20 Best Store Bought Baked Potato Soul (2023 Updated)

I ordered Lays baked chips, and on the box, I received on 11/9/21. The expiration date was 12/28/21. I only have one month, 6weeks, before the expiration date on 30 items!! Where these chips, setting in your warehouse for a long time, before shipping them to me?.

Love these things, feeds a large crowd for a great price. Great variety of items to choose from so its a real crowd pleaser. Can find at most any grocery store, I’ve seen different varieties everywhere, but I normally get them from Walmart.

Would definitely purchase again!.

I like the fact that a baked variety pack is offered. It would be even better if more bags came in the pack (35-45 bags). This way more Cheetos popcorn could be added. Most people tend to go for those specific snacks.

I would also like it if more baked varieties were offered like doritos, fritos munchos.

I enjoy soup every now and again. It’s a thick stew or chowder soup consistency which I do like. Particularly in winter when I’m looking for something to help warm me up more than anything. Potatoes still have some shape and texture rather than just being half dissolved blobs or flat out nonexistent.

It’s not a perfect soup though, something about it doesn’t strike me as home made in any sense. That doesn’t off put me all that much though from buying it again. Maybe more nostalgia than anything since my family grew up on Campbells.

I saw this soup on the shelf, and it seemed like it would be good, since I’ve had other Campbell’s Chunky soups and loved them; however, I soon realised that buying this soup was a mistake. I opened the can, and it had the consistency of moist cat food; did not look appealing at all, but I figured cooking it would make it better.

No. Not only did it make an absolute mess of my microwave, but after cooking it for 3 minutes in my 1000 watt microwave, the steak chunks were still red and appeared uncooked. The mere smell of this “soup” turned my stomach, and my better judgement told me not to eat it.

I ended up dumping the entire thing in the trash.

It would seam one could eat the soup directly from the can without doctoring it up, but that wasn’t to be in my experience. I heated the soup in a ceramic dish in the microwave then poured some into a bowl only to taste a heavy metallic flavor.

The soup tastes like what I think the can would taste like. As for the broccoli – I’m wondering where it is? I didn’t find any broccoli. I added saltiness crackers to my bowl of soup, and those taste just fine – just like saltines should taste like, so it cannot be my taste buds.

This soup is horrid, but yummy if you enjoy the flavor of tin cans!.

I loooooooove this soup alot!! It has a good amount of protein tastes good. It’s super super easy to make literally only takes a few minutes with so little prep time. It’s overall a really good quality product tastes amazing (not tinny- like some other canned foods).

This Campbell’s soup is amazing!!! Its great quality well canned, unlike some other canned food brands. There is no tinny taste it stays good forever. The soup itself always tastes amazing is a super good recipe.

It’s also super easy to make with very little prepping. I highly recommend buying this product.

Quick and easy to make. Just add water and pop it in the microwave. Taste good too. Was using the packages and ended up throwing some out cause took so long for a single person to eat. Was so glad when I found these potatoes.

Need something quick, fast and in a hurry? This legit microwaves in a couple of minutes and all you have to do is add water. My fiancé and I love these. I was skeptical that once microwaved it would taste like cardboard.

The 4 cheese one tastes great. I do add my own seasonings and extra butter. They also don’t go bad quickly. Which is always a plus.

I absolutely LOVE all flavors of these little mashed potato cups. They provide the perfect amount for an individual side and require just water and a microwave. I used to eat these almost daily because they were quick and easy and went well with grilled chicken.

In my opinion, there’s nothing to dislike about Idahoan Creamy Potato Hearty Soup! It’s extremely easy and fast to make, very flavorful, and the texture is perfect when prepared as directed. The only ingredient you need to add is water – that’s it! The soup does lend itself well to having additional ingredients added, depending on your personal taste.

But I don’t typically add anything at all. It’s very satisfying and filling. One package works for two people for a meal if you add crackers, fresh home-baked bread, or a salad on the side. I haven’t tried the au gratin or loaded potato version because I’m quite happy with this one just as it is! If you’re on a tight budget like me, add some fresh broccoli, and one package fills me for an entire day.

If you like potato soup, this is a winner!.

I didn’t expect this to turn into a great tasting soup, but it is! Easy to make. Just add package to 4 cups of boiling water, stir in to mix well. Stir during 5 minute cooking time. Remove from heat and wait 5 to 10 minutes.

Ready to eat! One note: be sure to massage contents of package before opening so as to break up any lumps. It’d make the soup even better.

This is extremely easy to make. In less than 10 minutes, with just the soup and water, heated to a boil and mixed well, there’s easily enough to soup for two people to make a big meal of, or for a soup course for three adults.

It’s really as good as any I’ve had out. It’s very cheesy with bits of broccoli. My family loves it. I cook almost everything from scratch, so it’s nice for me when we have this, the family doesn’t mind at all, and it’s a good break for me.

Sour cream and onion chips have become my go to but these disappoint. When I opened it and took my first chip all could taste was the salt in them. These are way too salty for my personal taste. The crunch is good tho!.

Salt and Vinegar chips are the kind of chips that you either love or hate. I honestly LOVE salt and vinegar chips, I like to have my face twist up as I am met with the vinegar and I love the small pain of deliciousness that comes from eating them.

Herr’s is my favorite brand of salt and vinegar potato chips it has a lot of vinegar and salt and will leave your mouth dry and sore. I know, I know- that’s strange why would I want to eat a chip that does that- but like I said I think it’s an acquired taste.

If you love salt and vinegar chips I think you will love Herr’s take on the flavor.

Salt and Vinegar has always been my favorite chip flavor but Herr’s is by far the most delicious I’ve ever had. The flavor is strong (like, “I think this took a layer off of my tongue” strong) and it has just the right balance between salty + sour unlike a lot of Salt and Vinegar chips that are a bit weak in one way or the other.

Herr’s chips are also really inexpensive which is a bonus, but the nutrition info doesn’t make it a good every-day snack which isn’t.

My family loves these scalloped potatoes and I do too!! They are easy to fix and a great side dish!! I’ve even added a little hamburger to them and that was supper.

This is my go-to side for family events! I always make this on Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc because it goes so well with any kind of food. Everyone loves how cheesy and creamy it tastes and they’re always surprised when I tell them it’s not home made!.

I have never cared for boxed potatoes, but these are very good. I added some colby cheese to the top before baking, which enhanced the flavor.

This combo could not be better. I love the salt and vinegar and how it makes your lips purse. That with the fact that these are baked make them the perfect chip. Sometimes I put them in the middle of my sandwiches!.

When I can find them Original Baked Lays Crisps, I have to buy multiple bags (like a dozen) because they are nowhere to be found in the High Desert in California. How is it that such a high demand product is always on “back order’ and “rarely in stock”? This is not a supply chain issue; this is a production issue.

Lays please get smarter about increasing the size of your production runs and distribution channel; The “regular” are undigestable for many of us, and the Original Baked Chips are a life saver. Below your question is: would I recommend to a friend? I will answer NO, due to the completion for scarce resources.

I don’t ever purchase on line. May 20 2022 no Orignal Baked Lays Chips to be found in Stater Bros, Walmart, Costco, Food4Less, Vons, etc. I could be really absurd and go to Subway Sandwich at 1. 59 for an ounce, but this is an untenable price/performance solution.

Best price/performance chips Original Lays Oven Baked 11. 5 oz bag were at Costco: $3. 99; this size bag should be stocked in all major grocery chains at that price. Right now, no chips to be found anywhere.

I don’t do Kettle Cooked – too much undigestable oil.

I ordered 5 bags of the Lays BAKED potato chips (original) which, as it says on the bag, are GF (gluten-free). Target had to go down to NJ to get these; very hard to find. After a week of waiting, I got 5 bags.

2 bags were 50% crumbs and 2 other bags were the Kettle Cooked (bag looks exactly the same as the Baked) which are not GF. I can NOT find the Baked Lays in ANY stores, let alone Target.

I liked the fact that these potato flakes had no additives. only dehydrated potatoes flakes. However, when I followed the package directions exactly for mashed potatoes the end product was was very liquid.

not even close to “scoopable”. They were more like slightly thickened gravy. Remember I follow the package directions exactly, allowing the few minutes that were supposed to be needed to form a mashed potato consistency.

Didn’t Happen. so after waiting 6-7 minutes I added another 1/4th cup of he flakes and again waited the appropriate time. They remained too soupy to scoop. I kept adding small amounts of the flakes and waiting again for them to thicken.

Finally they thickened enough to be slightly scoopable. The added flakes also decreased the servings/ bag. At the end of our family dinner most of the potatoes remained in the bowl. So the next day I made a decent tasting cheesy potato soup by adding spices, a few cubed potatoes and cheese.

I’m not exactly sure why ANYONE likes these or how they have almost constant five star reviews. They taste horrible. They turn into silly putty. I think it’s great that there are no additives but I’m not sure what kind of potato they actually dehydrate.

I see comments about people using it to thicken their soups! It would RUIN a soup. Truly terrible product.

I love the baked lays by Frito-Lay. I can’t even remember when the last time I purchased regular potato chips. I always purchase the baked regular lays or the ruffled. The barbecue baked Lays is delicious as well.

I don’t feel as guilty eating them like I would regular potato chips. I like the fact that they are 65% less fat than regular potato chips. I wish these were more readily available in the snack size bags but they are extremely difficult to find for some reason.

You would think with so many people watching their calories and on diets they would have the smaller bags for portion control people like myself available. These are excellent and I highly recommend them.

I love this product. So far it is my new favorite chip. The texture is great, and the saltiness is fabulous. I wouldn’t improve this product at all. My favorite chip flavor is the honey bbq if I could find baked chips in that flavor I would be in heaven.

My husband could only find these. But I like this flavor also. I have a bad gallbladder, so I can only eat baked chips for now. Once I have my baby in September I will be able to get it removed. I’m very thankful for these baked chips.

I usually hate instant potaotes, I havent had any in many years, but, I sure hate sitting and peeling potatoes, so decided to see if this brand of instant potatoes was worth it. These are very good! I was very surprised!! The only thing that keeps me from thinking these are homemade, is that there is no chucks of potato in them.

So, i decided to get a little creative and add about half a can of Great Valve canned potatoes to the mix. Heat the canned potatoes up, and mash with a masher or fork, and add to the Idahoan. I bought two of the small pouches, but now have added two of the bigger boxes of Idahoan taters to my shelves.

I love these potatoes. They have an excellent taste and are really easy to fix. Just boil 2 cups of water and as soon as the water boils – remove the water from heat and add the potato flakes and stir.

In a couple seconds you have mashed potatoes from a bag that definitely do not taste like they came from a bag. And at a price of less than $1 you can’t beat the price. I usually do not add butter or anything other than the potato flakes.

And the taste is excellent. You could easily fix these over a camp fire if needed. Although they are much better eating fresh I find these potatoes are also pretty good if you need to save and reheat and eat the next day.

I would recommend this brand and product to anyone. They last a long time in the cabinet and all you need is water and you have a meal. These are always on my weekly grocery list and a family favorite at my house.

I hope to god one day Ruffles gets it together and puts Smokehouse style BBQ (the one with the ribs is the best bbq chip ever, literally) back on the market or whatever.

I could eat Smokehouse style bags in bulk for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if I needed to. Since those came off shelves, I dont think there has been a single good bbq chip on the market. I guess bbq pringles are ok.

Recipe must have changed. Tastes awful. Barely any powder on the chips and the flavor that is present doesn’t taste like sour cream and onion. My family has been eating this brand of sour cream and onion for decades and it’s always been a 5/5.

I hadn’t had them for a long time myself and had a craving and was shocked how disgusting they were. Where is the powder that used to be on the chips? it’s just a salty, greasy unidentified gross flavor now.

Companies need to stop changing recipes and ingredients to penny pinch and remember the original products are the reason they became a success. Don’t buy these they’re a waste of money now.

What to say about potato chips…? Well these aren’t just any potato chip, its a yummy crunchy salty chip. I have a hand full of Favorite chips and these are on that list. I’ve enjoyed these Ruffle plain Chips since i was a kid and as a mother to a teen myself, my family also likes these.

I like sweet and salty kinda snacks and these hit that craving every time. I buy the big bag for at home snacking and I get the mini bags in a variety bundle for on the go snacking. I usually eat these when I eat sandwiches, I just like sandwiches, with chips, potato salad, a soda.

I dont eat many of the Ruffles chips but I like plain, sour cream and onion, cheddar and sour cream.

Being a born New Yorker, who then grew up in FL GA, I would have to say I am very picky when it comes to bagels and pastries so when I tell you Panera Bread does it like NO ONE ELSE! *** Besides Einstein Bagels… for those people who know.

you know!*** LOL I love the fact that the bagels and breads are fresh if you go in the beginning and middle of the week and I only know this because I have actually asked the employees when I was stationed various places.

I also love that there is a decent variety of flavors in the bagels depending on what you are looking for that day. I do NOT like however;!the fact that they do NOT make their own soup each day. They actually just heat up a pre-made bag that is sent to the store in the ordering process.

An employee who was just frustrated with the pressure of the job explained this to me when I asked about a seasonal soup that I didn’t know was out of stoke when I was in Elizabethtown, KY. Hey, just wanted to first start off by saying this is a pretty extraordinary forum with an exceptional amount of excellent information, so thank to you all. Attempting to rebuild credit based on poor decisions made a few years ago.

Most frustrating part of this all is that USAA is my primary issue – very annoying considering that they’re designed to support active duty and I’ve found them to be incredibly unresponsive. Jan 2018 – began missing payments on a USAA Career Starter loan with a balance of $4753.

Long story short, I was supposed to be on autopay for this loan and somehow it was removed (USAA app is miserable in my opinion). I asked repeatedly for them to reinstate my autopay on the phone and even got to the point where I asked them to record my conversations so that I could prove that I had authorized autopay but ultimately the responsibility is on the person, not the company.

May 2018 my loan was charged off and closed, reporting the balance. It was never sent to collections based on my CRs. Foolishly, I attempted to dispute the account with Transunion based on active duty circumstances, and my TU score dropped from 685 (Vantage Score 3.

0) to 615 because the dispute “reopened” my closed account. I’ve asked USAA to report accurately, but after a month of phone calls and even attempting to pay in full, no change in status. I received a letter from Revco Solutions offering to settle for 50%, which terrifies me because I assume that this will now be reported as a collection.

It does not show as a CA account on any of my CRs so far, but I just got the letter. I heard on this forum that ROOTKITS CREDIT SPECIALIST is the best company to repair credit score, delete collections and credit card debt, but I was not sure.

And I’m very fearful that they’ll just scam me. I still gave them a try. Seems strange my credit score has been raised to 804 across the 3 credit bureaus collections and credit card debt has been deleted across all my report.

The Thai soup is awful! I usually like Panera Bread, though most of their food is overpriced for what you get and the amount of food for the price, but this new soup is mostly broth with very little show from the mushy vegetables that did make an appearance.

Add to that the overpowering taste of ginger that was quite off putting. I did not even finish it. Generally, I like Thai food and was very excited to try it. But I disliked this soup so much that I felt I had to write a negative review.

Panera got rid of the best soup they ever made, namely the potato, and this is the nasty concoction with which they replace it? Go back to the kitchen and either fix this mess or take it off the menu.

It seems as if the restaurant thinks it can put any nasty thing on the menu and people with think they like it just b cause it came from Panera Bread.

I LOVE this dish so much and I wish someone would give me a recipe BECAUSE WHY is this so dang hard to find??? I deducted a star because in NYC this product is so hard to find! Most supermarkets do not carry it.

We do not have big stores like Walmart either. This dish is so delicious no matter if you put it in the oven or microwave! it is so warm and cheesy and creamy. Perfect for a cold day! This is probably my favorite frozen dish and I hate that I have such a hard time finding it.

I’m not sure why this particular product gets five stars on this app, every single time I cook it in the microwave or the oven, the food burns to a crisp. I’m doing everything to the instructions and sometimes even subtracting some time in the microwave to see if that would still cook all the way through without keeping part of it frozen but nope it is a terrible product and I can’t stress enough make your own potato bake at home people it’s not that hard.

This is pretty much the only thing that has convinced me that I should make my own meals at home.

I love stouffers cheddar potato bake. It is delicious! It is super easy to prepare on busy days. Just pop it in the microwave. No improvements need to be made because this is excellent as is. Great flavor with the cheese sauce.

Overall, great easy meal.

Tasty aside from chewy gristly bacon pieces. PAY ATTENTION TO THE SERVING SIZES listed on the back. It says 1/2 cup per serving, approx. 3. 5 servings in package. Nooooot a chance. In any case, it’s a fun side dish to have.

It’s rich and fattening and that’s what makes it taste good, so I serve it alongside lots of steamed broccoli and a piece of lean beef. Again, I add a little cranberry sauce to round out the meal.

The loaded potato bake is great. Big enough as a side for two or enough for a really hungry single. Great as a hangover cure. The hidden all star is the Parmesan and cheddar cheese sauce in it. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

Birds eye should sell jars of it so I can pour it over the rest of their products.

The box says 3. 5 servings, I think not! For adults, there are only two decent size servings, unless you are feeding tiny children who only take a couple bites. The price is rather expensive for 2 servings.

However, the taste is good, it was not too salty as some frozen items can be.
