Pine Ridge Wishbone Dampener – Lime Green 4 Pk.
Reduce noise and vibration on your bow’s string and cables
The Wishbone String Cable Dampeners will make a noticeable reduction of noise and vibration on your bows string and cables. These easy-to-install dampeners do not require a bow press, so anyone can quickly add a set to their bow and instantly quiet their setup.
At 14 grains each, the Wishbone will not slow your bow down, and in fact, can help increase speed. Comes in a pack of four dampeners.
I shoot longbows and have used many different types over the years. Had otter fur puffs last year, however, heard how much they slow the bow string down when wet. I think they recommended those rubber spider looking things, but I opted for these.
A little tricky to put on but not bad at all. Do they work? Heck yah! Dropped sound to almost nothing. Heck, squirrels even run across top top of my fence (And Target) as I’m practicing!.
So, after spending quite a while trying to get these one with no success, I did some research. If you stretch out the head hole some with pliers, they go on in seconds. Don’t stretch it too much or I could see it breaking.
I just used some pliers to loosen it up some then they went right on. Will go shoot it tomorrow to see how they do.
These are amazing!! Super easy to install and they work. I noticed a big difference right away, just install so that they face away from the bow and no problems with staying on the string. I love the fact that I do not need a bow press and will order another package just for in the field repairs.
Years ago these were easier to find – not sure why, but you really have to look to find these now. The ‘puffiness’ is what makes these work so well as that’s what cuts the down the noise. The strips of fur are cut about 7/16″ wide and are about 4-1/4″ long.
The width is a bit too wide for my liking – I recommend cutting them so the strip is 1/4″ wide – it makes it easier to wrap and remain on the string. And, buying a second set allows for two strips on each end of the bow string making it a very effective string silencer! I’d have given this 5-stars if I hadn’t had to cut the strip to what I think is a more optimal width.
But I recommend this product over wool or rubber silencers.
These beaver fur silencers are the best quality “balls” that I have used! I use them on my longbow to suppress string noise. I hunted in the rain yesterday, and they held their shape while repelling water.
The Bowjax Ultrajax String Silencer has been Bowjax’ s most popular model with bow companies and consumers for the past two years. It’s been a top seller because of its effectiveness and ease of use.
Simply put the Ultrajax on the string and use the supplied plastic ties or your own string material to cinch string silencer to the string, to effectively dampen the oscillation that occurs after the shot.
For compound bow users that are looking for even more dampening ability, attach an Ultrajax to your cable.
These bowjax make a clapping sound when used on my bow. Directions were followed to the letter but the noise level (and vibration) proved to be unacceptable. Might be better on trad bow or recurve but useless on my compound bow (elite ritual).
Easily installed on bow. Works great quietens bow as well as any string silencer I’ve ever used. Best of all saves trip to the bow shop & the cost of installing.
EXCELLENT PRODUCT. THEY WORK,THEY LAST, THEIR SUPER SIMPLE AND EASY TO INSTALL. THE ONLY TOOLS NEEDED ARE A PAIR OF SCISSORS TO TRIM THE EXCESS ZIP TIES AND A PAIR OF PLIERS TO TIGHTEN THE UP. NO BOW PRESS REQUIRED.
The do-it-yourself string and cable damping system. No bow press needed and installs in seconds. Four Monkey Tails equates to a minimal speed loss of 1-2 fps total with virtually all string and cable sound and vibration eliminated.
Recently purchased and have been using on my Mathews bow now. So far they are very durable. While I do not have a decibal meter to monitor sound attenuation, I can say they have reduced string noise to my ear.
Therefore, I do recommend them. However, they (Mathews and Zebra) are slightly more expensive than other products available.
Designed to fit into a soft bow case pocket, the Compact Arrow Case holds 18 to 24 full length arrows with broadheads, (which are held in place by foam). The case is held shut with MTM’s snap-lock latch system.
Hinges are made of stainless steel. Two padlock tabs are provided for security. Made with luggage grade, polypropylene for longevity.
A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++/ these seem to outlast other silencers by numerous shots and are easily installed
This fine product from Limbsaver gives you the extra edge you need with your outdoor recreation. Made of extremely durable materials, this product is made to last the tests of time, use and everyday wear and tear.
This is a total gimmick! 1. The description says TenPoint but that’s not on the package and I had to zip tie them in place to fit. 2. Crossbows have to go in a bow press to install string silencers. $26 at local archery shop.
3. It flew off and was lost the next time I shot my bow. 4. After further research, crossbows can’t be silenced like a compound. Just save your money!!.
I purchased these limb savers a little over a week ago and just put them on my Bear. I LOVE THEM! I was really surprised at the difference it made when my arrow left my bow. That tedious ping sound was no longer there, and now my Bear is quieter than ever.
I honestly see these helping eliminate the “arrow ducking” that all white-tails are notorious for. Will definitely be recommending these to all of my friends!.
I bought limbsavers to replace a lost one. I did not realize my bow was so “noisy” with out the vibration dampener until I installed one. Very pleased with purchase and product.
Cat Whisker bow string silencers have been one of the most popular silencers with bowhunters for decades. Lightweight rubber silencers attach easily to your bow string and do an excellent job reducing noise with little to no performance reduction.
All-rubber construction is 100% waterproof. Sold by the pair. Trim to your desired look. Recommended to use serving material to tie in place for a more uniform look. Available in Bright Green, Brown, Black, and Hunter Green.
These are low cost, easy to intall, and considering what they are, they work excellently. They work very well in stopping the noise of just about any string. It is very satisfying hitting the range with my longbow and having others comment on just how unexpectedly quiet it is.
Are there better string silencers out there that are all natural material and really look awesome on a traditional rig (especially for those of you who want as traditional and primitive a kit as possible)? Sure.
Will those other more expensive silencers work as well in all weather? Nope. So if working well all the time is more important to you than how something looks, get these. I’ve had musk ox and otter fur silencers and they are great (and look fantastic on a traditional bow) but in misting/rainy weather they get sodden and stop working as well.
And the natural materials snag branches and twigs and seem to pick up every burr in the woods. That just doesn’t happen with these rubber cat whiskers. For the price, it just doesn’t get any better.
I used this on old 47# recurve that uses a Dacron string. I also used the brush buttons (which are a very good product). In combination with the buttons and whiskers, this really quieted down the bow.
I can now hear the arrow flying along (My next stealth project is to work on making the arrow guieter). Does not affect arrow speed and least from what I can tell. I tried the tie-on method described in video (tying the Cat Whisker around the string didn’t work for me).
I took some serving from an old string and tied it on with that. This has held very well. I have shot with it on the string a couple of hundred times and I do not see wear on the Cat Whiskers yet. Works great in the rain, does not soak up water like other products.
My install does not look like the picture (not as pretty), yet it functions as described.
Got a set of these for an inexpensive take down recurve. Didn’t want to put big money out tricking out a cheap bow. My expectations weren’t super high when I was buying them, I just wanted something to help out a bit with the noise I was getting off the string.
I’d used them before on compound bows so knew they worked, just wasn’t sure how well they’d work on traditional bows. Much to my surprise though they worked quite well in helping eliminate string twang.
They’re super easy to install too, no need to take the string off the bow. just tie them on. They can creep a little up an down the string so just keep an eye on that. If ya get too worried about it you can tie a little serving on both sides to hold it in place.
Recurve stringer with cordura limp cup on one end and rubber limb pad on the other. Aids in stringing the bow without twisting limbs. For bows up to 66 inch and 75 lbs.
Excellent recurve stringer. My favorite style. Made in Montana USA. Make sure you order the correct stringer. If you have a recurve order for recurve. Selway limbsavers makes a model for each style.
Anyone who strings a recurve or longbow–should absolutely get this bow stinger. In the old days, I put my leg through the limbs like most everyone. I am sure that there were lots of twisted limbs because of this this technique.
Selway Bow Stinger is wonderful! I think it is very well made and more sturdy than others on the market. No matter the bow poundage or skill level of archer–you can easily and safety string your bow.
OK, I’ve been out of archery for several years now but when I ordered my bow I thought it came with a stringer, however I found it didn’t. Since I’m overseas in Afghanistan I made a temporary stringer the old fashioned way using some 550 cord and then ordered this one for a long term solution.
It turns out this new design isn’t as good as the old way I’m used to. The old way is to have a small pocket on the tip of the bow that doesn’t cover the string notch so that you can slide the string into the notch.
This stringer has a rubber foot that sits on the limb below the string which means much more force is needed to bend the bow as the stringer is a good 6 inches from the tip. I do like the pouch end (where the string stays attached to the bow) and have used it on my old handmade stringer so all is not lost.
Last comment, the knot tying skills of whoever manufactured this stringer leave a lot to be desired. One overhand stopper knot inside one overhand knot does not make a solid connection that I would trust with my bow.
I could not in good conscience recommend this stringer to anyone.
Featuring micro-adjustable dampening rods with durable, high impact rubber dampeners the SDS mounts in the cable slot to dramatically reduce string noise and oscillation. Compatible with most TenPoint crossbows, including Titan M1 and Turbo M1, All pre-2015 Wicked Ridge crossbows, All Raider CLS and Warrior HL models and Horton Legend Ultra Lite.
Not compatible with RDX or NXT crossbows, RCX crossbows with built-in dampeners or Wicked Ridge Invader X4, Invader G3, Warrior Ultra-Lite, Warrior G3, Ranger or Lady Ranger models.
This product is advertised as working on all TenPoint products, minus a few which are listed in the product description. The Woodsman 360 is not listed as an exclusion so it would seem safe to assume that this SDS would work on that product, but is does not.
Since I wasn’t able to use this product I can’t give a review of it’s function but I will say that I was generally impressed with the build quality of the product, except for the plastic caps that go on the mounting bracket.
These are an obvious weak point and I wouldn’t feel great about having structural plastic components.
Received the SDS. Easy to install and adjust on my Wicked Ridge M-370. It worked like a charm. Quieted things down a lot. It even allowed me to fine tune my shots better. Highly Recommend this Dampner system to those Xbows it will fit.
This product is high quality and very well constructed. I modified it to fit my Barnett Ghost 410. I did not use the adapter brackets that were enclosed. These adapter brackets are for various years if installing on the Ten Point crossbow.
As per instructions, I had to remove the rubber stop and cut at the groove in order to install the rod section. Installed and with the rods fully wound in, I have no gap between the string and rubber stop when the crossbow is at rest.
Mounted on a Ten Point one may be able to set a fine gap??? Shooting in my shop, with or with out the rubber stops installed, and using several different weight arrows, I did not notice any major difference in decibel reading when testing with a digital decibel meter.
Setting the meter at the crossbow and then moving a distance from the crossbow, yes there was a difference as the farther from the crossbow the lower the reading. The Barnett Ghost 410 is a very load shooting crossbow to begin with.
I would recommend the Ten Point SDS String Dampening System as a high quality product, but would not recommend it for this brand and series of crossbow.
Ideal for today’s synthetic bowstrings, the Titan Compound & Recurve Bowstring Wax helps lengthen your strings life by reducing fraying and protecting your string from dust, dirt, and moisture. The wax melts in nicely, is smooth, and any excess easily wipes away.
All string wax is basically the same. The only difference is price and quantity you receive. This wax is a bit pricey compared to others. The quantity is about average.
While researching Bow String Wax I found that some Bow String Waxes contain natural components that over time will cause the strings fibers to break down. I chose The Allen No 674 because I did not find those components had been added to the wax.
SKU 9430370-Crossbow TwistLox, designed for split-limb crossbows, are made durable to withstand the extreme torque and power from high-powered crossbows. TwistLox Crossbow Limb Dampeners are configured and tuned to specifically suppress the magnitude of vibration from crossbows.
They reduce up to 50% of vibration as well as noise from the limbs, giving you a noticeably smoother and quieter shot.
Ive tried absolutely every other limb dampeners on the market, including the ones made by bow manufacturers, and these are by FAR the only ones that provided a highly noticeable difference in vibration on my PSE Decree.
I will buy more for my other bows. Worth every penny.
Like all Limbsaver products this is first rate quality. Easy installation and helps dampen vibration/sound on my crossbow. This is the second time I purchased this and now have them on both my crossbows.
Fits perfectly on my whitetail hunter str quick and easy to put on. Take all the vibration from the slit limbs, making the bow even quieter than before.
Private labeled exclusively for TenPoint by Bowjax, Inc. The noise dampening packages progressively reduce decibel level and shorten noise duration when used on compound crossbows and/or vertical bows.
Two versions are available. Compatible with: All TenPoint crossbows 2011 & newer (except solid limb models) / All Horton Crossbow Innovations crossbows / All Wicked Ridge crossbows 2012 & Newer.
I purchased a Ten Point VIPER S400 which is a loud bow. I bought one set of limb dampeners which bought sound level down. Bow was still loud I purchased a second set of dampeners and installed them. With two sets of dampeners bow is still on the loud side compared to other brands.
The second set bought sound level down to a level I can live with. Speed test showed I lost a average of 4 FPS.
Fair product but no noticeable dampening with noise. Limb silencing tabs don’t fit the limbs on the Vengent, too loose between the limbs and slides all the way forward to the limb pocket not allowing proper dampening.
disappointed in the “universal” fit in the description, it’s definitely not universal fit. Centers need to be thicker to fit the wider gap in these limbs.
Great product as far as reducing noise on a crossbow. However I could not use the stirrup silencers as intended as it is a solid ring on my bow so the silencers could not be slipped on. I put in slit in them to enable me to attach them and taped them on.
This did work fine and helped to reduce the noise even more.
SlimJax limb dampeners are designed to be used on thin limb recurve and longbows. They have four flexible arms that attach to your limbs to absorb excess noise and vibration. An extremely effective limb silencer system.
Lightweight to not hurt bow performance. Available in black and olive. Please specify.
Applied to limbs of hybrid takedown long bow 62″ / 40 draw weight at 28″ , bamboo core limbs . work good . Bow less loud then before and zero vibrations felt on release . Good product .
Extend the life of your bow by increasing stability and shock absorption. Simply seat the Ravin Limb Dampeners between the limbs next to the riser pockets. This quick and easy installation gives you a quieter, smoother shot in just a few seconds.
The product was fairly easy to install. Good quality. I really couldn’t tell a real difference in the noise level. But at 65 yrs of age, my hearing isn’t the best in the world. However, at the speed this bow is producing, I doubt a deer will care about the noise.
After shooting my new Ravin crossbow a few times I installed these dampeners. Believe it or not they DID make a difference. Most of the shot vibration was gone and it was quieter. Happy I bought them!
Product fits snugly between limbs and quitens my Ravin crossbow down somewhat. It won’t make it completely silent because a tremendous amount of energy is stored in the limbs.
The re-designed String Decelerator Kit from LimbSaver uses a progressive resistance pillar to slow your bow string to a stop, minimizing slapping noise. The string decelerator also helps prevent your wrists from getting slapped when you shoot.
This kit includes the string decelerator, plus cable rod, mounting brackets, and clamp. The universal mounting system fits most bows and mounts to the front or rear stabilizer accessory holes, while allowing you to still use your current stabilizer.
String Decelerator Nodes are designed to fit all 3/8-inch cable rods. It’s made from LimbSaver’s proprietary NAVCOM technology (Noise and Vibration Control Material), which effectively absorbs a wide range of frequencies to dissipate energy and vibration.
LimbSaver’s string decelerator nodes are designed to fit all 3/8-inch cable rods. Quick and easy to install, it’s durably built to be used outdoors in harsh environments. Using state-of-the-art technologies, LimbSaver produces highly effective noise- and vibration-dampening products for archery and firearm products, including bow stabilizers, recoil pads, rifle slings, and more.
Proudly engineered and hand-made in the USA, LimbSaver products are widely used by outdoor enthusiasts, military, law enforcement, and more.
First of all I noticed that a lot of the high end bows come with a string stop already installed. So I did my homework and found the Limbsaver decelerator had good reviews. I tested my Mathews Monster 6.
0 bow and it had a definite twang upon release of the string which I didn’t want when hunting for deer. I watched a YouTube video on how to install the decelerator, I then determined the length I needed and cut the arm to size.
Leaving some length for adjustment. What’s nice about the Limbsaver decelerator is you can mount in on the front of your bow behind your counter weight or on the back. Tried my bow the next night and it was silent, no noise at all.
The only noise I heard was the sound of my arrow penetrating the target. My bow is now ready for archery season this fall. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to make their bow at quiet as possible.
If you don’t have a Limbsaver decelerator get one, you won’t be disappointed.
The string decelerator certainly had an effect quieting my shots. Not sure it was a major effect, but I was able to shoot a deer that did not jump at the sound of the bow, so a very good shot placement, with quick recovery of the animal.
Recurve stringer with cordura limp cup on one end and rubber limb pad on the other. Aids in stringing the bow without twisting limbs. For bows up to 66 inch and 75 lbs.
I saw the videos on using the bow stringer with recurves. And I saw the comments that bow stringers slip with long bows. Even though this was off putting, I chalked it up to user error and bought it anyway.
Sure enough, the bow stringer works just fine with a longbow. I have no idea what the negative slipping comments refer to.
I have a 64″ longbow. I’m about 5’9″. Maybe I was doing something wrong but I could not get the bow strung at all. Managed to string and unstring it once. Couldn’t string it the second time, the string would keep sliding under the block no matter what I did.
The block slipped out from the bow, and the limb came back up and grazed the side of my head. That’s when I gave up. A bow stringer is not for me. Sent the stringer back, I’m not risking a second time.
I use the step through method, which I can do successfully after a lot of practice.
Update your trusty older model Excalibur crossbow with the new “S5” string shock and sound suppression system. The “S5” attaches quick and easy to mounting holes in the riser of all 2004 or newer Excalibur Crossbows.
This innovative accessory will work either in conjunction with Excalibur’s dissipater bar system or on its own to quiet shot noise and reduce vibration. Excalibur has used a combination of modern vibration reduction technology and common sense thinking to produce the most durable and effective shock and sound reduction possible.
Bought these under the impression they would actually suppress some noise from my Excalibur Ibex. They are essentially useless and do absolutely nothing to reduce the noise or vibration as far as I can tell.
Bow is still ridiculously loud. It didn’t even change the tone. Next I’m going to try adding rubber bands to the string and after that probably the Bowjax 1030 Solid Limb Crossbow Kit as these seem to be the only real solutions to crossbow noise and vibration.
Also a good quality flemish string should help with noise and vibes.
I have an Excalibur Phoenix. I had a STS aftermarket string stopper installed on it after excalibur came out with their version I figured if it was produced by excalibur it must be a great product. So I removed my old STS and installed the S5.
All I can say is WOW. The sound level of my bow is much improved. It is now just a dull thud. Crossbows will never be silent but this is about as close as it gets. Once again Excalibur has amazed me with their Quality.
these work great. if you shoot am Excalibur, these are almost a necessity. there are multiple benefits. however, for 2 small aluminum pieces with rubber tips they are high priced. my suggestion would be look hard at an Excalibur model they are included with.

So I bought an SAS rage but post purchase I read reviews about the rage being noisy full of vibration and after shooting 50-60 arrows I found that yeah, its noisy. Found these limb savers and did very little research , I was convinced pretty quick, and bought them, low and behold at least 2/3 of the vibration and noise was gone.
They are well made and work as described. Plus every review on YouTube was glowing. Thanks for saving my hunting season!.
Ive used Limbsavers to quite limb vibration and speed up shot recovery for about 15 years now, during that time the product has continually evolved – from a simple mushroom shape to the increasingly more complex.
The broadbands are a little wider and maybe a little shorter than the older styles. Also, there is a similar looking but smaller one piece recurve version available too. Although I have not used them on compound bows, overall I think they work great for traditional bows and ILF limbs and limbsavers products seem to get better with each new design.
Also you can can remove or replace the circular band part if needed.
Have an old bow with solid limbs that needed new limbsavers as the others were 12+ years old. I put new ones on and after about 30 arrows the rubber head on one separated from the adhesive pad. 15 arrows later the other rubber head separated the same way.
They really need to put more or a higher quality of glue on these. My old ones had thousands of arrows, the brand new ones made it less than 50. They are inexpensive so instead of returning them I will try and put glue on myself and see if that will work.
Quiet your bow with the best limb dampeners and string silencers on the market. This Broadband/Everlast String Leech combo is sure to deaden limb vibration and noise and reduce string oscillation. The Broadband LimbSavers are engineered to reduce up to 70 percent of vibration at multi-frequency levels.
They are designed to function over a broadband frequency range of 20 Hz — 20,000 Hz. The combination of the NAVCOM ring and center dampener, produce the broadest frequency response of any limb dampener ever produced, period! Everlast String Leeches quiet your strings by rapidly stopping string oscillation.
Durability is no longer an issue! They are designed to give you both unparalleled performance and unsurpassed durability. This product is designed to exceed your expectations of performance and will last shot after shot.
Its on the thick side. It must be tied in after installing it. The string separates to a point that it will fall back out when you fire the bow. Its did help quit my bow!! It’s well worth installing ! I had it installed on my 2017 Hoyt Carbon Defint 34.
I had/have the super string leeches on my string but wanted to spice up my bow with these. After replacing the super string leeches with everlasts, I noticed a SIGNIFICANT increase in noise. So, I re-installed my original super string leeches (which work great) and put these on my cables.
Nice colors but do NOT reduced noise as well as the super string leeches.
After 10 shots with 175# draw weight crossbow they broke apart! They aren’t strong enough for crossbow use. Maybe stand up for compound use. Price was great, only if they held up I would have given 5 stars.
Best String Silencers For Compound Bow Buying Guides
What are string silencers for compound bows?
String silencers are devices that are attached to the string of a compound bow in order to reduce the amount of noise that the bow makes when it is fired. There are a variety of different types of string silencers available on the market, and they are typically made from materials such as rubber, foam, or fabric.
Some string silencers are also equipped with a weight or mass that helps to dampen the vibration of the bowstring, further reducing the amount of noise that is produced.
How do they work?
String silencers are used to reduce the noise made by the string when the bow is fired. They work by absorbing the vibrations of the string, which in turn reduces the noise that is made. There are a variety of string silencers available on the market, and they can be made from a variety of materials, such as rubber, foam, or even hair.
What are the benefits of using them?
There are many benefits of using string silencers for compound bows. The main benefit is that they help to reduce noise when the bow is fired. This is important for hunters who want to remain undetected while hunting game.
Additionally, string silencers can help to improve the accuracy of the bow by reducing vibration.
How to choose the right string silencer for your compound bow?
In order to choose the right silencer for your bow, you will need to take into account the weight of your bow, the type of string you have, and the length of your arrow. The heavier the bow, the more important it is to choose a silencer that is specifically designed for that weight.
For example, a silencer that is too light may cause the bow to vibrate more, which can lead to decreased accuracy. The type of string you have will also affect the silencer you choose. If you have a braided string, you will need a silencer that can grip the string tightly without damaging it.
If you have a synthetic string, you will need a silencer that is soft enough to not damage the string but also firm enough to grip it securely. The length of your arrow will also affect the silencer you choose.
A shorter arrow will require a shorter silencer so that it does not affect the balance of the arrow. A longer arrow will require a longer silencer so that it does not get in the way when you are shooting.
How to install string silencers on your compound bow?
To install string silencers on your compound bow, first locate the string suppressor mounting holes on the bow. There are typically two holes located near the top of the bow, on either side of the string.
Once you have located the holes, insert the string silencers into the holes. Make sure that the string silencers are facing the correct direction, so that they will properly dampen the vibration of the string when the bow is fired.
Finally, use a small Allen wrench to tighten the set screws that hold the string silencers in place.
What are the different types of string silencers?
strings
There are several types of string silencers for compound bows. The most common type is the rubber stopper, which is a small rubber plug that fits over the end of the string. This type of silencer is effective at dampening vibration and noise, but it can also cause the string to wear out more quickly.
Other types of silencers include the self-adhesive type, which is a strip of material that you adhere to the string, and the braided type, which is a length of braided cord that wraps around the string.
How do you care for your string silencers?
To care for your string silencers, you will need to clean them regularly and inspect them for wear. You can clean your string silencers with a soft cloth and mild soap. Inspect them for fraying or wear and replace them if necessary.
