This SUV tent worked great for us. We were traveling cross-country with our two dogs and two cats (yes, cats!) and with the pandemic raging, did not want to have to try to find a hotel that was (1) open and (2) would take cats.

This tent was really easy to set up and attach to the car. The attachment and elastic skirting created a secure barrier so I didn’t worry about the cats getting out of the space. Also, the tent is really pretty big! My 6′ husband had no trouble standing up in it and it was big enough inside for all four of us, including our Samoyed dog.

Having access to the rear of the SUV for food and camping gear was really convenient too! This was a great buy!.

Bought this and am mainly very happy with it. East & fast to set up. Spacious and great standing room. Last night it rained …. Woke up to a puddle on the floor and the end of the suv where the door is open , is wet – other than that , we like it.

We LOVE this tent! There is so much space to spread out and walk around and get dressed comfortably without hunching down. We are using this tent with a 2016 Mazda CX-5 and it works great. We have been putting our bags and things in the trunk of the car and sleeping in the tent.

We did have an issue getting water in the tent through the part that goes over the car, but we just zipped up the back door next time it rained and were completely dry. Highly recommend this tent! Easy to set up and take down too.

I used it to replace the Blueox tow-bar that purchased in 1997 and used it until it wasn’t safe anymore. The new bar is being used behind my 44′ Holiday Rambler Navigator motorhome to tow my 2013 Jeep Wrangler.

Lightweight easy to install on the motorhome. Works exactly as claimed. Folds up nicely when not in use and I can lift it!

Bought to move an ATV trailer with 2 ATV’s in and out of covered storage without needing truck. Trailer weight loaded is approx 2500lbs. Set-it up and attached to trailer coupler and secured per directions.

It moved trailer back ok as long as I place an 8ft piece of plywood under Valet wheels until trailer wheels hit a lip of a 4×4 post about 1/2″ high, then it stopped and wheels spin. Used truck to push all the way back in.

Once back in, I tried to use Trailer Valet to pull it back out, and saw if it caught any resistance, like that 1/2″ lip again, it will walk out from under Class II trailer coupler and bend front edge if you try to crank it over.

(yes it was tightened up tight with spanner wrench) To make this thing work, I ended up placing concrete blocks in ground, angled to provide a small ramp over lip on both sides, as well as a runway of concrete blocks for Trailer Valet wheels to run on.

Quality seems good and great idea, just in actual practice it’s little frustrating and wondering now if I should have tried the bracket mount 5X version to avoid coupler bending.

There is a very slate grade to my blacktop driveway leading up to the garage the kind contractors intentionally set so that water runs away from your garage. Then there is about a three-quarter inch lip the concrete to the blacktop.

This unit struggled to push my 18 foot aluminum bass boat to the garage and when the wheels of the trailer got to the lip it was all over! I almost busted my hand trying to hold onto the drill the wheels just spun and I could go no further.

I probably returned this device. Maybe if my driveway and garage floors were completely level without obstruction!? But I don’t park on the pool table!.

Legit a life saver! I had my serious doubts but after fiddling around with it for a couple of minutes, it worked like a charm. I moved a 26′ Jayco Jayfut by myself over packed gravel. Simple, easy to use and an absolute must to move trailers into tight spaces.

I never leave reviews but this company deserves all the praise for coming up with such a useful product. No complaints, 5 star and would recommend very highly.

Arrived in a box – nice! Hitch had one pretty good scratch on it – no worries, touched it up right away with some Rustoleum. Install kit was intact – that’s the main problem I’ve seen with these. Watched a video on YouTube for installing a U-haul hitch (looks exactly like the Draw Tite) on my 2017 Honda CR-V, and was spot on.

Took the gal in the video about 15 mins, took me 2 hrs, but hey, I’m an amateur, don’t have a lift, used jack stands, and was operating upside down under the back of the vehicle the whole time. There’s like 6 steps involved in the install, and each has its “Challenges”.

Overall, a pretty easy install and now we’re set to haul bicycles around!.

I got this for my 2015 Outback. I actually had the dealer install it when another garage didn’t want to drill into the frame because they didn’t have the right tool. That made me do some investigating and I found another reviewer somewhere mention that this can actually be installed using the Subaru install instructions for the OEM trailer hitch.

So I took it to my subaru dealer, cost a little more to install that way. Maybe $200-250, I can’t remember exactly. But the Subaru instructions include removing the rear bumper to get to the frame, so no drilling is needed.

This seemed much better to me for the integrity of the car. Well worth the extra $100 on the install. Still, the install plus this hitch came in lower than what the originally quoted me for to have the Subaru hitch with a little 1″ receiver.

Even with the included mounting bracket, the screw holes do not line up with the mount on the vehicle. As the tow package is OEM, advertising that this is an ‘exact’ fit for my vehicle is false. In addition, even if the holes lined up, the included bolts are 5/8″ too short.

I had bought longer bolts before realizing that the holes didn’t line up. I am very dissatisfied with this blatantly false advertising.

I installed on my 2006 Chevy Avalanche. Factory plug fit perfectly. I had to drill through the bumper plate next to the license plate to install. 1 3/4″ drill bit does not allow harness plug to clear in this install format so I had to use a metal file to enlarge the hole.

Harness had four corner fastener locations and allowed a very secure connection to the bumper using the included bolt and nuts. I like that this has separate 4-point and 7-point plug openings. The weather covers are tight and functional.

Great kit, nice price, pretty easy to install with basic tools.

Great value with two different styles of trailer connectors. The connection coming from the vehicle electrical was a perfect fit to install the new unit. HOWEVER, the bracket that holds the connector housing on my Expedition did not accept the holes or mounting bracket that came with the connector.

I drilled two small holes in my existing bracket and then it was a great fit. Even with a little modification needed to mount the connector, I WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

I installed this on a 2017 Pilot Elite with full size spare tire. Installation was easy just drop the spare out of the way and install bolts that came with the Hitch. Looks good and heck of lot less expensive than the hitch that Honda has.

The wiring wasn’t to bad, just need to look at how the cargo hold down is put together. I like that the wiring is plug and play. The wiring came with everything included; the fuse under the hood, the inline fuse in the cargo area, and more than enough length for the 4 pin connector.

Curt Trailer website even has videos on how to install everything. Super Fast shipping, I ordered on Sunday and it arrived on Monday afternoon. Yes I recommend this to anyone that would like to save about $350.

Like others, my box arrived pretty beat up but the hitch was fine no dents or scratches. Installation was simple but you need to be creative on the install since the unit weighs almost 50 pounds. I used jack stands on each end then a floor jack to hold up the middle.

Notch by notch I raised the unit until it was close enough to bolt in. Be sure to torque your bolts once you’re done.

With the weight of the trailer, this product was about three inches from the ground. It was difficult torquing the bolts to 139 ft-lbs, had to use a cheater pipe and someone else. But for what I needed to do it was a great product.

The OEM one is higher off the ground and requires modifications to the bumper. Of course, if I was doing this for a living I would have bought a truck.

The quality of the hitch itself is very good. Plan on spending time to resize the shims that have to go inside the frame. Mine were too big and it took serious grinding to get them to slide inside the access holes.

Be very careful with the “fish wires”. It takes considerable patients get the bolts and shims in the proper position to pull them through the frame holes. If you lose the shim and bolts inside the frame there is no way to retrieve them.

Even the bolt heads were too large to go through the access holes. Be prepared to spend a few hours to install the hitch.

Hitch was as advertised. Price changed from $145. 00 to 169. 00. Evidently promotion expired. It was still a great deal with free shipping parnell was my phone assistant. He was great he looked for a lower price even other hitches of similar quality.

He changed my delivery address so I could receive my hitch faster. The hitch was complete and was easy to install. You need a 210 flbs torque wrench. On line install video was a great help. I recommend summit and the curt class 4 hitch.

Very well built. Not really worth a negative rating but the instructions are atrocious. Black and white, small photos and horribly blown out. Text is poorly worded. Better upclose photos in color OR computer graphics would be a lot better.

Use Curt’s website instead for instructions. Sorting through all that added quite a bit of time.

We’ve used these now for two trips towing the jeep behind the RV. Running the wiring harness thru the frame on the drivers side is not as difficult as it sounds. The lights work perfectly. This is a simple installation.

Plugs in to the existing factory wiring harness and tail lights. I’m not a fast worker so it took me two hours. Most others say it took them half that or less. No shame in my game. It’s installed the same and works perfectly.

The plug is secured to the brush guard beneath my front bumper for easy access and stays hidden from plain sight.

Simple installation! My 4 door Rubicon is a 2014 with 2 sets of plug wires under the left taillight housing. I plugged this harness into the lower pair of taillight sockets-luckily they were the correct pair for my particular vehicle.

Use a small flat-tip screwdriver to gently unplug the OEM harness sockets. If I could re-do it I’d have tested the functionality before buttoning up the taillight housings. However, the taillights are easily removed by removing the inner screws only then lift slightly and slide the housing inward -careful not to break the outer retaining tabs.

Route the wiring underneath and over to the right taillight. There is a triangular hull plug underneath that allows access to the light. Mine was covered with foam insulation but I removed it by hand.

I notched the plug to accommodate the harness then removed the light and plugged in the harness to the sockets. I also sealed the hull plug with a dab of silicone sealer. The last step is routing the harness wires forward.

There is ample length so take your time and work your way forward, careful to avoid hot spots like the exhaust and muffler. At the end, the “flat-four” plug has a weather cap included which is a nice feature.

Rather than using the supplied Vaseline I recommend dielectric grease tokeep the plug functional and serviceable. This eliminates the need for using magnetic lights when towing your rig-just plug and go (after ensuring your tow lights are functional)! Great item and I am very pleased!.

Easy to install. Eliminates the magnetic lights I’ve been using. Much more convenient. I don’t know why I didn’t do this right away for flat towing our Jeep. I waited too long.

I purchased a hitch from a national trailer/truck rental 2 1/2 years ago. After some rough paved roads, the hitch bent downward about 20 degrees. The company refused to warranty it even though the trailer was 1500 pounds and the hitch was rated 4000.

I will not rent the orange trucks in the future. J C Whitney had a good price, 10% discount and free shipping and lifetime warranty, so I purchased a Curt 13552 the Thursday before Thanksgiving hoping it would arrive before the holiday in case we went camping.

It was on my doorstep Saturday morning. 36 hours for a 50 pound oversize package. I later found out the Curt warehouse was 5 miles away, but very quick none the less. Upon opening it, I cut my hand the first time I grabbed it.

It had a gouge in it and also the paint was worn off of the ends. The ends had no protection, just loose in the box. A little bubble wrap would help. I filed smooth the gouge and found some black spray paint to touch up the ends.

It took 30 minutes to remove the old hitch and mount the new one using the old hardware. I fastened one side loosely, then used a floor jack to raise the hitch and mount the other side. I used a block of wood and a rubber mallet to tap it into position so the holes lined up.

The instructions say to lower the exhaust, but you really only need to remove the rubber hanger on the muffler and the hitch will slide up over it. With two people it would have been a breeze, but I was able to do it myself since I had done it once before.

Looks good, almost hidden when not in use. I would have given it 5 stars but for the lack of protection in packaging.

Received it, and was surprised that it was actually less cumbersome than I expected. Was equally surprised that the box was still in one piece. Looked inside to see the hitch wrapped in bubble wrap and all parts included, including spares.

Unpackaged, set it under my truck. Lifted each side up on an apple crate, so it was 8″ off the floor and ~4″ from the frame of the truck. Lined up the bolts and installed it myself, no helper, in less than ten minutes.

Four bolts, all of them fit perfectly with the pre-drilled holes in the frame. Took me longer to drag the box to the garage than to install the hitch. Would buy again.

I got this for my son for his birthday, he absolutely loved it. Said it took maybe 10/15 minutes to install. And fit his van perfect. He is very impressed. Thanks so much he will be using it a lot this year to tow his boat in the summer and his snow mobile in the winter.

Super well made, lightweight (compared to the hulking hitch I just had removed), and fit perfect. Had to drill the 3rd hole in the back towards the rear axle, but that was expected. I’m fabricating some frame stiffeners for above the hitch, so it ties the C-Channel together, but that’s for another day.

The Curt hitch was shipped quickly and arrived in good condition. It takes more than 30 minutes to install. On my 1991 F150 I had to drill six holes in the frame (3/16″ steel). Went through two 1/2′ bits and one 9/16″ bit.

Not the easiest thing to drill. Be careful where you drill the holes. Too close to the inside of the I-beam and the washer and bolt won’t go in the hole you just spent 15 minutes drilling. I had to take a grinder to the washer and bolt head to make them fit.

Lifting the hitch up so you can mark the holes is almost impossible without help. I finally measured the holes on the hitch and then marked them on the frame to drill. Measure twice, drill once. That works pretty well because the holes in the hitch are larger than they need to be, ,providing a little slop if you miss the right spot.

Be sure to use a punch to start the drill bit, so it doesn’t slip and you end up with a hole you can’t use. Overall, the hitch is very good quality and manufacture. The Suspension Connection provides very good service and appear to care about their customers experience.

Ford F150.

The hitch is a true bolt on for my 1985 F-150 4×4. All hardware is included and it is very good hardware too. The holes for the big bolts need a bigger hole then 1/2″. I did not have anything larger in my kit so I used a die grinder to enlarge the hole for the bigger 2 bolts.

Also I did not have a spare tire under the bed. Very good value. And it is very very heavy duty. Solid steel about 3/8″ thick. The center of the receiver opening was about 5″ from the bottom of my bumper.

I did not expect it to sit a little lower, but I guess this is not a factory installed hitch where the tuck them close to the bumper. Overall I am very pleased and would buy another if needed.

I’m using this tent with a 2010 Subaru Forester, and it fits great. Some small gaps between the ‘boot’ material and the surface of the car, but by design it’s just not going to have a 100% seal there.

The ‘boot’ features a stretchy elastic part that encloses the rear of the vehicle, with a second ‘extra’ flap of material that lays just inside the stretchy part to help keep out bugs and rain. I’ve never had issues with bugs getting in, even having a light on inside the tent all evening.

I’ve used this for a little over a year now and it has never once rained (I live in West Texas), so I can’t speak to its ability to keep water out, but I *can* speak to its ability to withstand heavy winds, and it does that very well.

I typically only stake it out (and secure the straps to my car) and don’t use guy lines, and it’s been fine through plenty of high plains windy nights. Adding guy lines would certainly make it even more solid.

The zippers on the windows and doors work well and I’ve had no issues with them snagging or breaking. I currently put my portable toilet in the screen room. It’s plenty private, and this way I don’t have to leave my dogs to walk to the campground facilities.

I love the screen room feature for this reason. The height of this tent makes it feel very spacious. I love the skylights, and how much air flow you can get inside. I’m a woman, and I can put up this tent by myself in about 5 minutes.

I ditched the carry bag a long time ago, only because I needed to fit this tent in my cargo box on top of my car and the only way to do that was to take everything out of the bag and place items individually in the cargo box.

This works great for my needs. I would like to get a hard-wall camper someday, but honestly this thing is pretty dang nice for a tent. I needed something affordable that would be more comfortable after adding a second dog to my pack during the pandemic, and this fits the bill.

I love that I can utilize the back of my car as well as this tent– I currently have a mattress in the back of my car and use the tent area as ‘living space. ‘ I’m thrilled with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone who can’t quite afford a camper but would like a bit more comfort than a regular tent.

Did a lot of SUV tent research. Found a few much cheaper tents but none appeared to be able to accommodate large/full-sized SUV’s like this tent. I’ve got a Suburban and it was so nice and cozy having the rear connected.

Plus the side screen porch along with the extra rain cover added extra insulation from the late evening/early morning chill. The overall construction of the tent (material, sewing, poles, straps, clips, stakes, etc) are legit.

Only time will tell if everything holds up to justify the price tag (which is definitely not cheap). But after one 3-day camping trip (with a 7 month ago btw) I’m very impressed and pleased with the product.

This rating is given by a novice tenter. Pros: The tent is lightweight and the carrier is made out of the same material as the tent. When you re-package it to fit back into the carrier I rolled over it with my body to squeeze the air out of it.

I’m sure this is common with any tent. This particular tent is 9’X9′ but it takes up more space by the time you set the stakes at each corner. We stayed adjacent to our friends’ camper so we weren’t able to attach the tent to our SUV due to the limited space we had but the tent was easy to set up without using the SUV side.

We didn’t have any substancial amount of rain (sprinkles only) so I can’t comment on how well it will hold up in a true rain. Cons: This is the design flaw. It was very disappointing the two windows not part of the SUV and door openings didn’t have an inner plastic to zip closed to help keep some of the colder night temps from coming in the tent.

I found that very odd and disappointing because it seems it would be standard to have that. This is why I only rated the tent with a 3. Other than that the tent held up to my expectations. Unfortunately, I would not buy it again or recommend to a friend since it did not have windows that could zippered to close.

I set this tent up in the yard to test set up. Because of the 3 criss cross shock pole design, your friend will come in pretty handy, as the bowing poles set the tension to keep it up and tight. The side access sleeve port to your vehicle on the right hand side is impressively large, plus it will separately close off if you want to drive away, the tent will remain.

I will stretch this sleeve side open over two passenger side suicide doors on my 2003 Silverado and it fits fine. I recommend you do a test set up and don’t wait until you are “out there” to learn. Everything comes in a carrying bag for each component and all fits into one main bag with handles.

Don’t misplace your setup directions. You’ll do fine on this. It’s pretty big with a 100 square footprint and over 7 1/2 feet high inside. Really big screened windows and seems well stitched everywhere.

The floor is large enough to host a card table and 4 chairs easily. It has a separate rain cover, removable when dry weather permits.

I searched for a fair price on a Napier truck tent for several weeks. I typed in “used” ans scored this from a dude in Georgia,who only used it ONCE,and then sold his avalanche. I got this for less than half!! I’ve been assembling by camping equipment, since then and I’m just one or two items from putting all the pieces together.

If you’re a single camper (with a dog) like me,and you just wanna get a quick getaway weekend,under your belt, then this is the ABSOLUTE best way to go. (Hint) Pre assemble your tent in the driveway.

Order shipped and delivered very fast, it fits my 2022 Tucson Hybrid Plug-in almost perfectly (had to cut a little plastic cover under rear bumper) to properly install it… took less than an hour to complete, very easy.

Looks nice when installed. Haven’t tested it with any load yet, but looks sturdy and solid. I would recommend this product.

The hitch fits perfectly. The finish on the hitch looks durable. The installation is very easy. I did mine with out a helper and only used a jack stand to hold it in place. Overall it appears to be a great product and I would recommend it.

I really tried, I wanted this to be the best thing ever. First operating it without the drill attachment is near impossible. I tried to hold up the brake while turning the crank in low and the only thing that moved was my 3rd through 5th disc’s in my back.

It’s a super ironic gift my father in law got me to help me move my trailers without beating up my back. It took 2 peoe to try and use the trailer valet and there was no steering. For interested parties my trailer was a small 12 foot trailer and it was empty maybe 1200 lbs while testing this medieval torture device.

There’s no neutral so I couldn’t even push the trailer by hand without using the hand crank. I thought you know maybe my trailer is too much for this, since I didn’t know the weight capacity at first.

Hint hint my trailer was 1/4 the rated capacity. So I Uninstalled it which is easy unless you have to do it 3 times after pulling out your back. I put it on a lighter trailer and tried again just to see this thing work.

I loathed the idea of telling my wife’s dad this awesome gift put me in bed for 3 days. I tried moving a small 500lb trailer, again empty, with this and the only thing that happened was the tires spinning.

It still didn’t move the trailer at all and again operating the brake and the crank at the same time was more than just a struggle. I had to take this back to my inlaws to find out how to return it and explain why I was walking like I’d just gotten into a losing battle with a longhorn.

Sorry guys but this totally missed the mark and I tried to come here to see videos of this thing actually working but I did not find any.

The concept is good, but function is not as good as many of the reviews. I did a lot of research and watching videos online before purchasing. This seemed liked the perfect solution to my tight turn I need to make to align into the garage with a slight uphill incline (4% slope) and a small lip at the garage door.

My boat total weight is approximately 3,500lbs-4,000lbs. To test it out, I simply pulled the boat straight out of the garage to see if it could drive it straight back in (without trying to turn yet).

It was able to move up the 4% grade, but the lip at the garage door (approximate 1/2″ was too much and stopped it). I put some sand down at the lip to create more of a ramp condition with a rubber mat over the sand to distribute the load a little more over the sand.

This created the the ramp section to be 8%. I had a smart level to determine the slopes I was getting stuck at. No luck. It got stuck and wheels just spun. I got my son to stand on the trailer hitch to see if it was the tongue weight issue and cleaned the driveway for better traction (the asphalt was not slick and it was relatively warm so my driveway is probably about as good could assume to have).

Still no luck. Just returned it back at the store, unfortunately I had to pay a 25% restocking fee, but I guess $340 returned is better than being out $450 for an oversized trailer jack. This would probably be for someone more elderly or had struggles moving their trailer due to physical condition, but I’d only recommend it if the conditions were right (ie, flat driveway or a very slight incline with excellent traction) and it was simple movements needed.

The advertising showing trailers going uphill or over lips are likely much lighter trailers. I’m an average strength male in 40’s and found this not to help. Guess I’m back to building my leg strength and/or perfecting my backing skills.

I would have gave it a one star if I wrote the review yesterday, but after a 24-hour cool down period, I guess I could see where it may be helpful for someone.

I like the Trailer Valet. However, unfortunately, it has one flaw which is how the handle is secured to to unit when not in use. The clip that holds the handle in place could be better secured. Just using a spring clip to secure it is not enough when you have the handle facing down toward the road as it comes loose and hits the pavement when you are traveling down the road.

My handle got badly damaged when it came loose. If I had turned it around and secured the wheel with the lock pin this would not have happened. I learned the hard way, unfortunately. The good thing is I think the handle will still function, hopefully, but I won’t know until I get my trailer back from the repair shop for minor repairs.

Just something for you to contemplate for improvements.

Its a great tent – we love the fact it can attach to the SUV easily but yet stand on its on, if we need to take the vehicle out and about. Its easy to assemble and the height is GREAT – very spacious.

We loved the big screen windows and the added flaps for them if needed for privacy. Also the roof screens that you can see out above if you don’t have the rain fly attached. The added shade in the front also helped in providing reprieve from the hot sun.

It was comfortable inside the tent and didn’t feel too hot from the outside heat. The whole unit bagged up is about 40lbs so pretty dense but holds a big tent. Otherwise the whole tent itself is lightweight once assembled.

Very happy with the Napier 82000 – it will be put to good use in the coming years!!!.

My experience with Sunnysports was wonderful. I had never heard of them before but the price was so much better for the tent than I saw anywhere else so I took a chance. Ordering was easy. The tent arrived in a few days.

I took it out for a debut camping trip and I loved it. It was easy to set up by myself and worked out perfectly for myself and my two dogs. Getting it rolled up and back in the bag it came in was not easy, but I am sure I will get the hang of it.

The weather was sunny when we went camping with this new SUVtent. The tent is easy to setup and attach to a Subaru Outback. Its a 2 person job. The poles are strong and the tent sturdy when fully assembled.

The tent stakes are not good and you should purchase another type that will hold the position in the ground. The ones supplied with the tent are ¼” round galvanized steel pegs with a smooth surface. They turn (rotate) when pulled and will let the lanyards slip off the hook.

I can highly recommend this SUVtent but the problem with the stakes prevents me from giving it an all star recommendation.

I received this hitch receiver on 3/6 for my 13 Toyota Sienna, and haven’t finished installation yet. The receiver was bent in shipping and I didn’t noticed it – my first time to buy and install a hitch receiver.

It costed me a few hours to figure out what’s wrong. After calling Curt, John told me how to bend it which I did, but still I can’t put the last bolt into the hole on the frame. I called three more times and I was told to clean the rust of the hole with penetrated oil and re-structured the thread with a tap!!!!!!! How could I know all of these??? And it’s pretty new when I uncovered the plastic which covered the holes on the frame.

I was fooled by the video taken by the dealer. So you’d better check your vehicle and/or have someone install it for you.

I received the trailer hitch which I ordered from Summit in about 3 days. The Curt 13240 trailer hitch fit my 2019 Hyundai Tucson perfectly. The Class lll hitch has an eight bolt connection to the rear frame.

The tail exhaust pipes on the rear passenger side will need to be lowered in order to slide the hitch over both tail pipes, easy to lower after sliding the rubber muffler hanger off the hanger pin. Looks great, very good quality paint on the hitch.

Took about an hour to install by myself.

2021 Rav 4 Hybrid Receiver The receiver cam undamaged to our house, box still intact. Upon opening box the receiver hitch was well protected, and hardware found taped and sealed in a bag inside 2″ receiver tube.

(incase box had been opened the hardware would have still been there) Installing the receiver was extremely easy, i did not read the instructions as i had already watched many videos on youtube on how to install the hitch.

I installed the hitch by myself in 30 min start to finish. I did drop the muffler to aid in clearance of installation, however no other part of Rav4 hybrid needed to be removed (only small tape pieces covering mounting holes).

I left car sitting on its tires in garage and held trailer hitch undercar with jack stands, and once all 4 bolts started i verified no play in hitch then tightened all with regular wrench. (you can use socket on one side and open claw adapter on other however it wasn’t worth the time to pull out of tool box for simple install) Hitch is low but that is what is expected with aftermarket receivers on any small suv.

however it does hold a hitch carrier high enough off ground that you could drive around town without dragging. (this is when car was empty and 200lbs of me standing ontop of hitch carrier jumping up and down).

All in all iam extremely happy with the price and the appearance as you don’t see anything except for 2″ receiver. Only thing i performed extra was to place aluminum tape and duct tape over top of the 2″receiver on the forward location of 2″ receiver hitch to prevent rocks and grime from entering interior of hitch when installed.

I’ve yet to tow trailer however i have no concerns with the hitch and the mounting.

Fits 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid XLE. Best to use a floor jack to support / lift the hitch in place. Remove stickers from both sides and clean with WD40. Then was able to balance / fish the hitch in place without moving the exhaust.

Put in the four bolts and got the hitch installed in less than an hour by myself (not a mechanic). If you have a 2020 RAV4 this is the hitch to get.

Easy installation on hitch. 4 bolts and done make sure you have torque wrench. Wire harness took a bit of time. Ran wires in side car. Very nice products. Pleased with my purchased and was shipped fast!.

The hitch was not as easy to install as I thought it would be based on the description and reviewer feedback. I had to go to my mechanic and he put the car on a lift (something I do not have), and had to drop the mufflers and drill out the holes in order to properly mount the hitch.

Re-attaching the mufflers required new gaskets and bolts (added expense). Having the right equipment made the installation a no-brainer for him. Not something I would recommend for the 60+ crowd.

Two challenges for this installation: 1. The instructions are misleading as to which holes in the frame rails need to be increased in diameter. I followed the instructions but the rear hole did not need to be opened as the hitch doesn’t mount to it.

2. Lying on your back on your garage floor and trying to fit the hitch onto the exposed bolts is tricky. Otherwise, the installation is easy and the hitch works fine. It was certainly a bargain compared to several alternatives I considered.

This is the first Curt product I have purchased. It is well designed and came with great instructions and plenty of mounting hardware. It was very easy to install on my camper. I am very pleased with it.

Also Summit delivered it quickly.

Hitch worked and fit great with a little modification. Kit has adequate hardware included. The fishing wire worked great. Finish is also great. No more extra trip to the campground to get the cart up!

Works and fits as designed better to have an extra preson for install but can be done alone. Great quality best price
