20 Best Socks For Swollen Feet (2023 Updated)

These socks are so easy to put on and take off. I have limited range of motion from my past knee surgeries so that is important to me. I use the inside out sock method of peeling them back to the heel and then placing them on my foot to put on.

Wash them on delicate and hang dry. I put them on early in the morning and take them off about 18-10 hours later. My ankle swelling has all but disappeared and I don’t even notice that I am wearing them.

You can wear them for several days in a row. Yes they “pill” after washing but they are so soft and comfortable I will keep buying them. I wear a size 13 ahoe and buy the Extra large 13-15 size.

My husband has been wearing compression socks for years, and they make is legs and feet feel good. After a while, though, with many washings and dryings, they shrink up, and he says they are really hard to get on, and very tight on his toes.

Tried some of Dr. Scholls compression socks in the big and tall size, and he LOVES them. They are very easy to put on, and are not really too large or uncomfortable for him. He actually prefers them to the 7 – 12 size he has been wearing for so long.

I imagine they, too, will shrink up after several washing and dryings, so hopefully they will not get too small and tight as he has been experiencing with his older socks.

These compression socks are easy on, easy off and they feel good on. I have a pair of copper socks and they are miniature torture chambers. Not these. I wear these every day and look forward to how good they make me feel.

I needed something that would help with both burning feet and icy cold feet, and I preferred to have one product instead of two. These packs work in my NatraCure socks to address the alternating problems caused by neuropathy of MS and HNPP/CMT.

Having the extra packs means I have one set ready for the microwave and the other set in the fridge. These are sturdy and should last for years.

These are so easy to use. Just pop the whole thing (sock & all) into the freezer. The material is very soft, and the construction is a very good quality. I use these every night. I only wish they would stay colder, longer.

They only seem to last about 20 minutes (yes, I know that’s the common recommended time to ice your parts, but I’d like to decide that!) I do over-wrap them with ace bandage to make them a little tighter to my feet.

Anyway, these are the first ones I’ve tried, and I like ’em.

I had one set of these cool packs to wear during my chemo sessions to prevent neuropathy. I bought this second set so I could make it through the full session without them warming up. Good quality and holds onto the cold longer than other cold packs.

These socks arrived today and I’m a bit disappointed. The seams are very bothersome to my injured toes. I bought more than one brand of socks so that I could compare quality. These weren’t the worst, but I definitely found better.

These socks are cushioned and are non-binding which is good, but the bothersome seams are what makes them inferior! I am not happy with Medipeds. Look elsewhere if you have toe issues and are wanting comfortable seams.

Excellent quality. Item as described. Both my parents love these in the L size (dad 9. 5 shoe size, mom 7. 5 shoe size). Both like to wear slightly larger socks for comfort. Well made, super soft. Stays on and not slip down.

Keeps their toes comfortable. Whereas other normal socks tends to make their toes feel too tight and uncomfortable, and binding. Mom tried other men’s socks in large sizes, but she says these are so much lighter, softer and a lot more comfortable; now she is pain free!! Highly recommend.

I LOVE these socks! I have large ankles (cankles) to begin with, also have some swelling. Regular socks leave big indents and become quite uncomfortable. These do not do that. They are super comfortable, well made and don’t leave a mark on me even with swelling.

The socks are just right – not too tight and not loose at all. I also like that they are cooling. When my feet start to swell they always get red and hot, but the cooling sensation in the socks really helps keep that at bay.

I randomly bought these socks and brought them on a month long winter trip. They came in handy on some vicious mountain summit hikes! My feet get really sweaty and my calves get really sore and these socks managed to help with both of those issues! They were thin and cool for my hiking boots and absolutely perfect.

They were a perfect little base layer for my calves without being too snug.

I tired these in medium and small and I also tried a Jobst sock in medium. I am familiar with compression. I use compression tights all day when I ski and recovery tights after. These socks give the appropriate amount of compression.

If you feel they are too tight, it is not the sock. It is you. Go for less compression or size up if you know you are heavy. These compression Z socks seem to be made with a very similar material as the Jobst, but are much thicker and tighter.

They also have areas of reinforcement to add more pressure in zones unlike the Jobst. Even though the Compression Zs were tighter than the Jobst, which ended up falling off my calf at the end of the day, I ended up going with a small because I felt they were to long in a medium.

They went up about halfway up the kneecap, which cut off circulation in the back of them as there is a stronger band there. They should stop about an inch below the knee. Even the small was too long, though I could mange the stretch so the end up just below the knee.

I could also stretch the foot out so the heel is halfway up my Achilles, but again, not stretching so much put things in the appropriate place. I still can handle the compression Z in small, though I will say, that is tight, probably 50-60 mmHG.

In fact, to combat the length issue, I am now folding the sock back down over itself (as if you were taking it off) at where the calf starts. This will now give me a bit more compression at the ankle because the sock is then doubled in that area.

Still, I can sleep all night with them with no deleterious effects. FYI: I wear a size 8, have a very wide foot and my calf in the middle range (14″). I am using this to help prevent and reduce swelling after a pretty bad ankle fracture, so it’s not like I am not using them in a sensitive area.

As far as durability, the first pair developed a small tear after 3-4 uses around the ankle area. It did not affect the performance of the sock but more tears would follow. I expect to get 40-50 uses before it would fail.

All the other socks wear fine, so it could have been a defect. From what I have gathered, having compression to the joint helps stimulate the healing process. I was told by my orthopedic foot and ankle specialist to try compression, though he did not give me a specific pressure or brand.

After just one day of use with the Compression Z socks, I saw a world of difference in my foot morphology, and that was with the medium sock. The small even works better! I highly recommended the compression Zs.

I just wish they made a petite or short version for use short people (I am 5′-8″, so really not THAT short!). So one star off. I hope this review helps you make a choice.

I am only giving these socks 4 stars, because I when I saw them online, I thought they looked a little more like pantyhose, so I thought they would work well with skirts and dresses, but they definitely still look like compression socks.

BUT if you are fine with them looking like nude colored compression socks, they are a good buy! I think they are reasonably priced and comfortable. I just wear them around the house with pants or if I’m going out.

I’ll wear them with pants and shoes, and they don’t look bad.

This order fulfills my second order of wearing these hose. Initially finding them on Amazon, I am pleased with the price, ($140. 00 vs. $400. 00+), for seven pair. These hose do the same, if not better than going through “professional” retailers to be measured.

Not only that, but, for the most part, insurance doesn’t cover the expense. I chose black but I understand there are other colors available. There are also different levels of compression available for both women and men.

The mesh-like cotton weave on the bottom digs into your sole and hurt’s after a lot of walking. (Think like bare feet on a trampoline) Definitely not the “most comfortable sock ever” as a few reviewers have stated, however I got used to it somewhat.

(working on my feet) It doesn’t have any of that annoying stitching near the toes which I am assuming is why people refer to them as comfortable. They fit well go up to just below half my calf (6’1) Would be worth it if they 1) get softer after a bunch of washes AND 2) if they last many years.

I don’t have Diabetes, but I like a gentle( comfortable, not tight ) fir around the ankle. These socks are simple , solid , quality and beautiful. No fancy tricks or details – just a great simple sock for anyone.

these socks could be sold as just great socks for J Crew , Eddie Bauer , LL Bean , Ralph Lauren Polo – you get the idea – the only socks I wear, now – you can wear them with your running shoes, summer shorts or dress pants – they look great and feel great.

I bought five of these over a year ago and made this recent purchase of several more because I did not want to wear anything else. The sock is soft and woven so that there are no seams or knots in the fabric.

Also they weave in some patterns that you can use to line up the sock when you put it on so that it fits perfectly. There are no bumps or seams to feel on the bottom of the foot. This helps in evaluating shoes where you can determine if the shoe has defects because you can feel them through the sock.

Since the sock is ‘perfect’ any seams or bumps that you feel must be in the shoe. This has resulted in me throwing several pairs of shoes into the recycle bin. Also, since I am overweight, I find that I can walk further without any distress from my feet.

So much so that I now am on an exercise program and am losing weight.

The socks fit well. I can see that they are of a so-so quality but it is reflected in the price. I am happy because my husband is NOT diabetic or heavy, his legs are not swollen at all, there are no health issues here BUT all the socks we bought at department stores were cutting the circulation in his ankles.

Just terrible! The diameter of the top of the sock was like for a broom handle. These socks are a nice fit. And they stay up. I will spend more money next time to find a similar fit of better quality.

But for the price they are excellent.

My husband has very swollen, misshapen and gouty feet. It is very difficult for him to find socks he can actually wear. We got the X large size, thought they might be too big, but even though they are a little big, they fit better than other socks we have gotten.

They are stretchy enough he can put them on without too much trouble.

I really liked the softness of these socks. However, after wearing them they did nothing for my swollen ankle. Now after 2washings there are loose threads in different places on different socks. From the tops to on the sides.

This is a nice product and I’m glad my surgeon recommended it to me. The fabric is nice – it’s not itchy or scratchy at all. I was worried about getting the correct size because my ankle is so swollen, but the sizing is right on if you follow the measurement guide.

Overall it seems to work well to help keep my swelling down and I am pleased with it. I would buy it again.

I bought the thermal socks for my husband, and he just like it that he will never use his other socks. He is so comfortable on it, the stretch, the length, the material. It was really a good buy that he told me to order more.

These socks are terriffic. Warm, comfy and great on my swollen legs.

I wear a ladies 10 1/2 size shoe, have wide ankles and large calves. , and high arches. I am pleased to find these socks are comfortable. They go on without a fight, and reach all the way to my knees.

They are a little snug over my arches, but it is tolerable. They wash nicely in cool water and barely need a drier. They offer gentle compression. For about $4 a pair they are a good value.

Oh and Did I mention stylish? They possibly pill a bit more than solid wool socks, but the comfort, breathability, for not being too warm is well worth it.

I’ve worn my socks and washed them several times and they are holding up really well so far. The patterns are vary in the way they hug your leg, and this particular pattern is my all-time favorite, especially the wide top band.

I bought three pairs of these socks as they came recommended by my midwife who uses them while she works (I’m starting to deal with varicose veins and achy legs in my second trimester). I’m very happy with them.

As a RN as well I’ve had lots of experience with compression socks and these are by far the most comfortable and the easiest to get on. I bought two pairs of the featherweight and one pair of the circulator.

I have to say the circulator pair is my favorite. It hits just below my knee, stays up all day and has some nice cushion to it. The featherweight are comfortable as well, however, for some reason they both are longer in the calf and hit at an awkward place mid knee when pulled up completely.

This causes them to roll down a bit. I will still wear them but I do wish I just chose to get three pairs of the circulator instead.

Exactly as pictured. I absolutely love the colors! I wear a size 9 shoe and ordered a small. They fit perfect. They’re comfortable and have good compression compared to other socks I have bought. I also ordered a pack for my sister who loves the socks as well! She wears a size 7 shoe and the small fits her perfect.

I was really excited about these compression socks but they were a bust. None of the tops are the same size and although XL, many don’t fit my my calf, although the measurement says they would. Some are so small.

The feet are weird & just don’t fit, long & skinny, with a big band of thread that rubs my toes. The colored threads aren’t part of the pattern like for most compression socks, they’re just cut off inside and leave huge lumps.

I was experiencing mild lower leg edema (hello aging and a desk job ). Mother recommendation was “support hose”. Then developed some intense shin splints after As a reward for consistently running 5 miles.

A suggestion was again “support hose”. So these had good reviews but I was skeptical they would provide the needed level of support as most of the reviews were by wives stating how wonderful they were for their spouses.

I assume my 5’2” frame was smaller. The price was good, so. Decided to try them. While I don’t have the legs of my youth, I have regained my ankles and my calves now longer jolt me awake with intense throbbing.

I love the White and black lg/xl 20-30 socks. They give good support and are not that hard to put on. I also purchased 2 pair of dark blue and black along wit teal and black. The teal and black are much harder to put on.

Bought these socks to try thinking that with the price they could not be very good. boy was I wrong. The compression is there to keep the ankles from swelling all day long. Liked them so much I reordered.

Much better than paying $30. 00 or more for one pair. Easy to put on and take off which is an added value. no more asking my wife to help me put them on.
