have an extra sets of wheels to put these tires on and run them for the winter season and then remove them to store for next year.

They seem to wear pretty fast and they may not be useful for the following winter if you leave them on all year.

never tried Black Hawk tires before. I’m still breaking them in. I give them a four point star. I would definitely recommend them. For the price Priority is selling them. Too bad there’s not a part 2 survey.

Just bought these tires. They ride smooth and quiet. Not sure why they send out the reviews at the same time your tires tend to arrive; not much of a review can be written.

Put almost 1000 miles on my tires and they have performed in dry and wet conditions great. The real test will be when the snow comes.

I have these tires on our 2014 Volkswagen Jetta GLI (225/45R17 94T) and I love them! Even in the low to the ground and front wheel drive Jetta, I constantly pass stuck SUV’s and trucks in snowstorms.

Amazing grip in snow, ice and slush. I always feel in control. They ride well and they are quiet enough. I’m really impressed with these tires, they are now part of my recommendations!.

Came on a 2WD 91 Ranger I bought in 2007. I live in the country and often need a little extra traction. These have given me great traction on snow, mud and ice. I’ve had good tire wear. I’ll be buying new ipikes when I’m ready to replace them.

I have used Hankook iPike snow tires for many years now and have never had an issue with them. They have incredible performance in all road conditions and wear quite well. I have recommended them to many friends and family members who were all also very impressed with them.

I drive pretty spiritedly and I average about 30-35k miles per set and run them year round without rotating them. They can be studded, but I have never had the need for it as they grip very well without.

I live in upstate NY in the Finger Lakes region and don’t have enough ice roads to warrant studs, these tires simply grip well enough without. I drive a 2000 Saturn LS1. Also these tires are rated for a heavier load, so they would be good for a light truck or SUV.

Tires were delivered very quickly (a couple of days only). Canadian Tire, after 6 weeks, still could not get these tires for me !! Thank you.

Shopping was easy but too soon to leave a review on the tires.

Tires, so far, have been great in the snow and ice. I was a bit surprised that they came with only 9. 5/32 tread new, especially after adding the “snow” to the tire name. I’m hoping that the tread is durable enough to get me through at least four seasons with that.

Today, I noticed that they are definitely prone to hydroplaning in moderate to heavy rain, so be careful. I would assume that possibly a slightly deeper tread might reduce that issue. If it wasn’t for that aspect, it would have definitely been a five star rating.

Long time Michelin X-ICE winter tire owner and we bought a new set for our Honda Ridgeline and these are great tires. Recently had accumulations of snow on our roads and these tires handled it like a champ.

Going from a dead stop to safe speeds is pretty much instant with little to no wheel spin. Braking is also great and as long as you RESPECT the weather and road conditions, you shouldn’t have any issues navigating through snow build up, corners or slippery bridge and on/off ramps.

Great tires and would highly recommend these if you’re looking for a winter tire.

I’ve had many different winter tires over the years, several of them were very good, but each had at least 1 flaw. I’ve had the Michelin X ice snows for a month now, and they have been excellent. Fuel economy is exceptional for any tire, let alone a winter tire (My Nokians were great too) They will literally pay for themselves vs my previous ones.

Very smooth and quiet, which is important to me since we usually don’t get much snow and therefore drive on dry pave more often than not. Braking is excellent too as advertised. I haven’t seen ice yet or deep slush, that’s tough for any winter tire but these should be decent in those conditions as well.

If they last as long as Michelin says, I’ll definitely be buying them again. My favorite winter tire so far I’ve used.

I’ve ran the M&S studded for 15yrs on my 02 Excursion towing a 30′ snowmobile trailer all over CO and WY. They didn’t last long but were the best snow tire out there. Mostly had to worry more about someone sliding into the back of you when stopping.

Bought some snow claws for the wifes expediton and they work well – not as good as the M&S’s but are better than anything else I’ve tried. They are less noisy and more round than the M&S’s. Going to try a set on my new F250 this winter and see how they roll.

Seems like the compound is harder and they will last longer but that really isn’t a factor for me.

I’ve run Cooper discoverer tires in the past and these new snow claws do not disappoint! I live in northern Vermont and see every kind of weather and I’ve had some heavy snow, light snow that leaves a glaze on the road, rain, and dry conditions to tests them out.

No issues. Much quieter than my Falken Wildpeaks. I pretty much have run every brand snow tire or severe rated tire on my Toyota trucks over the years and Cooper is always end my favorite. They are affordable and have never had an issue whether up.

I bought these tires due to having the use of family cottage 400 km North of home. Driving there in the winter is unpredictable but I have made many trips this winter in different road conditions and I am very happy with these tires.

Quite and smooth enough for dry pavement and aggressive enough for snow, slush and ice. Truck hasn’t made a miss move with these tires on.

I just had these tires mounted on steel rims for the winter. I’ve had the same tire on a previous vehicle and was very happy with the performance. They also have very low road noise for a winter tire.

We haven’t had any snow yet so I can’t give a honest review on performance on snow or ice however with my previous set they worked well. My vehicle is a Mazda MX 5.

I have these on my 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe SUV AWD and they are great. The vehicle was new a few years ago and the original tires were all seasons and they were terrible. I can really stop well, which is where the originals failed.

My tires are 19 inch and they are rather pricey and so are the steel wheels they are mounted upon, its an odd size.

Great winter tire, good traction and little road noise. Keep in mind that you are starting with 10/32” tread where most others are 12/32” to 13/32” (265/65/R17). These tires will wear more quickly. Also, make sure your wheel alignment is within specifications before putting these tires on your vehicle.

My alignment was off slightly and I only got 20,000 Kms out of them.

I wanted to wait until I had an opportunity to properly evaluate these tires. I have now been driving on them for close to two months daily. They perform exceptionally well in all conditions, they are very quiet, with great handling.

I also might add that they road force balanced to spec.
