20 Best Socks For Construction Workers (2023 Updated)

I purchased these Mens Work Gear Tube Socks at our Walmart one time a while ago. They are very thin material and course. They also wear holes into them very fast. Because of the thin material. I needed new Fruit of the Loom tube socks to replace my Men’s Dual Defense Tube Socks that are a lot softer, comfortable and lasts a lot longer than these Men’s Work Gear Tube Socks.

Unfortunately, since manufacturers and stores prefer not to carry ample stock in the stores anymore and expect everyone to purchase everything online these days. I made the mistake of purchasing these horrible Fruit of the Loom socks again through the Fruit of the Loom online store.

I returned them, and now in the process of waiting for Fruit of the Loom to refund my money. The return process appears to be easy, but the sad part is I purchased these with their first time buyer discount and now will have to purchased the Men’s Dual Defense Tube Socks at full price cost, because I wasted my first time buyer discount on ordering their wrong horrible product first.

This is why I dislike buying clothing items online. You have no way of feeling the type of material, if the size is the correct fit size for your body, and then returning the items becomes such a hassle and you are without the article of clothing you were needing in the first place for an additional week or however long it takes to do the return and purchased and shipped again.

I frequently buy these socks, but this is the first time I ordered directly from the brand. They are a much-requested Christmas present item so I buy them for all the men in the family at least once a year.

They are comfortable and fit as expected. The length is right where tube socks are supposed to be and they stay in place. My dad wears socks with flip flops so that puts extra strain on the big toe so he always wears a hole in that spot and that is why they get replaced frequently.

The quality is as expected, though socks can always benefit from reinforced toes.

These socks are comfy, have stretch but fit snuggly like a sock should. The stretch allows for movement without the socks slipping off or twisting, which is great for those bitty baby feet! The grippies on the bottom are great if you have a little who’s exploring or is trying to.

Very nice material. Good price point. Unfortunately, the stretchy part around the ankle was a tad too tight for my girl. She has chunky ankles, but her feet are small. But that’s just an individual situation.

I’m sure if she had smaller ankles they would fit perfectly all the way around.

I ordered several XL socks from you guys. Although the design and quality of the socks are wonderful—my husband, who wears a size 14 shoe US, cannot get these XL socks on. They are too small. If you can alert your manufacturer or pass this info on to people who really would like to have kool socks for XL sizes to wear! Please offer a true product for large feet.

It is an awful let down to see them, and hold them, go to put them on and realize they are just too small. :(.

The size on the label says it will fir t shoe size 12-15. I wear a 12 with an extra wide foot. Not only was this pair of socks still too small but so were the other 5 five pair. I will be returning all 6 pair.

On a positive note the fabric felt soft and the patterns were terrific.

Don’t let size XL fool you. Size 13-15 are still unusually tight, and dig into my ankles. Pretty colors yes, relaxed fit? No!

These socks are so warm. When your feet or calves,or even knees are bothering you, I put on these socks, and my pain is relieved! Now, if you like an even warmer sock, the brown-up to the knee socks are amazing–sorry I forgot the name.

They’ll help you. I’m allergic to wool, so I gave them to my husband, plus purchased more for him. He wears them with his tennis shoes, but I save mine for the house–mine are too thick for my tennies.

I am in Calif, so you may need the thicker type. Some folks are unhappy cuz of the slipping. I have big calves, so I don’t have that prob.

These feel great on, and all things considered they’re relatively thin and compact for socks that are so warm and cushioned. Also not itchy. My only (mild) complaint is, they are relatively speaking “one-size-fits-all” — my late-teen daughters and I came out the same size on the size chart, even though they wear 10.

5 women’s and I wear 12 men’s. Therefore, if I wear these socks all day — really all day, from morning until night — they start to feel a little snug in the toes. Other than that, really like ’em, wear ’em all the time.

My wife loves her warm thick socks. I will continue to purchase these for her. I retired Air Force after 30 tears and I must say that I bought your cushioned black socks for at least 6 years after I found out how great they were.

I am in the process of buying more socks for the summer.

I was hopeful that these socks would be something that they are not. I cannot believe anyone would use them as work socks. When I put them on, they are so thin that I can see my skin through the fabric.

I have some old cotton crew socks, which have been washed many many times, and they are still thicker and more comfortable than these new ones. I cannot imagine why the decision was made to make these socks so thin.

To save money on the cost of fabric? Carhartt used to be a brand that I trusted. This isn’t true anymore.

For 10 years I have bought the same Carhartt socks for my husband. The same size, color and fit and it was beautiful. He was only allowed those specific socks and I had a wonderful system where any two socks I grab would always be a pair and when one got holes it matched with others and socks had a 100% useful life.

And for 10 years it was a great system. Until it wasn’t. I am in a sock system melt down. We live remote, and instead of going to town I ordered new socks form Carhartt. com. They have changed the fabric composition of the socks.

I can no longer just grab two pair as they will feel differently on your feet. I’m sure they’re still great socks, maybe better, time will tell but for now my system is broken. To make matters worse I ordered three sets too large, so I will be living in sock sorting hell for who knows how long sorting socks that are slightly different sizes and slightly different textures until I get the odd ones phased out.

I just hate it when things change.

These socks are amazing!! They were soft and thick enough to keep my feet nice and warm but not so thick they made my boots feel like vice grips. I love that you can’t really feel the seam so my toes weren’t scrunched and irritated.

Only downside is that they are not in women’s size, so they slipped down a bit but as long as I pulled them up nice and high then did up my boots they didn’t scrunch down inside. They come in a pack of three and while they are a little more money than regular socks they were worth every penny and I am going to buy more.

Ever since I first found these I have been buying them to keep some in reserve. They are really comfortable, not too tight around the bottom of the leg but still stay up. My go-to sock! Only weakness is that the seam where the bottom meets the top tube tends to develop a small hole right near the ankle bone but that isn’t a big deal.

I bought two packages of these socks for a Christmas gift for my husband. I was so happy with the quality and feel of them I ordered two months packages for my sons.

These socks are super thin and have a rough texture. Also they do not have Fruit of the Loom printed on the toe of socks. Every package I have ever bought had the toes with fruit of the loom on them.

These do not. Not comfortable at all.

This is a long tube style sock (no heal pocket) with medium thickness work sock weight. Good thickness for the price I paid. The mix of synthetic fibers along with the cotton will help it wear longer though I would prefer 100% cotton.

A bit snug around the calf is my only negative. Possibly that will expand over time, but not certain.

Durability is horrible. I was excited after reading all the good reviews. I thought Dickies would be a brand that would last a decent amount of time. Socks coming off in my shoes already. I have a desk job, so I am not hard on socks at all.

what material are these made of? I bought them as a substitute for wool socks which I prefer but are getting harder to find amid the myriad “wicking” socks. Unfortunately, Dickie does not proved the adequate information on the material this is made from.

Good sock for the price. I ordered the wicking synthetic material for the first time; customarily, I use wool socks because I can wear them for two days before laundering. These seem as good.

Best socks I’ve ever owned! Prior to these I had Carhartt, Wolverine, Red Wing, Under Armour and other brands that are carried at most sporting good stores. I wish I would have purchased these sooner in life for sure.

I literally sat on the fence with buying this brand since I heard about them in 2015 and just now got around to it. The price is obviously what kept me from purchasing them because they are expensive.

For (20+) years I’ve worn Red Wing socks with my work boots, typically 8-10 hour days. They were great up until last year when I purchased a pack of them. Within weeks they started getting holes and easily tearing.

I saw a segment on the world news featuring this made in America company and how they’ve made it through the pandemic. I checked out the website and read a ton of the reviews and decided to order a single pair to give them a shot.

Are they good socks, yes they are good! Very durable and fit great. But, I’m not blown away by how much more comfortable they portrayed in a lot of the reviews. I didn’t notice any difference between these or my everyday socks that I wear with tennis shoes.

Would I buy them again? Doubtful, I feel like I can find a comparable sock at a fraction of the price. I really wanted to buy into this company and their products, I just don’t think I can throw $30 at a pair of socks that didn’t make a huge impression on me.

Upon first arrival I noticed the socks were packaged like many other small articles of clothing using those little white plastic things called tag fasteners. I wish companies would stop doing this because it’s a pain to remove them without damaging the fabric.

It’s very easy to start a hole in your brand new pair of socks if you’re not careful about removing this stupidly cheap packing material. Now that that’s out of the way. I’ll start off by saying I have worn socks of various materials; from nylon, cotton, bamboo, merino wool, and more.

I was drawn into purchasing these socks because they were advertised as having this “Drymax Olefin” fabric, which was promoted to wick away moisture from my feet. I work in a fairly chilly warehouse and my feet tend to get very sweaty while wearing safety-toed shoes.

After I get home everyday, I immediately take off these new socks and find that my feet are so drenched in sweat that I easily slip around on the hard wood floor. I switched to an old pair of merino wool socks and did not experience this problem.

After multiple weeks of wear I can conclude that these socks provided no improvement to my sweaty feet problem when compared to any other pair of socks I’ve worn. Overall, the comfort and quality of the materials feels nice and I can see these lasting longer than most of my socks.

BUT, I’m highly dissatisfied with these socks in their advertised ability to wick away sweat.

My adult son was battling athlete’s foot. His feet sweated profusely in his work boots. I found these socks and sent him 4 pairs. He loved them! So I sent him 6 more! I tend to have cold feet, and for some reason this causes my feet to sweat when wearing socks, especially steel toed work boots. I was hoping these socks would help avoid the extra humidity. At the end of the work day, I tend to have soaked socks.

The only thing I observed with these socks, my feet get less wet, but they don’t stay dry for more than an hour. I went from completely soaked socks to somewhat damp socks.

Ive bought Dickies work socks before which have been great but over time they shrink a little and start to wear out at the toes where they rub on the steel toecap. Im a size 11-12 so with the earlier purchases I was always pushing the regular size.

This time Ive bought the 11-14 bigger size and the are so much more comfortable and I can feel the more cushioned sole. Very pleased so far.

I’m on my feet all day with my work and I need a good quality sock. I thought at 8 pounds your socks would be first class. I’ve had other products from yourselves and they have been excellent. (trousers and boots) But I’m very disappointed with these socks.

I’ve found the socks to be thin in material and I don’t believe they will last very long. I’ve bought caterpillar socks before and they were great and also cheaper (3. 99).

I was looking for some cotton-based crew socks for everyday use, as so many of the socks out there are polyester now. There are a lot of things to like about these socks. There is lots of padding for the feet and they are very comfortable.

The material is thick and the calves are quite stiff, so I’m not sure these are great for the summer or workouts. Despite the stiffness, they stay comfortable and I do not pull at them or want to take them off in the middle of the day the way I want to do with cheaper socks.

I also like that I have size 13 feet and these are available in XL. So far I am very happy with these and I will buy more socks from this brand.

My husband has a small-sized foot (6. 5D) and it’s extremely hard to find socks for him that the heel doesn’t come way up over the foot and the sock length turns into a knee sock! The smallest size in Wigwam is just perfect; the fit is great and the sock on his foot fits well in his shoes without bunching or riding up out of place.

The sock is constructed exceedingly well, nice thickness and texture to it and holds up wash after wash with very little wear-and-tear; much nicer than ANY OTHER sock that I have purchased for him in 50 years.

Now that I have found these, I won’t be buying any other sock for him…finally found the one that is “just right”.

The Medium size runs small, but I think large size would be too large. Highestest cotton percentage fabric is great. You should make a version THIS particular sock in black. Note: Your current black At Work Quarter Crew Wigwam sock contains no cotton which makes my foot hot and uncomfortable during normal wear.

I usually wear Smart Wool Socks and have worn them for the past 25 years. When I first started wearing them, they were wonderful and very well made. Now with the newer socks that I have purchased, I have noticed that the quality of manufacturing has diminished.

I am in the process of looking for a new brand. One issue that I have been having with the newer socks is the quality and consistency of the wool. It is both thin and thick within the same sock. With the quality of the wool yard been of lesser than previously purchased socks, The heel portion of the sock wears thin much quicker.

My arthritic fingers do not allow for me to darn my socks. That is, IF I could find wool thread to do it with. Secondly is the toe of the sock; when the toe section is connected to the body of the sock, there is a large nubb of fabric and it rubs right against my small toe causing severe blisters.

Hopefully I will be able to find a replace brand soon.

I have purchased these many times as they look great and are comfortable. The problem is that they just don’t last. Contrary to what you might read in the Merchant responses in these reviews, Smart Wool’s “Go Far.

Feel Good. ™ Guarantee” doesn’t amount to much. I recently sent pictures of two pairs that wore very thin. Thin enough to see my feet (not holes, just thin) and was told “the item falls under normal wear and tear ” and hence despite the fact you can’t “go far” in your socks because they are thin, the guarantee doesn’t apply.

In light of the fact that I only wear these each pair two or three times per month, and I have never had other manufacturers wool blended socks experience a thinness problem, I’m not happy. Smart Wool’s decision to not honor their guarantee leaves me thinking, I am only going to buy them in the future if they are on clearance.

I started gradually transitioning most of my wardrobe to Merino wool pieces about six months ago and now I’m a huge fan: socks, undergarments, tank tops, leggings, shirts, and headwear all around for everyday wear and travel.

I recently purchased a Smartwool Merino 150 Lace Baselayer long-sleeved top (color: Sparrow) that I love and have received so many compliments on. It’s soft, not super tight or loose, and a lovely color (I’m 5’4”, 125 lbs with a muscular build).

I can also wear it multiple days in a row without needing to wash it! It’s been through camping, hiking, air travel, and even worn to work and holding up great. I’m definitely ordering more of these layers for all seasons.

Just enough synthetic fiber to wick. Just enough cotton to feel extremely comfortable. Fits well and elastic stays up all day. My feet and socks were dry at the end of my work day, and I live in Florida.

PLEASE make them in tan or khaki. White too because these will work well as athletic socks.

These have to the the best socks i have ever worn. I have sweating feet, even in the winter. I have to changr socks after work because of this. These socks you can feels air moving even inside a work boot.

They stay up on your calf and have a small amout of cushion, just enough. I don’t get excited about socks, but these. I hope these stay in stock, I do not want to go back to another brand.

The 6 pack mens white work socks with the durable heel and toe. They evidently change the thickness and material. I didn’t get more then 3 times wearing and washing these socks and they were getting holes in the toes and heels I have some from 2 or 3 years ago and they are still holding up after hundreds of uses.

warm, durable, true to size good fit. I chose the Berne socks because the Berne brand apparel has always been good for my use at work or casual. I chose TSC because of wide selection of the Berne brand items and the shiping is fast.

I bought these socks for my husband & he loves them. They are warm even in negative temperature. They stay put on his feet & don’t slip down into your shoes or bunch up. They aren’t big and bulky either.

These socks are true to fit, good quality, and very comfortable. I would recommend them as I plan to buy many more.

Good but not great. They are a little thin for wool socks. It’s definitely more noticeable on the calf of the sock than the foot of the sock. I got them on sale so they are acceptable at that price but better options available that will be heavier and warmer.

Premium price, low on quality. 3 wears out of them and holes have appeared. Threw in bin as unwearable. Like I said Premium prices but very VERY low quality. Consider other socks.

As a size 8 I assumed size 6 to 11 would be ok. When they arrived I had my doubts as with the toe fitted the heal was half way up my calf! Thought no sweat wash them and they will shrink – no chance, they are now so big they will fit over the boot.

Total loss, do not bother.

good socks – only fault for me is that they do not stay up inside rigger boots. otherwise happy. I gave them 5* for reliability as they always fall down. I am a 9. 5 foot size hence am in the middle of the size range.

They need better elastic to hold them up! They are well made and comfortable otherwise. The socks were discounted when i bought them.
