There are cheaper hitchlocks out there, but this one is really well engineered and designed, very quick and easy to use and to my mind is well worth the money. Helps to secure an expensive trailer. A handy feature is that you can use it when the trailer is connected to the vehicle, for example at motorway services when thieves can steal an unsecured trailer in just seconds.

It takes just seconds to put in on, to ensure that your trailer or caravan is still there when you get back to it.

I purchased one of these about 15 year ago, so I knew what I was buying. I bought this 2nd one as I have a 2nd trailer. The only difference between the 2 is that the new one has a plastic “thing” which you put into the hitch rather than a metal one.

I would prefer a metal one, however, I believe this hitch was cheaper and then I purchased my first one 15 years ago. I feel confident then I park up my trailer with one of these on.

This is a cracking bit of kit. A great deterrent against the opportunist thief. Can stay attached while travelling or parked uncoupled. Easily fits in seconds. Similar to other reviews wouldve preferred the dummy ball to be metal rather than plastic but thats just my belt and braces attitude.

Still highly recommend it.

I found Sock Aid to solved my problem, but was disappointed that it didn’t help more. I only need it with my right leg. It can get a sock on my foot, tight on my toes and bunched up between by toes and heel.

I can then pull it up just fine. People with more difficulty may have trouble reaching their heel. Sock aid works better with compression socks. Still it doesn’t get the sock much past my heel. However, getting a compression sock over the toes to the heel is the biggest problem, so it is a big help with compression socks.

I use it with both legs for compression socks. Probably with the aid of an occupational therapist, one could develop the optimum technique. I pull the sock all the way on the device with the toe tight against the end.

Then I bunch the rest of the sock up on the device. Depending upon the elasticity of the sock, I have to adjust it so I can get in onto my foot. This is where the compression socks tend to pop the top open more so I can pull the sock further onto the device.

With street socks, the opposite occurs and I can’t pull the sock as far on the device.

My mother was told that she needed to use a compression stocking and the usual sock aid that is made of hard plastic does not compress small enough to get a tight sock on it. BUT CAREX SOCK AID DID THE TRICK! Because it has sides that are flexible she can fit any size sock including hard to get on compression socks.

I am writing this review for others who have loved ones or themselves need a way to put on hard to reach and hard to maneuver socks:).

I had recent right shoulder rotator cuff surgery and I can’t use my right arm to help put on my socks. The sock helper aid is a Godsend and now I can put on both socks using just my left hand (I’m right handed).

It really is simple to use: Slide sock over the three large fingers and insert your foot into the sock helper. Pull both straps and the sock is on. I love this thing and it really is needed by anyone who has trouble putting their socks on – you don’t need to be elderly.

The quality of the help including the straps in top notch and looks like it will last a long time. However, like anything it will ultimately wear out so I suggest you keep a spare. Now I need to find something simple to take my socks off.

Wow! What a difference a quality healthcare product makes in your daily living. This is lightweight, easy to handle, the cords are a perfect length from top of cord down to sock area. You just slip the socks onto the plastic, slip your foot onto the plastic then pull on the cords.

No bending. Fantastic invention.

It’s difficult for my husband to reach down and put his support socks on since the are very tight. This AID simplifies the procedure considerably. He simply pulls the support sock up on the Aid then puts his foot into the top of the device and pulls up on the handles.

Works every time. Enables him to get them on without another person assisting him.

this made it possible to put on my socks after a hip replacement. Without it I had to have my daughter help me. after 3 months i still have to use it. thanks.

It’s just ok! I have a men’s size13 shoe/sox, and I wear compression knee-high sox. With all levels of compression it is a challenge to get the sox on the device, but once on it works well. It is also a challenge at 82 to just get the compression sox on my feet without the device making it for me the lessor of 2 evils.

Ability to compress and expand the sleeve would be helpful. As an engineer this concept is excellent but the implementation needs improvement.

I wear over the calf socks and they are virtually impossible to install on the plastic sleeve. Need to be able to compress the sleeve to get the sock to fit over the plastic. Really need your ingenuity.

I can finally wear socks that fit. For the past couple of years I’ve had to wear socks way too big in order to get them on. I haven’t figured any way that lets me get the support socks on yet. Bottom of sock assist will need to be narrower for it to work so I’ll buy that when it becomes available.

I have been using this type off sock aid for ages. I had two of them but lost one and the other finally broke. So I am happy to be renewed.

If using for short compression socks it’s okay. If have knee-hi compression socks, won’t work. To hard to squeeze together to get sock on. I have arthritis in my hands, causes to much pain.

There’s a learning curve in finding the best way to use the Sock Aid. It works and does a better job getting my socks on my feet then I can do unassisted. I’d give it five stars if it worked with ankle height socks and knee high socks the same with less effort.

Because knee highs have more fabric, it takes a little struggling to get them from being bunched up on the Sock Aid’s lower end all the way up to my knee. I’m sure as time goes on I’ll master this appliance and purchase socks with a looser weave and less elastic.

Unbelievable! This has made such a huge difference in my life. I bought this in anticipation of a hip replacement that will be coming up this fall. Why it never occurred to me to use it now, I’ll never know.

I use it every single day and its wonderful! It can accommodate any type of sock, and probably knee-high stockings (just haven’t tried that yet). Easy to use – no strain/stress on body!.

This product has performed better than others Ive used. The surface is very smooth allowing easy donning of the over the calf compression stockings I use daily. The compression I use is moderately high, I suspect more than the average.

When placing the stockings on this stocking assist device, it will deform the sides inward. However, unlike most Ive tried which end up cracking after moderate use use, this blue device has not done so and Ive used It for quite a duration thus far.

This blue unit is thicker than almost all others Ive tried. This is the second one of these Ive ordered. Nothing wrong with the first, its still in use at home. The second one is to keep in our Motorcoach.

I bought this as a gift so I can only report what the recipient said. It does help a little with putting on custom-fitted (read: really really tight!) compression stockings, but it’s still hard. That said, the design is much like all the others, so I’m not sure any other product would be any better.

The rope is thick and supple with easy-to-grip handles. It is a perfect length for the sheath to lie flat on the floor, and you slide your foot gently inside the sock. The sheath is a semi-rigid plastic that holds its shape well, and holds the sock open, but is flexible enough to bend as you pull the sock over your heel.

The disk of foam installed on the outside near the bottom edge of the sheath makes a lot of difference. It gently tugs to sock along the foot and up over the hell and then ankle. I use alpaca socks, and the sheath pulls them a little higher than the ankle before releasing the sock.

Had hip replacement surgery in August. Still not fully healed and needed a little help with putting on my sock on that side. This product works as advertised and has been a big help until I’m able to do it by myself.

Excellent in every way if I were a much larger person. My legs are much smaller, so my normal socks didn’t fit on the device. I used big stretchy socks and it worked fine. I gave it 5 stars because of the quality.

It was my fault that I didn’t check out the size.

I suddenly found myself needing help putting elasticated stockings and looked for what was available. As i was going on holiday i didnt want anything bulky so thought Able2 was the answer. it is plastic with ropes to get the socks on.

First you hae to put the stockings over the plastic and this constricted the plastic so much I couldnt get my foot in to pull it up. I have sore hands and this did not help in any way. I got the first sock on using Able2 with difficulty and the second just using my hands – painful but easier.

What an amazing thing this is. So simple yes my partner can now put on his own socks whilst waiting for a hip replacement. Can highly recommend this device it works so well.

Not as good as the sock aid I got in 2004 and thought this one could replace it because it was broken from long use. A couple small mending plates and some machine screws and the old one is good for a few more years.

I just had knee surgery and my friend stayed with me for a week and put T. E. D. hose on me everyday, with great difficulty. After she left, using this device was easier than having my friend help! I am a size 10 women’s foot, and it may be difficult for people with bigger feet or ankles, but I can get these stockings on in seconds, with almost no difficulty.

I would be unable to do it myself without it. Worth every penny!.

Not able to use this with toeless compression hose, but did barely manage to get on a pair of regular tight hose, but find it hardly worth the struggle. Gave up on it after about a dozen tries. It did not work for me.

I don’t know how anyone gets compression socks on without the help of this aid. I have arthritis in my hands and trying to get my compression socks over my heels was painful and tiring, but it is a breeze with this! I ordered two just to be sure I always had one!.

love it – wish I had it sooner. it’s one piece fits in my drawer and my overnight bag. and it works. I have tried a couple differant ones. I think it’s the best one out there. now I need an extention on my toe nail clippers lol.

This product did not work for me. . . I gave it to a male friend who could use it. Sorry, but the plastic needs to be more flexible. . . . It totally stretched out my cotton stockings.

Due to severe arthritis in my spine, I haven’t been able to reach my feet for a long time, and as such, have had to manage with just slip on shoes and no socks, but my feet were always cold. I’d tried several other “gadgets” that were meant to help, with no success at all, so was dubious about trying another.

Saw the Soxon at my local chemist but was quite expensive. When I found it for half the price on ebay I thought would be worth one last try, and it did the job perfectly!! The sock fits securely, yet still slides off easily when and where needed, and the long straps made it so easy.

Would highly recommend to all.

Bought for my 92 year old mother in law. She is finding it useful though she manages one sock but not the other, hopefully with a little more practise she will master both. I used a similar product myself after hip replacement and found it very useful.

Soft cloth ones like these are preferable to the cold plastic type.

My hubby suffers from osteo arthritis and this is a great aid to him; good quality at a reasonable price and it helps him keep his independence. It was recommended to us by my brother in law who is 91 years old and uses it on a daily basis – so that’s two recommendations.

I have been using this sock aid for 25 years since my 1st hip replacement. It works much better than the soft type or the molded hard type with separate pull cords.

I recently had a full hip replacement. This is a great little device. I really don’t need the garter straps but it is very easy to use. I love it!!!

This is the easiest sock assist i’ve used however there are weak points that need more reinforcing. I have bought 5 of these in the last 5 years and the plastic always breaks in the same place. If they woukd make them stronger I would gladly pay more for them.

I will continue to use them in the future and buy another when they break.

Use two baby wipes together, fold down one corner 3 times and tuck that under the serrated upper part of the wiper head. Fold each side into the back and push the material up towards the head of the wiper and it will not come out when wiping.

Wet the baby wipes with water to work the best. If you use dry tissue you can have 3 pieces of tissue that you reuse by putting it in the back of the wiper so you don’t have to use many pieces of tissue on the outside of the wiper.

This is narrow enough to fit at the back of the commode or elevated commode seat without having to stand up. You can glue thin foam used in packages if you want it to be softer on the outside of the wiper.

It’s the type of foam that is tough and you can use in water. You will need glue for plastic.

I’ve worked clinically at a Regional Trauma Center, with an inpatient rehab unit, for over 20 years, and for much of that time, this has been the go-to hemi-sling option. When ordering, be sure to order both the cuff and the sling portions, as they are listed separately in the on-line ordering system.

Works well but tends to be a little rough on hands with arthritis. Tissue doesn’t stay on well but using a wadded (2 to 3 sheets of tissue) in the back helps hold the tissue onto the teeth. It’s weakest point is the smallest point where the tissue holder connects to the straight section and it tends to snap off fairly easily.

I have used 4 to date but can’t do without it.
