16 Best Soap For Black Skin (2023 Updated)

We are now on our 6th bottle of unscented African Black Soap. My teen sons love it. I have so much more noticeable volume in my hair. I’ve bought more expensive sulfate-free shampoo over the last five years, but none worked as well as African Black Soap.

With less hair breakage, my hair feels thicker. My teens like that it’s unscented, and they have gotten a lot of compliments on their hair since using it. Our family highly recommends this soap.

Very very nice. My skin was noticeably softer and smoother just after one use. Also perfect as a face cleaner, so its a 2 in 1. This product organic as well. So that is a plus for me. I didnt notice the exfoliants while showering that some ppl are complaining about.

Ive been organic almost all my life, so im a master at making these products stretch. I only run this bar through my rag once. That was more than enough lather to do my upper body. Not so much for my lower body, but soap was still present.

I make it work. I make my products last. If you need more soap for the bottom half, run the bar through your rag once more. I would never run an expensive organic bar through my rag 5-10 times each time i shower.

Thats not how these products were designed. A little goes a long way in organic hygiene. Remember that. Running this bar once or twice through your rag during your shower should suffice. Or find your happy spot.

It will last a long time if you use the correct amount.

I bought this to scrub into a loufah for my body. I’m 23 yr old male, and suffer from re-occuring back acne. Wanted to give this a try! This soap bar smells amazing, and it made my body feel very clean afterwards.

I tried it on my face, and it was quite drying. Even after adding toner, serums, and moisturizers. Be careful if you have already dry skin. My face is combination oily (oily T-zone), and my body is just normal.

It didn’t dry out my body. Will continue to buy and use as a body soap! Disclaimer: I am mixed latino-asian, I am not quite sure if this counts as an “authentic” African black soap. I will leave that decision to those who are able to.

It is a hard bar, that does not squeeze easily. I’ve read that authentic African soaps will be able to squeeze pretty easily, once wet. Just a disclaimer for whom it may concern.

This is a great buy! I used it in two days, and my bumps were already smaller and fading away. It’s a good size, very smooth and has a nice subtle scent to it unlike other ones I’ve bought. I wish the shape of the soap was a little less concave for the face, and there was a combo package deal; but either way, I’m satisfied with my sample and may be buying more again.

This is a great facial cleanser. I notice a difference at first use. I had a blemish that deflated after one use. It left my face well moisturized and smooth. After one week of use (once a day) my pores are tone and my skin tone is more even.

After 30, the same products are no longer working. I am glad i found this product! Highly recommend!!!.

This stuff is great! Ran into an African stand in my local mall (Willow Grove) and stopped to look around at the different soaps. Normally, I go for the Nubian Heritage brand of African Black Soap but I was in dire need of some more so I just grabbed this brand.

It works fabulously. The bar of soap is generally larger than that of the Nubian Heritage one. With the combination of this soap and lavendar oil, my face has never been clearer and smoothr in my life.

I seriously suggest this (or any) brand of natural African Black Soap if you struggle from acne, and especially acne scarring.

I had sworn off bar soap until Shea Terra was smart enough to send me a sample of their African Black Soap. After working in my garden one hot summer day, I felt like I needed a really good scrub down, so I gave it a try.

To my astonishment, my skin was clean and soft afterwards, not dry and itchy at all. When I ran out of this soap, I even tried a different brand of African Black Soap from WFM. There was no comparison.

Like every other bar soap, I felt dry and in dire need of moisturization after using it. Now, when I place my Shea Terra order, I always order 2 or 3 bars of the African Black soap so that I don’t run out.

It has become my go-to cleanser in the shower.

This is a great product if you want to get rid of acne. Also this product leaves your skin feeling clean. My daughter suffered from bad acne and one day someone at the mall gave my daughter a sample of the black soap when they saw her skin.

I took the sample but did not use it for about 6 months. My daughter was so frustrated about her skin so I said just use this. In a week her face cleared up. I went back to the mall to see if I could find the person who gave out the sample no luck but I had the packaging and found the website.

From that point on not only does my daughter use this product but my family and friends. I would suggest these products to anyone who wants natural products to use on their skin. I use several types of products from this line.

Worth the investment.

In my 30’s I was still struggling with acne. Even after my hormones had balanced out. One day I was watching a youtuber who explained that sometimes we can have allergic skin reactions to certain chemicals in our cosmetics which can include adult acne.

I knew I had chemical skin allergies but I had never associated them to my cosmetics as well. So I stopped using ALL cosmetics and voila adult acne gone. I was able to find and replace most of my cosmetics with organic all natural stuff but I learned a hard lesson in the process.

Just because something “says” its “natural” doesn’t mean it isn’t full of other stuff. So I stopped reading titles and started reading indgredient lists. I struggled to find a good facial cleanser that wasn’t full of other stuff including and most importantly perfume! Then a friend gifted me this cleansing bar.

I followed the instructions to use it as a mask as well and I could not believe how much my skin loved it. I had oily skin. Now that I’m older its combination plus I will still get the ocasional facial cyst when on my period.

This thing dries the cyst in 2 days. Plus it has helped so much with my acne scars in addition to other products i use for that purpose. This is a wonderful truly “natural” product with no additional stuff.

And to someone without much money the 8 dollars is totally worth it because it also lasts a long time if you’re only using it at night on your face. Try it! You won’t regret it!.

I’ve used dr bonners for years and thought it would be good to try this brand as well. There were several reviews saying the lavender smell was too much. Lavender isn’t my favorite, but I liked the idea of concentrated black soap so I still ordered it.

I actually love the smell of it. If u sniff the bottle it’s strong, but since it’s concentrated that’s expected. When it’s diluted it smells amazing! Reminds me of baby bath soap. And it cleans nicely without drying out my skin! It does leave brown residue in the shower that I have to rinse off each time.

I took a star off because the seal on my bottle was broken and there was a significant amount of soap all over in the package shipped to me. I don’t know why everyone doesnt use those simple gripper tapes for bottle caps like this.

Even Walmart uses them in shipping! Overall, it’s a great product and hopefully when this pandemic is over I can find it in stores.

Fair & White Antibacterial black soap is really amazing. It lathers well, does not dry out the skin and protects the skin. I have been using it for a while and I can see the transformation on my skin.

Prices were fair and shipping was fast. Will highly recommend.

Don’t really care for the smell but it worked for my son’s head. He’s had a cradle cap like dandruff on & off for years (could possibly be psoriasis of the scalp, he’s 11). I washed his hair, then went & got it cut, his hair texture had changed from that 1 shampoo😳 he actually had waves, which he’s NEVER had before.

I will most definitely order more.

I love the black soap I’ve been using it now for at least a month and I see my blemishes are going away and it’s so soothing to my skin but I mostly use it for my face. I love the smell. Some of my coworkers notices my skin look different and friends.

They all say I’m glowing and I thank this black soap for It. Exactly what it says it does.

This soap is the best. It cleanses the skin properly.

This black soap has to be the best smelling soap I have ever used. It is one of those products that you think about repurchasing immediately after it runs out. The fragrance is very light. The soap does not leave a film on your skin.

However, the residue will leave a really bad film in your tub after every single wash. Very much worth the every day deep cleaning.

I always liked the smell of Egyptian Musk, it has a deep crisp smell. This large soap bar is packed with that sent and speckled with shea butter. After the first use of it my body gave off a smell of the musk all day.

This is a well crafted product. I recomend it even though i think it is over price.

This soap leaves my fave very very dry. I just followed up with my cerave hydrating cleanser then moisturized. This soap does lather very well. Ill keep using to see if my blemishes go away.

I use this straight up on my skin. I don’t mix with anything! I used the blow dryer to melt it down just a bit and apply. Been using this for years! I put it on my face, neck, elbows, heels and tops of my hands.

My face stays moisturized all day, I never have to reapply and that was my main concern. Right out of the shower or after a face wash, apply and you’re good to go! This stuff is all you need and no fancy or expensive creams.

This is the real deal, all natural and affordable! The more natural, the less ingredients, the better for your skin and body! I get compliments on my skin all the time, they ask what I use and I tell them, Organic African Shea Butta.

Nearly impossible to find raw African Shea butter in stores anywhere. This raw African Shea butter is excellent when applied on top of fractionated coconut oil for cracked and dry heals and feet. I always have to sand my feet down with a revlon board, apply fractionated coconut oil to the bottoms of my feet and top with raw African Shea butter for perfectly moisturized feet.

The texture is smooth once the product is warmed in hands. It is unscented, but it smells like black licorice to me. I hope it will have a more pleasant scent when I mix in essential oil and another oil for a creamier texture.

I am considering almond oil and coconut oil. Maybe orange essential oil. It is great on my 3 yr old daughter’s dry skin. She has super “thirsty” skin like her father. The price is unbeatable for the quantity delivered.

This soap makes my skin feel nice. After washing with it your skin is so nice and soft. I am almost afraid to say how nice it is for fear of the price going up or availability disappearing.

I’ve been using this soap for a few days now and it has already replaced my prior one. It leaves your skin feeling refreshed and even adds a glow to it, noticed a bump on my cheek almost diminish over night.

needless to say I will be purchasing more of this brand of Black Seed Oil soap from here again.

It does help to heal sensitive skin and unscented. It doesn’t dry skin and no irritating at all.

This soap actually works! My daughter(age14) is prone to blackheads. No matter how diligent she is with her skin care. It was getting to the point where we made an appointment to see a dermatologist to extract them.

Solo was having a sale and this black soap caught my eye. Each product I have purchased from Soko has not let me down, so I thought we should give it a try. It was about 4 days later when we say huge results.

As she was using her toner, she looks at the cotton pad and sees little black particles. The blackheads were migrating out of her pours. I tend to develop black heads around my nose. I used the soap for a few days and they are no longer an issue.

Suffice to say, I have purchased 2 more and will purchase more. I just hope the sale sticks around :).

I purchased this since I wanted to try using Erborian, along with trying out a face soap for the first time. The first thing I noticed after receiving it was the smell, which is amazing and the only reason why I’m giving it two stars.

I enjoyed using for a few days (both morning and evening) before I started noticing my skin feeling more dry and stripped than it was prior to integrating this with my skincare. While I have been changing my skincare recently, this was the first item I added/substituted and where my skin began having more troubles with flakes and new breakouts.

I’ve switched to only using this as a night cleanser and I still feel some dryness, though certainly not as severe as before. Since this is marketed as something that controls sebum and is supposed to prevent acne, I was not expecting for it to have the adverse effect but it clearly does not clash well with my sensitive/acne-prone skin.

I would not recommend this to people with similar skin to mine and the price is definitely not worth it.

Some people have commented how great the soap smells, but I have a really hard time with the strong perfume smell of this soap. It is hard to describe and definitely not natural. If I keep the bar in the bathroom, it is strong enough that my whole bathroom smells.

The soap itself, however, has cleared up my face like nothing else has been able to in the past couple years, so the smell is worth dealing with in my opinion. I have struggled with breakouts since my teens, but they seemed to be getting worse this past year or so and nothing I tried could keep them in check.

Using this day and night (as part of a double cleanse at night) has transformed my face. For the first time since I can remember, I’m able to go outside without foundation! I’ll definitely be buying it again.
